It was a beautiful day in the streets of Houston, everyone going about their day, hanging with friends or family; however, what makes this day so wonderful was the fact that today was the start of summer vacation. Everyone knows that when summer comes, every school would be closed for three months while everyone goes and has fun with their friends and family.

As the bell at the university of Houston rang, marking the end of the day and the start of summer, every student who had plans for the summer left the school grounds while those that didn’t stayed and headed to their homes or dorms to continue studying. As students left the school grounds to start their summer, one boy in particular was more excited than anyone to start their summer, and that boy’s name was Scorch. Like every other student, Scorch would always get to his class, study or complete his assignments, but the thing that made him different from everyone else was that he was an inventor. He had invented all kinds of things that he used to help him, from organizing and cleaning to working and even cooking; however, the invention he was most proud of was his robotic companion that he named Robo, and for awhile the both of them have been involved in making something incredible.

“Hey Robo I’m home.” Scorch says as he opens the door and enters his home.

“Welcome home Scorch. How was your day?” Robo asks as she comes up from the basement.

“It was good. Want to know what makes it even better?” He says grinning.

“Oh I’m pretty sure I know what.” She says grinning back as they both say at the same time. “Today is the start of summer vacation.”

After saying that the both of them started to laugh “Hehe! Man, I can’t believe that summer is finally here. I've been waiting so long for this day to come, wouldn't you agree, Robo?” He says looking at Robo as he stopped, and she did the same.

“Yeah, today is the day that we can see if it works.” She says in excitement as she heads back down to the basement.

After Robo went down to the basement, Scorch started to head down himself, and as he heads down, he sees Robo turning on the machine that the both of them have been working on. The machine itself looked like a gateway. “Is the portal ready Robo? Because I’m excited to see if it works.”

“Almost. Just need to put in where we want to go, then we should be all set.” She says looking back at Scorch.

“Hmmm there’s a ton of places I'd like to see... Oh, I know! Why don’t we go to New York? I've always wanted to go there.”

Robo just smiled and rolled her eyes. “Alright, New York it is.” She says smiling as she starts typing in their destination; however, after they started the machine up it started to malfunction.

“Robo what’s going on?” Scorch says looking to his Robotic companion.

“I don’t know, there seems to be a malfunction.” Robo says as she tries to turn off the machine, but it was to late. The machine wouldn’t turn off, and as they both tried to figure out a way to turn it off, the machine started to open up a portal and suck the both of them in.

“Robo grab onto something!” Scorch says as he tries to grab on to something, anything to try to avoid being sucked into the portal, but right when the both of them were about to grab onto something the portal drag them in, a blinding light spread throughout the house. When it was over, no one in the basement lab remained; not even the portal remained, as it seems to have vanished with both Scorch and Robo.

In the land of Equestria

In the magical land of Equestria the residents that in habit the land were enjoying their time together and relaxing after recent events involving the changeling army attacking Canterlot during the royal wedding, and after they were defeated and the wedding returned to normal everypony had decided to relax and continue on with their lives. Within Canterlot castle Princess Celestia was in her room relaxing as she was signing over some documents when all of a sudden, she felt a strange surge of energy coming from the Everfree forest, unlike anything she had felt before. “What In Equestria was that!? I have never felt a surge of energy this strong before.” Looking out her balcony towards the Everfree forest, she decides to write a letter to Twilight Sparkle, her most faithful student to have her investigate the source of the energy surge.

“Dear Twilight Sparkle, my most faithful student,

I am sending you this letter to inform you that I had felt a powerful surge of energy coming from the Everfree forest, and I would like for you and your friends to go and investigate the cause of this and to see if what ever caused the surge of energy is a threat or not.

Your faithful teacher, Princess Celestia.”

After sending the letter to Twilight, Celestia looked over at her balcony towards the Everfree forest hoping that whatever caused the surge of energy wasn’t a threat. Within the Everfree forest, a portal had just opened up above the forest, and two individuals fell out of the portal and into the forest. “AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!” Scorch and Robo fell, landing on top of each other. “Ow! My back! Robo, you think you could get off me please?” Scorch says looking back at his Robotic companion that was on his back.

“Oh sorry Scorch, I didn’t mean to land on you.” She says as she gets off his back.

“It’s fine, but more importantly, where in the world are we?” Scorch says as he gets up from the ground, dusting himself off.

“From what I can see, it looks like we’re in a forest of some kind, but none that I know of.” Robo says as they looked around; they were indeed in a forest.

“Well, wherever we are, I’m getting some serious haunted forest vibes from here, so why don’t we try to find a way out of this forest?” Robo nodded in agreement as the both of them started to head in a random direction not knowing where to go. “This was most definitely a weird start off summer?” Scorch says while sighing as they walked in the forest.
