Love at First Biteby uniquecornChaptersReforming (Silver Trust)Comforting (Rainbow Dash)Recovering (Flutterbat)Amends (Silver Trust)Loyalty (Rainbow Dash)Reforming (Silver Trust)It was that night. Three years since Fluttershy proposed to Rainbow Dash. That was the night that she rose from her body. Flutterbat. Ever since the incident with the vampire bats, Fluttershy has been having nightmares upon nightmares about it. Nightmares about a yellow bat pony with fangs identical to the Element of Kindness’s appearance coming down to pierce her flesh. At least, that’s what I heard. That nightmare awakens Flutterbat like she flew from the dream to what happened now. I can tell that Rainbow is heartbroken. Fluttershy is her love and that dark side took that love from her. To make it worse, Flutterbat pierced her fangs through the shin of Rainbow’s right foreleg, forming a scar a couple of days later. That’s when she thought Fluttershy is gone, faded out of existence now that Flutterbat existed. Twilight claims that Fluttershy is confirmed gone. Twilight said that she’s no longer in the void meaning she can’t reach Rainbow’s beloved and live together at the end. All we can hear from Rainbow now is depression. Rarely talking to us and isolating herself in her cloud house until she recovers, but I can tell that would never happen. Right now, Flutterbat is kept in the barn of Sweet Apple Acres, currently tied up in chains framed on the barn’s wall. Only a few ponies knew and heard about this predicament, myself included. I’m in the middle of resting my head in bed just to get it off my mind or maybe think of something to solve this. But that’s when an idea magically appeared in my mind. It’s a plausible thought I thought of, but I wasn’t certain it would go so well. But, the truth is, I’m on Rainbow’s claim, Fluttershy is within the beast. I can’t leave Rainbow in a constant depressed state, so I’m gonna work on my idea now. I got out of bed to take my lantern and started walking to Sweet Apple Acres, making sure I don’t make a sudden noise that could wake up the entire village for those ponies to see me walking in the middle of the night towards where they held Flutterbat captive. Eventually, I reached the barn. At this point, I’m glad that I left this night because at the moment I opened the door, I saw Rainbow Dash with a knife centimeters away from Flutterbat’s esophagus preparing to stab through it. The bat pony’s eyes flinching in fear as she tries to escape her ties. “Rainbow Dash! Stop!” By the time I saw this, I immediately started running at Rainbow to tackle her from the side, causing her to drop the weapon and let it fall onto the wooden floor. “Argh! What the hay?!” Her tone of voice tells that she’s still irritated by the fact that Fluttershy is gone. “What were you trying to do, Rainbow?” “I was trying to kill Flutterbat! Fluttershy is alive, Silver Trust, I know it.” “Rainbow, I do think that your love is still deep in the beast’s mind. But why? Why are you trying to end her life?” Rainbow lowered her temper a little just because I believed her. She’s only still frustrated about her bride. “I can’t live when my Fluttershy looks like this! I’ll calm down if she’s free!” “Freedom by death? Rainbow Dash, I know what you’ve been through, but you can’t do that. You can’t just give up and refuse to find alternate solutions.” “Twilight and Zecora were not able to bring Fluttershy back. Not even Princess Celestia was able to bring her back. Twilight even said she’s gone from the void. So what’s the point.” “We may not have a solution that brings her back, but I may have a solution that brings love back. More specifically, you two may be together again.” I knew she would be calmed and shocked after I said that, but for some reason it felt like I sounded too convincing. How would she feel when my plan failed and it’s considered that I failed her? “So you think that you could put me and Fluttershy together again?” “Honestly, I don’t know. Maybe I can, but what are the chances?” “Well, every little bit helps. I’d do anything, small or otherwise, for Fluttershy.” “Thank you for the inspiration, I appreciate it. We’re gonna reform Flutterbat.” “Wait, reform her? As in, unveiling an enemy’s good side?” “Yes. I’m sure Flutterbat just had a misunderstanding. Especially when she bit your foreleg.” And that’s when I heard Flutterbat hissing in a soft manner trying to get my attention. I turned to face her, not expecting her emotions to come loose. Her red eyes eyeing the floor in sorrow. I can tell she heard our conversation, but I asked just to be sure. ”Have you been hearing our conversation?” She nodded slowly in response. She did hear our conversation. I don’t know what Flutterbat heard, but whatever was, it made her feel miserable. Seeing this, myself and Rainbow positioned ourselves around her and I started to ask a few more questions. “Are you feeling kind?” She nodded again. “Are you…thirsty? Do you want...blood?” She shook her head. She doesn’t want to consume blood, which is odd but understandable. “Do you want to be released?” She looked in the ceiling for a second and then nodded afterwards. I can tell that she’s in fear. I know that she’s scared of herself. She wants to be free, but she’s scared to try. Right now, she’s looking at the knife on the ground, I know that she wants somepony to pick it up and let it penetrate through an organ that could ultimately kill her dead. I thought for a moment before talking to Rainbow Dash. “Rainbow, give me the knife.” Flutterbat is alarmed by my words, but she seems to be accepting the outcome, which I know it’s not what she’s thinking. I’m not sure what Rainbow thought I was gonna do, but she picked up the knife from the floor and passed it to me. Flutterbat closed her eyes as I began moving the blade. She doesn’t know where the knife will begin stabbing, but I positioned the blade over the chains and thrusted it through them, releasing the bat pony from captivity. I helped her up as she dropped off the wall and mere seconds after touching her hoof, she immediately hugged Rainbow Dash and nuzzled against her. Her distinct sobs indicating her weeping as her tears wet Rainbow’s blue fur. And then shortly after, she eyed on Rainbow’s scarred leg and licked it and then she went back to hug her. ”It’s okay, Flutterbat. You may not be the mare I like to see, but I’m not upset now that you understand what I felt.” See, Flutterbat only stops being savage because she understands what’s happened. She understands love. She understands harm. She understands pain. And those understandings made her realization and that’s what breaks her into tears. Flutterbat is only crying because she knows she’s a monster. A monster that harms ponies. A monster that causes problems to ponies. A monster that replaces a pony’s love. But myself and Rainbow will work on discharging all those tears and worries. “Don’t worry about all the harm you caused today. We’ll make your worries go away, right, Rainbow?” “Yeah. But we should start tomorrow. It’s getting pretty late.” “Right. Maybe you should sleep here with Flutterbat. Flutterbat, tomorrow morning, you need to start making friends.” Flutterbat nodded as an answer for “Yes.” I stood up and walked towards the door to open it and exited out of the barn. Before I left, I turned to face Rainbow as she called me. “Hey. Thank you.” “You’re welcome.” To be continued… Comforting (Rainbow Dash)I knew it was the wrong way to use my act of kindness. It’s not a way to free Fluttershy from her batty counterpart. It wasn’t necessary to kill the creature. Flutterbat is kept confined on a barn wall for she’s considered not to be running loose and I agreed with that. But she took love away from me, so I wouldn’t relax until the problem is solved. What came to my mind is probably the worst and the most horrible solution to fix this kind of situation. I want to free her via the death of the demon. There were no other answers to think of. And I didn’t even care if there’s another solution. There would be one moment that I’d regret this when my attempt succeeded. I didn’t want to do it, but I’m unable to prevent it. What was I thinking? I came into Flutterbat’s prison cell with a knife from my home kitchen in my hoof. That’s when she scrambles to escape her fate. It’s like she’s pleading me to not do it, yet I ignored her pleads. It seemed like I really am about to stab her. I was hovering the blade centimeters over the oesophagus. But suddenly… “Rainbow Dash! Stop!” A young stallion named Silver Trust disarmed the knife by shoving me onto the wooden floor, saving Flutterbat in the process. I was still heartbroken due to the loss of my love, so I sort of shouted at him harshly. “Argh! What the hay?! I continued ranting about how I wanted Flutterbat killed and Fluttershy freed as nopony was able to magically revert her mutation. However, that’s not entirely the case, at least for Silver. I was able to listen to him enough to hear that he might be able to mentally, not physically, put me and Fluttershy together again. He planned to reform Flutterbat. It seemed too good to be true, so I doubted trying to reform her. But it sounds like he doesn’t know if his plan would work either, therefore I gave him a chance. Should’ve given him at least more chances though. “I’m sure Flutterbat just had a misunderstanding. Especially when she bit your foreleg.” That was Silver’s last speech bubble before Flutterbat hissed at us, except it’s unlike the hisses we would normally hear from her, it’s more polite and less freaky. “Have you been hearing our conversation?” That was Silver’s first question to ask Flutterbat and surprisingly enough for me, she replied with a slow nod like she understands the question. I can tell that Flutterbat is unbelievably being reformed. Silver asked more questions that are definitely worth asking. Especially questions like… “Are you…thirsty? Do you want…blood?” Flutterbat quickly answers that question by shaking her head, which is a way of saying no, which is an odd answer coming from her, a vampire. “Do you want to be released?” By this question that’s being asked, Flutterbat doesn’t answer straight away. She took few seconds to think about her answer before nodding. So she wants to be released, but because of one reason or another, there’s one moment when she thinks about not being released. At this time, it’s Silver’s turn to do some thinking. Eventually, he made a choice, but the first thing he said afterwards is… “Rainbow, give me the knife.” What does he need the knife for? It’s definitely not for killing the beast dead because he already established not killing her, although I could be wrong and that he’s actually going to penetrate the blade through Flutterbat’s flesh. Nonetheless, although I’d like to ask why, I trust Silver enough to not ask any questions and just passed the knife on the floor to him. As he gripped hold of the knife, Flutterbat immediately shuts her eyes as if she thinks this is the end for her, but she didn’t even struggle to escape as if she’s accepting the fact that she’ll die here. But no, that didn’t happen. Flutterbat doesn’t get to die, instead she gets freedom. Silver cuts through the chains that were holding Flutterbat up and she dropped off the wall. I walked closer to her to further inspect her. As soon as I got close enough, she targets her eyes at my face with sorrow before she immediately embraces me while weeping tears on my underbelly. Shortly after that, she weirdly decided to lick my leg, since that’s the area she bit before, before she returned to resting her head on my chest. It’s like she’s trying to heal the wound or something. That’s when, and only when I finally realized what she wants. She wanted to regret being alive and biting me on the foreleg that she cried on my chest like she really meant it. Flutterbat’s scared now. She’s afraid of the demon that she became and is. ”It’s okay, Flutterbat. You may not be the mare I like to see, but I’m not upset now that you understand what I felt.” Poor Flutterbat realized she’s a monster and she remembered how violent it was to tear across my leg, opening a wound and protuding blood from it. She didn’t know how much pain was received from the biteforce, she didn’t know that her existence came from a mare of kindness, she didn’t know that she took love away from my life. Now she knows what I and a few ponies have been through, but it’s long past her violent actions and so she declared herself guilty for those actions to wet her face in tears. Silver and I had to comfort her, we got her reassured by telling her not to worry about the past. After that, Silver suggested to Flutterbat that she needs to start befriending Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie and Twilight, but it was getting late so I suggested to start amends tomorrow. We agreed, I had to remain in the barn with her so that she has someone accompanying her while Silver starts walking to his home in Ponyville, but I got his attention to thank him before he leaves. After all he’s done within a span of a couple of hours, he deserves my gratitude. That night, I was sleeping in the barn on the floor curled up like a sleeping dog. Because bats are nocturnal creatures and Flutterbat is an associated species, she had to hang upside down in the corner of the room until daytime. I didn’t see it, but I think she’s been staring at me the whole time, it’s probably because she feels the guilt that grew in her because somepony mentioned a factor that nopony discussed with her. Flutterbat’s stare didn’t disturb me from my sleep as it was a normal stare and not ‘The Stare’. However, after some time of getting some shut-eye, she flew down from the corner to sit close to me while she’s still looking at me. And then the next thing I knew, she moved closer to me to stroke my fur body, but I accidentally took it as a disturbance and so I opened my eyes from one touch of a stroking hoof. “Is it morning already?” I woke up only to see Flutterbat already hiding behind her mane. I didn’t think she was meant to wake me up, so I tried a salutation just to tell her that we can have a conversation right here and now. “What’s up, Flutterbat? I don’t mind waking up, you know? But unless you were actually trying to wake me up for something, I’ll be falling asleep. You can stroke me if you want to, it’s not like a nocturnal creature like you have anything awesome to do in an empty box or in this case, a barn used as a prison cell where you’re not supposed to escape.” That’s my reassuring speech, saying that I’ll allow Flutterbat to stroke me. While she did smile at the offer, she feels down with sorrow immediately afterwards. I thought she’s still thinking about my leg and stuff. “Flutterbat, Silver and I told you that you don’t need to worry about all the intentional injuries you’ve caused today. You didn’t realize that I wedded, well, you as a pegasus and so you didn’t care about harming an innocent pony. You only understand my feelings because somepony else spoke out loud to you.” I tried my best reassuring her, making sure the words are relatable and making sense. But apparently, that wasn’t the reason why she’s in sorrow as she’s, well, still in sorrow. I had no idea what she wants to say. To make it clear, she puts her hoof on her chest, or rather, her heart symbolizing something. Unfortunately, my palette of sign language is limited, but fortunately, I know that she’s referring to my real love, Fluttershy. My Fluttershy disappeared ever since Flutterbat exists. Although I have doubts about “Fluttershy is really gone.”, it might actually be the truth. Flutterbat understands the feeling of losing your loved ones, taking my love is no exception. She was born from a malfunctioned spell, vampire bat genes replacing Fluttershy’s genes. Unless somepony eventually finds a reverse spell, the transformation is permanent. She wished that she’s never born in the first place and things would be back to normal starting with Flutterbat reverting back to Fluttershy, bonding lovebirds together again and never existing ever again. I thought of an appropriate combination of words that could be viable to say to her in this case. “It’s okay, Flutterbat. I know that taking away Fluttershy from me is wrong, you’re responsible for her absence and you want to preserve it. But it’s not your fault, don’t blame yourself. Besides, it was me and my friends that accidentally made you alive in the first place.” Flutterbat was shocked to hear that she was born by us, but it’s true. Twilight, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie and I told Fluttershy to do ‘The Stare’ on the vampire fruit bats so that we can cast a spell on them. Unfortunately, it turns out that ‘The Stare’ acted like a magic conductor that causes the spell to transfer to Fluttershy’s body and the effect is vampirism. “But if you’re really blaming yourself for removing Fluttershy from my picture, just know that you understood how I feel about my vanished love and wanted to bond me and Fluttershy again.” Awesome, she took my message as she smiles at me. Although she’s been reassured, she may have a small amount of guilt, but not enough to hold her down. That’s when I thought about my attempted bloodshed. I was lucky that Silver Trust caught me trying to kill Flutterbat, but it was so wrong that I had to apologize hard to Flutterbat.” “I’m sorry I was about to kill you with the knife, Flutterbat. I was just truly convinced that Fluttershy is gone, but I made the claim that she’s alive but trapped in the darkness. I wanted to kill you so that she can go to rest in peace, but then Silver Trust came to make you and me understand the love and friendship between us. Can you forgive me?” Flutterbat puts her hoof on my back and nodded. She forgives me for trying to stab her, but can I forgive myself? I know that I should forgive myself no matter what to forgive about, but it’s hard to try. I need to close my eyes before I barely get any sleep. “I should go back to sleep. You should go back to whatever you noctural creatures do at night.” My eyes were closing as I informed her. But instead of her getting back to the corner, she stayed sitting next to me continuing to stroke my back. This time, trying not to consider it an interruption to keep my eyes close until a few hours later, she decides to hang upside down on the barn’s ceiling. As the day called Celestia a few more hours later, the sun is ready to rise for a new one. To be continued… Recovering (Flutterbat)Ponies consider me as a scary monster, some fear me but are brave enough to stay, while still others leave me be to avoid death. I’m okay with that. I mean, my appearance as a Flutterbat is a frightening nightmare. I understand everypony’s opinion on me, especially since I acted as a nightmare myself. Not just a scary one, but a heartless and bloodthirsty monster. When I first arose at Sweet Apple Acres at night, there were the five ponies who were the first to see me. I didn’t last long however as I was removed from Equestria via an alicorn’s effective reverse spell. Or so they thought it’s effective, as after what felt like three years, I returned. I returned in a completely new location that’s not an apple farm. I was in a little dwelling with the rainbow-maned pegasus a short distance away from me looking at me frightened. I quickly recognized her because she’s one of the vampire slayers. Rainbow Dash and the other four mares were the ones who deleted me for three years, so I wanted to kill them for payback. She dared to step forward and talk, but I didn’t take any chances, I bit her right leg as hard as I could that she screamed in pain. That transfers to her reflex of a punch on my head and knocking me out. I was unconscious for many minutes until I woke up being surrounded by Twilight, Rainbow and Applejack with no where to run as I got lassoed and eventually got framed on a wall of a barn in Sweet Apple Acres. They wanted to erase me again, they really don’t want me in Equestria. Can’t a pony just live for at least a week? Unfortunately for them, their methods have failed. Either nothing changes or they make it worse for themselves. They eventually gave up. Everypony that tried gave up, but not Rainbow Dash, my victim. Later that night, she entered my prison cell and walked closer to me. She held her hoof up so that her scar is in my sight. I wanted to smirk at it. That was a mistake. She didn’t come here to see me, but she came here to kill me. She’s holding a knife on the other hoof and was prepared to stab me. As soon as I knew what he’s gonna do, I panicked. I can’t escape, I can’t move away, I can’t defend myself. I didn’t want to accept this fate! “Rainbow Dash! Stop!” I was on the edge of a cliff when I suddenly heard somepony and then the next thing I knew, Rainbow Dash was being tackled from the side by that grey-coated red-maned stallion, Silver Trust. “Argh! What the hay?!” I watched and heard Rainbow angrily shouted at the top of her lungs. It was so loud that it feels like she grounded me hard. Has she been this angry ever since I appeared? But nopony ever said anything out loud to me. But it’s like I’ve been shouted at that I should’ve known something has happened. Thankfully, Silver Trust came and stopped Rainbow’s urge to stab, so an explanation gets said out loud so that I can hear it. But what I heard is surprisingly heartbreaking, I don’t even know why I felt this way. I heard a Fluttershy being mentioned 5 times throughout the whole dialogue. But most importantly, I heard that Rainbow wants to end my life because this Fluttershy, her love, is trapped in my mind. I…I don’t know what to say. Rainbow’s love is gone because I’m here? Did I remove somepony that she loved? I also heard that Silver’s trying to unveil my good side and it’s working. I have to help Rainbow Dash, I’m the one responsible for everything. I got Silver’s attention by hissing softly, since that’s my only way of communicating. “Have you been listening to our conversation?” I was surprised that he responded to me, so I nodded to answer his question. I wanted to say “Yes, I did hear your chat, Silver.” I had to answer more questions from Silver, including a morbid one like… “Are you…thirsty? Do you want…blood?” “No! I’m not! I can’t and won’t suck anymore blood! Please don’t ask questions like that again!” “Do you want to be released?” That is the one question that strikes me. I thought for a second before I nervously nodded. Yes, I want to be released, but…at the same time, I don’t. I don’t want to harm another pony. I didn’t expect to be free though. Answering that question does not necessarily mean I get to be free. I wanted to pay my life for the wounds I committed via the blade on the floor through my heart. “Rainbow, give me the knife.” By the time Silver mentions those five words, I was panicking in my mind. Why does he need the knife? The only answer I can think of is that he’s going to end my life here. But I deserve to die. If they want to get rid of me, then so be it. If there is a Fluttershy inside me, then it’s called sacrifice for the greater good. If my death means that Rainbow’s love becomes an angel, then I’ll die for both Fluttershy and Rainbow. I closed my eyes, trying hard not to think about the knife and where it’s gonna strike. Where is the knife gonna strike? My heart? My neck? My head? Fortunately, though, the possible outcome didn’t match with my fate as Silver decided to break the chains. He dropped me off the wall and onto the floor. After I realized I’ve been released, I regretfully eyed Rainbow Dash and embraced her in tears. “I’m so sorry, Rainbow Dash! Really, I am! I made your Fluttershy disappear. She can’t exist when I exist! I’m so sorry!” I can’t forget about her scar. I’m the one responsible for that scar on her foreleg via my sharp canines. I don’t know why, but I tried to lick the wound trying to either heal it or ease the pain I caused. “I’m sorry for the scar, Rainbow Dash! I’m the one who gave you the scar, but you don’t deserve it at all! I’d try to heal it if I can, I mean it! Spare your forgiveness if you want to, I may or may not deserve it!” It was burden that she felt, now it’s guilt that I felt. Can she really forgive me after a bitten leg? “It’s okay, Flutterbat. You may not be the mare I like to see, but I’m not upset now that you understand what I felt.” I kept on weeping even after those words of comfort. I mean, what have I done from when I first appeared? I removed somepony’s important pony. I bit Rainbow’s leg as a nightmarish version of her love. I took over her love’s body, but the transformation is irreversable. Do I really deserve to be forgiven? “Don’t worry about all the harm you caused today.” Silver said to me. I’d try not to think about the past. “Flutterbat, tomorrow morning, you need to start making friends.” That last word, ‘friends’. I had to think about what kind of friends he’s mentioning. My guess is he must be talking about the other four ponies that were with Rainbow Dash, then again, I could be wrong and he’s talking about making friends with random ponies. But if he was talking about them, I’d be nervous about that. But it’s like he’d like it to happen, so I nodded, for him. We have our agreement, it’s time for Silver to leave so that he could rest. Rainbow Dash and I had to spend the night in the barn for the best. Unfortunately, I’m a nocturnal creature, so, although I would love to, I can’t sleep next to Rainbow Dash. But I also don’t want to leave the barn because I don’t want the risk of being spotted, so I hanged upside down in a corner to pass the night while Rainbow is asleep. The barn’s window was next to where I’m positioned. I looked at my reflection through the surface of the glass and saw my nightmarish appearance that everypony’s been looking at all this time. Crimson blood-red eyes staring at my ruffled up mane hanging down from my head. Leather bat wings unlike feathery pegasi wings covering three pink bats as my cutie mark. Long sharp canines like sharp daggers perfect for tearing a pony’s flesh and pumping their blood out of their bodies. Everypony sees me as a vampire, a scary creature and I was unaware of that. Once I see it, I can’t unsee it. I saw what I really am, a horrifying blood-thirsty transmogrified monster made harshly everlasting. Poor Rainbow sees her love like this. Sweet, kind and caring into scary, vicious and dangerous. I made her Fluttershy disappear, I turned her into a creature that nopony is safe from. I looked away from the window to watch Rainbow as she’s sleeping. Looking at her, she looks adorable. She sleeps like a dog, her soft belly making contact with the floor with her tail along her side. If Silver hadn’t come to disarm Rainbow’s knife, I wouldn’t be able to see this adorableness. But then I felt like we should talk to each other for longer, making sure everything is truly settled. Although I was hesitant, I quietly flew down and walked to Rainbow’s side. Now, I’m able to see how cute her sleeping position is from a close-up perspective. But before I try to communicate with her, I wanted to stroke her mane and fur. I gave Rainbow the lightest touch I could provide her with and felt a nice soft texture. I’ve only touched Rainbow with the tip of my hoof when I heard a little groan. “Is it morning already?” Rainbow woke up, but I suspected that I’m the one who accidentally woke her up. I hid behind my mane as she had her eye on me as if I’m apologizing for waking her up. When she saw me, she began to talk, reassuring me that she doesn’t mind about waking up. “I don’t mind waking up, you know? But unless you were actually trying to wake me up for something, I’ll be falling asleep. You can stroke me if you want to, it’s not like a nocturnal creature like you have anything awesome to do in an empty box or in this case, a barn used as a prison cell where you’re not supposed to escape.” Although I felt a little better from Rainbow’s dialogue and smiled at her saying that I accept it, sorrow suddenly fills me up. I wanted to apologize about her Fluttershy, but unfortunately, I can only communicate with hisses, so I’m unable to tell her about it easily. When Rainbow saw my sorrow, she immediately made a false conclusion. “Flutterbat, Silver and I told you that you don’t need to worry about all the intentional injuries you’ve caused today. You didn’t realize that I wedded, well, you as a pegasus and so you didn’t care about harming an innocent pony. You only understand my feelings because somepony else spoke out loud to you.” ”I thought we’ve established and settled that already. I’ll take your advice, but I’m talking about something else.” Rainbow Dash became confused as I kept the sorrow in me. She had no idea what we’re discussing, so I put my hoof on my heart, trying to symbolize Fluttershy. As I pondered about if it’s a good representation, she suddenly knows what I want to say and tried to tweak my apology. “It’s okay, Flutterbat. I know that taking away Fluttershy from me is wrong, you’re responsible for her absence and you want to preserve it. But it’s not your fault, don’t blame yourself. Actually, it was me and my friends that accidentally made you alive in the first place.” It was that last sentence that hits me. Rainbow and her friends made me exist? I know it was an accidental incident, but I can’t believe that it’s them to blame for making me exist. I’m pretty sure they’re not dark wizards, perhaps they tried to cast a helpful spell, but it’s somehow rendered negatively to a mare named Fluttershy and turned her into a vampire like myself, but maybe somepony would explain what really happened. “But if you’re really blaming yourself for removing Fluttershy from my picture, just know that you understood how I feel about my vanished love and wanted to bond me and Fluttershy again.” That’s the truth. I declared myself guilty for taking away Rainbow’s love, I wished that I could fit two mares in a picture frame and repair a broken heart that I shattered. I still possess a small amount guilt, but a small hint of motivation fills me up enough to make me smile at Rainbow. But then, out of nowhere, I noticed that Rainbow’s starting to frown. Why? “I’m sorry I was about to kill you with the knife, Flutterbat. I was just truly convinced that Fluttershy is gone, but I made the claim that she’s alive but trapped in the darkness. I wanted to kill you so that she can go to rest in peace, but then Silver Trust came to make you and me understand the love and friendship between us. Can you forgive me?” Rainbow is apologizing for trying to stab me. Apparently, I’m not the only one in sorrow for a reason. The details she mentioned was convincible, Rainbow was truly convinced of Fluttershy’s permanent absence, but her insanity drove her into a false belief of “Alive but trapped” and so it’s why she wanted to knife me dead, to free her love. Until Silver Trust came and stopped her in the end. “Can you forgive me?” is Rainbow’s next question. “Of course, Rainbow. I forgive you. I still can’t speak english, so to signify my response, I put my hoof on Rainbow’s back and nodded. It looked like she took it way better than me, it’s hard to forgive yourself after a horrible incident, whether it’s attempted or already happened. “I should go back to sleep. You should go back to whatever you noctural creatures do at night.” I allowed Rainbow to set her head down so that she can sleep, but I decided to sit beside her to stroke her back for a little more time, even though I woke him up by doing so last time. I slowly reached my hoof to Rainbow’s body and felt her soft fur once again and this time, I’m able to caress her in peace as she didn’t seem to mind. I continued to stay beside and stroke her for a few more hours before I proceed to hang on the ceiling, but not near the window though. I don’t like to see my reflection now, maybe someday I’ll get used to it, but not today. Although it was boring, I was patient and satisfied. I was able to stay up until the sun rises, for the second day for my existence. To be continued… Amends (Silver Trust)This morning, I awoke. The sun was lighting above Ponyville, if not, all of Equestria. I got out of bed to arrange myself because today is when reformed Flutterbat is gonna make amends. I worked on my morning routine as I brainstormed on how to tackle this day before I was out the door. I planned to start the process by contacting Flutterbat with the famous fashionista, Rarity, by bringing her to the barn. So, the path to the Carousel Boutique isn’t that far. When I arrived at its front door, I knocked on it and attempt to ask the particular pony that is always a resident. “Rarity, are you awake?” “I’m awake, darling. Please come in.” I partially entered the boutique to see the tailor already working on her sewing machine. She said to come in, but I came to tell her to come out “I can see you’re working on some new-design clothing, am I right?” “Remarkably, but I suppose you didn’t come here to know what I’m working on. This design is complicated to explain after all, Silver.” “No, I haven’t got the time. But I’m afraid I’ll have to ask you to pause what you’re doing for a few minutes.” “Oh. Well, I wasn’t really into making that. I didn’t think I’d actually complete what I’m working on. How would you like me to use my few minutes?” “Follow me and also bring your supply of headwears.” “Huh? Do you mean like hats, hoods and cloaks?” “Yes. Bring those, I’ll tell you why when the time comes.” “Alright. Would you mind if I ask you to carry a suitcase for a lady?” “It depends on how much weight the suitcase carries.” So Rarity packed a suitcase with all the hats and hoods that she made in the past and passed it to me. It’s not that heavy to be honest. It’s not that far from the boutique to Sweet Apple Acres, but we still have to walk for a minute and a half. Once I’ve led her to the one exact barn, Rarity decided to comment on our destination. “Wait. Isn’t this the barn where they kept that Flutterbat secure in chains until a permanent reverse spell is discovered?” “Yes, this is the place. Why do you ask?” “I’m not sure it’s a good idea to go in there, darling. I know she’s on the wall, but it’s just to avoid accidentally getting your limbs bitten.” “Once I open this door, you’ll see what happened last night.” I knew she’d be confused, so I opened the barn door straight away to avoid her possible countless questions. I expected to see a blue pegasus and a yellow bat pony sitting next to each other in the middle of the area, but instead, I only saw the pegasus near a block of hay at the back of the room and no one else was in my sight. “Morning, Rainbow. How’s yesterday’s night and today’s morning?” “Hey, Silver Trust. I can see you’re already getting started; You brought Rarity here.” “Getting started? For what? And where is that Flutterbat? Isn’t she supposed to be on that wall?” “She’s hiding behind this haybale.” I took a peek behind the haybale to find Flutterbat timidly shaking with her wings covering her eyes. I can tell she’s scared of the visitor. Only Rainbow and I knows that she’s reformed. Rarity followed my actions to see her, only to panic in her mind when she does. “F-Flutterbat?” The mention of her name caused Flutterbat to look up at the unicorn and immediately pin herself on the wall. “You don’t have to be scared, Flutterbat. You’re looking at Ponyville’s spirit of generosity, Rarity. She’s a passive pony unless you’re hostile to her.” She has to get off the wall and I have to move the hay block away in order to properly make friends with Rarity, while she continues to comment about what’s going to happen. “Silver Trust, what happened last night? I want an explanation.” “So last night, I made an entrance into Flutterbat’s prison cell with a plan. Rainbow was there so I could explain to her that my plan is to reform Flutterbat. It worked so well that guilt took over her emotions.” “Guilt? Why is she feeling guilt?” “It’s only now that she knows and understands what she’s done. Her existence removed Fluttershy and provided Rainbow a painful wound on her right foreleg.” Rarity gasped after I told her the explanation. “Right now, we attempt to get Flutterbat to befriend you and the other spirits of harmony.” “Oh. Well, now that I’ve heard what happened last night, I can do that.” Rarity said as she steps forward and proceeds to hold her hoof on Flutterbat’s shoulder. “I’m sure anypony can be in the same situation as you, Flutterbat. In fact, somepony I know felt guilt after she’s done something awful and cruel.” I’ve read stories about these six ponies, so I know exactly who she’s talking about. Ironically, she’s referring to Fluttershy and her assertive lessons, it was an awful day. “Eventually, you’ll recover. Sure you did the worst possible thing, but if, for example, Rainbow Dash is okay with this, then you should think so too. You’ve earned my friendship.” That was beautiful. Everything that Rarity said is true and Flutterbat seems to think so too, her smile signifies that they are friends now. “Thank Silver Trust for finding the plan. If he hadn’t I would’ve… stabbed her.” “Oh. Rainbow Dash, that’s how far your depression gets?” “I know. I’m sorry. I just wanted to see Fluttershy again when it’s about to go so wrong.” “It’s alright, Rainbow. You just couldn’t control yourself. It’s not your fault.” I reassured Rainbow Dash. To think, this all started when the thought of reforming a mutant pony hits me out of nowhere and the outcome went very well. “So, Silver Trust, why did you tell me to bring this suitcase of hoods and cloaks?” “Ah yes. As you know by now, only a few ponies know about this Flutterbat. I’m trying to prevent multiple ponies from freaking out and this is the solution I found.” As I speak, Flutterbat is poking around the suitcase looking slightly fascinated by the dark colored contents. “Oh, I see. So you want me to dress her up so that she could blend in in the environment. Well, you’ve just called the right pony to do just that.” “You’re talking about yourself, aren’t you?” Rainbow commented. “Of course I’m talking about myself. There’s no need for a question, darling.” Rarity grabbed a specific black cloak from her suitcase and proceeds to put it on Flutterbat’s body. We thought Flutterbat with the cloak looks stunning and unnoticeable unless they really observe her. “You look awesome, Flutterbat. Nopony will be able to see your real body.” Although we have concerns, we decide not to doubt and let the world choose to either reveal or hide her identity until the very end. “So what do you wanna do next? Do you have a goal you want to achieve?” “Well, we still want Flutterbat to make amends with our other friends.” “Alright. Do you mind if I get back to the Carousel Boutique?” “Of course not, Rarity. We can handle this ourselves.” “Okay. Stay safe, darlings.” Rarity calls out her byes as she’s out the barn’s door. “Will do. Come on, I planned to see Applejack now.” I heard Flutterbat’s squeak as I said that. It seems like she’s scared of Applejack, which is understandable. Applejack and vampire fruit bats are basically opposites of each other, so there’s a good chance that she’d just round Flutterbat up as soon as she sees her. Not only that, but Applejack is a sensitive country pony and can be a little bit stubborn sometimes. She can be so stubborn that she won’t even listen to us. “Don’t worry, Flutterbat. If Applejack does round up or not, either way, we can just explain it to her whenever we can.” Rainbow Dash said confident that she’d protect her at all costs. If Applejack listens to us, it wouldn’t be much of a problem. If she doesn’t, then we would have to hit hard on her until she decides to listen to us. Not to linger for too long, we leave this barn to reach Applejack’s housebarn. Rainbow Dash, Flutterbat and I were trotting out the barn door making that blanket of light expose our bodies in room temperature heat. We didn’t test a vampony’s vulnerability to sunlight, but looking back at her, she’s surprisingly fine. Our walk to Applejack’s dwelling was pretty relaxing, until Flutterbat creates more issues. We had to walk through the apple orchard to reach the country pony’s home, but midway through the field, I noticed that Flutterbat stares at the shiny red fruit on the tree. She was licking her lips to then flinch back and shake her head in a quick motion. I easily figured out what she wants and what she rejected. “Go on, Flutterbat. I’m sure Applejack won’t mind a few juiced up apples.” I figured she’s afraid of how she first reacted to vampire fruit bats comparing to how she’d react if she noticed rotten apples on the ground, especially since she knew a Flutterbat is alive. However, she still declines the offer, not that it matters, anyway. “Um, Silver,” Rainbow said to me. “Can we talk?” “Sure, Rainbow. What is it?” “You’re a good pony, you know that? You’ve been so helpful to us lately. I know I said it already, but I want to say it again. Thank you. I should never have doubted you.” “Wait, you have been doubting me?” “I have. When you mentioned that you had a solution to bring my love back, I’ve been doubting you ever since. All this time, I thought me and Fluttershy couldn’t be bonded together again, but all of that has changed now. …I’m sorry I didn’t trust you before.” “It’s okay. See the shield with a tick for my cutie mark? My special talent is about getting troubled ponies to trust my instincts and help them.” “I see that. Your name also determines your special talent. But why are you helping us?” “Oh. Well, I couldn’t help but look at you miserably. Left without your love, it just doesn’t feel right.” Flutterbat whimpered a little bit at the mention of Fluttershy. “I see. You just can’t see me being depressed all the time, huh.” “No. I can’t.” Our conversation ended just as we’re up against Applejack’s door. I knocked on the door alarming the ponies inside. “Applejack, are you home?” “Ah’m coming!” Our Flutterbat in cloak is timidly shaking, for she’s still afraid of Applejack. But who could possibly tell me the odds? She could have chances or if not, I’ll somehow find a way to earn her friendship to the cloaked one. The door clicked and opened wide letting out the country earth pony and when she noticed Flutterbat, she is so shocked that she’s out of the barn and highly gasped before pulling a lasso out of her Stetson with her tail. “Flutterbat?! You ain’t supposed to escape, you know?” Flutterbat couldn’t even react fast enough as Applejack successfully caught her in the neck slightly choking her. Rainbow, at this moment, pounced on her in a way that Applejack lets go of the rope. “Hey! You let her go this instant, Applejack!” “Rainbow Dash! Why did you save her? She bit your leg, remember?” While Applejack and Rainbow Dash are arguing inside, I helped with getting the rope off Flutterbat’s neck. We can hear Applejack recalling a tragic event and that made Flutterbat recall how wrong that event was. “Stay here until I called you.” I stepped inside the housebarn to break the two ponies’ argument. I attempt to emphasize to Applejack what happened last night. “Perhaps we could provide you with details from last night.” “Last night? Wait, you’re that Silver Trust pony from Ponyville, aren’t you?” “Yes, that’s me. Anyway, long story short, we reformed Flutterbat last night and now she’s feeling guilty.” “Guilty? What is she feeling guilty about?” “Existing and also the scar on Rainbow’s leg.” “Oh. I see. And why is she in front of my doorstep?” “She’s trying to befriend the elements of harmony minus the spirit of kindness. She already got Rarity’s friendship and now it’s your turn to be her friend if you’re willing to. Oh, and here’s your lasso back.” As Applejack sees the lasso I gave to her, she realized the mistake that she made before and admits it to me and Rainbow, starting with a small laugh. “Heh heh. I guess I made a bad start, huh.” “You definitely did. Flutterbat, Applejack is passive now!” Yes, she heard me. Here comes Flutterbat who’s nervous but brave enough to step forward. Although, she stopped five meters away from where Applejack’s standing. Now that Applejack understands what Flutterbat’s been through, amending them together is the next best thing. So Applejack steps in closer passively trying not to scare her. It’s basically like trying to catch a wild butterfly. When she’s close enough, she began to speak as she puts her hoof on her shoulder just like Rarity. “It’s alright, Flutterbat. There’s no need to feel guilty about what you did. I’m sorry that I rounded you up. I know you’d probably forgive me, so I should forgive you too for biting my friend’s leg.” Flutterbat smiles through her cloak now Applejack forgives her and the advice of ‘no need to feel guilty’ is plausible for her to keep it. After that happened, I thought that I would show my generosity. Actually, I passed that generosity to Rainbow Dash by whispering what she can do at this time. “Applejack, now that you’re friends, would you mind if Flutterbat craves on a few of your apples?” Applejack didn’t hesitate to answer Rainbow’s question, a straight answer came out of her mouth. “Of course not. Ah have plenty in my orchard and in my pantry. Ah’ll grab a basket of ‘em.” Applejack enters her kitchen to gather a basket full of apples while we wait for 10 seconds before she comes back. “Here, Flutterbat. The least ah can do to show you ah can be your friend.” With her sight of shiny red apples, Flutterbat went out to fill her hungry stomach, or is she thirsty? Either way, she dug through the juices until all the apples are empty. Flutterbat’s feeling refreshed now, I guess. Although she had the urges to consume more apples, she’s able to control them. She didn’t want to go out of her way to juice all the apples until there’s none left in the house. “Okay, Flutterbat. We gotta introduce you to Pinkie and Twilight now.” Rainbow suggested while Flutterbat nodded. “Thank you for understanding and cooperating. And don’t act so boldly next time.” “Easier said than done. And Flutterbat, if you want any more apples, you can always come to my orchard.” Looks like Flutterbat approved and so did I. “You’re too kind. Come on, Rainbow, let’s continue what we came out of the barn to do.” And with that, we leave behind Sweet Apple Acres to enter Ponyville so that we can meet Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle. As we’re walking through Ponyville, some of the ponies and fillies around us notices and stares at us because we feature a cloaked pony. Luckily for Flutterbat, they don’t know that it’s her because her yellow muzzle isn’t enough to make it out. “Are you okay with this, Flutters?” Rainbow Dash asked Flutterbat and was received a nod as her response. She’s uncomfortable with these ponies and is slightly afraid that when she’s exposed, everypony will panic and possibly take charge. “Pinkie Pie should be very welcoming. She almost always happily greets everypony who presents themselves in Ponyville. We could bump into her any moment now.” Perhaps I spoke too soon as I literally did bump into Pinkie Pie and we fell on our flanks. “Oof! Ow! Sorry, Silver. I should’ve looked where I was bouncing-“ She paused when she opens her eyes to see the cloaked pony and she immediately recognise her to blurt out a word that is heard by everypony. “SUSPICIOUS!” I immediately, if not rudely, shushed her before everypony gets ‘suspicious’. “Shh! Not so loud, you silly pony!” “Oh. Sorry, again. Why are we whispering?” “We’re trying to keep ponies from being alarmed. Flutterbat here doesn’t want to freak everypony out.” “I see. Wait, aren’t you supposed to be kept for safety.” It’s Rainbow’s turn to talk. “She was. But she wants freedom instead. We reformed her last night.” “Okey dokey lokey. So you want to be friends with me. Am I right? Or am I right?” “How did you know we’re doing that?” “Just a hunch. It’s no problem, Flutterbat. I will be your P.F.F.” She didn’t even hesitate. In turn, Flutterbat smiles at the pink pony. “No really. I pinkie promise. Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.” “Classic Pinkie.” Rainbow commented at Pinkie’s catchphrase. Technically, she stole an everyday life promise quote and turned it into a family-friendly one. “Hey, I think I’ll consider you as a new pony in Ponyville, even though technically, you came from an old pony. Not only that, you are a pony that I’ve met before, except you’re less scary comparing to when we first met.” Pinkie gasped longer than a normal gasp from a normal pony. “I should throw you a ‘Welcome to Ponyville’ party. Surely, you must love parties.” Looking at Flutterbat, she doesn’t seem thrilled for the upcoming party, but I think I understand why. Maybe I should tell Pinkie about the party settings. “I’m sure she would love the party. But if it’s gonna start early, make sure you only invite me, Flutterbat and the elements of harmony, and also make the party in secret, nopony else should know about Flutterbat until the very end. You got all that?” “I have it all in my head. You can count on me, Silver. I won’t let you down.” “Good. We have to see Twilight now. See you at the party, I guess.” “I will invite you. Don’t you worry about that.” Pinkie walked away and waved her hoof to get started building the party. Meanwhile, we trot on our hooves to reach the young alicorn’s library. The Golden Oak Library, where the book horse resides ever since she came from Canterlot. To recall, Twilight was the one who announced that Fluttershy is no more, so at first, Flutterbat was feeling nervous about showing herself at an alicorn who’s a friend of the vanished pony and the wannabe world-class Wonderbolt. We stood at the front door of the library. I decided to let Rainbow Dash do the talking because why not? “Rainbow Dash, why don’t you call for her?” “Alright. *Ahem* Twilight, are you home?” “Rainbow Dash?” Twilight responded before the door opens “Is everything oka-“ …and what’s the reaction that Twilight has when her eyes target Flutterbat? Well, let’s just say she… panicked and hid behind the door while her vision still targets us. “Ah! Flutterbat, how did you get out?! Rainbow Dash, did you let her out?! Why is she in my library?!” Twilight spoke faster than a normal pony, although not as irrational as Pinkie Pie. It sounds like she’s about to explode. “Hey, Twilight, relax. We can’t answer your questions if you’re talking that fast.” “B-but… she’s supposed to be secured in chains and not roam around freely in the outside world!” “But she-“ “It’s just to keep her out of trouble until we find a permanent reverse spell!” “Twilight?” “She already caused blood to shed out of Rainbow Dash’s open wound, she shouldn’t be out of the barn!” “Twilight!” Twilight jumped in fright when Rainbow shouts at her. I don’t think this is the first time that the princess of friendship won’t shush until she realizes that she’s been talking over another pony when they want to talk. “Oh. You wanted to talk? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to talk over you.” “Apology accepted. Let’s head inside and then we’ll explain.” “O-okay. Come in, then.” We enter Twilight’s library and sat down on different spaces. Looking at Twilight, she looks uncomfortable because there’s a vampire in her home. And then I just noticed that Twilight hasn’t greeted me yet as she just noticed me. “Hey, I think I’ve heard of you before.” “Heard of me? So you haven’t seen me in Ponyville, huh. The name’s Silver Trust, does that ring any bells?” “Silver Trust? Aren’t you the stallion that likes to help ponies?” “That’s literally the description of me. We’re getting off topic if you haven’t noticed.” “Right. We’re talking about Flutterbat here. Why is she out of captivity?” “First of all, Rainbow and I got Flutterbat reformed.” “Reformed? So she’s not gonna harm anypony?” “Yes. Doing so makes her feel guilty “Guilty? Why is she guilty?” “Because she bit Rainbow’s leg and made Fluttershy disappear.” “Oh. And why is she in my home?” “Flutterbat is now trying to befriend the elements of harmony. So far, we’ve covered befriending Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie Pie. Now, we need you to be her friend too.” Twilight took a few seconds of silence before she could say something to reassure Flutterbat “You really felt guilty, huh, Flutterbat. And you really wanted to be friends with me?” Flutterbat, not looking into the alicorn’s eyes, nodded slowly. Twilight noticed how she really felt, so she came closer to her and embraces her with comfort. “Oh, Flutterbat. I’m sorry that this is how you feel. As the princess of friendship, I’ll be your friend.” Flutterbat then proceeds to embrace the princess with a little smile and her wings wrapped around her. “Don’t you dwell on the past, okay? It’s good to take back every bad thing you caused, you’ve realized what’s been going on, but try not to take it too seriously. Now get off before I get claustraphobic by your wings.” By Twilight’s order, Flutterbat scrabbled to unwrapped her hooves and wings. Twilight’s message is believable, there’s nothing wrong in that sentence, it makes sense and it helps Flutterbat get through her difficulties. Our objective is complete, every element of harmony are now friends with a vampire pony. Now I have a new objective: contacting with the guardian of the sun, Princess Celestia, that this vampire won’t be attacking nopony. “Twilight, do you have Spike anywhere?” “Spike? He just left today to go to Rarity’s.” I stood up at the mention of Spike’s location. “Alright, I’m gonna get him to send letter to Celestia for me. Why don’t you three stay here for lunch while I reach Spike.” “Are you sure you don’t want me to do it? I don’t mind leaving my home at this point.” “Hmm. Maybe we can hit two birds with one stone. I need you to work on a talking spell so that I don’t have to guess every word Flutterbat wants to say.” “A talking spell? Hmm, I’ll look through my books and see if I can find anything.” “Cool, I’ll return to you after I’m done.” “See you later, Silver.” “Yeah, see you later.” Twilight and Rainbow greets me a farewell before I’m out the door heading to the Carousel Boutique. To be continued… Loyalty (Rainbow Dash)If the sun’s in the sky providing us with serotonin at the start of the day, then it’s about time to rise from our slumber like a Flutterbat breaking free from her 3-years of banishment. Speaking of Flutterbat, the sunlight was blinding me and so I knew it’s a good time to reveal my magenta eyes introducing my vision, the vision of my vampirized lover. It seems like she just sat next to me passively to linger until I wake up upon the morning. Not gonna lie, I can’t believe that somepony found an answer to fix my heart and Flutterbat gets to live another day. My peripheral vision sees nothing out of the ordinary, so I thought to hello like normal. “It’s good to see that you’re still here, Flutterbat. Even now, you’re willing to put me under your wing. With the reason being you’re the one at fault, huh.” Flutterbat nodded as her response. Now, ‘nothing out of the ordinary in my vision’, when I say that, I meant that there’s something off out of my area of sight. I wanted to step forward and get closer to settle down next to her, having a friendly conversation asking about how’s first appearance?, what she usually does?, does she feel better?, etc., questions like that. However, when I approach, my hoof felt an unpleasant texture of soft and moist. I looked down and finally noticed one juiceless apple on the ground, but then I looked around and saw about three hundred such apples littered all over the barn. When I saw them, I started to freak out. “Wait, hold on, how many apples did you consume?!” I checked the hayloft for remaining apples and I only found out that Flutterbat saved ten apples in one crate. Looking back at her, she had the expression of “Did I do something bad?” I answered her that question even though she didn’t have the Broca’s area to produce the words. “It’s not entirely bad, besides the fact that if they want to refill this barn, they have to work hard.” Here’s Flutterbat giving ponies, specifically, the Apple family plus my and adopted sister’s friends, Applejack and Applebloom, a hard time without shortcuts to divide their harvesting season in half. “No matter, just sit tight and I’ll clean your mess. Just in case Applejack comes to check on this barn before you two reconciled, we can’t leave conspicuous trash out in the open.” I say as I picked up every apple on the floor and shoved them all in the empty crates in ten seconds flat, not in the crate with the fresh apples which would possibly get infected if done so. There, the room is cleared of apples. What’s next is we have to wait for Silver, who imaged the plan of reformation, to start the objective of befriending. Meanwhile, I get to hang out with Flutterbat and I attempt to ask questions, although it’s questionable if she could give an answer without the ability to speak English. “Can you remember when we first encountered each other?” When it came to the yes or no questions though, it’s easy to identify the replies given. Yes, Flutterbat can recall when she first appeared in front of my eyes three years ago, identifiable by her distinguishable nod. “You know your own species, right? What do you normally do as a wild animal?” The way she responds is creative, I would say. She imitates the position of a predator plus some hissing, she pointed at the apple crate on the hayloft signifies that she craves on them, and finally pointing at the rafters denoting she lounges in when there’s nothing to work on. “Are you feeling any better lately?” Another yes or no question, but of course, she feels better since yesterday. We’ve already talked through last night and we’re reconciled already. Speaking of reconciling, we were planning to reunite her friendship with my friends, the spirits of harmony. “How are you feeling about befriendment.” Hmm, Flutterbat seems to be flinching at the thought of my friends. Even though she’s our creation, she’s still made from a mutation of a favourite mare and nopony appreciates her presence because she harmed a pony, me. At this moment, voices finally fades in coming from outside the barn door. A familiar mid-atlantic accent of a mare along with the same stallion’s voice from last night. “Wait. Isn’t this the barn where they kept that Flutterbat secure in chains until a permanent reverse spell is discovered?” I know that pony’s voice from anywhere, Rarity, a mare of generosity known for her dresses and as the owner of Carousel Boutique in Ponyville. I don’t think Flutterbat is feeling pleasant about hearing her timbre, she was shaking timidly and nervously. “Yes, this is the place. Why do you ask?” That was the stallion Silver Trust, he’s the pony who reformed Flutterbat and the only pony who thought about reforming Flutterbat. I heard he’s actually very well-known in Ponyville, but I never got any familiarity from him because I never needed his involvement, apparently that’s not the case anymore. “I’m not sure it’s a good idea to go in there, darling. I know she’s on the wall, but it’s just to avoid accidentally getting your limbs bitten.” Basically, Rarity was commenting about the possible dangers and accidents that could outcome in here. “Once I open this door, you’ll see what happened last night.” The barn door was creaking open, Rarity and Silver were about to step in. However, Flutterbat panicked at this and proceeded to react by hiding behind a block of hay. “Wait, Flutterbat, I’m sure she won’t hunt you.” I chased her to peek over her hiding spot, her underbelly facing the floor with leather wings covering her muzzle while violently jolting like she’s really scared of who’s coming. The two visitors have entered at the time and Silver was the first to address me so that I could address him back. “Morning, Rainbow. How’s yesterday’s night and today’s morning?” “Hey, Silver Trust. I can see you’re already getting started; You brought Rarity here.” And then, Rarity is the one to respond to that, complaints about why she’s brought here and other related stuff. “Getting started? For what? And where is that Flutterbat? Isn’t she supposed to be on that wall?” I answered by blurting out the hider’s hiding spot. I mean, I have to if we want her to make amends with this mare in white plus mane in violet curls. “She’s hiding behind this haybale.” Right after saying that sentence, both Silver and Rarity walked closer to peek over the hay block, exposing the bat pony’s physique. The former was completely relaxed as he’s got his eye directed at her, whereas the latter was hysterical and blurted the sight in front of her. “F-Flutterbat?” By Flutterbat catching the name being mentioned, she jolted up in an instant and proceeded to contact her back against the wall like somepony on the ledge of a Manehatten skyscraper. “You don’t have to be scared, Flutterbat. You’re looking at Ponyville’s spirit of generosity, Rarity. She’s a passive pony unless you’re hostile to her.” So Silver decides to start off the amending business by reconciling Flutterbat and Rarity, it sounded good to me. Let’s see what happens, will Rarity be friends or stay enemies with Flutterbat? The process starts with the generous pony wanting an explanation about last night. Her existence removed Fluttershy and provided Rainbow a painful wound on her right foreleg.” That explains everything in a very detailed way. Actually, it’s so detailed and very coherent that Rarity was quickly convinced not to panic. We wanted reconcilement, so we had to convince her to do so. “Right now, we attempt to get Flutterbat to befriend you and the other spirits of harmony.” “Oh. Well, now that I’ve heard what happened last night, I can do that.” Yes, now all she has to do is talk it out. Let’s see how badly this could end up being. “I’m sure anypony can be in the same situation as you, Flutterbat. In fact, somepony I know felt guilt after she’s done something awful and cruel. Eventually, you’ll recover. Sure you did the worst possible thing, but if, for example, Rainbow Dash is okay with this, then you should think so too. You’ve earned my friendship.” Wow, that went extremely well as a smile was plastered on Flutterbat’s face, I think both Silver and I were blown away by that fact. “Thank Silver Trust for finding the plan. If he hadn’t I would’ve… stabbed her.” I had to bring that up, I just couldn’t forget about that event. Then again, why bring it up when I had the chance not to? I just wanted to admit it to them, that’s all. “Oh. Rainbow Dash, that’s how far your depression gets?” “I know. I’m sorry. I just wanted to see Fluttershy again when it’s about to go so wrong.” “It’s alright, Rainbow. You just couldn’t control yourself. It’s not your fault.” Wow, I didn’t expect to be reassured by this silver-coat red-maned stallion. It seems like he really wants to and enjoys helping me. If only I’ve filled in time knowing him instead of practising for my entry in the Wonderbolt Academy all day, then I would’ve said “I know you’ll fix this.” and not “Don’t dissapoint me.” “So, Silver Trust, why did you tell me to bring this suitcase of hoods and cloaks?” Rarity asked as she unlocks her portmanteau revealing black, grey and brown cloaks. Guess I didn’t see such a huge luggage when I turn my back at the barn entrance. “Ah yes. As you know by now, only a few ponies know about this Flutterbat. I’m trying to prevent multiple ponies from freaking out and this is the solution I found.” That makes sense, as Silver and I were the only ones that know Flutterbat is passive. Do we know how other ponies will react? In Rarity’s case, we already found out that she reconciles somewhat easily with no flaw, but in the case of everypony else, including Princess Celestia, we’re not really sure. So yeah, hiding her identity until either everypony’s cool or somepony’s smart, I don’t think his solution is debatable, to be honest. “Oh, I see. So you want me to dress her up so that she could blend in in the environment. Well, you’ve just called the right pony to do just that.” “You’re talking about yourself, aren’t you?” says myself stating the obvious. “Of course I’m talking about myself. There’s no need for a question, darling.” Seconds and minutes elapsed in the course of selecting one black cloak when most of them are exactly the same, shade of color or otherwise. The chosen headgear displayed on Flutterbat’s individuality is in fashion, but in question. Would it feel less odd to whom we contact? Rarity seems to think so, so I guess the choice is surrendered for now. “So what do you wanna do next? Do you have a goal you want to achieve?” “Well, we still want Flutterbat to make amends with our other friends.” True, now with a vampire in disguise, we can hopefully reunite the elements of harmony as a whole group with one transmogrified pony. Technically, we’ll be as heroic as before, saving our land and fixing friendships with our special “friendship is magic” motto. “Okay. Stay safe, darlings.” We let Rarity off the hook because her job is done here. When she disappears, Silver is ready to announce our next visitor. “Come on, I planned to see Applejack now.” Applejack, the honest apple farmer of Sweet Apple Acres who bears my favourite alcoholic apple cider. Important facts about her include hostility towards vampire fruit bats and who unwittingly led Fluttershy to this fate. These facts made Flutterbat feel dissatisfied and whimper. In addition, Applejack’s obstination is almost inconceivable that she’s more likely to reject a vampire’s accommodation. Then again, who could possibly tell me the odds? “Don’t worry, Flutterbat. If Applejack does round up or not, either way, we can just explain it to her whenever we can.” I said as I was being my own element. We’ll knock some sense out of her if she’s being simple-minded. Flutterbat felt somewhat content enough to walk out of this barn with Silver and I. Sending ourselves to the outside world, the warm rays of light showered on us, including Flutterbat. Those factors about vampire’s exposure to sunlight apparently doesn’t apply to this mare. Maybe being infused with bat genetics doesn’t necessarily count as complete vampirism. Whatever the case, that’s a good thing, since we want to keep her alive if we want Flutterbat’s befriendment. The path to Applejack’s goes through the apple orchard. This doesn’t sound like that big of a deal, until I caught Flutterbat darting her crimson red eyes at the shiny red low-hanging fruit from one of the surrounding apple trees. She’s obviously mouth-watering for the apple, but she had the strength to pull herself away from the urge. Huh, the predicament in the barn must’ve scolded Flutterbat to avoid being so greedy or else she’d be culprit of starvation, or something like that. “Go on, Flutterbat. I’m sure Applejack won’t mind a few juiced up apples.” Says Silver who’s being generous to the bat pony. Although he gave her a free feast, Flutterbat denied collecting the gift, but I think this stallion accepted her retraction. That’s another thing to describe Silver, at first he was loyal like me when he tried to fix broken hearts and honest like Applejack when he admitted his uncertainty. Now, he’s got generosity like Rarity just now. He’s like a combination of all the elements of harmony. I had to tell him the overall rating he’s getting and I’d also like to apologize for doubting him ever since. “You’re a good pony, you know that? Left without your love, it just doesn’t feel right.” “I see. You just can’t see me being depressed all the time, huh.” “No. I can’t.” I kinda felt bad for him now. It was my depression that led to Silver building a thought, waking up and helping me all night to finally succeed in his plans before sunrise. If only we knew the idea of reformation, we would’ve fix all sorts of problems and if I ever want this stallion in my life, I’d find out where he lives to spend time knowing about him. Anyway, Applejack’s dwelling was just in front of us and with no time to waste, Silver knocked on the door like somepony with manners. “Applejack, are you home?” “Ah’m coming!” We could hear galloping hooves on a wooden surface reverberating from inside reaching to a crescendo as Flutterbat is reaching to a higher timidity. She’s courageous enough to resist fleeing until Applejack arrives. However, upon the door opening and revealing the country mare, her stubborn mind took over as she noticed the unusual pony. “Flutterbat?! You ain’t supposed to escape, you know?” Applejack said as she immediately grabbed her noose on a line and captured Flutterbat with no error to choke her. As soon as this event happened, I brutally went into action and lunged at the attacker. Forced to release her hooves off the rope, I pinned Applejack on the floor and we were quarrelling about Flutterbat’s release. I don’t think I was making progress at underlining the facts. “Hey! You let her go this instant, Applejack!” “Rainbow Dash! Why did you save her? She bit your leg, remember?” “I know she bit my leg, but it wasn’t on purpose.” “No, she did intend to attack you just to protect herself.” “But now I’m protecting her. Using my element for good, not evil.” “How can you be loyal to a bloodsucking vampire?” “Hey! She’s still the mare I love!” “You’re still into that?! Do I need to remind you Fluttershy forever gone?!” “Don’t say that ever! Yes, I was convinced who’s gone.” “Then why are you still trying to convince me that I should let her escape?” My sentences and voice tone are getting nowhere to persuade her. But not to worry, Silver is there to shed some light onto our quarrel. I believe he’s just been untangling Flutterbat’s noose based on the rope he’s holding. “Perhaps we could provide you with details from last night.” “Last night? Wait, you’re that Silver Trust pony from Ponyville, aren’t you?” “Yes, that’s me. Anyway, long story short, we reformed Flutterbat last night and now she’s feeling guilty.” Wow, I could’ve said something like that. I don’t know why I didn’t immediately said so since there’s a huge time window that I could blurt out what happened last night. “Guilty? What is she feeling guilty about?” “Existing and also the scar on Rainbow’s leg.” “Oh. I see. And why is she in front of my doorstep.” “She’s trying to befriend the elements of harmony minus the spirit of kindness. She already got Rarity’s friendship and now it’s your turn to be her friend if you’re willing to. Oh, and here’s your lasso back.” The return of the rope is just to remind Applejack about her fault at being unwelcoming. I can see her flushed skin on the cheeks due to embarrassment on how stubborn she was. “Heh heh. I guess I made a bad start, huh.” “You definitely did. Flutterbat, Applejack is passive now!” At Silver’s call of the passive vampony, Flutterbat entered the entrance to the interior of Apple family’s residence. But to avoid my friend’s possible wrath, she decides that it’s presumably best to stay away from Applejack within the large radius. So here it comes, it’s time for Fluttershy’s reconcilement with Applejack as the earth pony advances a few slow hoofsteps. “It’s alright, Flutterbat. There’s no need to feel guilty about what you did. I’m sorry that I rounded you up. I know you’d probably forgive me, so I should forgive you too for biting my friend’s leg.” Considering how badly our visit went at the start, it surprisingly turned out positive very quickly at the end. If Fluttershy is here, she’d pianissimoed a yay to “consolidate” the moment. “You know, consider her urge from the orchard, perhaps you could preserve it.” Wait just a moment, was that Silver whispering to me insisting that I should inform Applejack to feed Flutterbat? I believe that was his element of kindness lighting up for his trust. “Applejack, now that you’re friends, would you mind if Flutterbat craves on a few of your apples?” “Of course not. Ah have plenty in my orchard and in my pantry. Ah’ll grab a basket of ‘em.” She left for the kitchen and quickly came back with Flutterbat’s apples by her á la carte menu. As Applejack’s daily source of food is placed in front of its consumer, she has the ecstasy to delve straight into her meal and devour the contents in one fell swoop until the apples are empty. With Flutterbat satisfied with her little snack, I figured that it’s time for her to reach out to a new friend. “Okay, Flutterbat. We gotta introduce you to Pinkie and Twilight now.” “Thank you for understanding and cooperating. And don’t act so boldly next time.” Recommended Silver who hopes that when we see each other again, she won’t attack the pony on main focus. “Easier said than done. And Flutterbat, if you want any more apples, you can always come to my orchard.” That’s nice of her to provide a reward for being a caring vampony and not a violent monster. “You’re too kind. Come on, Rainbow, let’s continue what we came out of the barn to do.” Looks like our work in this apple farm is a thing of the past now. To be honest, I didn’t expect to get through this phase and reconcile with Applejack. But I digress, two mares down, two more to go. No turning back now, we have to meet up with Pinkie and Twilight in Ponyville. We weren’t too keen about walking through a town of perplexed ponies oddly watching us featuring an unusual pony. Flutterbat became nervous about being exposed to everypony around her. Fortunately, nopony figured it out yet, but we still have to be careful. One wrong move and the town may go into panic. “Are you okay with this, Flutters?” I asked and she yes’d as a visual, not informal, answer. “Pinkie Pie should be very welcoming. She almost always happily greets everypony who presents themselves in Ponyville. We could bump into her any moment now.” I don’t think Pinkie Pie would be a hurdle too high to vault over. Agreeing with Silver, Pinkie usually kept her smile plastered when facing any odd or scary creature, pony or otherwise. So Silver plans to encounter Pinkie. Well, what do you know, we found her. Or rather, she found us as the silver stallion and pink mare collided and collapsed. “Oof! Ow! Sorry, Silver. I should’ve looked where I was bouncing-“ Pinkie got cut off by the sight of Flutterbat in the black cloak to shout… “SUSPICIOUS!” “Shh! Not so loud, you silly pony!” Silver warned Pinkie in a quiet tone as everypony around points their eyes toward us. Luckily, they missed the most critical part of the exhibit and looked away after. “Oh. Sorry, again. Why are we whispering?” Apologized Pinkie with an indistinct voice too. Her question was answered, explaining why Flutterbat’s identity is kept secret. “We’re trying to keep ponies from being alarmed. Flutterbat here doesn’t want to freak everypony out.” “I see. Wait, aren’t you supposed to be kept for safety.” I can’t just let Silver do the talking, you know? “She was. But she wants freedom instead. We reformed her last night.” “Okey dokey lokey. So you want to be friends with me. Am I right? Or am I right?” Somehow, Pinkie had an idea what we’re doing, even though nopony told her. Could Rarity notify her? No, because we never told her to. Usually, we’d let it go, but… “How did you know we’re doing that?” “Just a hunch. It’s no problem, Flutterbat. I will be your P.F.F.” That abbreviation means pony friends forever. Wow, it’s that quick?! Flutterbat immediately approved and Pinkie’s not kidding. This piece of quotation proves it: “No really. I pinkie promise. Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.” Her favourite catchphrase of a pinkie promise. “Hey, I think I’ll consider you as a new pony in Ponyville, even though technically, you came from an old pony. Not only that, you are a pony that I’ve met before, except you’re less scary comparing to when we first met. I should throw you a ‘Welcome to Ponyville’ party. Surely, you must love parties.” Pinkie and her parties, everypony in town loves them. About Flutterbat? Um…she’s not satisfied. Silver had to apply some conditions to the party. I won’t let you down.” Alright, the welcoming party is on its way. In the meantime, Twilight should be our next opponent. It’s time to confront her and finish this assignment. “We have to see Twilight now. See you at the party, I guess.” “I will invite you. Don’t you worry about that.” Twilight shouldn’t be far from where we’re standing now. We’ve gone this far, we can’t turn back now. It’s now or never, reconcilement vs. disharmony. The princess of friendship was an alicorn importantly known as the transmutator who accidentally vampirized Fluttershy. Even though results were submitted, she was constantly rummaging her library for every treatise of spells finding a solution to revert from bat to pony permanently. Due to Twilight’s failures, she might not wanna be friends with Flutterbat, let alone trust her for a second. The outcome may not go so well, but that’s just a speculation. “Rainbow Dash, why don’t you call for her?” I guess Silver also came to a resolution that I should do something and not let everypony do the talking. “Alright. *Ahem* Twilight, are you home?” “Rainbow Dash?” That’s her mentioning my name being surprised that I’m here. “Is everything oka- Ah! Flutterbat, how did you get out?! Rainbow Dash, did you let her out?! Why is she in my library?!” It’s not the first time I’ve seen Twilight overreact at an unintentional situation, the last time she went insane was when she’s close to failing an assignment. If we want to atone Flutterbat with her, Silver needs to calm her down. “Hey, Twilight, relax. We can’t answer your questions if you’re talking that fast.” Silver informed, but she dismissed asking the questions and ranting to chain her back on. “B-but… she’s supposed to be secured in chains and not roam around freely in the outside world!” “But she-“ Silver had to call her three times for attention. Wow, and I thought Celestia, her teacher and mentor, taught her scholars to not ramble over ponies. “Twilight!” “Oh. You wanted to talk? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to talk over you.” “Let’s head inside and then we’ll explain.” We made entry into Golden Oak to sit on our flanks. At this point, Twilight’s greeting to Silver is presented. “Hey, I think I’ve heard of you before.” “Heard of me? So you haven’t seen me in Ponyville, huh. The name’s Silver Trust, does that ring any bells?” Huh, perhaps she hasn’t got Silver’s aid either, I’m not the only one of the six. “We’re talking about Flutterbat here. Why is she out of captivity?” Here’s the part where we explained everything to her from start to finish. “First of all, Rainbow and I got Flutterbat reformed.” “Reformed? So she’s not gonna harm anypony?” “Yes. Doing so makes her feel guilty” “Guilty? Why is she guilty?” “Because she bit Rainbow’s leg and made Fluttershy disappear.” “Oh. And why is she in my home?” “Flutterbat is now trying to befriend the elements of harmony. So far, we’ve covered befriending Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie Pie. Now, we need you to be her friend too.” That did it. All of that dialogue was enough to be convincing: Flutterbat needs support. “You really felt guilty, huh, Flutterbat. And you really wanted to be friends with me?” Her answer was a small nod, she’s still feeling it up to this point. Twilight suddenly felt benevolence to Flutterbat like she had to. “Oh, Flutterbat. I’m sorry that this is how you feel. As the princess of friendship, I’ll be your friend. Don’t you dwell on the past, okay? It’s good to take back every bad thing you caused, you’ve realized what’s been going on, but try not to take it too seriously.” Words can express reconcilement to anypony guilt-ridden, including words from the alicorn princess herself embedded with the magic of friendship. This befriending business became successful, kind of. The elder sun lord herself has yet to appear and atone. Fortunately, Silver thought ahead of everypony. “Twilight, do you have Spike anywhere?” “Spike? He just left today to go to Rarity’s.” “Alright, I’m gonna get him to send letter to Celestia for me. Why don’t you three stay here for lunch while I reach Spike.” “Are you sure you don’t want me to do it? I don’t mind leaving my home at this point.” If there’s no reason for her stay, Twilight will take the leave. He announced an objective for her, but none of us would expect this next line being mentioned. “I need you to work on a talking spell so that I don’t have to guess every word Flutterbat wants to say.” “A talking spell? Hmm, I’ll look through my books and see if I can find anything.” If there is a treatise about giving creature’s without words Broca’s area, I would be blown away. “Cool, I’ll return to you after I’m done.” “See you later, Silver.” “Yeah, see you later.” Silver trotted out of the library to Rarity’s Boutique in Ponyville, Twilight scanned her bookshelves for the requested spell and I sat next to Flutterbat being loyal to her for support. To be continued…
Reforming (Silver Trust)It was that night. “Hey. Thank you.” “You’re welcome.” To be continued…
Comforting (Rainbow Dash)I knew it was the wrong way to use my act of kindness. To be continued…
Recovering (Flutterbat)Ponies consider me as a scary monster, some fear me but are brave enough to stay, while still others leave me be to avoid death. To be continued…
Amends (Silver Trust)This morning, I awoke. To be continued…
Loyalty (Rainbow Dash)If the sun’s in the sky providing us with serotonin at the start of the day, then it’s about time to rise from our slumber like a Flutterbat breaking free from her 3-years of banishment.
