Equestria, after discovering a portal to Earth, has established truces and trade-agreements with Earth. This has allowed advanced technology not achievable in Equestria to be handed over. With this technology, comes Simulation Technology, allowing a group of people to be in a simulated world of their choosing.

The first test they conduct involves the students at the School of Magic and Friendship.
