It has been more evident after he had abandoned those of the Nimbus Resort & Casino to die by Dalek gunfire and shooting his now former friend Jack Harkness, The Doctor had been on the run within the Time Vortex. Pushing those who help him and creating new enemies, all of time being warped and twisted; he has little choice but to seek help from a mare that reminded him of one of his more infamous losses.
