A New Threat

Diamond Radiance was doing very well in school and had been passing her classes with great excellence. Flurry was proud of her daughter and her cousin, Emerald Sparkle. Twelve years ago, before she died, Flurry Heart's aunt, Twilight Sparkle, asked her to take care of Emerald.

Flurry was waiting to hear about their day when they got home, but today was different. Guards knocked on the door and brought Emerald and Diamond inside. Both of them were injured badly and Diamond was shaking nervously.

"WHAT HAPPENED?", Flurry asked with a shriek.

"Your majesty, their school was hit by streams of fire that fell from the sky without warning. Windows were shattered, and doors were sealed shut by melted metal in the frames. We got them out alive, but Emerald is still unconscious from smoke inhalation."

Flurry questioned the guard if there was anything that would help determine who was behind the attack, but the guard shook her head.

2 hours later...

Emerald was finally awake and their injuries were almost healed. Flurry knew that the time was now right for Diamond to learn the truth. She told Emerald to bring Diamond to her room. When Emerald and Diamond arrived in Flurry's room, Diamond noticed that her mother was dressed as a soldier and the uniform had a symbol that looked like a gold cross in front of a yellow star.

"What are you wearing, Mom?", Diamond asked Flurry Heart.

"This, my precious Diamond, is my uniform from my days of fighting in the Christian Fleet.", she answered.

"The what?"

Flurry nodded to Emerald who spoke next.

"Many years before you were born, Eqqus and many other planets were at war with a dangerous entity. This entity, called Satan, was plotting to rule the universe and spell certain doom. There was a group of soldiers from all over the universe who fought against Satan to make sure peace was kept. They called themselves the Christian Fleet. Flurry was part of this fleet, but I was not. Some of the other soldiers that were involved in our branch lost their lives after the war ended and Satan was purified. Some of them included my mother, and your Great Aunt, Twilight Sparkle, and several of her friends. With them were Flurry's parents and the original rulers of Equestria."

Diamond was stunned by all of this. She never knew her mom was so brave.

Flurry prepared an emergency message to the fleet and sent it out, hoping that this unknown threat could be stopped.
