Hide and Seek

Princess Twilight Sparkle called you and her friends to her castle. Is it an emergency? Is the world in danger? Is there a villain trying to destroy us all?

"I called you all here for a little friendship bonding exercise!" The purple pony looks very ecstatic. "We're all going to play hide and seek!"

"Uh, Twilight...? Aren't we a little too old to be playing hide and seek?"

"Oh, silly Nonny. You're never too old to play hide and seek!" Pinkie Pie looks at you all excited.

"Ah think it's a good idea to a break from all that world savin' we've been doin'."

"I agree with Applejack. It could be fun." Rarity remarks at the country pony.

"Anon, you'll be the seeker." Twilight points at you.

"Why me!?"

"Because it'll be fun and I don't lose!" Rainbow Dash gets an idea. "Look, we'll put money on this."

"Ok, I'm listening."

"If you find us before sundown, we'll all give you 10 bits each. But if WE win, you owe US sixty bits."

"Alright, you got yourselves a deal." You spit into your hand and shake everyone's hooves, but Rarity hesitates. "*Sigh* This one is clean, Rarity." Rarity shakes your clean hand.

"Ok, I have one rule: don't go outside of Ponyville."

The ponies agree to your terms.

"Alright, count to 1,000." Twilight says before they all leave the castle.

You cover your eyes and start counting "1... 2... 3..." You can hear them run out of the door.

"998... 999... 1,000. Ready or not, here I come!" You say but no one can hear you.

You walk around Ponyville and decide to go to Sweet Apple Acres to find Applejack at least.

"Hey there, Anon." Applebloom trots up to you. "What're ya doin' here?"

"Oh, I'm playing hide and seek with your sister and her friends. Have you seen Applejack...?

"Well, Ah didn't see mah sister, but Ah saw somepony into one of those trees." Applebloom says while pointing to the huge field of trees.

"Umm Applebloom, I don't have time to look around all of them. Can you say which row?"

"The third row on the right."

"Thanks, AB."

You walk into the apple tree field until you find a certain cyan-colored pegasus munching on an apple.

"Ah hah, found you Rainbow Dash!"

"Darnnit, how did you find me?"

"Thank Applebloom. Now, let's find the others." Rainbow Dash looks defeated as she follows you along.

You and Rainbow Dash search high and low for any sign of your friends. You walk up to Fluttershy's cottage to see a suspicious-looking group of animals trying to hide something.

"Alright, fess up. Where's Fluttershy?" You ask the group of animals.

"Huh? Fluttershy's not home, but I can take a message." The voice coming from the bear is someone clearly trying to deepen their voice.

"Ok, time to use drastic measures. Angel, where's Fluttershy?" Rainbow Dash asks the little white rabbit. Angel points behind the big bear and you and Rainbow Dash push him out of the way. You find Fluttershy covering her head with her hooves.

"You know the impersonating a non-talking animal thing is the oldest trick in the book, right?" You tell the yellow-colored pony.

"I thought that would work, but Angel sold me out." Angel has a smug look on his face.

"Two down, four to go. Let's go find Rarity."

The three of you go into Rarity's shop and search all around it. Nothing. There's no trace of her. Except her cat is still here.

"Umm... Opalescence, where's Rarity?" Fluttershy asks the little cat. Opal meows. "The spa...?"

"Of course she's relaxing at the spa while we're playing a game!"

"We don't know, Dashie. She might be hiding there." You all make your way to the spa.

The blue and pink spa ponies greet you three with a smile.

"Welcome!" They both say at the same time.

"Hey, has Rarity come here?

Aloe and Lotus Blossom look nervous.

"She was here yesterday?" Aloe says with a crack in her voice.

"Fluttershy, give them the stare." Rainbow Dash requested.

"Oh, I'm really sorry about this..." Fluttershy gives the dreaded stare.

"Ok, ok, she's in the hot tub room!" The spa ponies cower in fear.

"Atta girl, Fluttershy." You say while petting her.

You look inside the hot tub room and see nothing. However, you notice an out of place set of towels with something poking out of it. You walk up and take off the towels and see Rarity.

"Oh come on, that was a good disguise; the towels blend in with my coat! How did you know it was me!?"

"It was preeeety obvious and your horn was poking it." Rainbow Dash remarks.

"Alright, that's half of you! Let's try to find Pinkie Pie."

You look around Ponyville looking for Pinkie Pie because she could be hiding anywhere. You go inside Sugarcube Corner and ask the Cakes if they've seen Pinkie Pie. You go up to her room and you can hear an audible giggle coming from somewhere. You look around you still don't see her. You think to yourself "She couldn't be right?" You slowly creep up to her bed and look under it and-to no one's surprise-Pinkie Pie was hiding under her bed.

"Aw man, what gave it away?"

"You were giggling." Fluttershy tells Pinkie Pie.

"Welp, it looks like I lose. Oh, well! Lalalala!" Pinkie Pie is really optimistic about being caught. You brush it off and decide to look for Twilight.

You look all around and there is no sign of her.

"Hey, what if she's in somewhere a little obvious." Rarity suggests.

"Good thinking, Rare. Maybe she's in the castle." You make into the castle and split up to find Twilight. You can't find her at all. You all go into the kitchen where Spike is making food.

"Hey Spike, have you seen Twilight anywhere?"

"N-no, I-I-I haven't seen her."

"Then, why are you sweating?" Rainbow Dash interrogates Spike.

"Let me handle this, darling." Rarity walks up to Spike. She bats her eyelids and fixes her mane.

"Spikey-wikey, won't you be a dear and tell me where Twilight is, hmm?" Spike ironically looks unfazed.

"Your charms do not work on me anymore! Away from me, witch!" Spike points at Rarity.

"What!? That usually works." Rarity looks disappointed.

You suddenly get an idea. "Guys, follow me!" You lead everypony to the library.

"What are you gonna do?" Fluttershy asks.

"You'll see." You have a wide smirk on your face. You take a book from the shelf and swap it out with another book in the wrong section. "Three, two, one."

"OUT OF PLACE BOOK!" You hear from somewhere else. Twilight bursts into the room.

"Caught ya!"

"Oh, that's cheating." Twilight gives you a cute pouty face.

"Oh, suck it up. Where were you, anyway?"

"I was in the cupboard in the kitchen."

"Man, good hiding spot. Only one to go."

It's getting late. It's almost sundown. You refuse to lose to the ponies.

"Looks like we're gonna win." Rainbow Dash says with a smug grin.

"Ok, so we've asked around and there is no sign of AJ." That is when it hits you. "Maybe she's not hiding someWHERE, but maybe in someTHING!" You search around until you notice some barrels. You lift every single one of them until one of the barrels is heavier than the previous ones.

"Hey, guys! Let's roll this barrel down a hill."

"Oh heck no, you better not!"

You hear a familar-sounding voice coming from the barrel. You put it down and open it.

"There you are, AJ!"

"Dagnabit!" Applejack exclaims

"How long were you hiding in there?" Twilight asks.

"Ah was there for hours. Ah was about to leave and get something to eat!"

You found all of them. You do a little victory dance, but since you can't dance you stop immediately.

"I win, you lose. Humans rule. ponies drool." You reach your hand out snap your fingers. "Pay up." The girls all sigh and pay you your owed money. You, sir, are sixty bits richer.

"You guys wanna play again sometime?" You ask the ponies. They all nod in agreement.

"I'll be seeker next time!" Pinkie Pie exclaims.

You have a nice, good laugh together.
