The hot breath of the mare beside her forced Rainbow Dash to inhale deeply. It was pain, but only because she was sore. Her body ached, and she felt like she’d come apart at the seams. Though she didn’t want it to stop. Fleetfoot was giving her tongue and Rainbow’s cliterous a work-out. Warm. That’s what Rainbow felt. Her body was hot, and she felt like it would overheat the entire room if she didn’t stop soon.
The slightest touch of Fleetfoot sent Rainbow spiraling. She was not lucid, she was trapped in a corporeal dimension between pleasure and lust. Desire. She was consumed by it, though not consciously. Rainbow had long since lost the capacity for rational thought. She was instinct, sex, those were all that remained. Fleetfoot barely registered for her, and it was as if there was no external stimuli. It was like her brain was being directly stimulated thus causing her to hallucinate this cacophony of orgasms with Fleetfoot. No. This was real, and happening. And she did not want it to end. Pleasure had washed over her body so many times over the hours she spent with Fleetfoot. It didn’t matter that her body ached so vigorously. It didn’t matter that she felt like she could pass out at any moment. Rainbow did not want the sex to end so quickly.
Fleetfoot was slave, and hers was an immortal master. The endless desire of a young mare. Fleetfoot was a willing servant, she didn’t notice that her head became entrapped between Rainbow’s legs. Her lips glued to Rainbow’s cliterous. She was hot. The warmth of Rainbow only turned her on and she worked her tongue vigorously. Rainbow moaned like she had moaned so many times that night. Hearing the pleasure of the other mare made Fleetfoot smiles as she slipped her tongue inside of Rainbow.
This was the death blow. Like a great sword strike against a valiant warrior that finally made him come tumbling down. Rainbow was dead. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head as hot liquid squirted down Fleetfoot’s throat. She was incorporeal, and did not know what had happened to her body. There was nothing, a void where nothing could enter. Rainbow was the void and she felt at peace. There was a calmness inside her, and felt like she could stay that way forever. She wasn’t alone though. Rainbow couldn’t quite make it out, but there was someone with her. She was pulled back, and a breath escaped her mouth as she suddenly felt very tired.
Fleetfoot was released from her prison, and she snuggled up to Rainbow. Rainbow smiled as she felt the warmth of the fur from the mare beside her. It was a different warmth from before. Physical, but that’s not why Rainbow enjoyed it. She found comfort in that warmth. It was like coming home, it was very similar to what Rainbow would describe as love. It was a distant feeling though, and she didn’t know why. Fleetfoot was sleeping right next to her. She could hear the breathing of the other pegasus.
No, she was not here. That love was not here. She didn’t know why. That warmth felt so right, so inviting. It completed her, and yet she felt incomplete. Fleetfoot was beside Rainbow, but Rainbow did not feel as if she was there in that moment in that hotel room. Her mind was adrift, wandering the astral plane to find the place where that warmth came from.
Rainbow’s mind was dark, and she found it very hard to even conceive of whom she could be thinking of. Mom? Dad? No, Rainbow loved her parents, but she hadn’t thought of them in that way for years. Besides this warmth was different, it felt more personal. It felt like it was specifically for her. She tried to peel back the foggines that shielded her mind. There was nothing else. It was just Rainbow, and she felt herself slipping. She could figure it out later, or really it didn’t matter to begin with. Why did that warmth matter anyways? Love? What was love anyways except a certain set of chemical reactions in the brain? She didn’t need love. And if she did, she could get it with any mare she wanted.
Rainbow sank deeper into the darkness and her mind was becoming blank. Conscious thought no longer seemed possible for her. This is the end I suppose. She would have found that thought funny if she wasn’t too tired to laugh. It was her choice to come here after all. It was her choice to have sex. The darkness slowly shrank away. Why was that? Why had she chosen to have sex? Why did she think this was the end? The end of what? The answers felt distant, and Rainbow didn’t even know if she really had them.
She re-evaluated. Okay, what do I know? She had sex with Fleetfoot. That was an irrefutable fact, and one that still freshly ached across her body. She was in a hotel room. She could remember that, she could even remember Fleetfoot paying for the room at the front desk. The staff pony had lazily taken the bits and handed them the room key.
Why a hotel then? Rainbow was confused. Why Fleetfoot for that matter? That felt wrong to her, though the explanation as to why eluded her. Everything was elusive, even her own thoughts it seemed. She tried desperately to grasp at anything, and yet it felt like her mind was empty. Sex. Empty for everything except sex. She didn’t understand. Sex should make her happy, she’d just spent countless hours engaging in exactly that with Fleetfoot. But it felt bitter. It felt like a betrayal, not just of someone else, but her as well. Why though?
Agony. That’s what Rainbow felt. She couldn’t place why she felt this way. Why what had happened now seemed to bother her. For that matter, why hadn’t it bothered her before? It dawned on Rainbow that she didn’t exactly understand what she’d done. She’d had sex, that was true. But it was more than that. It had to be, otherwise why would she be so concerned?
Rainbow pulled away from Fleetfoot. And that felt good. It no longer felt like a knife was grinding into her back. Except the pain was not gone. Pulling away only made her feel worse, like if she hadn’t messed up she wouldn’t be here with Fleetfoot in the first place.
That warmth, that love. And she knew for certain that feeling did not come from Fleetfoot. Rainbow got up and sat on the bed. Where did it come from? From whom did Rainbow associate that feeling? It was love. That was what Rainbow remembered. It was the reception and giving of love that created that warm feeling in Rainbow. She realized that Fleetfoot couldn’t even serve as a simulacrum for that warmth. It could never come from her, or anybody else. A light engulfed Rainbow’s mind and banished the darkness. There was only one pony it could be.
“Fluttershy.” The name was spoken into the darkness. And Rainbow suddenly remembered everything that had happened. The Wonderbolts. Fleetfoot had asked her to go for drinks after practice. She’d gotten drunk and then had sex with Fleetfoot.
No, she chose to get drunk. She chose to have sex with Fleetfoot. She chose to cheat on Fluttershy. And her mind was racing. It almost made her wish to go back to her previous state of mental dilapidation. No, not to Fluttershy. She had to leave. She couldn’t be here anymore. But despite thinking rapidly Rainbow didn’t know what to do. She knew she had to tell Fluttershy, but now? In the middle of the night was she really going to show up at her girlfriends house and tell her she cheated on her?
Yeah...yeah I am. Because I love you at least that much Fluttershy. Rainbow closed the hotel room door gently, and she made her way outside into the cold Cloudsdale night. She was off and soaring over the clouds. The cold stung against her fur and made her eyes run, it didn’t matter though. She continued to fly and after a few hours she reached Ponyville. By then the sun was barely starting to rise in the sky.
Rainbow landed in front of Fluttershy’s cottage. With trepidation she knocked.
“Rainbow Dash!” Fluttershy had a warm smile. “I’m so glad you’re here! Please come in!”
Rainbow stepped inside and Fluttershy closed the door. “I need to tell you something Fluttershy.”
“Hmmm?” Fluttershy was humming as she walked into the kitchen.
“Fluttershy, I cheated on you. I had sex with another mare. I had sex with Fleetfoot. I cheated on you, Fluttershy. I’m so sorry,” Rainbow said.
Fluttershy was motionless. A wave of silence engulfed both mares, and the cottage suddenly became like a death trap. Rainbow felt like if the Silence was not broken soon they would surely both die. The soft whimpering of Fluttershy prompted Rainbow to approach her.
“I always felt like you would cheat on me, Dashie. I always thought you at least had it in you. I’m just sorry I ever fooled myself into thinking otherwise,” Fluttershy said. “I’m sorry. Can you please leave?”
Rainbow said nothing. Even as she closed the cottage door she could still hear Fluttershy whimpering inside. This was all fucked. Fucked. That’s all Rainbow could think about right now. How completely totally fucked this situation was. She had fucked up, that was for certain. But could she un-fuck this up, now that was the question. An idea formed in Rainbow’s mind and she flew off.
Rainbow flew to Sweet Apple Acrs and caught Bug Mac in the middle of pulling a cart full of apple barrels out of the barn.
“Hey, Big Mac. Where’s Applejack?” Rainbow said.
“She’s inside,” Big Mac said.
Rainbow went to the house and saw Applejack eating some pancakes with applesauce.
“Good to see yeah, Rainbow Dash! Why in tarnation are ya here so early girl?” Applejack said.
Rainbow gulped. “Applejack...I cheated on Fluttershy. I’ve already told her that, just an hour ago actually. Please, I need to talk with you. But I’m so tired right now, so could I rest in your room until I’m better?”
Applejack was silent. Then she slowly pushed her plate away from the edge of the table. “Follow me.”
Rainbow followed Applejack into her bedroom. Both Apple Bloom and Granny Smith were still sleeping.
Applejack sighed as Rainbow got into her bed. “I’m gonna go finish breakfast then help Big Mac on the farm. We’ll probably be done around seven tonight. Though…if you wake up before then just give me a holler. Sleep well, Rainbow Dash.”
Rainbow drifted off into unconsciousness. Her mind was blank as she slept. After a few hours she woke just as the sun was beginning to set. She sleepily rolled out of bed and went downstairs.
Rainbow waves to Big Mac, who was drinking a glass of cider. “Hey, where’s Applejack?”
“She’s outside checking the apple trees,” he said.
Rainbow went outside to look for her friend after a few minutes she found Applejack still bucking apple trees.
“This isn’t talk I want Apple Bloom to hear, so follow me a little ways into the orchard,” Applejack said. Rainbow followed her for a few minutes until they were far enough away. Applejack sat down under one tree and gestured for Rainbow to sit across from her.
Applejack sighed. “Now why don’t you tell me exactly what happened.”
“Well...I cheated on Fluttershy. I...I had sex with another mare. Fleetfoot, she’s a Wonderbolt. She’s the mare I had sex with. I had sex with her last night, and afterwards I flew back from Cloudsdale to Ponyville to tell Fluttershy. And I told her just this morning. Applejack, she said she always thought I would cheat on her. I wanna make up with her, but I have no idea what to do.”
“And you thought you could use the honest advice of a friend?” Applejack laughed. “Knowing you Rainbow Dash I suspect you came here to get your ass kicked.”
“What? Why the hell would I do that?” Rainbow said.
“Ya just told me why. I don’t doubt your capacity to feel terrible right now. I do doubt your motivations for coming to me. Here’s what I think. I think you figured that out of all your friends I’d be the only one to get down to it and kick ya in the teeth. And the truth is I did want to do that. At first I was just confused when you spoke with me this morning. Then I was angry. I couldn’t believe you’d do something like that to poor Fluttershy. I wanted to break your jaw and never see ya again! But...I can’t do that to ya.”
Applejack was silent, and Rainbow didn’t say anything as the earth pony took off her hat and placed it beside her.
“I was so angry at you Rainbow Dash. But I let that go. Because you’re my friend. Because I know you’re hurting right now. And besides kicking yer ass wouldn’t do a whole lotta good anyways. We’ve been through too much for me to hate you, Rainbow. It might be horrible to say, but you’d have to do a whole lot worse for me to ever really hate you. And of course my heart goes out to Fluttershy as well. But it’s not my place to make amends with her. That’s up to you. And that’s up to her,” Applejack said.
“What do I do? What do I say to her?”
“I don’t know. But I do know if you want her to forgive you, and you want even a chance of being able to get back with her, you need to speak with her. You need to figure this out together. You need to figure out why she said she thought you’d cheat on her,” Applejack said. “And you need to figure out why you cheated on her in the first place. You can only work through these things by talking about them. You should never bottle up your feelings, Rainbow Dash.”
“Okay,” Rainbow said. “So, talk to her. That’s what I should do? Will that really work?”
“Maybe it will maybe it won’t. Talking is the only way you can ever get to the bottom of this. It’s the only way ya can ever hope that Fluttershy will forgive ya. Talk with Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash. That’s the best thing to do for the both of ya.”
Rainbow nodded. “Thanks, Applejack.”
“Anytime Sugarcube. Anyways, see ya around,” Applejack said as she walked back to the house. With that Rainbow was off flying and she made her way back to Fluttershy’s house. The moon was high in the sky by the time she knocked on the cottage door.
“Hi, Rainbow Dash.” Fluttershy didn’t look at her. “Do you want to come in?”
“Yes,” Rainbow said. “We need to talk.”
Fluttershy lead Rainbow to her couch, and then she pulled up a chair and sat in front of Rainbow.
“I’ve thought a lot about what you said this morning,” Fluttershy said. “I’m sorry for what I said to you. That’s wasn’t right of me. But it hurt so much, Dashie. I love you, and it hurts knowing you cheated on me. Though I appreciate you telling me. Really, thank you for your honesty, Dashie.”
“Of course.” Rainbow gulped. “I think we should talk about what happened. I’m sorry for what I did. I won’t make excuses for it, but I really do regret cheating on you, Fluttershy.”
“That’s a start, I suppose,” Fluttershy said.
“Why did you say you always thought I would cheat on you?”
Fluttershy looked at the floor. “You’re so strong. Even when we were fillies you were always the fastest pony I knew. It’s not just that. You’re so much bolder than I am. You can’t settle for serenity and calmness, you need to always be doing something.”
“I don’t understand,” Rainbow said. “What does this have to do with what you said?”
Fluttershy let out a sigh. “I’m not fast enough for you. At least that’s what I’ve felt like for a while. Even before we started dating. As a filly I thought you were only my friend because you felt bad for me. I know that’s silly. But I couldn’t shake that feeling for the longest time.”
“That’s not true though! I was friends with you because of how awesome you are! I asked you to be my girlfriend because I love you! I wouldn’t do that out of pity, Fluttershy,” Rainbow said.
“I know,” Fluttershy said, meeting Rainbow’s eyes. “But that’s how I felt. So, ever since we started dating I’ve had this fear that I was never enough for you. That no matter what I did, I could never satisfy you. And that scared me so much. Because I really do love you, Dashie. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. But…”
Rainbow didn’t say anything as tears formed in Fluttershy’s eyes. Eventually she wiped them away and spoke again.
“I love you, Dashie. And I’m so very sorry for what I said this morning. I didn’t mean it. I said it out of anger and confusion. Please, just know I’m sorry for having ever said it to begin with.”
Rainbow wiped away her own tears. “Of course. Hearing you say that did hurt me. But that doesn’t really matter considering what I’d just told you. I’m sorry.”
Fluttershy sniffled as she wiped away her tears.
“I guess I don’t know fully why I cheated on you,” Rainbow said. “I got drunk and then had sex with Fleetfoot. I wanted to have sex with her. So, I chose to get drunk. There’s no excuse for that.”
Fluttershy sniffled. “Okay.” Her voice was quiet.
“All I know for sure is that I love you, Fluttershy. I didn’t cheat on you because I stopped loving you,” Rainbow said. “It was lustful what I did with Fleetfoot. I don’t love her. And all I could think about afterwards was the mare I really loved. You, Fluttershy. I was thinking about you, and how much I’d rather be laying next to you in bed. I love you. And I fucked up...I’m sorry.”
They were both silent for a few minutes before Rainbow continued.
“There’s no excuse for what I did. And I can promise you it will never happen again.” Rainbow paused. “I was horny. And I wasn’t honest about that. And I wasn’t honest with you. About sex. I guess I just didn’t really feel satisfied afterwards. And instead of talking to you about that I just bottled it up. And I have no self control so I ended up cheating on you.”
“You can always talk to me, Dashie. I really wish you had,” Fluttershy said
.
“I know. I’m a fucking idiot so I thought I could handle it on my own,” Rainbow said. “I’m sorry for cheating on you, Fluttershy. And I’m sorry for not talking to you in the first place.”
Fluttershy got up from her chair and sat down by Rainbow. “I forgive you. But from now on I want both of us to make an honest effort to speak with each other .Not just sex, anything that’s on our mind. If you can promise me you’ll do that, and to never cheat on me again, I’d like to stay with you.”
Rainbow smiled. “I promise.”
Fluttershy hugged Rainbow before pulling away. “I’m not really ready for intimacy beyond that, Dashie. But in time we can work up to other things.”
“And we should talk about that as well,” Rainbow said. “I mean it’s important right?”
“Yes,” Fluttershy said. “It’s very important to discuss these things together.”
Rainbow smiled. “So, do you wanna talk about it now?”
