About a month ago, Crab Apple, Dizzy Hooves, Basalteus Aloysius Pie and Smoky Mirror defeated a pack of timber wolves. Now, they face deadlier challenges: the sorts they can't just blow up in incredibly dangerous displays of loyalty and friendship.

Cruel candymakers, dastardly dukes, alcoholic artists, annoying alliteration. Villains and victims abound. And while the four ponies and their friends in Ponyville are confident they can persevere, things are getting rather awkward for them. Maybe even a bit dangerous.

And while they handle these matters, trying to keep the small, struggling town from failing, a strange gray mare in the forest plots the final blow. The blow that may tear Ponyville apart forever.
