“Once up one time… in the magical land of Equestria. There were two legal sisters who ruled together and created harmony for all the land, to do this the eldest used her unicorn powers to raise the sun at dawn, the younger brought out the moon to begin the night. Thus, the two sisters maintain balance for their kingdom and their subjects all the different types of ponies but as time went on, the younger sister became resentful. The ponies relished and played in the day her elder sister brought forth but, shunned and slept through her beautiful night. One fateful day, the younger unicorn refused to lower the moon to make way for the dawn, the elder sister tried to reason with her but the bitterness in the young ones heart had transformed her into… bla bla bla. What a lot of crap. Who write this stuff? Nightmare Moon? Eternal night? Elements of harmony? What a lot of crap.” He slam the book together and threw it on the table. “I regret borrowing that book from the library.”
Sitting on a couch in a small town called Ponyville, was a human by the name of Sebastian Johnston. He got to the magical land while walking through a forest on earth, when he got out of the forest he had ended up in Equestria, he has lived in Ponyville for a year now, mostly he keeps to himself. He was your normal human, 25 years old, normal body with black hair.
“Man, I didn’t think this place could be any weirder, but I had to read this stupide book.” He got up and stretch his body. “Man, I need a drink.” He walk to the kitchen.
Once there he open up his fridge and pulled out six packs with griffon beer. “This place might suck but the griffon can sure make beers.” He said with a smile while he closed the door. “These ponies can hold their liquor, the strongest they have is apple sider and for me it’s taste like soap.” He then walk to door.
Once outside he sat down on the chair that was on his porch, he placed his beer near the chair, he then put his feet on the railing and took a bear, he pop the cork and took a sip from the bottle. “Ah, now this is beer.” He then noticed that it was dark, and he couldn’t see any pony around. “Huh, that strange, where is everyone?” He them remember. “That’s right, today is the summer sun celebration. Ponies can stay up late so they can watch Celestia ‘raise the sun’.” He couldn’t help but snort. “What a lot of crap.” He took another sip from the bottle, he happened to look up at the moon and notice something. “That’s weird, where is that picture of ‘mare in the moon’? It should be there.” He look closer and saw that it was gone, he eventually shrugged it off. “Who care.” He then drank the rest of the bottle, once it was empty he let out a big burp.
Sebastian was about to take another one when a voice interrupted him. “Well, isn’t this interesting.” Sebastian look at where the voice was coming from and standing not far from his house was mare that kind of look like Celestia but this one was different.
The mare was dress in some kind of armour with a mix of a blue dress? Her fur was black, her hair and tail was blue with star in it, she had horn and wings, so she was alicorn.
“Who the hell are you?” Sebastian asked the mare as he pick up another bear.
She was shock he didn’t know. “You don’t know who I am?” He just shook his head. “I am princess Nightmare Moon, the rightful ruler over Equestria.”
Sebastian couldn’t help but think that she was trying to convince herself more than him. “Whatever you say lady.” He said while popping the cork of his beer, he then took a sip.
Nightmare Moon was furious that he was ignoring her. “How dare you talk to me like that.”
Sebastian just gave her a bored look. “It’s easy considering I just did it, I did to Celestia and I did it to you.” Nightmare was now trembling with anger, no one had ever talk to her like this before and she didn’t like it. “So, what brings you here your ‘highness’?” He asked her.
“I wanted to see the creatures that lived in this town before took care of my sister student and her friend so I could make sure that the night would last forever.” She said while throwing her arms up in the air.
Sebastian couldn’t help but what a drama queen she was, which was Rarity job. “So, you want to kill ever living being in Equestria. That’s just great, I started to like it here.”
Nightmare mood dropped her arms when she heard that. “What? I don’t want to kill anyone, I just want the ponies of Equestria to enjoy my night.”
“And that means you are killing everyone in Equestria.” Sebastian took his feet off the railing and place them on the floor, he then rested his arms in them. “Let me ask you something your highness, what do you think would happened when crops don’t get any sunlight?” Nightmare was about to answer but Sebastian beat her to the answer. “They will wither and died, that means that ponies don’t get food. And what do you think will happened when it gets to cold her? Ponies and I will freeze to death, is that what you want? To kill everyone in Equestria."
Nightmare had trouble find the right words. “No, I don’t want to kill every pony, I just want them to enjoy my night.”
“Yeah, if you keep the moon up all the time you will eventually kill everyone. That will be your legacy, the princess who killed every being in Equestria just because she was jealous of her sister, just because they enjoyed the day more than the night.” He let out a snort. “Give me a break.” He leaned back in his chair and took a sip from his beer.
“How do you know that Celestia is my sister? I didn’t mention that.”
“I read it in book a couple of minutes ago.” She nodded. “You still haven’t answer my question, do you really want to kill everyone in Equestria?”
Nightmare threw har arms to the side. “No, I just want ponies to enjoy my night, I don’t want to kill them. I just… I just want…” Her arms fell to the side as she stumble to Sebastian porch and sat down. “I don’t know what I want right now.” She said while burring her face in her hands.
Sebastian couldn’t help but feel bad for her. “Look,” he got up and sat down beside of her. “I don’t have any sibling, so I don’t know what you are going through but I know what you are doing now isn’t right. You can’t let the moon stay up in the sky forever, that will eventually kill everyone. I still have trouble believing that you and your sister can move the sun and moon.” He took another sip from bottle.
“Is there someone who moves them where you are from?” She asked him.
Sebastian shook his head. “Nope, where I am from my planet moves around the sun and the moon moves around the planet, there aren’t any magic involved there.”
Nightmare nodded. “Sounds a little weird to me.”
Sebastian couldn’t help but chuckle a little. “I guess it’s does, but how do you think I felt when I ended up here? I’m from a world that has no magic and now I’m living in a world where there’s magic all around us.” He took a sip from his bottle. “It drove me crazy and so did that pink pony named Pinkie Pie, god I hate her.” He drank the rest of the bottle. He placed the empty bottle behind him and took two more, he handed one of them to Nightmare. “Here, I think you need one.”
Nightmare took the bottle and read the lapel. “Griffon beer? What’s beer?” She asked the human.
Sebastian pop the cork on his bottle. “You never had a beer before?” Nightmare shook her head. “It’s alcohol, it’s way better than that crap they have in this town.” He took a sip from it and look over the horizon. “So, what are you going to do now? Are you going to let moon stay up there forever?”
Nightmare let out a heavy sighed and then her horn glowed then moon disappeared, and the sun appeared. “No, you’re right. If I let it stay out then ponies will died, and I don’t want that to happened.” She pop the cork on her own beer and took a sip from it, she couldn’t help but gag of the taste. “It taste like vomit.”
Sebastian just smirk. “Yeah, it did the first time I tasted it, but the taste will get better, it did for me.” He took another sip form the bottle.
Nightmare look at the bottle before she took another taste, this time it didn’t taste that bad. “Say, I never got you name.”
“No, you didn’t, my name is Sebastian Johnston, nice to meet you Nightmare Moon.”
The princess couldn’t help but giggle. “Nice to meet you Sebastian.”
And with that they sat in silence watching the sunrise.
