Chapter 1

“Ughhh,” Elijah groaned as he got out of the car, “We were so close to winning that game.”

“Well, you got next week,” responded Elijah’s mom, Mia.

“Yeah… I guess you're right,” Elijah sighed as he winced when he moved to the trunk of the car. He just got back home from his highschool football game. He’s the backup Quarterback, but the starter got injured during a game two weeks prior. He’s still not used to this kind action. Despite playing football his entire life, he’s only played varsity a few times.

Elijah is a scrawny, fifteen year old African-American boy who’s in his sophomore year of highschool. Limping through the open garage door, Elijah drops off the shoulder pads and helmet he grabbed from the trunk before making his way to his bedroom.

One thing Elijah noticed is that his back, right in between his shoulder blades were sore even though he never got hit there. Elijah’s legs were in pain and he had a mild headache. All of those pains seemed out of place, even after a football game. Although the legs were pretty reasonable, but he never ran the ball. The only times he got tackled was when he got sacked, and the big guys always tackle high when they sack a quarterback.

Still Elijah has many other aches and bruises around his body, so he just ignored it. While walking through the hallways of his house Elijah could hear the sound of nails scratching the hardwood floor getting closer. It’s the sound of his best friend approaching, but there was another. The sounds of feet slapping the cold hard ground was right next to the scratching.

Finally, the two sounds come out from around the corner revealing Elijah’s youngest sibling and his dog. His youngest sister’s name is Charlotte, and his dog’s name is Noah. Noah was an Australian Shepherd, he had gray, black, white and tan fur. The colors were splashed all around his body with no particular pattern. Staring back at Elijah were two brilliant blue eyes. Typical for an Australian Shepherd.

His little sister, Charlotte, was only five years old, with shoulder length curly hair. Charlotte’s hair and eye color were the same as Elijah’s, black hair and brown eyes. She had on pink pajamas with a flower pattern. She probably only had half an hour before she went to bed, even though it was a weekend.

“Hi Eli!” Charlotte enthusiastically exclaimed. Noah barked as he started jumping up to his hind legs and putting his paws onto Elijah’s knee pads. Ignoring the pain that comes with every movement Elijah began to vigorously pet Noah’s head. Elijah replied, “Hey lil’ sis. You’ve got way too much energy this late into the night.”

“Well I was waiting for you to come home,” She laughed as she walked up next to him. She got a whiff of all the sweat and dirt coming off of him before taking a few steps back pinching her nose before pointing it out, “Eww you smell Eli!”

Right after saying that Charlotte took off back to where she came from; giggling the whole way. Noah took notice of her running and quickly began to chase Charlotte down. They left just as quickly as they came. Right before he took his hurting body up the stairs Elijah looked to his left, looking out into the living room.

On the TV was My Little Pony, the show that his little sister loved so much. On the screen was a weird looking pony, one the likes of which he had never seen before. It looked like a baby, yet it had wings and a horn on its body. She was pink but it was very light, as if there was more white than red in the mix of colors. Her hair, or mane, was a brilliant purple with stripes of an icing like blue on her curling mane.

The filly’s wings were the same pink as her coat, but darkened into a more normal pinkish tint at the tips of her feathers. She also had on diapers which Elijah found pretty funny. In the show the grown up ponies around her seemed to be having a conversation while she was just looking around aimlessly. Her eyes turned to the camera. It looked like she was looking into Elijah’s living room.

The little filly’s sky blue eyes shifted slightly and locked eyes with Elijah for a good second. During that time Elijah got a very awkward feeling, like she was actually looking at him. Right before she looked away Elijah felt a pain in his head. Once the baby looked away Elijah started to rub his head. The pain would gradually increase as the minutes go by but nothing too bad.

Elijah trudged up the stairs and into his room. He tossed his dirty football clothes, which were the pants and the jersey, into his hamper. Grabbing his towel off the back of the door, Elijah walks to his bathroom to take a nice long shower.

Thirty minutes later Elijah’s walking down the stairs in his loose pajama clothes. Making his way down the stairs he saw Charlotte sleeping in the living room with the TV still on. She must’ve fallen asleep with it still on… I’ll leave it to someone else to pick her up, Elijah lethargically thought to himself. Elijah, who was now in the kitchen, started rummaging through the cabinets looking for something.

Elijah was so engrossed with finding the object he was looking for that he didn’t hear someone enter the kitchen. That is, until a voice rang out, “Did you win?”

“...I don’t wanna talk about it,” Elijah sighed before taking down a small box with medicine in it.

“So I take it you lost the game?” Elijah stayed silent, “So you did lose… I’m not really surprised.”

“Oh,” hummed Elijah before taking some Advil, “Olivia, why do you think we lost? Hm?”

“Because it’s Redwood highschool, you guys usually suck,” Olivia deadpanned. Elijah had no retort to the insult because it was actually true. The Redwood Lumberjacks usually did suck. For most sports anyways.

Olivia was his older sister, the eldest out of his siblings. She was currently in her junior year of college. This weekend she was staying home and would head back on monday. This really meant nothing to Elijah since he knew she was probably back to hang out with her friends. She had wavy black hair and black eyes with a little splash of freckles on her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. That coupled with her glasses gives her a cute aesthetic. Or so they say.

“Where’s Ava?” Elijah continued, trying to change the subject while he put the box back where he found it.

“Dad took her to her friend’s house right after he dropped me off. Apparently they decided they want Ava to sleep over there now so he’s bringing her clothes and whatnot,” Olivia explained. That was typical of Ava, another one of his sisters. He’s in a house full of women. The only other male being Elijah’s dad, Benjamin.

Olivia was the oldest sibling at age twenty, Elijah was the second at age sixteen, Ava was twelve, and Charlotte was the youngest at age five. Eli asked, “Can you bring Charlotte to her room?”

Olivia nodded her head before turning around to retrieve Charlotte. With that out of the way, Elijah could finally go to bed. So without further adieu, Elijah climbed back up the stairs and into his bed.

The little while he had before he drifted into the realm of dreams was spent thinking about football. He knew that he was a liability on the field even if no one said it. The former starting QB was a senior so he would be leaving in june. He needed to improve his skills in order to be the QB that his team needs.

With that, he resolved he would get better. Put in all the extra work to be where he needed to be. And hey, he might even get a scholarship for football in the process. It was then, that the pain in his head increased tenfold. He barely suppressed a scream as the pain was making his vision swim, at least the little that he could see in the dark room, and his ears ring. He started to hyperventilate from the panic of this sudden pain. But no matter what he couldn’t muster his voice.

This continued to get worse and worse. He couldn’t even think at this point. He was letting out breaths as if he were screaming, but couldn’t hear a voice. Eventually, everything faded to an abyssal black.

Ugh… where am I, Elijah thought to himself. Elijah rolled onto his belly and stretched out his limbs with a yawn. He ended the stretch by letting his limbs fall limp, all of them. Two really soft appendages fell to either side of Elijah. He let out a moan of satisfaction and it came out in a much more feminine touch. It felt out of place, but also natural at the same time. The feeling was indescribable.

Finally, Elijah opened his eyes, revealing the world he’s in. He was in a room painted a navy blue color. At the current moment, Elijah was facing the headrest of a queen size bed. While looking at the headrest Elijah picked several things up in his peripheral vision. First was two light pink, almost white, furred appendages that came to a flat end. They were his forelegs and hooves. It was one of the few things he did know at the moment.

At the bottom of Elijah’s vision was a rounded muzzle that was the same color as his forelegs. At the top Elijah’s vision was a bony protrusion. He knew that it was his horn; although he didn’t really know what it did at the moment. And coming down into his vision was his mane that he couldn’t really discern the color of at this moment. The realization came to him that he didn’t know his environment but he knew his own body. Which was comforting to know.

Elijah pushed himself up using his forelegs and sat on his rump. He had to make sure he knew every part of his body, it was the only thing that comforted Elijah in this situation. Elijah elected to look down his body, taking note of his hindlegs and tail. The tail extended long, with one big curl. It was a vibrant purple with a streak of icing blue going through it. Elijah assumed that his mane was pretty much the same color.

Elijah took notice of that feeling of another appendage that he couldn’t see. Elijah had moved them earlier. Without further adieu, Elijah extended the back appendages and moved them into view, showing off his instinctual dexterity to no one else but himself. They were majestic wings that were the same light pink as the rest of his body. Except for the tips; they were tinted a darker shade of pink.

Moving his wings back to their resting place, Elijah had to examine the last thing that had not touched upon yet. His genitals. Spreading his legs a little wider, Elijah saw the hints of his outer labia. Elijah couldn’t help the feeling that there should have been something else there. Yet, it still felt like it was supposed to be there. All of his body parts had given him a feeling that it was supposed to be there, nothing was out of place, but also a feeling that it was also something alien.

Turning his head, Elijah saw two posters of someone in some kind of sports equipment, and another poster of a bunch of comic book characters. Elijah had no idea who any of the people in this room were. To the right of his bed was a dresser that had lots of stuff on top of it. Trophies from what looked like sporting events, some old toys, and other useless junk was on there, but it also gave the room some personality.

This room, despite it all being unfamiliar, the room gave an unalienable comforting feeling. As if Elijah was forever safe. Still, Elijah’s ‘proper’ yet slightly unfamiliar body was a topic of concern. Especially his wings and horn. The horn was the biggest concern though. Elijah didn’t really know what it did, and it bothered him.

The feeling Elijah got from the horn was that it was a doorway to a vast, untapped force. There was a sensation connected to the horn that ran throughout his body. It was a warm and fuzzy sensation that he still wasn’t entirely used to, but once he was, he knew this feeling would easily fall into his subconscious. Then there was his wings. They were more genuinely confusing than the horn’s aggravating confusion.

Elijah was no rocket scientist, but he knew that the wings shouldn’t be able to make him fly. Yet, Elijah could just feel that these wings would be able to carry him to his destination. He didn’t get the same feeling as the horn, but it still gave off a distinct feeling. In fact, his whole body gave off subtle fuzzy feelings. From what he could tell, there were three main distinct feelings, each different from one another. Elijah knew that these feelings aren’t from before, they were new.

But that was the thing. Elijah didn’t know what he was comparing it to!

Elijah was so self absorbed in his thinking that he hadn’t noticed the footsteps coming up to his door. Elijah was knocked off his train of thought by the sound of his door swinging open and someone speaking immediately afterwards.

“Hey Elijah, it’s time to wake up! I know you had a game but… it’s… ten in the morning…” Olivia began but soon her words began to slow down until she drawed out the last few words of her sentence. Elijah turned his head around in slight panic as he looked at the dark skinned girl. Elijah had never seen this woman in his life! So he asked the first question that entered his head.

“Umm… who’s Elijah?” the alicorn said in a voice that’s usually bubbly, cheery, and young (as in young adult), but at this very moment, it was wrecked with nervousness. Instead of answering the question, Olivia played devil's advocate.

“Who are you?!” Olivia rebutted. She would have asked what she was, but she knew what pony from a My Little Pony looked like. She was just confused as to why it was here, in real life, and on Elijah’s bed. What, did it eat him or something?

“I’m, uh… I… I-I…” Elijah stammered as the realization hit him in the face, “I don’t know…”

The last part came out almost as a whisper. Olivia still heard it because it was a small room. Still, the point is, Elijah didn’t know who he was? Who was he? Where was he? Who is this young woman? All these questions had no answers to them. When Elijah thought of his own name, he came up almost completely blank. The only thing that came to his mind were the words Flurry Heart. Who was that? What does that even mean?

Olivia egged Elijah, “What do you mean you don’t know?”

“I-I’m telling the truth,” stuttered Elijah. Elijah moved her body so now she was sitting while facing the door.

“More importantly,” Olivia started before her face warped with anger and she bellowed, “WHAT DID YOU DO WITH ELIJAH!!!”

Olivia stepped up to the corner of the bed closest to her. Elijah started to push himself back in a panic to gain as much distance as possible. He kept going back until he reached the headrest of the bed. His back was pushed up against it with his wings also splayed out on it. Elijah quavered, “I-I-I don’t know! Who are you even talking about?!”

Elijah could hear someone springing up the steps as fast as they could; even though it wasn’t that fast. The source of footsteps made it to the doorway of the room. It was a little girl who was the same skin tone as the young women. When her eyes landed on Elijah, they did not become incredulous. No, they became awestruck with wonder and fascinations. Still, even at such a young age, she understood the situation.

The little girl’s eyes turned to the older person and said, “Olivia.”

She was completely ignored as ‘Olivia’ pressed Elijah with more of her own questions, “Elijah’s the person who lives in this room. Now how did you get in here?!”

“I don’t know! I woke up here!” Elijah squeaked.

“You keep answering with I don’t know damn it! Stop that!!!” Olivia ordered.

Elijah whimpered, “I don’t know is the only answer I have.”

Olivia growled, “Bullshit. Confess now or I’m going to kick the shit out of you!”

Olivia began to storm towards Elijah. As soon as Olivia took a step, Elijah began to hastily move to the side of the bed opposite of Olivia, and the little girl latched on to the front of Olivia’s name crying her name. Olivia looked down and shouted, “Charlotte what are you doing! I’m in the middle of doing something here!”

The girl named Charlotte looked up to Olivia with tears in her eyes, and pointed at the unnatural being before whining, “Flurry Heart…. That’s Flurry Heart...”

There’s that name again, Elijah thought to himself. Olivia stopped for a moment before looking up at the trembling pony before her.

“Is this true? Is that who you are?” Olivia asked.

“Um, yes….. I guess it is now,” Elijah, now dubbed ‘Flurry Heart’ (which also comes in with the switch of gender pronouns) admitted.

“As in the same one from that little kids show?” Olivia offered, Charlotte was now trying to climb the bed to get to Flurry Heart.

Flurry tilted her head and answered with an incredulous, “Yes~?”

It was obvious that Flurry had no clue what Olivia was talking about, so she discredited the answer. Charlotte crawled up to Flurry Heart and gave her neck a nice big hug. Burying her face in Flurry’s light pink fur. Charlotte’s tears began to soak into Flurry’s fur. Flurry put on a somewhat strained smile. Flurry did not know who this little girl was, but she also saved her from Olivia’s wrath, so she was grateful for that.

To show her gratefulness, Flurry put a tentative wing around Charlotte. Her crying turned into fits of childish laughter as she cozied up with the huggable ponies. Still, there was business to attend to. Olivia would make sure of that.

“You still haven’t answered any of my questions. Well, you have answered one, but you still haven’t how you got here and where my brother is,” Olivia glared. Flurry tensed up and Charlotte could feel it too. Sensing she was uncomfortable, Charlotte backed away from the Flurry and returned to Olivia's side.

“Yeah about that…” Flurry rubbed the back of her head, “I um… I think I am Elijah…”

Everyone in the room stood still for a moment. Letting the information soak in. Then Olivia tersely retorted, “What are you, retarded? Elijah’s a human male, not a female whatever you are.”

“I know it sounds crazy, but can you please hear me out?” Flurry beseeched. Olivia nodded for her to continue, “I... when I’m in this room. I feel at home, like I belong here. I still have no clue where I am, but I feel instinctually comfortable here. Also, I have no memories from before I woke up today. Yet, I can’t shake this feeling that there was a ‘before’. That I didn’t just pop into existence this morning.”

Olivia pondered this possibility. Everything on planet earth is pointing to this being false, but it’s also looking like it could be true. After all, there is a live, breathing pony from the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, right in front of her. And Elijah is nowhere to be seen. Disappeared without a trace. She knew this was most likely the most plausible answer.

Olivia gave a sigh of resignation. She couldn’t figure this out, and she never will be able to figure this out. If she accepts Flurry’s theory, then it also means Elijah isn’t dead or anything, he’s just been transformed. As to what exactly transformed him is still a mystery. It was highly improbable that they could reverse the effects if they don’t know what caused it.

“Alright I’ll believe you,” Olivia conceded, “Just… I don’t know. I have no clue as to what we should do.”

It was unlike Olivia to just give up the way she did, but when all the odds are stacked against her like this she didn’t want to stress herself out trying to solve this mystery. She was just going to have to live with this pony. One could think that she’s accepting this way too quickly, and they might be right.

There were many things to consider though. Whatever changed Elijah into this pony was obviously from some kind other worldly being, this would be impossible otherwise. From watching MLP with Charlotte from time to time, she knew that unicorns could use magic. Knowing that Olivia deduced that what changed Elijah has to do with magic. With him seemingly being quite more than a unicorn, it was obvious that he (or she, as the case may be) has magic.

Letting Flurry discover the full extent of her magic is the only way for her to learn how magic works, and in turn, how to get back to her old body. Trying to figure something out with zero knowledge of how it actually works is something that will not go well. So, there was no other choice other than to accept the mare as she is the only way she can possibly get Elijah back. It was at that moment that Olivia had a brilliant idea.

“Hey Flurry, do you know what you are?” Olivia inquired with more enthusiasm than she would like to admit.

“I don’t know what my species is, but I can name all my boy parts,” Flurry stated before pointing to her horn, “I know this is my horn, but I don’t know what it does. And for my wings, well, they’re self explanatory as to what their purpose is. I still don’t know how to fly though.”

Olivia started, “There’s a show called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The ponies in that show, look exactly as you do. That’s how Charlotte knew who you were. My mission for you, is to watch the show and read the wiki to learn what your body can do.”

“I don’t know if that’s a good idea or not since I still have no clue what you’re talking about, but I’ll give it a try,” Flurry gave a look of determination before continuing with a sheepish grin, “But, can you show me where to look.”

“Sure no problem,” Olivia sighed. What's going on right now. Seriously, I know I got next to no actual sleep last night despite being tired, but I couldn’t possibly be hallucinating right? Am I hallucinating? No, I’m not that sleep deprived. Could this possibly be a dream? Olivia pinched herself. Nope, this is 100% real. Life is going to be shit show from now on. I already know it.

Olivia led Flurry out the room and down the stairs. Flurry Heart actually managed to make it down the stairs with little trouble. Olivia thought that would be a problem with hooves, but they didn’t make the same distinct clop sound that a regular horse’s hooves might make. So they were probably different. Maybe they were softer? Still, it was pretty cool that she could get down stairs fine. Made things easier.

They finally made it to the living room, where Olivia gestured to Flurry to take a seat on the couch. Flurry happily obliged. Olivia started to search the blue ray cases that they had until she found the one she wanted. It was the disk for season six. She remembered Flurry was in this one especially because Charlotte was super excited about it even before it aired, and forced her to watch it with her. She never forgot it because she thought the baby was crazy.

After slipping it in, Olivia called Charlotte downstairs from Elijah’s room. She came in a jiffy, especially after hearing the main theme play. Flurry looked like she liked Charlotte to some extent, so Olivia didn’t think Flurry was going to try anything with Charlotte. This gave her time to finish some of her college assignments in peace.

Waltzing upstairs Olivia, found herself in her room, in front of her room, to spend hours on these stupid college assignments. Sometimes she actually wishes she never went to college. There was much work to do, so Olivia ended her complaining and got to work. She elected to check up on the two girls downstairs in a few hours.
