Pentagon smiled as Oculus walked him home. The two attended some kind of local party somewhere in the hive, where some of the younger changelings were even allowed to drink. It was more of a party directed solely at teens, where their friends invited them.
“Did’ja have fun?” Pentagon asked, a humored giggle echoing in his voice. Oculus nodded in a drunken trance, leaning lower onto his friend’s back to try and gain some kind of balance.
“I looooove my friends,” he cooed, slowly closing his eyes as his walking became more robotic and idle-minded. Pentagon didn’t pay too much attention as he slightly bumped flanks with his close friend.
“Hehe. I can tell.”
Fixing his cropped leather jacket, Pentagon reluctantly leaned into Oculus and pecked him on the cheek. Contrary to the expected response, Oculus giggled in a bubbly manner.
“Mmm... I’m sleepy...” he groaned. Wrapping his hooves around his cherry-colored friend, he erratically tugged at his neck. Pentagon barely even batted an eye as they finally neared his neighborhood.
“You certainly sound like it,” he purred. Pressing his flank up against the taller nymph’s once again, he smiled. “You wanna stay at my place?”
Oculus could only slur some small, unintelligible thing. Pentagon didn’t exactly understand at all, hence his canted brow in quick response.
As he and his friend began treading on Pentagon’s own property, the red chitined changeling smirked even wider as they entered his lair.
Oculus felt like he could barely even see. His vision was hazy, and the world was spinning, and suddenly he found himself sprawled across the stone cold floor.
Pentagon giggled lightheartedly despite his own intentions. Offering a hoof to lift Oculus up, his eyes grew half lidded. “Has anyone ever told you how much of an adorable drunk you are?”
“Mmmm...” He groaned again as his close friend pulled him into a rough embrace. “What game’re we playin’...?” He gruffed, grunting gruffly as Pentagon forcefully threw him into his surprisingly soft burrow.
Pentagon giggled, slipping off Oculus’ own black hoodie. “A fun one...”

Oculus lay sprawled across the ground, lain in front of his own place asleep in the moss. Rolling over to get into a more comfortable position, he grunted and groaned in excruciating pain.
His pelvis felt like it was completely destroyed. Like someone had taken a sledgehammer and slammed it against his bughood.
And when he shut his eyes again, his head hurt. His left hind leg twitched along with his right ear. Not only could he barely even remember anything from the other night, he had a pounding headache. Like a reoccurring scream just echoing in his brain.
Then, he jolted upright.
“Wha... Huh...?”
His heart was racing intensely as he looked around, sweating with hardcore paranoia. Just what was he doing outside? He could’ve sworn he fell asleep in his own house last night.
It was just about sunrise - the perfect time for Celestia’s star to rise over the horizon and paint the skies a lighter color. At the moment, however, Oculus didn’t have the time to admire the sunrise.
And the worst part was that he could barely even stand on his own four hooves. The moment he rolled over and attempted even the slightest bit of movement, pain would shoot entirely through his pelvis and stab at his groin.
“Ugh!” he exclaimed, making impact with the ground. He cried out in frustration as he was met with a a face full of moss. Another scream of anger and humiliation and he hugged his hindlegs to his stomach, rocking himself back and forth on the ground.
What happened? Why was he in front of his house instead of somewhere inside, sleeping peacefully?
Now that he thought about it even more, he felt like ripping his own skin off. Not one second did he feel comfortable in his own skin, or did he feel comfortable just laying there on the ground like that.
As welled up within his ducts, he let out another sorrowful cry. Curling up and gripping his legs tighter to his abdomen he pressed his cheek up against the soft moss, reveling in the smallest little amount of comfort he was going to get.
Someone tore him off the ground and jerked him into a tight hold. Oculus sobbed even louder, like just the thought of some stranger touching him sliced tightly through him like melted butter.
“Don’t touch me! S-Stay away from me, you— y-you—“
Axilla only wrapped her hooves around her son even tighter, cradling him as he cried softly into the crook of her neck. “Oculus, baby... it’s okay... you’re okay...”
Oculus lamented with a great passion, his sorrowful scream escaping and entering the atmosphere. He bit his forked tongue in a harsh fit of bitterness and anger. He wanted to make himself bleed - he wanted to hurt right now.
“Calm down... calm down, okay?”
“No!” Oculus tore away from his mother’s touch. Axilla reached out to forcefully pull him back, but Oculus seemed to remember his legs. They collapsed from under him, and he fell back to the ground, rendering Axilla’s attempt to pull him back into her arms a hard miss.
The nymph steadied himself once again and galloped off. All his mother could do was sit and stare at him, moisture in her compound eyes trickling down her face.
“Oculus, come back!“
Is all the bug could hear, echoing throughout the blue-tainted skies and ringing in his ears. But he didn’t care. Extending his great, black and blue butterfly wings and taking off, he flapped them with a great pressure until they started to ache. Like the fuzzy membrane on them was about to shrivel up and flake away. And dissolve and fleck all through the air.
But he didn’t care.
Plopping himself upon an old tree branch, he clung to the bark. Relatively high in the air he could stare down at the ground and almost feel fear building up within him.
That would’ve been if he didn’t want to jump.
