It all started when I went to a yard sale, it was just like any other yard sale really. Just boxes and boxes of stuff. Old toys, ancient magazines, DVDs that probably didn't work and tons of plates and cups. The owner of the house was moving in with her boyfriend and was selling all the old stuff that either she didn't want or had been left there by the previous owners. I went over mainly to see what the DVDs were and if any of magazines were any good but the magazines were coffee stained and the DVDs mostly crime dramas and those drama shows set in the 1900's nothing that interested me. However one box caught my attention, being a brony I noticed it pretty quickly.
It was a plain old cardboard box labelled 'My little pony' I didn't no what to expect possibly G3 or earlier stuff or even some rip offs like 'my lovely horse' or whatever. Anyway I bought the box (claimed it was for one of my cousins) and took it home to see what was in it. I took the box up to my room, it was heavier than I expected but I shrugged it off. I opened the box up as soon as I placed it on the floor. Inside the box was exactly as it said on the side, my little pony stuff, figures of Twilight Sparkle and the mane 6 excluding Pinkie Pie from Friendship is Magic and some toys from the older generations surrounding a white towel covering a mound of what I guessed to be more older generation toys. I was disappointed that there was no Pinkie in the FiM figures as she is my favourite pony but I kept my hopes up for a Pinkie Pie figure under the towel even if it was G3 or older. I took out the figures on top and placed them randomly on the floor and slowly lifted up the towel. What I found was.....absolutely unbelievable. I mean...so unbelievable to the point I had to pinch my self three times to check if I was dreaming or not. Inside the box was...…Pinkie Pie! A real life Pinkie Pie, asleep, in a box, in my room, in my house! I had to pinch myself twice more because I thought I was having a 'My Little Dashie' style dream only with Pinkie. The pinches hurt and I'd started to make a red mark on my arm. All I could do was stare, just stare into the box at the bright pink pony sleeping there. Right in front of me. I had a thousand thoughts rushing through my head. How did she get here? Who put her in the box? How long has she been in the human world? I was the only one in the house as my parents were on a weekend away together so I couldn't tell anyone in the house plus I couldn't exactly go online because no one would believe I actually had Pinkie Pie in my house. I had to get a drink and gather my thoughts, this was too crazy for words plus my mouth was dry and my palms were sweaty from a combination of the warm July weather and the pure shock of what had just transpired. As I stood up I accidentally knocked the box with my knees and pinkie started to stir awake, I thought back to how dashie reacted to the show in 'My Little Dashie' as I saw all the toys scattered around my room and had a scared thought that pinkie would react in the same way despite not knowing me or to most likely, not knowing anything about bronies or the human world in general. I hid all the my little pony toys in a draw as fast as I could. I was used to hiding my pony stuff quickly as even though my friends know I'm a brony they don't know that I got some merchandise so I always stuff it into a draw whenever they come over. I didn't have much merchandise anyway, just an applejack and Rainbow Dash figure and some blind bag figures I got from amazon.
Anyway Pinkie started to look around with a tired look on her face. The shock and brony excitement got the better of me and I let out a noise, I'm not quite sure what the noise was or how loud it was but I think it was some kind of squeal of happiness that was loud enough to get Pinkie's attention. Her ears perked and she looked surprised as she turned her head to face me. I didn't know what to do so I just smiled and raised my hand to say hi. Pinkie smiled too. A small smile at first but soon enough it was a big smile that only a cartoon could make, accompanied by the 'squee' sound effect from the show itself. I was so happy, so overjoyed by this that I started crying tears of happiness and started laughing at what I just saw feeling like I was watching a new episode of Friendship is Magic or seeing the smile song for the first time. Pinkie started laughing as well and then jumped out of the box, put her front hooves around my shoulders and gave me a big hug. All I could do is continue to cry from happiness and hug her back. I had a huge smile on my face and if this was a dream then I didn't want it to ever end. Pinkie eventually wriggled out of the hug and said 'Hi I'm Pinkie Pie, what's your name?' Still slightly shocked it took me a while to speak,
'I...I'm Rob' I felt a little like Fluttershy in episode 1 when she first meets Twilight Sparkle. Pinkie looked at me and blinked twice,
'Rob?... That's a fantastic name, it's veeerrry nice to meet you Rob' I was totally ecstatic at this point and said back to her
'and it's very nice to meet you too Pinkie Pie' she laughed and gave me another big hug and then started jumping around my room
For about the next half an hour she just bounced around my room asking what everything was so I just happily told her what everything was and what it used for. I noticed the time on my watch and softly said
'errm..Pinkie. It's getting late and I'm pretty tired so I was err wandering if I..well we could try and get some sleep now?' I honestly had no idea what to do for sleeping arrangements but all the shock and excitement had made me very very tired. Pinkie immediately stopped bouncing around and happily said 'okie dokie lokie' and sat down in the corner. I had no idea where pinkie could sleep and so I just placed some cushions in the corner of the room. I asked Pinkie about it and she said it was fine but she 'wasn't tired and could stay up aaaalll night long' Pinkie lay down on the cushions and grabbed the towel from the box to use as a cover. Despite saying she wasn't tired she fell asleep almost straight away. Once again I was stood in my room looking a sleeping Pinkie Pie and all I do was just smile and laugh as I got ready ready for bed myself. I switched the bedside light off, I looked across the room and said 'goodnight Pinkie'. As I was drifting off to sleep I heard a little voice say
'Goodnight Rob. My new friend' and that moment I think my heart melted.
My god, the next week just flew by. My parents phoned saying that they were gonna be gone for another week so me and pinkie just had fun all week. Despite only being with her for less than a day it was like she'd been here for months. It's crazy really but I guess because of the show I already know what she like and her personality, what she's good at and so on. Plus because she's pinkie she just became my friend right there and then no questions asked. It was, as Rainbow Dash says, so awesome. On Monday we made cupcakes and Pinkie's world famous Chimycherrychungas. I'm not the best at baking but Pinkie is a great help, which is kind of odd seeing as she has hooves rather than hands but I put that down to being Pinkie logic. I discovered that her recipe for cupcakes is exactly that of the song, and it really works. Those cupcakes were the best I've ever had and as for the Chimycherrychungas they were much nicer than I expected and has become a common food for me now, intact I'm eating one while writing this down. Tuesday was awesome too, more baking plus I found an old karaoke machine under the stairs so we sung cheesy pop songs for hours and hours till early in the morning. We slept through most of Wednesday and just spent the day lazing around. Watching TV, playing video games (which didn't go well as pinkie struggled with her hooves which surprised me after the whole baking thing). Luckily My Little pony doesn't air in the UK so I didn't have to worry about her seeing the show. She really liked Spongebob and Phineas & Ferb and learned all the words to Campfire song song the first time she heard it and was singing along to the theme tunes in practically no time. Thursday was pretty much the same as Wednesday except we didn't wake up as late. Friday was different though, in a good way but still different. The morning was as usual, watching cartoons, singing songs etc. Then in the afternoon the phone rang, nothing out of the ordinary because people were always phoning up from my parents workplace and Pinkie had got used to this, she'd just bounce next to me while I was on the phone and then ask a bunch of questions after the call had finished. The phone call I got was from my friend asking if I was ready to host tonight's party. I'd totally forgotten about the party and that I was supposed to host it. Pinkie started asking questions and I explained to her that every Friday me and my friends would have a party, no alcohol or anything just loud music and fizzy drinks and food. Pinkie was filled with excitement
'A party? that sounds fantastic. Can I come, can I, can I, can I'?
I told her that she couldn't join in because my friends would find it weird that there was a pink pony dancing and eating food with us. All she said was 'oh' and had a saddened look on her face, then she slowly walked upstairs with her head down. I felt terrible. I just couldn't let her be upset, I know she loves parties but what could I do? Then I had an idea, I called up my friend and said I couldn't host the party because of family issues. I then went upstairs and found Pinkie sat on the floor.
'Pinkie?' I asked quietly.
'Yes, what is it?' pinkie replied.
'I've cancelled the party and thought that we could have our own party, just us'
Pinkie's face immediately lit up and she jumped up with happiness 'woo, that's an absolutely positively ponytastic idea Rob'. She ran towards me and gave me a big hug. I felt so happy.
I set up all the party stuff the same as I did when my friends came over. Pinkie had baked some cupcakes for the party. It was so much fun, I knew Pinkie was great at throwing parties but I didn't realize how good of a party thrower she was until now. The music was different to the usual parties because we just played the cheesy pop tunes from the karaoke machine but later on I thought 'why not play some dubstep'? I wasn't really sure what Pinkie would think but she seemed to like it. When I asked about it she said
'yeah it's pretty cool, kinda like the music DJ-PON3 makes, she's Rainbow Dash's favorite DJ' When she said that I just stopped and stood still while Pinkie was still dancing to 'Bangarang'. I couldn't believe she mentioned Rainbow dash. All the thoughts about how she got to the human world had disappeared after the first day but now they'd all come flooding back. I couldn't sleep that night. I had to find out how she came to the human world and I'll start tommorow
Pinkie had no problem with answering the questions, she happily told me the story of how she came to the human world.
'Well it all started one morning in ponyville' Pinkie Began. 'We were all practicing things, I was practicing throwing a party, Twilight and Rarity were practicing magic, Rainbow and Fluttershy were flying about and Applejack was catching things with her rope.'
'So what happened then, Pinkie?' I asked
'It all happened so fast, Rainbow dash flew near near me and Twilight was trying an amazing trick and then BOOM. A sonic rainboom, a blast of magic and my party cannon all collided and we were blasted in all directions and before I knew it I was here in the human world outside that lady's house' It made me jump a bit when she said 'BOOM' and when she said 'lady' I'm guessing she meant the lady who was having the yard sale. i just sat there nodding for a good minute or so before Pinkie broke the silence.
'So, what are we gonna do now?' she asked
'well...how about me make some cupcakes?' Pinkie starting bouncing to the kitchen excitedly and I slowly followed. While we were making cupcakes all I could think about is how Pinkie's friends feel now that she's not around, if they're looking for her too. There might be a search all over Equestria for her. And then I had another thought. What if Twilight and Rainbow Dash were sent to the human world as well? and if they have, then how am I going to find them? My thoughts went back to baking when Pinkie pushed a baking tray into my hands. The cupcakes were really nice as always and afterwards I put the TV on to watch some cartoons. While pinkie was watching Spongebob and his undersea friends I got my laptop out and starting searching for any information I could about Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash being in our world. I wasn't expecting to find anything but I just needed to know if anyone had seen or even heard anything on the subject. The first 10 pages or so was exactly what I expected. Endless 'My little Dashie' readings and reactions and YouTube videos using those green screen ponies. I was sat there for hours! the cartoons had ended and Pinkie was watching game shows and she seemed to be really enjoying it. I was just about to give up all hope of finding anything then there it was. Page 63, the bottom result, 'A real Twilight Sparkle, no joke PICTURE PROOF' I'd come across a few results like these already and was expecting the same photoshopped pictures and edited videos except, it was different. After seeing so many edited pictures and going on the internet as much as I did before I met Pinkie you get a skill of knowing whether pictures are fake or not. These picture looked so real. they were of a woman, probably in her her early 20's and Twilight Sparkle. They were sat down pulling funny faces, it looked like the pictures were taken in a photo booth. How could she get Twilight into a photo booth without anyone noticing? The pictures had a date and a location at the bottom of the page. The location was Manchester, England. That was very lucky. Very lucky for the fact it was England but also for the fact that Manchester wasn't to far away from here. I showed Pinkie and she gasped and started jumping about. 'We should go and see her straight away Rob, she must be missing me, c'mon lets go, lets go, lets go!' before I could say anything or even put the laptop down, Pinkie had pushed me out of the front door. We kept unlocked because my parents had told me they'd accidentally lost there door key while away. Pinkie passed me my bag and I placed my laptop in and Pinkie climbed inside. We'd planned ahead on this in case we needed to go anywhere, I'd poked some holess in the front and back of the bag so that Pinkie could breathe and we'd agreed that she would hide inside the bag if anyone walked passed or drove past on the road which didn't happen very often because I only live in a small town and it was late evening by now anyway. The quickest way to get to Manchester was by train so Pinkie hid in the bag as we reached the station and I bought a ticket and waited for the train.
When we arrived in Manchester. I found the nearest hotel to the train station I could and booked a room for 3 nights, I didn't know how long to plan on staying even if we found Twilight. I set up some cushions in the corner of the room for Pinkie just like at home and I found that she'd brought the cover in the bag too. I got out my laptop and quickly found the website which the pictures were on. I'd took note of the web address from earlier on and quickly noted it down on my hand. It had worn a bit from having sweaty hands because of how nervous and excited I was. While looking at the website again I noticed that there was an e-mail address with the caption 'anyone else with a real life MLP pony, contact me here'. I thought about sending an email but also had a thought that she'd probably got a lot of fake e-mails of people claiming they've got a real pony in their house. I decided to sleep on it and have a further think in the morning. The next morning I woke up pretty early. Pinkie had already been up for hours though was bouncing around repeatedly saying 'W're gonna see Twilight Sparkle today'.
'Yes Pinkie we're gonna see Twilight and her friend today, but first I have to get ready and find out where they live first'. I thought this would stop her saying the same thing over and over again but it didn't. I just ignored it and got ready for the day. First things first, find out where they live, it took me a while but I to word the email in a way which, to me anyway, sounded truthful. Well, I was truthful anyway so hopefully that came across in the e-mail. This is what I wrote:
Hello, my name is Rob. I know it sounds crazy but I actually have Pinkie Pie with me, not a figure, not a plushie but the actual Pinkie Pie! If you don't believe me then that's OK but Pinkie told me the story of how she ended up in the human world and I feel that Twilight will be able to explain things further. We are staying in a hotel in Manchester and would like to meet with you, if that's fine with you.
I wasn't sure whether she'd believe me or not but she did! She sent email back telling us her name was Stacy. She'd also left her address which I'm not going to give away. I told Pinkie and she jumped straight in the bag and somehow managed to get the bag on my back. We set off down the road straight away, not even knowing where we were going, we walked for ages, just going down any random street and hoping to find the street we were looking for. I never thought to ask for directions, I just wanted to get there as quickly as possible. We walked down a ton of streets but never found the one we wanted but, just then, Pinkie jumped out of the bag pointed the the right and said 'look there it is' and, she was right. There it was. The street we'd been searching for, the street where Twilight Sparkle and Stacy lived. I walked straight towards it, normal pace at first but soon enough it was a fast walk and then a jog and then a run. The next task was locating the house. That was pretty easy as it was the second one along. I slowed back down to a walk and went up to the door. It was a small house with a small garden a the front, in fact all the houses on the street were like that. Anyway, I stood in front of the door, took a deep breath in and pressed the doorbell. I heard the doorbell echo inside the house and then heard a voice. 'coming' it said. The door unlocked and opened slowly, and there infront of it stood that famous purple pony. Twilight Sparkle! It was a big shock to me, I suppose not as shocking as finding Pinkie and because I knew she lived here. I just stood stare staring, as did Twilight. It took Pinkie to break the silence. 'Twilight!' she shouted and jumped out of the bag headed straight for Twilight.
'Pinkie Pie? What are you doing here?' Twilight exclaimed
'Well that's a funny story actually' Pinkie started 'you see after the whole thing with the sonic rainboom and party cannon and magic and the explosion things where got blasted into this world and I was with this woman and then I was in a box and then-'
'Pinkie you can explain later' Twilight said with a slightly annoyed look on her face. There was silence again. Then the noise of footsteps coming down the stairs. I looked towards the stairs, it was Stacy! the woman from the pictures. She was running down the stairs. 'Twilight what have I said about opening the door?' She looked down to Twilight, who was sat looking at her while Pinkie was still talking away next to her. Then Stacy looked to me and said 'oh it's you, I guess you weren't lying about Pinkie Pie then, they're just like in the show aren't they?' She whispered the part about the show. I'm guessing she hadn't told Twilight about it either.
'Come in to the front room and I'll tell you the whole story' Stacy said
'I'll tell the first part' Twilight Sparkle added. This was it, I was about to find out the whole story, not just how Pinkie got here but everything else as well. How Twilight got here, how exactly all those things happening in Ponyville warped the ponies to the human world and so many other questions.
