It did not make sense! Not one tiny bit! The cause to yank on pristine hair to the extent of near tearing. Those lovebirds should have hooked up not weeks but months ago. Little exchanges of the eyes and easy rises of a blush. Both so cute, so into each other, close and intimate—all within the realm of being friends.

Rarity stirred from her thoughts as the shade of the passing trees would be her disguise. Jogging slowed in hearing the crack of an adorable voice. She passed behind a tree, running in place, sports bra and track pants, both tight, that currently hugged her physique.

The crunching of gravel sounded from behind her as the figure of another ascended the roll of the hill. Tall and purple and slenderness dressed in a tank-top and shorts. Spike's eyes narrowed in looking up to the sun before flicking down to the obstruction in the road.
Fate! It's fate, I tell you! Even that which is beyond Celestia wants them together! To be provided with all the natural excuses for blossoming a romance—for it still to not come into being! I shall surely kill someone! The worst is I still don't know which one!
Spike caught sight of the wounded girl and beat toward her at double his speed. "Rainbow? Rainbow! Hey, hey! On your left—I-I mean behind you!" She turned at hearing his voice and, at once, the rose in her eyes brightened. She smiled despite the pain.
"O-Oh, hey!" Rainbow was smiling and swiping the tip of her sneaker into the ground as her head remained lowered. Her eyes flicked up to him at seconds at a time, a blush still strong across the lands of blue. Oh, how that girl can turn into such a sweetheart. "What's up—OW!"
"Hey, hey. Easy now. You can focus on impressing me later." He stopped to her side and wrapped an arm over her shoulder at once, causing the girl to fall into him, resting into his side, able to take some weight off. "What are you doing out here anyway? The doctor said you should only exercise at home."
"I've made it a profession of blowing docs off!"
Spike cocked his head. "Really? Pay better than the Wonderbolts!"
"Dah! W-Who taught you to b-be making those kinds of j-jokes!" Rainbow went from blue to red and hid as much underneath her mane as she could, eyes sent to scan around, hands coming to push on his chest. "Shove off—W-WOAH!"
Rainbow fell back onto her pained heel and, unable to lean, started to fall back. Her hand shot forward, and smooth digits tightened across it. She was guided back at once, back into him, coming to hug the idiot.
"Easy now! You're not looking for reasons to go back to that doctor now." His shoulders dropped, and he looked around. "Are you?"
"You are dead! You are so so dead! Y-You don't even know h-how dead you're about to be because you are so dead!" Rainbow rattled her head around with a growl born from frustration. In rubbing her cheek on his side, she attempted to weaponize her glare in looking at the ground. "Going to grind you up. Going to smack you down with a big hammer! Going to do—"
"Going to do a lot of horrible things that I'm all deserving of." When had he learned to talk in that way? So perverted and teasing without being the tiniest bit obnoxious about it? Rarity pondered the influences from afar. "But seriously. Did you listen to a word those doctors said?"
"Course I did! They don't let you leave the room unless you do."
"Because they care."
Rainbow rolled her eyes. "Because they care about a form being signed."
"Never said they cared about you."
Her mouth opened in exasperation in not knowing who she was dealing with. In all the stuttered and failed words to come out of her mouth—surrender came out clearly. "Fiiine. You win... whatever the heck this is."
She shook her head and came to lean back. Doing so enough to find his arm and wrap both of her own around it. Rainbow sunk back into him after that, not caring that his wrist had fallen between her breasts. Soft mounds supplement by the top that rubbed across him.

"Well." Rainbow's eyes danced to the sides as a breeze lifted her mane. “Doctor said supervised exercise was okay. Now you're here. So now that means... tch."
Spike blinked and exhaled, and his worried eyes scanned down on her. "What's wrong? Wings or the leg?"
"Leg." Rainbow rose her knees as her hands dropped to her ankle, massaging the heel, clenching an eye as she did so. "It's just burning from placing weight on it. Just need to walk through it. How about you offer me that shoulder—"
"How about I do this?"
Rainbow had no time to answer as two arms swiped her, the bulk of the dragon, dropping, in heaving her into the air. She rolled from his wrists into the crook of his elbows. Forced to see the underside of his face and the sky above.
Spike looked down at her from a world away. Smile and eyes that shone in emerald. An air of peace permeated from him. Rainbow could relax around him. Drop her shoulders and stop clenching her tummy. Feeling an arm cradling her neck and the other underneath the bend of her legs.
"Let's not take any risks on that heel of yours."
"Forget that!" Rainbow snickered. "You just wanted to carry me."
"And if I'm as guilty as I'm charged?"
"Maybe... this isn't such a crime after all."
Rarity watched from behind the tree as the dragon entered a jog, off the path and onto the grass, a route they would not be seen. She clenched her eyes and hummed an eruption with a closed mouth. Such romance! The perfect moment! None of them act normal around each other—that's the surest sign that they are to be!
No sense in setting the inside of her on fire. Maybe something would be different about this occurrence, unlike throughout the year. Some romances took longer to grow. For one side to take the plunge and risk it all. It was so obvious they both wanted the same thing.
It was just a matter of time.

"Me and Spike? What are you, lady—crazy?"
Rarity had the right mind to ruin that beautiful face with a precise throw of that teacup currently sipped on. Her teeth instead crunched on its glass to repress the break in her demeanour. It was close to nightfall in the boutique. Two friends, at a table, sipping tea.
"One would assume you two were getting closer, why, in all the time spent together?" There was a clink from the glass as it settled into its saucer. "Not to mention all the times you two have flirted, and he has carried you and—"
"Please! I flirt all the time—we flirt all the time! It's just a way of talking!" Rainbow went for a sip from her cup but, as it hovered before her lip, she lowered it, looking at a place down from Rarity's face. "Like your chest! Way better than mine.”
Rarity deadpanned and pushed her lips to the side.
Does she think lechery applies only to males?
"Nice touch in undoing the top buttons! Look at how much your bust, well, busts out from there! Like a snowy sea I wouldn't mind diving inside."
Rarity twitched at the recall of memory. "Literal or metaphorical darling?"
"T-The latter, of course! Everyone means meta-whatever-the-heck when they say stuff like that."
Rarity plopped an elbow on the table and waved. "Alright, alright! Nothing to fear! Just wasn't sure ever since that confession with the wine." Fluttering eyes looked up high. That earned a sigh. "And there it is."

Rarity loved romances. Every part of them. Good and bad and what lay between. However, She could deal with such fantasies, so long as the knowledge of the romance happening was guaranteed.
And this one, however, was not.
"So allow me to get this straight." Rarity swung one leg over another, which had caused her guest to peek underneath the table—seeing into a dense black skirt into a smooth and wonderful curve of white. "Rainbow! Attention, please?"
"Right! Right." Rainbow's head tittered in, rising into normalcy. "Sorry. Strong whine. White looks nice on you."
Rarity's eyes clenched in a way prohibiting sophistication. "I swear, somehow, you're worse than him."
"See! The dude's interested in you! Always has been!" Rainbow nodded and rested her chin on her hand and her elbow on the table. Her eyes fell to the chest viewable through the open collar. Fluffy marshmallow peeking out. Delicious slit, in-between, rubbing into itself. "Can't say that I blame him. Forget that metaphor stuff. I'd take literal diving into that right now, please."
Rarity sighed and covered a hand over her milky valley to the other, leaning in her chair, for the sight between the fingers. There'd be no winning against Rainbow in this kind of state. Rainbow then blinked with a tilt to her head. "What's suffering again? Or do you mean stuffing?"
Contemplation of death came at night when its prospect seemed most real, where its power was strongest over the mortal mind. Yet throughout the day, it was tame and, in moments such as this: even craved.

No use in fighting that. Rarity lifted her cup for a sip of tea. Using the moment to think.
Rainbow does have standards, then. Just bad ones. Adjustable ones.
"Mmm... but do you not find that strange?" Rarity set the cup back on the saucer and looked right, over the counter and to the window, the night sky populated with grey, darkened clouds. Moonlight washed across the land—doing the same with the kitchen. "How can you leech at me so easily, a lady you have no real interest in becoming one with, yet that boy, one that you could possibly fall in love with— that's the one you're most defensive about?"
"It's not like that!"
Rarity's smirk was that of got her.
“Then how is it like?”
"It's like... like... it's like how it's like!"
"That's a lot of likes in a subject about Spike."
"NOT THAT KIND OF LIKE!"
"Hush, now, or else I'll have to stuff your face in that place you like so much."
Rainbow's face imploded into itself as it was sucked into her open mouth. Redness flushed. Her eyes twitched at seeing absurdity intermixed with hypocrisy.
She jabbed a finger out. "But you... you..."
"But I what? Act so opposed to your advances as a lady should?" Rarity struck out a finger as well, tamely though, and lowered it to her cup. Swirling it on the rim as her cheek rested into her hand. She smiled at Rainbow from a tilt. "Do not forget that I'm the one who left those buttons undone."
She smirked. "And I can easily dish back, double, whatever you may throw."
Rainbow whimpered from the corner of her lips. She slumped back into her seat. Defeated. Forced to take verbal punches without a defence. Rarity was satisfied with this and returned to her drink.
"So the matter of the dragon then. You like him. Do not deny me that."
"Of... of course, I like him."
"We're doing good so far."
“But not enough to want to date him.”
"...we were just doing so well, darling."
"It's that... he's Spike! That little dragon we used to tug around like luggage."
Rarity closed an eye and supported her chin with dual fingers. She turned her head and thought aloud. "Wasn't he always carrying our luggage?" She looked back at Rainbow. "Both the literal and the metaphorical."
Rainbow's deflated into her seat and nearly slumped at its sides. The only thing pushed out was her chest. Fuzzy blues hugged in a tank top. Little buzzed furs rose across it. Nice C's but nowhere compared to Rarity's D's. But the latter wasn't looking out of interest for herself.
"Yeah, yeah." Rainbow rolled a hand in the air with the back of her head resting on the back piece of the chair. "Maybe... he kept me company for some bedside talks, helping me to finally get some shuteye. Always appeared at my shows like a usual fan. Lately, he's been..."
"Been?"
What killed the girl to be so wound up in talking about him? So much that her body would roll with painful aches that spread across her frame.
"...nice. Kind and all that." Rainbow's tired smile seemed happy and sad, and each was inspired by the other. "And he's the first guy to stand out to me in a while. Y'know. As a guy.” She jerked up and lightly struck the table. "And that's saying a lot! Considering all the numbskulls I've taken on as a temporary 'number one.'"
Rarity could breathe a genuine breath in breaking the block of the social facade. Her finger swung into the cup's handle, twisting it upward, keeping a thumb on the glass to keep it levelled. She pointed it at her girlfriend. "Now we're getting somewhere! What do you suppose makes him different from the rest of the unsuccessful?"
Rainbow turned her head away and rubbed her arm. Mane falling over an eye with a face fighting to turn back—but lacking the courage. Pure adorableness in sometimes seeing that rosy eye beneath the veneer of hair. Peeking out in a state of pure vulnerability.
"I-I dunno." She managed to look at Rarity with a lowered gaze. Her cheeks were pure red now. This was not to be teased, or else the girl would tuck and shut her feelings into herself once more. "Maybe because I-I haven't dated him yet? That he's my longest-running male friend? Y-You don't have to watch what you say around him, y'know, because you know it won't lead anywhere."
"The perks of having a drakefriend without actually having one?"
"Maybe. Sorta? Dunno."
Haven't dated him yet. Not 'because I haven't dated him'. Phenomenal. The interest is there as I suspected—but a matter holds her back. Much less him. She's been given cause to never worry about flirting with him.
Such a horrible signal that's gone both ways.
"A-And if you were to date him?"
"W-We're not like that! He's still a little dude to me! Up in the head, at least."
"Indeed! Dating Twilight Sparkle's little brother must be such an odd concept to hold up there—but a few kisses should remove that."
"Kiss him!? Yuck! That's Spike! He's a dragon!"
"You mean he's not a snail?"
"His lips would be scaly!"
"Mmmhm. Firm and flexing too. A little bit tough for us soft and fluffy girls. Would need to dig a bit more in."

Rainbow blinked from her explosion. Wiggling into herself on re-entry. She looked out to the smirking Rarity to the immediate fear of being behind in some attack. Eyes searching left and right, head tilting forward, hair covering the previous two. "I-I didn't say anything about that."
"Don't you worry, now." Rarity smiled and placed her cup on the table. It existed in her vision for a second longer. The image of little ones in that pool of black. Couple swimming in it, like a pool, as a long finger latched to the handle. "Why I would even make you a deal as well. One not exclusive to yourself if you wish. It would see you being tossed in all those not-so-little places that you seek."
Rainbow coughed and lurched in place, eyes blinking and breath hitching, fighting to compose herself. Alas, the poor girl was all bravado. Full in her words as everyone took them to be true. Yet the submissiveness came out at the first call at it.
"Wasn't expecting me to make good on your jests? Good thing I never joke around on an offer." Born from power was the smirk racing across her cheek. "Ladies should only be a tease in the promise of more to come. I would never sell you a false premise. So how about it?"
White fingers dropped on the table, two of them standing tall before the massive chest. It resided in the distance, blurs of white composing the shirt—even more so the tease of the divot at its center.
They started to walk toward it.
"Should there ever be a chance that I catch you small, I shall treat you like the naughty, naughty little girl that you are." The fingers pinched into each other as though catching one between, rising into the air; Rainbow watched, with held breath, from afar. "Strip you of all your little clothes and toss you in with mine."

Rarity rolled her eyes but did not cross her arms. Instead, she sunk into the seat, spreading her arms over the rest behind, putting out her chest, which, in no longer having to pretend, used the power she knew was behind it.
How easily she could command the room by merely existing as herself.
Perfection has its charms.
"You already know what I want."
Rainbow glared at her. Wounded kind of glare. Prey seconds before having to give up the fight.
"Spike is good and around and real!" Rainbow confessed to lowering her head and shutting her eyes. "Always know I have him! I don't want to lose that! Not because I lost him in the sea of all my other casual dates!"
Rarity blinked as the power play ceased. Fears laid bare, which the attack had been for. She leaned forward, face obscuring the view over her chest, attempting to look up at Rainbow. "Hey now. Easy. You're with a friend now."
Rainbow cracked open an eye, face still in a clenched state, worried for the drop of a bomb.
"But is that your fear then? Worried he won't be different from the rest?"
"I-It's not that." Rainbow shook her head, breathing heavier now, wiping a palm underneath her eyes. "I-It's me. In how I run through a guy in a week. I lose interest so easily in them. N-Never feared dating someone before in my life."
Rarity exhaled heavily, clasping a hand over another, pushing the pair forward. "But isn't that a sign that there could be something special here? You actually feel something for that scaly boy." She smiled with a positive tilt of the head. "Enough that you want to be with him and not be with him."
But Rainbow shook her head. "But I don't want to take that chance, Rares. That I would be shallow enough to burn right through him. I've never brought him into that world. Boys and friends should be separated."
"But Rainbow."
"But nothing! Toss me in your bra or underwear or whatever." Rainbow didn't stop shaking her head. Only that it slowed. Needing to deal out the currents within. "I'd rather keep Spike as a friend. Being close with him like that would be weird for so many reasons. Better just keep... what we got."
Rarity's eyes narrowed with a fire of blue burning a glow. Perfect romance to die before she could cheer at a kiss. Nothing would change the other girl. No words that could convince Rainbow to take the chance.
"Very well, darling." Rarity picked up her cup to notice it empty. She frowned. No tiny lovers in it either. She chuckled. "But about that previous offer. In some strange sense, you were to become little and before me."
Rainbow looked up from her chest like a scared child. Eye covered beneath prismatic hair as the other peeked out. Though apprehensive, she, at the very least, seemed to be glad at the change of subject. "Y-Yes?"
“Well.” Rarity smiled and rested her elbows on the table, leaning forward. "Would you oppose me doing all of those naughty deeds? Going through those scenarios was more than a little titillating."
Rainbow blinked.
Slow for an answer.
"I guess... I guess I would probably be okay with it?" She then shrugged. "Probably fight you a little bit on it. More fun that way."
"Little sub, aren't you."
"Hehe." Rainbow laughed. "Yeah! Quite literally, too."
"Hey! You're catching on better to literal and metaphorical now."
"Oh, shut up."
"Wouldn't you rather be shut into me?"
"W-What does that even mean?"
"Like to find out?"
"Have any poison joke?"
"That only makes Applejack tiny."
"Lucky girl."
"Oh, how did you hold yourself back around her then?"
"Helps that I wanted to be in her place instead."
"Don't you mean inside her place?"
"That too."
"Oh, you're so glad you found someone so on point and open-minded."
