Unexpected love, A VinylPie Story
It seemed like a quiet night in Ponyville, it was past midnight and all seemed still... except Sugarcube Corner. It was bouncing with lively music that could be heard from the streets. Pinkie Pie had thrown yet another party, and it seemed all of Ponyville was there. Including the greatest pony DJ of her generation, Vinyl Scratch, or her stage name DJ PON-3. Vinyl was always at Pinkie's parties, and always the DJ. She does step down a few times for Pinkie, being she's not half bad at it.
Not too much after the guests had left, Vinyl was heading out and said to Pinkie "Hey girl, thanks for givin' me this gig. It was so epic!"
Pinkie smiled. "Oh! Hehe! Thank me? No, thank you! You make my parties so much better!"
Vinyl blushed. "Hehe, pinkie! Thanks!" Vinyl said. "We'll I'm gonna go home, it's almost 3am" Vinyl said blushing and walking out the door.
"Bye-bye, Scratchy!" Pinkie yelled. Pinkie called Vinyl that a lot it seemed. It's just like her to come up with cute names like that.
Vinyl walking home in the dead of night. It was quiet and calm, except for sounds of laughter and shouting coming from the Ponyville bar. Then randomly, out of nowhere a pony collided with Vinyl, causing both of them to fall to the ground. "Gahh! Oh I'm so sorry I didn't- Vinyl?" the grey Pegasus mare said. Vinyl stood back up and saw Ditzy Doo standing there apologizing for her clumsiness
"Ditzy? No wonder they call you 'Derpy,' anyway what are you doing out here? It's 3 am." Vinyl said, using her magic to wipe the dirt off of her glasses.
"O-oh well dinky, my daughter, was awake at 2 am watching TV! So my husband, Doctor Whooves, came in and told her to go to bed that second, and she didn't! So after a few tries we grounded her from TV for a week, but then a little bit ago she ran off! Now me and the Doctor are looking for her!" Ditzy said.
"Hey, I'll help. Don't worry, we'll find her" Vinyl said, trying to calm the frantic mother down.
"Oh, thank you!!" Ditzy said with a huge smile. Vinyl looked behind buildings and alleyways, and this little filly was nowhere to be seen. Vinyl, standing back at the house after an hour of looking, stopped. As soon as she did she saw a little gray filly run behind a house, three down from Ditzy. "Ohh! We'll never find he-" Ditzy said but was interrupted by a shush from Vinyl. Vinyl slowly walked to the building that she saw the grayish purple filly hide behind and there laid Dinky Doo, crying and curled up in a ball on the ground. Vinyl slowly walked up to her and sat next to her, the filly was surprised and her head shot up.
"V-Vinyl S-Scratch?" Dinky stuttered.
"Shh. Yeah, it's me... Now what's going on here?" she said in a quiet calming tone.
"W-Well, my daddy grounded me 'cause I was up to late...” Dinky said, sniffling.
"Well now, that's no reason to try to run away now, is it sweetie?" Vinyl said using the same tone.
"... N-No I guess not... b-but I just wanted to watch the marathon, it was just about to end too..." the filly said sitting up and wiping tears from her eyes.
"Okay, look how about this. If you want to stay up later, try talking to your parents. I'm sure they will let you, and if not well, give me a call and I'll record everything and let you watch it at my house. Okay?" Vinyl said, looking lovingly at the filly. She seemed to have a way with fillies that no other pony had. She seemed to connect better with them.
After a long pause, Dinky said "Thanks Vinyl... You’re so nice to me..." Vinyl just smiled and picked her up with her magic and placed the filly on her back so she could carry her. They reached Ditzy, who ran and grabbed Dinky with joy. "Oh, I'm so glad you're safe! I thought you were lost! Thank you so much for finding her, Vinyl!" her mood quickly changed. "What were you thinking, leaving like that?! You could have gotten hurt or worse!" Vinyl stepped in and put her hoof between the filly and mother.
"Hey go easy on her, okay? We all do stupid crap. She just didn't want to be punished. We all know how that feels." Vinyl said, looking at Ditzy. Ditzy's facial expression changed quickly from anger, to forgiveness.
"Ha, yeah, you're right. Come on Dinky, let's get some sleep." Ditzy said walking away from Vinyl.
'I should do the same...' Vinyl thought, realizing that she had been up since 7am.
BEEP BEEP BEEP!
Vinyl's alarm blared out, awakening the sleeping mare. "Grruuuua," she groaned rolling out of bed and stumbling into her bathroom. "God damn it... I'm so tired I can barely stand... It was for the good of Dinky..." Vinyl said out loud to herself. Her mane was a mess; her light blue and dark blue mane colors were mixed together and frizzy as all Hell. She readied herself and trotted downstairs. "Ugh... What am I even doing today?" she muttered walking to a calendar placed on her fridge and seeing that she is doing nothing. "Damn it! Damn it! DAMN IT! I have no gig for the next 2 weeks?!" she said, angry and surprised. Angrily, she jumped on her couch and turned on the TV. "*sigh* I need some more friends... Yeah I'm friends with Ditzy, but I need someone that will stay up all night and sleep all day..." Vinyl thought and contemplated who could be her friend to party with and to just enjoy their company. "Well, there's always Pinkie... Maybe I can check if she is free tonight." Vinyl said, standing up from her couch and heading toward the door.
She arrived at Pinkie's a little later, as she approached the door it flew open, Pinkie standing there "Oh! Hey Scratchy! What's up?" Pinkie said.
"Oh, well, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out later, hit the pony rave club, I don't know, have a few drinks?" Vinyl said sheepishly.
"Ooh... Sorry, I can't. It's my friend Rainbow Dash's birthday and we'll be going all over the place! It's gonna be fun!" Pinkie said, jumping up and down and jittering.
"Oh... Well don't worry 'bout it then." Vinyl said, turning around and beginning to walk.
"WAIT!" Pinkie shouted, making Vinyl turn around. "I didn't say you can't come with though, Scratchy!" Pinkie said.
Vinyl perked up immediately. "Really? Kick-ass! Now I can make some new friends!" Vinyl said, cheering.
"Oh, don't worry, my friends are great!" Pinkie said. "We're meeting in a few minutes at the park in the center of Ponyville. Just chill here with me till I leave!" Pinkie added.
"Nice! Thanks Pinkie!" Vinyl said enthusiastic about getting to meet some new or relatively new ponies.
A few minutes later, Vinyl and Pinkie set off for the Ponyville Park. "So, what are we doin' tonight Pinkie?" Vinyl questioned.
"What AREN'T we doing is a better question!" Pinkie said, jumping up and down. "Hey! Pinkie, over here!" a voice called from the nearby park. The voice came from Rainbow Dash, signaling Pinkie over to them, Pinkie gleefully trotted over to her, Vinyl following. "Hey girls! What's up? We all here?" Pinkie asked.
Twilight, Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Vinyl were all there.
"Uhh, Pinkie? Is that DJ-PON3?" Twilight asked.
"Oh, yeah! Her names Vinyl Scratch. She was looking for some friends and I thought it would be good for her to come with us!" Pinkie said, not fazed by the questionable looks from the other ponies.
"W-Why? A-Am I intruding?" Vinyl nervously asked.
"Well, no, but it is a little unexpected. Next time try telling us?" Twilight concluded.
"Ahh, what the hell! The more the ponies the better! Stop being so crazy with rules and stuff, Twi!" Rainbow Dash said, defending Vinyl.
“Alright, now what are we doin'?" Applejack asked.
"Well since it's my birthday, I thi-" Rainbow Dash said, before being interrupted by Pinkie. “
Oh! Oh! Let's go to the Ponyville bar in about 2 hours and then hit the Ponyville nightclub!" The 6 other ponies pondered for a while.
"Well, that sounds fine," Dash said. Soon the other ponies agreed nodding. One pony did not agree, Rarity.
"Ugh! It’s the same thing with you five! Can't we switch it up a bit? Go to a high class bar? Or a nice banquet? Anything?!" she protested.
"Look suga, we do the same thing fer everyone. Now if you wanna go home, do so, now!" Applejack said with annoyance in her voice.
"Hm! Fine then, I'll leave you simpletons!" Rarity said and stormed off.
"Uhm, I-I can't join also..." Fluttershy mumbled.
"Why not Fluttershy? Is there a problem?" Twilight asked putting a hoof over her.
"W-Well I'm not a big fan o-of the club scene... I always feel something bad is gonna happen..." Fluttershy muttered.
"Well we wouldn't disagree with you. It's okay; go home, we'll be fine." Twilight said comfortingly. Fluttershy trotted off.
"Okie Doki Loki! We have twilight, Applejack, Dashie, me of course and Scratchy! Let's hit the bar!" Pinkie said. All the ponies cheered in agreement, and then headed off to the Ponyville Pub.
"Okay! Girls! Girls! Quiet down! I-I wanna make a toast to the fastest and stupidest pony in the world, Rainbow Dash!" Pinkie said, buzzed and raising her glass in the air.
"H-Hey! Watch who you're calling stupid, stupid!" Dash muttered. She was more drunk then Pinkie at the moment. All the ponies raised their glasses and clanged them together, yelling a very loud "CHEERS TO DASHIE!" After that Vinyl remembered nothing.
"Hey!"
"Hey, Scratchy! Get up!"
A voice said, trying to wake the sleeping disc jockey. "Aaruuggh..." Vinyl moaned and groaned.
"SCRATCHY! You’re up!" Pinkie cheered, jumping up and down. Vinyl found herself in Twilight's house, half underneath Twilight's bed, lying on the ground. Her vision blurred. She looked around, Twilight lying on the bed face down, as if she was sitting up and face planted downward. Applejack was lying under a pile of books and beer cans, how she got nopony knows. And lastly Pinkie's head seemed like it was hovering above Vinyl's head. "Vinyl! Hey! Wasn't last night grrreat?!" Pinkie said loudly. A pillow hit her head making her fall to the ground. "Hhhhhey!" Pinkie said, rubbing her head.
"SHUTTUP!" twilight yelled at Pinkie.
"Hmph! Looks like somepony woke up and the wrong side of the bed!" Pinkie said with a snooty inflection.
Vinyl had pulled herself out from underneath the bed, and got back on her hooves. "Ugh... I have like, no memory of last night..." Vinyl muttered.
"Oh! Really? I remember everything like when we were dancing and the- OH! Or like when Spik- OH OH! Or when we ate all of Ditzy's muffins!" Pinkie trailed on, but nopony listened. Vinyl soon was observing the house
"Where Is Rainbow Dash?" Vinyl asked. Pinkie stopped talking about what happened the previous night and looked around.
"I dunno... At home?" Pinkie said, still looking around. Vinyl soon noticed the strong pounding in her head. It was like somepony was slamming her head against a wooden wall.
"I-I gotta go home" Vinyl said as she walked to the door. Pinkie shouted something but Vinyl paid no attention to it. 'Boom Boom Boom' is all Vinyl heard as she stumbled home. She finally approached her house. As she walked to it she suddenly tripped and fell to the ground. "Ugh. Great, just what I needed." she looked at was she had tripped over and realized it was Rainbow Dash! "Hey Dashie, Dashie! Get up!" Vinyl called out.
"Ugh... Wha? Where am I?" Dash asked.
"Lying In my front lawn," Vinyl said giving her a cocky response.
"How did I get HERE??" Dash questioned, starting to get on her hooves.
"I dunno, but you can't stay here." Vinyl said. Rainbow dash nodded and tried to fly, to no avail.
"What the-?! I-I can't fly?! God damn it this always happens when I'm hungover!" Dash said, straining. She soon gave up, looked at Vinyl and said "Hey, could I bother you to use your shower? I can't fly home to mine." Vinyl, being the nice pony she is, agreed.
Vinyl sat on her couch, watching reruns of 'The Walking Dead'. "Huh, yea, think it would be a BAD idea to cover yourself in zombie blood and guts..." Vinyl said to herself. Rainbow Dash walked downstairs and sat next to Vinyl, her mane still wet from the shower she took.
“What are ya watching?" Dash asked.
"Walking Dead, it's a show bout these ponies trying to survive in a zombie apocalypse," Vinyl said.
"Sounds cool." Dash said. Soon afterward a knock at the door was heard. Vinyl jumped from her couch to the ground, trotting over to the door and opening it. There stood pinkie smiling happily.
"HEY VINYL!" she cheered.
"Oh, hey Pinkie, what’s up?" Vinyl said.
"Well, I wanted to ask you if-" she stopped when she saw Dash peering over Vinyl's shoulder. "Well? Ask me what?" Vinyl said, confused. "O-oh never mind, I'll come back later..." she trotted off, head hanging low. Vinyl closed the door and looked at Dash. "That was weird... Think something's wrong?" Vinyl asked Dash.
"Nah, Pinkie always has crazy mood swings." Dash answered, shrugging it off.
"I'm sure your right," Vinyl said.
"Well I better get home, thanks a lot for letting me chill till my wings got better, Vinyl." Dash added, opening the door.
"Oh, it wasn't a problem at all! Bye Dash!" Vinyl waved her off. She closed the door and headed for the stairs, but then came another knock at the door. "Argh! Come on!" she whined as she walked up to the door, opening it and seeing Pinkie standing there yet again. "O-Oh, sup Pinkie, why'd you run off before?" Vinyl questioned.
"Nevermind that! May I come in?" Pinkie said, strangely politely.
"Sure, come on in." Vinyl said, moving out of the way to let her in.
"Ohhh! It's so nice and vintage!" Pinkie said, admiring Vinyl's records and posters of 'Deadp0n3' and 'Skrillex'. "OHHH! Who are these colts?" Pinkie asked.
"Them? Oh, that's Deadp0n3 and Skrillex. My two favorite dubstep, house, and electro producers," Vinyl said. "This 'Skrillex' cut his mane so weirdly its funny!" pinkie said giggling.
"Yeah it's funny, but it's his signature." Vinyl said, now standing next to Pinkie.
"What's his music sound like?" Pinkie asked.
"Hey, I can play you one of his songs with my equipment over here!" Vinyl said, pointing over to what seemed to be, to Pinkie, strange mechanics and computers, switches and knobs, sliders, speakers and cords. Pinkie had never seen something so advanced.
"Ooh! Do it! Do it! Do it!" Pinkie cheered.
"Alright, I'll plaaay... Father Said!" Vinyl jumped to her post behind all the DJ equipment and began to press and click buttons, fiddle with a laptop and push sliders up and down. It began to make sounds that sounded so strange to Pinkie, she never heard this before, but she doesn't listen to dubstep. Pinkie was in awe staring at Vinyl, and then Pinkie heard faint words... 'Find me on Broadway,' she had no idea what it meant. Then, Vinyl began to sing

Pinkies pupils seemed to grow larger, entranced by her angelic voice.

Vinyl sung, entrancing Pinkie more. The rest of the song flew by. Before Pinkie knew it, the song was over.
"So, how was that, Pinkie?" Vinyl asked Pinkie as she was removing her headphones. Pinkie had no words. Her mouth just hung open, speechless. "Heh, I guess you liked it. So anyway, why did you come over anyways?" Vinyl asked.
"Oh, well I wanted to uh, ask you if you weren't busy tonight? A-are you?" Pinkie, falling out of her trance, said sheepishly and began to blush slightly.
"Uhh... No I don't think I do, why?" Vinyl asked.
"W-Well, I just wanted t-to know if you wanted to g-g-g..." Pinkie muttered her face bright red and scratching the ground. Vinyl knew what she was gonna ask and saw how painful and stressed she was about it.
"Go out? Is that what you’re trying to say?" Vinyl said, smiling.
"Y-Yeah..." pinkie said, still blushing.
"Pinkie, I didn't know that you had feelings for me, let alone knowing you’re into mares." Vinyl said teasingly. It had the opposite effect and Pinkie buried her face in her hooves, ashamed and shaking. "O-Oh uh, bad choice of words uhm... w-what I meant to say was, I'd love to, Pinkie."
Her head lifted up "R-Really? You will?" Pinkie asked she really didn't know how to respond. This is the first time she showed and told anyone how she really feels. "Of course! Why would I lie to one of my best buds?" Vinyl said, pushing Pinkie Pie gently.
"Thanks Vinyl, you won't regret this!" Pinkie said, jumping up and around Vinyl. She almost seemed to fly. "Oh, yay! Yay! Yay!" Pinkie cheered. "Thank you, Scratchy!" Pinkie said, still hopping around Vinyl. Vinyl giggled and laughed at her spastic behavior.
"Alright, calm down Pinkie." Vinyl said.
"Oki doki Loki!" Pinkie said, coming to a halt and began to trot to the door.
"Wait! Where are we going tonight?" Vinyl asked.
"Well, I was thinking we would go to that place on Mare Street, that fancy place! Oh! They have great soup! Let's go there!" Pinkie insisted.
"Haha, alright. I'll see you there at... let’s say 7?" Vinyl added.
"Oki Doki Loki! Bye bye!" Pinkie said as she pranced out.
Chuckling, Vinyl said "What a strange, energetic pony. She's a filly at heart..."
"Ohh! Miss Cake, what about this one?" Pinkie asked in a hurried tone. She was trying on many different dresses to find one that would suit her.
"That one’s too formal dear, try this one." Miss Cake said politely and calm.
"Ohhhh!! I love it! It’s perfect! It's not too simple, not too formal!" Pinkie said, pulling out a plain-looking dress with a glittered bottom. It was a light pink, lighter then Pinkie. "Thanks Miss Cake!" Pinkie said, hopping out of her room, scattered with clothing.
"Pinkie, I may not know Vinyl Scratch, but she sounds grand. I hope you guys have a great time!" Miss Cake said as she followed Pinkie to the door. "Oh, just one more thing deary." Miss Cake said, pulling a comb from her pocket.
"W-What's wrong with my mane?" Pinkie questioned.
"Well nothing really, but... your normal hair style is a bit odd, so, I thought I'd give you a more formal look." Miss Cake said. She saw the dismay in Pinkies eyes, but she continued on. Pinkie's mane was now was straightened up to a nice little curl same with the bottom. "There! Magnificent!" Miss Cake said, praising her handy work.
"Thanks... It's not THAT bad..." Pinkie said as she left to her date "Bye! And thank you!" Pinkie shouted at Miss Cake.
As the wonderfully dressed Pinkie hopped to her date, Twilight approached her. "Oh, hey Pinkie! Where are you going so dressed up?" Pinkie settled and looked at Twilight.
"Hey Twi! Where am I going? I'm uh... Going to meet my date!" Pinkie said, trying not to say who she's dating. She fears that her friends would shun her. "Really!? Oh I'm so happy for you! With who?" Twilight asked excitedly. Pinkie, now frantic, was looking for a way out of this. She began to blush and was stumbling on her words "I'm going- err I'm dating uh- I'm dating..." without thinking, she says "Big Mac!"
"Huh, I didn't know you liked him, he is nice though. Carry on!" Twilight trotted off. "Whoa, that was close!" Pinkie said to herself, then returned to her normal demeanor.
"Vinyl! Hey! Over here!" Pinkie yelled while approaching Vinyl, standing at the entrance of The Celestial Palace, the fancy restaurant mentioned earlier.
"Pinkie! Wow, you look great!" Vinyl complimented.
"Thanks! It took a long time to find the right one! First I tried the one with cupcakes on it but- Oh! And then I tried my gala dress but It was to form- Oh! And the Miss cake came up an-" Pinkie tried explaining but was stopped by a shush from Vinyl.
"Let's go eat, alright?" Vinyl asked.
"Oki Doki Loki!" Pinkie said, walking inside.
"Do you have a reservation?" the pony behind a podium, it was assumed he was a waiter, asked.
"As a matter of fact, I do, under DJ PON3?" Vinyl said looking at Pinkies wide grin.
"Ah yes, Miss Vinyl, right this way" the waiter pony said. He led them to a table; it was close to the corner of the restaurant and Vinyl loved it. It was so isolated from the others. A single candle, a bottle of wine, and two glasses sat on the table. The two mares sat, staring at each other. Pinkie's eye soon shot down as she blushed. Vinyl just giggled.
"Y-You’re very different without your glasses..." Pinkie said.
"Oh, yeah, well, not all ponies have red eyes like me!" Vinyl said. It was the one trait she had that set her apart from all the other ponies. Vinyl levitated the wine bottle and opened it, pouring Pinkie and herself a glass of ponyville's finest and only type of wine. "You don't plan on getting me drunk again, do you Pinkie?" Vinyl asked.
"No, silly filly! Unless you want to! It's so much fun!" Pinkie cheered up and said.
"Yeah, it’s fun but the next morning is terrible, ugh! I thought that hangover would never go away!" Vinyl complained.
"I don't see how it bothers you that much; I'm fine the next morning!" Pinkie stated.
"Yeah, you're one of those lucky ones!" she said, sipping her wine. The waiter approached them and politely asked what they wanted.
"Oooh! I'm getting the oat and noodle soup!" Pinkie said, looking at the menu
"Eh, I’ll have the same." Vinyl said. The waiter wrote it down and walked away.
"Pfft! Whadda meanie! He barely said anything anyways." Pinkie said with an annoyed inflection in her voice.
"Eh, I'd be mad too if my job was listening to people yell orders of food at me." Vinyl said and Pinkie was laughing intently. After she quieted down it was dead silent for a moment until...
"Hey, Scratchy, thanks for doing this at such short notice." Pinkie said sincerely.
"No, I get it. It was like an impulse, to lay your feelings out, I know how you feel. It's hard to ask someone out like you did, I respect that." Vinyl said. Pinkie grinned as their soups arrived
"That looks amazing!" Pinkie cheered as the waiter place the soups in front of them. He then walked off.
"Well? Let's dig in, I'm starving!" Vinyl said.
The next day, Pinkie was at home helping bake some cupcakes. She stepped outside for a breath of fresh air and saw Dash flying by and yelled "HEY DASHIE!!" Dash stopped and flew to Pinkie.
"Yeah, what's up Pinkie?" Dash asked.
"You'll never believe it! I was on a date yesterday!" Pinkie said, hopping around the flying Dash.
"Shut up! With who?" Dash asked as she landed.
"Well, her names-" Pinkie started but was interrupted.
"Wait... 'Her'?" Dash asked, thinking she meant his.
"Yeah! It was with Vinyl Scratch, DJ PON3!" Pinkie said with a huge grin on her face.
"DJ PON3? You went out with her?!" Dash nearly yelled, shocked.
"Keep your voice down! I'm still a little timid about what people think, but I thought you'd understand, you do right?" Pinkie asked.
"Well I do but, Vinyl? Why?" Dash asked Pinkie, who almost immediately responded
"Why Fluttershy?" Pinkie knew Dash like Fluttershy but just never said anything to her about it.
"GAH!? D-don't bring her in this! I-I like her- well... GAH NEVERMIND!" Dash flew off her, face bright red.
"Oki Doki Loki! Bye Dashie!" Pinkie cheerfully said as she trotted back inside. Suddenly the phone rang and Pinkie answered with "HI! It's Sugarcube Corner, can I help you?" Pinkie asked excitedly. "Two cupcakes? One with white icing and a black music note? Okay! One with pinkie icing and three balloons? Blue and yellow? OH HEY! Like my cutie mark! That's all? Okay bye!"
Pinkie seemed to be oblivious to who ordered the cupcakes; she didn't even realize the address until she was there. She knocked on the door and Vinyl opened it, smiling, knowing she would come.
"Vinyl?! You ordered these cupcakes?" Pinkie said, surprised.
"Tsk. Pinkie you're a little slow to the pickup aren't you? Who else would order our cutie marks on cupcakes?" Vinyl asked. Pinkie looked at the music note cupcake, then at Vinyl's flank, then back at the cupcake.
"OOOOOOHH! I get it!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"Come on in. Pinkie, place those cupcakes on my table." Vinyl said as Pinkie walked in, placing them on the table and looking at Vinyl Scratch.
"Hey! While I'm here, Twilight invited me to a sleepover at her house. Wanna come?!" Pinkie said, looking at her in anticipation of her saying 'yes'.
"Sure, why not?" Vinyl said, shrugging. Pinkie jumped on top of her in joy.
"Pinkie, you need self control! Get off!" Vinyl said in a slightly demanding tone.
"Nope!" Pinkie said.
"Please? I'll play you more dubstep?" Vinyl offered. Pinkie shot off of her like a bullet.
"OKAY!!" Pinkie said, sitting on the floor. Vinyl approached her DJ equipment put her headphones on, and began to play 'Turmoil' by Skrillex. Pinkie began to hear the opening beats, and it mesmerized her yet again, she loved it. Vinyl began to sing

Maybe I'm just crazy

Vinyl's voice pierced the heavens, she sung so beautifully. Pinkie was falling for her even more now. It was a short song. Pinkie was a little upset, but she was still amazed at Vinyl's DJing.
"Did you like it?" Vinyl asked. Pinkie stood up without saying a word and gave her a kiss. Vinyl jumped back from reaction. "W-Woah! P-Pinkie?!" Vinyl said as she was lying on the ground.
"Vinyl... YOU’RE SO AMAZING!!" Pinkie went to jump on her but vinyl quickly moved out of the way. Pinkie ended up flat on her face. "Ouchies..." Pinkie muttered.
"Sorry, I just DIDN'T want a crushed rib cage." Vinyl said jokingly. Pinkie stood up and turned to Vinyl.
"Well I gotta get back to work; remember, tonight at 7, Twilight's sleepover!" Pinkie said as she was walking out.
"I won't forget!" Vinyl said, watching Pinkie walk off.
"So girls, what are we doing next?" Twilight asked Rarity and Applejack, who were attending her slumber party. They sat on pillows placed on the ground.
"Hmm, how 'bout we tell scar-" Applejack began to say but stopped when a knock at the door was heard. Twilight rushed to get it.
"Pinkie! You made it!" Twilight said, letting her in.
"Annd you brought Vinyl Scratch..." Applejack added.
"Oh, sorry girls, a-am I intruding?" Vinyl said.
"No your fine, but Pinkie... next time tell me if your bringing a friend, okay?" Twilight said.
"Oh, sorry Twi! I just wanted you gals to meet my marefriend!" Pinkie said loudly. Applejack, who was drinking apple cider, spit it in Rarity's face from the shock.
"M-Marefriend? Y'all are datin'?" Applejack asked.
"Yup!" Pinkie calmly said. Vinyl blushed, looking down at the floor.
"Yeah, since two days ago or so... It hasn't been very long..." Vinyl said she seemed shy around people she barely knows.
"So no one is going to mention how this HILL BILLY PONY JUST RUINED MY HAIR!?!" Rarity yelled, frustrated.
"WHO YA CALLIN HILL BILLY!? I OUGHTA TO PUNCH YA!" Applejack yelled back.
"YOU WANNA THROW HOOVES I'LL THRO-" Rarity stopped when she felt a light brush threw her mane. She twisted around and saw Vinyl with a hair dryer and a comb. "W-What are you doing?" Rarity asked.
"Well, since your hair is really curly like that, it's best to straighten it, and then dry it. It's the best way to do it." Vinyl continued to brush, humming lightly.
"T-Thanks Vinyl..." Rarity muttered, still in shock that she is doing this and that she knew what to do.
"Aww! That's nice girls!" Pinkie said.
"Okay, well, while Vinyl does that... Applejack, why don't you tell us a scary story?" Twilight said.
"Well okay, This is the story of a crazy old pony that once lived in Ponyville... No one really knew the old stallion, because he barely left the house..." As Applejack's story came to a close, all the ponies were scared. Vinyl was clinging to Pinkie and Rarity was listening with great intent. Twilight had a blanket thrown over her. "and the old pony looked in the mirror and saw it... He saw the Shadow Pony standing behind him! He grabbed the old man, pleading to leave him alone, that he'll change his ways... But it was too late. A loud bang was heard fro-" just then a loud knock was heard. Vinyl jumped up and grabbed Pinkie so tight that she couldn't breathe. Rarity hid her head under a pillow shaking.
"G-Girls it’s just the d-door... I guess I'll get it..." Twilight said, walking to the door. She slowly opened the door shaking. It's who was standing there that made Twilight jump. "P-Princess Luna?!" Twilight stammered.
"Yes it is I! Luna! I came here to invite you and your friends to the annual 'Solar Eclipse Party'!" Luna announced.
"Wow! We'd love to! Where is it?" Twilight asked.
"It is being held in the Canterlot Castle, there shall be many guests and the Royal Family!" Luna said.
"Well we will definitely be there, Luna. Thanks for inviting us!" Twilight said.
"No problem, you did save me and all of Equestria after all! I shall have a carriage awaiting you here tomorrow at 5pm!" Luna said before flying off. Twilight shut the door and turned to the other ponies and squealed.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE WE GOT INVITED BY LUNA HERSELF!!" Twilight cheered.
"Tomorrow? And shucks ah can't go! Gotta lot a work ta do at Sweet Apple. Sorry girls, hey maybe vinyl can go instead?" Applejack suggested.
"Well, I mean, if I doesn't bother you girls?" vinyl added all the ponies shook the heads. "Well I guess I'm going then!" Vinyl cheerfully said. Pinkie, overjoyed, jumped on her saying "Yay" over and over again. "Damn it Pinkie! Haha, get off!" Vinyl said making all the ponies laugh.
The next day, Vinyl was dressed and ready to leave for the Solar Eclipse Party. "Hm, well, I guess I'll head out! I can't wait to see Canterlot Castle!" Vinyl said, talking to herself. She walked out and started toward Twilight's home. She was stopped by Ditzy and Dinky. "Vinyl where are you going dressed all fancy-ish?" Ditzy asked. "Well, I'm off to the Canterlot Castle, Luna came to Twilight's an-" vinyl tried to explain but was stopped by Dinky.
"You're gonna see the castle?!" Dinky asked, looking up at her with awe.
"That's right Dinky; I'm going to see the Princess and everything! I've already kinda met Princess Luna!" Vinyl said crouching down to the fillies’ eye level.
"Woow! That's amazing!" Dinky said in amazement.
"That's pretty impressive Vinyl; your new friends seem close to the Royal Family!" Ditzy added.
"I guess so... Then again they DID stop Nightmare Moon and Discord so, I assume they would be," Vinyl said. "Well, I better get going. Cya girls!" Vinyl happily trotted off. She soon arrived at Twilight's home.
"Ugh! Vinyl your finally here, good lets go everypony!" Twilight said right after Vinyl entered the house. All the ponies entered the awaiting carriage, sat down and headed off to Canterlot.
They arrived slightly later then wanted, but were still greeted at the entrance.
"Welcome! Welcome! I am glad you could make it!" Luna said, walking along side Twilight. The room was very large with a very large concert stage in the back. You had a mix of high class and lower class ponies there, the higher classes stayed off to the left or right while most of the lower classes danced in the center. A large stained glass window above the entrance, high enough that the sun shines directly in through it.
"Wow... Luna this is amazing! You and Celestia must have put a lot of effort in this!" Twilight said, gazing around the room, the other ponies are doing the same. Vinyl noticed on the stage some high tech DJ equipment.
"Hey, Miss Luna? May I ask what that DJ equipment is for?" Vinyl said running up to Luna.
"Why it's for the live performance of-" Luna began when all the lights went out. "is everypony ready for the master of Dubstep?" a deep voice boomed through the seemingly 2 story speakers. "GET READY FOR SKRILLEX!!”
Vinyl nearly fell to the ground. "S-S-Skrillex is h-h-here?!" Vinyl said staring at Luna.
"Of course! We spared no expense for entertainment!" Luna announced. Vinyl darted to the stage, plowing through a huge crowd ponies and fell over onto other ponies, but Vinyl needed to be in the front row to see him, her idol.
"Alright guys, this is Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites." Skrillex said right before he began he looked down and stared at Vinyl, then looked back up, vinyl's heart raced. His voice boomed through Vinyl. He began to play; Vinyl now understood how Pinkie felt while watching her.
Skrillex played First of The Year (Equinox) and then All I Ask of You. Vinyl was in Heaven, her heart still booming. Pinkie, now standing next to Vinyl, looked at her and said "Vinyl? You okay?" All Vinyl did was nod. Then Skrillex came over the mic.
"Alright I hope you guys enjoyed my performance, I love playing' for ya Luna and everypony! But... Before I get down I want to do one more thing..." the lights turn out again, the crowd muttering. Click! A single spot light shines on Vinyl. "Hey! DJ PON3! Get your flank up here!" Skrillex yelled down at her. Vinyl stood, trying to comprehend what just happened. Reality hit her as Pinkie pushed her on stage. "Hey PON3, what's up?" Skrillex said.
"Y-Y-Your Skrillex... and you’re talking t-to me?" Vinyl stuttered.
"Yeah, I heard from that pink pony down there that I was your idol. So I thought why not let you play a song or two with me?" Skrillex said to Vinyl in a very calm voice.
"Oh... My... Celestia..." Vinyl had a hard time getting those words out.
"So you want to?" Skrillex asked, handing over a pair of headphones.
"HELL YES! Can we play Father Said?" Vinyl asked.
"Sure, why not?" Skrillex said. Vinyl knew that that was Pinkie Pie's favorite song. Vinyl approached the DJ equipment. Skrillex said over the mic "Alright my friends, here's gonna be Father Said! Get ready!!" Everypony cheered, and when Vinyl looked down at Pinkie she had a huge grin. She began to play, very cautiously at first, but a quick glance at Skrillex changed that. She began playing normally, and she looked over at Skrillex again when the singing part came up. Vinyl and Skrillex began to sing together.

Vinyl couldn't be happier. After they finished, they trotted off stage with applause.
"Damn Vinyl, you’re pretty good!" Skrillex said.
"Y-Yeah you think?" Vinyl said.
"Hey. Knock it off with the shyness thing you got going on here, there's no need to be shy, I'm just a pony." Skrillex said. Vinyl was about to say something but Pinkie ran up and hugged her.
"Ohh! I'm so so SO proud of you!" Pinkie said.
"Thanks Pinkie... Let go your killing me!" Vinyl said, choking.
"Oopsie!" Pinkie said, backing away.
"And this is Pinkie Pie? Your marefriend?" Skrillex pointed out.
"Yeah, that's her." Vinyl said sheepishly.
"Well pinkie, you have a very talented mare in your hooves, don't let it go." Skrillex said looking at Pinkie.
"Oh, I know! She’s so nice and good with fillies and she’s great at making music!" Pinkie cheered, throwing a hoof around Vinyl.
"Hey, Vinyl if you ever need me, just call me." Skrillex said as he handed over a slip of paper to Vinyl. Written on it was his phone number.
"Y-You're kidding right?" Vinyl muttered.
"Nah, you're an awesome pony and DJ!" Skrillex said.
Slam!
Vinyl passed out from this, she had no idea how to react.
"Hm?" Vinyl moaned, her eyes opened and she began looking around. It took a while to register where she was, but she was lying in Pinkie's bed. "How did I get here?" she questioned. Soon afterward the door opened and Pinkie walked in.
"Scratchy! You're awake! Great!" Pinkie Pie said, walking up to Vinyl and hugging her.
"How long was I out?" Vinyl asked.
"About 30-40 minutes, man, you really couldn't handle that!" Pinkie said sitting on the bed.
"Yeah, I guess so." Vinyl said, hopping on the bed as well, looking for Skrillex's number.
"It's on the night stand, next to you..." Pinkie said, lying down. Vinyl lay down next to her smiling. The two ponies looked into each other’s eyes. "Your eyes are beautiful..." Pinkie said, staring at Vinyl's red eyes.
"Thanks, Pinkie... You're so sweet, I'm so glad I took the chance with you." Vinyl said, staring lovingly into the pink ponies eyes. Pinkie grabbed vinyl and snuggled against her. Vinyl just laid there, looking down at the pink pony. She kissed Pinkie on the forehead. The pink mare feel asleep snuggled with Vinyl, who soon followed. Vinyl quietly muttered, “I love ya pinkie...”
