Prologue: Meeting the Sisters

It had only been several days since Sugar Belle, her darling Night Glider, and the rest of the village’s residents had been freed and allowed their cutie marks once more. The first act that Sugar Belle had done was pin down the starry blue pegasus and scissor their marehoods together whilst locking their lips in a moment that the two would never forget. Moments after crashing into their bed and catching their breath, Sugar Belle leaped off the bed and started babbling about her four sisters back at Sire’s Hollow. Night Glider nodded as she listened, remembering how Starlight came to Sugar Belle one day, promising of a village where everypony was treated equally. Night Glider scoffed, the two-timing unicorn pulled that schtick at Cloudsdale too, and had fooled her and several others. Then, as she took in her marefriend’s bright eyes and poofy mane as she spoke, Night Glider’s body relaxed. Manipulated or not, the events still lead Sugar Belle and Night Glider to each other. That was the only truth that Night Glider could thank Starlight for, if she was still around.

“We have to go see my sisters! You’re going to love them!” Sugar Belle insisted, jumping back onto the bed and placing her hooves over Night Glider’s shoulders. Night Glider placed a hoof over her marefriend’s poofy mane, slowly moving it down her mane as she smiled at her and nodded. A break from the village, and meeting Sugar Belle’s family? How could the pegasus say no?

So only days later, Night Glider found herself staring at the window on the train seat with Sugar Belle dozing away against her shoulder. The sleeping unicorn held their one suitcase against her chest, and Night Glider stared at each mountain they passed by. There was little for the dark blue pegasus to go off on, besides Sugar Belle’s promises of a smoothie shack that’d blow her mind. What was there to know about her marefriend’s sisters? She’d have to wait until Sugar Belle woke up, so her heart started beating fast. What if they didn’t like her? Did they even know that Sugar Belle liked mares?

Night Glider shook her head, and took several deep breaths. She would be the best mare she could be in front of these sisters, and that had to be enough. Sneaking a wing behind Sugar Belle’s back, Night Glider wrapped it around her marefriend as she leaned against Sugar Belle’s head and closed her eyes...

Only a few hours later, Night Glider flew after her marefriend as she galloped into Sire’s Hollow, the magic around her horn taking their luggage with her. Glider barely had time to take in the sights and ponies around them as she never took her eyes off the dashing unicorn. Towards the end of Sire’s Hollow resided a tall house that could be three stories tall, and had flowers of many colors growing on either side of the stairs leading to the porch and front door. Sugar Belle bolted up the stairs, resting the luggage next to her as her hoof flew to the doorbell. Night Glider felt a cold jolt run throughout her body at the sound of the doorbell. She took a deep breath, only to be cut off by the sound of stampeding hooves. The door swung open just as Night Glider attempted a mental rundown of her words, and all of those words were thrown out the window as Night Glider took in the four ponies at the other side of the door.

Four mares that shared the same physique and poofy mane as her marefriend, only of varying fur colors. A light orange mare with a dark orange mane and eyes was the first one to lunge for Sugar Belle in what Night Glider could only imagine as a soul-squeezing hug, with a light grey mare with a dark grey mane and eyes hugging Sugar Belle and their orange sister shortly after. A baby blue mare with a navy blue mane and a lime green mare with a forest green mane joined in the group hug, grinning as Sugar Belle looked at her four sisters.

“So, I take it you received my letter?” Sugar joked, causing the four sisters to chuckle. Night Glider kept her hooves firmly planted against the floor, waiting for the right moment. Sure enough, ten pairs of eyes landed on her as the orange mare waved her forward. Night Glider jumped off the ground, flying over and wrapping her forelegs around the five mares.

“This is my marefriend, Night Glider,” Sugar explained. “Night Glider, this is Cheddar Belle, Pigeon Belle, Blueberry Belle, and Limey Belle. Don’t worry, their fur should be clue enough to which one is which.”

“Is Belle a last name?” Glider asked.

“Sure is!” Cheddar glanced up at the pegasus with a wide grin. “It comes from our mother, Southern Belle. Instead of taking the second half of our Dad’s name, Mom thought it was a good idea to give all her daughters the second half of her own. And she gave birth to five Belles!”

“Is Southern Belle here?” Night Glider asked, her heart quickening at the thought of meeting the mother.

“Oh no, her and Dad have been travelling Equestria,” Blueberry replied. “They’ve been sending us postcards and souvenirs on and off for the past three years, I’m pretty sure they’re in Las Pegasus right now!”

“Haven’t they been there for the past three months now?” Limey snickered. “Y’know, what happens in Las Pegasus…”

Limey glanced at Night Glider with a smirk and half-lidded eyes, and Night Glider felt a hot jolt throughout her body from the bottoms of her hooves to the tips of her wings. Glancing away from the green mare, Night Glider felt her heart thumping against her chest as she tried to force anything to come out of her mouth to pierce through the silence.

“Shall we go in?” Cheddar broke away from the hug, walking inside before her sisters could respond. Only, the walk was slow, and the sisters turned their heads to look as Cheddar’s tail flicked to the side to reveal a glistening snatch the shade of her name. Night Glider’s mouth gaped open, before closing not a second later as she glanced down at Sugar Belle. The pegasus did a double take as she thought she saw a glint of saliva around Sugar Belle’s lips.

I think I’m just a little pent up after the train ride, a little romp with Sugar later should relieve the tension. Right?
