A teenager is seen in a not so tidy room, drinking mountain dew while writing his school essay. A few days ago, he finished the game Shadow The Hedgehog. AKA, OW THE EDGE. but he was just finishing up his essay until he got a call from his best friend: Charles.
“Hello?”
“Yo Marcus! You wanna come to the arcade?” Charles asks as Marcus smiles.
“Aren't those extinct by now dude?” Marcus inquired as his friend gave a sarcastic laugh.
“Oh ha ha. But in all seriousness, do you wanna go or no?” Marcus thought for a moment. He did only have a bit of work left, and he has more than five days to get the essay done…
“Yeah man, be there in a few.”
Marcus was walking down the street to the arcade. It was ten minutes listening to “I Am All Of Me”, he had a car, but then heard some commotion from around the alleyway. He sees a stunning girl with curves. She had black hair and blue eyes as she backed up more and more from some guys that he guessed were flirting with her, and she was denying all of their advances. He ran and hid behind a dumpster.
“Come on, it’ll be fun~!” One creep said as Marcus’ eye started twitching.
“I SAID NO!” He pinned her up to a wall. Marcus had enough. Then…
“EAT CRUST FAGGOT!” He kicked the guy in the face as he stumbled back in pain as the girl hid behind him. All of them surrounded him. They grab them and toss him to the ground and beat the shit out of them. To add salt to the wound, one guy pulled out a gun. That went from zero to a hundred real quick as he shot Marcus. Given the short time he was occupying them, that gave the girl enough time to call the cops.
“Ah shit! The cops!” They all ran when the girl walked up to Marcus. Crying while looking at him. This man saved her from the worst from what could have possibly happened to her.
“Hey… what's… your... name?” He asked as he coughed up blood as she hugged him.
“...Maria.” She sobbed as he patted her back to comfort. Then, he fell limp…
Marcus was awoken by the sound of water streaming near him. He opened his eyes to the scene of a forest with a tinge of pain in his head. He raises himself up as he hears the soft sound of metal hitting the grass. He looks down to see Air Shoes. They are mainly white and smooth with black heel regions. Above the topline, each shoe has a red tongue and black collar encircled by a single Inhibitor Ring. Around the rim of the soles, the Air Shoes have red strips of metal on the rear and front of the bottom, broken below the in-steps. Over time, these strips have been depicted with spots where the red paint has been scratched off. He raises an eyebrow as he takes off the shoe to look at it further. Yeah, it’s metal. He then knows what they do and what they are.
“Wait, these are Air shoes! And I'm… No…” He looked towards the river and observed his new look. He had on baggy pants, wore white gloves with black cuffs and red tongues with inhibitor rings, and had six quill like hair appendages. on his head, four of which curve upwards and two that curve downwards. All with red stripes. His eyes were now red as well.
“I’M SHADOW?!” He thought for a moment. He then started to fast walk, then started skating. He remembers skating, but hasn’t ever done it. He brushes it off as gain speed, dodging trees and started to remember another piece:
He now knew how to use chaos boost and control. No, not Chaos spears, or teleportation. He also gained the ability to do the homing attack. On his “run”, he heard screams of help in the distance. He then kicked it up to high gear.
Marcus then spots three fillies cornered by a manticore. He was confused, they had clothes on and had stood on two hooves. But he then reaches into his pocket and…
Grabbed a gun…
He was shocked, but an idea came to his head! He then fired two rounds into it’s back. It roared in pain as it turned around, only to receive a harsh kick to the face. It roared again as it lunged forward at Marcus. He proceeds to uppercut it. Shadow had superhuman strength; with effort, he can overturn large objects many times his weight and size such as trucks, buses and large slabs of concrete with one hand, and Marcus now had the exact strength. He then jumps, curls into a spinball and launches straight into the manticore. After hitting, the attack's force caused Marcus to bounce off the manticore. He then struck a pose in mid air. It was completely knocked out. He then looked towards the three fillies.
“Pretty cool, right?” They all nod and cheer as a yellow mare flies in just in time. She had a body that models craved for. She gasped as she saw Shadow. She was Fluttershy. She walked up to the superhuman cautiously as he turned and gave her a thumbs up with a smirk.
“They’re fine! It was so easy, like taking candy from a baby. Which is fine by me.” he said as she sighed in relief. He then began to skate off. He then felt a hand grab his shoulder softly.
“Wait. come with us… if you don’t mind…” He shrugs as he walks with her. She was taller than him, but he didn’t care as he walked along with her.
“By the way, I am Shadow the Human. A research experiment, gone wrong. This is who I am. And if the world chooses to become my enemy....I will fight like I always have!” She looked at him with confusion and most of all, uncertainty.
