It's a beautiful Monday morning. Normally people hate this day, but not me at least not this particular Monday. For today is my 18th birthday. Not only am I an adult I will also be able to finally be allowed to see what my Grandpa Eric hid away in our attic. He specifically instructed my parents to not let me see what he stored there until I'm 18. That was the last thing he said before he went missing while Caribou hunting. "Aaron sweetie me and your Father have a suprise for you." I hear my mother shout to my room. "Coming mom." I shout back as I put my pen down, and open the door heading to the living room in a hurry. As I enter the living room I'm greeted by my parents. "Happy birthday to you Aaron!!" "Thank you this birthday is going to be awesome." Mom hands me a plane silver colored key. "I know your eager to see what's in the attic so I am letting you open the door as your first present." my dad chimed in. "see if he left anything for me will ya?" "Sure I promise." I reply. I race to the attic door at such a speed that would put Usain bolt to shame. I jam the the key in and burst through the door. The first thing I see are Caribou skulls lots and lots of Caribou skulls as well as toys,drawings,and games of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic? I loved that show, but I didn't think grandpa liked it as well. What really caught my attention was a light blue hexagonal chest with 5 silver keys sticking out of of it. Am I supposed to put this key in the last keyhole? Just then the the key started glowing all rainbow-like and levitated. I grabbed the key and it pulled me to the chest. After placing the key inside the keyhole, and giving it a good turn.The chest started glowing. "Why is it glowing and is it glowing brighter?!" I ask myself. I should probably get down before-annnd I'm completely engulfed by darkness. "GREAT JUST GREAT CAN THIS GET ANY WORSE!" Im ok deep breaths,chill out, and figure out where I am. I've been floating in some kind of dark void for the past 5 minutes before I finally felt the sweet sensation of ground beneath my feet. The issue is I can barely see two feet in front of me. From what little I can tell this is a waste land made of stone and, darkness with banshee sounding winds, and the occasional Red lightning. My only hope of not dying or having a panic attack is to follow this narrow stone path. I keep walking on the path till I come upon a bright,plaid,and multicolored light. When I'm right in front of it the light transforms into the head of a chaotic fiend I know all to well. "well, hello wayward human tell me have you enjoyed your stay in the realm of shadows?" "Terrible just terrible haven't spent a dime and I want a refund." I joke causing us both to chuckle. "Well then I'm guessing you want a way out right?" "Yeah I really don't want to spend my birthday here." "Well your in luck." Discord says as he beams a wide grin, "I want revenge on those... bleh goody four shoed ponies, and you need out of here so let's strike a agreement." "What agreement would that be?" I ask. "It's simple you cause chaos in equestria which will speed up the decay of my prison, then we run wild in equestria doing whatever we want!" He shouts triumphantly. There's just one problem. "How do I cause chaos with no powers and, without pissing off miss I can move a bucking star at will." discord giggles at my description of celestia. "That's where I come in you see I am the physical embodiment of chaos. I can use my powers to empower you with a cosmic concept. Once you have it you will use it as you see fit against equestria." This guy is nuts I'm not going to hurt the character's of my favorite show, but I need out of here so I'll pretend to be on his side. "What power would I get pal?" I say with a shit eating grin. "Why the power of universal acceptance of course consider it a birthday present from a new friend." "What's that supposed to mean?" "I can do whatever I want and nobody cares?" "Bingo you hit the screw on the ball. To an extent you can do anything without consequence!" Then Discord says in a warning tone. "There are two major drawbacks. One if you fail to use your concept a certain amount of times you die by fading away. Two since I'm bootstrapping a cosmic concept to your body it may overpower and destroy you." "However, I Discord spirit of chaos can protect you from the second one with my magic so long as you stay on my side." "Ok deal just one request tell my family I'm ok and that I'm adventuring." Discord smiles. "Of course just lay down so I can start the process." I lay down discord powers up and shoots a beam at me. Then I pass out. I awoke to the sound of rustling trees. I sit up and notice I'm in the everfree forest. "HOLY COW IM IN EQUESTRIA BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!!!" I shout at the top of my lungs. I notice it is almost sunset so I start heading to the direction i think is Ponyville. After 10 minutes of walking i come across a impassable river. Then out from river came a massive sea serpent who could only be Steven Magnet. "Oh hello creature I've never seen you around before." "hey my name is Aaron I'm a human wishing to cross this river. Nice mustache by the way." "Oh thank you I worked really hard on it say do you need help across?" "yes please that would be very helpful." he proceeded to make a bridge out of his body. After crossing I asked. "Thanks it was a pleasure to meet you what's your name?" "I am Steven Magnet it's nice to meet you as well." I then went on my way. After some more walking I come up a hill overlooking the town of Ponyville. It's just as beautiful as I imagined. it's almost dark I need to find a place to stay and figure out how to control this power. Author's Note And done it took a bit but I finally got this up I was inspired by aunatural's story of universal acceptance.
