Sunset Shimmer might as well be a black cat, with how much bad luck seems to follow her everywhere that involves magic. Yet ending up in a place other than Equestria and becoming a fugitive within 24 hours just has to be the icing on the cake.

Stranded on the Boiling Isles, Sunset takes refuge at a sentient house, where two witch sisters sharing a curse, a big-headed demon, and a human girl/witch in-training help her hone her rediscovered magic powers and get back home.

• Post-canon MLP/EqG, the girls are currently in their senior year and Princess Twilight has been ruling Equestria for about six moons (CHS started around the time Luz has been admitted into Hexside).
• Set sometime after the Season 1 finale of The Owl House and is an alternate take on the second season (while retaining as much canonical aspects as possible).
• Mild violence throughout the story, but most prominent in one single chapter, gore tag to be added later.
