Chapters Flashback:Starlight was currently in her room disappointed in herself after all she almost got the Changeling Hive destroyed all because of her stupid plan, it didn’t really help when Thorax and Trixie rubbed it in that she screwed up, although she can’t be mad at Thorax since the Maulwurf did almost destroy his hive thanks to her so he has every right to be upset, and she’s surprised Twilight wasn’t mad at her, well yeah of course she was disappointed in Starlight obviously but not mad so that did make her feel a bit better, but she still felt very upset.
There was a knock on the door and Starlight sighed before replying “It’s open.”
The door opened and Spike walked in and said “Uh hey Starlight, look I heard what happened, and well I know you had no malicious intentions and I figured you could use some company. So do you wanna talk about it?”
Starlight was shocked at this “I thought you would be mad at me since everything I do just makes things worse, I don’t need your pity I deserve whatever lecture you want to throw at me.” she said.
Spike was a bit shocked at what Starlight was saying but he figured she would feel like this, she normally felt guilty whenever she screwed up badly but given how bad things could have gotten he didn’t blame her. However she doesn’t deserve to suffer, she had no intention to hurt any of the Changelings, he knew that and he knew Starlight needed some comfort but she just won’t admit it.
“No you don’t always make things worse, Starlight I may not approve of what you did, but I know you and I know you don’t mean for things to go wrong, you just act on impulse too much, if you just put more thought into your plans and consider how they could go wrong, well things will get better, like when the Changelings invaded you saved Equestria just using your brain, you didn’t rely on your magic and you thought carefully so don’t say you make things worse, because that’s just not true. You make mistakes sure, but you always learn from them besides even when you act on impulse it did kinda work out for everyone involved, Pharynx accepted love and friendship in his life so what I’m trying to say is don’t act on impulse all the time because it could have very negative consequences but don’t beat yourself up about it either.” Spike stated.
Starlight was a bit touched by what he said and smiled. “Thanks Spike I needed that and you’re right I do need to consider the consequences a bit more before I go through with any of my plans again but I won’t beat myself over it either.” Starlight embraces the dragon in her hooves, Spike was a bit surprised but he gladly hugged back but he secretly blushed when Starlight wasn’t looking. Spike told Starlight “I can’t take all the credit you did the same for me. I guess you rubbed off on me a bit huh.”
Starlight put her hoof near her mouth and chuckled a bit and released him from the hug. “Yeah I guess I did, didn’t I. Well thanks anyway Spike you’re a great friend.” Starlight praised.
“Anytime Starlight.” Spike said.
Flashback ended
Spike looked back at that memory and he still smiled, and walked back to his room and laid on his bed, the truth was that he really cared about Starlight, he began getting a crush on her after how she was there for him, when the crowd of ponies bullied him, he realized his crush on Rarity was getting nowhere anyway and he was okay with just being friends with her. He does not want to force any romance between him and Starlight, like he tried to do with Rarity that was a mistake on his part, and besides when he thought about it more he is afraid of rejection and he does not want to ruin their friendship. He’s perfectly okay with being Starlight’s friend after all if she is happy with that, he’s happy so why should he ruin that. He has only told Big Mac since he felt he could trust Big Mac, he doesn’t want to pressure Twilight by having her keep that secret about having a crush on one of her friends again plus he can not trust Discord since he does not know if he will keep his mouth shut since he is a bit of a mixed bag when secrets are involved, plus he is a wild card so he might just expose him for fun, he could be wrong but he does not feel like taking any chances.
Starlight paced around her room a bit she remembered the moment when Spike comforted her and it brought her joy. So why was pacing a bit, you ask? Well she had a secret and it was a bit hard to keep, she has a crush on Spike, but she did not want to ruin their friendship and she’s afraid of rejection, so she’s been keeping it a secret and honestly that was for the better, he just got over Rarity and she did not want to take advantage of him or make him stressed out, that was the last thing he needs, but the thing she was most scared about was hurting Spike, she did not want him to become her servant or be some throw rug she takes advantage of. She did not feel like she was ready for love after how she acted back in “Our Town”. She knows she may have gotten over her fear of leadership but here is what she is concerned about, she does not know about how she would act in a relationship and that terrifies her. She feels like she would probably just treat Spike like a pack mule, or push him around and she does not want to make him suffer like that since he did not deserve that after all he and Twilight have done for her, he clearly deserves better than that, and he deserves better than her. So it is best if they just stay friends. After all if he was happy with that than she was happy even if it broke her heart a bit inside. As Starlight was thinking this a tear slipped down her cheek.

Credit to Switch Swap for the story idea, we’re working together on this project, also I certainly went a little deep at the end, but that’s Starlight for you. Sorry if I made you a sad or if this was a bit sensitive, but don’t worry during the story she will not be as depressed and the story will get happier especially when I bring Discord and Pinkie Pie in, I had the flashback take place in “To Change A Changeling” since Starlight probably felt extreme guilt at that moment so I figured why not use that episode. Spike comforting her made sense since he deals with Discord and he forgave Discord for betraying Equestria so I can buy him forgiving an accident like Starlight’s actions. Now I’m not saying Starlight’s innocent in that situation because she clearly wasn’t. Hopefully I post the next chapter soon.
Starlight opened up the castle door entrance and she heard pacing in another room and see Twilight pacing at the room where the map table is, she knew Twilight and she knows when she was stressed so she decided to see what was going on.
“Twilight is everything okay?” Starlight asked comfortingly while putting a hoof on Twilight’s shoulder stopping her from pacing anymore.
Twilight calmed down a bit when she heard Starlight but she was still stressed out.
“No it is not okay I told Spike to leave the castle earlier today and now I don’t know where he is, I didn’t see him at the school of Friendship or anywhere in Ponyville and I’m super worried about him.” Twilight explains.
“Have you seen Spike?” Twilight asked Starlight while pressing the unicorn up against the castle walls.
Starlight felt a bit awkward at this positioning but she remained calm.
“Okay Twilight first of all can you let go of me? I’m kinda uncomfortable.” Starlight asked.
Twilight let go of Starlight when she realized what she did.
“Sorry about that, I’m just worried.” Twilight apologized.
“It’s okay I understand, and also second of all he was at the school in some weird trench coat, sunglasses, and a hat for some reason.” Starlight explained.
“Oh he probably wore those because he had some stone scales all over his body, and he did not want anybody to see him like that.” Twilight explained.
“Wait what are stone scales?” Starlight asked.
“I don’t know, I plan on getting some cream for those at Zecora’s, but we’re getting off topic.” Twilight explained.
“ So maybe he’s just getting some cream for the scales at Zecora's.” Starlight guessed.
“At the Everfree Forest! It’s dangerous there he almost got eaten by Timberwolves there, and in his condition he might actually die out there.” Twilight spoke in a panicked voice.
When Starlight heard that last part she was scared for Spike, she cared so much for the dragon heck she loved- wait no not loved him but enjoyed his company yeah that’s it. She has got to get over this silly crush on him. She needed to put on a brave face for Twilight so she decided to hide her fears.
“Okay so let’s just head to the Everfree forest now, before Spike gets put in danger.” Starlight suggested.
“That’s a great idea.” Twilight exclaimed.
As Twilight and Starlight headed for the Everfree Forest Twilight and Starlight talked a bit.
“Starlight I’m sorry I went a bit crazy back at the castle.” Twilight apologized.
“It’s okay Twilight you were concerned for your little brother figure, I get it. I’m a bit concerned for him myself he’s one of my best friends. I’d be really sad if anything bad happened to him. We’ll find him don’t worry.” Starlight explained.
“You’re right Starlight, we’ll find him, I hope.” Twilight said.
They soon heard someone groaning and scratch noises, Twilight and Starlight followed the noises and soon found Spike covered in stone scales with his body glowing red and scratching against the tree.
For some reason despite him being covered in those weird scales and his really bad odor, I don’t feel any less attracted to him. Starlight thought but then she shook those thoughts out of her head.
What is wrong with me, my friend is suffering and all I care about is my shallow attraction to him, okay just focus on helping Spike for now.
“Spike what are you doing?” Twilight asked in a concerned voice.
Spike opened his eyes and realized Twilight and Starlight were right near him.
“If my stone scales didn’t itch right now, and if we weren’t in immediate danger this would be super embarrassing right now.” Spike explained in an anguished voice.
“Danger?!” Starlight fearfully asked.
A gigantic bird then swooped down and tried to grab the dragon in its claws but Twilight teleported Spike, Starlight, and herself away from the bird to another part of the forest just before it grabbed them.
“Well we were looking for you and seeing if we could head to Zecora’s for some cream for your scales. I had no idea that you were-“ Twilight began explaining.
“About to be eaten by a gigantic predator bird attracted to my Molt smell.” Spike finished explaining.
“Molt smell?” Starlight asked.
Starlight and Twilight then heard the bird screeching as it was heading straight for them and Spike and Starlight then pushed herself, Twilight and Spike away from the bird. They then heard Rarity screaming in terror.
“Was that Rarity?” Twilight asked.
“And Zecora. I tried to save them but it’s all I can do to stop scratching long enough to dive out of the way.” Spike explained.
“Twilight you go save them, I ‘ll stay with Spike to make sure he does not get eaten.” Starlight stated.
“Okay, good luck you guys.” Twilight nervously exclaimed before chasing after the bird.
While Twilight was fighting the bird, Starlight and Spike were alone in the forest.
“So what’s going on Spike? You’ve been acting strange all day.” Starlight asked.
“I’ve been going through a new stage called the molt, it’s where dragons begin going through some sort of maturity.” Spike explained.
“Well that does make sense since you are eighteen. It’s still unexpected.” Starlight nervously exclaimed.
“I’m sorry I’ve been ignoring all of you I was just embarrassed.” Spike apologized.
“It’s okay but none of us are going to stop caring about you because of something you can’t control.” Starlight said.
“Thanks Starlight.” Spike said.
Spike suddenly stopped feeling itchy.
“As thank goodness I thought it would never end.” Spike spoke in relief.
Then Spike suddenly started becoming encased in stone which worried both him and Starlight.
“Ah! Starlight what’s happening to me?” Spike fearfully asked.
“I don’t know.” Starlight said.
While Spike was getting encased he decided at this point it wasn’t worth hiding his feelings anymore.
“Starlight if I don’t make it out of this I just gotta say I-“ Spike tried to confess but he was fully encased in stone before he could finish.
Starlight began tearing up, she just lost her friend, and now she’ll never see him again, but maybe there was still hope.
“Spike? Spike?!” Starlight hopelessly pleaded. No reply came, and that just made her begin crying, but then she saw Spike’s statue glowing and she was shocked at what she saw.
Author's Note
Cliffhanger, Sorry guys, I felt this was a good place to stop, we’ll see what happened to Spike next chapter(unless you saw “Molt Down” in which case you probably already know) also as if I was gonna let Spike confess that soon, he will eventually confess so don’t worry but I can’t do it too soon. Hopefully you enjoyed this chapter. Next chapter will probably be released later today or tomorrow.
Spike stopped glowing and realized he was still alive, and he was overjoyed and ran up to Starlight and embraced her, and Starlight returned the hug.
“Starlight I’m alive. I made it. I don’t know how, but right now I don’t care I’m just happy I’m alive.” Spike celebrated.
Starlight hugged the dragon back and then looked at his back, “Spike are those wings?” Starlight asked dumbfounded.
Spike then looked at himself and was shocked at what he saw. “I just sprouted wings?” Spike asked shocked but then was overjoyed and screamed “I just sprouted wings!” His celebration was cut short by the bird that was known as the Roc screeching while Twilight was blasting them, the Roc’s claw that was holding Rarity and Zecora opened up, but thankfully Rarity and Zecora were able to grab on to one of the claws before they fell.
“(Gasp) I gotta help them.” Spike proclaimed. He started using his new wings but he started flying in circles before he was able to keep balance and then flew off.
Starlight levitated herself with her magic and sighed “I should probably make sure he does not get eaten alive.” Starlight said to herself. Starlight then used her magic to fly with Spike.
Starlight and Spike then caught up to Twilight. Twilight was shocked that Spike had new wings.
“Spike, did you just sprout wings? How did you do that?” Twilight asked.
“I don’t know, but they are pretty cool.” Spike proudly exclaimed but then he lost control and he started spinning around backwards, concerning both Twilight and Starlight before he caught up with the two of them. The Roc then used his claw to catch Spike and the two mares, but all 3 of them dodged the attack. While the Roc flew away, Twilight, Starlight, and Spike strategized on what they should do.
“Spike, do you think you can distract the bird while Starlight and I save Rarity and Zecora?” Twilight asked.
“Wait Twilight, can’t you or me just distract the Roc? Spike just got these wings and no offense but he’s a bit unstable.” Starlight objected.
“I know but the Roc is more attracted to him than us, it’s probably easier if he does it, and unfortunately the safest option we have, I don’t want him to do this as much as you do Starlight.” Twilight argued.
And a little more scared for him than I am, if that’s even possible. I get why she is, but it seems she cares a bit more about him than just a friend, Wait a minute does she? Twilight thought.
“But-“ Starlight tried to say, before she felt a claw on her shoulder.
“I’ll be fine Starlight, trust me.” Spike softly spoke.
Starlight was not sure about this but when she saw his eyes they were full of reassurance, that gave her some hope he would be okay.
“Okay I trust you.” Starlight said.
Yeah she probably does have a crush on him, but I might just be jumping to conclusions.
Spike then flew up to the Roc’s face.
“Hey feather brain if you like dragon so much, come and get me.” Spike taunted.
The Roc tried to eat the dragon but Spike kept flying in circles at a fast paced, but this time he’s in total control of his wings.
The Roc began getting dizzy, and Spike flew on his back side.
“Greetings.” Spike mockingly said.
The Roc tried to eat him again, but Spike flew away just in time. Spike pumped his chest and then let out a massive burp that shot a bunch of fire, which blinded the Roc making him drop Rarity and Zecora but before the two fell, Twilight used her magic to save Rarity while Starlight used her magic to save Zecora, and all five flew to the ground(with Starlight and Twilight carrying Zecora and Rarity respectively).
When all five reached the ground Zecora walked up to Spike and said “I know the molt produced many things, but I am glad the last was a new pair of wings.”
“Yes and also I’m glad you have wings.” Rarity praised.
“Uh, Zecora just said that Rarity.” Starlight told Rarity in a confused voice.
“What?” Rarity asked.
“This is so amazing, I didn’t know if you’d ever get wings, I’m so happy for you. Does this have something to do with this molt thing you were talking about?” Twilight exclaimed.
Spike sighed sadly when he heard that. “It’s what’s been going on with me, the stone scales, the fire burps, I’m growing up, I wish I could stop it, but I can’t, should I go?” Spike said.
“Go, what do you mean?” Twilight asked in a shocked voice.
“In the Dragon Lands, Dragon families make Molters leave home it’s called the Molt Effect.” Spike explained.
“Well this is not the Dragon Lands, and Molt effect or not, I don’t want you going anywhere. You’re still our friend.”
“But I’m growing up, what if something worse happens?” Spike asked in a scared tone.
“You’re supposed to grow up, but you’ll always be you, and whatever happens we’ll get through it together.” Twilight said.
Twilight and Spike hugged each other which made Starlight, Zecora, and Rarity smile.
Spike celebrated the fact that he could stay by flapping his wings in the air and cheering and soon they went back home to the castle.
When they made it back to the castle Spike decided to talk to Starlight in the castle library.
“So guess you were right. Twilight never planned on having me leave.” Spike told Starlight with glee.
“Did you ever doubt me?” Starlight asked in mock hurt.
“Nope.” Spike said.
Starlight giggled and then remembered something she wanted to say.
“Hey Spike, when you were turning into stone, you were trying to tell me something. What was it?” Starlight asked.
Spike began getting nervous now that he was free from the stone his fears of losing Starlight as a friend again came back again, he only felt like confessing his feelings for her because it was in the heat of the moment but now that he was alive and free he had to find a way to salvage this.
“I was going to say that I was going to miss you and the rest of our friends. I really don’t want to lose any of you, even Discord or Trixie.” Spike half-lies.
“Oh okay. That’s a fair point.” Starlight says. The room began to get quiet.
“So I gotta go test out my new wings, I’ll see you later Starlight.” Spike said. Then Spike left the library.
Starlight was a bit disappointed but a bit relieved since she wasn’t sure she was ready to date him, despite loving him. Yes she was no longer lying to herself she loved the dragon, it took almost losing him to realize that her feelings were not just a silly crush but they were genuine. She unfortunately thought that they could never be together. She sighed to herself.
Twilight walked up to Starlight and noticed she was a bit upset.
“You okay Starlight? You haven’t been acting like yourself.” Twilight said in concern.
“Twilight if I tell you this, can you promise you won’t tell anybody especially Spike?” Starlight asked. Starlight figured she had to tell some pony about this, so she might as well tell one of the ponies she’s closest to, other than Spike and Trixie of course.
“Of course.” Twilight promised.
“I have a secret crush on Spike.” Starlight blurted out.
“I knew it.” Twilight happily exclaimed.

Yeah I told you I’d do this today or tomorrow and I delivered. So now Twilight knows, I figured Starlight would be able to trust Twilight with this information. Hopefully I wrote the characters well. Hope you enjoyed this chapter.
Starlight was getting ready for the Friendship Retreat, honestly it was her first time camping so she wasn’t that excited, but she figured it would be nice to spend time with Twilight and the others, Spike was offered to go, but he ended up saying no due to his “Secret Guy’s Night” happening tonight. Everypony knew about it so it was not much of a secret. She was a bit sad because she would not get to see him, but a bit relieved because she needed to stay away from him for a bit to consider her feelings.
“You know you can stay here if you want, Starlight I doubt things are going to be too awkward between you and Spike, he has his “Secret Guys Night” later for their game of Ogres and Oobliuetes so you two aren’t going to be completely alone all day.” Twilight reminded Starlight.
“Yeah I know, but I just figured I might as well try this with you guys.” Starlight said.
“Uh huh.” Twilight replies in a sarcastic tone. “I think you’re just trying to avoid him as much as possible, but if you really want to come with us, I won’t stop you.” Twilight said reluctantly.
“It’s not what I’m trying to do, I do genuinely want to hang out with you guys, but thank you anyway.” Starlight responded, she wasn’t lying she did wanna hang out with Twilight and the others, getting away from Spike to clear her head for a bit was just a bonus.
“You’re welcome.” Twilight said.
A few hours later it was night time and at this point the girls were all gone and Guys Night has just begun. Only Discord would be showing up since Big Mac has some plans with Sugar Belle, which he figured was very understandable because he knew how much Big Mac and Sugar Belle cared about each other, and since Sugar Belle just moved to Ponyville it makes sense they’d wanna spend as much time together as possible, when he thought about it he realized Big Mac was so lucky to have some pony there for him, He sighed feeling more downtrodden than usual knowing he and Starlight will probably never be together, he then jumped in surprise when saw a white flash of light, it was clear Discord teleported here.
“Surprise, I’m here.” Discord excitingly told Spike.
“Oh hey Discord, how have you been lately?” Spike asked awkwardly.
“I’ve been well, care to begin the game? Big Mac isn’t coming tonight since he’s busy with Sugar Belle for some romantic nonsense.” Discord jokingly said.
“I thought you believed in love now.” Spike said.
“Oh I do, but I must say your attempts to make me believe in it were hilarious. Shall I remind you of one of them?” Discord spoke with a scheming look on his face as he proofed in a memory orb showing Spike a flashback.
Flashback:
”Okay Spike if you’re so sure about love why don’t you tell me who you’re so in love with.” Discord said as they were walking in Ponyville.
Discord was well aware that Spike was over Rarity now so this was going to be challenging for him to answer, oh that dragon was so going to mow his lawn later, perhaps with sicssiors instead because now that he thought about it using tweezers was a bit too cruel. Eh might as well let the dragon try his hardest to win.
“Well that’s easy I love Star-Rarity.” Spike nervously replied.
Discord was a bit confused “What did you say?”
Spike was sweating he didn’t want Discord finding out he’d expose Spike for sure, but then he saw Sugar Belle.
“Oh no it’s Sugar Belle, hide.” Spike whispered before pulling Discord into the bushes with him.
Spike was nervous and began to sweat, but he figured Discord probably didn’t know about his crush on Starlight.
“Why did you show me this Discord? I remember this already.” Spike nervously stated.
“Spike I’m not an idiot, I’ve noticed you were acting very strange, you said you were over Rarity and I know you are, and you did happen to say Star before you switched to Rarity, you seemed pretty nervous when doing so. What’s going on with you? Are you in love or something?” Discord interrogated.
Spike didn’t know what to do Discord’s terrifying stare and his current fears were all too much for him to hold in so he could not keep the secret anymore he had to tell Discord regardless of what he would say.
“Okay, I secretly am in love with Starlight and I’m trying to keep it a secret because I’m afraid of rejection and losing her as a friend, and I didn’t tell you because I know you sometimes can’t keep a secret, and I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you.” Spike blurted out before breaking out sobbing.
Discord was shocked at what he heard, while he did expect Spike to be in love with Starlight, he didn’t expect him to be in this state of stress, he just thought it’d be like his feelings for Rarity. Spike must really love Starlight.
Discord shook Spike’s shoulder and looked at him.
“Spike I’m not mad at you, and I won’t tell Starlight about your hidden feelings, you’re my friend, heck my second closest friend next to Fluttershy, I may sometimes pull some schemes but I would never purposely put you or Starlight in a constant state of misery just for my own amusement, besides that would be way too depressing to see.” Discord replied.
Spike wiped the tears from his eyes, and smiled at Discord.
“Thanks Discord.” Spike said.
“Sure thing, now can we play a game of Ogres and Oobliutes to brighten the mood a bit?” Discord suggests.
“Sure, I’d like that.” Spike answers.
Discord teleports himself and Spike into the game.
Meanwhile back at the campgrounds where Starlight and the Mane 6 were, Starlight was shifting in her sleep.
We cut to the dream world where Starlight found herself in a cave full of cutie marks.
“What the? Oh no I’m in a nightmare again aren’t I?” Starlight fearfully asked, she was very familiar with this type of dream. Why couldn’t she have a good dream tonight she was so relaxed. Wait a minute Cutie marks she definitely was not in Tarturus this time. Wait was she in-
“Indeed you are, Welcome Starlight Glimmer.” a mysterious voice in the shadows replied.
“Who are you?” Starlight fearfully asked.
“Why Starlight I thought you’d remember me, after all we’re very close.” the mysterious voice said and revealed herself to be Evil Starlight in her old mane style wearing her fake equality cutie mark.
“No, no, no, no.” Good Starlight panicked

I think this is a good place to stop, so another cliffhanger, sorry about that, I’ll probably have the next chapter out tomorrow morning on Tuesday, but I won’t make my promises. Also I will give the evil Starlight a name to prevent confusion next chapter.
Starlight´s Fears and Doubts
¨Y´know I should probably give myself a name, Evil Starlight sounds so lazy, I think I´ll name myself Moonlight. Yes that´s a good one, I´ll stick with that.¨ Evil Starlight who is now renamed Moonlight said in a condescending voice.
The real Starlight was overwhelmed with terror, and was sweating nervously while trembling in her hooves, but she decided to speak.
¨What´s going on? Why are you here?¨ The real Starlight demanded in a shaky tone.
¨Oh please, do you honestly think you could escape your fears and past by getting away from that runt you so desprately desire?¨ Moonlight mockingly asked.
¨Spike is not some runt, he´s a living being with thoughts and feelings.¨ Starlight angrily retorted.
Moonlight walked up closely to Starlight and laughed at her in malice.
¨Oh please what do you know about feelings, last I checked you did not seem to care about how the other ponies felt back when you were leading that village of yours.¨ Moonlight argued with a smirk.
¨Hey, I gave them a choice they gave up their cutie marks willingly, besides I realized what I did was wrong and even apologized for it.¨ Starlight spoke with a glare.
¨Yeah you were so considerate when you took Twilight and her friends´ cutie marks by force, and forced them to be put in a Reformation Room also I seem to remember you brainwashing those 5 ponies to do your bidding over some pathetic friendship lesson, oh how pathetic you have become Starlight.¨ Moonlight spoke with sarcasm.
Starlight tried to argue with that but found out she couldn´t come up with anything to say, while the spell she put on the Mane 5 was not meant to be permenant she still knew Moonlight had a point, which Moonlight noticed and smirked with glee.
¨Face it Glimmer, no matter how hard you try you will never be anything more than a controlling, power-hungry, man-hungry monster, face it you´re just like me.¨ Moonlight heartlessly replied.
¨No, No, No, I will never be like you, Never!¨ Starlight cried.
¨Deep inside you know it´s true, you don´t love Spike, you´re only physically attracted to him, and besides he´d never love somepony like you. Nopony will ever love you for your pathetic personality, you are nothing but a monster.¨ Moonlight maliciously stated.
¨Enough!¨ A royal voice shouted.
A blast came from above and made Moonlight teleport out of the cave, that blast was revealed to come from Princess Luna.
¨Luna, what are you doing here?¨ Starlight asked.
¨You´re dream had a lot of negative energy, it´s clear this nightmare was very serious. I may have fought it off but it will keep coming back if you don´t face it yourself. It´s clear you have a lot of fear going on in your head Starlight.¨ Luna answered.
¨Oh Luna, I´m just terrified, not just for me, but also for Spike, not only am I scared I´ll lose him as a friend, I feel like I´ll just treat him like a servant, I mean look at me, I casted spells on my friends to make them do my bidding for a friendship lesson, and I switched yours and Celestia´s cutie marks against your will, that makes me scared because I feel like I´ll do something similar to him, he does not deserve to go through that, I feel like I don´t deserve him.¨ Starlight confessed while crying.
¨Yes I am aware you have made countless mistakes before Starlight, but you do learn from them every time, plus despite my royal status I am not perfect either, I turned into Nightmare Moon and took my anger out on innocent ponies who did not deserve it. I also made the mistake of creating the Tantabus out of my guilt, despite knowing the risks I did it anyway. I realized my past does not define me, Starlight if you truly love Spike, you do not need to worry about harming him. Even if he does not return your feelings he would never stop being your friend, I sense Moonlight is returning, just remember what I told you.¨ Luna softly spoke before leaving.
After Luna left, Starlight was starting to realize Luna was probably right, she did love Spike, and she was only having these fears because she loved him so much that she did not want him to get hurt because of her and she felt that she just wasn´t ready to give love a chance, well she´s done being afraid.
Moonlight reappeared in anger, and Starlight was more confident in herself that she could face her fears.
¨Ugh, when will you ever learn that you are nothing more than a monster?¨ Moonlight asked with rage.
¨I am not a monster, I see that now, I do truly love Spike, and I realize that these fears are just me being scared that I´m not ready for love, well I am ready to give love a chance, I just know it.¨ Starlight spoke with confidence.
Starlight felt like she was glowing and Moonlight for once was the one afraid.
¨No you idiot, you don´t have a chance with him, he will never return your feelings, he will reject you, and stop being your friend.¨ Moonlight screamed in anger.
¨I don´t care if he doesn´t return my feelings, I won´t force him to love me as long as he´s happy I´m happy, also I know Spike will still be my friend even if he doesn´t love me back, he values his friendships with every pony, he would not just ditch me for something like that, I see that now. Good bye Moonlight.¨ Starlight proudly replied.
Moonlight began fading away, and she made one last desperate attempt to beat Starlight.
¨No, you can´t do this, you can never escape me Starlight, I am a part of you.¨ Moonlight cried in desperation.
¨Yep a part of me that I don´t live by anymore, I am not you and all you are is just a figment of my imagination made by my fears and doubts, well I´m not afraid anymore.¨ Starlight bravely replied.
Starlight blasted Moonlight and just like that Moonlight was gone.
(In the real world)
Starlight woke up overjoyed, the others were still sleeping but she was so proud of herself. She did it, she was finally free from her past.

I clearly went all out on this chapter, yeah I´m changing the rating to T since this does have some very dark stuff going on in Starlight´s head, and plus the Drama and occasional inappropriate words make my rating change feel justified, also I wanted Starlight to realize that she truly loves Spike and is ready to give love a chance. Also you have no idea how satisfying it was to defend Starlight, this was way overdue, I´ve seen a lot of stories that portray her like someone who is just some delusional stalker or completely horny who would just take the opprotunity to mind control someone to have sex with her whenever I try to find a romance story around her, now I have nothing against you if you did write these stories, I respect you as a person either way, but it´s just so OOC for Starlight, yeah she may have used a mind control spell like that once, but she learned her lesson and I feel it was meant to be temporary anyway, plus she´s relatively sane, even when she got jealous about Sunburst spending more time with her friends than her, she didn´t sabotage Sunburst´s friendships with them, plus she seemed to accept that Sunburst didn´t wanna be friends anymore, now those stories are probably meant to be seen as a joke, or it´s just for story purposes, but knowing how this fan base is I have a feeling they think Starlight would do stuff like that, I´m sorry if I offended any Starlight haters. I mean I respect your opinion if you dislike Starlight, but she does not have these character traits in my opinion, I´m sorry if I´m being a jerk, but I felt it needed to be said. I respect your opinion if you disagree with me. Now mind you that is not the only reason I wrote this story, I wrote this story because I love Spike x Starlight and I felt it would be fun to write, and I wanted to show how Starlight would handle her feelings if she ever had romantic feelings for any of the characters in my opinion, I feel like she would be afraid of losing Spike as a friend, and I also think she´d doubt herself and feel like she didn´t deserve him. Also this chapter was always meant for Starlight to face her fears, and confront them head on. I sincerely hope you enjoyed this so far.
Starlight sat in her office much more content than usual. The reason for that is because she has been feeling much better since that dream she had, it was so satisfying to get that off her chest. Now that she is over her fears, when the time is right she will confess her feelings to Spike.
The door to her office opened revealing Twilight and Spike, must be important considering both of them showed up.
“Hey Twilight, did you need something?” Starlight asked.
“Well, yeah Celestia called me over to Canterlot, and here’s the thing I kinda need you to be Headmare for the day.” Twilight explained nervously.
“You want ME to be headmare?” Starlight asked.
“You’re the perfect choice, after all you are pretty responsible.” Twilight explained.
Spike laughed a bit into his claw making Starlight glare at him a bit.
“Sorry. That wasn’t funny, I’ll shut up now.” Spike said.
Come on, stop being a jerk, while that claim was a bit funny I shouldn’t laugh at her for it. Why am I acting like this? Maybe I don’t deserve her. Spike mentally chastised.
“Anyway I trust you to run this school exactly how I would have.” Twilight said.
“Well if you’re sure...I promise I won’t let you down.” Starlight said.
“I hoped you would say that, here are the assignments, the ciriculum, the rules for the spellvenger hunt, and the lunch menu for the next month.” Twilight said as she placed all those papers on Starlight’s desk.
Spike’s eyes widened, he’d probably be too nervous around Starlight to be alone with her for more than a week
“Wait next month, you won’t be gone that long, right?” Spike asked.
Starlight’s eyes drooped a bit. He probably doesn’t wanna be around me too long. I already made things awkward between us. Figures I shouldn’t be keeping my hopes up for anything romantic to happen.
Spike noticed this look, and once again felt stupid
Stop acting like a jerk already, gah now she probably thinks I don’t consider her friend, I’m a horrible friend I better fix this. Spike thought sadly.
“Well I mean surely this isn’t too serious, right Twilight? I don’t want you getting hurt.” Spike half-lied while looking at Starlight.
Twilight gave Spike and Starlight a sly look, does Spike think she’s dumb, while he may have told the truth a bit, he should know this isn’t life-threatening. She knew what Spike was really worried about. Ah well she’ll just play along with this because she can’t rush romance.
Twilight levitated Spike to Starlight’s lap and added “And Spike, anything you’re confused with, he will be able to help you with.”
Starlight and Spike blushed at being so close to each other and looked at each other, before Spike flew off of Starlight.
“Okay, so why not put him in charge?” Starlight asked.
“No, I can’t do that, being a princess for Twilight was a bit too hard for me.” Spike explained.
“I am going to pretend that made sense but I guess I understand so I’ll do it.” Starlight confirmed.
“Great, I’ll go get ready for Canterlot.” Twilight told the two before she left.
Starlight and Spike we’re left alone
“So we’re working together huh Spike.” Starlight told Spike.
“Yeah I guess we are, listen Starlight, I didn’t mean anything against you when I was asking how long Twilight would be gone. I was just concerned for Twilight, whenever she goes to Canterlot to meet Celestia, it’s usually for something serious.” Spike half-lied.
“It’s okay Spike I have been acting awkward around each other for a while, but don’t worry that ends now.” Starlight said.
Starlight was not lying to Spike when she said that, she was done being afraid of her feelings for Spike, she was going to confess to him, but once things begin to go back to normal between them.
“Okay, well I’m gonna go get Twilight ready for her journey to Canterlot. See you soon.” Spike told Starlight before he left the office.
Starlight sighed happily when he left, oh she was truly in bliss, she thinks Spike might actually like her back. She was so happy but as fate may have it something or someone interrupted her.
“My, my somepony is in a bit of a happy state, nice to see you Glim Glam.” Discord said from the ceiling.
“Discord, Nice to see you too, you hardly talk to me anymore, how come you’re doing so now?” Starlight asked.
“Oh I figured it’d be more of a surprise that way, I honestly didn’t know you considered us friends, you always are with Twilight or Trixie, oh and Spike of course.” Discord said with a smirk.
Starlight’s blood instantly went cold, if Discord found out about Starlight’s special feelings for Spike, he would not hesitate to expose her.
“Now I’ve been curious lately about your exploits dear friend, and I find you here in some sort of trance like happiness, and near Spike of all creatures, how odd is there some special connection you two have?” Discord asked Starlight with a sinister smile.
Starlight figured Discord was not going to leave her alone until she answered him so she knew she had no choice but to come clean.
“Ugh fine, as long as you promise not to tell anypony, especially Spike I’ll tell you.” Starlight relented.
“My lips are sealed.” Discord promised before zipping his mouth shut.
“Okay I’m in love with Spike, and I plan on telling him that soon so please don’t ruin it for me.” Starlight confessed.
Starlight then heard muffled laughter and then she glared at Discord who was unzipping his mouth.
“Sorry Starry, but you in love, ha please.” Discord laughed.
Starlight grew annoyed at this and stomped her hoof on the floor.
“What is that supposed to mean?” Starlight asked furious.
“Oh I meant no offense, but who’s to say you aren’t just seducing Spike for your own benefit? If Rarity led him on for so many years, you can too.” Discord explained.
“First of all leave Rarity our of this, yeah she may have taken advantage of Spike a few times, but she never meant any malicious intentions, and second of all I am not that pony anymore Discord.” Starlight argued in anger.
“Oh please, like I’ll take your word for it ‘Ms. Equality’ listen here missy, Spike is my friend, and I will not allow him to be led on again.” Discord spoke in a cold and serious tone.
“That’s enough, you’re wrong about my intentions Discord.” Starlight spoke in confidence.
“Perhaps I am, but I have wasted enough of your time, Adios Twilight Clone.” Discord said before teleporting away.
“Good riddance, he’s wrong about me.” Starlight told herself.
Starlight looked at herself in the mirror and confidently smiled.
“I’ll show him that I’m genuine.” Starlight declared.
Meanwhile in the Chaos Realm, Discord looked satisfied, this was all to make sure Starlight was truly loved his friend, she may say that she loves him, but he’s seen Equestria, some ponies like to say they love each other before cheating on their lover or uses them for sex, how does he know this? Well he’s seen some ponies out in public doing less then favorable things, he even saw this while he was a statue. Spike clearly loves Starlight he knew that for sure, but he had to make sure the feeling was mutual.
“Get ready Starlight, we’re going to find out how you truly feel about my friend.” Discord told himself before teleporting to Ponyville.

Discord would do something like this, let’s be honest, you’ll find out why the Mane 6 are being sent to Canterlot instead of a Friendship Quest, later in the story.
Starlight and Spike were at the outside of the school, seeing the Mane 6 off, and while they all left Spike decided to speak.
“Good bye guys, be safe.” Spike said.
“Come back soon, please.” Starlight added with a strained smile.
The two then heard an exaggerated nose blow, and saw Discord using a Hankey.
“I hate good byes, they just make me go to pieces.” Discord over dramatically stated before disassembling himself and falling on the floor.
“Discord, nice to see you.” Starlight forced out with a fake smile still remembering their last encounter.
Discord reassembled himself and stood up smirking right between Starlight and Spike which the former knew was on purpose.
“Nice to see you too Starlight and Spike.” Discord said in fake joy, to make sure Spike did not catch onto what he was doing.
“This is your first time in our school right?” Spike asked nervously.
It was actually the second but Spike doesn’t need to know one of his best friends is being an ass, also now isn’t the best time to confess Starlight thought with anger but put on a fake smile.
“Oh, was I not invited to the grand opening? Friends and Family Day? Baccalaureate? I hadn't noticed.” Discord seethed in anger.
“Well, at least you're here now. Um, why are you here now?” Spike said trying to change the subject.
“To help you fill in for Twilight of course, since you are in charge after all.” Discord said while pointing at Spike.
“Oh sorry I’m not in charge, Starlight is.” Spike said.
“Really is there some mistake? I thought former criminals aren’t qualified to be head-mare.” Discord asked Starlight coldly.
Starlight did her best not to lose her temper at Discord.
“Nope. Twilight picked me for the job. And she left pretty detailed instructions for me to follow.” Starlight explained while holding up a scroll.
“Well, I'm sure that she wouldn't mind a few tiny suggestions.” Discord said while teleporting the scroll and a quill to himself.
Discord began to write on the scroll.
"Item one – Gravity is optional." Discord declared.
As he said this everything in the school including Spike and Starlight began floating but Starlight then used her own magic to float up to Discord and snatch his list.
“Not gonna happen. I promised Twilight I'd handle this her way. So thanks, but no thanks.” Starlight said in a bored tone.
Discord was now a bit angry with Starlight, as she grabbed Spike with her magic and put him on her back and he grabbed onto her so he didn’t float off which she seemed to like, and Discord seemed to have misinterpreted this,
Oh you are so doing that on purpose so you can can get him to feel your coat. Ugh how pathetic of you Glim Glam. Whatever it’s a bit too early to judge you now, so I will just keep going with this test. Discord angrily thought while looking at Starlight.
“Reeeeeeally? Well, we'll see if you change your mind.” Discord seethed before teleporting away.
Once Discord left gravity then struck and everything in the area fell back down.
Spike then regained control of his wings and got off of Starlight who was levitating herself to the floor.
“Uh Starlight quick warning. When we play Ogres & Oubliettes and Discord puts that many E's in "really", the things don't usually end well.” Spike warned Starlight.
“Ugh, figures, let’s just get things ready for the school day. Also if he does show up, I will make sure he leaves.” Starlight reassures Spike.
“Starlight, do you have any idea why Discord was in a bad mood, he seemed angrier than usual.” Spike asked in concern.
Starlight knew exactly why Discord was mad at her, but she figured she shouldn’t confess yet, it’s a busy day, and it’d just distract Spike and get him more stressed out.
“No I have no clue, I honestly don’t know how he works.” Starlight lied.
“Okay, well let’s head inside and see what we need to do to get ready” Spike suggests.
“Okay sure.” Starlight agreed.
Once the two were inside they walked through the hallway as Spike then went through the list Twilight gave them, and listed most of the stuff off.
“Okay. I hid the artifacts for the Spell-venger Hunt and ordered school supplies for the week. All you have to worry about is finding substitutes.” Spike told Starlight.
“Oh thanks Spike, that’s a relief maybe we will get through this okay.” Starlight spoke with relief.
“No problem, happy to help.” Spike said.
Starlight blushed a little at Spike once he said that.
When the two walked in Twilight’s office they found the room filled with a bunch of things Discord put in, and Discord himself was sitting on Twilight’s desk which was floating.
“Oh do come in, besides you’ll let the Twitter Mites out.” Discord greeted.
“Wait Twittermites?” Spike asked before he ended up getting zapped by some of them making him fall in the water.
“Discord! What are you doing?!” Starlight asked in anger.
“Nopony was at your desk, imagine what Twilight would say.” Discord said.
Discord then put on a Twilight wig and said “Oh how could you Starlight, you spent most of your time flirting with Spike, and broken my trust ergo failing me completely.”
Starlight was losing her patience with Discord but thankfully Spike got out of the water while also getting it out of his ear, so it’s clear he didn’t hear Discord which she wanted.
Discord then took off the wig and said “Oh don’t worry I’ve covered for you already, by the way you had a list of substitutes for the day, so I decided to help you out with that, I was able to get Maud, Spitfire, and Trixie here, oh and I promised Trixie that you would be here to prove it’s not a trick, so you’re welcome.”
“Actually that was pretty helpful and it was next on our to-do list.” Spike said gratefully which Discord smiled at.
“Don’t push your luck Discord, I’m not sure if you actually were telling the truth, I will check on the classes to see if you are telling the truth.” Starlight lectured.
“Oh but are you sure you rather wouldn’t do something else?” Discord asked suggestively while looking at Spike which made said dragon confused.
Starlight knew full well what he meant when he asked that but she would not stoop to that level.
“No I would not, my top priority is taking care of school.” Starlight concludes.
Discord smiles at this, that was exactly the answer he wanted.
“Now Discord why don’t you relax and have a cup of tea, at home.” Starlight said while shoving Discord out the door.
“So Spike, you check up on Maud, and I’ll go check on Trixie.” Starlight said.
Spike gave Starlight a thumbs up, and they split up. Discord watching over them with a smirk, Starlight seems to love him, but the final part will confirm whether Starlight truly loves Spike.

Matter Of Anger and Tears
Starlight headed to Twilight’s classroom, she wasn’t sure if Discord was telling the truth or not, but she needs to make sure he was. When she walked into Trixie’s class, a bunch of students ran out of there, Starlight began to feel angry, she should’ve figured Discord lied to her.
“Discord, I have had it with- oh sorry Trixie.” Starlight exclaimed.
“It’s fine, I’m guessing he’s annoying you too.” Trixie guessed.
“Ugh you don’t know the full story, he’s been constantly trying to get under my skin ever since he heard about my crush on Spike.” Starlight accidentally revealed. After Starlight realized what she just said, she covered her mouth with a blush
“The Great and Powerful Trixie heard what now?” Trixie replied with a smirk.
“I have a crush on Spike, go ahead laugh at me for it.” Starlight answered with an annoyed expression.
“Starlight, I’m not judging you for it, in fact I actually knew about it.” Trixie replies.
“What? How?” Starlight asked in shock.
“Let’s see, how about the way you blush whenever you look at him, how nervous you‘ve been acting around him, or how you sometimes look at his a-“ Trixie responds with a smirk.
“I get the point Trixie.” Starlight yelled with a blush.
“The point is that I support your feelings for Spike, and don’t worry about anypony judging you, between you and me, I think Yona and Sandbar have a thing for each other.” Trixie said.
“Hehe thanks Trixie.” Starlight said in a touched voice.
Spike then flew in the classroom with a panicked look on his face.
“Starlight we have a situation.” Spike said in a scared tone.
Back at the hallway, Discord was causing all sorts of chaos, pictures were floating everywhere, statues came to life and were chasing the students and so much more. He figured this was the best way to get Starlight over here, after all he needed to make sure if she truly loved Spike, and what a better way to do so, then to lure her over here, and given that she just teleported over here, made him aware that he accomplished phase one of his plan, time for phase two.
“Discord, that’s enough, scaring students is crossing the line, I don’t know what your issue with me is, but you need to stop now.” Starlight lectured.
Discord snaps his talons turning the school back to normal, and smirked at the unicorn, she seems to be alone, perfect he can now begin taunting her. He felt bad for what he was about to say to her but he felt like he had to.
“You’re right Starlight, I’m wasting my time, why should I even be messing with you, after all you’re just some incompetent, power-hungry unicorn who doesn’t truly love Spike at all, I shouldn’t be wasting my time here, ta ta.” Discord said before teleporting away from the school.
Starlight’s eyes began to water, that remark hurt her, but she wiped her eyes and got every creature back to their classes.
She then went back to the headmare’s office where Trixie was waiting for her.
“So how’d it go?” Trixie asked in curiosity.
“He left but he said some very hurtful stuff Trixie.” Starlight said with her voice breaking.
“Ugh that jerk, what did he say?” Trixie asked in anger.
“He said I was an incompetent, power-hungry unicorn, and that I didn’t love Spike.” Starlight said in tears.
“Starlight, I’m so sorry he said that.” Trixie said in a soft tone.
From outside the window of the office, Discord looked inside the office and he heard everything. Starlight was truly hurt by his words, he went too far, it’s clear she loves Spike now but he needs to make things right.
The rest of the school day went by smoothly, after Starlight calmed down, she and Spike hosted the spell-venger hunt, which Smolder and Ocellus ended up winning, and everything went by just fine. Now Starlight and Spije we’re heading back to the castle but Spike noticed Starlight was a bit upset, he heard about what Discord said to Starlight from Trixie, except for the part about Starlight not loving Spike, which Trixie intentionally left out. He was mad at Discord for saying that, but Spike would talk to him about it later, for now he should probably make sure his crush is feeling okay.
“Hey Starlight, whatever Discord said to you isn’t true, he’s just being Discord.” Spike reassured Starlight.
“Yeah well it still was hurtful, but thank you for the reassurance.” Starlight said in a soft tone.
“No problem.” Spike responded with a smile. “I really care about you Starlight.”
Starlight blushed when she heard that. “So do I Spike, so do I.”
More than you know. Starlight and Spike both secretly thought.
When Starlight went inside her room, she suddenly teleported to some strange room
“Uh, hi Starlight.” Discord said awkwardly.
Starlight rolled her eyes, she had enough of this clown.
“Before you blast me with your horn, I just wanna say I’m sorry.” Discord said.
Starlight’s eyes widened, she didn’t expect that.
“I wasn’t sure you truly loved Spike, so I decided to test you and see if you truly do love him, but it appears I went too far, I didn’t mean any of that stuff I said.” Discord explained remorsefully.
“Why didn’t you trust me, we’re friends, you could’ve just taken my word for it.” Starlight asked somewhat offended.
“I didn’t trust you because when Spike tried to gain Rarity’s affections she used him to do stuff for her, and while I know she didn’t mean any harm it still broke his heart when he realized she didn’t like him that way, I just needed to make sure he wouldn’t go through that again if he were to ever gain feelings for you, given your past and all that.” Discord explained.
Starlight began to understand why Discord acted the way he did.
“Discord, I won’t do that to him, I love Spike.” Starlight argued in a soft voice.
“I know that now. I’m sorry about what I did.” Discord stated.
“It’s okay, I forgive you.” Starlight said.
Discord smiled at Starlight, he was glad she wasn’t mad at him anymore, he still won’t tell her about Spike’s crush on her, they need to handle this stuff on their own.
“Well I should probably send you back to the castle, good luck with your love life.” Discord said before teleporting Starlight back to the castle. He’s done his part, now Starlight and Spike just need to confess to each other.

Spike was putting on his tux, and was so nervous he was about to take Starlight out on a date, of course Twilight showed up to help him get ready and was really concerned for the dragon.
“What if I screw up, what if I burn her dress, what if I’m a terrible boyfriend, aw I can’t do this I’m a failure.” Spike cried out.
“Spike pull yourself together, I refuse to let you walk out on Starlight or talk about yourself like that.” Twilight said angrily.
“But Twi we’re so different, I’m a geek, she’s cooler than me it’ll never work.” Spike cried out.
“You never had these problems with Rarity.” Twilight pointed out flying up to Spike.
“Twi, I was a hormonal teenager back then I defied all logic, but now ohhhhhhh I know I’ll screw up.” Spike said frantically before breathing into a paper bag.
Twilight rubbed Spike’s back comfortingly, “Spike it’s okay, Starlight loves you for you and she doesn’t care what you are she just loves you.”
“You’re right Twilight I musta gone crazy. Thank you.” Spike said gratefully embracing Twilight.
“Any time Spike. Now let’s go wait for Starlight.” Twilight said encouragingly.
Starlight began combing her mane with Trixie by her side, she was nervous. What if she wasn’t perfect enough for Spike? Maybe she wasn’t as good as Rarity.
“Trixie how do I look?” Starlight asked in a nervous tone.
“Perfect, we just need to put you in a dress and you’ll be golden, hehe.” Trixie squealed happily.
“I’m nervous Trixie, what if I’m not good enough for him? What if this is just lust and not love? What if I’m not pretty enough for him?” Starlight cried out in tears.
“Well I don’t know much about that little ruffian but I do know he loves you for who you are, and if he doesn’t love you and it is just lust well his loss not yours.” Trixie advises comfortingly.
“Hehe thanks Trixie, even I sometimes need a reminder of how stupid I act.” Starlight said happily wiping her tears.
“Sometimes?” Trixie asked smirking.
“Watch it.” Starlight glared.

First Date jitters happens to a lot of people, I hope I wrote the two well.
Cozy Glow was inside her secret chambers which was a cave, things were going great, she just found out a secret about Guidance Counselor Starlight, she was in love with that dragon Spike, oh this was too good, her new mom’s gonna wanna hear this.
“Oh Chrissy, I have some news for you.” Cozy Glow shouted.
“Ah it’s about time my favorite little filly got me something, what information do you have for me my wonderful daughter?” Chrysalis asked coming out of the room.
“I heard Starlight Glimmer has a crush on that dragon Spike, I know you hate Starlight but I figured this would be useful to you.” Cozy Glow revealed.
“Does she now, Well this just perfect you’re right Cozy Glow this is useful information because not only will I get my revenge on Starlight Glimmer, I will also break her emotionally and mentally.” Chrysalis said maniacally.
“Isn’t that a bit extreme mom?” Cozy Glow asked.
“It is not, what have I taught you Cozy Glow?” Chrysalis responded in a condescending tone.
“That Starlight is a cruel and evil creature who must suffer for her actions against you.” Cozy Glow answered.
“There we go, I hate to make a creature suffer but Starlight and many others have wronged us for far too long it’s payback time and all I need is that little dragon Spike.” Chrysalis monologues.
“Of course mother, how was your day in Canterlot?” Cozy Glow asked.
“Oh it was wonderful, I gained so much love to power myself up.” Chrysalis said.
Little did Cozy Glow know that by draining the ponies of their love would drain them physically she almost felt sorry for the filly if she weren’t so useful to her plans, what a pity that poor little Cozy Glow was so naive and innocent.
Author's Note
This was a bit shorter than usual, I know I promised I would do a chapter of Goodbye Twilight and I will but for now here is a chapter of this story, as you see I’m doing something different with Cozy Glow, and I made her an innocent filly who was raised wrong and is having trouble with choosing between right and wrong.
Spike was ready, today was the day he would confess his feelings for Starlight, he figured that since the two are such close friends Starlight would still consider him a friend even if she did not feel the same way. Besides he's been thining about this ever since Sludge left.
Spike walked up to Starlight's room and knocked on the door. Starlight answered the door and was happy to see Spike.
"Oh hey Spike is there something you want?" Starlight asked.
"Yeah, Starlight I have to tell you something but I never had the courage so this may seem sudden but I think you should know, Starlight I love you, I’ve loved you ever since you comforted me and stood up for me against those ponies, I never told you because I was afraid of ruining our friendship but now I realize that no matter what we'd always be friends no matter what happened, so I decided to tell you this, and if there is any chance you feel the same way than I would love to date you." Spike confessed.
Starlight then grabbed Spike and pulled him into a hug "You don't know how long I've wanted to hear you say that." Starlight spoke while crying tears of joy.
The two continued to embrace each other while Twilight happily watched from the hallway.
"Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes. Finally." Twilight said to them.
"You knew?" Spike asked.
"You both were so obvious, of course I knew. This is awesome. Both of my best friends are dating, this is beautiful." Twilight said while embracing both of them.
Cozy Glow and Chrysalis watched from the window.
"Aw how sweet." Cozy Glow cooed.
"Oh please, it's gross but I have fed off of some of their love and now I am fully powered, ha ha watch out Starlight I'm coming for you and you're little boyfriend too." Chrysalis warned.
Cozy Glow watched Chrysalis monologue, she was starting to question if this is right.
Author's Note
They finally confessed but it looks like Chrysalis is beginning her plan, and Cozy Glow is starting to realize how wrong this really is.
Spike was waiting at the bottom of the stairs fiddling with his claws he was so nervous.
Twilight sighed in bliss knowing his nervousness would fade away very soon.
Trixie then showed up on top of the stairs, and began making a big announcement “Presenting the second greatest, most powerfulest, and beautiful mare in the universe Starlight Glimmer.”
Starlight then showed up wearing a yellow dress with blue stripes and she had blue slippers on.
Spike immediately began feeling hot as he began blushing so hard he saw her and he knew she was
“Beautiful.” Spike whispered swooning staring at Starlight with awe which Twilight saw and smirked at.
“Hey Spike, ready for go?” Starlight asked nervously.
Spike broke out of his trance and stuttered “Uh yeah I’m ready.”
Starlight and Spike walked out of the door with Twilight and Trixie waving them off.
Meanwhile Cozy Glow peered through the bushes with binoculars as Chrysalis assigned her to spy on them.
“Sigh they look so happy.” Cozy Glow commented sadly knowing what was gonna happen if Chrysalis got her way.
Meanwhile with Spike and Starlight they were at a table in one of the best restaurants in Ponyville.
“Hey Starlight just wanted to say you look really pretty tonight.” Spike started while blushing.
“You look handsome too Spike, also I know you’re nervous but don’t worry I’m not leaving you.” Starlight said in a comforting tone.
“I’m sorry Starlight but you’re the best thing to ever happen to me, and I guess I was just scared of losing you.” Spike apologized confessing to why he was so nervous.
“Spike you’re not losing me. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me ever since my redemption.” Starlight confessed touched at the dragon’s revelation.
After dinner the two went back to the castle and they were happier than ever as Spike was holding Starlight’s hoof.
The two then went back inside and Starlight began to tap Spike on the back.
“Yeah Starlight?” Spike asked softly looking at Starlight.
“Hey Spike do you wanna kiss?” Starlight asked nervously.
“A kiss?” Spike asked surprised at Starlight’s suggestion.
“Sigh I’m sorry Spike, I thought we knew each other long enough and we we’re close enough, it’s okay we don’t have to-“ Starlight began before Spike began kissing Starlight who was surprised at first but then returned the kiss happily.
The two then made out, they were in pure bliss, so much that they didn’t notice Cozy Glow spying on them.
Back in Chrysalis’ lair Cozy Glow told her everything.
“They had such a touching moment and they kissed you say?” Chrysalis laughed.
“Yes.” Cozy Glow replied nervously.
“This is gold, this will only make my plan more heartbreaking, mwahahahahahahahahahahaha.” Chrysalis maniacally laughed.
