A Friendly Time

Prologue/Teaser

Danny just got off the Phone, and released a sigh. He was feeling emotionally drained at the news he had to deliver to his daughter. He got up from his bed, with a groan, his muscles still aching from work, and he went downstairs.

There was his daughter, watching the television. She turn to look at him, curiosity filled her eyes, and a sparkle of hidden depth was there as well. Something she shared with his wife.

Danny: Taylor, we have to go out. Your mom's been in accident.

The curiosity that filled her eyes was replaced by horror. Seconds tick by and soon the horror drained out. Then tiredness , similar to what he was feeling was settled in.

Taylor: She fighting with the Paramedics again, isn't she.

Danny's lips curled into a tired smile.

Danny: Eeyup.

Taylor groaned in frustration.

Taylor: I wanted to watch the special about Mom tonight.

Danny: Come on, they'll play that tomorrow on a rerun. Turn off the TV before we go.

Taylor went to the remote.

TV: And Today we Celebrate Brockton Bay's Greatest Heroine, Mare-Do-Well, who- *click*

Taylor turned off the TV
