"Today marks fifteen days since the flood, my name is Zetsubo, and i was nominated the captain of this submarine, it was recommended to me by some of my crew to make daily reports of things we might go through these troubling times, so here i am for my first report. Today was somewhat slow, the day started with the usual battery charge, as we are lucky that the submarine is powered by solar energy all we have to do is go to the surface by the morning and stay there for a few hours. It's a routine, thing is today Shinpi, the girl that takes care of the sonar and the navigation map, said that we would be pretty close to some island, we all got excited after all, the flood covered most of the earth's surface, or so we were told by the news.
In any case we made due with a small carrot plantation, getting a little sick of eating just carrots many different ways to be honest, so a new piece of land was very exciting. It was a real rocky place full of snow and nothing else, there weren't even trees around, however it was not a complete waste of time, as one of the crew members, Aisuru, found the corpse of a goat, it looked like it froze to death which as cruel as it sounds was a good thing for us since the meat was frozen, there was a big chance that it hasn't rotten yet, if it didn't then we would have some more food for at least three days. A few hours later after Aisuru had skinned the goat, he looked at us very happy as by the smell of the meat it was indeed not rotten yet, that sure made our day. After the battery charge was complete, we came back to our exploration routine."
Many moons later
"Day fifty-five since the flood, today was a very interesting day, but first i would like to mention something that honestly i should've mentioned on earlier reports since is a big part of our routine. So this started Just a few days before the flood ruined everything, we were all by this naval bunker where a bunch of submarines were, we were exploring them looking for resources, but this one submarine was interesting, it was the only one that it was named something different, all other submarines were named "BM-109" or "MUM-B1" stuff like that But this one was named "Eclipse", it was the first thing that caught our attention, upon entering it we found something mind blowing, we found a big room, even bigger then the navigation area, right in the middle of said room there's this big bathtub looking thing with a name tag on the side "Sonar Eclipse" as well as instructions on how to use it.
Our very first thought was that i was someone's relic, but we've already searched the whole place and found no one, sure it could be a long range relic, but why would they just let it here laying around in a room at a random submarine. A Relic is a rare item said to give immense power to those who find it, said powers can manifest as just about anything so we were worried this submarine might be someone's relic. Could be dangerous to mess with it but Hisshi, one of our crewmates, suggested we try out using that tub's powers just to see what they were all about, considering how there's no TV or video games around to keep us busy, we decided why not? Surprisingly enough it was quite simple, we just have describe someone or somecreature in a piece of paper, throw it on the tub, and after a few seconds the a voice will come out of the tub telling a brief story of the person or creature you described, and at the end it would tell you what fate awaits said person or creature, quite the interesting relic. We decided to try it out with some random Clown fish, Hisshi threw the paper describing the fish and as expected an ambiguous voice came out of the tub"
"A clown fish scared of the deep seas founds the love of his life, but it didn't last long as she was brutally
Killed by a predator fish, the clown fish now lives taking care of his son, who manage to survive, his fate is to go on a adventure to find his son once he is taken away by humans" said the voice from the tub.
"Everyone laughed for a bit, and right after we started discussing on just how was his kid taken away by humans, how does he get his son back? Or if he even get his son back at all, or how could a fish even have feelings? After that day we started doing a meting by the tub daily, we would describe random people to the tub, And once they're story and fate are said, we would discuss what we thought about it, it is our main source of entertainment for the day, and it is indeed quite fun to have something to talk about with my friends"
More moons pass...
"Day sixty-five since the flood, today was... Interesting, Shinpi once again informed us we had land nearby, We tried once again to be hopeful, and try to find supplies or some people, and we kinda did, just not on a very good way, when we got to the surface we were shocked, there was this absolutely massive statue of what it looked to be a man, not quite sure as it was quite foggy, the top of the statue was just completely out of vision,
around it on the ground there was this big fenced area, definitely looked like it was a tourist attraction of some kind, with a hot dog stand and everything, and there were skeletons all over the place, there were least twenty of them, one of them caught our attention, it was the only one who still looked like a corpse, and had a somewhat recognizable face, the smell was absolutely putrid"
"Whoever this man was, he were definitely alive about a week or two ago" said one of our crewmates Deddo
"With the exception of Deddo, we all came back to the submarine, the only food that seemed to be around were the hot dogs on the hot dog stand, but as expected they were all spoiled, some were even growing some kind of fungus on it, it didn't look like there was anything else of interest so we decided to go in, but Deddo insisted that she wanted to investigate the place a little further, just for safety Aisuru decided to go with her, about an hour
later, both of them came back, and Deddo had what it looked like a small video game on her hand, we all gathered around to hear what her conclusion was, she straight up ignored us and went directly to the bathroom, so Aisuru told us about it instead"
"Not far from the corpse, in the middle of a few bushes, we found a bunch of empty bean cans, i first thought that he probably died of starvation, but then Deddo just being a weirdo, got close to the corpse and started "inspecting it", i was really gross, besides the video game she also found the actual cause of death, when i leaned over to see it, he's stomach was wide open, the smell was even worse then before, but then i
noticed, there were a few hot dog pieces in there, that's when we found out that, he must've got by the statue somehow, and it was living there with a few cans of beans, when the beans ran out, instead of starve to death he tried to eat one of the hot dogs, so he probably died thanks to some sort of bacteria in his stomach or something like that" Aisuru explained
"Its more likely to be because of the fungus growing on the hot dogs" said Deddo, wiping her hands with a rug
"From there, the day went out like any other, although this time, Deddo didn't participate our "tub time" as usual, she stayed all night on that video game, after she had charged it on the power room, hopefully she won't get too addicted to that thing..." said Zetsubo
A few more moons passes...
"Day seventy since the flood, today was quite the day, besides the awkwardness of this morning, when i accidentally caught Deddo and Hisshi making out on the bathroom, i mean i know everyone has needs and stuff, but at least lock the door first, anyway that's not the good part, today's tub session was the best one so far, we discussed about it for hours, we were thinking on what we could describe this time, when Hisshi showed us something"
"Maybe this thing?" said Hisshi holding a small purse
"When i was in the bathroom and Zetsubo rudely came in without knocking! It startled me a bit, and i hit myself on that busted drawer by the sink, the thing opened up a bit and i got curious about what was inside, so i found this purse, with this thingy on the side" said Hisshi
She pointed to a small keychain, it looked like a cartoonish white horse, with a purple mane and a few diamonds on its flank
"So.. What is that? A pony?" asked Owari
"I dunno, i think is a pony, why don't we just say "pony" we usually describe a random person with random features, but what if we don't describe anything at all? What will happen?" said Hisshi
"Probably nothing, since is not mentioned in the rules, but i might be interesting to give it a try" said Aisuru
"And so Hisshi did just that, she threw a piece of paper in the tub with the word "pony" and nothing else, we were expecting nothing to happen but...."
"A baby alicorn of unknown origins is found on coal mine, he is sent to an orphanage were he spent most of his fillyhood, until he was adopted by a white unicorn mare, he lived with her most of his life, as one day, unexpectedly, he faced a battle against unknown creatures, he ended up being impaled in the chest by both of them, but before he died, he used a spell to explode himself, the explosion evaporated the creatures, and the land was safe for many years to come, he is fated to return from the dead five thousand years later, and he will come back with a power never seen before" said the voice from the tub
"Everyone was speechless for a while, alicorn? An animal was sent to an orphanage? Spells? Reviving? So many questions, we stayed up till very late at night, discussing what could all of this mean, was it really something that happened somewhere on the world? Was the tub just making something up, since we didn't especify anything? It was a really fun night, we might need to stop describing things with the tub can come up with story like these"
The next night...
"Alright everyone is time for our daily tub session again" said Zetsubo
Everyone gathered around as usual by the tub
"So what's the theme of our meeting today?" said Aisuru
"I was thinking on how no one got this idea before, how about the hot dog guy? We could've found out how he even
Got in that island in the first place" said Owari
"That's actually..a good idea, yeah... Really how haven't we thought about this before?" said Zetsubo
Everyone agreed to describe the "hot dog guy" and so Deddo wrote his description down and threw it in the tub,
A few seconds later...
"His name was Unmei, he was an employee of a small shopping center, when the flood arrived, he got lucky by finding a inflatable boat and floated till he reached land, by swimming around at the area he found a small convenience store, were he went daily to grab canned food, his luck ran out when he was attacked by a shark, he dodged the shark's attack, but the shark ended up hitting the door of the store, causing it to colapse, he went back to the surface and a few hours later he decided to come back to the store, when he got there, the door was busted, it was not opening no matter how much force he putted into it, he eventually gave up, starting to starve he decided to risk eating one of the rotten hot dogs by the hot dog stand, it was he's worst idea, the fungus on the hot dog had a chemical reaction with his stomach fluids, causing a injury on his insides that quickly infectionated, he was feeling a indescribable amount of pain, he eventually fainted and died shortly after, his fate was to have his dead body found by a group of people who will soon meet their own fate" said the voice in the tub
Everyone was shocked by the last sentence "his fate was to have his dead body found by a group of people who will soon meet their own fate" some thought that another group of people found Unmei's dead body before they got there, but some thought that they were the group the tub was talking about, they had a terrified face right after, thinking on the worst possibility
"Ok.. That was weird, his fate happened after he was already dead? " Aisuru asked with a confused face
"Then maybe his story was...fake?" said Zetsubo
"I don't think so, that guy's stomach, i wasn't the one who opened it, it was already like that, but his hand and a part of his clothing were covering the injury so i just moved them out of the way and the smell got worse, just like the tube mentioned "causing a injury on his insides that quickly infectionated" he's stomach really looked like it was damaged by the insides" said Deddo
"So if it's really real...then what is our fate? Quick someone grab some more paper, describe yourself and throw it on the tub!" said Aisuru
Zetsubo quickly grabbed a piece of paper, described herself, and threw it in the tub
"She's a woman born in a apocalyptical era, her life was going surprisingly well for someone living in the apocalypse, suddenly, a flood swallowed earth, lucky enough she manage to get inside a submarine together with a group of friends, and manage to survive, her fate is drown together with her friends" said the voice in the tub
Everyone looked at each other with a terrified gaze, one of them had doubts
"Why was the tub so specific with not just the hot dog guy, but with other people too? While Zetsubo's story was super vague?" said Owari
"I think is because we all know Zetsubo, we all know what she has been trough in her life, we've been with her
since we were all kids, since the tub seems to know everything, why wouldn't it know that we are all friends?"
said Aisuru
"Ok guys listen, i say that there might be a way we can avoid this fate,if it really is true, i don't know how we will end up that way but, what i do know is that we can't drown if we are on land, so here's my plan, that island were we found Unmei is not far from here, i can change the course of the submarine so we can go there, once we get there we grab all of our resources and start living on the island, since we got a lot of resources, and our carrots finally started to sprout, i say if we rationalise everything, we can stay on the island for about three months, maybe our fate will be changed by then?" said Shinpi and Zetsubo agreed
On the way to the island everyone was quiet, Hisshi attempted to start a conversation but everyone ignored her, nearing the island, a loud thump sound came from the back of the submarine
"THE HELL WAS...."
Owari stopped mid sentence, when she looked at the ground and saw water starting to come out of the bathroom, at that moment everyone realised that they had very little time to change their fate
"Ascend! Now!" said Zetsubo
As the submarine started to ascend, more and more water started to pour out, Aisuru went to get the swimming gear that was in one of the rooms, but when he got there, all of the gear was gone
"Where the hell is our swimming gear!?" Aisuru asked
"What do you mean where!? We never used those things before, so who the hell could've taken it!?" said Zetsubo
"I don't know! But is define..."
Aisuru is interrupted by two other loud thumps, one after the other, one by the left side and the other from the
Top of the submarine, the water was coming even faster, and the submarine stopped ascending
"OUR TURBINES STOPpED WORKING ZETSUBO!" screamed Shinpi
"Darn it, let's get out! Before its too late" said Zetsubo
"But Zet we're still to deep in the water, the pressure is gonna hurt us badly, if not kill us first!" said Aisuru
"We have no choice, if anyone has a better idea then speak up!" said Zetsubo
Everyone just nodded in silence, and ran to the submarine's hatch, Aisuru got there first...
"Come on Ai open the darn thing, is starting to flood pretty badly down here" said Hisshi
"The dam thing is not opening, it looks like something smashed it.... I think is busted..... Guys?"
When Aisuru looked down, the water was already near his feet, everyone else was swimming around trying to find another exit, Aisuru didn't give up, he was putting all of his strength trying to open the hatch, while everyone was searching an exit Deddo found an opening on the bathroom,
but when she tried to get out from there, a four legged creature with wings and a horn stopped her from going any further, the creature sealed the hole, Deddo got out of air and started drowning, and so did everyone else in a matter of a few minutes, as the submarine sank to the depths.
while this was happening the four legged creature was watching from afar.
