Chapters A bad Christmas Memory (Updated 1/16/2023)
Ok now before this story begins I just want to mention something important in regards to when this takes place in the EQG timeline.
The order goes
I just wanted to mention this in case anyone is confused why, plus if the specials were in ‘proper’ order it's the order I think is best to go for. Alright, now that’s over with enjoy the story!

It was the last day of school before Christmas break and the Main Seven had all exited the bathroom after changing into their winter wardrobe. The weather had gotten a lot colder in the last week, so they decided to be extra warm. So to get ready they changed from their normal attire to their attire.
“Well ya'll, school is almost over, and once it is-”
“It’s officially Christmas Break!!!!” Rainbow Dash yelled, interrupting Applejack.
“Um yeah, so what do ya'll have planned for the holidays?” Asked Applejack.
Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash shared they'd be spending their Christmas with their families, while Applejack was going to be out of town to spend some time with her aunt, uncles, and cousins in Appaloosa.
As for Sunset and Twilight, it was obvious to say what they had planned, as Sunset would be spending her Christmas with Twilight's Family. The last few years whenever Christmas came, Sunset was spending it all alone. But since after last year, following the events of Anon-A-Miss, she spent a good portion of the holiday season with her friends. But this year, it would be mainly spent with her girlfriend Twilight and her family.
“Oh, your gonna love it Sunset! My family always throws a great Christmas party every year. Your gonna love it. Nothing will go wrong at all,” said an excited Twilight.
“Yep, I can’t wait. And am I glad that your parents aren’t weirded out that I have a pet owl now since Owlowiscious will be spending his first Christmas here, same with Ray,” shared Sunset.
“Oh Sunset, I’ve been meaning to ask. Has Owlowiscious gotten used to our world yet, since he's no longer in Equestria?” asked Fluttershy.
“Honestly, he got used to it very quickly. He’s been a big help around my apartment whenever it's nighttime. Feeding him has been a bit of a challenge with what owls eat, but I’ve been fine with that. Other than that, Owlowiscious almost doesn’t even know he ever left Equestria, to begin with. He's still acting like any owl would act. He even loves the pole I got him to sit on whenever he gets tired or wants to sit on.”
“Oh, that’s great! I hope Spike doesn’t get too upset having someone else around while you're staying with Twilight and her family.”
“I had a talk with Spike about that last weekend so he'd know about the company we'd be having. I told him if he did anything to Owlowiscious, he won’t be getting any belly rubs for a whole week,” explained Twilight.
“Spike sure loves his belly rubs. He can be quite cranky if he doesn't get one. Or just good scratch in general,” said Sunset.
Suddenly the bell rang throughout the school signaling that it was officially Winter break.
The girls soon excited CHS into a winter wonderland. Snow was still falling by the time they had left before they said their goodbyes and went their separate ways.
Twilight joined Sunset so they could stop at her apartment so she could pack her clothes, some food for Ray, and the wooden stand for Owlowiscious before heading back to Twilight’s place. Sunset had dropped her pets off at Twilight's home that morning so when school was over, she'd just need to bring over the other stuff she'd need while spending Christmas with Twilight's family. They wished they could've gotten a ride this time instead of walking, but Twilight's brother nor anyone else was available to give them a lift.
After they arrived at Twilight's house, the weather was starting to take a turn for the worse. More snow and fierce winds were said to be coming, and it was easy to tell just from their walk from Sunset's apartment.
Once the door was locked, they some snow that had landed on their shoulders following their walk. Owlowiscious soon flew over them from the living room, greeting both her owner Sunset and Twilight. Twilight Velvet soon came along, entering the room to greet the girl's arrival.
“Good afternoon girls. This weather sure is getting worst. Glad you two made it here safe and sound.”
“Yeah we did mom, I’m feeling quite chilly after being in the cold for a bit.”
"Same here. I could use a mug of hot chocolate and a warm blank now,” shared Sunset.
“Well, it's just your luck girls, I’m making some Hot Chocolate right this very moment,” said Velvet.
“Sweet thanks, Mom!”
“No problem dear, now why don’t you help Sunset unpack, while I go and finish up that Hot chocolate.”
“Ok mom, we’ll be down in a bit.”
Going upstairs to Twilight’s room, we find Spike sleeping on Twilight’s bed, liking having a dream involving chasing squirrels or possibly revenge against his arch-nemesis. But once he heard someone coming up the stairs and the sound of a door opening, he was instantly awake.
After finding a spot to put Ray's food and Owlowiscious’s wooden stand, along with Sunset's suitcase full of clothes, the girls decided to change out of their winter attire into some warmer clothes, before going downstairs to have some hot chocolate with Twilight's mother.
As Sunset entered Twilight’s room after using the bathroom to change her clothes, she got startled when she saw Twilight, who wasn't not wearing a shirt. Who was just wearing a light purple bra, along with a pair of pants and slippers?
They screamed at each other, knowing that they disturbed their privatizes. Velvet heard them while she was putting the finishing touches on the Hot Chocolate. She thought about what was going on up there, figuring she should check just to make sure. But since they were just changing, she decided to let them handle it as the adults they'd be within the coming months.
After the girls looked away from each other, their faces were now both red in embarrassment.
“I’ve got to stop walking into a room while you're changing Twilight. I’m sorry,” said a now-upset Sunset.
“No Sunset, it's fine. I’ve done it a few times myself so it's not a big deal. I should be used to this now. But somehow I haven't quite yet.”
“No Twilight. It's my fault. I shouldn't let this small inconvenient moment ruin our first Christmas together. I don’t want to have another bad Christmas again like what happened last year.”
“Wait, something happened to you last Christmas?”
Sunset nodded back in reply as she sat down on the side of Twilight's bed.
This started to concern Twilight so she thought about asking what happened.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Twilight asked, to which Sunset nodded in response. She joined her at the left side of her bed and linked her hand with Sunset's. Owlowiscious came over to join in as he seemed interested in what was going on.
“You see Twilight, a few months before the Friendship Games, a terrible thing happened that affected my friendship with our friends.”
“What happened?”
“Embarrassing photos and personal information were shared on Mystable. Many people thought that I was the one behind it, thinking I was going back to my old ways. But I wasn’t, as the ones behind it were the Crusaders. I was spending so much time with our friends, they grew jealous of me. Their sisters weren't spending time with them as they were giving me a lot of attention. I don't blame them for it. I was starting to get a hang of friendship by then. I wasn't alone anymore, all thanks to the magic of friendship. Because of this, they made the account. It was created just to humiliate me, but it ended up getting worse than expected. They apologized for what they did and everything has been normal since."
"That sure does explain why no one ever wanted to tell me whenever I asked," Twilight thought to herself.
"But it almost felt like a repeat when the Memory Stone incident happened earlier this year. Sometimes I just wonder what’s the point in living if you’ll be ignored and hated throughout your life, even if someone will be there for you to help,” Sunset said, as she started to tear up just thinking about it.
“Sunset Shimmer look at me.”
Sunset soon did so, looking into Twilight’s eyes with tears going down her face.
“It wasn’t your fault. They missed spending time with their sisters and wanted to be with them for the holidays. I felt the same way when Shining Armor left for College when I was in Middle School. But he comes to visit a lot when he has time off. Don’t you see, sometimes the smallest mistakes can lead to good things. My mom told me that once, so now, you know too.”
Sunset was now starting to feel better as a smile appeared on her face.
“Thank you Twilight. Sniff You really know how to make me feel better.”
“It’s what I do to help someone I care for,” Twilight replied as she whipped Sunset’s tears away before hugging her in the process.
“So you want to get some Hot Chocolate now?”
“Definitely.”
The two girls rushed downstairs to see Velvet had finished the Hot Chocolate. She was pouring them into three mugs just as they entered the kitchen so they could enjoy the sweet delight of a delicious hot beverage to enjoy on a cold day like today.
After Twilight and Sunset got their mugs of hot chocolate they went into the living room where they saw the family's Christmas set up. Its sparkling lights wrapped around it in beauty, with a few gifts already wrapped under the tree, waiting to be unwrapped once Christmas was here. There was also a fire going in the fireplace, it was sizzling nicely, knowing that they weren't gonna be cold anytime soon.
They then sat down on the couch with Spike and Owlowiscious sitting nearby. Velvet soon joined them with a blanket she offered to them before sitting down in her chair and taking a huge sip of her beverage, being cautious to not burn her tongue.
“So girls, how was your day?”
“It was great mom. Well, except for one thing that happened before we left.”
“What happened?”
“We took a group photo together with our friends and dressed up as the foods you’d find in a cornucopia. And-”
“It was embarrassing and we hated it,” the two girls said together.
“Huh, that explains this photo I received earlier,” Velvet said as she showed the picture she had on her phone, making her giggle in reply.
The two girls blushed and figured that they would expect more of this to come during the break, but knew it could've been worse if they didn't get to the gym on time.
As the night went on, they watched a Christmas movie together and shared a kiss after finishing their hot chocolate.
They nearly fell asleep together as the movie was just about over, as they felt happy to be spending their Christmas together.
Sunset will continue to think about the Anon-A-Miss incident around this time of year, but with Twilight by her side and being with her family, Sunset knew that Christmas would never again be a reminder of bad times in her life. As it would instead be a time to remember her time with her friends and the jolly saint Nick blasts she'd have with it!

The Perfect Gift (Updated 1/16/2023)
It was Saturday morning at the Sparkle house. Snow was falling outside, making the place look like a winter wonderland for the Christmas season.
Twilight and Sunset were cuddled together in a nice warm bed.
They were both sleeping silently until they heard Spike arguing about something.
“Give that back, that's mine!”
“Who who?”
“That isn’t yours, it's mine!”
Owlowiscious had taken one of Spike’s toys and wouldn’t give it back to him. This of course woke up the two sleeping girls from a really good night of sleep and a cuddle session they were having.
“What’s going on?” Replied a now-awakened Sunset.
“Spike, what are you arguing about now?” Replied an upset Twilight, as she got out of bed.
“He took one of my toys and he won’t give it back!”
“Who who who!”
“I don’t care what you're saying, that’s mine!”
Spike had had enough of his games now, as he jumped as high as he could to where Owlowiscious was sitting on his stand. He then swiped his toy out of Owlicious mouth before Owlicious lost his balance and began to fall!
Fortunately, Sunset jumped out of bed to save him before Owlicious landed safely on the ground using his wings.
“Phew, that was a close one.”
“Spike how many times have I told you to not be this noisy in the morning? Especially on weekends! Do you want anyone but me, Sunset, and our friends to know you can talk?!?”
“Point taken Twilight. But I couldn’t help it. That pesky bird took one of my favorite ones.”
“Who who who!”
“Owlicious says he’s sorry he did it and he promises to not do it again,” replied Sunset.
“He better not,” said Spike as he growled at him.
“This wasn’t how I expected to see our first day of winter break going. I’m sorry about that Sunset.”
“It's not a problem Twilight. I’d feel the same way if I was in your shoes right about now.”
“Well, I guess since we're up, we should go and get some breakfast. But first, Spike you better promise to not talk in front of mom or anyone else in this house except me and Sunset. Got it?” Asked an upset Twilight.
“Yes Twilight, I’ve gotten used to doing it and I’ll always make sure to not talk in front of anyone but you and your friends.”
“Now that’s a good boy I trained and raised well,” Twilight said, giving her pup a scratch under his chin.
“Well then guess since we're up we can start our day now, right Twi?”
“Yes, indeed Sunset. Even if it started with our pets fighting, I’m glad you’ll be spending Christmas with my family.”
“Same here.”
The two soon smiled before going into a kiss, it has since become a routine they did multiple times a week, so they've gotten used to knowing when is the appreciate time to kiss. Owlicious thought it was cute as he awned at them, while Spike of course thought it wasn't.
“Kissing is so gross, I prefer sniffing with my nose,” shared Spike, as he started to sniff for something to find.
As the girls walked down the stairs they could smell something delicious coming from the kitchen. And when they arrived in the kitchen they spotted Velvet was making waffles.
“Morning girls, sleep well?”
“Yes, we did mom.”
“Until Spike woke us up barking at Owlicious.”
“Oh, that’s a shame, Twilight. You need to make sure to control his barking and train him a bit more, got it?”
“Yes mom, I will. But first I need food,” Twilight said as she got herself a plate and put a few waffles on it, before drizzling some syrup on it.
After the girls had got their food and sat at the table, Velvet got started cleaning some dirty dishes in the sink before starting up a conversation.
“So girls, you got any plans for your first day of winter break?”
“Not much, we might go out to play in the snow or do some last-minute Christmas shopping.”
“Christmas shopping!! Oh no,” Sunset said before nearly choking on her food, grabbing her glass of orange juice in the process before she was breathing again.
“Something wrong Sunset?”
“I forgot to get a gift for you and your family. It's the least I can offer after you allowed me to stay here for the holidays.”
“Sunset, you don’t need to. What we care about is that you make my daughter happy and that you get to spend some time with our family.”
“Thank you, Ms. Sparkle. That means a lot,” Sunset replied as a smile appeared.
“Please Sunset, just call me Velvet. I think since I've gotten to know you so well you can call me by my preferred name.”
“That reminds me Sunset, I haven’t gotten you a gift either! I need to think of something to give you as well!”
“Well I guess I know what I'll be doing today,” Sunset replied, before getting up to put her plate and cup away. She then went back upstairs to take shower and get changed.
Not long later Sunset was dressed up in her winter clothes and was getting ready to leave for the mall. But before she touched the doorknob she heard someone approaching her, which turned out to be Velvet.
“So, you thought of what you want to give to my daughter for Christmas Sunset?”
“Well, you see I, uh, I was thinking? Sigh , I honestly have no clue. I want to make something that both Twilight and I will like, but I’m not sure how to do it?”
“What did you have in mind?”
“Ever since Twilight gave me that jacket you helped her make, I've been thinking about giving her something just like it. But I got no experience in sewing or how to do it. I’d ask Rarity for help since she knows how to do it, but she has her stuff going on with it being Christmas break. I don't want to waste her time with my present just so I can make Twilight happy.”
“I can help if you'd like.”
“You’d do that?”
“Of course. She’s my daughter. It's the least I can do for someone who cares very much for her.”
“Thank you, Velvet.”
A few minutes later Velvet was now dressed and ready to leave with Sunset to get what she needs to make the perfect gift for Twilight.
“Twilight, Sunset, and I are gonna be going on a few errands, we’ll be back in a bit.”
“Ok mom, thanks.
And before she knew it, Sunset and her mom left for the Canterlot mall.
"I wonder why Sunset is going on some errands with her?” Twilight wondered to herself.
After Sunset and Velvet had left Twilight was home alone with just herself, Spike, and Owlicious for company. After twenty minutes of just re-reading another one of her books in her room, she began to feel bored.
“Err, this is one of the times of the year I wish I had something to do. Wait, I know! I should work on something. Like, getting a gift for Sunset!”
“Do you even know what you want to give her Twilight?” Spike said as he rolled where he sat on her bed.
“No. But I’ll think of something. Wait, I got it!”
Twilight soon searched through her photos on her phone and decided to give Sunset a picture of them both as her gift for her girlfriend for Christmas.
After choosing the photo she liked she went over to her dad’s desk to grab a photo frame to use and began modifying it on her computer before printing it. After she fitted the photo into its frame she wrapped it up and then put it under the Christmas tree in the living room.
“It’s not much, but I know Sunset will love it. Now that that’s over with, I guess I should do that other thing I need to get done with.”
She then went back to her room to find Spike who was in the same positive she saw him earlier. When Spike saw Twilight just staring at her he knew something was up. And soon he got his answer.
“Oh Spike, guess what time it is?”
“Playtime?"
“Nope, it's bath time!”
Twilight soon revealed a bar of soap from behind her hand, and instantly Spike was in full panic! He hated baths and he knew he needed to leave before Twilight caught him.
“Um Twilight, maybe we should skip this week with my bath? I’m pretty clean this week,” lied Spike.
“Oh, I ain’t falling for that Spike. Now to make sure things don't get worse, I'll be taking things up a notice with my geode.”
"Not if I have anything to say about it!"
And before she knew it Spike ran off her bed before he jumped onto her. Seconds later he grabbed her geode off her neck.
"My geode! Spike bring that back now!"
And so the wild goose chase had begun. Twilight now had to catch her dog not only to bathe him but also to get her geode back. Will she be able to succeed? I have no clue as I'm just the narrator and cannot predict the future.
Velvet and Sunset had just arrived at the Canterlot Mall to get the supplies they'd need for Twilight's gift.
They went to several stores where Sunset found the materials she wanted. Once their shopping was complete they were on their way home to start work on Twilight's present.
When they arrived back, they were shocked to see Twilight who appeared to have just gotten herself into a fight with something. Her hair was a complete mess, her glasses were askew, there were multiple tears and scratches on her, and Spike’s fur was puffed up.
“Let me guess Twilight, you had trouble giving Spike a bath again?” Question Velvet.
“Yep. I don’t know why but Spike has to be quite the pain when it comes to baths, but every time it's always the same thing. Except for this time I had to chase him to get my necklace back, to which he ended up scratching and ruining my clothes.”
“I’ll say. Why don’t I help you get cleaned up and help you get a change of clothes.”
“Ok Sunset. I could use it anyway.”
Once Sunset helped Twilight change into a new pair of clothes and checked if her injuries were serious or not she joined Velvet in her room and began their work.
Sunset had trouble at first getting to know how sewing worked but after a while, she got the hang of it.
After the sewing was done they got work starting with the logo to put on the outfit. Sunset decided to make matching outfits for herself and Twilight. There's have matching with their combined cutie on it with matching T-shirts to go with them.
Since Velvet didn't know what a cutie mark was Sunset just told her it was a custom logo she made a while back. But it was the logo off of the new journal she got from Princess Twilight months prior when she returned to Equestria and met Starlight Glimmer.
When the work was done Sunset was happy with it and knew Twilight was gonna love it.
After Velvet put away her sewing machine she helped Sunset wrap the gift up and it was ready to be put under the tree with the rest of the gifts, to await til Christmas morning for Twilight to open up.
“Thank you for the help Velvet. I couldn’t have done it without you.”
“It was my pleasure Sunset. I'm quite surprised you decided to do a pair of skirts with matching t-shirts. I was expecting a jacket that matched the one Twilight made for you. But knowing that you wanted to try something new, is acceptable in my book. Plus, I've always wanted to see Twilight in matching clothes with someone she cares for. While I originally wanted it to be one of her friends, I'll lovingly accept a girlfriend of hers any day now.”
“Now you're starting to sound like Rarity. But yes, one pair is for Twilight and the other is for me. Good thing we're the same size/ The only problem was the design and appearance.”
The two soon giggled just thinking about it until they heard the doorbell ring.
Twilight was the closest so she was the one who opened it. When it did it was revealed to be Nightlight, who had just arrived home from his business trip.
“Welcome home Dad!” Twilight said as she proceeded to hug him.
“How’s my daughter doing? Is Sunset here?”
“Right here, it's good to see you again Mr. Sparkle,” Sunset said as they shared a handshake with him.
“It's nice to see you again Sunset, but please call me Night Light. It’ll be nice to be spending the holiday season with the girl my daughter loves. And like my wife might've told you I just think it is better than being called Mr. and Mrs. Sparkle during your stay with us.”
“And that you arrived back home safely,” replied Velvet, she kissed her husband welcoming him home.
"It's good to be home in time for Christmas. Is dinner almost ready? I haven’t eaten much today?”
“It’ll be ready in an hour.”
“Thanks, honey, now if you ladies excuse me I got some unpacking to do.”
Night Light made his way up the stairs with his suitcase while Velvet headed towards the kitchen to finish the final touches on dinner.
As for Twilight and Sunset, they decided to go and play some video games to pass the time. Twilight wasn’t the biggest video game fan but she had started to enjoy them more whenever playing them with Sunset.
Before they knew it dinner was ready and the girls joined the two parents for a nice home-cooked meal.
After a long and hard day, the two girls got ready for bed as they emerged from the bathroom in their pajamas.
The two have gotten used to being together so they didn’t mind changing at the same time. As they crawled into bed they chatted for a bit about their plans for the remainder of their break.
This went on for what felt like forever until they looked at the clock that read 10:27 p.m.
“We better get some sleep. Tomorrow is gonna be another great day Twilight,” Sunset said as she turned off the lamp.
“It sure is Sunset. I can’t wait to see Flurry Heart again in a few days. It’s still a surprise I’m an aunt already, and I'm only seventeen,” Twilight said, removing her glasses before facing her girlfriend.
“Well, you must be proud to have a niece already at such a young age.”
“Yeah, and I can’t wait to spend Christmas with my brother and girlfriend.”
They soon bid each other goodnights as they slowly fell asleep, thinking about what will happen when Christmas comes in the next week.
Author's Note
There you go chapter two. I originally wanted to get this out last night but I lost track of time and didn't get a chance to work on this. It was mainly due to the fact spent most of my day playing Pokémon go and then later that night trying to fix my Alexa that wasn't working. I did get it fixed fortunately, but I then went down a rabbit hole of sadness over the news of another actor from a show I know who passed at a very young age. Other than that I hope you all enjoy this chapter and expect to see chapter 3 next weekend. And before I go, that part with Spike hating baths I thought would be a nice thing to add, since own my dog Hazel hates them, as whenever I give her one she just sometimes won't stay still. I thought it would be funny to add, which of course I did.

A Christmas get together (Updated 1/16/2023)
It was Christmas Eve at the Sparkle house and everyone was in a jolly good mood. Christmas was just one day away and that meant Shining Armor was coming home for Christmas, along with Cadance and their child Flurry Heart.
Twilight was excited to be seeing her brother again, and her old babysitter, and the current Principal of Crystal Prep, Cadance. Since taking over following Cinch's departure Crystal Prep had been doing a phenomenal job since she took over. However Flurry Heart's birthday she began searching for someone to take over as Principal. Cadance wanted to spend more time taking care of her child, while at the same time wanting to continue her role at CPA. But she wasn't gonna give up till she found a good replacement, even if it took her a year or more.
After the two girls woke up that morning to their pets fighting again Twilight decided to not punish Spike this time. It was Christmas Eve and her brother was arriving in just a few short hours.
As Sunset emerged from the bathroom combing her red and yellow hair she saw Twilight sitting near the window. She had a smile on her face, as she was hyped to be seeing her bbbff again.
“Excited your brother, sister-in-law, and your niece are coming home for Christmas?” Sunset asked as she walked slowly toward Twilight.
“Yeah, I haven’t seen my brother since you spent the summer with us. He and Cadance have been busy since then, mainly dealing with Flurry Heart while trying to find a new principal to take Cadance's place.”
“Starting a family sure can be tough when trying to find a new principal at the same time. Have they had any luck lately?”
“No, but they aren’t giving up. Cadance is hoping once she finds one she'll be spending more time at home taking care of Flurry Heart, while my brother continues his role as a police officer. It's a shame he no longer works at CPA, but he wanted to join the police academy, which just makes me and my family more proud of him.”
“Speaking of Crystal Prep, do you still talk to any of your old friends? More specifically Sour Sweet, Indigo Zap, Sunny Flare, Lemon Zest and Sugarcoat?”
“Sometimes. But most of the time I'm enjoying my time with you and the girls. Those girls are doing better now, but the friends I've made at CHS, I trust them with my life.”
“So have I Twi,” Sunset said as she sat down next to her before going into a kiss, until-
“Twilight dear, Shining Armor and Cadance have arrived!!” Said her mother excitedly.
And just like that Twilight dashed out of her room like a child on Christmas morning, leaving a shocked Sunset in the dust.
Sunset was a little bit disappointed she didn’t get to kiss her girlfriend but she knew she was gonna get her chance later.
As arriving downstairs the first thing she saw was Twilight giving her big brother and sister-in-law a huge welcoming hug.
“It's good to see you again Twily, And you too Sunset Shimmer,” Shining Armor said as he gave her a handshake.
“Please, just call me Sunset, Shinning Armor. It's good to see you both, and to finally see Flurry Heart again!”
“Yeah, she’s grown so much these last few months,” Cadence said as she tickled her child, giggling happily back at her.
“Let me take those for you son.”
“Dad, I’m a grown man, I can handle it myself.”
“You may be a grown man, but you're still the son I love and care about,” replied Night Light as he took his son's luggage before he could fight back.
They then all shared a nice laugh as Sunset and Twilight helped them with the rest of their luggage to the guest room.
As the hours went by they shared many conversations about what's been going on since they last saw each other and were all glad to be together on Christmas Eve.
“And that was when Shining Armor realized he forgot to tell me after days of dealing with Flurry Heart, he didn’t have experience handling a child since he was seven years old.”
This caused everyone in the room to laugh while Shining tried to hide a blush growing on his face.
“Haha, very funny dear. This whole dad thing is still new to me. But I’ll get the hang of it. Eventually.”
“What matters is that our light girl is doing well. And that she seems to happy to see Sunset again.”
Sunset had Flurry Heart in her arms and was very happy to be seeing her again. She hadn't seen her since her birth several months ago. While she had grown a bit within that period, she still showed up her adorableness to Sunset.
“Having a child must be quite a hard thing to handle. And while you're still Principal of Crystal Prep.”
“It has. We’ve had several nights where we didn’t even sleep because of it. As much as I have enjoyed working there for many years, I just want to take time off to take care of Flurry Heart. While Shining continues his role as a police officer.”
“Don’t worry Cadence, you’ll find someone to take your place eventually. But what matters now, is we're all here together as a family on Christmas Eve.
“Even me?” Questioned Sunset.
“Yes, Sunset even you. You are now a part of my family and we gladly accept it,” Twilight said as she kissed Sunset on the cheek before blushing in happiness.
Sunset was happy she had another family on earth alongside her friends. While she never thought about finding a second family that would accept her it was all thanks to Twilight for making it possible.
After a long hard day and a delicious meal prepared by Velvet, they all got ready for bed for the big day tomorrow, Christmas!
As Sunset and Twilight got changed into their pajamas they played with their pets for a bit before heading off to bed.
“I really must thank you Twilight for allowing me to spend Christmas with your family. Despite my family being gone, I kinda feel like they never left. I have you, our friends, and your family now. Sometimes I forget how wonderful being in a family can be.”
“Well, I’m glad Sunset, and you're welcome. No one deserves to spend the holiday season alone. Especially on Christmas. Speaking of, are you hoping to get what you want for Christmas this year?” Twilight asked.
“I do, but it can wait. I think it's time we head to bed, it's getting late.”
“Aww, we can’t just stay up a little longer? Please?”
“Ok then sure Twilight, but only a few more minutes. St. Nicholas won’t come unless we're all asleep.”
Twilight smiled at her before moving over to hug her.
“Is something wrong Twilight?”
“No Sunset. It's just, despite this year, being a bit rough with school, equestrian magic, and almost losing you twice, you’ve made me the happiest I’ve been since I was a child. And I thank you for that. You may be from Equestria, you're still my girlfriend, the first friend I’ve had in years, and someday my future wife.”
“Thank you Twilight, I do too. I haven’t felt a connection like this ever before. And I love it.”
“Me too.”
"I love you Sunset Shimmer."
"I love you Twilight Sparkle."
The two soon went into a kiss before giggling and heading off to sleep.
As the two slowly fell asleep they were excited about what gifts they’ll get the next morning, and we're hoping the gifts they got for each other, they'll both love very much.

Merry Christmas (Updated 1/16/2023)
It was Christmas morning. The sun had shown its way into Twilight’s room waking up the sleeping girls and their pets knowing that today was gonna be a great day.
“Good morning Twilight, Merry Christmas.”
“Morning Sunset. Merry Christmas.”
After they got out of bed they went downstairs to find everyone was waiting for them. Including little Flurry Heart who was in Shining Armor's lap sucking on her pacifier.
“You girls ready to open some presents?” Question Night Light.
“Yes, we are!" Replied Twilight.
As they began opening their presents they all received many great gifts. Twilight got more books, Flurry Heart got some new baby toys, including a little snail plush she just loved at first sight, Shining Armor and Night Light got embarrassed over getting underwear, while Cadance and Velvet got new supplies that would come in handy. As for Sunset, she surprisingly got many great gifts. She was surprised Twilight's family had gotten her some as she was expecting to only have four or five gifts.
After most of the gifts were opened, there were only two left under the tree. And those gifts were the ones for Sunset and Twilight, the gifts that they both got for each other.
“Merry Christmas Twilight. This gift is from me. Your mom helped me with it. I hope you like it.”
Twilight soon unwrapped the gift, revealing the outfit that Sunset had made for her. Twilight was just shocked to see just how good it was and that was in her colors and Sunset's colors of purple, pink, red, and orange. She soon had tears of happiness in her eyes. Not only did she get a gift from her girlfriend, but also something made by Sunset herself.
“Oh Sunset, I love it! This is just like when I gave you that jacket when I confessed I loved you! Thank you very much,” Twilight said as she began hugging Sunset before stepping away and twirling a strand of her hair in embarrassment.
“I’m glad you love it Twilight, and I gotta give your mom some of the credit too for helping. Without her help, I wouldn’t have been able to make that for you.”
“It was no problem Sunset. I’m just glad to see that my daughter is happy.”
But just as Twilight picked the outfit out of the box, she realized something.
"Wait, why are there two sets of the same outfit you made for me?" Twilight asked.
“Well, it's so we match. I hope you don't mind.”
"That just makes it even better!” Twilight said, making the biggest smile she’s made in a long time.
“And last but not least, the gift I got you.”
Sunset soon tore open the gift to reveal itself to be a framed photo. But not just any photo. It was of the two of them from one of their dates. And the best part was that on the bottom of the picture frame, it said 'My heart will always go on for the Sunset I love dearly.'
Sunset soon started to cry with tears of happiness as she looked up back at Twilight before hugging her.
“This is the best Christmas gift I have ever gotten. It may just be a photo, but this means a lot to me Twilight. Thank you very much for it.”
“I’m glad you love it Sunset. I originally was gonna give it to you without the graving on it, but after I got help from my Dad, I managed to make it even better.”
"No need to thank me Twilight. Just doing my job of helping my daughter with trying to impress her girlfriend."
Sunset was happy to have spent this past year knowing more of Twilight’s family and after spending the morning with them she decided to share with them something that only Twilight, Spike, and their friends knew about her.
“I know this may sound like a bad time to tell you all this but, I have something to confess to you all. I hope you all understand it because only Twilight, my friends, and many students at CHS and CPA have known for some time.”
“What is it Sunset?” Replied Cadance.
Twilight soon realized what was going on and that Sunset was gonna reveal to them she isn't from their world. She tried to stop her before she said the words, but it was too little, too late to stop her.
“I’m not from this world.”
This soon caused three out of the four adults to get very confused over what they all heard.
“Plus there’s another thing to know as well. These geodes that my friends, Twilight and I have been wearing for the last few months give up powers. And as a bonus, Spike can talk now.”
“Sunset dear, are you feeling alright? You don’t have a fever do you?” Asked Velvet.
“She doesn’t mom. She's telling the truth.” Twilight replied. She felt hesitant to not do this at first but she ended up doing it as she used her telekinesis as a demonstration to them all that she indeed had powers. This surprised the family entirely over what they had just witnessed.
“Am I still dreaming or did my sister just say that she and her friends have powers?” Questioned Shining Armor as she gave Flurry Heart to Cadance.
“Nope, she ain’t joking,” replied Spike as he entered the room startling the family.
“This all makes sense now. Especially with what happened at the final round of the Friendship Games!” Cadance realized.
“Yeah, it's all true.” Replied Twilight and Sunset.
“And there was a reason why I never brought it up. If the authorities find out about it, this Sunset is likely gonna be in danger. As would the world she comes from, known as Equestria. But now that you know this, I'm asking you from deep inside my heart if you all can please keep this a secret. I love Sunset very much and I don't want you to hate her. She's funny, she understands me, and she loves it when I do my nerd talk. She changed my life forever when she offered me the path of friendship. And I haven't regretted it since then,” shared Twilight.
After a minute of silence, the four adults soon replied one at a time regarding Twilight's request.
“Of course.”
“Sunset is a great member of the family.”
“As long as you are happy, I'm happy.”
“Your secret is safe my little ladybug.”
While no one was expecting to learn such information regarding Sunset's past, she was fortunate to have those who will keep her secret, protected at all costs.
"By the way Sunset, what are your powers?"
"I can read your memories by touching your hand."
"Wait what!?"
"Would you like me to look in yours?"
Shinning Armor felt weird about it but ended up finding out for himself when Sunset did. It was odd she found out just by touching him, it was still a very cool power she possessed like his sister's telekinesis.
That night as dinner was getting ready, Sunset and Twilight were finishing up a Christmas movie together. They both wore the matching outfits Sunset made, feeling closer than ever now.
They both loved them and they couldn’t wait to see what their friends would say when the break was over.
After shutting off the tv they soon started to listen to some Christmas songs together as they sang along with the lyrics.
And just at the end of the song, Sunset took Twilight over to another part of the room.
“Sunset, why did we get up just now, dinner isn't ready yet?”
“Look up silly.”
Twilight did so and gasped at what she saw. Laying above them tied up to the ceiling was a mistletoe. Twilight was surprised at first but was ready for what was coming for her.
The two soon went into a deep and soothing kiss. They then looked deep into each other's eyes, seeing how happy they were knowing they got to spend their first Christmas together, with another year to look forward to with their relationship.
“Merry Christmas Twilight.”
Merry Christmas Sunset.”
The couple went back into another kiss to savor the moment before Spike ran into the room and started fighting with Owlicious again.
"And here I thought she saw the last of this," Twilight replied before face-palming herself.
"Some things never changed," shared Sunset, before she and Twilight went to go and break up their pets from yet another fight.
It was gonna take a while for Twilight’s family to get used to the fact that Sunset was from another dimension, and a pony as well. Not to mention that Twilight and the rest of them had powers and Spike was capable to talk actual human words now.
Nevertheless, they were happy to have a nice Christmas together, as the family welcomed a new member that will forever be a great part of future memories to make for years to come.
Whatever comes next, we'll just have to wait and see what comes.
