The Kijo of Red Alley
In the kirin empire of Keikaji, where demons and spirits lie, a young pegasus discovers that rich foreigners like him are taken advantage of—for the she-demon hunts in daylight.
A danger lurks in the dark backroads of Heaven-on-High. Called a Kijo, or “she-demon”, she takes on the guise of a beautiful mare. It’s said that she leads gullible young stallions down a dark alley where she reveals her true form and steals his soul.
A mere ghost story for parents to tell their budding children; a cautionary tale. Certainly not based upon real events. Swiftwater is too old to believe in stories, beside.
