" That'll be all for the day But Mac, thanks for the hard work and say hi to Granny for me ". Said the owner of the small restaurant as Big Mac finished with his deliveries for the whole weekend.

" Not a problem Mister Smokey, but your message will have to wait 'till Granny returns from the school's field trip, they'll be gone for a few days ". Big Mac responded as he jumped back in this truck. " See ya ".

Big Mac drove away from the restaurant and back to the main streets of the city, as he did so he double checked his list of chores just to make sure he wasn't seen things, his list was completed, no big tasks left, no repairs or clean ups, no harvesting or refilling the silo, there were small things to do but he could do those with his eyes closed and in less that one hour, in other words, he had the whole weekend for himself, with his sisters and Grandmother gone he could do anything he wanted on the house, but what exactly?

Before he could dwell further in the issue the next light came in for him to advance, turning around the corner he came about the school and passed in front of the parking, the buses were long gone by now and the school was empty, the whole personal including the Principal and her sister were gone with the rest.

Big Mac remembered his own trips back when he was a student and a chuckle came to him, those were right times having to work and study at the same time but he was glad his little sisters didn't have much of that problem.

Passing another intersection the truck ran near the apartment area, Big Mac was about to reach the next light which was in green when a girl walked in front of him. " Shit! ". His boot sunk the pedal all the way to the bottom to avoid hitting the girl head on, thankfully, he wasn't driving too fast otherwise the crash would have been unavoidable.

The truck came to a stop just a few inches away from the girl, quickly, Big Mac jumped out of his truck and went to see if she was ok, his own fears from maybe hurting the girl making him act rash and intimidating. Twice he asked if she was ok but the girl didn't respond, her eyes looked red and afraid, but more than that, sad. Then, just like as if someone had flipped off a power switch, the girl fainted.

CLINIC OF DOCTOR CHAIN LINKS...

" Just passed out? No other injury Doc? ". Mac asked the family doctor.

" Not that can be seen so far, although her blood pressure may be a bit erratic for the next few days, she's ok But Mac, I'm sure she's wake up soon ". Said the doctor while finishing the paperwork.

Suddenly, the door that lead to the patient's room opened and Starlight walked out surprising both, however, she was still weak and the third or fourth step she almost fell but She found herself in the arms of the human from before. She tried to free herself believing to be in trouble with the human but Big Mac now free from his panic was able to calm her down. " Is ok missy, yer not in danger, Ah brought ya to a clinic so that the doctor could check ya out ".

Starlight looked around and saw the human wearing a white lab coat and glasses that gave him away as such, confirming that indeed she was not in danger, at least not immediately.

" Mah name is Macintosh, and Ah'm very sorry that Ah almost hit ya with mah truck but ya walked on the road with a red light, do ya feel anything wrong? Are ya in any pain? Anywhere? ". Mac asked while holding her as if she was made out of class something that made her feel weird but not in a bad way, she thought that it may have to do with the fact that it was skin on skin contact with no fur in between.

" Ahem, It would seem you're fine now but I would like to check your vitals before letting you go ". Starlight followed Dr Links through the process and was soon enough she was allowed to leave, however, now came the worry of how to pay for the doctor's services.

" Your welcome Big Mac, be more careful now Miss Glimmer ". Starlight nodded and followed the blonde man outside of the clinic in silence, her mind mind trying to assess the situation so far.

" Excuse, by, by any chance, is your name Macintosh, from Sweet Apple Acres? Brother of Applejack? ". Starlight asked.

" Eeyup, the same, are ya one of mah sister's friends from school? Ya look a bit older for High school ". Mac asked in return.

" I... Ah ". Before answering, Starlight's strength left and she almost dropped to the floor but once more Big Mac got her before that could happen.

" Ya ok? Should we go back with the clinic? ". He asked worry.

" No no, I'm, I'm fine, just weak, haven't eaten anything the whole day. I was supposed to eat with my mar-with a friend, but she stood me up ". Starlight once more felt a tingling sensation been in the arms of the human Big Mac, she also felt her previous emotions of anger, disappointment and despair coming back remembering what Trixie did.

Once inside, Big Mac brought th truck to life and begun the drive home, for the first few minutes the trip was carried in silence but it was broken with another growling from Starlight. " Guess I'm hungrier that I thought ".

" Reckon so, wait, let me see if Ah still have one of those here, maybe in the glove compartment? ". Big Mac stretched his hand and searched until he found what he was looking for. " Here, this will help ya out until we reach mah house ". He handled her a fruit bar that she started chewing immediately.

Big Mac watched her from the corner of his sight with curiosity, a few things clicking about her that were pointing to an odd suspicious, when he saw her finish the bar he asked.

" Are ya, do ya came from the same ' place ' as Miss Shimmer? ".

" Sunset? Yes, you, you know about what that ' place ' is? ".

" Colorful ponies and magic, right? ".

" Ye-yeah, in simple terms yes, did Sunset told you about it? ".

" Nope, Ah heard it from Applejack, way she described sounds like a very happy and cheerful place ".

The tone of her voice was pretty odd for Big Mac, it was obvious that something was up with her but before he could inquire further they arrived at the farm. Big Mac walked out and helped Starlight do the same. He took her inside the house and into the kitchen.

" Take a seat Starlight, Ah'll have something ready in minutes ". The equestrian did as told and sat down on the long table, she watched as Big Mac moved from the fridge to the counter and from there to the stove without saying further word, something that she expected been that the Big Mac from Equestria wasn't much of a talker either, a few minutes later that kitchen was bombed with the smell of home cooking, the smell was so appealing that her stomach released another growl of approval embarrassing her once more.

Big Mac turned to her with a little smile. " The food will be ready soon, it'll be good, Ah promise ". Somehow, listening someone saying the word ' promise ' put her in a sad mood, all thanks to her little confrontation with Trixie.

While she waited submerged in self thought, her eyes were distracted by the sight of Big Mac's back, the young man walked from and forth of the stove, his movement wasn't erratic, nor fast, not slow or even impressive, yet, something about him was kind of hypnotic for Starlight, she kept watching, this time with more focus, trying to find out what was that her eyes were glued to.

The chime of the oven went off. " It seems ready, let see ". Big Mac bended forward to inspect the food and right then, Starlight had her answer. " So, ya know that Sunset and the rest of the girls are gone for a few days, right? ".

" Yes, I just found out, my whole intension was to spend a few days with her, of course that included logging and food, but now... I just don't know ".

" Hmm, couldn't ya go back to yer world and come back when the girls come back? ".

As time went on Trixie became more nervous, then finally the day when Rarity would come back arrived and Twilight invited both mares to go and give her the welcome.

" Why don't you want to go? Everypony is going, even Discord will be there ".

" No I, I have, I have some stuff to take care off, why, why don't you come with me? We c-could eat outside, it will be fun ". Trixie's voice was almost cracking.

" Outside, like a picnic? ".

Both mares turned around to find the door open and the mane six present, Rarity on the front, they all spotted different gestures ranging from embarrassed (Fluttershy) to serious (Rarity) from disappointed (Twilight) to angry (Applejack), and finally from sad (Pinkie) to vicious (Rainbow Dash) all their eyes were directed to the white haired mare.

" Rarity! Everypony! What's going on here? Can somepony explain? And why are you looking at Trixie like that? ".

" He-hey girls, ple-! ".

" Zip it you no good toothin' snake! How could ya cheat her like that?! Why I should-Hey! ". Rainbow stopped Applejack from advancing against the trembling Trixie who by now knew why the country made was fuming mad.

" Easy there Applejack, I too want to knock some sense on her but weren't calling the shots here, this is her business ". Now all eyes shifted to Starlight, the mix feeling they were sending her combined with what escaped out of Applejack's lips was now becoming a lump in her throat that would expand as Rarity started her explanation.

" She tried to refuse, didn't she? ". Starlight nodded, she took a look at Trixie who was just watching at her hooves in shame. " So, it just so happens that one of the places we visited was Stalliongrad, we would spend there the last days of our vacation before coming back, it was actually Sweetie Belle who found out that Trixie was performing on the city at the same time ".

" So, I went with Sweetie to see her show, we did so, after that we asked the attendance if we could speak with her and say hello, we were allowed and directed to her room ". Her serious face morphed for a few seconds to anger as the memory returned vividly. " Sweetie Belle was very excited so she rushed in without knock first, she found Trixie alright, her and, a friend, another mare, doing... doing things that my poor little sister could not comprehend, things that weren't proper for a filly to see ".

" Take a guess at what Sweetie Belle saw ". Rainbow Dash said.

" Starlight, I think you should-! ". Twilight spoke for the first time but Starlight interrupted her, by now she knew what the whole thing was about, every little detail coming together like a jigsaw puzzle that finally had a form.

" Trixie, di, di-? ". The words were almost impossible to get out, her mouth felt dry and the lump in her throat was close to choke her. Her eyes stung with the pressure of tens of tears wanting to exit, her heart felt like a lemon about to be squeezed until no drop of juice was left. " Did you cheated on me? Did you do it with another mare? ".

" Trixie? Did you? Trix? ANSWER ME DAMN IT! ". Starlight yelled out loud with enough force to burst an artery. Trixie, in shame and embarrassment, used her teleportation spell which failed 7 out of 10 times used, but to her luck, this was one of the 3 that worked.

With the object of her anger and sadness gone, Starlight fell to the floor trembling, she doesn't know when unconsciousness claimed her.

END OF FLASHBACK...

Just like in her memories, her eyes became red with tears of pain, she could feel the cold trail her tears left, another tear ran down the same path but it was instructed by something, Starlight saw Big Ma retreating his hand with which he used to catch the tear, his face was full of concern for her, she still didn't know why but in that moment she wanted a hug more that never before, without asking, Big Mac gave her one.
