Feather Bangs' Sleepy Time
It was nighttime around Starlight's old village and almost every pony was asleep. In one of the houses, Feather Bangs exited from his bathroom after a long shower.
"Woo! That was refreshing!" Feather said to himself as he dried off his manes with a towel. He trotted his way towards his bed to snuggle under the blanket. "Time for my beauty sleep." Feather said as he clapped his hooves to turn the lights off. He laid down and closed his eyes so he could enter his dream world.
In Feather's dream world, it was an open field that was covered with giant feather quills and wig mannequin heads. All of a sudden, a large pencil lowered from the sky and the tip landed to the ground. The large pencil began to draw in the air until it created a completely accurate image of Feather Bangs. Once the pencil returned to the sky, the picture of Feather began to lift itself upwards so Feather could be completely three-dimensional.
"Woo! That's one way to make an entrance." Feather said as he looked around his dream world. "If only I had a ride. It would sure beat walking." At that moment, a shiny, red sports car appeared next to Feather. "That will do." Feather said as he hopped inside and turn the key ignition. The car began driving forward very fast while Feather was behind the wheel. Feather relaxed as he cruised through the quill and wig head field. "Wait a second!" Feather said in realization. "I forgot to put mousse on my manes!" A can of mane mousse appeared and Feather grabbed it. He looked at the mirror while spraying the mousse on his manes. "Lookin' good, handsome." Feather said to himself. Since he was so focused on styling his manes, he didn't notice that he was driving towards an area full of small rocks. Feather patted his manes for some finishing touches. "There, now I'm perfect." Feather said as he smiled at his reflection. He was startled when he felt the car hitting the small rocks on the road. The car crashed against a huge rock and Feather flew right out of the vehicle. "Huh, I must've forgotten to put on seatbelts." Feather said to himself before he cried out in panic. He continued to fly through the air until there was a sudden flash.
Feather crashed through what felt like a door and he skidded on the floor. "Ow," Feather said as he slowly regain his consciousness. When Feather opened his eyes, he was shocked to see that he was in a completely different place. It was a mix of bright, bluish colors and there were also some small balls of light as well. Feather also noticed that there were two long rows of different doors.
'Where am I?' Feather thought. He noticed that one of the doors was shattered and the pieces were spilled on to the ground. "I guess that's where I came from." Feather said to himself. He decided to trot around to see if he could find a way out of the door realm. Feather looked at one of the doors and just shrugged. "I guess I'll just pick one." Feather used his hoof to turn the door's handle and a light shined as he opened it.
The door's light dimmed down which allowed Feather to see more clearly. He was surprised to see that the place he had entered was a large forested area completely made out of colorful balloons. Feather also noticed that the animals moving around were also made out of balloons. Feather was lost for words as he trotted pass the balloon trees and bushes until he came across another strange scene. It was a light blue unicorn stallion with fuzzy dark blue manes and he was sitting in front of a large table that also was made up of animals made up of colorful balloons. Feather could easily recognize the light blue stallion as Party Favor since Feather had seen him around the village.
"Here you go, Brian." Party Favor said as he offered a tea cup to a pink balloon dog. "I brewed this tea with special tea leaves." Party Favor turned to an orange balloon giraffe and he offered it a plate of cookies. "Here you go, George. One plate of freshly made cookies."
"Party Favor?" Feather said in surprise. Party Favor stopped and turned to Feather.
"F-Feather Bangs?" Party Favor said in disbelief. "H-how did you get in my dream?"
"I have no idea," Feather admitted. "I was in my dream flying and then I came crashing through this realm full of random doors. I opened one of them and I landed right here."
"That is weird," Party Favor said.
"Tell me about it," Feather agreed.
"Since you're here, do you want to join me and my balloon animal friends for a tea party?" Party Favor offered.
"Nah, I'm just gonna head out and see if I can get back to my dream." Feather said as he trotted away.
"Alright, take care!" Party Favor said as he waved goodbye. As Feather continued trotting, another light flashed and blinded Feather for a brief moment.
Feather opened his eyes to see that he was back in the door realm. He trotted pass the doors until he stopped in front of another random door. Feather hoped that the next one either takes him back to his dream or a dream that was less weird than Party Favor's. Feather turned the door knob and light shined from inside.
Feather opened his eyes to see that he had entered what appeared to be a backstage to a theater. A lot of ponies were scrambling while doing certain things such as moving some stage equipment or carrying trays of drinks.
"The next show will start in five minutes!" A mare holding a clipboard said to the ponies.
'What show?' Feather thought before he heard the sounds of cheering from the other side of the curtains. Feather sneaked his way pass the stage ponies until he reached the backstage's opening. He looked out to see that there was some kind of concert going on as there was a lot of colorful lights flashing, loud music exploding from the speakers, and a huge crowd of screaming mares on the other side of the stage. 'What kind of show is this?' Feather thought before he heard a voice from the loud speakers.
"Mares and gentlecolts," The voice said from the speakers. "It's time for the mane event! Put your hooves together to the pop-pony sensation: Feather Bangs!" The crowd of mares screamed as smoke fog began to appeared. A hatch was opening at the center of the stage and raising from the stage's center was another Feather Bangs wearing a purple hoodie and a cap. Feather was completely shocked to see a doppleganger of himself performing for this concert.
The other Feather pulled out a microphone and spoke through it. "Hello Equestria! Are you ready to me, tonight?" The crowd of mares responded with a loud cry, indicating that they were so ready for the other Feather. "That's all I need to hear! Hit it!" Music began to play and the other Feather started singing.

When the song was over, the crowd cheered as the other Feather did well for the first song. "Thank you! Thank You!" The other Feather said as he bowed. "Here's a song dedicated to a special mare who is close to my heart." The lights dimmed and a single spotlight shined on the other Feather.
All my life, I go through the same...old things.
I sing song after song, but my heart still stings.
It wants...to be loved, but I couldn't find that cure!
But that wasn't until...I finally found her!
The other Feather pointed in the crowd and another spotlight flashed. It was on a light red earth pony mare with brown manes. Feather could easily recognize the mare as Swoon Song since he had often seen her around the old village. Swoon had her hooves on her cheeks in response to being on the spotlight.
Swoooon Soooong! I yearn for your touch!
That's I want and nothing much!
The other Feather began to trot closer to Swoon and she was moving closer to the other Feather. Swoon couldn't help but shed some tears as the colt she admired was singing specifically to her.
You are all I want
no matter how hard things may be.
As long as we're together,
our happiness will last for eternity!
Feather was still standing at the stage's opening and he couldn't help but feel touched to see such a romantic thing. He decided to lean nearby since he was getting tired of standing while watching. Little did Feather knew, he was leaning on one of the control panels to the stage. Feather's arm pressed a button and one of the sandbags fell to the ground. Next thing anypony knew, one of the columns fell to the ground and everypony began to panic as fire began to appear. The other Feather and Swoon got separated as the crowd pushed them away from each other.
"Uh oh," Feather said as he slowly trotted backwards before he made a gallop to the emergency exit.
Feather exited the door and slammed it shut with his back. He could feel his heart still beating from the adrenaline. A part of Feather felt sort of bad for causing such a disaster to Swoon's dream.
'Swoon will probably think that it was just a nightmare.' Feather thought. He went up to another door in hopes that it could lead him back to his dream. He turned the knob and a light flashed again.
The next door took Feather to an open grassy field with clear, blue skies. Feather also noticed there was a wedding taking place right in front of him. Ponies sat on some chairs while watching a bride and a groom looking at each other while the priest was speaking. Feather did a double take as he could've sworn that the groom looked exactly like himself.
'Another pony is dreaming about me?' Feather thought as he continued to watch the wedding.
"Would the groom unveil the bride, please?" The priest requested to the other Feather. The other Feather nodded as he moved the veil up to reveal who was the bride. The bride was a purple pegasus mare with light blue manes. Feather was in shock as he could easily recognize the mare as she was also from Starlight's old village.
"Fond Feather?!" Feather shouted in disbelief. His shout caught the attention of everypony in the wedding and they were surprised to see another Feather Bangs.
"H-how can there be two Feather Bangs?!" Fond questioned.
"It isn't possible, my love!" The other Feather said as he stood in front of Fond. "That Feather Bangs is obviously an imposter! But not to worry," The other Feather used his hooves to pull out a large sword out of nowhere. "I'll dispose of this faker!"
'Where did that sword come from?!" Feather thought before he quickly jumped away to avoid getting sliced by the other Feather.
"Come back here, you coward!" The other Feather yelled. "I won't let you ruin my love's most important day!" The other Feather began to chase Feather towards the banquet area. Feather quickly dodged every swing from the other Feather's sword. Even though Feather avoided getting hit, the other Feather's sword still sliced most of the tables, wedding presents, and foods that were in the way. The other Feather was about to strike Feather until Feather blocked the sword's attack with a fruit kebob he was able to grab.
"En garde!" Feather said before he clashed his fruit skewer with the other Feather's sword. Both Feathers began clash each other with their weapons.
"Two Feathers fighting each other for me?" Fond said while fanning herself with her hoof. "Somepony pinch me!" Fond fainted. Luckily, one of the bride maids was able to grab Fond before she fell to the ground.
"You see that! You made my bride faint from causing so much trouble!" The other Feather claimed while still swinging his sword.
"How was that my fault?!" Feather questioned before his fruit kebab was knocked away by the other Feather's sword.
"Ha ha!" The other Feather laughed in victory. "Looks like this match has tipped in my favor!" The other Feather thrust his sword towards Feather. Before Feather was about to get pierced by the sword, he was able to jump to the side and avoid getting hit. The sword ended up stabbing what looked like one of the fireworks that were supposed to launch after the other Feather and Fond made their vows.
"Uh oh," The other Feather said before the fireworks exploded. From the explosion, Feather hollered as he was flew through the air and vanished.
Fond's door opened and Feather skidded on the floor. Feather slowly got up and dusted the ashes off of himself.
'Great, I just flew out of another dream.' Feather thought while dusting himself off. He then trotted away to the next door.
'For once, I hope that the next dream won't involve another me.' Feather thought as he entered the next door.
A few seconds passed before the door opened and Feather quickly ran out of it. He slammed the door and collapsed on the floor. Feather's cheeks were flushed and Feather was sweating more than usual.
"I can't believe Dear would dream about doing such a thing to me!" Feather said to himself. He recalled that the mare he was mentioning was Dear Darling as he recognized her as a light green unicorn mare with blonde manes. Feather also remembered from Dear’s dream that it also involved another him just like the two previous dreams. But Feather was lost for words from what Dear and the other Feather were doing in her dream. "I'll just pretend that didn't happen." Feather said as he moved on to another door and entered it.
Feather took a few steps before he was falling through a cloud-filled, light blue sky. He screamed in panic as he wasn’t able to fly. As Feather continued to fall and scream, he began to hear a stallion’s cry of excitement. Feather then noticed that a stallion riding a purple board was falling towards him. Feather could easily recognize the stallion as Double Diamond as he was the only white stallion with pure white manes Feather has ever known. Double Diamond was also wearing a purple helmet and some goggles.
“Yahoo!” Double Diamond hollered as he flew his board towards Feather. “Yo, Feather! What brings you here?” Double Diamond asked.
“You know, just panicking as I might fall to my doom!” Feather yelled in response.
“Bummer!” Double Diamond said. “I’m trying out skydiving and it’s exhilarating! All I have to do is fall towards that big target on the ground!” Double pointed to the ground which has a massive red and white target on it.
“This seems dangerous!” Feather said with concern.
“It’s not so bad as long as you’re wearing a parachute!” Double Diamond said while pointing his back which had a parachute pack on it.
“Can I borrow yours?” Feather asked.
“This is a dream, isn’t it?” Double Diamond questioned. “Can’t you dream yourself wearing one?”
“I can try.” Feather said as he tried to think of wearing a parachute. A light flashed and Feather was wearing a pair of rubber, red boots.
“Those are a pair of boots, Feather! Parachute!” Double Diamond yelled. Feather tried to concentrate more on wearing a parachute. Another light flashed and Feather ended up wearing a pair of parachute pants.
“Not parachute pants, Feather! Para-“ Before Double Diamond could finish his sentence, he ended up splashing in a truck full of cow manure. Double Diamond’s parachute shot out and it immediately deflated. “medic,” Double Diamond finished. Feather ended up crashing into solid ground. This left a huge hole in shape of Feather.
Feather got shot out from the door once again and landed on the floor. He got up while trying to slowly regain consciousness.
“Well, at least I’m still alive.” Feather said to himself. He looked around to see that the long rows of doors haven’t changed sense he had left. “I wonder how long until I can find my way back.” Feather said with worry. He opened another door and hoped that it can lead him back to his dream.
Feather was once again falling towards the ground. He noticed that the scenery was different as the sky was dark due to it being covered with dark clouds. Learning from the last dream, Feather concentrated hard enough until a pair of wings appeared on his back. Feather flapped his wings hard enough until he was able to fly in air. He sighed in relief that he wasn’t going to be a splattered mess when he reached the ground. Feather observed his surroundings to see if anything else was in the dream. He panicked when he spotted a large tornado swirling around towards him.
“Uh oh!” Feather cried before he turned and attempted to fly away. Unfortunately, the tornado’s winds were so strong that it was pulling Feather back. Feather tried his best to flap his wings, but he was dragged closer towards the tornado. Just before Feather was about to let the tornado suck him in, a pony flew towards between Feather and the tornado. The pony gave a strong kick to the tornado and it was pushed back from Feather. Feather turned to see that the pony who saved him was a dark blue, pegasus mare with slick-back white manes. Feather could easily recognize this mare as Night Glider as he had also seen her around Starlight’s old village.
“It’s a good thing I saved you from that twister!” Night Glider claimed. “Otherwise, you would’ve been spinning like crazy!”
“I appreciate that!” Feather responded.
“Actually, I could use your help!” Night Glider said. “I’ve been trying to take this tornado down for a while and nothing seems to work. You can help me since you’re currently a pegasus.”
Feather took a look at his wings before he spoke. “I guess I could help you.”
“Perfect, just follow my lead and you will be fine.” Night Glider said as she and Feather approached the tornado that was still spinning. “Alright, let’s go!” Night Glider yelled before she flew straight at the tornado. Feather quickly followed in pursuit and he hoped that Night Glider thought her plan through. When both of the ponies were close enough to the tornado, they began to fly around the tornado to prevent it from moving. Feather had some difficulties as he wasn’t very experienced with flying. Night Glider was doing better while she continued to fly around the tornado without tiring out. The tornado’s winds were blowing so hard that it started to push back Feather and Night Glider a bit. “Keep going!” Night Glider hollered. She pulled something out of nowhere and threw it at Feather. Feather caught the flying object that was actually a glass jar. “Just open the jar and hold it out! I’ll take care of the rest!” Night Glider explained. Before Feather could ask any questions, Night Glider started flying with more speed and she was making the tornado spin more rapidly. The tornado began to grow thin much to Feather’s surprise. Just as the tornado was moving towards Feather, he remembered Night Glider’s instructions and he quickly opened the jar. The tornado started to get suck into the jar while shrinking down to a small size. Night Glider was able to get out of the tornado just before the tornado was completely in the jar. Feather quickly put the jar’s lid back on and the winds suddenly stopped. Night Glider was breathing heavily as she was completely exhausted from all of her flying. “We did it,” Night Glider whispered. “We actually did it!” Night Glider said while pumping her hooves in the air. Feather placed the jar under his armpit and used both of his hooves to shake one of Night Glider’s.
“Congratulations for your win, Night.” Feather said. The jar started to slide from under Feather’s armpit. Night Glider panicked as she noticed this.
“Feather, the jar!” Night Glider yelled. It was too late. The jar fell to the ground and it shattered. This caused the tornado to be released from its’ glass prison. It expanded and winds blew once again. Feather and Night Glider were caught by the tornado’s currents. Both of the ponies cried in panic as they were thrown everywhere by the tornado. Feather was then once again thrown through the air.
Feather crashed out of Night Glider's dream door. He got back up at an instant due to being so used to smashing through dream doors.
‘This is hopeless!’ Feather thought in frustration. ‘It will take a million years before I find my way back to my dream!’ Feather’s thoughts were interrupted when he heard something from behind him. He turned to see that there wasn’t anypony around in the door whelm. Feather turned back and tried to figure out which door he should enter. A large shadow overlapped Feather and it made him shiver. Feather turned again to only see a dark, tall figure standing behind him.
“Eeee!” Feather screamed and started running for his life. He didn’t know that there was anything else in the whelm beside entrances to dreams. Feather ran without looking back as he feared that the shadowy figure would be gaining on him. Feather accidentally tripped on one of his hooves and he fell to the ground. He turned to see that the dark shadow was face to face with him. Feather cowered in fear as he thought it was the end for him. A light flashed from the shadow and it transformed. Feather took a look to see that the shadow changed into a tall, dark blue alicorn mare with dark blue, wavy manes. Feather easily recognized the mare as none other than Princess Luna, the princess of the night. “P-Princess Luna?” Feather said.
“Greetings, Feather Bangs.” Princess Luna responded.
“Y-You know my name,” Feather said in surprise.
“When one can enter dreams, one is able to know the names of those who make the dreams.” Princess Luna explained. “I have been searching for you when I noticed that you were not in your dream.”
“Yeah, I accidentally got shot out of there and I’ve been trying to find my way back ever since.” Feather said while rubbing the back of his manes.
“Reentering your dream is not as easy as it sounds, young Feather Bangs.” Princess Luna said. “This whelm leads to all sorts of dreams and entering another’s dream can mean disaster.”
“I’m sorry, Princess Luna.” Feather said while bowing. Feather’s chin was lifted by Princess Luna as she gave him a smile.
“There is nothing to worry about. I will take you back to your dream.” Princess Luna said before she lit up her horn. The doors were moved until they stopped at the shattered door that Feather first came out of. Princess Luna levitated the door pieces and reassembled them to create a whole new door. It opened with a light shining from the other side. “Off you go now,” Princess Luna said.
“Thank you, Princess Luna.” Feather said before he slowly entered the door. He looked to see nothing but his bed that he usually slept in.
‘I guess going to sleep is how I’ll wake up.’ Feather thought as he entered his bed. “Man, what a night.” Feather said to himself before he began to sleep. His slumber was interrupted when he heard some ponies talking. Feather opened his eyes to see that the heads of Double Diamond, Party Favor, Night Glider, Swoon Song, Fond Feather, and Dear Darling floated around Feather while saying his name.
“W-what do you want from me? Leave me alone!” Feather said in fear. The ponies’ heads kept spinning and saying his name until Feather started screaming.
Feather finally woke up from his dream to see Double Diamond, Party Favor, Night Glider, Swoon Song, Fond Feather, and Dear Darling standing all around his bed. Some of the ponies showed some angry looks at Feather. “W-what are you guys doing in my house?” Feather asked. “Is this a slumber party?”
“No, Feather, this isn’t a slumber party.” Double Diamond replied.
“Do us all a favor Feather and stay out of our dreams!” Night Glider demanded.
“Although, I didn’t mind you entering my dreams, Feather.” Dear Darling said in a flirty tone. This made the other ponies look at Dear with confusion. Feather only blushed as he remembered what he saw in Dear’s dream.
