The pair were currently hiking through the valley, with the female of the two taking a moment to peer down at a piece of paper in her hands. "Still can’t believe this is the kind of job we agreed to take."

The Knight turned her attention back to their target and shuddered a little.
Ever since she and her brother took on the role as Knights, they’d been tasked with slaying or capturing their fair share of dangerous monsters. Rampaging Manticores, deceitful Goblins & Trolls, they'd even gone up against a Wyvern or two. All done without complaint and without issue. However, this latest job came with the promise of a massive reward, even more so than any of their previous jobs. Not just for capturing this particular Succubus, but also for helping test out a new variant of the Knight's armor.
Crafted by none other than her old friend Rarity, this particular armor was made from unique metals that were infused with special Chastity Runes, designed specifically to counter nearly any dark spells these Demons would utilize against them.
That was pretty much one of only reasons they even agreed to this assignment, as Succubi were far more crafty and resourceful compared to the relatively mindless beasts they’d fought previously.
The other reason was that if they pulled this off, there was a high chance that they'd be promoted to the rank of Paladin Mage!
That incentive alone caused them to jump at the opportunity, even with the risks involved.
"Ah think yer just worrying 'cause this ain’t a mission where yah can just kick down the target and call it a day." Her brother chimed in as they made their way across a wooden bridge, Applejack could practically sense his smug smirk under that helmet.
"I’m surprised yah ain’t worrying considering Succubi are supposed to be all about seducing men… and Ah'm the one with the armor." Applejack replied as she glanced at her brother with a coy smile. "Course, given yer track record with the ladies, maybe she’ll figure it’s a lost cause and move on."

Applejack rolled her eyes at her brother’s simple response as the pair continued to hike for a few more minutes before finally clearing the woods and looking up at the many rocky hills before them. Having arrived at their destination, the young Knight couldn’t help but look down at the armor adorning her body, her main form of defense against their target… while remembering how things had gotten to this point.

"And yer absolutely sure this here armor is gonna protect me?" Applejack asked with a tone of uncertainty as she carefully fastened her shoulder armor.
Before her was none-other than one of the Paladin Mages and her old friend; Rarity Belle, who was currently doing some last-minute inspections and this newest variant of armor. "Darling, when have I ever steered you wrong?"

"But yes, I guarantee you this armor should be 100% resistant to any and all corruptive forms of magic, so you should have nothing to fear from whatever that Succubus tries."
Applejack flinched a little at the last adjustment before giving the armor a look over. It certainly looked high quality, nice and polished, sturdy detail, all around effective looking armor. "Well, it certainly looks sharp… and you ain't one to skim the details when it comes to quality, Rarity."
"Naturally, I dare say it's my finest work yet! Guaranteed to keep you safe on your mission." The Paladin proudly proclaimed.
"I should certainly hope so." Both girls looked in the direction, finding Big Mac along with another Knight approaching. This one in particular wore armor similar to their own, but was deep blue white highlights with the insignia over the chest area being a purple shield with a pink, six-pointed star at its center and three blue stars above it.
"C-Captain' Shining Armor!" Applejack exclaimed, almost immediately saluting the Knight in question.
Shining Armor returned the salute before casually removing his helmet, revealing his blue eyes, white skin, and slightly unruly hair which had three stripes in various shades of blue. "While the armor certainly looks promising, I do apologize for putting this particular mission on you and your brothers shoulders alone. Sadly with the massive influx of monsters from the Everfree Forest our forces are spread thin."
"Ain’t nothing to apologize for Sir. We knew what the mission was when we took it and we’ll complete it come heck or high water." She replied in a respectful tone, never once faltering in her demeanor. "Right Mac?"
"Eeeyup."
His typical one word answer earned a chuckle from their superior. "Well rest assured you’ll be richly rewarded once the mission is completed. However, I need to stress we want Twi-I mean, Midnight Sparkle alive, understood?" He added, his tone going from slightly jovial to serious as he put his helmet back on.
Applejack found her eyes drifting to the wanted poster of the target, with a minor feeling of unease coming over her at the mention of "alive", but she shook it off. "Yah have our word Captain, we’ll bring her back no matter what."
"We’re here."
Her brother’s words snapped her out of her thoughts and she looked up to find a cave, the last known location of Midnight Sparkle. The pair quickly drew their weapons as they approached the mouth of the cave.

Nodding, the two entered the cave, quickly finding the inside illuminated with various torches on the walls, confirming someone had taken up residence here. They didn’t need to walk long as they heard what sounded like two people speaking.
"So, did you find what I asked for?" A deep yet somewhat alluring female voice asked.
"Absolutely, it was SUPER hard to get, so be really careful." A more peppy voice replied.
Stopping just at the entrance to where the voices were coming from, Applejack leaned past the wall just enough to see who was talking.
Her eyes widened behind her helmet at the sight before her.
Standing not too far away from the entrance were two female individuals, though even a glance could easily indicate they weren’t human.
One was a young looking girl with light blue skin and cyan blue hair with navy blue highlights in a ponytail. Her purple eyes contrasted her skin, which was heavily exposed by her outfit or lack thereof, only being clad in a purple, bikini like thong, a small pearl necklace with a musical note charm, and some kind of shell arm and ankle bands. Otherwise her body was completely nude from her exposed breasts right down to her bare feet. Though that wasn’t what was most eye-catching. And judging by the darker section of the lake it was clear that there was an underwater tunnel as well, no doubt one that the Siren would use to navigate to a river leading back to the sea.
Turning her attention back to the Siren in question, she soon got a better look at the other occupant present, the very one she and Big Mac had been dispatched to find.

Out of all the artifacts that her Mentor/Mistress Sunset had taught her about, this was by far the most impressive. A unique mirror that-with the right amount of magic-allowed passage to a completely separate dimension, crafted by the great Mage Starswirl himself.
Of course, such a unique artifact was not without its flaws. The necessities required to bring forth the artifact to potential required an immense amount of Lunar Magic… a type of elemental Magic that could only be gathered from two sources, one being during a ritual where the moon was full…and the other being a certain ingredient that the Siren had provided her with.
Pulling the bottle of Mermaid Tears out from her cleavage, she carefully uncorked it and levitated out a single droplet before closing it once more. One of the main reasons mermaid tears were so coveted was the fact that they contained concentrated Lunar Magic in its purest form, and utilizing it in spells required high risks since it tended to evaporate within seconds outside of the ocean, and acquiring even a small amount of the substance was extremely challenging.
"Careful… careful… don't let it dry up…" She whispered to herself, her body tensing up ever so slightly as she levitated the droplet up to the surface of the mirror. The moment it made contact the liquid was immediately absorbed into the surface, ripples spreading across the surface as if it were a small pond that a stone had been tossed into.

"Is someone there!?" A new, distinctly male voice called out. "Please help! Get me outta here!!"
The moment her vision cleared up, Applejack was treated to the sight of a young man with tan skin, green eyes, and shoulder-length hair, his hands bound in shackles with the chains connecting them held up by a third, more rusty chain hanging from the ceiling.

Watching from above, Midnight casually summoned a notebook and a pen, carefully writing down the details of this new development. "However the exact dimension seems to be less precise, as it appears to have called forth a counterpart of the opposite gender. Though whether that is always the case remains to be seen."
