Ten years ago the planet Equulei Prime was invaded and an alien force called the Planetary Union. The Union being composed of human beings and a race of anthropomorphic beings called Pokemorphs invaded when ordered by the President of the Union, Alson H. Burry. The ponies and other races of Equulei Prime should’ve lost due to the Union’s advanced technology. However using magical technology, the United Equestrian Federation edged out a win. Signing a peace treaty dissolved the Federation, and Equulei Prime joined the Union. All after the assassination of President Burry.
There was finally an everlasting peace of friendship and harmony throughout the galaxy. Medical technology has advanced with the sudden rise of the Pulsar Corporation. A pharmaceutical corporation that suddenly experienced a massive boom in business, due to new types of medicines being developed. On the month of July 28, 198 Union Era… An incident has taken place aboard the research ship, Ascension. Currently Union military has chosen it’s two most elite task forces, Task Force Frostbite, and Task Force Sunburn, to investigate what happened onboard the Ascension.
Chapter 1: Preparations
The ECS Buster, a Cloudsdale class starship from Equulei Prime, is like living inside a space colony. In fact the Buster is a mobile colony for ponies. Inside is the standard police department, though this police department has an elite task force called STATS, or the Special Tactics and Anti-Terrorism Services. At first everything was normal. However later in the day a distress signal from a nearby derelict ship belonging to the Union. The USV Ascension, who lost contact with Union officials not too long ago. Captain Onyx Heart, a reformed changeling in the disguise of a black Earth Pony with orange eyes and red hair enters the BSD’s communications room, when word of the signal was received.
“What is it?” Onyx asked the dark blue/black unicorn stallion, named Shadow Wizard.
“Listen…” Shadow Wizard said, as he put the call on speaker.
“This is Artemis Solaris of Task Force Frostbite! If anyone is receiving this message, then we really need your help!”
“Can you tell when that distress call was sent out?” Onyx asked. Shadow checked the data of the distress call.
“It was about an hour ago! The Ascension wasn’t near the transmission range at the time of transmission.”
“So we have a derelict ship that has been wandering through space for over an hour, and we’re just now receiving this one distress call?”
“Pretty much…” Shadow said.
“Assemble the team! I’ll go report to the Chief!” Onyx said.
“On it!”
“So we received a distress call from Task Force Frostbite?” Chief of the BSD, Iron Hoof said. Despite his name, he doesn’t rule over his officers with an “iron hoof”.
“That is right Chief, from Artemis Solaris of Task Force Frostbite.” Onyx said.
“Artemis? Wasn’t she…?”
“Yes Chief! She was with my team during the final push towards Burry’s ‘White House’, in the final stage of the war.”
“Alright STATS can investigate and rescue any survivors.” Iron Hoof said, “Just be careful.”
As Onyx went to brief his team on the situation. A sky blue reformed Changeling named Sky Heart, was sitting in Applejack’s Bar and Grill, after his shift with the BSD. Sky Heart is a rookie officer with the Buster Security Department. The bar is only named after Applejack, it’s not owned by Applejack herself. Though a member of the Apple Family does run it.
“Another Zap Apple Cider, Apple Snack!” Sky ordered.
“Coming right up Sky!” said the Earth pony with an apple chips cutie mark. The pony then fills a glass full of a rainbow colored cider with foam on top of the glass and slid it down to Sky Heart. Sky, meanwhile, takes a sip of his cider and watches the colony’s news broadcast.
In today’s top story the Pulsar Corporation has come aboard to give vaccines to the ponies of this colony.” the new anchor said, “However supplies are limited. So it’s first come, first serve.”
“Vaccines, huh?” Sky muttered to himself, “I didn’t know there was a new disease going around…”
The entire STATS team has gathered in the briefing room, Where all BSD officers receive their daily assignments.
Gathered were Alpha and Bravo Squads. On Alpha Squad was Shadow Wizard, Romance Writer the field medic, Sonic the pilot and sharpshooter, and Danger close combat expert/weapons expert for Alpha Squad.
Romance Writer is a green unicorn mare with brown eyes and brown hair. Shadow Wizard is a unicorn stallion with a dark blue coat, and black hair. Sonic is a white pegasus stallion with blue hair. Finally Danger is an orange dragon/pony hybrid with black hair.
“Okay everyone! About a few minutes ago we received a distress transmission from the derelict USV Ascension!” Onyx said aloud, “It seems that the Union sent a team or two to investigate and they ran into some trouble. Alpha and Bravo Squads are to see what went wrong and provide back up. I can’t express how SNAFU this situation is. So let’s get there and find out what is happening!”
Onyx then brings up a map on a large TV screen and the lights dimmed. The map is of the Ascension.
“Bravo team will enter first, and confirm if there is any power on. If not they’ll make their way to the engine room, a restore power, gravity, life support systems. Basically anything we need activated. At the same time Alpha team will enter and make our way to the bridge. There we will find the Black Box and see what exactly happened. Then…”
Onyx points to the center of the Ascension, which has the cafeteria and recreation rooms, while also the hallways leading to the many barracks and personnel rooms. “...We will regroup in the center of the ship. From there both teams begin their search for any survivors, that does include members of both Task Force Sunburn and Task Force Frostbite.”
The lights turned on and the screen retracted into the ceiling.
“That is all for the briefing! Get ready! Wheels up in thirty! Dismissed!”
Both sqauds of the STATS team went to the Armory for their gear and weapons. Then they trotted to the hangar where two small ships were waiting and powered up.
“Alright! FALL IN!” Onyx ordered, and the two squads climbed aboard. Then both shuttles lifted off the floor and out the hangar doors.
Author's Note
Okay a bit of an explanation is order first. First off this is a MLP/Pokemon/Resident Evil cross over. Secondly about the bio hazard threat. It's not really viral, but parasitic like Las Plagas. The only thing about this parasite it's host can spread it any living organism, and turn it spread through that way. It is also alien, and no there are NO ZOMBIES is this story. They're just called infected. More information on the Infected will be later on in this story. Just replace the zombies with more advanced bio weapons that Umbrella made, like the Lickers and Hunters.
Lastly I've made several references to author Buster Buizel. Such as the main antagonist from his Starbound Ascension: Next Generation story. In fact this story has more inspiration from that story, such as the Planetary Union and the war between the Rebellion and the Loyalists. The space colony is even named after Buster's OC, Sky Buster.
So if this ever shown to Buster. He should know that this is my own established universe, with it's own history. I also don't know if he ever placed reformed changelings into SATNG. Did you Buster?
