Twilight Sparkle First Person P.O.V. chapter incoming.
Prologue: The Beginning
My name is Twilight Sparkle. I am the Queen of Shadows. It's funny to call myself that you know? I didn't always have this title.
Currently, I am married to Sombra, the King of Shadows. Right now we are expecting a foal on the way. Hmm? What's that your asking?
Oh, you want to know why I'm married to Sombra of all characters, am I right? It's a long story. I hope your sitting down. This is going to take a while to explain.
So let me start off by catching you up to speed: I used to be a unicorn that lived in Canterlot and I was Celestia's student. One day I read about Nightmare Moon and about the elements of Harmony.
Celestia sent me to Ponyville to make friends, which I did, and with their help, we purified Nightmare Moon and helped her return to Luna. After that, I started hanging out with my new friends as much as I could. That included Applejack who is a farmer, Pinkie Pie who just loves parties, Rarity who is a fashionista of sorts, Fluttershy who loves taking care of animals, and Rainbow Dash who dreams of becoming a Wonderbolt someday. All of them have become such good friends to me over time.
At one point, we had to deal with the being of chaos himself, Discord. And we managed to defeat him after strengthening our bounds with one another. Of course at one point there was the wedding of Shining Armor and Princess Cadence. Which also lead to the defeat of Queen Chrysalis. Long story there, though my brother and Cadence defeated Chrysalis and her changelings with the power of love in the end.
A few weeks later, the Crystal Empire returned, and thus me and my friends were to assist my Brother and Cadence in restoring the Crystal Empire and defeat the tyrant King Sombra. Yes the same King Sombra who became my husband.
So you may be asking, if I'm still here, and Sombra is still here, then which side won? See the thing about that is, no one really won anything. Because just as Cadence and Sombra dove for the crystal heart...
The crystal heart...was stolen by a third party...
Which brings me to the true beginning of my tale.
This is my tale, this is the tale of how I; Twilight Sparkle; became the Queen of Shadows and married Sombra.

Season 1: Episode 1 - Past & Present Part 1
Twilight's P.O.V.
I awoke to see my cage open by that tyrant King Sombra. Only, he seemed different then when he imprisoned me. Almost looking at me in sympathy.
"...How very strange..." He said as he brought me out. "I took a look through your memories while you slept and saw what you saw from that door I installed. The door in question is meant to show you your worst fear and yet..." He said before checking me over. "It seems your greatest fear is Celestia disowning you as her student. Nothing more. Most would see their friends and their family betray them and yet you are different. I find this fact fascinating." Sombra continued.
"Why are you letting me out?" I asked him.
"Because while me and that sister in law of yours reached for the crystal heart, suddenly a mysterious shadow came out of nowhere and snatched the heart. The thing hasn't been seen since. So for the time being, a cease fire has been called." King Sombra said. "So long as the princesses, your friends, or your brother, don't attack the crystal empire until the heart has been found then I am perfectly fine with any of them visiting you here." He said. "And that also, you get to live too. I suppose keeping myself relegated to the Crystal Empire was a nice bonus." King Sombra added before he removed the dark crystals from my horn. "Besides, you fascinate me. You were able to effortlessly use Dark Magic as if it was nothing, and what's more, your soul remains pure. Normally, one would find their soul being eaten alive by the dark magic, yet for you, not even a single dent in your soul has been made." King Sombra said.
"What's your point King Sombra? And why are you being nice?" I asked.
"Simply put, I don't want to see you grieve. That, and I'm wondering just how skilled you are at wielding magic. Specifically the same magic I've used this entire time." King Sombra said.
"Grieve? What do you know about grieving?" I asked.
"I know more then you think. The Princess were right about one thing: I am a tyrant. But I act like one towards those crystal ponies out of necessity. I don't want what happened in my past to happen to anyone else." King Sombra said.
"Well...since we'll be here for a while...I want to know about what happened to you. If you don't mind that is." I said. This would be a rare opportunity for me.
"I suppose I could tell you, but only if you swear to not tell another soul." King Sombra said.
"Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." I said, going through the motions of a Pinkie Pie Promise. Seeing the confused look on King Sombra's face, I decided to explain. "Um...it's a thing one of my friends made. It's called a Pinkie Pie Promise. And Pinkie Pie is very religious about upholding one. I suppose you could call it our version of a swear. Only we make sure we uphold these swears because Pinkie Pie will get upset about it every way to Sunday." I explained.
"It seems I am going to need to learn about your past just as much as you are wanting to learn of mine." King Sombra said.
"Yeah." I said.
"But for now, I will explain myself." King Sombra said.
Sombra's Flashback - Sombra's P.O.V.
Believe it or not, I am a hybrid: a cross between a normal pony and an Umbrum. A fact that caused me to become senselessly bullied as a child. A scene showing a young child Sombra being bullied in various ways
Throughout my childhood, I was starting to grow bitter and filled with hate; wanting to take my anger out on all the various ponies. That is...until she approached me. A teenage Sombra is shown being picked on before being approached by a single mare
Her name was Radiant Hope. And I'll be the first to admit, it was love at first sight. And to her, it did not matter what I was in blood, because she admitted that she thought that gave me individuality to a degree no other pony could ever claim. That's Right. Radiant Hope saw not the surface but instead what lied within. She wanted to like me for me. And admittedly, I let her. Mostly because she was so easy to hang out with, no matter who decided to reticule me or her. Teenage Sombra is shown playing with Radiant Hope in various activities
I was on top of the world but then... Radiant Hope is suddenly shown tied to a wooden stake the ponies decided that enough was enough and that they needed to send a message: Hybrids would never be accepted in society. So, to send a warning to all those who dare grow close to hybrids, the townsfolk decided to do the unthinkable: They decided to execute Radiant Dawn by burning her at the stake. The wooden Stake is suddenly caught on fire and Radiant Hope is burnt beyond recognition
However no one know that killing Radiant Hope would allow all my anger to come out in full force. It was from that point forward I decided to become a tyrant, not for the sake of ruling a kingdom, but rather for the sake of making sure no one; and I mean no one; ever suffered through the kind of grief I've suffered.
Present Day - Twilight's P.O.V.
"And that is why I became the tyrant I am today. All to make sure no one can ever go through what I've went through. Sure, I make it look like I rule through fear, but my motivation is grief; grief powerful enough to push me to that sort of extreme." Sombra said.
"Ironically, I can relate. Once, back when I was writing weekly friendship letters to Princess Celestia, one week I had come to the realization that I had yet to learn anything new in regards to friendship so I ended up trying to cause a friendship problem to solve. Didn't really work out so well. Thankfully, with some help from my friends, I was able to get out of that situation with Celestia before she could force me back to Canterlot." I said. "So yeah, I suppose one can say I've tried taking something to the extreme before this." I added. Sombra was shocked.
"Interesting...this explains why your fear was limited to Princess Celestia disowning you as her student: That incident made you realize that no matter what, your friends will always stick by your side even in your darkest hour." Sombra said. "I think I understand what has made you so special. Still, you owe me an explanation of your own past." He added. "I don't think I've gotten your name though." Sombra pointed out.
"It's Twilight Sparkle." I said. "But if you want, you can just call me Twilight..." I added. Sombra smiled.
"Then I suppose you can just call me Sombra when we're not in public." Sombra said.
It was a small bit of progress, but I could already see the stallion underneath the monstrous façade Sombra put up for so long. This time, there wouldn't be any execution to stop me from growing close to Sombra. Maybe; just maybe; if I can warm my way into his heart, he will stop being evil. Celestia would be no doubt proud of me.

If only I had realized back then just how far my actions would go to that end.

Season 1: Episode 2 - Past & Present Part 2
Twilight's P.O.V.
After finishing telling Sombra everything about myself from when I was born to present day, I expected his expression to change. Mostly, he just remained stoic throughout.
"...I am glad that you are letting my friends see me." I said. "So, am I like a hostage?" I asked.
"In one way, yes. Yes you are. But I want to train you in Dark Magic. Your ability to use it without sacrificing what makes you, you is of great interest to me." Sombra said. "But we can focus on that another time. Aren't you hungry?" He asked. Suddenly my belly growled at me, reminding me that I yet to really eat anything.
"Food sounds good..." I said with a sheepish smile.
Ironically Sombra managed to whip up a Hayburger for me to eat. Which was nice. Over the course of the meal, I decided to admit something.
"You know Sombra, Radiant Hope was right about one thing: You shouldn't have been treated the way you were." I said. This took Sombra by surprise.
"Your not upset that I'm a hybrid?" Sombra asked. I shook my head no.
"Not even for a second. Even then, it's a part of what makes you, you. And I wouldn't dare want that to change about you." I said. Suddenly I blushed. "Oh...oh my..." I said and shook my head. "My apologies...that came out as if I was flirting with you. It's a bit too soon for anything like that. Way too soon." I said. Sombra couldn't help but agree.
"Perhaps it's fate then. In some ways, you remind me of Radiant Hope: Kind, caring, and very open to new things." Sombra said. He suddenly chuckled. "You know, it'd be funny if by some miracle, that you; Twilight Sparkle; were a reincarnation of Radiant Hope. It'd be as if fate would be giving us another chance." He said. I couldn't help but join in on the laughter.
"That would be funny, but at the same time, I wouldn't mind if that was the case. I don't know if Reincarnation is even a thing, but I do know one thing for certain: Let's say that I am Radiant Hope reincarnated and don't even realize that yet; what's to stop me from getting to know you on my terms anyways?" I asked, smiling.
"Nothing. Except someone breaking the ceasefire." Sombra said. "That cyan Pegasus friend of yours...she was not too keen on letting you stay here." He added.
"Then maybe it'd be best if she and she alone came over so that I could have a one on one chat with her." I said with a smile.
"That would be for the best." Sombra said.
Well it was quite literally the next day when Rainbow Dash was informed that I wanted to see her for a one on one chat.
"Guess the tyrant was right that you'd be well taken care off..." Rainbow Dash said, eying me. "You look no different then when I last saw you." She said.
"Listen Rainbow..." I said. "Call me crazy if you must, but I feel like there's a chance I can stop Sombra from being evil without the need of the Crystal Heart." I said.
"Twilight...are you crazy in the head?" Rainbow Dash asked me.
"He's told me some things in regards to his past you'd relate to. I Pinkie Pie Promised him I wouldn't tell anyone about it though. Suffice it to say however, there is one thing the two of you overlap in." I said and noticed Rainbow Dash going wide eyed. "Crazy, I know. But that's what's got me so sure about this. Maybe, just maybe, I can convince him to use his dark magic for the good of Equestria rather then for his own personal gains. All I need is time." Twilight said.
"Well...I trust you Twilight. I turned my back on you once. Not gonna do that again." Rainbow Dash said. "Sorry for that by the way." She added.
"You can stop saying that now..." I said with a sigh. "I've been over this already: You learnt your lesson. That's the important thing. You all did." I said. "And there's no point in dwelling on it. Am I still upset about it? A little. But I am willing to let it go." I added.
"Alright Twilight. Just promise me you won't go overboard with this okay? I don't want to see you get hurt." Rainbow Dash said.
"So long as the ceasefire exists, and no one attacks the Crystal Empire, my plan should go off without a hitch." I said. "So, I'm counting on you to let the others know that I have a plan. If it works, then we can count King Sombra amongst our ranks. Besides, if Fluttershy can convince Discord to use his chaos magic for the good of equestria, then I can do the same with Sombra." I explained.
"I called reforming Discord crazy because I thought it could never be done. But I'm not gonna lie, the dude is starting to grow on me. Celestia's managed to figure out how to do the stone spell without the elements, so he's still gotta keep himself in check." Rainbow Dash said.
"I figured she would research that as soon as she could on the off chance something happened that prevented us from using the elements for some reason." I said. "Anyways, spread the word. Save Celestia for last if you can." I added.
"Sure thing Twi. I'll be coming over for a visit with the others later on this month. Who knows? Maybe there will be some progress." Rainbow Dash said and flew off. I smiled.
"Well...there needs to exist a building block somewhere..." I said and started heading to the throne room. "And I think I may already have one in mind..." I said as I started to climb the stairs.
Sombra's P.O.V.
Why did I bring up that possibility? Could it really be that Twilight Sparkle is the reincarnation of Radiant Hope? I don't know what came over me, suggesting it seemed so natural. What's more, she is like Radiant hope in more ways then I initially thought. In fact, the only difference is that unlike Radiant Hope, Twilight has friends that support her. Maybe I'm right. Maybe in some weird way, I'm right and Twilight Sparkle is Radiant Hope reborn. If this is the case, then I can't afford to lose Twilight. Not again. Which means I will most likely need the support of her friends. And if that means I have to lower my tyrant façade around them as well...then so be it. I'm willing to make that sacrifice. Hell, I would give up being King of the Crystal Empire just to make sure I could forever be by Twilight's side and watch over her; make sure what happened to Radiant Hope doesn't happen to Twilight.

It's been a long time since I've felt that strongly towards a mare before. I thought for certain that my heart turned cold the moment Radiant Hope died. And here Twilight Sparkle is, thawing out the ice that encases my heart.
Twilight Sparkle...
Fate has drawn us together; for what reason I know not and care not.
I will do whatever I can to make sure you are never hurt. Not even emotionally if I can help it. I swear on that.
Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.
Author's Note
Already, development is coming to Sombra. Yeah this is what my big plan for redeeming King Sombra was: Doing a Twibra ship fic where King Sombra starts to realize that Twilight means more to him then he realizes.
And that feeling is only going to get stronger from here.

Season 1: Episode 3 - Building Blocks
Twilight's P.O.V.
I finished up breakfast with Sombra. We were going to be starting my training in Dark Magic today. But before we got started, I decided to lead with something.
"Hey Sombra, you should know that your not the only one I know who got bullied." I told Sombra.
"One of your friends was bullied when they were younger too? But all of them are pure ponies." Sombra said.
"Technically it was two of my friends. Though the constant target was Fluttershy; she's the yellow pegasus. She was bullied for being so timid and shy. What's more, is because Rainbow Dash defended her a lot, RD got bullied too, and a lot worse then Fluttershy did." I said. "It got to a point where RD decided to race those bullies, which is when she performed her first sonic rainboom. She performed it a second time a couple months ago at the young fliers competition to save one of my other friends and the wonderbolts. And I'm sure RD would very much relate to what happened to you. She's been there. And while she dealt with it differently, I'm sure if you wanted to grow close to her, you both have something in common." I explained.
"I'm not sure if I'm comfortable telling anyone about my past..." Sombra said.
"But it'd help. I believe that you don't have to be a tyrant to protect anyone from going through what you went through, Sombra. I'm only suggesting that you start keeping your options open." I said.
"I understand what your getting at, but is it not too late for me?" Sombra asked.
"No. It's never too late." I said. "All you have to do is make the attempt to reach out." I added with a smile.
"Very well...I will make the attempt for your friends." Sombra said. "Might as well, considering they will be the ones I'll be interacting with the most." Sombra said as he began leading me to the training area.
"Trust me Sombra, you'll do fine." I said. "You have the building blocks in place with me already. You just have to be true to yourself and who you are inside." I added.
"Stars above..." Sombra said, eyes going wide.
"What? What did I say?" I asked.
"It's...well...just now...what you said...it sounded like something Radiant Hope used to say." Sombra said. That caught my attention.
"Well like I said, even if I am Radiant Hope reincarnated, I still want to get to know you Sombra. The real you." I said, smiling.
"Again, you really are starting to sound like Radiant Hope." Sombra said.
"Is that really such a big deal?" I asked.
"To me, it is. Stars above Twilight, the more things you say, the more and more you remind me of Radiant Hope." Sombra said. "In fact, you've been making me feel things I used to only feel for her. The emotions inside of me that I've long since thought were dead are bubbling to the surface in full force." He added. "Twilight...no matter if you are Radiant Hope reincarnated or not, I promise you that I will protect you and your friends. You have my word on that." Sombra finished. I was shocked.
"That...means a lot to me. Thank you Sombra." I said. For the first time since we met, Sombra smiled at me. "...You smile great." I said, smiling back. Sombra blushed.
"Th-thank you..." He stammered.
Sombra's P.O.V.
As I began teaching Twilight Dark magic, my mind returned to our earlier conversation. I don't know why I feel the way I do around her. And why telling her such things comes so natural when I'm around her. And the more things she says, the more she reminds me of Radiant Hope. Perhaps I am right, and Twilight Sparkle is Radiant Hope reincarnated. And if that is indeed the case, then fate has given me this second chance to find true love. This time I'm strong enough to protect her. This time I won't let anyone harm her. Or her friends. I will die before I let anything happen to any of them.

If by some coincidence Twilight isn't a reincarnation of Radiant Hope, she has to be a distant descendent. I must find out more.
"Hey Twilight, how about you take a break?" I asked her.
"Sure thing Sombra." Twilight said. She was picking up the dark magic as if it was nothing. It took me three months to master my first spell, yet she had managed to master three of them in the span of a few hours.
"If you don't mind, I think I'm going to read on my break." I said. Suddenly Twilight gasped.
"Do you like to read Sombra?" She asked. Uh oh. Maybe I was wrong about her.
"Yeah. I do. Radiant Dawn's the one who got me into reading actually. She was a bit of a bookworm." I said. Suddenly Twilight hugged me.
"Oh my gosh, fellow bookworm!" Twilight said, her eyes lighting up as she squeed with joy.
"What?" I was confused.
"I love reading too. Whenever I'm not hanging out with my friends, I enjoy reading books like there's no tomorrow." Twilight said. My god her face right now is exactly how Radiant Hope looks whenever she talks about reading. "I enjoy books so much that RD calls me an Egghead just to tease me. I don't mind it though." Twilight said.

The more things I learn, the more Twilight feels like Radiant Dawn...
Which makes what I have to read all the more important...
After three hours of reading, I have made the most interesting discovery. Turns out, Radiant Hope had a brother who left the crystal empire as soon as he saw his sister tied to that wooden stake, knowing full well what would happen after. He was given equestrian citizenship after the empire vanished. From there, he had his own family tree. In fact...it was his ten times great grandaughter that struck out to me the most. Her name was Twilight Velvet.
"Twilight..." I spoke up.
"Yes Sombra?" Twilight asked.
"Didn't you tell me your mother was Twilight Velvet?" I asked.
"Yeah. What about her?" Twilight asked. Dear god...
"Well..." I showed her the book. Twilight gasped in shock.
"No way..." Twilight said. "I'm related to...Radiant Hope's Brother?!" She exclaimed.
"And by proxy...Radiant Hope herself." I said. I went over to her. "Twilight, it seems fate has decided to give me a second chance. Perhaps with you, I can make up for what happened one thousand years ago." I explained. "We don't have to marry yet, but I am curious that once we get to know one another well enough, you would consider dating me." I said.
"Yes Sombra, a hundred times yes!" Twilight exclaimed before hugging me. "I know not how, and care not how, but I feel the same. I am your second chance Sombra." She said.
Unknown P.O.V.
Watching from the Shadows, I smiled. I soon left the Crystal Palace. I took out the Crystal Heart I had snatched. "...Only a matter of time..." I said to myself once outside the Crystal Empire. "Only a matter of time to correct history...and save this world..." I said.

Season 1: Episode 4 - Ponyville Check in
Twilight's P.O.V.
As usual, I had things to talk with Sombra about after breakfast today.
"Hey Sombra, my friends will be coming to visit in a couple of weeks." I told him.
"I suppose I'll have that time to prepare for their arrival." Sombra said.
"And be sure to be nice to them this time. Especially because all five of them mean a lot to me. Spike means a lot to me too. I pratically raised him ever since I got my cutie mark." I said.
"I still find it quite the oddity that Rainbow Dash caused you and your friends to get your cutie marks at the exact same time." Sombra said. I laughed.
"Part of me wishes you were born around the same time as me and my friends so you could've seen the Sonic Rainboom the first go around. That way you would be connected to me and my friends and grow up in a much more accepting world then you did." I said. Sombra couldn't help but laugh and nod his head.
"That would be something, huh?" Sombra asked, smiling.
Rainbow Dash's P.O.V.
"Twilight says she can get through to Sombra, and I trust her one hundred percent." I said to Applejack as we had a meal at Sugarcube Corner.
"And just why are you so sure she can? This is King Sombra we're talking about after all." Rarity reminded me.
"Perhaps, but Twilight told me she has something she can work with, and I'm putting my faith in her. The last time we didn't trust her, look what happened: We were dangerously close to becoming Changeling food." I countered.
"Oof...don't remind me..." Applejack said, frowning.
"Exactly. So if Twilight believes she can bring Sombra to the side of good, then I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt." I said. "She did also say that he told her something that I could relate to. I'm not sure exactly the full extent of what he told her, considering she wouldn't disclose any information. Like at all. I think she may have Pinkie Pie Promised him not to say anything to anyone." I explained.
"Then how does she know he has something you can relate to?" Pinkie Pie asked.
"It's the way she said it, not what she said, that gives me a pretty good idea. I think she was subtly hinting at what it was without actually telling me, and knew I'd figure it out from there." I said.
"So then...what is it? What is it that you two have in common? Um...if you don't mind me asking." Fluttershy said next.
"Pretty simple actually: If I'm right, Twilight was telling me in a subtle way that Sombra was bullied too." I said. Suddenly everyone around me went wide eyed, including Spike.
"That...that long ago?!" Spike exclaimed. "That had to be over a thousand years ago..." He pointed out.
"Not to undermine what your saying Dash but...Sombra? Bullied? I find that pretty hard to believe." Applejack said.
"Like I said, I don't have the full details. But I trust Twilight. We should trust her too. We don't want to make the same mistake of not trusting her twice and this close to having not trusted her at the Canterlot Wedding. If we choose not to trust her, and she ends up being right...then do we even deserve to call ourselves her friends anymore?" I asked. I then shook my head. "We don't get to do that if we mess up again. So I won't make that mistake anymore. And the rest of you shouldn't either." I said.
"All right Rainbow...we'll put our faith in Twilight." Applejack said.
"Yeah, she needs to know we have her back." Pinkie Pie said.
"Plus, we are going to see them in a couple of weeks. It would be nice to see just how much progress she is making then." Rarity said.
"That's right...we are going in a couple of weeks. Shining Armor and Princess Cadence both won't be going, but I think we'll be fine..." Fluttershy said.
"And if she has made progress, perhaps that'll be a good thing?" Spike questioned. "I dunno...I really hope Twilight knows what she's doing..." He added.
"C'mon Spike...your no better then the rest of us. Remember, she raised you." I said to Spike.
"Your right Rainbow...I should trust in Twilight just like the rest of you. I too turned my back on her at the wedding. I won't make that mistake again." Spike said.
I smiled. It's times like this that really make me shine. As the element of loyalty, this could be just what I need to make up for what occurred at the wedding.

Season 1: Episode 5 - Double Tiara
Scootaloo's P.O.V.
Me and my friends were at lunch. And something was wrong. All day so far, Diamond Tiara has not once picked on us. And that worries us. So we go over.
"Okay, what's your game plan Diamond Tiara?" I asked her.
"My game plan? Oh right. You must be referring to all my bullying. Yeah I decided today was the day I was gonna stop doing doing that." Diamond Tiara said. I looked over to Silver Spoon.
"Don't look at me, I didn't convince her. Not by a long shot. Still, she said we should stop bullying you, so I won't do it. So don't tempt me." Silver spoon said.
"Why are you stoppin' if you don't mind me askin'?" Apple Bloom asked.
"Because it's wrong." Diamond Tiara said. "Besides, I did it to push you three." She added. That shocked the three of us and Silver Spoon.
"Come again?" Sweetie Belle said.
"I know, it's a stupid excuse. But my mother would never let me be friends with markless ponies like yourselves. But I'm done being controlled by her and told what to do by her." Diamond Tiara said. The whole time, it was because of her mother? And she was just pushing us?
"Wait, markless ponies? Is that a new insult?" I asked.
"Oh...I'm sorry...did I insult you with that phrase too? If I did, I'm sorry." Diamond Taira said. Something isn't right here.
"No it's just...it took me by surprise is all." I said. "But something's different about you, Diamond. Did something happen at home?" I asked.
"One could say that. My mother started saying a bunch of mean things to daddy. I decided right then and there that I was gonna quit trying to appease her if it meant stooping to that sort of level." Diamond said.
"Your answering our questions quite well...that's different." Sweetie Belle said.
"Well...like I said, what I've done in the past I'm done with doing." Diamond Tiara said. "You'll get your cutie marks one day. And when you all do, I want to invite you over to my place for a pool party." She said.
"You'd do that for us?" Apple Bloom asked.
"I know I can never make up for the things I've done to you three girls. But I'd like to try." Diamond Tiara Said.
"You know...I thought for a while you might've been a heartless filly. Guess I was wrong. Showed me a thing or two." I said, smiling.
"I do have a heart, Scootaloo, otherwise I'd still be calling you mean names like 'Blank Flanks' all the time." Diamond Tiara said. Only Diamond Tiara could ever say blank flanks like that. It was her.
"I never really liked bullying you girls anyways. So if she's gonna be your friend more, I will too." Silver Spoon said.
Huh...who knew these two could be so nice?
Silver Spoon's P.O.V.
Later it was after school when we met up with the Cutie Mark Crusaders.
"Sorry we can't hang out today girls..." Diamond Tiara said. "But I promised daddy I'd get home right after school today." She said.
"That's all right. We can hang out tomorrow. Provided this is a permanent thing and not a one-off deal." Scootaloo said. Oh if only she and her friends knew...
"Don't worry, it's a permanent thing." Diamond Tiara said and we left.
"...We were really close to being ousted back there, X." I said to Diamond Tiara.
"I know...but I think I covered well." Diamond Tiara said. "Fixing damage Y did with those three was not easy, but I managed to do it without blowing my cover." She added. Soon an exact copy showed up with cloak on.
"...Ugh...I can't believe you would even bother with those blank flanks!" The copy said.
"But you know as well as I do that we've wanted to be their friend since day one. It took us getting separated to do it, but we're in." X said.
"Correction: Your in. I'm on the outskirts. And about to have to flee ponyville." Y said.
"You know we're one and the same right?" X asked.
"Don't remind me..." Y said.
"Just stop fighting." I said.
"Sorry Silver Spoon." X said. I walked X home as much as I could after Y left.
"See you tomorrow X?" I said.
"It's Diamond Tiara..." X said.
A short while later, I heard a scream.

Season 1: Episode 6 - Enter Slade
Scootaloo’s P.O.V.
I was riding my scooter with the girls in the wagon when we heard Diamond Tiara scream. We rushed to her house and saw her outside with her father near the doorway and her on the front lawn with Silver Spoon comforting her.
“Whoa! What happened here?” I asked. “Something Spoiled Rich did?” I Added heading up to the door with the crusaders in tow.
“Girls...whatever you do...don’t open that door!” Diamond Warned us.
“How bad could it be?” Sweetie Belle Said.
“If you open that door, you will never be able to unsee anything.” Silver Spoon Said.
“What’s that supposed to...” Apple Bloom says but when we opened that door...
We wish we didn’t. We ran to Diamond Tiara after.
“I tried to warn you...” Diamond Tiara Said.
“Was that your mother who was...” I couldn’t even say. Diamond Tiara nodded.
Third Person P.O.V.
Celestia arrived on the scene. She saw the group outside. By now the elements of Harmony were there too. Minus Twilight.
“Sugarcube, What did you see?” Applejock asked her sister.
“Trust me sis...it’s better that ya don’t know. Let the princess handle this.” Apple Bloom Said.
“It’s that bad.” Sweetie Belle Said.
“Beyond uncool and straight into just downright terrible; worse then any nightmare I’ve ever had.” Scootaloo Added.
“If Scoots says it’s that bad, then we should lay off.” Rainbow Dash said. “Princess, it’s up to you.” She Added.
“Indeed.” Celestia looked inside. “...Oh dear...” She said.
Inside was Spoiled Rich’s dead body, cut open in the living room; with blood all over the walls, floor, and cealing.
Suddenly from out of nowhere a male fox showed up.
“Let me see.” The fox said.
“HE TALKS?!” Rarity was shocked. Celestia let him see.
“...Dammit he’s back.” The fox punched the door. “That stupid bastard is back.” The fox said.
“Um your highness...all blood is Spoiled Rich’s Blood. Autopsy says she died from massive blood loss. And the marks were all made while she was dying.” A royal guardd. said.
“Just as I feared. No doubt about it. He’s back. That monster is back.” The fox said.
“You know who did this?” Celestia asked the fox.
“His name is Slade Johnson...” The fox said. “I suggest you get to work on finding not just him, but also his client.” He added.
“Client? You mean someone paid to have Spoiled Rich murdered?” The royal guard asked.
“That’s how Slade works: He’s an assassin for hire.” The fox said. Celestia gave Rainbow Dash a letter.
“To Twilight. Your the only one who can fly fast enough to get there and back in under 24 hours.” Celestia Said.
“I’ll do it in under 4!” Rainbow Dash Said and flew off.
Twilight’s P.O.V.
I was enjoying a nice lunch with Sombra when Rainbow Dash flew in.
“Dash, this is sudden...something wrong?” I asked. She handed me a letter.
“Express delivery. Whatever this is, it’s big Twilight. Gotta get back.” Rainbow Dash flew off.
“...You weren’t kidding about her speed. It has to be serious if Celestia is sending you a letter through Rainbow Dash.” Sombra Said. I opened the letter.
“I’ll read it aloud.” I Said after a few pictures fell out.
“My dearest student, a mysterious assassin has appeared in our fair country. According to a mysterious fox; who identified the assassin as somepony known as Slade Johnson; Slade is an Assassin for hire. Until he is brought to justice, I advise keeping close to Sombra for protection. As much as I don’t like him, I trust you and you trust him. And right now, that’s good enough for me. Be safe. And if Sombra can help us catch Slade, all the better. Your teacher, Princess Celestia.” I read from the letter.
“An assassin...I don’t care who he thinks he is, he won’t get to you, Twilight.” Sombra said. “So long as I live, I will make sure any possible attempts on your life do not bore fruit.” Sombra said.
“I know Sombra. An assassin is a first for all of Equestria. Things have changed in the thousand years you’ve been gone. Ponies are a lot more open minded. Well most of them are.” I Said. “And I know you’ll protect me. And not just because there’s an assassin on the loose.” I Added. “It’s because of my relationship to Radiant Hope; and I would like to think right now that’s going to be a driving force. If the Crystal heart is found...I want you to promise me that when it is you come back to Ponyville with me and give up the Crystal empire. My friends are there, and I belong there. You can come with, make a fresh start. And you can look over me.” I Said.
“I’ll consider it.” Sombra Said.
Unknown P.O.V.
An assassin? Messing with the time stream must have brought on this anomaly. Still I trust what I’m doing. Both versions of me, that is. I know my other self will do as they say they will. Slade...your days are numbered.

Season 1: Episode 7 - Twilight's Ascension
Twilight's P.O.V.
It'll be a few days before my friends come over to visit me. And so far, the progress I've made with Sombra seems to be going well. By the time the next meeting happens, I might be able to fully convince him to use his powers for the good of Equestria. The crystal ponies all relax around me while Sombra isn't lookiing. Today though, one of the ones Sombra used for the gem mines broke their leg.
"...Grr...can't believe one was so foolish..." Sombra said. "None of these darn crystal ponies ever studied medical practices." He added.
"Let me see what I can do." I said. "Between what you've been teaching me and my own studies of magic, I think I can do something." I said.
"If your planning on mending the broken leg, I've already amputated it." Sombra said. "So you won't be able to do anything." He added.
"No. I can still do something. It's a use for your dark magic I don't think you've considered." I said.
"Fine, I will let you try." Sombra said. He brought me to the pony in question. "I'm not holding my breath on this however." He added.
"Don't count me out so soon." I said and began working magic on the amputated leg. After a few moments of pain, I was able to restore the leg, good as new.
"What the..." The pony was able to walk around as if nothing had happened to them. "Wh-whoa...my leg! It's like I never broke it and lost it!" They said.
"Restoration...are you sure that's dark magic?" Sombra asked.
"Dark magic can do things normal magic cannot. That's something I've learnt from learning it from you." I said and then the crystal pony left the room. "Mending broken limbs and even restoring them completely is something I found can be done. Dark magic doesn't have to be just destructive, it can be used to do things such as restoring a pony's leg, wing, or even horn." I said.
"I see...then perhaps you can teach me some of these other uses just as much as I teach you about the ones I know." Sombra said.
"It'd be my pleasure." I said but a bright light engulfed me.
"TWILIGHT!" Sombra yelled out.
Sombra's P.O.V.
"TWILIGHT, CAN YOU HEAR ME?!" I called out to Twilight through the light again. Soon the light faded and Twilight re-emerged from it. Only something was different about her. It didn't take long for me to see what did change: She had wing now. Which only meant one thing. "Twilightt...your an Alicorn..." I said.
"Wh-what..." Twilight checked and sure enough, there they were. "...I'm going to need to hide these from my friends until the crystal heart is found." She added.
"Well...I meant to give you this during the meeting..." I said before levitating a purple cape to her. "...But seeing as you need to hide those wings until further notice, I might as well give it to you now." I said. Twilight suddenly hugged me.
"Oh thank you Sombra. I love it!" Twilight said before putting the cape on right away. "This is such a thoughtful gift. Thank you Sombra." She added with such a lovely smile. Her smile was enough thanks for me. I would do anything to have her smile like that.
Celestia's P.O.V.
I was dealing with Day Court when suddenly I felt a massive power surge coming from the crystal empire. Luna soon joined me.
"Sister, did thou feel that power?" Luna asked me.
"I did Luna..." I told my sister. "Which can only mean that it had to be Twilight. I had my doubts in regards to my student's plans to reform Sombra but now..." I said before tears of joy stains my eyes. "...I have no doubts that Twilight will be key to making Sombra see the good in ponies once again." I added.
"I feel the same as you do, sister." Luna said. "The stained glass window that follows once Sombra is reformed is one I think even I am looking forward too." She added.
Unknown P.O.V.
By Harmony...Twilight's ascension has occurred different then it did in my own timeline. But this is for the best. In fact, Twilight becoming an Alicorn sooner will actually will make the grand plan to save at least one timeline from ruin run much more smoothly. And from what I hear...Slade's arriving to the Crystal Empire to slay well...me...or at least past me.
"Sombra..." A female voice called out to me. I turned to see Starlight Glimmer. "We only have a few days left before we'll be forced back into the future. How are things so far?" She asked me.
"Ironically...things are looking up right now. Twilight's ascension has occurred early." I said before removing my cloak. "Which is a good sign. With any luck, convincing my past self to destroy the Umbra Crystal will be going smoothly. As I suspected it, Twilight was the key the whole time." I said to Starlight Glimmer.
"So...you think this timeline will be saved by what we are doing?" Starlight asked me.
"But of course Starlight. Everyone will be saved." I said before getting out the crystal empire. "My chance to save this timeline comes in a couple of days when Twilgiht's Friends in the past arrive. I will leave a note to my past self tonight to meet me here on this hill." I said. "...And that is when I will tell him that if he wants to save Twilgiht's life, he must destroy the Umbra Crystal and he'll need the help of Twilight and her Friends to power the crystal heart so that it can wipe out the Umbra Ghosts." I told Starlight.
"I can only hope you know what your doing." Starlight said.

Season 1: Episode 8 - End of Slade
Sombra's P.O.V.
"It's getting late." I said. "I think it's best you go take a bath." I said.
"A bath sounds nice." Twilight said and left.
"Twilight...I'll make sure to protect you at all costs. Even at the cost of my own life." I said to myself. I felt another presence with me. "...You must be Slade." I said.
"You are good." A male voice said from behind Sombra. The voice belonged to a simple male earth pony. "But not good enough to stop me. I got someone who wants you dead. So I have to kill you." Slade said.
"Sadly you've never fought someone like me. That much I garentee." I told him. One blast from me made his entire body get encased in crystal.
"What the...what kind of attack is this?!" Slade exclaimed.
"It's my own personal spell. Don't bother struggling, that black crystal is impossible to escape from." I told him. Twilight returned.
"Who the hell is this?" Twilight asked.
"Our assassin..." I said.
"Grr..." Slade said.
It was a little bit latter when Celestia came to take Slade away. Apperently there was a witness to him murdering Spoiled Rich. Meanwhile, I was able to find a list of all of Slade's clients. These people are just as guilty as Slade is. So the capture of each and every one of them would be one thing we can do.
But there is one name that puzzles me. the name of the latest client Slade has listed. It's simply listed as X...
Future Sombra's P.O.V.
"Slade has been captured." I told Starlight. "Which solves that little issue. I had faith in my past self that Slade would be dealt with properly." I said.
"You managed to leave the note for your past self yes?" Starlight said.
"Correct. Now we wait for him to find it, read it, and follow it's instructions accordingly." I said. "And when he does, this timeline will be saved. Ours may fall to ruin, but this one...this one will flourish." I added. Starlight put a hand on my shoulder.
"For once, it seems that fixing the past ensures a better future. No doubt all of our past selves; including those that have already died by the hands of those Umbra Ghosts; will have a better future because we changed the past." Starlight said.
"Hard to believe that that rotten crystal would cause so much trouble. So now it's up to us to stop the tragedy from occurring by changing the past so that the future may exist." I said. "And then once everything is ready, we'll be forced to return to our timeline, and when we do, we will die. But I'm fine with that." I added. "So long as she lives..." I said looking at the past version of Twilight. "...I'm glad I got to see her one last time." I mentioned.
"Me too Sombra." Starlgiht said putting a hoof on my shoulder. "Me too..." She added.
Sombra's P.O.V.
Slade's trial was the very next day, and it was pratically open and shut thanks to a witness whose identity we know not. They only went by the name of "Y". X and Y huh...such weird names for ponies.
"I almost wonder if it's a name that they use to have their true identity remain hidden." Twilgiht said.
"It would make sense I suppose. But then that means X could be anypony. Which only makes the search for him or her all the more difficult." I said.
"We can take care of them last Sommy." Twilight said, nuzzling me lovingly. "Let's focus on the ones we can pin-point for sure. It could take weeks if not months to find whoever X really is." She said.
"You have a point as usual Twi." I said. "But no matter what, I will protect your life." I said and went to prepare us breakfast. As I prepared breakfast, I reread a note I found last night in my room.
"Sombra...I am someone who is of great interest to you, and have information regarding Twilgiht. If you don't follow my instructions exactly, her life as well as the lives of all those she cares about will be at great risk. So I ask you to wait for her friends to arrive, convince them to spend the night at the Crystal Empire, and then find me at the hill that overlooks the Crystal Empire. This is a matter of utmost urgancy, I assure you." Is what was written in that note.
I will protect Twilight Sparkle. She means everything to me.
Third Person P.O.V.
Deep within the Everfree forest, the tree of harmony began to glow brightly; a sign that it was observing what was occurring with the element of magic, and sensed a great change in evil that would bring true harmony to the land.

Season 1: Episode 9 - Meeting of Friends
Rainbow Dash's P.O.V.
Finally, it was time for our meeting with Twilight and Sombra. And to say that I was actually looking forward to this whole thing, was an understatement.
"You really think Twilight's made as much progress as you think she has RD?" Applejack asked me.
"Considering Sombra was able to capture that Slade creep, I'm pretty sure Sombra is at least one hundred percent committed to Twilight. And that means that if we convince him, he might be willing to come back to Ponyville with Twilight in tow and then he can help us out with the occasional monster attack. Having someone besides the six of us that can take out monsters that randomly show up in town is a big deal." I explained.
"Well seeing him during Slade's Trial yesterday afternoon made me get to work yesterday on making him something special." Rarity said before taking out a stunning looking suit. "Do you think Sombra will enjoy what I've cooked up for him?" She asked.
"No doubt about it. That's really good work for something for a stallion." Pinkie Pie said.
"I agree. I think Sombra will agree as well." Fluttershy said.
"I may not like him that much still, but I will trust Twilight." Spike said.
Twilight's P.O.V.
I was finishing getting ready to see my friends and then headed down to see Sombra.
"You look beautiful, Twilght." Sombra said to me. I smiled and blushed.
"Thanks. Though can we keep the romance down a little during their stay? I don't want them to think that you've been forcing me to love you so you could get me to turn on them." I said.
"I would never. They are your friends, and you've stated countless times that they mean just as much to you as you do to me." Sombra said. "That's why I was thinking...perhaps you and I could convince them to stay the night over." He added.
"That's...wow...that's..." I stammered a bit. "Sombra, that would mean more to me then you think it would. I'm sure I can get them to do it for me. So long as your willing to make breakfast for everyone tomorrow morning." I added.
"Making breakfast for six mares and a dragon is a small price for me to pay to see you happy, my dearest Twilight." Sombra said. I nuzzle him.
"That's good to know, Sombra." I said.
Sombra's P.O.V.
Twilight's friends soon arrived. We took to a big private room with a large enough table for me to keep an eye on all of them while they were here.
"This is a nice room. I like." Rainbow Dash was the first to speak up.
"Gotta admit Twi...this isn't too bad." Applejack said, smiling.
"Twilight...why is she..." I said.
"Like I said...their my best friends." Twilight said. "So if one calls me Twi, it's nothing romanatic. I assure you." She added.
"Right...my apologies. That's why I asked." I said.
"How very noble. Oh by the way..." Rarity soon brought out a coat. My god, this coat. It was the most stylish thing I've ever seen. "I made this for you after seeing you at the trial. It should meet your expectations nicely." Rarity said.
"It is very stylish and I do like it. How much do you want?" I asked.
"Oh pish posh, I won't have you paying for this. Consider it a gift for catching Slade and keeping our dearest friend Twilight safe from harm." Rarity said handing me the coat without another word.
"Element of generosity indeed..." I said simply. "Words cannot express my gratitude." I added.
"By the way...Twilight mentioned something to Rainbow Dash about the two of you having something in common. She wouldn't say what, but me and Rainbow have a question for you." Fluttershy said. "That is...if your okay with us asking..." She said. Element of Kindess indeeed.
"I think I can answer the quesiton." I said. Whatever Twilight said to Rainbow Dash, I pray that she didn't break that pinkie promise.
"Well all Twilight said to me was that I could relate to what caused you to become a tyrant. And I sort of filled in the blanks from there." Rainbow Dash admitted. Ah...so she thinks she has a good idea based on so little information.
"Um...so our question is...were you bullied when you were younger?" Fluttershy asked. I had to do a spit take. How the...
"How did you arrive to that conclusion with so little information?" I had to ask.
"Well I was bullied quite a lot for not being the best flier. Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash stood up for me and as a result got bullied quite a bit too. Especially after she accidently crashed while flying one day. We don't talk about the name the bullies used on her." Fluttershy said.
"I can relate to the pain of names bullies use all to well...and the name they often called me is something I don't like talking about either." I said.
"So our guess was right: You were bullied too." Rainbow Dash said.
"It was the thing that tempted me the most, I'll admit. But what made me snap was something much more tragic." I said. I steeled myself. If they had this much from so little information, then I might as well tell them the rest. "One thousand years ago, there was this crystal pony mare named Radiant Hope. She saw past my blood and saw me for who I was deep down then what I was on the surface. To her, I wasn't a half-breed between a pony and an Umbra; Umbras are creatures of pure dark magic by the way; no to Radiant Hope I was a stallion who only really needed someone to understand me and look past my blood to see the stallion underneath." I said.
"So whatever happened to her?" Applejack said.
"When we were both sixteen, I had plans on taking her out to lunch one fine day. A day not unlike a normal day for you in ponyville in fact. When I was informed that Radiant Hope was going to be excuted via being burnt at the stake for associating with me." I said. "I was unable to stop them, and Radiant Hope was killed in cold blood by the entire empire." I added.
"So Radiant Hope's execution is what ultimatly made you snap..." Fluttershy said. "You poor thing...I don't know what I'd do if Rainbow Dash had been executing for associating with me. I'd probably snap too." She added.
"That kind of tragic loss would've made any of us snap like Sombra did darling." Rarity said.
"Too true. Maybe more so for me, because I wouldn't have been able to protect whoever it was that got executed." Rainbow Dash said. There's her element shining forth.
"Well considering how much I was scared for Apple Bloom's life when those two colts stupidly brought a Ursa Minor into town because they wanted to see that Trixie girl vanquish one for real and also see more amazing magic, if that beast had killed my little sister...I'm being as honest as I can when I say I'd want nothing less then the heads of those two colts on a stick for being so stupid." Applejack said. The honesty I could sense from Applejack as she said that last part only solidified my next statement. But I didn't get it out before Pinkie Pie interupttted.
"WAIT! Before you say anything Sombra, you need to wait for the next episode!" Pinkie Pie said. I blinked.
"What the...what episode?" I asked.
"It's Pinkie Pie...best you don't question her..." Twilight said. Oh right. Forgot about that little factoid.

Season 1: Episode 10 - Meeting of Fate
Sombra's P.O.V.
After a little bit of silence, Pinkie Pie spoke up again. "Okay, NOW you can continue." She said.
"Pinkie Pie you are so random!" Rainbow Dash said.
"Tell me something I don't know." Pinkie Pie said in the most happiest tone ever. Obviously it'd be hard to break the element of laughter.
"You all mean a great deal to Twilight...and talking with you all has only made it clear to me just how much you five mean to her." I said. "I may not know where the Crystal Heart is, but I suppose giving up this empire to ensure that none of you ever have to deal with the kind of loss I have will more then make up for it." I added.
"Wow, that's nice of you Sombra. And so very kind." Fluttershy said. Ah there's her element poking through.
"Besides, I can see now you are all important to keeping the real villains that would dare cause massive grief to others at bay." I said. "And I would sooner sacrifice my own life, then have one of you sacrifice yours." I said.
"Sombra..." Twlight said.
"I've made my decision...when the crystal heart is found, I plan on heading back to ponyville with all of you." I said. Twilight hugged me.
"Thank you...thank you so much..." Twilight said.
"In fact, why don't you all stay the night? I do believe arrangements can be made." Sombra said.
"You know Sombra...your kind of awesome." Rainbow Dash said.
Present Sombra's P.O.V.
That night, I did as the note instructed and arrived at the hill in question, finding a mysterious pony hiding his idenity.
"Are you X perhaps?" I asked them. bluntly
"No. I am not the one you seek in that front." The figure said. That voice...what the...
"Your voice...why do you sound like..." The figure revealed himself to be a grown up version of the way I looked as a young colt.
"I'm from the future...the far future." My obvious future self said. "Or at least, a future that will come to be if you don't do exactly as I tell you to." He added. I noticed he had the crystal heart.
"Your the one who took the crystal heart?" I questioned. My future self nodded.
"For good reason. To stop your future from turning out like mine did, I had to do what was necessary to change the past. Even if my own will remain unchanged," My future self said. "Because the way the future turns out if you don't do exactly as I tell you, then everyone in the world will die, including Twilight and her friends." He added. The news shocked me to my core.
"Then tell me...what do I need to do?" I asked my future self.
"You've already unknowingly started the process: Twilght and her friends believe you can do some good in this world. And you still can. The crystal heart when it releases it's power should not kill you when you do what needs to be done to stop the future I come from from happening before it's too late." My future self said.
"So then what is it? What do we need to do that requires the Crystal Heart?" I asked.
"First, you need to destroy the Umbra Crystal so that the Umbra Ghosts within will be released. Then, using the love of the crystal empire combined with the friendship of Twilight and her friends, you must vaporize the Umbra Ghosts." My future self said.
"Those beasts...they were sealed within the crystal for a reason. Why should I willingly release them?" I asked. "Unless...oh no..." I realized why my future self told me to do this now.
"That's right. If you don't do this now, then in the far future the Umbra Crystal will shatter on it's own because the ghosts will grow too strong to be contained by it. This is the earliest point in time where it would begin to lose it's hold on the Umbra Ghosts. In other words, this is when they are at their weakest. And you don't have to mention the whole meeting your future self from a timeline where the crystal did break. I'm sure you can tell them that you can stop the Umbra Ghosts from ever becoming a threat that you'll need to deal with by nipping your problem in the bud tomorrow. But do it after breakfast." My future self said. He handed me the Crystal Heart and started to glow. "...My time's run out..." He said.
"Huh?" I asked.
"With help from a pupil of Twilight Sparkle who you'll eventually meet in the future, I was able to change the past to this degree. Sure there were some unforseen events that occurred, but the spell that's keeping me and that student in the past is wearing off. Just remember: Stop the Umbra Ghosts with the help of the Elements and the Empire itself. Only then can you save everyone." My future self said before he suddenly faded away.

Me and Starlight arrived back in our timeline, the timeline where I would've failed to do as I told myself to do.
"It's all up to you, my past self..." I said as the Umbra Ghosts began closing in on me and Starlight Glimmer. "It's all up to you to stop this from happening to yourself..." I said.
Third Person P.O.V.
Back in the present time, the tree of harmony began glowing much more brightly, as if sensing the act that would take place; ready to protect Sombra from the Crystal Heart's magics.

Season 1: Episode 11 - Sombra's Ascension Part 1
Sombra's P.O.V.
It was after breakfast time, when I told the girls to all meet me in the overview of the empire.
"...Girls...don't ask me where I found this..." I said before producing the Crystal Heart. "But I found it." I said.
"Sweetness. So what are we waiting for?" Rainbow Dash said, ready to leave.
"Not so fast, Rainbow Dash. There's something I also need to show you." I said and brought forth the Umbra Crystal.
"What is that thing?" Applejack said.
"There are creatures of pure malice inside this crystal, an artifact given to me by my father under the condition I keep it safe and out of the hands of pure malice like what is trapped inside. Inside here are mere ghosts of the most dangerous Umbra that ever walked the face of our planet." I explained. "My father called them the Umbra Ghosts; and they've been kept sealed in this crystal for my entire life. Right now, if I were to release them, they wouldn't pose much of a threat to us if we combine the love the empire produces with the friendship you six exhibit." I said.
"Why would you release those vile creatures?" Applejack asked.
"Because while this a prison, it's not a permanent one. These Umbra ghosts could only be contained by Crystal, it's the only magically potent thing that could imprison them. But if we were to wait say a few years from today...then they would grow in strength to the point where nothing; and I mean nothing; could stop them from killing every last living thing on the planet." I said.
"That's...a dark thought..." Twlight said.
"These ghosts have lost all sense of self too, I'm afraid; the state they were put in here in has made them nothing more then mindless beasts that can think of only one thing: Ultimate revenge." I said.
"Oh...oh my..." Fluttershy said. "So we'd have to kill them..." She added.
"Actually, if you want to be technical about it, their already dead." I said.
"That's just all kinds of creepy. So why are we going to release them now?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Because if we do this right, we can destroy them in the way I already told you." I said. "It's best we nip this problem in the bud before it actually becomes one." I said.
"Well when you put it like that...I suppose there's not much of an argument to be had then." Rarity said.
"Should I address the citizens then?" Twilight asked.
"Of course. But first...perhaps you should show your friends something first." I said.
"Right..." Twilight said before she removed her cape.
"Twilight...your an alicorn?!" Applejack exclaimed.
"Wow...now you can be my flying buddy." Rainbow Dash mentioned.
"Can we focus on the task at hand first?" Twilight asked.
"Right...sorry..." Fluttershy said.
"This is a big thing for you, Twilight." Spike said.
"We can focus on everything later. For now, we need the empire's help." Twilight said.
"I'll put the crystal heart in place. Everything needs to work perfectly." I said.
Some time later, Twililight had managed to convince the Crystal Ponies to do their part, now it was our turn.
"Let's do this thing." Rainbow Dash said.
"I have to break this. It only responds to dark magic." I said before proceeding to break the crystal. "Now, everyone focus your thoughts into the crystal heart." I told the girls who began doing just that. I soon joined them. Thoughts of them all and Twilight filled my mind.
"...Sombra..." I heard a female voice say.
"R-Radient Hope?!" I exclaimed.
"I've been waiting for you to do something good Sombra...you've finally done it...you've moved past being the monster everyone thought you were. And you found love once more in my own decedent. I couldn't be more proud of you. I must go now. I'll see you eventually...Sombra...take care of my descendent for me, would you? Love her like you loved me." Radiant Hope's voice said before it faded entirely.
"Radiant Hope...I promise you from the bottom of my heart..." I said before suddenly my dark magic flared up. "I WILL NOT LET ANYONE SUFFER LIKE I HAVE! AND I WILL PROTECT YOUR DECENDENT!" I shouted, the words coming from my own heart which had now thawed. Twilight had done it. She had saved me from the monster people thought I was. A bright light soon envolped me, but it was more like a shield.
"...You won't die...not today..." A voice called out to me.
"Who...are you..." I said.
"I am the spirit of the Tree of Harmony. Don't worry Sombra...we will see each other eventually. But today, I must protect you from the surge of magic about to happen. You will not die today. You are still essential to obtaining True Harmony." The voice said.
"What is True Harmony?" I asked.
"That Sombra, is something you will find out on your own..." The Tree of Harmony's voice said. it faded too.
A huge blast of rainbow light washed over the entirety of the world, killing the freshly released Umbra Ghosts.
Celestia's P.O.V.
"Sister...we must make haste to the crystal empire!" I called to Luna.
"It's Sombra isn't it? He just saved us all from a threat that would've eventually killed us all..." Luna said.
"Yes he did my sister." I said as we began to fly to the Crystal Empire. "Yes he did..." I added.

Season 1: Episode 12 - Sombra's Ascension Part 2
Sombra's P.O.V.
As my vision returned, I noticed that everyone but me was now sporting some kind of crystaline look.
"This is so elegant!" Rarity said.
"Of course you would fangasm over this..." Twilight said, frowning. "But does this mean the plan worked? Did we destroy the Umbra Ghosts?" She asked.
"You did indeed." Celestia said, suddenly flying in with her sister. Cadence and Shining Armor teleported in as well. The later approaching me.
"I don't know why you did it, and frankly, I don't care. What I do know, is that you just saved the world." Shining Armor said.
"It was mostly for Twilight's sake...that and those she cares about." I said. "And so long as I breath, I will protect her and everyone she cares about." I said. "But first...the crystal empire is yours, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza." I said to Cadence.
"Just Cadence is fine..." Cadence said to me.
"You may no longer rule the Crystal Empire, Sombra. But your actions have shown that you could become a great ruler; one who puts the needs of their subjects above that of their own." Celestia said.
"So long as I breath, I won't let another person become like me." I said. "And so long that life still fills my body, I swear upon my father's grave that I will stop any more prejudice from occuring." I added. "My chosen magic may be darkness, but Twilight and her friends showed me that even the darkness can have a good side." I finished. Suddenly I could feel a bright glow envelop me like it did Twilight.
Twilight's P.O.V.
The harsh light that enveloped Sombra was easy for me to recognize. It was the same thing that happened to me. Soon the light died down and now Sombra too was an Alicorn.
"Whoa! Talk about awesome!" Rainbow Dash said, smiling. "Now you and Sombra both can be my flying buddies." She added with a smirk.
"Cool it Rainbow." I said.
"This...is going to take some getting used to." Sombra said, feeling a wing.
"Join the club." I reminded him.
"A half-breed like Sombra becoming an Alicorn...that's got to be new." Applejack said.
"OH MY GOSH, DOUBLE ALICORN PARTY AT TWILIGHT'S PLACE LATER!" Pinkie Pie shouted. I sighed and smiled.
"Please never change Pinkie...please never change." I said.
"You got it!" Pinkie Pie said with glee.
"She's probably going to take the most getting used to for me." Sombra admitted.
"Join the club." I echoed from earlier.
"Oh yeah, you did try and scientifically prove Pinkie Sense didn't you?" Sombra asked with a smirk. I blushed.
"Well...then...at least you know not to question that sort of thing..." I said.
"Are you two actually getting involved romantically with each other?" Rainbow Dash asked me. I nodded. "OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!" She said.
"Well I for one couldn't be happier for ya sugarcube." Applejack said.
"I wonder if there's a royal wedding in your future." Pinkie Pie said.
"One step at a time Pinkie..." I said. "One step at a time..." I repeated this time to everyone.
"Of course darling. You take your time." Rarity said.
Third Person P.O.V.
Elsewhere the Tree of Harmony stopped glowing so brightly, but it was still blue as the day it was discovered.

Season 1: Episode 13 - Twilight's Return to Ponyville
Sombra's P.O.V.
Things have cooled down since then. After a brief annoucement regarding Twilight's accension as well as my own, me and Twilight arrived at Golden Oaks Library, the place the love of my life calls home.
"So here it is..." Twilight said. "Golden Oaks Library; the place I've been living at since I moved to Ponyville." She said. Twilight's friends were there to greet us inside.
"You sure you don't want us calling you princess and prince Twi?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"I'm quite sure Rainbow. If other ponies want to call us that, it is fine. But not my closest friends." Twilight said. I smiled. She had such a big heart. She really was a descendent of Radiant Hope.
"I am so glad you two are here for the time being. The summer sun celebration will be in canterlot, and it'll be Twilight's first time taking part." Fluttershy said.
"Until then, I plan on helping her out where I can." Rainbow Dash said.
"I've got a few books on the subject. And before you mock my books, may I remind you of the running of the leaves." Twilight said.
"You don't." Rainbow Dash said. "You most certainly don't. Not gonna mock your books this time." She added.
"Yeah...the last time you did that, you and Applejack got owned in a race by Twilight." Spike said.
"Really? You never told me you participated in a race." I said.
"Oh right. The running of the leaves is more of a marathon though. So I looked up a few books on running a marathon. I managed to get fifth place, which is decent for my first time considering I hadn't run a race before." Twilight said.
"What you and applejack get? Sixth and Seventh?" I asked the two mares.
"Actually...we tied for last." Applejack said, hat hung in shame.
"...But your both so athletic. How did you place THAT low?!" I quesitoned.
"They were too busy trying to mess each other up." Twilight answered for me.
"Lesson learnt on that front. Seriously." Rainbow Dash said. "We had to rerun the course because of it, but eh...it was fine. Applejack and I sort of bounded over our competitive natures that day." She added.
"is that a brag?" I asked.
"Get used to that." Twilight said. "Rainbow Dash tends to brag about the smallest things." She added.
"Next time though, I'll be more focused on the race itself." Rainbow Dash said.
"I could get used to this sense of togetherness. The kind of vibes you give off to each other gives me a sense of togetherness I thought I'd never get." I said.
"Guess you'll be hanging out with my friends just as much as me now." Twilight said. "And that's a good thing. They mean a lot to me." She added.
"I know." I said. "I will make sure if they are taken from this life, it's on their own terms." I added.
"There's very kind of you...but it's a little early to be talking about us dying." Flutteryshy said.
"Yeah. I think we all got some miles on us still." Applejack said.
"I know, but if someone does try to end your life prematurely, I will make sure that they don't succeed." I said.
"And before anyone says anything, I would like to point out that Slade was a very real threat; one we couldn't have dealt with without Sombra." Twilight said. "So having him around in case something similar to Slade pops up is a good thing." She added.
"I don't think Diamond Tiara or the CMC are going to forget Slade anytime soon. None of us know what they saw, but considering how scared Scootaloo was about what they did see, means it has to be something super bad." Rainbow Dash said.
"CMC?" I questioned.
"Cutie Mark Crusaders." Applejack said. "They include my sister Apple Bloom, Rarity's sister Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo who Rainbow Dash has taken up mentoring." She explained.
"Scootaloo may not be my actual sister, but I did agree to be her mentor and surrogate sister." Rainbow Dash said. "So even if we're not related, I consider her my own little sister." She added.
"So what do those three fillies even do as the Cutie Mark Crusaders?" I asked.
"Their trying all sorts of different things to get their cutie marks so they can discover their true talents." Applejack said. "Even though I've told them they should take their time, they don't listen..." She added.
"Let the kids be kids I say." I said. "At least they aren't harming anyone." I added.
"Eh...well maybe not intentionally, but more often then not, the three little dears do get in trouble every now and again during their crusades." Rarity said.
"Oh boy..." I said. "I bet there's a list involving the things they've tried getting their cutie marks..." I added.
"If there is, I've never seen it." Twilight said. "Though at one point I did start helping them once a week on Saturdays." She said. "I should probably get back on that now that I'm back. Hopefully this time, no one gets the bright idea to try and get in on it." Twilight said. "Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon once interuppted 'Twiiight Time' as the fillies called it. They haven't since then." She explained. I noticed the sun starting to set.
"Geez, it's getting that late already?" I asked.
"Oof...guess we're all staying over." Applejack said.
"It's fine. I have plenty of spare mattresses we can use." Twlight said.
"That's Twilight for you...always thinking about these 'in case of emergency' situations." Rainbow Dash said as Twilight got out a few bunk beds for her friends.
"There's a spare bed in the guest room you can sleep on Sombra." Twilight told me.
"Thank you, Twilight." I said.
Tomorrow, I'll get my first taste of what life is like with Twilight's friends...

Season 1: Episode 14 - The Day Before Vines
Sombra’s P.O.V.
“So let me get this straight...” I Said to Applejack as I helped her and Rainbow Dash prepare for the Ponyville Summer Sun Celebration side of thing. “You once tried to handle this entire orchard...” I said, gesturing towards the orchard. "All by yourself, and caused a slew of problems for the entire town all because you wouldn't accept help." I said.
"...When you say it like that...it really hits home just how many problems ah caused." Applejack said.
"I only have one question: WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!" I exclaimed at her.
"Ah don't think ah was really thinking that much..." Applejack said.
"HEY SOMBRA!" A very loud combination of three voices yelled out before Scootaloo rode her scooter that had a wagon attached to it that had Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle riding in it.
"Oh it's you three. The Cutie Mark Crusaders AKA the CMC right?" I asked them.
"Yeah. We're just going over to a special meet-up place to see Diamond Tiara and help her out with what she wants to do from now." Scootaloo said.
"Didn't she bully the three of you?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"She used to, but lately she's been the nicest filly around. And not just to us." Sweetie Belle said.
"Yeah, she's really committing to wanting to change, but she needs help to know how." Apple Bloom said.
"You sure she's not a changeling in disguise?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"She said she was done calling us 'blank flanks' and she said it in the same way she always does when she says that phrase. We know it the real her." Scootaloo explained.
"Excuse me, but...what are changelings?" I asked.
"Oh right...you were gone for one thousand years..." Rainbow Dash said.
"So more then likely ya don't know what a changeling is." Applejack said.
"They may have existed a thousand years ago, but I wouldn't be able to tell you for sure; after all, I was in the crystal empire." I said.
"Well we don't know where their hive is either, but their queen once had this plan of impersonating Cadence. She and Shining Armor beat her plot though with the power of love. The one time something so sappy couldn't have been more awesome with how it took those changelings out." Rainbow said.
"Thing is, Ah'm guessing their a very secretive race that's meant for spyin'." Applejack said. "And they are also a bunch of liars. Unfortunately, they are also very good actors. The queen had everyone but Twilight fooled. Even us. We've never let it go since. We put the wedding ahead of our friend and we almost became changeling food for it." She said.
"Never doing that again." Rainbow Dash said. "Last time we don't trust Twilight that's for darn sure." She added.
"Anyways, we're going now." Scootaloo said and took off with her friends.
Scootaloo's P.O.V.
I was riding my scooter through town when suddenly...we saw a robed pony running out of town.
"Was that X?" I asked.
"Most likely, but we best not follow her. Diamond Tiara comes first." Sweetie Belle said. We soon came across her and Silver Spoon but the former was quite bruised.
"Cutie Mark Crusaders..." Diamond Tiara said. "I tried to face up to X...but she fled the town as soon as she was done with me...I thought it would help make my mother proud of me if I managed to beat X up enough to the point where she would be unable to flee...and now here I am being beat up instead." Diamond Tiara said, and then spit at the ground far away.. "...Dammit...I tried..." She said.
"Stop trying to seek your mother's attention then." I said, and soon put a wing around her. "I can say that I'm proud of you for wanting to stop a really bad person..." I said.
"...Really? You mean that Scootaloo?" Diamond Tiara asked.
"Absolutely! I mean, you stood up to a clearly bad pony as best you could. I can't think of any better reason to call you my friend." I said. "Once you get better...me and the crusaders are going to help you find an all new purpose, I promise you that!" I said.
"Ah agree. After today, no doubt your a good person, Diamond Tiara." Apple Bloom said.
"And your a really good friend too!" Sweetie Belle said, smiling.
"Thanks girls..." Diamond Tiara said.
X's P.O.V.
Okay so I told them a little lie...it wasn't X who I fought with, it was Y. But that small lie was the only lie I said. I could no longer take my lying manipulative double...I had to try...but I was no match for her.
But on the plus side, I did make three brand new friends, and now I really can call them that. I may have lost the battle Y...but I have just won the war.

Season 1: Episode 16 - Castle Mania
Sombra's P.O.V.
I sighed as I approuched the Golden Oaks library and knocked on it's door.
"Come in." Twilight said from within. I came in. "Sombra, your back. What's up?" She asked.
"Applejack and Rainbow Dash are doing another competition; this time for most daring pony; with Pinkie Pie judging. And I can't seem to find where Rarity has gone to. As for Fluttershy well..." I said, before letting out a huff. "She was having tea with Discord as I saw through the window." I said.
"Don't be so upset Sombra. I guess today's not really that good of a day for everyone else." Twilight assured me. "Meanwhile, while I wait for Celestia's response, I've been having no luck with any of my research." She said. Suddenly Spike came down with a letter. "Oh, speaking of Celestia..." Twilight said before grabbing the letter and reading it.
"This is the place where you got the elements of Harmony from, right?" I asked as I entered the castle with Twilight and Spike.
"Yep. And I bet there's a whole treasure trove of un-tapped knowledge inside." Twilight said, being very giddy. I roll my eyes.
"You keep reminding me so much of Radiant Hope." I told her. "But I wouldn't mind reading with you, my dear." I said, smiling. Twilight blushed.
"I'd like that. Might not be the most romantic thing in the world, but I'd appreciate the company." Twilight said, smiling. I smiled back and soon helped her get set up for reading. We soon discovered a journal written by Celestia and Luna.
"Is this like a journal of the two sisters?" I asked Twilight.
"Ooooo...I wonder just what they wrote about!" Twilight said.
"Isn't this an invasion of privacy?" I asked.
"It'll be fine Sombra. Besides, maybe there's something inside of it that'll help me figure out what to do with that mystery box." Twilight said.
"I suppose it can't hurt." I said, putting a hoof over Twilight. Wind caught my cape and revealed to her my flank.
"Sombra..." Twilgiht said, noticing my flank.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Why don't you have a cutie mark?" Twilight asked, pointing to my exposed flank.
"Oh...you mean THAT." I said. "A consequence of being half-umbra I'm afraid; my flank will remain forever blank, as Umbra can never obtain a cutie mark." I explained.
"That's kind of sad..." Twilight said, but then got an idea. "I bet Rarity can make you something with a design that you can use as a cutie mark. After all, you are a master of Dark Magic; it should only be fair that you have SOMETHING to match that." She said. I couldn't help but chuckle.
"Twilight, your so much like Radiant Dawn, it's insane." I told her.
"And is that really so bad?" Twilight asked, smirking. I blushed.
"No. Not at all..." I said, but then Fluttershy's pet bunny came up to us. "Angel?" I asked.
"Wonder what he's doing here?" Spike asked.
"Maybe he just got lost." I said. "For now, let's indulge him." I added.
A few hours later, we were heading off to get more carrots for Angel when suddenly, we noticed everyone else but Pinkie Pie running around rampant in the main hall.
"EVERYONE STOP!" Twilight shouted before doing a spell that froze everyone in their tracks.
"Fluttershy?" Rainbow Dash asked, noticing Fluttershy.
"She's with me." Rarity said from down on the floor underneath a tapestry.
"Must...save...angel..." Fluttershy said, but noticed Angel. "Angel!" She said happily.
"Didn't know you could do something like this Twilight..." I said.
"It just came to me." Twilight said, shrugging it off. Everyone was released, and Fluttershy quickly went over and grabbed Angel.
"So why the hell are you all here?" I asked. I got several responses: Rainbow Dash and Applejack dared one another to stay in the castle longer then the other one. Rarity meanwhile enlisted Fluttershy's help to restore tapestries.
"So what are you doing here with Twilight, Sombra?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Accompanying her while she was reading." I said simply. "After all, I love reading." I added.
"Didn't peg you for being an Egghead, Sombra." Rainbow Dash said, smirking.
"I take that as a compliment." I said, smirking back.
"So what spooked everyone?" Twilight asked.
"The Pony of Shadows." Applejack said spookily.
"Oh please..." I said. And then the organ played again.
"Then who do you reackon is playing the organ?" Applejack asked.
"Only one way to find out..." Twilight said. She lead us to the organ room, approuched the pony playing it and revealed them to be...
"PINKIE PIE!?" Practically everyone but her yelled out.
"I thought you went off to ring the school bell?" Rainbow Dash asked her.
"I did, but they only let me ring it for an hour and they said that was good, don't know why. So I figured, I'd come and join in on your party." Pinkie Pie said.
"What sort of party is that?" I asked.
"Everyone runs around the spooky castle while I play the organ party." Pinkie Pie said, before playing the organ some more. "DUH!" She said.
Twilight's P.O.V.
I sat there in the room I was reading in alongside everyone else, finishing up my reading.
"So how come you weren't scared by everything Twilight?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Well in addition to being accompanied by Sombra...." I noticed him blushing when I said that. "I was reading the journal Celestia and Luna kept here in the castle, and reading about their time here made me get a feel for how it was like for them living here. Knowing that made it impossible for me to be scared. Plus, if anything did try anything...I had Sombra with me." I said.
"Looks like you know how to make her feel safe Sombra. That earns you some mad respect from me." Rainbow Dash said.
"I too enjoyed reading the journal. Gave me some insight into the lives of the two sisters." Sombra stated.
"You really are an Egghead." Rainbow Dash said.
"But reading this journal gave me an idea: I think we should make our own journal. That way, we can learn from each other and in the future, other ponies can learn from us." I stated.
"That's not a bad idea Twilight." Rarity said.
"Ah know what my first entry is going to be: Dear Dairy, I'm glad Granny Smith's legend wasn't true." Applejack said.
"Me too! Because that means your still tied for most daring pony!" Pinkie Pie said. This caused AJ and RD to glare at each other.
"Can you two cool it until we get back to Ponyville? I'm sure everyone there misses us." Sombra said.
"Can't argue with that." I said, smiling.
It may not have been a proper date, but I feel like reading with Sombra made me realize just how much I feel about him.
I know now that he feels the same way towards me as I do him, but at the time, I didn't know, and I couldn't help but wonder...

Season 1: Episode 17 - Daring Don't Aftermath
Sombra's P.O.V.
"Wait so Daring Do is not only real but you all found out A.K. Yearling is Daring Do?!" I exclaimed
"And that's why I'm glad this library is soundproof." Twilight said.
"Sorry...it's just...that's not something I expected." I said. Suddenly Rainbow Dash barged in.
"OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!" She exclaimed, holding the latest Daring Do book in her hooves.
"Whoa...guess A.K. Yearling really did give you an advance copy of the upcoming book." Twilight said, smiling. "But what's got you..." Rainbow Dash showed her the cover.
"TALK ABOUT RADICALLY AWESOME, AM I RIGHT?!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
"She actually wrote us into the book?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah. Though she seemed to have kept the focus on me." Rainbow Dash said. "Anyways, I'm already done reading it. I'll let you borrow it. There's...somewhere I need to be." Rainbow Dash said, smiling before flying off.
"...Wonder where she could be off to in such a hurry?" I asked.
"I don't know, but she looked excited." Twilight said, smiling. "Speaking of, I was wondering if tomorrow you'd be interested in going on a date, Sombra." She asked nervously.
"Times really have changed in a thousand years. Back in those days, it'd take the stallion to ask that. All the same, I was hoping to ask you first thing tomorrow the same question." I said.
"So does this mean..." Twilight said, and then I nodded. She squeed in joy.
"Gee calm down there..." I said, groaning.
Rainbow Dash's P.O.V.
I soon arrived at A.K. Yearling's house, which is also the home of Daring Do as they are one and the same. I knocked on the door.
"...Rainbow Dash, your here already?" A.K. Yearling asked before getting me inside and closing the door; locking it before making sure every window was covered and then taking off her disguise.
"Still awesome." I said, smiling as I looked upon Daring Do in all her glory outside of her disguise.
"I never thought about having friends, mostly because I work alone." Daring Do said. "But I guess if my last adventure taught me anything, it's that you can't always do things by yourself." She said. "So I guess what I'm saying is, if the opportunity comes up, if you have free time, you can join me on my next adventure." She said.
"You don't even NEED to ask. I'm there." I said.
"Good. Also, one other thing..." Daring Do soon gave me a special ticket.
"Wait...isn't this a...." I stammered.
"...A V.I.P. pass to the upcoming Daring Do convention a few months from now? Yes. Yes it is. Normally you'd have to pay all outdoors to afford one of these, but considering the latest book includes you, I think it wouldn't make sense for you to not have this." Daring Do said, smiling.
"I am SO there!" I said, smiling. I didn't want to let my excitement get to my head in her presence, but you can bet I did when I got home.
Twilight's P.O.V.; the next day
I was having a nice dinner with Sombra as we were eating out for our date tonight.
"Not gonna lie..." Sombra said. "Being with you, getting to know you and your friends...I don't think I've ever been this accepted since Radiant Hope." He said.
"And I'm so glad you decided to give this a shot. I don't think I've ever seen you so happy before." I said, smiling.
"That's because of how happy you and your friends make me. But all of it wouldn't have been possible without you." Sombra said, smiling. "Twilight...I may not be a proper king anymore...but I still like to call myself the King of Shadows." He said.
"Of course you do. I haven't forgotten." I said.
"Which is why, I think we should try dating more often then this. I really want to spend time with you in particular. The feelings you make me feel...I haven't felt them since...you know..." Sombra said. "But that doesn't matter. In fact, in two weeks from today, I would love to spend all day with you; alone. Just the two of us." He said.
"I'd love that too." I said.

Well that day it would throw a Mokey Wrench into my plans with Sombra. And I would learn the day when Radiant Hope died. A day that I would never forget.

Season 1: Episode 18 - Pinkie Pride (QoS Version)
Pinkie Pie's P.O.V.
Itchy itchy itch...I woke up the day after Cadence came over to spend time with Twilight only for Discord to do some chaos and now...well...my mane is all itchy.
And that can only mean one thing: It's somepony's birthday today!
But whose birthday could it be? I go to check the birthdays of all my friends. I did a triple check.
"Let's see..." I said to myself. "Rainbow Dash's birthday isn't for a couple more months, mine was last month; never gonna forget that; Twilight's is the month after RD's; Rarity's BD was the month before mine; Applejack's isn't until next spring; Fluttershy prefers spending her birthday alone with her animals and it's three days from now; and Spike's birthday isn't until the week after Twilight's BD." I said. "So then...whose birthday could it be?" I asked. Suddenly I gasped when I realized that only left one other option after I checked the days I know for the other ponyville residents. "Sombra! It's his BD today! Wow...I bet he's not celebrated a birthday in one thousand years!" I said. "So I best make this a birthday he can remember!" I said and started to get party making.
Unknown P.O.V.
Woowee, my cheese sense is picking up a planned birthday party here in Ponyville. And I can't wait to help throw it.
Sombra's P.O.V.
I woke up, finding myself in Twilgiht's bed.
"Morning sleepy head." Twilght said, waking me up fully. She was in the bed with me.
"Gah! Isn't this a little soon Twiglhit?" I asked.
"You told me you wanted to spend all day with me two weeks from our date. So I made sure to circle the day in question on my calender." Twilgiht said.
"Because of course you did..." I said.
"Once I realized what day it was going to be, I told Spike that he should go sleep over with Rarity and spend the whole day with her today." Twilight said. "So it'll be just me and you today; just like you asked." She said. I smiled.
"Thanks Twilight. That means a lot to me." I said, smiling as I snuggled up next to her.
"Not that I know why you don't want to spend time with anyone but me today. But I'm not complaining. A day for just the two of us together is a nice gesture." Twilight said. Oh Twilight...if only I had the nerve to tell you...
...Wait...
"Twilight, do you hear something?" I asked her. I looked out the window. "Oh no..." I said and started to rush out the door. "I gotta stop Pinkie Pie..." I said.
"Huh? Why? What's she doing?" Twilight asked.
"Twilight my dear, I'll be back soon. Just...don't ask questions." I said and went out.
"...I'm going to follow him." Twilight said, but I didn't hear.
I headed outside to Pinkie Pie who was still making the preperations for a birthday party.
"Oh hey Sombra. You really shouldn't be here yet." Pinkie Pie said. "But I guess since your already here, I guess I can be the first pony to tell you happy birthday!" She said. Oh no...she said it. And I noticed Twilight behind me whose jaw dropped.
"It's your birthday today?" She asked. "And you didn't tell me?!" She exclaimed.
"And for good reason! I don't want a birthday party!" I announced. Everyone stopped what they were doing and Pinkie Pie did a spit take. Even a nearby earth pony wearing some strange outfit was shocked.
"Huh? Why the hay don't you want a birthday party, sugarcube?" Applejack said.
"I have my reasons! Now pack this up! There's only one thing I want today, and that's to spend all day with Twilight." I said.
"Sombra..." Twilight said and watched me go back inside the library. "Wait...could today also be..." She said and followed me inside.
Twilight's P.O.V.
"Sombra!" I said, before running up to him. "Today isn't just your birthday, is it?" I asked.
"What do you mean by that?" Sombra asked.
"...Radiant Hope." I said simply. Sombra looked shocked. "...I'm right, aren't I? That's why you want to only spend time with me today. She died the same day you were born." I said.
"Your...really good at that sort of thing...you know that right?" Sombra asked. Suddenly Pinkie Pie came out of nowhere.
"Oh...is that why?" Pinkie Pie asked. "That's why you don't want a party is it? Today's not just the day you were born, but the day you lost Radiant Hope." She said. "I...understand. I suppose what would make you the happiest would be to just spend time with Twilight, like you said." She said. "I'll...I'll go pack everything up. There was this pony, Cheese Sandwich, who really wanted to help throw you a party, but..." Pinkie Pie smiled. "Your happiness is my top priority. As that's my element. And if being alone with Twilight on the day of your birth and the day Radiant Hope died makes you the happiest...then I hearby will let you." She said and started to walk off.
Sombra's P.O.V.
...Dammit...I can be such a sensative guy sometimes...
"Hey Pinkie Pie..." I said.
"Yeah?" She spoke up.
"I changed...my mind. But let's not make this party just for my birthday. Grab that Cheese Sandwich guy...your making a birthday party to be followed by a memorial service. For Radiant Hope." I said. Pinkie Pie squeeled.
"Thank you Sombra!" Pinkie Pie said and left. Twilight came up to me and put a hoof around me.
"That was a nice thing you just did for Pinkie Pie. And I'm glad your deciding to move on." Twilight said. I hugged her.
"It's what Radiant Hope would've wanted me to do." I said, smiling. Twilight smiled back.
Later that day, the day was coming to a close as the party winded down and the memorial service for Radiant Hope began. After the service, I decided to give a speech.
"Thank you...thank you all so much for wanting to do this for me." I said. "Radiant Hope was the first pony that recognized me for who I am instead of what I am. And I appreciate you all so, so much for taking the time out of your busy schedules to do this for me. I...I couldn't be happier then I am right now..." I said, beginning to tear up.
"Not so fast!" Pinkie Pie said, as she and Cheese Sandwich stood next to a huge tarp. "We got one final gift for the birthday guy. We did our best with the picture of Radiant Hope you gave us...and this is the result!" Pinkie Pie said, and soon the tarp was taken down, only to reveal a statue of Radiant Hope.
"In memory of Radiant Hope; Sombra's First friend" was written on the plaque.
"I...this is..." I suddenly ran up to and hugged Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich both into a death hug. "THIS IS TOO MUCH, THANK YOU. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!" I said, the tears flowing freely. "This has been the best birthday ever! Thank you both so much!" I said. "And thank you Cheese Sandwich for helping Pinkie Pie so much." I said to Cheese Sandwich.
"It was nothing. Thank you for letting me team up with her. Speaking of.." Cheese Sandwich then gave Pinkie Pie that rubber chicken he was carrying. "You can have Boneless. Don't worry, I still have Boneless Two." Cheese Sandwich said before getting out another rubber chicken with a 2 marked on it.
"Thank you so much Cheese Sandwhich. Let's do this again sometime, alright?" Pinkie Pie asked him.
"Sure thing." He said and trotted on into the sunset.
I couldn't help but smile. I may not have originally wanted a birthday party today, but as I look upon the statue Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich got together for Radiant Hope's memory, I couldn't help but agree with my earlier statement.
This was the best birthday ever.
Author's Note
Including Sombra into the mix of characters allowed me to do something I've always wanted to do: Rewrite Pinkie Pride, Pinkie Pie's Key Episode. If Canterlot Wedding is a bad introduction to Shining Armor, then Pinkie Pride is a bad introduction to Cheese Sandwich. Seriously, I HATE the original Pinkie Pride, it's my least favorite of the key episodes. It doesn't really fit with the rest of the key episodes as it doesn't really challenge Pinkie Pie's element of laughter. For the longest time, I've wanted to do a rewrite for Pinkie Pride, but felt that without a third focus character that wasn't Rainbow Dash, I wouldn't be able to accomplish a good enough rewrite. Thankfully, Sombra being born on the same day Radiant Hope is murdered in cold blood would be a good enough challenge to Pinkie Pie's element. This is the result. I hope you enjoyed it.

Scootaloo's P.O.V.
Me and the rest of the Crusaders were having a great time before school before Diamond Tiara suddenly ran up to us all excited like.
"Crusaders, you'll never believe this, but until this winter, my gradma is coming over to visit." Diamond Tiara said with a smile.
"And that's good news how?" Apple Bloom asked.
"Because, I bet my mother was the way she was because my grandma was a coal miner. Now that right there is dedication. My mother probably became such a snuck-up snob in order to show up my grandma who is a very nice mare who values hard work." Diamond Tiara said. "And I bet once I tell her all the things you've been doing to get your cutie marks, she'll realize just how hard your working and will be okay with you being my friends." She said.
"Do you...really think that's a good idea?" Sweetie Belle asked.
"How bad could she possibly be in comparison to Spoiled Rich who; as I know; was a very bad influence for my best friend?" Silver Spoon said.
"Well...one hoof, Diamond Tiara's explanation makes just as much sense as Pinapple on Pizza; trust me, I tried it once, did not like. On the other hoof, you have a point Silver Spoon. I guess for now, we'll give her the benifit of the doubt. As you said, how bad can she possibly be?" I said.
...Me and my big mouth...
As I was laying in my bed at night, I suddenly felt someone crying into my coat, so I woke up groggily to see who; only to find Diamond Tiara all beat up and crying a lot.
"D-diamond Tiara...what happened to you?" I asked.
"R-remember when I said that my mom was a very bad pony?" Diamond Tiara asked.
"Yeah?" I questioned.
"Well, my grandma makes her look like a saint." Diamond Tiara said, continuing to cry.
"...Time to call in reinforcements..." I said.
Sombra's P.O.V.
I was walking with Twilight from a hayburger joint; we had just had a date there.
"I'm not going to lie...for my first date this was a very good date." Twilight said.
"Heh...it was a good date for my first too. I never got to go on a date with Radiant Hope. I'm glad that if I had to go on a date with anyone, it was you." I said, smiling.
"I agree." Twilight said, smiling. This was such a good date. I could already picture the second one.
"SOMBRA!" I suddenly heard Scootaloo Scream out. She soon approached us with a sobbing Diamond Tiara.
"Scootaloo...what happened to Diamond Tiara?" I asked.
"It's Diamond Tiara's Grandmother..." Scootaloo said, revealing scars across Diamond Tiara's Body. "She did this." She said.
"No...not again..." I said. "Twilight, I have business to take care of." I said.
"Oh whoever birthed Spoiled Rich has just signed their own death warrant." Twilight said.
"So...as I was telling you, Filthy Rich..." I heard from inside before I forced the doors open with black magic.
"You..." I said in a dark tone directed at the only mare in the room. "How could you do something like that?" I said, my dark tone unwavering.
"What the...who are you?!" The mare asked.
"This, Obsidian Heart, is the stallion I warned you about when you beat up my daughter." Filthy Rich said. "You crossed the line, and you caused my daughter grief. No doubt she told one of her; as you call them; trash friends and they passed along the message." Filthy Rich said.
"What does this Stallion know of grief?" Obsidian Heart asked.
"More then you think." I said, still giving her my dark tone. "I'm only going to tell you once nicely: Get out of town and don't ever return." I told her.
"You don't give the orders around here!" Obsidian Heart said.
"Shame." I said, preparing a spell. "I did say I asked nicely." I added before teleporting us both outside the house and at the train station, my wings flaring up all the while.
"You...your an..." Obsidian Heart had realized too late that she had just screwed up.
"Your lucky I'm letting you live for now. Because if I ever catch you in Ponyville again, I will have you executed on the orders of the Crown!" I glared at Obsidian Heart.
"Y-yes your highness..." Obsidian Heart said before I teleported her to Manehatten. I retuned to the Rich's mansion. Twilight was smiling when she saw that I had no blood on me.
"So what happened?" Twilight asked me.
"Simple: I teleported her to Manehatten and told her that if she ever returned, she would be executed by order of the crown." I said.
"It's nice to know that you didn't resort to killing her outright." Twilight said, smiling as she began healing Diamond Tiara.
"I do hope her mental wounds will heal." I said.
"I'll be fine..." Diamond Tiara said. "I have my friends the Crusaders, I have my first best friend Silver Spoon, and I have my father. That's all I need." She added.
"First best friend?" Scootaloo asked, confused.
"Scoots...what you've done for me today...goes beyond just being one of my friends. If it's okay...I'd like you to be my second best friend." Diamond tiara said, smiling.
"What I did today Diamond Tiara..." Scootaloo said, wing hugging Diamond Tiara. "I'd do for the crusaders too. I'd do it for all my friends." She said.
"Regardless, I thank you." Diamond Tiara said.
"Well I'm not Rainbow Dash's surrogate Sister for nothing." Scootaloo said.
"I can see why...I hope you'll be able to fly someday and..." Diamond Tiara paused. "If you want...me and Silver Spoon can help you three come up with something for the flag rally." She added. Scootaloo asked.
"You'd...you'd help us out?" Scootaloo asked.
"Consider it our thanks for this. I didn't want to be participating for something athletic anyways." Diamond Tiara said. "That honor should belong to you and your friends." She said, smiling.
"You impress me, Diamond tiara." I said. "If you ever want to talk, I'm willing to listen." I said.
"Thank you, Prince Sombra." Diamond Tiara said.
X's P.O.V.
Tomorrow, me and Silver Spoon help the crusaders, and in doing so...the trio will discover something deeper as will I.

Twilight's P.O.V.
"It's been a while since we've had a proper date night like this..." I said to Sombra.
"Well, your lucky you have me beside you to help lighten all that learning you've been doing since we've returned. Seems Celestia really has been wanting to make sure you understood the politics side of being the newest Princess." Sombra said.
"You make it bearable, I'll admit; having you with me making sure I'm nice and relaxed throughout it all is very nice of you." I said.
"I may have ruled as a Tyrant, but I know how to treat a lady." Sombra said.
"It's nice to hear that. I suppose even though you never got to go on a date with her, your experience with Radiant Hope has made sure you pull this off right." I said.
"Please...let us not talk about her tonight. Let us focus on us." Sombra said. "After all, tonight is a night for us, and not for our pasts." He said. "So let us enjoy the here and now." He added.
"Sombra, your such a smooth talker and I love it..." I said. I shook my head. "Sorry...it's just...I don't think I've ever felt this strongly towards any of my friends for any reason. Let alone another stallion." I said.
"I too feel as strongly as you do; I had thought that after she who shall not be named tonight I would never find it in me to love again." Sombra said, and then put his hooves together with mine. "But I do know this: You have managed to bring those feeling to light once more, and I want to forever feel them. This is not an engagement speech, not by a long shot..." Sombra said.
"Sombra, I do love you. And I also agree it's too early for an engagement..." I said. "Yet at the same time, being together with you...just feels right. It feels much different then the way I feel about my five friends." I added.
"It may be too early for an engagement...but Twilight...I do have one question for you." Sombra said. "Will you be my marefriend?" He asked. Tears welled up in my eyes before I suddenly tackled him.
"Yes Sombra! I will be your marefriend. So long as you'll be my coltfriend!" I said.
"Yes Twilight...I will be your coltfriend." Sombra said, smiling. Everyone at the dinner enjoyed our happiness before the night continued.
Later, we arrived back at the library to Spike.
"Whoa...you two look bright and cheery...did something happen?" Spike asked.
"Yes...you could say that." I told my number one assistant. "Me and Sombra have officially decided to be each other's special someponies." I said, smiling.
"Took you two long enough...was wondering when you'd agree to it." Spike said. I noticed Sombra's questionable look at me.
"Sombra, a special somepony is a modern day term for addressing yourself and your romantic interest." I said. "It's how people discribe the two of you being together: Special Someponies." I added. "I may address you as my coltfriend, and you may address me as your marefriend, but for others to address us both together, they call us being each other's special someponies." I explained.
"Every day, I learn something new about your modern day colture." Sombra said. Suddenly a pastel female earth pony was behind us.
"Princess Twilight..." She said. "I'm glad you just got back...I need a book about treating marefriends." She said.
"Err...aren't you already a mare?" Sombra asked. I laughed before grabbing the book and giving it to Bon Bon.
"So, finally deciding to chase after Lyra are you? I was wondering what was taking you so long. Go get her, Bon Bon." I said.
"Thank you...thank you so much Princess." Bon Bon said and left. Sombra was looking at me wierd.
"Since...when was it okay for mares to date other mares?" Sombra asked.
"Ponyville is the only place where gay couples are even allowed in the first place." I said. "Though it is often lesbians couples, the fact remains all the same. It's due to the fact that there are so many mares here to begin with." I explained.
"I did notice just how many mares live here...then again, I suppose I shouldn't judge others based on how they feel towards other ponies." Sombra said. "If I do that, I'm no different then the bullies who bullied me." He added.
"Exactly. And I've been wondering for a while when Bon Bon and Lyra were going to get together. I suppose it's about time." I said.
"I suppose if I must live here, I'll have to get used to this." Sombra said.
"Indeed you will." I said.

Author's Note
Even though this is the season finale to season 1 of this story, there is an epilogue involving some words from Twilight as well as the reveal of the one who won the reference contest. Also, prepare for Sombra to get REALLY pissed off at Tirek.
Season 1: Episode 22 - Twilight's Kingdom
Sombra was yelling out for Twilight, which caught Tirek's attention.
"Someone is already looking for Twilight?" Tirek asked Discord.
"Oh shit...I totally forgot about him ." The draconques said. "That would be Sombra...the King of Shadows." Discord informed Tirek.
"He is an alicorn as well I see...interesting. Saved me the trouble of finding him..." Tirek said and launched a magic blast towards Sombra which sent the stallion flying.
"Ow!" Sombra said and got up. "What the...DISCORD?!" Sombra looked over at the Draconques. "YOU DARE BETRAY THE ONLY FRIENDS YOU KNOW?! YOUR NO DIFFERENT THEN HE IS NOW!" Sombra said, and began to attack the both of them.
"Gah!" Tirek said, being blown back by Sombra's blast.
"SHIIIIIIIIIT!" Discord yelled out.
"Now I'm going to deal with the both of you, and make sure Tirek here returns all the magic he stole." Sombra said.
"No. No you won't." Tirek said, and tried draining Sombra of his magic only for the centaur to find himself unable to. "What is the meaning of this?" Tirek asked.
"Did you forget Tirek? A pony's magic is tied to their cutie mark. And you can't take magic from a pony who has none." Sombra showed off his flank. "And being half-umbrum means I will never be able to gain a cutie mark. Meaning draining magic from me is impossible." Sombra said, grinning.
"So you say however...there is still one here who I can siphon magic from." Tirek said.
"Oh yeah? And whose that?" Sombra asked. Suddenly out of the blue, Tirek absorbed Discord's magic.
"What? How dare you? You said that we were friends!" Discord said.
"Idiot...I had every intention of betraying you from the start. That little trinket I gave you belonged to someone just as stupid as you are." Tirek said.
"How did you really NOT see that one coming? Fucking idiot..." Sombra said. He teleported away to get some distance from the centaur. The Center then charged Sombra which destroyed the statue of Radiant Hope in the process as well as the ponyville elementry playground.
"OH YOU DID NOT JUST DESTROY THAT STATUE!" Sombra yelled out.
"Oh please...that statue was but..." Tirek was suddenly interupted by a blast stronger then anything Sombra had ever been seen using before.
"Whoa...what the..." Discord said.
"I didn't know Sombra could do THAT!" Rainbow Dash said.
"YOU FUCKING MONSTER! HOW DARE YOU DESTROY THAT STATUE!" Sombra said, unleashing another powerful blast at Tirek, pushing the Centaur further.
"Uh oh..." Fluttershy said.
"NOT good..." Applejack said.
"THAT STATUE WAS ALL I HAD LEFT OF A MARE THAT WAS MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD!" Sombra said, unleashing yet another powerful blast at Tirek.
"Sombra is flying off the rails!" Pinkie Pie said.
"Honestly, I can hardly blame him..." Rarity said.
"FOR DESTROYING THE STATUE OF RADIANT HOPE, I SOMBRA, KING OF SHADOWS, SENTANCE YOU TO DEATH!" Sombra yelled out striking Tirek with yet another powerful blast.
"Gah! Okay this stallion is no longer holding back now!" Tirek said.
"WHAT DID YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN WHEN YOU DESTROYED THAT STATUE BUDDY?" Rainbow Dash yelled out. "Now your gonna get it!" She said.
There was a huge power struggle between the two before Tirek decided he had enough and trapped Sombra, Discord, and the elements in an unbreakable cage.
"HEY!" Sombra said.
"Since I can't drain your magic, I'll just set you aside while I seek out Princess Twilight." Tirek said.
Twilight willingly gave up her magic after Tirek released all her friends; which included Discord.
"Twilight..." Discord said. "I thought Tirek gave me this amulet as a symbol of our friendship, only to find out it was a lie..." He said. "But when I say that I am giving you this as a symbol of our friendship, I am telling the truth." Discord added before handing Twilight the amulet.
"This...this has to be the final key!" Twilight said.
"Let's not waste any time!" Sombra said, and lead the charge to the Tree of Harmony.
"Together...we have to do this together. Even you Sombra." Twilight said.
"Me?" Sombra asked.
"Your willingness to take on Tirek long enough for Twilight to come showed loyalty." Rainbow Dash said.
"You were honest about how the statue of Radiant Hope was important to you." Applejack said.
"And before that you expressed kindness towards others as you changed your ways to make a better ponyville." Fluttershy said.
"You expressed generosity and allowed Diamond Tiara's grandmother to live even though she didn't deserve it." Rarity said.
"And you really allowed yourself to let go of your past and enjoy laughing at your own birthday party even though the memory of Radiant Hope's death was strong with you." Pinkie Pie said.
"You've expressed every element of Harmony in the time we've come to know you Sombra...so you deserve to do this with us." Twilight said.
"You...your right!" Sombra said, and joined Twilight in turning her key alongside the elements. Thus the main 6 were able to use the Rainbow Power to defeat Tirek and return all the magic to the land.
And then, Twilight got a brand new castle, which Celestia was more then happy to entrust to the lavander alicorn.
"But there is one more announcement to make besides Twilight's princess status..." Celestia said and opened the doors to the map room. "Even if the princess of friendship cannot rule without her friends, she also cannot rule without her husband: The King of Shadows." The white alicorn said. Sombra noticed he had a throne litterally right next to Twilight's. It was marked with the symbol of Sombra's old horn...as if to demonstrate that it was his.
"Wait...doesn't that make me the Queen of Shadows?" Twilight asked.
"Yes Twilight. It does. You and Sombra possess two tittles each. One for your statuses as being the King and Queen of Shadows, one for you Twilight as the Princess of Friendship..." Celestia turned to Sombra. "And you, Sombra, as the Prince of Harmony." She added.
"But...we're not legally married yet...and we're just special someponies..." Sombra said.
"I know. Even the Tree of Harmony knows. But you and Twilgiht are meant to rule together." Celestia said. "I have a feeling this will allow the two of you to grow even closer together. And with time, I would not be surprised if you became married." She added.
For the first time since anyone had seen him, Sombra cried tears of happiness.
For him, this was all the proof he needed....
Twilight...is Raidiant Hope reborn...I'm sure of it now... Were Sombra's thoughts as Twilight brought him into a wing hug.

Silver Spoon's P.O.V.
I groaned as another day dawned. I was personally getting tired of having to deal with not just one, but two versions of Diamond Tiara running around. Seeing as this was the weekend, I decided to get up early and head to the club house.
"Oh hey, yer here early Silver Spoon." Apple Bloom said.
"Yeah. For good reason. Listen...can you grab Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo and meet me at the castle? There's something I need to tell everyone. It's something I really need to tell Twilight about specifically." I said.
"Sure thing Silver Spoon." Apple Bloom said and left.
"...No turning back..." Silver Spoon said and headed off.
Third Person P.O.V.
X met with her dopleganger in a dark ally.
"I don't know why your still hanging around here. Your still just as much of a liar as when you left." X said.
"You know as well as I do that you can't expect Silver Spoon to keep our whole secret a secret forever." Y said.
"Admittedly, yes I know that. But I'm personally glad I never have to lie to anyone anymore. Telling the truth has set me free." X said.
"So much for that. Didn't stop you from lying about who you are." Y argued.
"How do you know about that?" X asked.
"I'm you, remember? I may not have the same body as you anymore, but sometimes having the same mind as you stinks." Y said. X went wide eyed.
"Oh no! You think the magic that's keeping us apart is going to reunnite us soon?!" X asked.
"Oh I wish. Then I can go back to being me." Y said.
"Your just jealous that lying was driving away others. And now I'm friends with who you kept calling talentless blank flanks; the cutie mark crusaders have shown me how wrong it was to lie to them." X brought up.
"Ugh...don't remind me. Again, having the same mind as you stinks. Sometimes the things you do bleed over and effect me. Must be part of that strange crystal we broke." Y said.
"Then we need Twilight's help. Better to let her know about this rather then risk Silver Spoon telling everything." X said.
"...Now that much I can agree with." Y said and the two Diamond Tiaras headed towards Twilight's castle.
"Thank you so much for waiting on me." Silver Spoon said.
"So spill it, what's this about? And why didn't you invite Diamond Tiara?" Scootaloo asked.
"This actually concerns her. See she wasn't...truthful about what happened that one day we walked in on Twilight Time." Silver Spoon said.
"What do you mean? I didn't discover anything that had been touched." Twilight said.
"You wouldn't. Nothing would've given off that impression. She touched that strange gem thing." Silver Spoon said.
"Oh you mean the Split Diamond thing Twilight was teaching us about?" Sweetie Belle asked. "She was teaching us about various gems and had one of the few Split Diamonds in existance." She added.
"I assume that revolves around you wanting to know more about gems in case you had the same gem talent as your sister." Silver Spoon said. A nod from Sweetie Belle confirmed this. "Well...about that diamond...Diamond Tiara touched it and..." Silver Spoon said when the door to the throne room opened and in came not just one, but two Diamond Tiaras.
"...What the..." Apple Bloom was shocked.
"...Told you we should've just gone straight for the castle but no; you just HAD to make sure no one saw us together." The Daimond Tiara on the right said.
"Well obviously, judging by everpony's reaction to there being two of me, you understand why now." The Diamond Tiara on the left said.
"...This happened..." Silver Spoon finished.
"Since when did Diamond Tiara use the mirror pool?" Sweetie Belle asked.
"This was a result of touching that thing you called the Split Diamond; for some reason it split Diamond Tiara into two distinct halves: One that only tells the truth and one that only tells fibs." Silver Spoon said.
"What's a fib?" Scootaloo asked.
"Scootaloo, sayin' someone is fibbin' is the same as saying someone is lyin'." Apple Bloom said.
"That's Apple Bloom for you." The Diamond Tiara on the left said. "She's smart and good with all sorts of things. I wouldn't be surprised if her cutie mark was related to her hoofwork with a dash of book smart blended in for good measure." She added.
"So...if there are two of you...which one of you is the real diamond tiara?" Twilight asked.
"That's just the thing...we both are the real Diamond Tiara." The one on the left said. "But if that's confusing, you can simply call me X and the liar Y for now until we find a way to undo this split." She added.
"Which I didn't agree to at first, but Silver Spoon just HAD to beg." The Diamond Tiara on the right said.
"Stop lying." The left one said.
"We can't know which to call which without figuring out which one of you is the liar." Sweetie Belle said.
"I got an idea. This reminds me of an old riddle from back in the day about a traveler trying to get to the village of truthtellers called 'truthsville' but there's a village of liars next to it called liarsburg. The riddle goes that in a fork in the road, the traveler comes across someone from one the two villages at the crossroads. But with no way of knowing which village the villager is from, they are stuck. In the riddle's scenario, what does the traveler say to the villager to get him to show him the way to truthsville?" Sombra asked.
"I hate riddles..." Scootaloo said.
"Relax, for the answer is simple: The traveler is meant to ask the villager to take the traveler to the villager's own village." Sombra asked.
"I don't get it..." Scootaloo said.
"Ah get it: Because no matter which villager it is, regardless if it's a truthteller or a liar, the villager will take the traveler to Truthsville." Apple Bloom asked.
"Seriously? Why? Wouldn't the liar take the traveler to liarsburg?" Scootaloo asked.
"No, because then that would be telling the truth. Remember: The lying villager on purpose has to lie to the traveler, so if the lying villager took the traveler to liarsburg, well then that would be telling the truth. The truthteller tells the truth, so of course they'd take the traveler to truthsville, but the lying villager would also take the traveler to truthsville because that isn't their own village because that would be lying." Apple Bloom explained.
"Apple Bloom is the smartest mare ever~" The Diamond Tiara on the left said.
"Then how do we know which diamond tiara is telling the truth?" Twilight asked.
"Simple." Sombra looked at both Diamond Tiaras. "I want you two use one hoof to point at yourself. And I don't mean as in you as Diamond Tiara, I mean I want you to physically point at your own body." He said. This caused the Diamond Tiara on the left to point a hoof at herself but the one of the right to point towards the diamond tiara on the left. "Just as I thought..." Sombra said.
"What do you mean?" Twilight asked.
"The one of the left is X and the one on the right is Y." Sombra said.
"That was easy." An electronic voice said from somewhere after a click was heard.
"...Sorry." Spike said, putting away a random button he just pushed.
"So now, how do we go about making them become one again? As good as it is that X has always been honest with us, I would like Diamond Tiara to go back to being just one pony again." Silver Spoon said.
"Ugh! Why bother?!" Y asked. "I don't ever want to see you blank flanks after this." She added.
"Stop lying. I wish I knew what to do, but I've tried everything I can think of to reconcile with her." X said.
"Well the Split Diamond is supposed to wear off once the two of you reconcile so..." Twilight said. "Until you do so, your stuck like this." She said.
"Great...just great. Guess I'm leaving then." Y said.
"You are not going anywhere!" X said. "It's time we stopped this back and forth nonesense." She added.
"Ugh...when will you learn that we're better off without each other?" Y said.
"Actually...therein lies the problem as there's still the matter of who X is on Slade's client list, and I think I have my answer: One of you is the one that hired Slade, so I want the truth: Which one of you did it?" Sombra asked.
"Uh..." Both kind of dronned off at that.
"...Oh come on, you mean you did it together? I can only punish one of you, so either you reconcile and I consider that enough, or I'll force you to pick someone to take the fall." Sombra said.
"But then they'll just go back and forth trying to throw each other under the bus. As much as it pains me to say it, if they don't reconcile, they are both going to have to be punished." Twilight said.
"! Then it was Y. She was the one specifically who was the one Slade was talking to the entire time after all." X said.
"What? How dare you throw me under the bus so quickly! I was the one that witnessed the killing." Y said.
"Yeah, but that information was bled to me, so I was able to testify instead of you so bonus points on my end." X said.
"Ugh...see? This is why I said they'll both have to be punished." Twilight said.
"You can't do that!" Both of them said.
"I'm afraid it's the rules." Twilight said.
"There has to be some way to get them to reconcile..." Sweetie Belle asked.
"But with one being unable to tell nothing but lies, how do we accomplish that?" Apple Bloom asked.
"You mean we're in the middle of a riddle? I HATE RIDDLES!" Scootaloo said.
"And unlike my riddle, we have two ponies here: One truth teller and one liar. We have to ask something that both of them will have no choice but to agree on." Sombra said.
"Better hurry...I'm ready to send for Celestia." Spike said. Everyone was nervous and in a panic. But then...ironically, it was Scootaloo to the rescue.
"Wait!" Scootaloo said and went up to the two Diamond Tiaras. "Diamond Tiaras...what would say if I were to tell you I think of you like a sister?" She asked. The two Diamond Tiaras turned towards each other. Both knew the answer as it was both the truth and a lie....
"We would say your crazy yet we appreciate the sentiment." They both said at once. Suddenly without warning both of them began to glow and soon merged into just one Diamond Tiara again.
"...Ow..." The merged Diamond Tiara said. "Silver Spoon, remind me to listen to Twilight from now on when she says not to touch anything." She added.
"She's back!" Silver Spoon exclaimed.
"But did she keep all of X & Y's memories?" Scootaloo asked.
"How can I forget what you did for me with my grandmother?" Diamond Tiara asked. "I meant what I said when I was split in two. Just because I'm back to being one pony again doesn't mean I've gone back to the way I was before all this mess. I still remember everything my truth telling half did with you all. I don't know why I was so hell bent on lying to everyone, and ultimately myself too." Diamond Tiara said.
"Ironic isn't it? It took you being split apart to stop being so mean." Apple Bloom said.
"I guess when you put it that way, yeah, it is rather ironic." Diamond Tiara said before she, Silver Spoon, and the CMC all burst out laughing. "Seriously, I am so glad to be back to being just ONE Diamond Tiara. Thanks Blank Flanks." Diamond Tiara said. The CMC just glared at her before she suddenly burst out laughing again. "Sorry! Had to get that in one last time you guys. Chill." Diamond Tiara said. The CMC just shook their heads.
"Well it's good to know your back to normal now." Scootaloo said.
"Heh...it's good to be back. And I really do hope you gals get your talents soon. I would love that." Diamond Tiara said.
"This is strange..." Sombra said. "When Diamond Tiara murged back into one again, X's name disappeared from Slade's list." He added.
"X was just an alias half of me was using. Still, I don't feel like reconciling with myself is enough to make up for that..." Diamond Tiara said. "From now on, I promise to be a better Pony." She added.
"Is that the truth, or a lie?" Apple Bloom asked. Diamond Tiara was suddenly Apple Bloom's face.
"It's just as much of a truth as this is." Diamond Tiara said before suddenly kissing Apple Bloom on the lips right there and then.
"That...was...whoa..." Apple Bloom said. "How long have you been holdin' back from doing that?" She asked.
"Too long." Diamond Tiara said. "Like I said, I wasn't just lying to everyone before, I was lying to myself. I like mares, and of all the mares I've gotten to know, your the one I've had my eye on the longest." Diamond Tiara said.
"This ending bit just turned into a romance thing, didn't it?" Silver Spoon asked. Suddenly Pinkie Pie showed up.
"HEY I'M THE ONE WHO BREAKS THE FOURTH WALL AROUND HERE!" Pinkie Pie yelled out.

Yes I just made a staples joke in this chapter. Live with it. Also, this is sort of a longer chapter. Once I got to the point of the reconcile, I just could not split it up. Especilally the ending part where I decided to put the AppleTiara/DiamondBloom ship in this story.

Season 2: Episode 3 - When Winter Comes Early
Sombra and Twilight were enjoying the nice fall season as things began to cool down for winter.
"...So your saying that when spring time rolls around, no magic at all will be used to usher it in?" Sombra asked as the two were with Fluttershy and Discord having a nice fall picnic.
"Ponyville was founded by earth ponies, but not to worry, after last year I already have a plan in place on how to organize the situation." Twilight said.
"Yeah um...before Twilight came around, Spring would always come late to ponyville. And when it looked like it would arrive late again last year, Twilight used her whole thing of being organized to actually allow us to fix the problems that usually crop up." Fluttershy said. "But um...not before actually trying to do everything else first besides you know...the flying stuff. She wasn't an alicorn at that point." She added.
"Are you sure you don't want me to simply wisk it away?" Discord asked.
"Yes. And please don't try and make things chaotic during Winter Wrap Up day would you please? It's important that we do this the right way and without incident. I promise you though, the day after you and I can go have some controlled chaotic fun in the Everfree Forest." Fluttershy said.
"Deal." Discord said.
"And if I hear of any incident that occurs, your getting a dark magic blast to the face." Sombra said. Suddenly something was happening in Cloudsdale. "...What's going on up there?" Sombra asked. Twilight's eyes went wide.
"Brace yourselves everyone...WINTER IS COMING!" Twilight shouted.
"I thought it was already coming." Discord brought up.
"IT'S COMING EARLY!" Twilight yelled.
"SAY WHAT?!" Sombra exclaimed. But before he had any time to get an answer, suddenly a wave of snow was envoloping Ponyville.
"...Rainbow Dash has a what now?" Sombra asked; the entirity of Ponyville was now covered in snow.
"She has a pet tortoise and they hibernate during the winter. When Rainbow Dash found this out, she went through the usual stages of grief: Denail followed by anger, then Bargening. I'm guessing our early winter was a result of Rainbow Dash trying to stop winter from coming because she's grown quite attached to her pet, who she named Tank." Twilight explained.
"It's just one season right? She'll have Tank back when Spring time rolls around." Sombra said.
"...You don't know Rainbow Dash very well do you, Sombra?" Twilight asked. "Knowing her, she probably had all kinds of winter based activities in mind to spend time with Tank, not knowing this information beforehand." She added.
"...Oof..." Sombra said. "Yeah I guess I can understand that much. Should we check on her?" Sombra asked.
"Sure." Twilight said.
Later on, after Rainbow Dash finally accepted that Tank would hibernate through winter, Sombra put a hoof on Rainbow Dash after she read to him for a bit.
"Don't be too broken up over this. At the very least you'll get to see him again once Springtime comes. It's not like he's going to be gone forever." Sombra said. That actually cheered Rainbow Dash up.
"Your right. I guess it is better then him dying. I really do wish I could've done some of the stuff I had planned to do with the pet I've grown to love." Rainbow Dash said.
"There are things I wish I could've done with Radiant Hope, but Twilight has allowed me to continue to do those things. Maybe you should ask Fluttershy if there's an animal of hers you can look after during winter time. It wouldn't be the same as Tank sure, but at least you'd have some form of pet to look after." Sombra said.
"...Your right. Why are you so good at this stuff anyways? You really do know how grief feels don't you?" Rainbow Dash asked. "I may have had some reservations still, but after a talk like that Sombra, I think I can consider you one of my friends. So...I guess I forgive you about the whole Crystal Empire thing." She added.
"It was nothing." Sombra said. He went back to Twilight.
"Looks like somepony just made a connection with Rainbow Dash." Twilight said. "I think she'll finally start hanging out with you from here on out. And that's good. I was really hoping all of my friends would sign off on us being together." She added.
"Never underestimate me." Sombra said with a smile.
While the rest of wintertime was uneventful, the words of Sombra struck a cord with Rainbow Dash that day. Which made what Twilight wanted to ask Sombra about when Summertime arrived all the more important. That day sealed the deal for Twilight, she was now more then certain that she and Sombra were meant to be together forever.
...
High above the mortal plane, looking down on her descendent and Sombra from above, the ghost of Radiant Hope let a single tear fall down her cheek.
"...Twilight Sparkle...thank you for choosing the right thing..." Radiant Hope's ghost said before it went off to rejoining the other souls in paradise.

Season 2: Episode 4 - A Thin Line Divides Light & Darkness
It was the day after Winter Wrap up, and Sombra was enjoying some time. Twilight had went up to Canterlot to reconcile with her old Canterlot friends. This left Sombra behind at the castle.
However, as he was doing a quick sweep of the castle, suddenly a myserious creature that was transparent showed up.
"What the hell; who are you?!" Sombra exclaimed.
"Relax. I am no enemy. My name is Shallor. When I was alive, I held the title of being the Shadow Lord." The mysterious being said.
"Shadow Lord? Wait how long have you been dead?" Sombra asked.
"Longer then your world's recorded history, even before the time when you were banished by the two sisters." Shallor stated. "But that's not important. I have appeared to you because of this." He added. Shallor proceeded to show off a shard of something. "This is a shard of The Overseer's staff. The other seven shards have been scattered across your world and found their way to seven distinct ponies. You need to find those shards and take them from the ponies who hold them. You will have to most likely battle those ponies when you do however." Shallor explained.
"Why would I need to do that?" Sombra asked.
"Because by obtaining those shards, those ponies became overwhelmed by the light held within the shards of the staff. Only you and I are fully immune to this side effect. Me because I am dead, and you because of what you are." Shallor said. "Once you've restored the staff and brought it back here to Twilight's Castle, the Overseer will be restored to normal and he will no doubt crown you properly as the Shadow King." He added.
"But...isn't light a good thing?" Sombra asked.
"Too much light is just as bad as too much darkness. And those staff shards are making those ponies act very evil despite being filled with light. That's why people like you and me exist though: We are ones who can exist on the thin line that divides light and darkness. There is a force that can take out the ones overwhelmed by the light and those whose hearts are pure darkness. That force is the source of your power: It is the power of Shadow." Shallor said.
"The Power of Shadow..." Sombra said. "...I'll have to write Twilight a letter in case she gets back before I do. I do assume you can get me a map of the locations of the seven ponies overwhelmed by the light." He added.
"You won't need a map. The shard I gave you have will guide you to them." Shallor said.
"That admittedly makes more sense." Sombra said and then headed off.
"Once you become the Shadow King, your lack of a cutie mark will be rectified." Shallor said.
Using the one staff shard he was given, Sombra arrived first in Apalosa, where a shariff was making arrests for the littest things.
"...Huh. Didn't think these ponies would be so easily found." Sombra said as be began battling the local shariff. Eventually Sombra managed to defeat the shariff and claim the second staff shard.
The shards continued to guide Sombra, this time to Manehatten.
"This place is huge." Sombra said. But then noticed that something weird was going on in a nearby bar. Once inside, Sombra discovered that the barkeep was forcing everypony inside to become drunk and never leave. "These shards have some crazy ways of making ponies get overwhelmed by light." Sombra said and began battling the barkeep.
Eventually Sombra came out on top and retrieved the third staff shard.
Things like this would continue as Sombra collected the staff shards, with each one effecting each pony differently.
"I'm guessing that these ponies being overwhelmed by the light makes them do what they are best at doing to such extreme levels that it would cause problems for all involved. First that sheriff arresting ponies for the simplest of crimes, then that barkeep forcing other ponies to get drunk, then there was that stage magician forcing ponies to watch her show non-stop with no bathroom breaks. Now I can see why Shallor said that too much light is just as bad as too much darkness: If you tip one way too much, you'll end up becoming obsessed with what your doing and end up causing problems no matter if it's because of the light or because of darkness." Sombra explained. "I'm guessing that's why the power of shadow exists on that thin line that divides light and darkness; Shadow is there to control the light and make sure darkness doesn't become too strong for the light to deal with. It's as if there's a balance in all things." He continued.
Sombra eventually returned to the Castle of Friendship with the eight staff shards with Twilight and Spike waiting for him. Plus a unicorn mare Sombra has never met before.
"Sombra, your back. Did you get those shard things you were after?" Twilight asked.
"I did. Whose the new mare?" Sombra asked.
"This is my old friend Moondancer. I had to spend a few days to patch things up with her, and I figured I would introduce you two." Twilight said. Moondancer approuched Sombra.
"So...Twilight says you've been treating her well. Is this true?" Moondancer said. Obviously Twilight left out all the special details.
"Yes. I apologize if it caused you two any problems." Sombra said.
"It's nothing you did. But Twilight did do a lot to make up for skipping out on my party the day before she left canterlot." Moondancer said. "At least she made up for it and helped me reconnect with some old friends of mine too." She added.
"That sounds like something Twilight would do." Sombra said. Suddenly the mysterious translucent creature showed up again.
"GAH!" Twilight was taken off guard.
"GHOST!" Moondancer shouted and hid under the map table.
"I see you have collected the missing shards of the Observer's Staff. Good. I can take things from here." Shallor said before he used some kind of ability to take the shards from Sombra.
"Wow, a real life ghost. I must make notes of this!" Twilight said, writing things down.
"Somethings never change." Moondancer said with a sigh but smiled all the same. Admittedly she was curious too. Shallor and Sombra said nothing as the former began to use other powers to make the shards come together into one staff.
"So, this is the completed form of the Observer's staff..." Sombra observed.
"Yes. It was broken apart when..." Shallor was interupted when suddenly a dark mist came out of the staff. "...Funny, that's not supposed to happen." He added before a dark figure suddenly appeared from the staff.
"WHAT IS THAT THING?!" Moondancer exclaimed.
"I don't know; this was not supposed to happen. I was just told how to restore the staff, I was not told about some safty precaution." Shallor said.
"Now I'm going to have to fight this thing? Well alright then." Sombra said. Sombra managed to eventually defeat the mysterious shadow creature which made the staff reappear and then a light shine forth. When it died down, holding onto the staff was a mysterious individual whose entire identity was obscured.
"Ah it'd good to be back. Thought I was forever gone after that mysterious black creature thing destroyed my staff." The new individual said.
"What the what now?" Twilight asked.

Season 2: Episode 5 - The Observer Returns
"Shallor, I'm guessing..." The Observer said.
"Yeah. You know who wanted me to find someone who could take up my mantle and have them restore you back to normal. But what was with that black shadow copy of you?" Shallor said.
"Black shadow copy you say? I see. Apparently the black beast that destroyed my staff placed a curse on it for if it was ever restored." The Observer said.
"Well with that, I'm going back to the afterlife; got a job to do with those that have been sentanced to an eternity in The Beyond." Shallor said before he mysteriously vanished.
"Who are you?" Twilight asked.
"Call me The Observer. I observe all living things. Though for the past several months my staff was broken into eight pieces during which time I could not do my job." The Observer said.
"Are you and that staff linked?" Moondancer asked.
"The staff is me. I am the staff. We are one and the same. How else do you think an old geezer like me is still around after thousands upon millions of centuries." The Observer said.
"That, is old. Like really really old." Sombra said.
"Sombra I believe is your name. Thanks to you, I am whole again. I can think of nothing more then to name you as the Shadow King." The Observer said.
"But Princess Celestia already gave Sombra that title. Sort of." Twilight said.
"She may be able to give it, but it holds no real meaning or power without my permission. I get the final say in such matters after all." The Overseer said. "She may have god-like powers, but there are actual gods with power that surpasses that of Celestia. I should know, I am technically one of them." The Observer said. "But while all Alicorns can use power that rivals that of the gods, they don't have the same authority as we do. Now then Sombra, there is one other thing I must do before I go." He added.
"What one other thing?" Sombra asked.
"This." The Observer suddenly shot a beam from his staff at Sombra. Once the beam died down, Twilight gasped.
"Sombra...your flanks..." Twilight said. Confused, Sombra looked at them. He gasped. He suddenly had a cutie mark, that of a red crystal.
"Your powers may be based in darkness, but inside of your shell is a heart of light. While normally Umbras cannot get Cutie Marks, true gods such as myself can give them out if they are earned just like any other pony from your world." The Observer said. "And you Sombra have earned this one." He added.
"I..." Sombra paused. "I honestly don't know what to say. Outside of thank you; thank you so much Observer." Sombra said.
"Save your thanks. You have earned your mark beyond a shadow of a doubt. Please no laughing." The Observer said before began to glow. "It is time for me to go. But we shall meet again. I promise you that." He said and then vanished into thin air.
"That was something else. And looked really cool too." Moondancer said. Sombra took another look at his cutie mark.
"How fitting is it that my cutie mark is that of a red crystal? I certainly did not see that one coming." Sombra asked.
"Well now it's really official Sombra: You are the King of Shadows." Twilight said. "I think I'm going to write a letter to Celestia and explain to her what all just happened here. But I may need you to explain me a few details." She added. Sombra smiled.
"I think I can help you with that." Sombra said.
"Oooo! I want to help too!" Moondancer said. As they headed off to write the later, suddenly Twilight noticed Sombra's throne.
"Wait look Sombra!" Twilight said and pointed at Sombra's throne. Sure enough, the design on it had changed from the horn Sombra had to the cutie mark he now possessed.
"The castle is connected to the tree of harmony, so it must have changed accordingly." Sombra said.
"Yeah. That's what I was thinking. More information to tell Celestia." Twilight said. Sombra chuckled.
"Yeah. We should do that now before we forget." Sombra said.
Of all the things that could've happened this week, Sombra certainly didn't expect to be getting a cutie mark out of it.
Twilight's P.O.V.
That change should have been a sign now that I look back on it. A sign that Sombra was going to be playing a big role coming up.
But that will be something to bring up when the time is right. Still, looking back on this event, I should've figured how important Sombra would be to the next big danger to equestria.
When it did happen, then Sombra's expertise on Grief and Sadness would prove to be an invaluable tool.
And without it, I can safely say things wouldn't have turned out like they would later on.

Season 2: Episode 6 - The Creator
As Twilight and Sombra enjoyed an indoor date, a mysterious ball of light descended into ponyville. Suddenly the light took on a brand new form as it touched the ground below.
While the light had taken the shape of an Alicorn Stallion, this was but a shell. This being has trancended the need for a mortal body, but given the nature of it's visit here, the being decided to use a form the people of this world would see as a position of authority.
God of Gods, Father of Creation, sculptor of worlds...
It is, The Creator.
"This was a nice change of pace. And I quite enjoyed it." Twilight said.
"Same here." Sombra said. Spike soon rushed into the map room where the duo was having their indoor date at.
"Alicorn Stallion...in Ponyville...headed this way..." Spike said as he tried to catch his breath from running so much.
"What in Tartarus is going on?" Twilight said. Soon a white Alicorn Stallion with a black mane & tail soon entered the map room.
"You must be Princess Twilight and King Sombra. It's a pleasure to meet the both of you." The Alicorn Stallion said.
"Your using some sort of illusion. Why?" Sombra asked.
"This was the best form I could think of to communicate with you mortal beings." The Stallion said.
"Mortal? I thought Alicorn were already immortal?" Twilight said.
"You'll live for much longer then normal yes, but not forever." The Stallion said. "I however..." They added before suddenly shedding their form into their true formless ball of light self.
"Holy Celestia..." Twilight said. "What are you?" She asked.
"I go by many titles, but no matter which one it is that one chooses to define me, they mean the exact same thing. I was once mortal like yourselves, until I discovered my true calling. I was soon creating like never before. Eventually, that creativity made me shed a mortal lifespan, and accended me beyond the natural limitations of a mortal being, making me reach immortality." The being said. "Eons passed after that, and soon I evolved even further, reaching god-hood. Soon after, I evolved beyond the need of a physical form. What you see before you, is my true form. But from time to time..." The being retook it's alicorn form. "...I do like to take on a form that's nothing more then a shell to hide what I really am. But I mean nothing any harm. Folks call me many things, but they all relate back to what I am called universally. People know me now, as The Creator." The being said.
"The Creator...so does that make you the creator of The Observer?" Sombra asked.
"Not exactly. While I have created many things, I have never messed with free will. The Observer was once like me, and has become immortal and achieved god-hood like I have. But I doubt anyone will ever evolve beyond the need for a physical form again." The Creator said. "Still, he and I are good friends. The Observer keeps on eye on the various things for me, and the only time I ever have to step foot amonst mortal kind, is if it's important. And wouldn't you know it, but it is." The Creator said. "I once created two sons to work with me in my crafting. One I gave a name which cannot be said by mortal tounge and can't be heard by mortal ears." The Creator said. "But the other, his brother, became the God of Two Sides. I named him Yin-Yang. Unfortunately, it seems that in this crafting process, Yin-Yang decided to betray his brother, and tried to kill a lot of my oldest son's creations known as The Immortals; a various collection of gods he decided to put in charge of your multi-verse after creating them. Yin-Yang managed to kill many of The Immortals before he was ultimately cornered by my oldest, a collection of surviving Immortals, and one Mortal Being. But Yin-Yang was crafty. After the group defeated Yin-Yang's own Immortal Creation Orabarous, Yin-Yang denated a bomb that killed the mortal being and several more immortals. However, he was captured afterwards. Upset over my youngest's betrayal, the first thing I did was I stripped Orabarous of his Immortal Status, reducing him to the state of an Eldrich Horror before I casted him out into the mortal coil; cursing him to wonder it forever as punishment for his part in my youngest's plan." The Creator explained.
"But what about Yin-Yang?" Twilight asked, voice laced with worry.
"Yin-yang I was much harsher towards. I cleaved his very soul into two and sent them to the farthest reaches of your multi-verse on separate polar points from each other." The Creator said. "I have come to you today to warn you that, the magics I used to keep my youngest's soul from becoming whole once more are weakening. Soon he will set his sights on your world. I want you to weaken him enough for me to renew the spell again. You won't be able to kill him I'm afraid. He is still an Immortal." He added.
"We'll do our part. I garentee it." Twilight said.
"That is all that I ask." The Creator said before he vanished in a bright light.

Season 2: Episode 7 - Romance Before Conflict
“So, some being asked us to beat the snot out of some other being enough for the first being to cast some spell to put them in a giant time out essentially.” Rainbow Dash said.
“Normally…everything complicated flies over your head, Rainbow.” Twilight said.
“Normally because it’s needlessly complicated. We just need to beat the crap of some bad guy enough so they can be put back in time out once they get out of time out. Nothing complicated to be had here.” Rainbow Dash said.
“I’m just curious as to what lengths someone would take for their soul to be split in two…” Fluttershy said.
“From what we were told, Yin-Yang; the one we are tasked with weakening; is responsible for killing nine others of his own kind plus one guy that wasn’t.” Sombra said.
“Ten deaths?! No wonder the guy was meant to be put in timeout until the end of time.” Rainbow Dash said.
“Must be kind of weird for his pa to hand down such a punishment; forced forever to watch as everything passes him by.” Applejack said.
“At least he wasn’t exiled like that minion he created. Ouroboros I think was the name.” Pinkie Pie said.
“Yeah. The thing we should probably be a bit concerned about if it’s been hanging around.” Rarity said.
“It doesn’t seem to be a threat at the moment. Our focus should be on Yin-Yang for the moment.” Twilight said.
“Twilight’s right; no sense in worrying on the non-threat.” Rainbow Dash said. “Now if you’ll excuse me…” She said and flew off.
“Where is SHE going?” Twilight asked.
Rainbow Dash soon arrived at Rainbow Falls looking around for a bit and smiled as she noticed Soarin there and no one else.
“Phew, thank god.” Rainbow Dash said.
“Yeah. If word got out by the time a spot opened up in the Wonderbolts proper, things would get super hectic in a hurry.” Soarin said.
“Trust me, I know. We’re just lucky we manage to keep it on the down low around HQ.” Rainbow Dash said. “So, did ya bring the basket?” She asked.
“Yeah.” Soarin said, taking out a large blanket and then sitting a basket on top of it.
“Awesome. I’m still surprised we can have these picnics without anyone knowing.” Rainbow Dash said.
“Yeah. And besides, afterwords, we’ll be going for some flying around Rainbow Falls.” Soarin said.
“Just try to keep up.” Rainbow Dash said as the pair began to eat.
“Nice to have a picnic outside. I can only hope my friends find their special someponies soon.” Twilight said.
“Give it time Twilight.” Sombra said. “I’m sure they’ll find somepony to be with sooner then you think.” He added.
“Yeah. Rainbow ran out pretty fast though. A bit weird but I doubt she’s got a special somepony.” Twilight said.
“What makes you so sure?” Sombra asked.
“I know Rainbow Dash. She’s not one for romance.” Twilight said.
“Maybe not the same way every pony else is at least.” Sombra said.
“What do you mean?” Twilight asked.
“I mean that Ms. Dash could very well have a special somepony, but she doesn’t act the same way somepony in love normally would. I have a feeling given her nature, Rainbow is someone who shows her feelings differently then others do.” Sombra said.
“I doubt that.” Twilight said.
“And that makes me the winner.” Rainbow Dash said.
“Dang…your fast Dashie. Like real fast.” Soarin said.
“Heh, tell me something I don’t know.” Rainbow Dash said, with a blush on her face.
“You always act differently then how I expect you to and that makes this relationship fun.” Soarin said.
“That’s good to know. A relationship that isn’t fun isn’t worth the time.” Rainbow Dash said.
“I just hope you can hold back if you need to for the others.” Soarin said. “Don’t need you showing off in the middle of a performance.” He said.
“That’s why we’ve been getting so close; so you can help me with that. Plus, I’m helping you get to my level too. I think you were faster then last time.” Rainbow Dash said.
“I’m glad. At some point, I want to do a sonic Rainboom of my own.” Soarin said.
“Well it’s not just about the speed, it’s also about willpower; the desire to push yourself far and beyond; that really makes the difference.” Rainbow Dash explained.
“Well right now, my greatest desire is to impress you by doing my own Sonic Rainboom.” Soarin said.
“I simply can’t wait for you to do that.” Rainbow Dash said as she closed in for a kiss with Soarin. “Later.” She said and flew off. Soarin did shortly after.

Nearby a certain Pegasus Mare was smirking to herself while she had watched everything from the shadows.
“Revenge is a dish best served cold.” She said.

Considering what is next for this story, I didn’t want you guys to wait the extra weeks for the follow up to the cliffhanger from the last chapter.
Season 2: Episide 8 - Lightning’s Revenge Part 1
Lightning Dust was grinning evilly. She wanted to get revenge on Rainbow Dash over the cyan mare for causing the line green mare from being kicked out of the Wonderbolts.
Now that she’s seen what the reservist and Soarin have been doing behind Spitfire’s back, she had the perfect way to get revenge.
“Revenge is a dish best served cold. Rainbow Dash, you destroyed my dreams of becoming a Womderbolt. So it’s only fair that I return the favor…” Lightning Dust said.
A few weeks after her latest date with Soarin
“Wait are you serious?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Yeah I think I can convince the higher ups about you on this, but if all goes well, you won’t have to wait for a spot to empty out before you can come in. I say after all the improvement I’ve seen out of you, you deserve it.” Spitfire said.
“That’d be so awesome if you can do that.” Rainbow Dash said.
“But of it doesn’t work, your still at the top of the list. So it won’t be over. I will fight like hell if I have to.” Spitfire said.
“That means a lot to me, Captain. Or would you prefer if I just called you Spitfire while we’re off duty since we’ve become good friends?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Only after you get into the ‘bolts, Dash.” Spitfire said.
“Of course captain…” Rainbow Dash said and went off.
“…Not that I have any doubts about that part.” Spitfire said after Rainbow Dash left. There was a knock at her door. “It’s open.” Spitfire said. In came Crescent Moon with the higher ups of the Wonderbolt management.
“Spitfire, we have a situation.” Crescent Moon said.
“What kind of situation?” Spitfire asked.
“We were informed from an anonymous tip that Soarin was spotted dating somepony.” The Higher Up on the left said.
“Normally that wouldn’t be a problem. But the pony he was dating created one.” The higher up on the right said.
“That pony just happened to be Rainbow Dash. And policy rules forbid a full bolt and a reserve bolt dating.” The middle higher up said.
“Now this is an absurd accusation to be making here. You are essentially accusing a pony who has been reported to be one of six others who have saved Equestria several times now AND even a close friend to Princess Twilight on top of that. Despite all that, I have never once shown her any favoritism. I have treated her like I would the other ‘bolts; the only time I showed anything close was the Tornado Incident which I made sure to. Note in my report that thanks to Rainbow Dash’s efforts, the ponies who were in the way of the tornado were unharmed. And amongst those ponies was Princess Twilight herself.” Spitfire said. “And here you are willing to throw all that away, just because some random nopony said Soarin is dating Rainbow Dash.” She said.
“They didn’t just take that at it’s word…” Crescent Moon soon brought in Soarin. “Tell her what you told me when the higher ups brought you to me.” He said. “And don’t lie.” CM added.
“They…are telling the truth…about me and Rainbow Dash…” Soarin said.
“I can’t believe this…despite that, your still willing to throw away everything Rainbow Dash has done for what? Soarin not being able to hold himself together?” Spitfire asked. “We’re talking about that later by the way.” She said to Soarin.
“Be that as it may, that doesn’t change the facts.” The first higher up said.
“So you now have a choice to make here, Spitfire.” The second Higher Up said.
“Either you take away Rainbow Dash’s Reserve Status and forbid her from ever stepping foot near Soarin again, or you have her race to stay in the Wonderbolts.” The Third Higher Up said.
“That’s not even a decision. Of course I’m going to pick the race option.” Spitfire said.
“That’s what I was afraid you’d pick…this is out of my hands from here…” Crescent Moon said.
The next day, Rainbow Dash was approached by the higher ups and Spitfire with Soarin being near Crescent Moon.
“What’s going on?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“We were tipped off by an anonymous pony that you and Soarin were dating.” The first higher up said.
“When Soarin confirmed this, we have spitfire a choice, one which she has made.” The second higher up.
“So here’s how this is going to work: You are going to race somepony from the current Wonderbolts squad in an obstacle course that we designed.” The third higher up said.
“The rules are simple: The first pony to collect the four flags scattered on the track and reach the finish line first is the winner.” The first higher up said.
“If you; Rainbow Dash; manage to win, then you will be allowed to stay in the wonderbolts and we’ll ignore this little incident with Soarin.” The second higher up said.
“However, if the wonderbolt we choose to race you wins, then it’s no more wonderbolt for you. To top it off, you and Soarin will be forbidden by law from ever seeing each other again.” The third higher up said.
“So you think you can just intimidate me huh? Think I’ll run off scared because your threatening my future huh? Well let me tell you something: You’ve messed with the wrong Pegasus. Bring it on. I never run from a challenge.” Dash said.
“You should’ve backed down while you had the chance. You could’ve still been with Soarin had you refused the challenge.” The first higher up said.
“Now your going to regret having accepted this challenge after we tell you who you’ll be racing.” The second higher up said.
“As the wonderbolt you’ll be racing, is Spitfire.” The third higher up said.
“Wait what?!” Spitfire exclaimed.

Season 2: Episode 10 - Spill the Beans
Out of nowhere, Lightning Dust came out from her hiding place.
“YOU?!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed. “What are you doing here?” She asked, almost aggressively.
“Come on, you three are just going to let her slide on something THIS serious? What happened to the image of the Wonderbolts you three work so hard to protect?” Lightning Dust asked.
“Uh…actually that’s my doing. They had nothing to do with that.” Crescent Moon said.
“That just makes things worse.” Lightning Dust said.
“Lightning Dust, you didn’t answer the question: What are you doing here?” Spitfire asked.
“She’s got a good question you know…” The first higher up said.
“And we are very curious about the answer ourselves.” The second higher up said.
“So we advise answering the question if you want to even think of joining up the wonderbolts the next recruitment drive.” The third higher up said.
“…Wait what?” Lightning Dust said.
“Let’s just say that I may have convinced them to not keep you out of the ‘bolts so long as you kept your nose clean and straightened yourself up.” Spitfire said.
“Oh…well…it’s just…this area is near my usual flight path from here to where I’ve had to work after being dismissed from the Wonderbolt Academy; and I noticed everyone here so I thought I’d stick around…see what happened and all that.” Lightning Dust said. “Especially considering Rainbow Dash and Soarin broke the rules and all.” She added.
“Sure, the higher ups knew me and Soarin did break the rules. They did just mention that after all.” Rainbow Dash said. “But the way you said that…makes me believe you somehow knew what the race was about before that point though.” She added. Lightning Dust suddenly gulped. She just realized her mistake.
“Fess up, Lightning Dust: It was you who tipped off the Higher Ups about those two, wasn’t it?” Spitfire Asked. Lightning Dust suddenly smiled.
Why is she smiling? Rainbow Dash wondered.
“Well even though that is true, it’s proof I’m on my way to following the rules right for next time right? Totally legit too.” Lightning Dust said.
“She’s…got a point.” The first higher up said.
“Yeah we can see nothing wrong with that logic.” The second higher up said.
“It is a fair assessment to make.” The third higher said. Rainbow Dash was worried that Lightning Dust just got off scot free for something.
“Curiously then, Lightning Dust…” Soarin said. “Tell me then, where did me and Rainbow Dash go on our lastest date?” He asked.
“What’s that going to--“ Cresent Moon was about to ask.
“Rainbow Falls.” Lightning Dust said. Soarin smiled.
“And the time before that?” Soarin asked.
“That would be just outside Everfree Forest.” Lightning Dust said.
“And the time before that?” Soarin asked.
“What is he--“ The first higher up was about to ask.
“That was um…that was…a secret spot in Ponyville…I think?” Lightning Dust said.
“Wrong Lightning Dust. It was in Ponyville, but me and Dash weren’t dating at that point. She wasn’t even in the reserves by then. In fact, I was there getting to know her friends and she was off doing other stuff. We weren’t even near each other. So then I ask you: How did you know I was in Ponyville at all?” Soarin asked.
“She shouldn’t know…” The second higher up said.
“Not unless you were stalking Soarin and not Rainbow Dash.” The third higher up said.
“I get it now: You we’re planning on doing something to Soarin and not Rainbow Dash because you know that she saved his pie at the gala and she also saved me, him, and Fleetfoot at the young fliers competition.” Spitfire said.
“…Well played Soarin. And nice deduction skills, Spitfire.” Lightning Dust said.
“Your still hung up over being kicked out over the tornado incident?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Well duh! And I was going to take down the entire Wonderbolt organization with me as a result. Just so happened that as I was planning that, you and Soarin started dating. Hell, I could’ve easily done it too, but getting Spitfire to turn around and do to you what she did to me? Now that was an opportunity I wasn’t going to miss for anything. Nopony beats me and gets away with it. Nopony! And I would’ve gotten away with it too, had that storm not happen.” Lightning Dust said.
“A likely story. You created that Storm to hit me, didn’t you?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“I may have been a reckless flier in the Academy, but even I wouldn’t stoop to murder. That’s too far, even for me.” Lightning Dust said.
“But…if you didn’t create that storm when it was so easily dissolved by a sonic Rainboom then that creates a brand new question.” The first higher up said.
“Because if you didn’t create that storm…” The second higher up began.
“Then who did?” The third higher up asked.
Suddenly great evil laughter could be heard a black ball circled them.
“THIS WAS JUST A TASTE OF WHAT I’M CAPABLE OF; SOON ALL OF MORTAL KIND SHALL FEEL MY WRATH!” A dark ominous voice called out; it was ominous because what they were hearing was clearly only one half of a greater whole. The black ball soon went away.
“What the hell was that thing?” Spitfire asked.
“I don’t know, but I’ve got a bad feeling about it.” Soarin said.

"What in Tartarus is...this...?" Twilight said as she, her brother, Princess Cadence, and Sombra were all looking at the bodies of many crystal ponies that had signs of being trampled on by...something.
"That's what I'm not sure of. Seems there was something that caused all this." Shining Armor said.
"I...won't forgive something like this. Not now, not ever." Sombra said. "I promise you...I will find whoever caused this, and make sure they regret it." He added before his voice got deep. "FOREVER! " Sombra said.
"So many innocent lives lost to just one thing..." Cadence said.
"Wait..." Twilight said. "There's a set of prints heading away from these bodies." She added.
"That's my sister for you." Shining Armor said.
"We know what we must do then: Follow those prints!" Sombra said, leading the charge.
"...I don't think I've seen Sombra ever act this way..." Cadence said.
"Agreed..." Shining Armor said.
"Sombra has always been about preventing death and grief. So for someone to just come along and kill senselessly like this..." Twilight said. "All we can do is make sure he doesn't return the favor." She said.
The group managed to follow the prints to a cave where they found a...Rhinoceros?
"...What...?" Sombra asked.
"My...thoughts exactly...what?" Shining Armor asked.
"Really? An animal caused this?" Cadence asked.
"Seems that way...wait..." Twilight said, stopping everyone. "...Something's not right..." She added. Suddenly the Rhinoceros woke up, but it's eyes were shining; no pupils just pure light enimated from it's eye sockets. "I knew it. Something's controlling that poor creature." Twilight said.
"Someone is using an animal for such atrocities? That's just even worse." Sombra said. "Twilight, do you got any advice?" He asked.
"I suggest we knock it out; that should restore it to normal." Twilight proposed
"That would make sense." Sombra said.
"Do you really think it'll be THAT easy?" A strange new voice said. Suddenly the Rhinoceros started mutating. "You are just mere mortals..." The voice added as the Rhinoceros continued mutating; ending up as some kind of strange amalgamation. "Where as I am a GOD!" The voice finished.
"Sweet Celestia..." Cadence said.
"I think...we've found the source of all that death." Shining Armor said.
"Whoever you are, you've just messed with the wrong stallion. I am Sombra, and I am the King of Shadows!" Sombra said.
Sombra began battling against the mutated Rhinoceros with some success before Twilight, Shining Armor, and Cadence joined in.
"It Matters not to me who many of you I face. You are still just flimsy mortals, while I am a god." The strange voice spoke again.
"Stop with the god talk already. It's annoying." Sombra said and started channeling his magic goether with Twilight, Shining Armor, and Cadence.
"Really? You expect me to let you finish some massive attack willingly? I ain't some dumb villain who sits and waits for the 'heros' to use their ace card. I AM A GOD!" The strange voice said as the mutated Rhinoceros rushed forward but then was suddenly stopped by something. "Wait...what's this?! SOMETHING IS PREVENTING ME FROM MOVING!" The voice said.
"I won't let you continue on your war path." A more feminine voice spoke out. Sombra recognized it.
"Radiant Hope?!" Sombra exclaimed.
"Whoever you are...using an innocent animal like this...I won't forgive you." Radient Hope's voice rang out. "Now's your chance Sombra, Shining Armor, Princess Cadence, and Princess Twilight Sparkle...finish off this threat." Radiant Hope said. Soon the massive pool of magic was launched at the mutated Rhinoceros which not only unmutated it, but also freed it from control.
But as the Rhinoceros passed out, a ball of white light came out of it's body.
"YOU ARE MERE MORTALS! I AM A GOD!" The strange voice spoke again; coming from the ball of light. "THIS IS JUST A SAMPLE OF WHAT I'M TRUELY CAPABLE OF! I AM THE GOD OF TWO SIDES; I AM YIN-YANG! AND SOON, ALL OF MORTAL KIND WILL BE DESTROYED!" The Voice said before the ball of light vanished.
"So...your the spirit of Radiant Hope? We are well met." Cadence said.
"Introductions are not necessary, Princess Cadence; decedent of Princess Amore." Radiant Hope said. Twilight approached Radiant Hope's Spirit.
"Why are you still around?" Twilight asked.
"I wouldn't dare let my decendents be killed by some jerk ass. That includes you Princess Twilight Sparkle, and you Shining Armor." Radiant Hope said.
"Me?!" Shining Armor said.
"Yes you. I'm afraid I don't have much time here though. I will try to visit when I can but...please, for now go back to your normal lives. And beware of The Observer; he cannot be trusted." Radiant Hope said before leaving.
"Why'd she say The Observer cannot be trusted? He seemed fine to me." Twilight said.
"I don't know, but I would not dare question Radiant Hope." Sombra said.
"Meanwhile something evil is seriously going on here: First that storm Rainbow Dash said happened during that race she was forced to have against Spitfire, and now this. Someone or something is pulling the strings." Twilight said.
"This is too much within just a few days to be just pure coincidence, I'll give you that." Sombra said.

Season 2: Episode 12 - God of Two Sides Battle
Things were going crazy all of a sudden: Trees were rapidly changing colors, the sky was shifting from day to night and back again, and what was even worse is that plunderseed vines would grow and ungrow.
"This...is way to chaotic. Even for me." Discord said.
"So your not doing this?" Twilight asked.
"Even I have a limit and this much chaos surpasses it." Discord added.
"Well this could give someone a seizure if we don't stop it." Rainbow Dash said.
"Agreed. But how?" Sombra asked. Suddenly two strange glowing balls appeared.
"Hey I recognize that black ball!" Rainbow Dash said.
"And Sombra and I have defiantly seen that white ball before." Twilight said. Suddenly the two balls began circling clockwise, picking up so much speed, suddenly it looked like they were making the yin-yang symbol.
"...Twilight, I think those balls of light might be agents for that god The Creator warned us about." Sombra said.
"I think your right that this is the work of said god. But I think your missing the obvious." Twilight said. Suddenly the two colored balls joined together into one before a mysterious being emerged using the smooshed balls as it's center; half of the being's body was pure black, and the other half was pure white. "...THAT IS THE GOD OF TWO SIDES!" Twilight announced.
"How are you enjoying my show mortals?" The being asked. "This is just a preview to what I'm capable of. Everything is but putty in my hands. I am the God of Two sides Yin-Yang!" It continued. Yin-yang's voice seemed masculine, and yet there were no identifiable features on the strange being. "And now to unleash my power onto you mortals. I won't stop until all of you mortals are dead!" Yin-yang concluded and began to unleash attacks the likes of which Twilight and her friends had never seen before.
"I'll give him this, he does have magic spells I don't think I'm going to find in any books." Twilight said.
"Twily, you know I love you, but I don't think that's magic he's using." Sombra said.
"What do you mean?" Twilight said before she and Sombra had to dodge one of Yin-Yang's attacks.
"What I mean is that whatever this thing is, it's not using magic to fight." Sombra said.
"But's it's effecting our world just the same." Twilight argued.
"Did you forget Twilight? The Creator said this was one of his sons. And that was a being who had transcended the need for a physical form a long time ago." Sombra noted.
"That's a fair point. Still, we have to stop Yin-Yang!" Twilight said.
Everyone did everything they could to damage Yin-yang as much as they could. For a bit, things seemed to be swinging in the hereo's favor until Yin-yang suddenly split himself up into two forms: One that was white and one that was black.
"Time for me to stop messing around and show you some of my advanced tricks!" Yin-Yang said.
"This just got harder." Twilight said.
"I had a feeling things were too easy." Sombra said. Suddenly Celestia, Luna, Cadence, and Shining Armor arrived.
"Twilight, is this the strange being that's been causing all this trouble?" Celestia asked.
"Yeah. And now it's gone and split itself up into two halves." Twilight said.
"Is this one of your creations Discord?" Luna asked.
"Now come on Princesses, I wouldn't dare create something that's been endangering lives." Discord said.
"Plunderseed Vines." Celestia said as brief as possible.
"If they had been allowed to grow as they should have been, then they wouldn't have gotten so out of control." Discord said.
"You say that like you bear no responsibility for them." Rainbow Dash said.
"I think we have more important things to worry about right now." Cadence reminded everyone. "We can argue about the whole Plunderseed incident later." She added.
Now with the other princesses and Shining Armor battling, the fight was returning to the favor of the heroes. Soon, Yin-yang joined his two halves together again.
"YOU ARE REALLY MAKING ME ANGRY NOW!" Yin-Yang said. Suddenly, strange magic began to contain him. "What the...oh no..." Yin-Yang said. At that moment, The Creator showed up.
"I can handle things from here." The Creator said.
"Okay, whose that guy?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"You've done your part. The rest is family business." The Creator said. "And I am VERY disappointed in you yet again Yin-yang. Why? Why do you continue to target mortal beings so casually?" He said. Yin-yang simply spit at The Creator. "And once again you refuse to answer my question. So once again you leave me no choice but to renew my spell once more." The Creator said. Suddenly yin-yang's soul was split apart and then thrusted far, far away.
"Um...we appreciate the help but...who are you?" Fluttershy asked.
"Call me, The Creator." The Creator said and left.
"...Seriously, what the heck was that thing?" Rainbow Dash asked, meaning the Creator. "And what exactly did it mean by 'again'?" Rainbow Dash asked.

Season 2: Episode 13 - The Guardian & Subnotica
Luna was currently dream walking, however, she felt herself being pulled into a nearby dream.
"A dream walker in my domain...it's been a long time since I've had one of you in this realm." A voice called out. Luna found herself in a grand hall with many statues; each clearly marked with a theme.
"Where am I?" Luna asked. "Whose dream is this?" She asked.
"Your still in the same place you've always been. Yet now, close to my place in the realm of dreams, have I become aware of you, and your abilities." The voice said before a ball of gray light descended to the area in front of Luna before it suddenly morphed into the form of a crystal-like entity.
"What are you? How dare you take me away from my duties of helping ponies with nightmares?" Luna asked.
"I assure you, none from your particular planet are having nightmares right now." The figure before Luna said. "I know this because I too monitor the realm of dreams." The figure added.
"You do not understand; I have a duty to preform." Luna said. "There is someone I am trying to meet with tonight as they have asked for a bit of guidance." She added.
"Very well, I'll let you get to that then, but after you are done, you will be brought back here to me." The figure said.
"Who are you to be questioning royalty?" Luna asked.
"I am known as The Guardian; a creation made to act as a shield to whatever I deem appropriate." The figure said. "And in this realm? Your crown holds no authority. Only I and the the realm's twelve managers have authority. Because this is not the waking world. This is the realm of dreams. What you call the dreamscape, us here who live in this realm call it Subnotica." The Guardian added before Luna was sent to where she needed to go. Luna did not question it, but did what she came here to do regardless.
After a bit of helping to guide the one she was meeting with, she found the Guardian's door once more and entered.
"Your earlier then I'd thought you'd be." The Guardian said.
"I thought time doesn't pass while I'm in someone else's dream." Luna doesn't.
"Thought the same as that once. Ended up having to train someone to be able to lucid dream for five weeks straight because of it. No, the reality is time passes differently in the dream world depending on how 'awake' someone is when someone else is in their dream. And especially when that someone is having a dream about something managed by one of the twelve major realm managers." The Guardian said. "Speaking of which, that pegasus filly; Scootaloo I believe is her name; is currently dreaming about Rainbow Dash branded candy." He added.
"Of course it would be Rainbow Dash related, but how do you know she's having such a vivid dream?" Luna asked. To which the guardian averted Luna's attention to one of the statues in the room. This one was designed after a food based creature.
"Each statue here is themed after a particular major realm manager. They are either leaders of their own right in their realms, or have a highly respected position within." The Guardian said.
Meanwhile...
"SO MUCH RAINBOW DASH CANDY!" Scootaloo said as her dream self enjoyed the mountains of Rainbow Dash themed candy.
"Enjoy as much as you like little one. No matter how much you eat, you'll never suffer the negative consequences of eating so many sweets." A living version of the food creature Luna saw the statue of was seen talking with Scootaloo.
"OH I WILL; THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I never got your name though." Scootaloo said.
"I am Madam Supreme Cupcake; the pleasure is all mine." The food creature said.
"I'm Scootaloo. Thanks again for all the candy Mrs. Supreme Cupcake." Scootaloo said.
"Um...Madam is just my title, young Scootaloo." Supreme Cupcake said. Suddenly the Guardain and Luna entered the area. "Oh! Dearest Guardain! I see you have brought a guest to my realm." Supreme Cupcake said.
"Oh hey! Princess Luna, you have GOT to try the sweets here." Scootaloo said.
"I'll pass for now young Scootaloo..." Luna said.
"Ah fellow royalty. I remember that life all too well. Such a boring life. I am so glad I was able to find a way to come here, to Subnoticia." Supreme Cupcake said.
"Wait...you mean you actually LIVE in the land of dreams? How is that possible?" Luna asked.
"Not all those who are here exist in the waking world." Supreme Cupcake said. Suddenly, something was happening in the corner of the shop.
"! Not again!" The Guardian said and stopped the tearing and fixed it.
"What was that?" Luna asked.
"A bit of corruption curtusy of the Guardian's evil brother; The Omega." Supreme Cupcake noted.
"The Omega?" Luna asked.
"My brother's job is supposed to be finding decaying worlds and making sure they are fully cleaned of life so they can be reused later by my father and creator whose name I shall not tell. But one day, my brother; The Omega; went rogue and started destroying worlds on a rampage. Me and my youngest brother; The Darkness; teamed up to stop The Omega's rampage." The Guardian explained.
"Your other brother is evil?" Luna asked.
"The Darkness was not really evil. His job was to sprinkle a few evil beings in the various worlds. This was only done to maintain a balance between good and evil. That is the task we three brothers were supposed to protect once our father stopped creating worlds and the task fell to The Creator for creating life." The Guardian said.
"But as the story goes for The Guardain and The Darkness, their battle with The Omega was a hard fought one. Even though The Omega was eventually sealed away to a part of the collective of multi-verses, The Darkness did not survive the battle and had been mortally wonded by The Omega. As such, The Darkness's job was given to the Creator, who decided to then give the task to one of his two sons." Supreme Cupcake said.
"Yin-Yang." Luna noted.
"Exactly." Supreme Cupcake said.
"It pains me to have had to seal my brother away like that, but there was no other choice." The Guardian said. "Even now, he seeks to escape his prison and--" Suddenly the Guardian looked distraught. "I sense someone tainted by The Omega's magic...I will find them, and fix this mess." The Guardian said.

Season 2: Episode 14 - Score
Walking through the streets, a mysterious rabbit was listening to music. If one could listen closely, they'd hear music.

From the front, one could see this mysterious rabbit clearly.
They were walking towards the castle of friendship, a stride in their step; ignoring the ponies they saw on the way there. Soon, the rabbit was in the castle of friendship. Inside there, Twilight, Sombra, and Luna were talking about what Luna had encountered last night.
"I swear it was the weirdest thing..." Luna said.
"Why would this Guardian tell us to not trust The Observer?" Sombra asked.
"Because you shouldn't." a female voice said. The rabbit was in the doorway, earbuds out. One could hear the music coming from some earbuds she had in. "He's not who you think he is after all." The rabbit continued.
"This rabbit creature can talk?" Luna asked.
"Why is that always the first thing people notice about me? I swear, it's like I'm a walking celebrity or something." The rabbit said.
"Gee, doesn't that seem familiar?" Sombra asked, elbowing Twilight who giggled.
"Call me Score." The rabbit said before taking out something. "I'm simply here to get you in touch with my boss." She added before pressing something on the strange device she had. Suddenly things started becoming weird. "Don't be alarmed; we are simply passing the border between the conscious world and the unconscious world while this device is active." Score admitted. Soon things stopped being weird. And then a ball of light appeared.
"Greetings." A voice said before the ball of light took a solid form.
"That's him, that's The Guardian!" Luna said.
"I knew I'd meet you again, dreamwalker. Just not so soon. It's a pleasure to meet you, Twilight Sparkle and Sombra of course. The Guardian said.
"This is a strange phenomenon. It appears like we are still in my castle. But we aren't, are we?" Twilight asked. The guardian gave a hearty laugh.
A very wise young lady. It's refreshing to me." The Guardian said before he went towards Sombra.
"She is, isn't she?" Sombra asked. Suddenly something was drained from the stallion. "Hey! What did you just do?!" Sombra exclaimed but then blinked. "...Actually, what did you just do? I don't feel any different..." He added.
"All I did was remove my brother's taint from your body. Nothing more. Everything else is still the same. You still have the cutie mark you were given and still have your title. All I did was remove my brother's taint from your body." The Guardian said.
"Your brother is The Observer? Or at least the one saying that's who he is?" Twilight asked.
"His real name is The Omega. He was originally created by my father to destroy decayed worlds. And before you worry, a decayed world is one where all life is either extinct, or on the brink of total collapse. Your world is far from that. But something happened to my brother long ago and he went rogue, going against my father's wishes. So, me and my only other brother; The Darkness; confronted our sibling." The Guardian said.
"The Darkness? What was his job?" Luna asked.
"To make sure worlds had some evil in them. The Darkness was not evil himself. His job simply was to ensure the balance between good and evil. The battle the two of us had against The Omega was a hard fought one, but the two of us came out on top. However, before you ask to meet The Darkness, do not bother. While the battle ended in our favor, victory was bittersweet for us: The Darkness was hit by a last-minute desperation attack from The Omega; destroying his very soul." The Guardian said.
"Bastard." Sombra said.
"What happened after that?" Twilight asked.
"I contained The Omega to a specific area of the greater collection of multi-verses. That's happened to be where your world was cropped up on by The Creator and his two sons. I had every intention of preventing development here in this area. And now that there is development, I must do what I can to prevent The Omega from regaining his full strength." The Guardian said.
"If you need our help, don't be afraid to ask." Twilight said.
"Needing to ask for your help is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. Because if it comes to that, it may be too late to stop him." The guardian said.
"I gotta go." Score said. "I just got word that you know who is back." She added. the guardian nodded and things went back to normal normal.
"Where are you going? Whose back?" Twilight asked.
"My father." Score said before heading out.

This is a second person P.O.V. chapter. Just a heads up. Also, yes, all of the stories other then “Friendship is Magic” mentioned in this chapter are from Fimfiction. The first person who can correctly guess who wrote all five of the stories mentioned in the order that they appear in will get a shoutout in the author notes in a later chapter. Additionally, none of the authors who wrote these stories may participate in this endeavor as that wouldn't be fair.
Pre-Prologue: Stories
You find yourself in a library filled with books, and have come to return a story entitled My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. After returning this book, you find that the usual Liberian has been replaced by a mysterious Jackle.
"Ah. I hope you don't mind me being here." He speaks to you as he rises from his chair. He appears very Egyptian like in appearance. He's even carrying a staff. "I am the overseer of worlds, you may refer to me as The Jackle." The Jackle spoke. He soon came to a bookcase.
"The stories on this bookcase are ones that have been completed. Such as this one." The Jackle Spoke as he showed you a story entitled Twilight's Love. The Jackle then moved to another bookcase. "The stories on this bookcase are currently incomplete but aren't fully abandoned by their creators." The Jackle said as he showed you three books this time: Luster Dawn: New Days of the Magic of Friendship, Umbraenstein: The Umbra Castle, and Thank you, Mistress.
However, then you followed the Jackle to a part of the library you've never been in; stories here do not look like they have everything them. "But these stories...these worlds in particular stand out amongst the rest..." The Jackle explained before showing you the story The Hypnotic Rainbow. "These worlds...these stories have been abandoned and have thus fallen into ruin." The Jackle said. Soon, he lead you to a pair of books. One cancelled story that has no name, and another whose title is not on the cover.
"But amongst all these stories, this pair of stories right here is an example of what happens when a ruined world gives birth to a fruitful one; a story that's been completed." The Jackle said. "Some worlds fall to ruin so that others may rise to fruition. This is one such example. I would like to tell you this story in particular..." The Jackle said bringing the completed story into view. "This is the tale of a world that rose because another fell. I call this story The Queen of Shadows." The Jackle Explained before he opened the book up to read to you.

Twilight's P.O.V.
I breathed out a sigh of relief now that everything was back to normal.
...Then I realized Somepony was still missing.
"WAIT A SEC, WHERE'S SOMBRA!?" I exclaimed. That caused everyone's mouths to go slack jawed. Suddenly a patch of vines that hadn't been cleared away yet cleared away to reveal Sombra. "Sombra!" I yelled, suddenly flying over to him and hugging him. "Oh thank goodness your safe!" I said.
"Twilight?" Sombra asked as he came to. "What...what happened?" He asked.
"Some magic sapping vines Discord planted a thousand years ago happened." Rainbow Dash said. "We kind of had to return the elements to the tree of harmony to save the day." She added.
"But what happens if something comes up where you'll need the elements?" Sombra asked.
"Good...question..." Fluttershy said.
"But we had to give them up to save the tree of harmony." Rarity said. "Without them, the tree will be in danger by the plunder seeds again." She added.
"Maybe not..." Sombra said. "Take me to this...tree of harmony." He said.
We did so. Sombra scanned it.
"...Hmm...well your half right. Right now the Tree's magic is preventing the plunderseeds from growing out of control, and I believe over time, the plunderseeds will no longer be able to grow as they'll have long died out. But it will take several months to maybe even a few years..." Sombra said. "But I think if something comes up where you need the elements again, so long as you don't wait too long before returning them, you can still use them." He said.
"Well that's an interesting development." Discord said.
"Of course there is one issue that needs adressing..." Sombra said before hitting Discord with a dark magic blast. "DO YOU KNOW HOW CLOSE YOU COULD'VE GOTTEN TO KILLING CELESTIA AND LUNA?!" Sombra exclaimed.
"Okay...Sombra has flown off the handle..." Applejack said and prepared to grab her element, but I stopped her.
"...No. I trust Sombra. Let him drill this into Discord's head." I said.
"YOU ARE VERY, VERY LUCKY TWILIGHT FIGURED OUT HOW TO FIX THE MESS YOU UNINTENTIONALLY CREATED!" Sombra continued to yell. "SO YOU BETTER THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU PULL A STUNT LIKE THIS AGAIN, OR YOUR GOING TO GET MORE THEN JUST CLEANUP DUTY AND A BLAST TO THE FACE NEXT TIME! MARK MY WORDS ON THAT!" Sombra exclaimed.
"As...as you wish..." Discord said, sheepishly and went to clean up ponyville.
"...Sorry about that..." Sombra said. "Really needed to make it clear to him that he endangered the lives of millions." He said.
"...Twilight was right..." Rainbow Dash said. "Hey Sombra, what do you say I help you find yourself a pet." She added. "That way, you can join in on our pony playdate." She added, smiling.
"I'd like that, thank you Rainbow Dash." Sombra said, smiling said.
"You can just call me Rainbow, Sombra." Rainbow Dash said.
"So...just one question..." Sombra said, turning his attention to the box. "...What's with the box? You think something's inside of it?" He asked.
"More then likely, yes. But we needs keys to open it, and I don't know where to start..." Twilight said.
"Why not ask Celestia after the Summer Sun festival in canterlot? Even if she doesn't know herself, I bet she could point you in the right direction of figuring it out." Sombra said.
"That's actually not a bad idea..." Pinkie Pie said, smiling. "Better then my antics with the Mirror Pound." She added.
"OH PLEASE, LET ME NOT BE REMINDED OF THAT NIGHTMARE!" Sombra said. "I'm glad we're back down to ONE Pinkie Pie, thank you very much!" He added. Everyone chuckled at that.
"Yeah...yeah one Pinkie Pie is plenty." I said.
"Speaking of...where DID all those Pinkie Pie clones go?" Sombra asked.
"I returned them to the Mirror Pound." I said.
"Ah...that's probably the best place for them." Sombra said. Everyone agreed with him as we headed out.
"I might have a selection of animals at home you can pick from." Fluttershy said.
"Thanks, but I think I'd rather not take up one from someone else." Sombra said.
"Oh she only has one of them as her own pet. Even if he's...different." Rainbow Dash said, shivering a bit at the thought.
"But what about the others?" Sombra asked.
"Somepony needs to look after those poor innocent animals." Fluttershy said.
"Your kindness knows no bounds, does it Fluttershy?" Sombra asked.
"I don't think it does." Rainbow Dash said.
I couldn't help but smile. Sombra was getting along nicely with my friends. Hopefully the day after the summer sun celebration can bring him ever closer to them.

I panted as we finished up our flag carrying routine. And while Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Silver Spoon were also all tired from it, Diamond Tiara was super excited about what she had taken part in.
"OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!" Diamond Tiara said. "That was SUCH a rush! I don't think I've ever felt that way about doing ANYTHING before." She said.
"Glad to know you enjoyed it..." Silver Spoon said.
"Well there's no feeling like the adrenaline giving you such a rush like that." I mentioned. "Within reason of course..." I added.
"And that was the BEST KIND of rush!" Diamond Tiara said. "You have to answer me this question: Is that how you cutie mark crusaders feel EVERY TIME you go and do one of your crusades?" She asked. My jaw dropped as did Silver Spoon's. Did Diamond Tiara really just admit that she ENJOYED that sort of rush?
"Admittedly yes. That's basically how it's felt for us." Sweetie Belle said.
"Yeah. Ah have to be honest because ma sister says being dishonest with your feelings is a bad thing." Apple Bloom said.
"Well if THIS is what it feels like to do things with you guys, I kind of want to join in the fun." Diamond Tiara said. "I know I already have my cutie mark, but we're friends right? And the best part about being friends is that we can do activities like this together. Well...within reason of course." She explained.
"Pinch me...I think I'm dreaming..." I said. Silver Spoon Pinched me. "Ow! I didn't mean actually pinch me!" I yelled out.
"Sorry..." Silver Spoon said. "I'm sorry...I thought you were being serious..." She said.
"It's fine...Apple Bloom would always do it anyways so I suppose it's okay." I said.
"See? Even now we're bonding like good friends should. That's what we are now right? Good friends?" Diamond Tiara asked.
"I don't see how we wouldn't be. You have defiantly turned over a new leaf." Sweetie Belle said.
"And if you want to join us for some of our crusades...ah don't see a problem with that. What about you, Scootaloo?" Apple Bloom asked.
"You know what? I don't either. I just hope you don't mind being covered in tree sap." I said. Diamond Tiara blinked.
"Have any of you actually tried getting adult supervision with any of your crusades? I mean...you have to have safty first right?" Diamond Tiara asked.
"Oof...not you too...our sisters have been really getting onto us for that..." Sweetie Belle said.
"Well...their not wrong..." I said. "I suppose a little help from our sisters every now and again wouldn't hurt." I added.
"Ah agree...then maybe we'd actually find something at least one of us can find a talent in." Apple Bloom said. "Thanks for the suggestion Diamond Tiara." She added.
"We're friends now, it's only natural that I'd look out for your safety as much as my own." Diamond Tiara said.
"I suppose I might as well tag along too...though don't expect me to join in EVERYTHING..." Silver Spoon said.
"Look at the five of you..." Rainbow Dash said, smiling. "Your all bonding real well. Keep this work up, and you'll be the ponyville flag weavers for sure." She added.
"Thanks Rainbow." Sweetie Belle said.
"And listen Scootaloo...I have an idea regarding your scooter for the big finish." Diamond Tiara said.
"Really?" I asked, perking up.
"Yep. Meet me back at the clubhouse later. Trust me, you guys are going to LOVE my idea." Diamond Tiara said.
As we nailed the finish Diamond Tiara had in mind, I couldn't help but agree with her.
"THAT. FINSIH. WAS. AWESOME!" I yelled out.
"Told you you guys would love it." Diamond Tiara said.
"Wow, who would've thought Diamond Tiara would have such a great finale for you guys. That'll earn you five the spot for the ponyville flag weavers for sure." Rainbow Dash said. "I think we're ready for the comp." She said.
"That's fantastic! I bet we'll win first place for sure!" Sweetie Belle said.
"We'd nail it if I could fly..." I said.
"...Not this again..." Diamond Tiara said. "Look, I get it...your upset that you can't fly...but that's why I made sure you wouldn't need to for this." She said, she got up to me. "You can't keep getting hung up on not being able to fly; focus on this routine, and really give it your all. It matters what's in your heart, not anything else." She said, smiling.
"You...your right..." I said. I smiled. "Thank you...thank you so much Diamond Tiara." I said, and I hugged her. She hugged back.
"What are friends for?" Diamond Tiara said, smiling.
Our routine was a massive success, we managed to win first place by a landslide. And it's all because of Diamond Tiara's guidance.
"Hey Diamond Tiara..." I said. "None of us may have gotten a cutie mark from this, but you have been a really great motivater." I told her.
"Scootaloo's right." Sweetie Belle said. "You managed to pick Scootaloo up from her funk before it got bad, and because of that, you really motivated her." She said.
"Ya did good today, Diamond Tiara. Don't deny it." Apple Bloom said.
"You...your right. I did do a good job motivating you gals through this huh? Maybe that's what I should do...be a good motivater!" Diamond Tiara said. "You girls are the best!" I said.
"Group hug?" Silver Spoon asked, smiling.
"GROUP HUG!" The rest of us shouted in announcment and we joined up for one big group hug.
X's P.O.V.
This...this whole experience made me really take in account just what kind of pony I can be. I no longer need to worry about anything but the opinions of my friends.
All of my friends. My other self wanted to push them all away, and make sure we'd be lonely forever.
But that's not what we really wanted. We wanted this feeling of friendship, deep down.
And in a way, we got it!

Season 2 Prologue - Information
Hey there. It's been a while, hasn't it? So as you know, me and Sombra are going to be ruling together.
He's been spending lots of time with me lately, which is good. I really needed his support as I got used to this castle. Seriously, I swear this castle looked a lot smaller from the outside.
But before I got used to my new castle, the seven of us; me, Sombra, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy; all went to this place known as "Our Town" where there was this unicorn who was taking away cutie marks from ponies. We managed to oust her charade and even return the town to normal by giving it back it's cutie marks. However the entire town chose to stay behind, as they had spent too much time there to really leave.
As for the the unicorn whose name was Starlight, I tried to convince her to come with us, but she wasn't having any of it. I have the strangest feeling we'll run into her again.
And my friends really tried to put their own personal touch on my new castle, only for them to realize it's the memories that mattered. I'm ready to make new memories here, together with Sombra.
Speaking of, he and I have really been hitting it off lately. We've been on enough dates that I think the next step for us will be coming soon. We consider each other proper romantic interests now.
Anyways I really must wrap this entry up; everyone will be leaving for the Princess Summit at the Crystal Empire soon, and Sombra said he has a surprise for me during it. I can only wonder what it is...
