Game 2: Sus the humans

Previous Chapter

There are 2 humans among us.

Staring contest. Everypony - or rather, everypony and the two people in disguise - stared at one another. The Mane Six were playing Among Us again, this time joined by Spike and a surprise guest: Princess Luna. Two of them were from the other side of the mirror portal. Who they were would soon be revealed.

This time, they decided that working in teams would allow them to discover the humans more efficiently. Twilight and Spike immediately headed off to Navigation, followed by Pinkie and Fluttershy on their way to O2. Rainbow Dash and Applejack went to Admins first, leaving Luna and Rarity in the cafeteria. Rarity had the unfortunate task of emptying the rubbish chutes, so she had to clean out the trash in both the cafeteria and Storage. After that, both she and Luna had tasks to complete in Electrical. Rarity was halfway through sorting out the Distributor when it happened. It looked as though she would not get her sweet revenge after all. With no way of contacting her friends to tell them who the human in disguise was, she had to complete her tasks and hope that they would work it out soon enough.

It didn't take long for Rainbow Dash and Applejack to find her and report that one of their crewmates had fallen. When they did so and everypony gathered at the cafeteria, Twilight did not turn up either and a quick look at the security cameras told them all that she had been deceased for quite a while.

Immediately, Spike was accused of being human.

"Hey, I can't be a person! When I'm here in Equestria, I'm a dragon, and when I'm on the other side of the portal I'm a dog! How can I be a human?!" he tried to reason with them.

Regardless of his protests, everypony agreed that he was likely to be the Other Spike. He was thrown out of the proverbial airlock and five words lit up the screen.

Spike was not A Human.

This time, everypony decided to work on their own. Whilst the others went to submit medical scans, sign in at Admin and sort out the faulty lighting system, amongst other things, Applejack stayed in Security to watch the events unfold. She saw nothing of interest, so went about realigning the engine output so that they didn't veer off course. Two ponies in blue spacesuits, one cyan and one a much darker hue, ran past her. The one in the dark blue spacesuit paused for a moment. Applejack waited with baited breath, then heard the sound of a gun being fired before...

Nothing.

Fluttershy's body was found soon after by Pinkie Pie, who, as usual, got straight down to playing the blame game.

"Rainbow Dash," she said menacingly.

"Pinkie Pie," Rainbow shot back.

"Why were you so close to Applejack when she died?"

"Why were you so close to Fluttershy when she died?"

"That wasn't me and I can Pinkie Promise. You, on the other hand-"

Pinkie was thrown out of the airlock faster than anypony could say Daring Do, and was confirmed to be one of the humans in disguise.

There were more sudden deaths, and the guessing games yielded no conclusive evidence, until Rainbow Dash grew bored and made a snap decision. She blurted out, "Princess Luna's suspicious. I don't think she's from here."

It dawned on them that Rainbow was probably correct. She was near Applejack at the time of her demise, and had teamed up with Rarity in the beginning. The remaining crewmates - Rainbow, Fluttershy and Luna herself - all voted for Luna. It was a narrow win for the crewmates, though it had taken them a while to work it out without the help of Rarity and Twilight, who were the best at the murder mystery game by miles so far.

Talking of Rarity and Twilight, the two of them chuckled behind their computer screens. Rarity squealed with delight at the beginning of the next game when a note arrived by magic. Twilight had scribbled crewmate on some spare paper. Rarity replied, and her note read payback time, darling.
