Starlight said to the Cutie Mark Crusaders who were joined by Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. "Think nothing of it. Plus, maybe if we know who your biological parents are, we can figure out what your cutie mark is meant to represent." Scootaloo said. "Yeah. It'd help us out with future cutie mark problems." Sweetie Belle said. "Which will make us better at the whole thing that we're still new to." Apple Bloom said. "I'll admit, the whole concept of family is something that interests me too. Me and Silver Spoon are working on a paper that we're calling 'Friends VS. Family'." Diamond Tiara said. "And this could help us out with some of the details." Silver Spoon said. "Plus any excuse to hang out with the CMC now that we're all friends is good enough for me." She added with a smile. "I was just doing some super advanced magic when I got my cutie mark. Nothing all that special. Though I do know that the magic I cast when I got my cutie mark was something I shouldn't have been able to cast for the age I was. I was only about your age when I cast that spell." Starlight said. "Huh...that's anti-climatic." Scootaloo said. "Twilight's cutie mark is about magic too." She added. "But isn't hers also a representation on how she and her friends are all connected by Rainbow Dash's first sonic rainboom?" Daimond Tiara asked. "Now that you mention it, yeah. That is a thing. Plus the fact that she became a princess." Sweetie Belle said. "Wow Diamond Tiara...you may only be hanging out with us from time to time, but it's like your already getting the hang of this sort of thing." Apple Bloom said. "Admittedly that was very thought provoking." Silver Spoon said. "Hey, what can I say? You girls rubbed off on me in a good way." Diamond Tiara said, smiling. "Plus, we're connected in a way too. It was my troubles and woes that led the three of you to obtaining your cutie marks. So in a way, we're just like Twilight and her friends: All connected by an event in our youth that's brought us all together." Diamond Tiara Explained. "Geez...your on a roll huh?" Scootaloo said. "Can we all focus please?" Starlight said, changing books. "Sorry Starlight Glimmer..." All five fillies said at once. "It's okay. We can have history lesson another..." Starlight suddenly gasped as she spoke upon reading the book she had. "What? What is it?" Sweetie belle asked. "Did ya find somethin' that can help us narrow our search?" Apple Bloom asked. "Something like that. Apparently, there are DNA tests to help you find a familial match within equestria." Starlight said. "Isn't that basically a cheat?" Silver Spoon asked. "Because it sounds like a cheat to me." She added. "Is it really cheating though? I mean, this isn't like some school test or anything like that." Diamond Tiara said. "I guess your right..." Silver Spoon said. "Then let's perform it right now!" Starlight said, excited. She could hardly wait. She hasn't been this excited since she reunited with Sunburst. She got to work on prepping the test right away. "Gee, someone's getting excited over the littlest thing..." Scootaloo said as Starlight eagerly made sure everything was in place for the test to go right. "Yeah...it reminds me of Twilight." Sweetie Belle said. Starlight stopped moving and looked at Sweetie Belle. "Oh not you girls too." Starlight said. "I...beg your pardon?" Diamond Tiara asked, confused. "First the friends of Twilight that are still here think I remind them of Twilight, and now you five." Starlight added. "Well it's true. Yer acting a lot like Twilight does when she gets the way your gettin'." Apple Bloom said. "Very similar. It's almost like your sisters." Silver Spoon said. "Oh please..." Starlight said as she started the test up. "There is no possible way..." The test was going as Starlight talked. "Not even in a million years is there a way..." She said as the test was about to come up with the result. "That I could possibly be the sister..." And then the test results came back. And what she saw made her faint. "...The sister...of Twilight...Sparkle..." Starlight finished. "Huh?" Apple Bloom said before grabbing the results from Starlight. She screamed alongside her friends when she saw the result of the test. This prompted Twilight to burst through the door. "Girls, why are you screaming?!" Twilight asked. "Princess...it's...about you..." Diamond Tiara said as best she could. "Me?" Twilight took the results. "...Oh...oh my..." Twilight said. "Congratulations...I guess..." Silver Spoon said. "Did you even preform the test correctly?" Twilight asked Starlight. "To the letter..." Starlight said. "And how accurate is this?" Twilight said. Starlight pointed to the bottom. "ONE HUNDRED PERCENT PROBABILITY?!" Twilight shouted in the royal voice. "...And now it's my turn..." She said before she fainted. "...In hindsight, we should've looked at Starlight's cutie mark closer..." Diamond Tiara said. "Let me guess, you think it means she's Twilight's little sister." Apple Bloom said. "Considering their two years apart...yes." Diamond Tiara said. "Why did you have to drop that bombshell on everyone?" Scootaloo said, noticing the other guests were there, heard what Diamond Tiara just said, and now fainted as well. "...Oh boy, this is going to be one very long off-screen explanation..." Diamond Tiara said. "Screen? What Screen?" Silver Spoon asked. Author's Note Yeah I just broke the fourth wall for a joke. New Beginnings Part 3 - Suddenly SistersIt's been a couple of days since Starlight made a huge discovery. One two ponies who weren't there for when it happen would soon find out... "Slow Down Pinkie..." Applejack said following her shuddering and bouncy friend. "Your saying that there's a doozy at Twilight's Castle?" She asked. "Yep. My Pinkie sense has never steered me wrong. Plus, my party senses have been going off like crazy since two days ago." Pinkie Pie said. "So whatever the doozy is, it has to be connected to my party senses as both my Pinkie Sense and my party senses are going off at the same time. That's never happened before." Pinkie said as they arrived at Twilight's Castle. "Woo boy...I bet we missed a battle or something..." Applejack said as they headed for the Map Room. "Could even be that we might be going on a friendship mission. Two cousins on a friendship mission...that's gotta be a first." Pinkie Pie said. Applejack opened the map room doors, finding a pacing twilight, all their friends, and the CMC with their friends. "Oh finally." Diamond Tiara said. "And what's with Pinkie Pie?" She asked. "I think her Pinkie Sense is acting up. judging from the shaking she's doing, I'd say she's sensing a doozy." Rainbow Dash said. "Gee, talk about a two day delay. We've already experinced the doozy I think she's been predictining..." Silver Spoon said. "So ah was right...we missed some huge battle." Applejack said. "Nope. No battles to be had. Unless you want to count Twilight battling against her own mind." Scootaloo said. "Ditto." Sweetie Belle said. "Yeah. That's really the only battle we've had for the past two days..." Rarity said. "I'm still sensing a doozy. And it's only getting bigger..." Pinkie Pie said. "Oh boy...should you just tell them, Starlight?" Apple Bloom said to a worried looking Starlight Glimmer. "What's going on Starlight? Did Trixie do something bad?" Applejack asked. "No! But I'd honestly prefer that over this!" Starlight said. "Especially over this..." She added with a sigh. "Just tell them, Starlight." Fluttershy said. "Better to get it out of the way now before Pinkie starts going crazy." She added, pointing at a very jittery Pinkie Pie. "...Twilight...mind helping me out?" Starlight asked her teacher. "Fine...I could use a break from figuring out how I'm going to approuch my parents about what we've learnt." Twlight said. "Wait...are you dating Starlight?!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed. "What? No!" Both Starlight and Twilight said at once. "Not only is there no romance connection going on between us..." Twilight said. "But it'd be super icky and wierd and very very taboo." Starlight said. "Um...come again? Taboo?" Applejack said. "Also, if I didn't know any better, for a moment, it was like the two of you were sisters." She said. "Oh boy...that joke has run it's course now that fate's been tempted enough with that..." Starlight said. "Fine. So first off, I tested my DNA against my mothers to see where I came from as the whole thing with you and Pinkie Pie being related got me curious to see if I have some long lost cousin out there; one I wouldn't mind seeking out and connecting with. However, turns out, I'm not related to the mare that raised me as her daughter at all. In fact, there's a zero percent chance we're even related." She said. Pinkkie was still vibrating. "Oh boy...the doozie's just starting...I can feel it..." Pinkie Pie said. "So Starlight here dsecided to call her dad and he was insistent that he and his late wife both loved each other very much and were the parents she known them for." Twilight said. "You didn't think to run your dad's DNA after?" Applejack asked. "Well knowing what we know now, there's a mute point. I guarantee you, it'll also come out to be a zero percent probability. Because believe it or not...I'm adopted." Starlight said. That made Pinkie do the thing where she expands a bunch but was still jittery. "Well that was quite the doozy but...my pinkie sense is telling me there's an even bigger doozie to come." Pinkie Said. "Seriously? Just what could possibly top that?" Applejack said. "Your going to regret asking that." Rarity said. "Yeah...trust me." Twilight said. "So I found this complicated test that would give you your closest familial match within equestrian boarders. I folllowed it to the letter and the result...pratically made everyone who wasn't the kids faint upon hearing it." Starlight said. "So? What is it? What was so big that it would cause that kind of reaction?" Applejack asked. "Me and Twilight...well..." Starlight gulped. "...Turns out...we're biological sisters..." She added. That made Pinkie Pie do her exploding and then faint alongside Applejack. Pinkie had stopped jittering. "...And that I'm betting was the Doozy..." Twilight said. "That...was the mother of all Doozies..." Pinkie Pie said. "So...let me get this straight...this entire time that Starlight's been learning about friendship from us...she's been Twilight's sister?!" Applejack exclaimed. "We are. I'm her little sister. Two years younger, in fact." Starlight said. "So...surprise?" She asked, nerviously. "...It's times like this I hate being the element of honesty..." Applejack said. "So...Starlight finding out she's Twilight's Sister..." Pinkie Pie said before suddenly getting her party cannon out. "...It's why my party senses have been going off like crazy for two days straight! Same with my Pinkie sense." She said. "Uh oh..." Starlight knew what Pinkie Pie was gonna do. And she was right: Pinkie Pie fired her cannon and decorations went everywhere. There was even a banner that said "finding your family party" on it. Twilight face hoofed. "I swear I'll never comprehend Pinkie Pie." Twilight said. "Let me guess: You tried studding her Pinkie sense." Starlight said. "Yep. How'd you guess?" Twilight asked. "Sounds like something you'd do, big sis." Starlight said. "I guess I've just gotten to know you that well." She added. "Yeah. And that's not a bad thing, little sis." Twilight said. "Still, what are we going to tell your parents? Let alone Shining Armor!" Starlight said. "Oh boy...I didn't even consider my BBBFF..." Twilight said and began pacing again. "...And there she goes again, way to go Starlight..." Rainbow Dash said. "To be honest...I'm half tempted to join her..." Starlight said. "Yep...they are totally sisters..." Applejack said. "So when you mentioned that saying that you were sisters was an old joke..." She started. "Yeah. First the girls who were here tempted that fate, then the CMC, and then you. The joke has officially run it's course." Starlight said. "Oh yeah. You have to be Twilight's sister. That is very much something Twilight would say." Pinkie Pie said. "And here I was ready to give a stern talking to to Starlight's Parents. Then I find out their Twilight's Parents." Rainbow Dash said. "It's already bad enough that I wish me and Twilight knew what to say to help my biological family stomach this..." Starlight said. "Oh boy..." Applejack said. This was going to be a long winter... New Beginnings Part 4 - Telling others"So you don't care that I'm Twilight's little sister..." Starlight said, as she and Twilight told Trixie about the whole sister thing. "Please Starlight...it'd take a lot more then you being Twilight's little sister for Trixie to disown you as her friend." Trixie said. "Just don't start going around bragging about it. I'd rather not have a repeat of what happened the last time you were here." Starlight said. "Trixie has learnt her lesson on that little factoid. Still, I suppose it makes sense in the end. I always found you to be more of a mini-twilight as you've helped me with my magic." Trixie said. "Only now does Trixie understand why she felt like calling you 'mini-twilight' feels like her complimenting her friend." She added. "Who knows Trixie..." Twilight said as Spike brought in some tea. "If Starlight teaches you enough magic, you might become the most powerful stage magician in existence." She said. "Really Twilight? You really think Trixie could reach that level?" Trixie asked. "I wouldn't say it if I didn't think it was true." Twilight said. "That..." Trixie had to stop her self from crying. "...That actually means more to me then you think it does, Twilight. Thank you. And...sorry for everything." She added. "I've already forgiven you. Everyone does. Even my little sister." Twilight said. "Even so...I still wanted to say it so you know that I meant it." Trixie said. Starlight smiled. "I think that means more to Twilight then you think, Trixie." Starlight said. "It does." Twilight said, smiling. "Jeez...you two really are sisters..." Trixie said. "Now that I see you two together like this, it only made sense for why for brief moments before Trixie found out about your sister hood, Trixie felt like you two were already sisters." She added. "Oh come on!" Starlight suddenly exclaimed. "Not you too! The joke is over now, stupid hand of fate." She added. "Ugh...tell me about it. It's starting to get annoying." Twilight said. "...Trixie missed a lot huh?" Trixie asked. "Oh you have no idea...you wanna hear what led up to me finding out that I was Twilight's Biological Sister?" Starlight asked. "Oh this Trixie HAS to hear." Trixie said, smiling. "...That's a lot to unpack, Twi." Shining Armor said. "...Still...I'm worried how mom and dad will take this." He added. "Trust me...we're both worried..." Starlight said. "Though if you don't mind big brother, we'd like you to be there with Candence when we tell our parents about this whole mess. Might might things go easier." She explained. "Yep...your one hundred percent my little sister. Same need to plan as Twilight. Must run in the mares because mom liked to plan a lot too before she had Twilight." Shining Armor said. "Guess dad doesn't do a lot of planning if ever." Starlight said. "You know it. Though your not over zelous like Twilight and mom are." Shining said. "Guess I must get that from my adopted parents. They might have reeled that in." Starlight said. "By the way, I do want to meet the parents that did adopt you." Shining Armor said. "My adoptive father won't be much of an issue." Starlight said before taking out a necklace with a pciture of a mare on it with a single mane strand attached. "...My adoptive mother on the other hand...She's in a better place now." Starlight mentioned. "Oh...what happened?" Shining Armor asked. "Bug bear attack the day after my 10th birthday party." Starlight said. "I was born the day before what was to be mothers day 14 years ago." Starlight said. "My fifteenth birthday is coming up, and every two years my birthday is always the day before mother's day. it was the same that year too." She added. "That's harsh." Shining Armor said. "Don't remind me." Starlight said. "If there's any consolation in all this...you'll be able to spend mother's day with your biological mother this year." Shining Armor said. "I don't know if that's much of a consolation..." Starlight said. "Twilight Velvet has not been a part of my life for nearly 15 years. I don't know if I'm ready to consider her like I do the mare that raised me like I was her own." She said. "One thing at a time Star..." Shining Amor said. "One thing at a time." He added. Sunburst pushed up his glasses after a long silence. "...Your actually related to one another?" Sunburst asked. "How are you the most calm so far?" Starlight asked. "Well I've honestly never really known Princess Twilight." Sunburst said. "You can just call her Twilight. She's your friend as much as she is mine." Starlight said. "Feels disrespectful..." Sunburst said. "I don't mind." Twilight said. "Seriously, I was expecting you to have a billion questions." Starlight said. "Same old Starlight. You always expect to have answer a bunch of questions." Sunburst said with a smile. "But hey, the way I see it, you've already been through enough finding out your related to; of all ponies; a princess! And being her biological sister at that!" Sunburst said. "That's nice of you, Sunburst." Starlight said with a smile. "Hey, what are friends for right?" Sunburst said. Starlight couldn't help but agree with that. Sure she and sunburst had lost touch, but now it's like nothing could ever separate them again. "...Please don't make me do that dance every time we meet." Starlight said. She had to guess Cadence would make her do the dance her sister-in-law and biological sister do every time they meet. "Sorry. I'm just so excited to have another sister in law. And Flurry Heart gets to have another aunt." Cadence said. Suddenly Starlight fainted. "Oh right...Starlight and I completely forgot about the fact that being my biological sister makes her just as much of Flurry Heart's aunt as me." Twilight said. "Oh boy...I had a feeling there was SOMETHING that I was forgetting. I guess now I realize what that was." Starlight said. "Hey, at least Flurry Heart will have two super cool aunts to play with." Starlight said, smiling. "Well that didn't last long!" Twilight said. "Hey, if it keeps the baby Alicorn under wraps, then we won't have a repeat of the Crystal Heart happening." Starlight said. "I guess your right." Twilight said. "Huh...it it just me, or has the strength of your bound been increasing the more and more you open up to your relationship as not just teacher and student, but also as sisters?" Cadence said. "Huh...maybe it has." Starlight said. "it's something to think about." Twilight said. "I'll have to write this down. If I get another student like Starlight and Sunset, this could make for an interesting friendship lesson for them." She added, smiling before leaving. "And the more things change..." Cadence said. "The more they stay the same..." Starlight agreed. New Beginnings Part 5 - Bonding with Friends"So Twilight is still figuring things out for when you tell your parents huh?" Applejack said. "Yeah. That's going to be a thing still. To be honest, I'm more then happy not confronting them if only because I'd rather not stir up any drama with my sister's family." Starlight said as she helped Applejack; Rainbow Dash was there too. "I suppose in the end it does make sense for you two to be sisters. I mean, you were able to remove cutie marks and travel through time. I know you don't like being reminded of that stuff, but that kind of stuff takes extreme skill in magic. And Twilight's already pretty powerful." Rainbow Dash said. "I guess that's a good point. Especially with how many times she fought with me to stop me from continuing to change history." Starlight said. "We were pretty evenly matched." She added. "Twilight's an Alicorn and you were evenly matched? You sure she wasn't holding back?" Applejack said. "Maybe the first few times, but I think after a while, she started getting more serious about stopping me." Starlight said. "However, I think she was getting to the point where she realized that simply trying to overpower me wasn't working so she tried something different. Of course I didn't believe what I saw, and when I showed her what occurred that was motivating me to do what I was doing I guess she saw that what I really needed was to try and learn to make friends the way she made them with you." Starlight said. "Hey, our differences is what's helped us beat bad guys so many times." Rainbow Dash said. "Sure there are times we fight with one another, but we always managed to move past it." She added. "I guess working out your differences must be a part of being friends." Starlight said, smiling as the trio finished up. "At the very least, I'm glad I have you girls and my sister to support me through this whole process." Starlight said. "Don't forget Trixie too. Ever since you became friends with her, she seems to have cleaned up her whole act." Applejack said. "You do realize what you see when she does her shows is just a persona right?" Starlight asked. This caused Applejack to blink. "It is?" Applejack asked. "Geez, apparently you didn't." Starlight said. "Now I sort of feel bad for when we got on her case about the whole thing. If we knew it was just a façade we would've been nicer to her." Rainbow Dash said. "She acts that way to get people to challenge her. You two and Rarity took things a bit too far when you got Twilight involved." Starlight said. "To say nothing of the Ursa Minor." Applejack said. "That wasn't her fault and you know it wasn't. I ain't gonna defend her against the Alicorn Amulet thing though; that I made sure she knew was a bad thing." Starlight said. "We can't one hundred percent hold that one against her after we found out what it was doing to her." Rainbow Dash said. "Still, she should've tried a different approach then resorting to a magical artifact." Starlight said. "Maybe after a few weeks, I can get her to approach all of you in a more civilized manner." She suggested. "That would be nice. Your really starting to take after Twilight, sugarcube." Applejack said. "I guess the friendship lessons Twilight was giving me before we found out we were sisters have helped." Starlight said. "Which means she's been doing a good job." Rainbow Dash said. "Not that I ever doubted her." She added. "And yet me being Twilight's sister hasn't changed how you all act around me. Your all still hanging out with me as if the whole fact that I'm Twilight's little sister doesn't exist." Starlight said. "It's like we told you Starlight: Friendship is easy once you actually put forth effort to make friends." Applejack said. "Yeah. I guess your right. All that's missing now is my own seat in the map room." Starlight said. "We could ask Rarity to make one." Rainbow Dash suggested. "Don't you think that'd be insulting to the tree of harmony?" Starlight asked. "Geez...and now you've pulled another Twilight..." Applejack said. "Huh?" Starlight was confused. "What Applejack is saying is that you asked something Twilight would've asked. You two are starting to be more and more alike the longer this goes on." Rainbow Dash said. "Hey, Twilight never did anything evil like I did. She may have told me about that whole one time she actually did a bad thing, but that's nothing compared to what I've done." Starlight said. "Yeah...I guess your right." Applejack said. "Your personalities may blend together from time to time, but your still your own pony." She said. "That's deep Applejack. Really deep." Starlight said. "Also, if you weren't already found out to be sisters, I'd swear you were acting like one." Rainbow Dash said. "OH COME ON!" Starlight yelled out. Author's Note Yep, I'm not going to go a full chapter without making that joke. New Beginnings Part 6 - Telling Canterlot"Run this by me again..." Starlight said as she and Twilight approached canterlot castle. "Why are we telling the princesses about me being you-know-what before your parents?" Starlight asked. "Because Celestia is the one who mentored me, and she deserves to know just as much as my parents do." Twilight said. She and Starlight weren't going to say anything about their relationship until they explained the whole thing to Celestia. "I just hope she takes it well." Twilight said. "Hey, it's not like I've done anything wrong this time." Starlight said. "True. I suppose the worst that could happen is she faints." Twilight said. "I thought the whole similarity thing was just a coincidence; it was like you were acting like her sister as it was." Celestia said. "OH COME ON, WHOSE NEXT?!" Starlight exclaimed. They had just told Celestia and Luna about Starlight being Twilight's biological sister. "I wish this joke would just die in a fire already." Starlight said. "You've been getting that a lot, haven't you?" Luna asked. "Like you wouldn't believe at this point." Twilight said. "Then perhaps it only goes to show that you two being biological sisters was the conclusion the test would come up with." Celestia said. "I guess you have a point. I just wish just once...just one day...just one day I can get by without people making the joke that I was already acting like Twilight's sister before we found out we were actually sisters." Starlight said. "Ease your mind, Starlight." Luna said. "You will will need calm when the two of you tell your parents about this." She said. "That's something I'm not looking forward to. Like at all." Starlight said. "I'd rather not mess up Twilight's relationship with her parents." She said. "Your words only prove how accurate the test is, Starlight." Celestia said. "As it shows that you are indeed related to both Twilight and Shining Armor. Worrying about your family is something that seems common place in your biological family." She explained. "This is going a lot smoother then I thought it would in my head." Starlight said. "What did you expect to happen? We know of what you did, do not forget that. But Twilight has sought to teach you proper friendship. If it were up to me and my sister, you would be banished, or thrown into a dungeon, or banished and then thrown into a dungeon in the place that we banish you to." Luna said. "...You just wanted to say that once, didn't you?" Starlight asked. Luna chuckled. "We cannot help it. We feel as if it would've been wrong not to say it for some odd reason." Luna said. Twilight rolled her eyes. "At least the two of you have a sense of humor." Twilight said. "Still, you would be punished for your crimes if Twilight hadn't have made you her student. And despite your newfound sisterhood, I doubt her teaching you about Friendship will change much, if at all." Celestia said. "I guess your right. I still need to learn a lot about friendship. And I guess family now too." Starlight said. "I can only hope things go this well with our parents." Twilight said. "Perhaps we could accompany you?" Celstia suggested. "Nah. Shining Armor and Princess Cadence are already going to be there. Any more, and I think our parents would need a bigger house." Twilight said. "We might need a pillow in case the two of them faint." Starlight said. "Then we are going to need a bigger pillow then the ones my parents have." Twilight said. Starlight laughed. "...I think we broke her..." Starlight said as she and Twilgiht sat across from a shocked Moondancer. "Sorry it's just..." Moondancer collected her thoughts. "I know we promised to stay up to date with each other but this...this is something I didn't expect." She added. "Hey to be fair, I don't think either me or Twilght expected it either." Starlight said. "It did cause a shock between me and my ponyville friends. You should come visit us down there sometime, Moondancer." Twilight said. "You'd...actually be okay with me visiting?" Moondancer asked. "I'd always be okay with it." Twilight said. "And who knows? You might like it so much you'd want to move there." Starlight said. "You mean like Twilight basically did?" Moondancer asked. "It's just a thought..." Starlight said. "Geez...if you weren't biological sisters, I swear you two were being surrogate sisters." Moondancer said. "OH COME ON!" Starlight exclaimed. Author's Note The joke was made twice in one chapter. Why? You'll find out next chapter. New Beginnings Part 7 - Sudden FamilyStarlight followed Twilight Sparkle, Shining Armor, and Princess Cadence to the house where the parents of Twilight Sparkle and Shining armor lived. Starlight gulped. One correction: The parents of Twilight Sparkle, Shining Armor, and Starlight Glimmer. "Is it...normal for me to be nervous about meeting my biological parents?" Starlight asked. "I suppose I would be too in your hoofprints, Starlight." Twilight said. "But no matter what, I want an explanation." Shining Armor said. He knocked on the door. "No turning back." Cadence said. "Right..." Starlight said. Twilight Velvet and Night Light answered the door. "Oh! Twilight and Shining...what brings you to Canterlot?" Twilight Velvet said. "I do." Starlight said. "...Hello mother and father..." Starlight said. "St-starlight?!" Night Light said. "WAIT YOU KNEW?!" Twilight asked. "We...may need to tell you what happened..." Twilight Velvet said. "So Starlight before we tell you why we had to put you up for adoption...we need to know how this all came about." Twilight Velvet said. "It's not that long of a story, actually..." Starlight said. "I asked Twilight about why one of her friends and the family they had were visiting another family for hearth's warming. Something about the two friends being cousins or something. Anyways, it got me into wanting to map out my own family tree, see if there's any distant relatives I might not know of that I would love to connect with. So I ran my DNA against my adopted mother's." Starlight explained. "The test came back with a zero percent chance of relation so I called my adopted father and he was so sure about never cheating on his wife that it just clicked for me that I had to be adopted." She continued. "You didn't call your adoptive mother instead?" Night Light asked. "She's the one that was there for the paper work to adopt you before you were even born." He added. "...We'll get back to that statement. To answer your question, I couldn't talk to my adopted mother about it because she was killed in a bug bear attack when I was ten." Starlight said. "Oh how horrible! Your adopted mother was such a nice mare; she did not deserve to be killed by such a beast!" Twilight Velvet said. "...Yeah...she was nice. So anyways I decided to do a test to see if there was someone within the boundaries of Equestria who I could be related to. The result of which lead me to finding out that the princess of friendship and your daughter, Twilight Sparkle, is my biological sister." Starlight said. "Um...question: Wouldn't the test also tell you that your Shining's Sister as well?" Night Light said. "The Crystal Empire is not fully Equestrian Territory. It was removed from being considered part of Equestria once Sombra enslaved it one thousand years ago." Shining Armor said. "So trust me, I made sure to check. If the test is for Equestria specifically, then it would only single out Twilight. But there's no doubt in my mind that she's my biological sister as well. You haven't seen how similar she is to Twilight." He explained. "At least you didn't say a different thing." Starlight said. "Yeah. I think it's gotten old too." Shining Said. "Well to be honest, the moment I knew I was pregnant with a third child not even two years after Twilight was born...I knew we just would not be able to handle another child." Twilight Velvet said. "But thankfully, we met your adopted mother when she arrived in Canterlot for a business deal that went wrong shortly before we met her. Believe it or not, but the mare who adopted you was sterile. As in she would never be able to have kids of her own. And we were essentially her saving grace." She added. "Of all the explanations...you had me adopted by a mare who would never be able to have her own biological child." Starlight said. "When you say it like that, you don't get the full story..." Night Light said. "...Before we talked about this, I was half-ready to never accept either of you as being part of my life." Starlight said. "But now I hear how much you were caring for someone besides yourselves and I no longer know what to decide..." She added. "Just take it one step at a time Starlight." Twilight Velvet said. "We may not be able to make up for the time we missed, but we would love to consider you a part of the family at least." She added. Starlight smiled. "Well my biological siblings have already accepted me as part of your family so...I suppose if your willing to try, we can make this work." Starlight said. "That's good." Night Light said. "So...is it too soon to talk about potential love interests with you, Starlight?" Twilight Velvet asked. "MOM!" Twilight, Starlight, AND Shining Armor all yelled out at once. Author's Note Yep. This is why. No joke here. Just a family wholesome chapter. New Beginnings Part 9 - Onto Biological Connections"Phew...that was a rush..." Starlight said. "Never knew the Sisterhooves social could be so exhilarting." She added. "I still don't know how you two eggheads beat everyone. Including the now former champs!" Rainbow Dash said. "Yeah. We've all been praticing all year." Scootaloo said. "And even with Applejack and Rainbow Dash competing with each other most of the time..." Apple Bloom said. "Ya still managed to get first place. FIRST PLACE." Applejack said. "I normally would not get upset over something so trivial but...even I'm a little peeved that I lost to the two of you." Rarity said. "Yeah." Sweetie Belle said. The group soon left the area to get cleaned up. Starlight was currently sitting in a chair she found in storage in the map room. It's not like the thrones for Twilight and her friends, but she did with what she could do. She put it close to Twilight's throne of course. She even had similar chairs to her own set up for the CMC. Twilight soon entered. "That was one wild rush." Twilight said. "I'm glad you decided to stick around. It was a lot of fun running the Sisterhood Social with you, little sis." She said. "I can say the same thing, big sis." Starlight said. "Wanna hear something funny Starlight?" Twilight asked. "Go right ahead." Starlight said. "I like everyone else thought you were acting just a little too much like my sister before we found out we were actually sisters." Twilight said. "OH COME ON! I THOUGHT WE WERE OVER THIS ALREADY?!" Starlight exclaimed. Twilight started laughing. This made Starlight lose her anger and start laughing with her sister. "You totally said that just to say it once, didn't you Twilight?" Starlight asked. "I'm sorry, I couldn't help it." Twilight said, smiling. "Well since your the only person who hasn't said it at this point...I suppose all's fair." Starlight said, smiling back. "Wait you had a feeling Starlight was Twilight's biological sister the whole time?!" Apple Bloom said. She, the CMC, Diamond Tiara, and Silver Spoon were at the CMC clubhouse. "Between her mannerism and similar cutie mark, it just all fit." Diamond Tiara said. "Unbelievable. And because we lost the sisterhooves social to them, then as per our agreement, you and Silver Spoon get to pick what we do next." Scootaloo said. "Don't worry, I already have something in mind." Diamond Tiara said. "Are you going to make us wear ridiculous costumes for a day?" Sweetie Belle asked. "Nah. Diamond Tiara's got something a little different in mind." Silver Spoon said. "This whole family thing with Starlight got me thinking about how well we know our own family trees. So I say we do our own research into our own families see if we can't find realtives we don't know about." Diamond Tiara said. "But what the hay are the chances another bombshell like Starlight's will happen again?" Apple Bloom asked. "Never tempt fate Apple Bloom..." Diamond Tiara said. "Never tempt fate..." She repeated. TO BE CONTINUED IN "SUDDENLY SISTERS 2: BIOLOGICAL CONNECTION" Biological Connection Part 1 - Adopted ScootalooScootaloo's P.O.V. I arrived at the clubhouse ahead of the others. I had testing of my DNA to do against that of my parents. After all, gotta start with the family I do know, right? After all, what good is it to map out my family tree if I don't start with my parents. Just need to do some testing real quick... While I wait for this test to process, how about I tell you a small story in regards to when we showed Starlight the CMC clubhouse which wasn't that long after she and Twilight came back from Canterlot? There me and my best friends were guiding Starlight to our clubhouse. "So is there a reason you are inviting me to your clubhouse?" Starlight asked us. "Well even though you already have your cutie mark, Apple Bloom, Scootaloo and I all discussed certain things..." Sweetie Belle said. "And we came to the conclusion that since your now a sister of the elements like the three of us..." I said. "That you should be an honorary Crusader. Just so long as you help us out when we deal with helping other ponies find their true talents." Apple Bloom said. "That's awefully nice of you three...but aren't I a little old to be hanging out with you five fillies?" Starlight asked. "Hey, if you hang out with us, then Applejack and the others can stop worrying about us needing adult supervision all the time." I said. "I guess I can handle that." Starlight said smiling. "Besides, maybe it'll get my mother to lay off me. With you being the sister of the princess, maybe she'll stop yelling at me." Diamond Tiara said. Silver Spoon glanced at her best friend. "She's still yelling at you?" Silver Spoon asked. "Yeah. Still not sure why daddy hasn't divorced her yet." Diamond Tiara said. "So you call your father daddy, but you refuse to call Spoiled Rich mommy..." I said. "Until she starts acting more like my mother and starts supporting my decisions, she is getting no 'mommy' comment from me." Diamond Tiara said. "Which is why if I get a child of my own, I'll make sure to support their decisions and let them become their own person. I won't care what kind of friends he or she makes; so long as they are real friends like the four of you girls are for me.' She explained. "That's surprisingly nice of you to say, Deets." Apple Bloom said. Diamond Tiara blushed. "It...it's nothing Apps..." Diamond Tiara said blushing. Her statement caused Apple Bloom to blush and me to look back and forth between the two. "...Wait are you two...DATING?!" I exclaimed. "Sort of..." Apple Bloom said. "We're not dating dating yet. But we have agreed to see how strong we feel about each other for the remainder of our elementary school days. If our feelings persist into high school...then we'll start dating dating." Diamond Tiara said. "Do you think your mother will..." Sweetie Belle was about to ask before I stopped her with a hoof to the mouth. "I don't think Diamond cares what her mother thinks anymore." I said. "Thanks for the assist Scootaloo." Diamond Tiara said, smiling. "Hey, what are friends for right?" I asked. What else would friends be for then to support each other. I don't care if Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara actually hook up with one another. Their both my friends, and I'll support them no matter what. Oh hey, the test is done. I go to check them. When I see the results, I let out a high pitched scream and faint. A few minutes later, my friends all burst through the door, Starlight is there too. "Scootaloo, what's going on?" Starlight said. Suddenly Applejack showed up. "...Starlight why are you here?" Applejack asked. "Actually, answer that later. Scootaloo, why'd you scream so loud sugarcube? I heard your scream from all the way out in the southern orchard; and that's the furthest orchard from the clubhouse!" She said to me. "My family test..." I said. "Pardon?" Applejack was confused. "Did you girls decide to check your family trees after what occured with me?" Starlight asked. "It was my idea. Figured it'd be a fun bounding activity we could do together." Diamond Tiara said. "But right now, none of the four of us who were outside had anything major to reveal." Silver Spoon said. "So it's leaving Scootaloo as the last potential for a bombshell..." Sweetie Belle said. "But really, what are the chances of that?" Apple Bloom asked. "What did I say about tempting fate, Apple Bloom?!" Diamond Tiara exclaimed. "Let me see those test results..." Starlight said. She gasped. "...ZERO PERCENT PROBABLITY?!" Starlight said. "This is all too familiar..." Silver Spoon said. "SEE APPLE BLOOM! YOU TEMPTED FATE AND NOW WE FIND OUT THAT SCOOTALOO IS ADOPTED TOO!" Diamond Tiara yelled. "Diamond Tiara, I have have half a mind to..." Applejack said. "She's right..." Apple Bloom said. Applejack blinked. "Come again?" Apple Jack asked. "Ah tempted fate too much...and now ah have to deal with the consequences." Apple Bloom said. "Technically Scootaloo has to deal with the consequences..." Starlight said. "Seriously, why is she here?" Applejack asked. "We'll tell you later...but right now I guess we need her help as now I need that test she did for herself." I said. "Actually it's not that long of a story: They just figured since I'm Twilight Sister I should hang out with them whenever I want." Starlight said. "And even made me an honorary Crusader." She added. "Well...I guess in that case, I can overlook ya'll not telling me. At least Starlight is responsible." Applejack said. "So can she help us set up the test for me?" I asked. "Sure thing sugarcube." Applejack said, smiling. Biological Connection Part 2 - The Big RevealScootaloo's P.O.V. Now with Applejack's permission, we can get started on that test that Starlight made. "No matter who comes up Scootaloo, I want you to promise me you won't be upset with them." Starlight said. "I don't know if I could ever be upset with someone. Could even be someone super awesome and amazing." I said. "Well I can safely rule out any of the five of us as being potentially your true family." Diamond Tiara said. "Double on you, Diamond Tiara. Friends or not, I would never be able to live with being associated with your mother." I said. "At least that we can both agree on. Hell, I'd probably run away from Ponyville with you and the rest of our friends if there's a universe out there where we're friends and also sisters. The less I have to spend around my mother the better. And I wouldn't ever let you get put into her grip." Diamond Tiara said. "That actually is pretty deep. Makes me wonder if there is some crazy universe like that." I said. "Oh god my brain..." Silver Spoon said. "Chill Silver Spoon; it's a hypothetical thing. No offense Scootaloo, but I hope there isn't a universe where we are biological sisters. Heck, not even just biological, a universe where you get adopted by my parents." Diamond Tiara said. "Now that one...that one I know for sure I'd run away from home with you in." She added. "You know something Diamond? Maybe I misjudged you before I started giving you a chance to be a true friend. If you want, I'll let you call me Scoots like my friends do." I said. Diamond shook head. "No. That's something I won't take away from your best friends. Doesn't feel like I've fully earned it yet." Diamond Tiara said. I smiled. "Gee Diamond...you really wanna feel like you've earned that right if your that passionate about it." Apple Bloom said. "Thanks Bloom." Diamond Tiara said. "I don't want it handed to me. I wanna feel like I've earned it. For once in my life, I wanna feel like I've earned something." She added. "Well whenever your ready, you have my permission Diamond Tiara." I said. "Good to know ahead of time, Scootaloo." Diamond Tiara said. "So thanks for that." She added. "You five sure are moving past your differences." Starlight said. "We're friends now. And friends look out for each other." I said. Suddenly the test results came in. "Oh boy I can't wait, who is it? Who is it?!" I ripped the results out of Starlight's hooves. And was stunned. "...Who is it? Don't keep us all in waiting Scoots." Silver Spoon said. "Um...Scootaloo?" Starlight took the results back from me. "...Huh...interesting..." She said. "Well? Who is it?" Sweetie Belle said. "Better not be Blueblood..." She added. "No, thankfully not him. Whoever that is." Starlight said. "Her closest living realtive; with a one hundred percent probabilty; is the element of loyalty herself, Rainbow Dash!" She announced. The room fell silent. "...Um...what's wrong?" She asekd. "Oh my gosh..." I said slowly. But then burst with excitement and starting flying all over the room. "OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!" I yelled. "Sc-scootaloo..." Diamond Tiara said. "What?" I asked, hovering in place in the air and not knowing. "You...your flying..." Diamond Tiara said. As soon as she said that, I noticed. "OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!" I yelled as I started doing more flying around the room. "Huh...apparently that news was so great to her that she's managed to start flying." Silver Spoon said. "NOT IMPORTANT!" Sweetie Belle said. "Well...okay yeah it is important but...that's not the most shocking revolation..." She added. "Then what is?" Starlight asked. "That Scootaloo is Rainbow Dash's biological sister when they've been surrogate sisters this whole time." Apple Bloom said. "...And here I go..." Starlight said but instead of fainting... "Wait, your not upset?!" She exclaimed. "No! In fact I'm thrilled! I can't wait to tell her! I wonder how she'll react!" I said and opened the door and flew out. "...Gah! Wait for us!" Diamond Tiara exclaimed. BEST. NEWS. EVER! Biological Connection Part 3 - Biological ConnectionScootaloo's P.O.V. I finally arrived to where Rainbow Dash was. “RAINBOW DASH!" I yeleld out as I flew towards her. "Whoa!" Rainbow Dash said and joined me in the air. I stopped before I collided with her. "Well lookie here squirt: Your actually flying. All that mentoring paid off dividends huh?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Yep. And I have you to thank for it, sis." I said. My friends and Starlight soon joined me. "Think nothing of it, Scoots. I'll still be here if you want lessons and as your surrogate sister." Rainbow Dash said. "Actually Rainbow Dash, that's why I came to see you." I said. "I just did some testing...there's a one hundred percent chance I'm your biological sister." I added. "Hey Sweetie Belle, twenty bits says Rainbow Dash is gonna flee." Diamond Tiara said. "I bet thirty she's gonna go either gonna go into panic mode or Scootaloo just broke her." Sweetie Belle said. Rainbow Dash instead just closed her eyes. "Bucking finally..." Rainbow Dash said, surprising everyone. "What?!" Both Diamond Tiara and Sweetie Belle exclaimed. "Do you know how hard it is keeping a promise to one's parents about your relationship with a foal who looks up to you like a big sister when they have no idea?" Rainbow Dash asked, opening her eyes. "Because that's what they did: They made me promise to to say a word and let Scootaloo find out on her own." She said. "Yeah, I knew the whole time, but I couldn't say anything. Because you know, Loyalty. Trust me though, I was half tempted to just say 'buck the promise' and be there for my little sis more then my parents. I'm just relieved I can finally stop worrying so much. In fact, I was considering telling Scoots first thing tomorrow." Rainbow Dash said. "That's okay big sis. It's fine. I don't mind." I said. Rainbow Dash blinked. "You mean your not mad at me?" Rainbow Dash asked. "I could never get mad at you. You've already been a big sister to me this whole time in your own secret way of doing so. That doesn't have to change. You just don't have to hide our biological connection now." I said. "Heh...that's a big relief. I thought you might get mad at me keeping a secret like that." Rainbow Dash said. "It's not your fault." I said. "But you do know whose fault it really is for making you promise and thus keeping our connection a secret." I added. "I guess we're on the same wave length then: It’s my parents that deserve your anger. Not me." Rainbow Dash said. "Their my parents too you know." I said. "No their not." Rainbow Dash said. "Huh?" I was confused. "They don't get the right to call you your daughter. Not after making me promise to hid our biological connection to you." Rainbow Dash said. "The ponies who raised you? Their the the only parents that get that right. They were more loyal to you then my parents ever were." She added. "But what about us being Biological sisters?" I asked, I was confused more now. "I never said that I didn't accept that. When you asked me to mentor you, I jumped at the chance. Because that way I could treat you like the little sis you were to me from that point onward instead of treating you as just a fan. And I did a pretty good job at being your big sis too, didn't I Scoots?" Rainbow Dash asked. "You've got a point...you did practically treat me like your little sister while still keeping the promise to your parents..." I said. I was getting it now. "And that's not gonna change squirt. Even with you finding out the truth. I just no longer have to be careful about slipping up and telling you myself. But hey, that means I fulfilled my promise to my parents. For what that's worth." Rainbow Dash said. "So I can still call you my big sis right?" I asked. "So long as I can call you my little sis." Rainbow said. I smiled. "I can live with that sis. But...I am going to have to step down." I said. "Step down? Step down from what?" Rainbow Dash said before realizing. "Oh...that..." She added. "Huh?" Starlight was confused. "Scootaloo is the president of the Rainbow Dash fan club." Apple Bloom said. "Soon to be former..." I said. "It wouldn't be right for me to be the president of my own biological sister's fan club." I added. "It's the right thing to do. Besides, I no longer need to run the club." I finished. "Oh really? Why's that Scoots?" Rainbow asked me. "Because I'm hoping that once I'm old enough, I'll join the wonderbolts alongside you." I said. Rainbow Dash smiled. "I'd like that." Rainbow Dash said. "Even if you never let me see my biological parents, I at least have you big sis." I said. "Thanks squirt. I'm glad you accept me as your biological sister." Rainbow Dash said. "Hey, I can be loyal too." I said, smiling. "Heh...feels like we could do what my parents couldn't for you for when we have children of our own." Rainbow Dash said. "You bet: Loyalty to family all the way." I said and hugged my big sis. "I love you big sis." I said. "I love you too, little sis." Rainbow Dash said. Oh my gosh she actually said she loves me. BEST. DAY. EVER! Biological Connection Part 4 - Telling the Main 6Scootaloo's P.O.V. Even though I could fly, my friends couldn't. So using my scooter and the wagon, I managed get everyone to the castle of firendship where Rainbow Dash planned on telling her friends. "Hey girls..." I turned to my friends. "You all go ahead, me and Rainbow will be a minute." I said. "Sure thing Scoots." Sweetie Belle said and went inside with everyone but Rainbow Dash. "What's up squirt?" Rainbow Dash asked. I gave her a hug. "...Haven't you already hugged me enough little sis?" She asked. "Is hugging my big sis really that big of a deal? It's not that sappy is it?" I asked. Rainbow laughed and ruffled my mane. "No. I suppose it's not. Like I thought the first time you mentioned not liking sappy stuff, you were already becoming more like my actually little sis when you still had no idea." Rainbow Dash said. "Guess that's what'll connect us forever and always huh?" I asked. "...Your starting to push the sappiness meter now..." Rainbow Warned. I laughed. "Sorry big sis." I said. "Your lucky I can forgive you so easily little sis. My parents on the other hand...I don't think I can ever forgive them." Rainbow said. "Now that's something we can both agree on. Totally not cool am I right?" I asked, smiling. "That's my little sis." Rainbow Dash said, smiling back. "And now YOUR pushing the sappiness meter big sis." I warned, sticking out my tongue playfully. Rainbow Laughed. "So glad I no longer have to pretend I'm your big sis. Because now I can take that in stride." Rainbow said. "I know. Same here with the things you do." I said. "We've got to be some loyal sisters in that regard." Rainbow Dash said. "Must run between us two huh? Maybe we stole it from those biological parents of mine." I joked. "That's a good one." Rainbow Dash said, smiling. And I should've expected everyone to faint upon telling them the news that wasn't there for it. "...Deja vu much?" Starlight questioned with concern. "At least this makes me 20% cooler...right?" I asked, a shy smile on my face. "Geez, it's Starlight all over again!" Pinkie Pie said. "I guess I gotta make a 'you found your biological sister' party...again." She added and left. "Same old Pinkie Pie..." Rainbow Dash said. "I would question why she's the most sound one of the others, but then again, it's Pinkie Pie. The moment you start questioning her, is the moment you give yourself a massive headache." I said. "I can relate." Twilight said. "I think it's safe to assume that everyone but Twilight knew not to mess with Pinkie Pie's impossible logic." Starlight said. "I tried to make sense of it, but I gave myself a headache about it. So I really have no option outside of just rolling with it when it comes to her." Twilight said. "Somethin' everyone else already found out." Applejack said. "Of course you'd say that, Applejack." I said. "But is anyone upset? Objections maybe?" I asked. "Nope. I don't think there's any doubt really. I suppose the fact that before you found out, you were already acting like sisters to one another when you didn't know Scootaloo." Rarity said. But my attention turned towards a late arrival of Fluttershy. "Oh...I'm sorry for evesdropping but...did Scootaloo say something about being Rainbow Dash's Biological sister?" Fluttershy asked. "Did you tell Fluttershy, big sis?" I questioned. "No! I told myself if I couldn't tell you, I couldn't tell anyone. So I didn't." Rainbow Dash said. "Don't even get me started on how hard that was alongside keeping the secret from you, sis." She added. "Oh Rainbow Dash didn't tell me personally..." Fluttershy said. "But one day, I did overhear her talking to herself about you and the secret she was keeping from everypony. I don't even think she realized I was there." She explained. "...You know it's rude to evesdrop on your friends right?" I asked. "I know. I'm sorry. But I wasn't trying to." Fluttershy defended herself. "Easy there Scoots. Remember, Fluttershy can be sensitive about everything." Rainbow Dash said. "Oh right...sorry." I said. "It's okay." Fluttershy said. "Not my finest moment..." I said. "I think everyone's accidently almost upset Fluttershy." Rainbow Dash said. "Except maybe Starlight." Twilight said. "Wait you mean she hasn't done that yet?" Diamond Tiara asked. "I could tell she was sensative from the whole village enslavement thing." Starlight said. "So I've always made sure to watch my wording around her." She added. "...I guess it helps to have prior experience..." Twilight said. "Huh...actually, watching your wording around friends...there's a friendship lesson I don't think I've ever considered. I have got to go write this down." She said and left. "...The more things change..." I said. "The more they stay the same." Rainbow Dash said. "Deja Vu much?" Starlight questioned, confused. Biological Connection Part 5 - True ParentsScootaloo's P.O.V. Since it was getting late, it was time for everyone to get home. Rainbow Dash came with me to my house since I wanted to tell my adopted parents about my biological connection. "You sure you want to be here with me when I tell them?" I asked Rainbow Dash. "Yeah. Besides, I want to meet the ones who've been raising you all this time as I've never met them." Rainbow Dash said. "Welp, then here goes nothing." I said and knocked on the door. A female pegasus and a male earth pony soon opened the door. "Scootaloo...what's Rainbow Dash doing here with you?" My adoptive mother asked. "Now sweetie, remember Rainbow Dash is old enough to make her own decisions." My adoptive father said. "...Hey dad...hey mom...can me and Rainbow Dash come in?" I asked. "Sure thing sweetie." My mother said and we headed inside. "I noticed you've finally started flying. First your cutie mark, and now your flying. So proud." My father said. "It's thanks to Rainbow Dash's teachings. She's been such a good mentor to me. But that's not the main reason she's here with me today." I said. I sighed. "Oh boy...I thought I had my nerves in order to say this...but..." My mother stopped me. "I think I can guess then. You finally found out you were adopted by us and discovered Rainbow Dash to be your biological sister, didn't you?" My mother asked. "...I'm guessing you met them then. My biological parents." I said. "And here I was ready to give the promise speech again..." Rainbow Dash said. "Funny you should mention a promise...because your real parents..." My father said but I cut him off. "Mommy, daddy...my big sis Rainbow Dash made it clear to me that my biological parents don't deserve to call themselves my parents. They lost that right. And I agree with that statement. As far as I'm concerned, you both are my real parents. Because you practically raised me as your own daughter and have treated me very well in that regard. So I guess the bottom line here, is that my real parents are you two. It's always been you two. And that will never change." I said. "...I hope that wasn't too sappy..." I added. "Nah. That was fine little sis." Rainbow Dash said. I smiled. "Thanks big sis." I said. "But let me guess: They made you promise not to tell Scootaloo and let her find out on her own just like they did to me?" Rainbow Dash asked. "...Guess we don't need to give a speech after all..." My father said. "Figures..." Rainbow Dash said. "Seems I'm the only one of my family who was loyal to Scoots as best as I could be without breaking the promise to my parents. Though I'll be honest, I was very close to doing so anyways. Because seriously, buck that promise. My little sis deserved to know." She said. "I am glad she found out on her own though. And thankfully I don't think it changes that much between us. Sure, I'm still going to treat her like my little sis, but I can be a little more of myself around Scoots now." Rainbow Dash explained. "And we thank you so much for agreeing to take Scootaloo under your tutelage. Clearly it's paid off dividends." My mother said. "She came to me about it, actually." Rainbow Dash said. "So I chose to accept that role for her because it would allow me to be the big sis I wanted to be to her without breaking the promise to my parents. I wish she had found out before getting her cutie mark instead of after. But oh well. At least now I can better train her." She said. "But aren't you a Wonderbolt now Dash? Do you really think you can manage?" My mother asked. "Hey I can fly now remember? I doubt Spitfire or anyone related to the wonderbolts would stop me from seeing my big sis every now and again." I said. "That's a good point...well made dear." My father said. "You'll have to wait a few weeks for Spitfire to put you on the biological family list so security doesn't get on you by accident first squirt." Rainbow Dash said. "There's a list for that sort of thing?" I asked. "Surprised me too, I know." Rainbow Dash said. "Well one day, I hope to become a Wonderbolt too. And I will do my best to get in." I said. "That's the spirit sis." Rainbow Dash said and we hoofbumped. "Ah...our little filly is growing up..." My mother said. "But we couldn't be more proud of you, Scootaloo." My father said. This has been THE BEST DAY EVER! The Things That Changed Part 1 - The Day Before the WeddingIt's the day before the wedding of Spike the Dragon and Sweetie Belle. Well...actually their not the only ones being married tomorrow. In fact, it's a double wedding feature: First it's Spike and Sweetie Belle; only to be followed by Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara. "I still can't believe the two of you love each other so much. I would've thought by now the two of you would've broken up." Scootaloo said. "Ah know Diamond that well Sugarcube." Apple Bloom said. "And we're all getting married under the same tree that my ma and pa planted. The same tree where my brother and sugar plum also got married under." She added. "Got to admit...getting married under such a special tree like that...it's like it's out of a fairy tail." Diamond Tiara said. "For once, I'm inclined to agree with you, my precious daughter. I may not have approved of your friends, and you being into mares in the beginning but..." Spoiled Rich said before looking out the window at the tree in question. "...Then I look out at the tree your getting married under, and I know everything will be just as perfect as it was." She added. "Seems like only yesterday me and your mother were starting to have a falling out..." Filthy Rich said. "But then you intervened, and everything was right in the world..." He said, smiling. "Oh yeah, that whole thing with the perfume. I remember that." Sweetie Belle said. The dragon in question soon arrived with Twilight, Starlight, Applejack, Big Mac, and of course, Rainbow Dash. "Everything is ready for tomorrow." Twilight said. "This'll be the first time a princess has ever had to oversee two weddings back to back. But I've got this." She said. "I think that's why the two couples agreed to let you be the one to marry them both because they knew of your planning skills, big sis." Starlight said. Twilight pulled her little sis into a hug. "Shining Armor won't be able to make it here as Cadence is sick in bed. But that's why I've got my own royal guard as security." Twilight said. "Are you sure it's such a good idea to let that mare who was once part of the Storm King's army be one of only two of your guards on security detail?" Spoiled Rich asked. "Captain Tempest Shadow can take care of herself mother." Diamond Tiara said. "As for Flash Sentry...he's technically not even part of security. That's only part of what the public knows." She said. "DAMMIT DIAMOND, THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SECRET!" Twilight yelled. "Busted. There goes your secret husband." Starlight said with a smirk. "Oops...I'm sorry...that slipped my mind..." Diamond said. "That's fine..." Twilight said. "I was going to make it public after the double wedding anyways..." She added. "Oh..." Diamond Tiara said guitly. "And this Tempest Shadow...your certain she can handle the security detail by herself then?" Spoiled Rich asked. "Oh trust me, she can. Even though her magic isn't that powerful, her physical strength rivals that of my own magical prowess." Twilight said. That made Spoiled Rich gulp. "R-right...in that case...you do you..." Spoiled Rich said, scared for her life. "So no one better object, or they'll be getting taken out." Diamond Tiara said, smirking. "Right...of course..." Spoiled Rich said. "Still can't believe it's been eight whole years since that day...that day that changed everything..." Spike brought up. "I can remember it like it was yesterday..." Rarity added. "So can the rest of us..." Applejack said. "And it ain't mushy...not by a long shot..." Rainbow Dash said. "Oh yeah. Not one bit." Scootaloo said. "That reminds me...I know how my daughter and Apple Bloom got together but me and my husband were curious...how did the you fall in love with Spike, Sweetie Belle?" Spoiled Rich asked. "Forgive an old mare for being curious." She said. "Should we tell her together, my dear dragon?" Sweetie Belle asked Spike. "We should." Spike said. "Right...so everything began eight years ago. It was while Scootaloo was recieving training with Spitfire and Rainbow Dash..." He began. Author's Note I decided to fix up the continuity of this particular chapter to better fit with my story Changing A Spoiled Mind which is connected to this one. The Things That Changed Part 2 - The Day that Everything ChangedEight Years Ago, Sweetie Bell's P.O.V. Button Mash was at his house on his brand new gaming console that his mother recently bought him when suddenly I stormed into his room. "Oh! Sweetie Belle, there you are. Was wondering when..." Button Mash started but noticed I looked angry for some reason. "...Sweetie, did something..." He was cut off when I suddenly used my magic to throw a gaming handheld at him. "BUTTON MASH, HOW COULD YOU?!" I exclaimed. "I can't believe you would go and spend the five hundred bits I gave you last week on a gaming handheld." I added. "Well you didn't tell me I had to buy anything specific..." Button Mash countered. "YOU IDIOT, DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT TODAY IS?!" I exclaimed. "Uh...it's Saturday and that means I can stay home and play games all day so I can work on my homework tomorrow." Button Mash said. "IDIOT, IT'S BEEN EXACTLY ONE YEAR SINCE I STARTED DATING YOU!" I yelled out. "Oh...oh gosh...so then the five hundred bits was..." Button Mash realized what he had done. "DUH! I was covering the cost of your anniversary gift to me. So I asked your mother what you spent the money on since I didn't see a gift anywhere on the table for me, and she showed me this thing." I said, pointing a hoof at the handheld gaming console. "Listen...Sweetie...I can make it up to you..." Button Mash said. "Forget it Button Mash; obviously you care more for gaming then you do about me." I said. "Sweetie Belle please...just give me another chance..." Button Mash begged. "NO! I'M THROUGH GIVING YOU CHANCES!" I said. "Every Friday you've given me the same old excuse that you got lost in your games for a year. I've let you slide with that excuse because I believed deep down you still cared enough for our relationship to want to make this work. Games and all. But now?" I suddenly stepped on the gaming handheld so hard that I broke it. "NOW I KNOW HOW YOU REALLY FEEL. IT'S OVER BUTTON MASH, WE'RE THROUGH!" I said and turned to leave. "I'm going to go find a different boyfriend, one who will actually spend time with me and care about me!" I said before leaving Button Mash's house entirely. Button Mash looked at the broken handheld. It showed him just how much he had broken my heart that day. "...If only I hadn't have been so blind..." He said, a tear fell down his cheek. "I swear to myself...the next time I get a girlfriend, I won't let the same thing happen." He swore in silence as the tears fell. The breakup was a reality check. One he desperately needed. Present Day, Third Person P.O.V. "About month later, Button Mash and me actually started dating." Silver Spoon said. "We've been really getting into it. I think your break up really hit him hard." Silver Spoon said. "It's too late for him to fix what he broke with me. Spike took care of that." Sweetie Belle said. "But he did eventually become my friend again." She added. "So that's how Button Mash became so refined...but how did Spike get over the whole...crush thing on Rarity?" Filithy Rich asked. "I mean, from what I understand, that was a thing." He added. "Oh Sweetie Belle wasn't the only one who got heartbroken that day." Spike said. "But we did eventually mend fences a month later. Still, had I had known...I wouldn't have have had that stallion over the day I broke his heart..." Rarity said. Eight Years ago, Spike's P.O.V. At the same time Sweetie Belle was breaking up with Button Mash, I was over at Rarity's when I saw that Stallion she was trying to keep hidden from me. That was when my heart was broken... "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME RARITY?!" I yelled at her. "Now Spikey Wikey..." Rarity tried to baby me but I swated her hoof away. "No. You don't get to call me that anymore. All this time I thought you felt the same about me as I do you. But now I see all the times you had me help you were just you using me." I told her. "Spike, that's not true..." Rarity said. "Oh really? Then that Stallion isn't truth either." Spike said, pointing at the stallion in question. "Spike, you've got the wrong idea about..." Rarity said. "Don't even try to hide how nice he looks. He looks ready for a date. I know the look well. I saw Twlilight with the same kind of look the other day for reasons I cannot tell you." I said. "I was going to tell you, but now your officially off the list of trustees for my own adoptive mother!" I said and turned to leave. "If Twilight wants to tell you, then that's up to her. But if she doesn't, then that's also none of my business. All I know is that I wish I had never had a crush on you, Rarity. I would've saved myself the heartbreak." I said and then left. "...Spike...I'm sorry...I'm so sorry..." Rarity said and broke down into tears. Present day, Third Person P.O.V. "Of course that Stallion turned out to only be interested in me for my business. I eventually finally hooked up with a unicorn mare who did appreciate me for who I am as a pony. However, she died a few years ago." Rarity said. A young unicorn filly came up the stairs. "Oh. There you are White Powder. I was wondering where you were." Rarity said. "Hi mom, hi aunties, hi everyone else." White Powder said. "If you were married to a mare...then where'd she come from?" Spoiled Rich asked. "A spell that combines the DNA from two mares and impregnantes one of them. I'm the only one outside of the royal sisters and my sister-in-law cadence who are able to cast the spell. Though the cost that it brought..." Twilight said. "The mare that Rarity married died during child labor. It had nothing to do with my spell though. Shortly after giving birth to White Powder, the mare that Rarity married had a heart attack and died shortly after." She added, a tear fell down her cheek. "It was a rough road, but everyone pitched in to help take care of her." Diamond Tiara said. "Including me. We didn't want Rarity to have to deal with raising her alone." She added. "That's...awefully nice of you, sweetheart." Spoiled Rich said. "Then I think when you and Apple Bloom go through with the same spell, not only do I have faith the one who delivers the child will survive, I know you'll both be great mothers." She added. "Wow that's...actually the nicest thing you've ever said to me mommy." Diamond Tiara said, smiling. "Took you eight years...but your finally are acting more like my mother." She said. "Better late then never I always say." Starlight Glimmer said, smiling. "That sounds like something Twilight would say. If you weren't sisters, I swear you'd be copying her." Filthy Rich said. "OH COME ON, IT'S BEEN EIGHT YEARS! I THOUGHT THE JOKE HAD DIED OFF AT THIS POINT!" Starlight yelled to the heavens above. "Guess someone decided to get that joke in one last time." Pinkie Pie said. "What the heck do you mean by that?" Starlight asked. "You'll see." Pinkie Pie said. Author's Note Upon merging the stories, the Pinkie Pie fourth wall break about there being one last "Starlight coping Twilight" joke was moved here from where it was originally to better fit with how the merged story is formatted. The Things That Changed Part 3 - The Way Everything ChangedPresent Day, Third Person P.O.V. Down below, Spitfire was with Rumble and Soarin before being joined by Rainbow Dash. "No worries, she hasn't said anything about the real reason Spitfire is becoming the new manager of the Wonderbolts once we're done with the reception show." Rainbow Dash siad. "Good. Then she's kept it secret like we told her." Spitfire said. "But this is secretly a test to see if Scootaloo is ready to join me and the rest of the wonderbolts for real still right?" Rumble asked. "Yep. That's why she's in the show. If she does well enough; and trust me when I say that she will do well enough; she'll be a full-fledged wonderbolt starting tomorrow morning." Spitfire said. "And you'll be the new wonderbolt manager after a week as everything transitions so that I can be the new captain." Rainbow Dash said. "Which is why this is just as much of a test for you as it is for Scoots. It's why I'm not going to be in this show and instead appointed you as the leader." Spitfire said. "But I have utmost faith in your leadership abilities Dashie." She added with a smirk. "Still can't believe you two are really going to reveal your relationship a month from now..." Soarin said. "I figured it'd happen sooner, but I guess you didn't want the tabloids going crazy about Spitfire getting with a recent full-fledged wonderbolt a whole year after that day eight years ago." Rumble said. Twilight's Parents soon joined everyone else. Well...Twilight and Starlight's parents. "To think the little Dragon my daughter raised like her own son is about to get married..." Twilight Velvet said. "I don't know if me or my husband will be around to see any potential great-grandkids from you two, but I hope you two think about it in the future." She said. "MOM!" Both Twilight and Starlight said. "It's alright Twilight..." Spike said. "Besides, right now, we're telling the riches how exactly Sweetie Belle and I got together." He added. "Shouldn't we wait for Rarity's parents to arrive and tell them?" Night Light asked. "They aren't coming..." Sweetie Belle said, rage evident in her voice. "They aren't going to make it. The latest letter from them even said 'happy sixteenth birthday' when I'm already eighteen years old!" She said, her rage building until Spike pet her until she calmed down. "...Thanks Smoochums...I needed that." She added. "I know you did. I did the same thing to you eight years ago and was how we got started on our relationship." Spike said. Eight Years ago, Spike's P.O.V. Storming out of Rarity's place, I headed to the tree that overlooked the entirety of Sweet Apple Acres. However, on that hill was Rarity's Sister Sweetie Belle. From the sounds she was making, she was super upset. "Sweetie Belle...are you okay?" I asked her. "No...I'm not..." Sweetie Belle said inbetween sobs. "Button Mash he..." She said, tears continuing to flow. "He never cared about me!" She finally forced her self to say. I started to pet her. "There there..." I said. "Shouldn't you...be with my sister?" She asked me. "I was just there. She played me for a fool Sweetie Belle." I said. "Figures...I was wondering how long it'd take you to walk in on her and one of the fifty plus stallions she's tried to date..." Sweetie Belle said. Present Day, Third Person P.O.V. "To be precise it was eighty-nine total stallions I dated." Rarity said. "I lost count after number fifty." Sweetie Belle admitted. "Also, please don't interrupt us again." She added. "Right...of course..." Rarity said. "It's fine Rarity." Spike said. Eight Years ago, Sweetie Belle's P.O.V. "And clearly I'm not the only one whose heart was broken today..." Spike said to me as he let me cry into his scales. Oh celestia his scales. He felt so warm and was so very gentle. We were there for a few hours as he continued to pet me to calm me down. And it worked. "Thanks for taking the time to help me out Spike." I said. "You know...I may not be my sister, but...if your willing to put forth the effort, I will gladly give you a shot." I said, smiling. "Funny...we both got our hearts broken, and now the two of us are going to see if we can find love with each other." Spike said. Present Day - Third Person P.O.V. Sweetie Belle had calmed down, so Spike stopped petting her so she can sit up. "To say what we were doing was a huge undertaking would be accurate..." Sweetie Belle said, now joined by Button Mash; her ex-boyfriend and Silver Spoon's special somepony. "Two broken hearts mend one another and eventually the two find more with each other then ever before..." Button Mash said. "Huh...could make for a good video game plot..." He added. Button Mash in recent years has went from playing games to actually being lead designer and director. "Some things never change..." Sweetie Belle sighed. "Admit it though, it would be a good plot; if not for a video game, then for a story." Silver Spoon said. "You mean like the one their telling everyone right now?" Diamond Tiara asked. "Huh...how about that?" Silver Spoon said, feeling silly. "And I do mean everyone..." Diamond Tiara said. "...Who else is there?" Silver Spoon asked looking around. The Things That Changed Part 4 - The One that Everything ChangedPresent Day, Third Person P.O.V. The Wonderbolts downstairs soon joined everyone upstairs. Lighting Dust was also there. "Lightening Dust...what the hell are you doing here?" Rainbow Dash asked, growling at the washout. "...You mean you don't know about the next part?" She asked. "What next part?" Spitfire asked. "I thought we knew everything about that day eight years ago..." She added. "Well there was one thing we never told anyone...and it's about time we talked about it..." Sweetie Belle said. "It's actually why Lightning Dust hasn't been doing anything reckless for eight whole years..." She added. Eight Years Ago, Spike's P.O.V. Sweetie Belle and I were having a hangout to test the waters at Sugarcube Corner. Admittedly, the two of us spent nearly the rest of the day with one another. "...This has been the best date I've had in a year." Sweetie Belle said. "After so long of trying to work things with Button Mash, it's nice to be with someone who actually wants to spend time with me." She said. "Same. It's so much better to want to spend time with someone then trying to do something else." I said. Suddenly, the door to Sugarcube Corner in, and in walked a very injured looking Lighting Dust. Present Day, Third Person P.O.V. "WHOA WAIT A SECOND, YOU WERE INJURED?!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "Yep. During one of my big stunts too. Was going to make a team of washouts from the wonderbolts too. But then...well...these two..." Lightning Dust pointed to Spike and Sweetie Belle. "They set me straight." LD added. Eight Years ago, Sweetie Belle's P.O.V. I looked over to the injured Lighting Dust. "Oh...oh my gosh!" I rushed over to them with Spike right beside me. "Are you okay miss?" I asked. "I'm fine...just a scratch." Lighitng Dust said. "No, you are clearly a lot more then just scratched. Spike, go get Pinkie Pie; we need a doctor for her" I said. "On it! I'll send a letter to Twilight." Spike said and went off. "Seriously kid, I'll be fine." Lighting Dust said before I used my magic to hold her in place. "You'll be fine when the doctors say you'll be fine; and I want no argument about it!" I said. Soon a doctor arrived and took Lighting Dust to a hospital. Present Day, Third Person P.O.V. "How did that set you straight?" Spitefire asked. "The trip to the hospital made me realize just how serious it really was. If these two hadn't have forced me to go to the hospital, I would've never realized how life threatening doing stunts could be." Lightning Dust said. "That's why ever since then, I've been on the up and up. Once I was out, I decided to relearn flying from the ground up. After hearing about how successful you had been teaching Scootaloo to fly, I decided to take up learning how to teach others how to fly. The right way." Lighting Dust said. She produced a business card. "And thus, I'm happy to say that I run the new 'Filly Flight School' on the weekends. I may teach for free, but every parent whose sent me their pegasus children has been generous with the donations. My current class looks to be my most capable yet." Lighting Dust said. "One of them wants to become a wonderbolt when their older. So I've been spending more personal time with them making sure she doesn't make the same mistakes I did. And she reminds me a lot of how I was when I was her age." She added. "Wow...you two sure turned her life around, didn't you?" Rainbow Dash asked. "...Now I regret ever doubting my daughter's friends if one of them can cause such a popular flight school to become a reality. Yes I've heard about the Filly Flight School. Every high class pegasus parent I've talked to that's sent their child to that school because they simply do not have the means to tutor their child on the weekends for one reason or another has sung nothing but high praise about the school." Spoiled Rich said. "It's that good? Huh...good to see you've turned your life around, Lightning." Spitfire said. "I would never have done so if it weren't for the drake and his bride here." Lighting Dust said. "And me. I guess I was the inspiration behind the whole thing." Scootaloo said. "Yes you were you up and coming wonderbolt you." Lighitng Bolt said. "I'm sure you'll be a fully fledged wonderbolt before next week." She added. "Really? You mean it?" Scootaloo asked. "You got the spirit Scootaloo. Hell I'll cheer the loudest from the stands for you today." Lighting Dust said. "OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!" Scootaloo flew around room a bit. "The more things change..." Apple Bloom said. "The more they stay the same..." Diamond Taira finished. "At least she's careful." Lightining Dust said as Scootaloo got back in her chair. "Sorry...I got too excited." Scootaloo said. "Understandable, I mean, you've got your very own fan before your even a full fledged wonderbolt." Rainbow Dash said, smirking. "I'll make sure I do 20% better at the special pre-reception show then!" Scootaloo said. "There's a wonderbolt performance before the reception starts?" Spoiled Rich asked. "Totally my idea. It'll make this double wedding 100% more awesome!" Scootaloo said. "And I'm in it on special request. Three of my best friends are getting married in a double wedding, so I wanted to make it as special as I possibly can for it to be the first double wedding." She added. "...Again, I really misjudged your friends, Diamond Tiara." Spoiled Rich said. "Your forgiven mommy." Diamond Tiara said. "I just wanna make sure this is the best double wedding ever." Scootaloo said, smiling. "I have a feeling it will be." Filthy Rich said, smiling. The Things That Changed Part 5 - The Greed Everything ChangedPresent Day, Third Person P.O.V. "Shall I finish up from here Sweetie Belle? You need your beauty rest for tomorrow." Spike asked his bride. "Sure thing Spike. See you tomorrow, Smoochums." Sweetie said and left with her sister. "Right...well...This part my adopted mother knows about..." Spike said. Eight Years ago, Spike's P.O.V. "YOUR DATING SWEETIE BELLE?!" Twiilght exclaimed once I told her. "Yep. She got heart broken by Button Mash and I got heartbroken by Rarity. Things just sort of happened from there." I said. "I'm sorry it's just...your growing up so much Spike..." Twilight said, tears in her eyes. Or was that Liquid Pride? ...Totally Liquid Pride. "I've got to grow up at some point. I guess now is a good time to mention that I've always seen you as my adoptive mother, Twilight." I said to Twilight. "Oh Spike..." Twilight wing hugged me. It was nice. Present Day, Third Person P.O.V. "That's it?" Spoiled Rich asked. "Not much more to tell. Me and Sweetie Belle dated for a whole two years. I was much better of being her boyfriend and the only one who wanted to see her for who she was. Everyone else just shrugged her off as Rarity's Younger Sister who wasn't amongst her best friends. Even other colts and later stallions Sweetie's Age. Throughout each one of those that hurt her by calling her Rarity's Younger Sister and treating her as nothing but, I was there. I wasn't going to let her be alone as she worked through the hurt and the pain." Spike said. "I stuck by her side, whenever she needed a shoulder to cry on, I was there. Whenever someone tried to rape her, I was there. And whenever she struggled with her homework even, I was there. Rarity can testify to that last one." Spike said. "I'm a dragon by nature, and I have to deal with keeping my greed from flaring up. But for the first time, my greed worked in my favor when it came to my relationship with Sweetie Belle. Our love became my greatest treasure; far more valuable to me then anything in the world. Even gems were nothing compared to my love for Sweetie Belle. Thus, my greed kicked in, making me want Sweetie Belle's love more then anything else. And over time, I've managed to even use it to my advantage. The one time my greed did something good. And that was three years ago." Spike said. Three Years ago, Spike's P.O.V. I went over to Rarity's to pick Sweetie Belle up for our date today. However, Rarity was on the couch eating ice cream non-stop. "...Let me guess, you had another break up?" I asked. "No...worse..." Rarity showed me the ransom note. "...Pay seventy thousand bits within one week or never see your sister again?!" I read outloud. "Sweetie Belle's been kidnapped...and there's no way I'll make enough money in time..." Rarity said. "SPIKE WANT!" I said before heading out side, morphing a bit as my greed triggered me to change into that mid-stage form I was when I let my greed control me. Only this time I felt in control. "Sp-spike..." Rarity came out and confronted me. "Don't get greedy on me now, Sweetie needs you!" She said. "SPIKE WILL GET SWEETIE BELLE BACK!" I said and walked off. Rarity went wide eyed. Present Day, Third Person P.O.V. "I think it was more so that his lust for my sister combined with his greed to drive him to the lengths he was willing to go." Rarity said upon coming back. "RARITY!" Spike yelled. "Sorry...sorry..." Rarity said. Three Years Ago, Spike's P.O.V. Unlike last time when my dragon nature took effect, this time I was in full control. I would get Sweetie Belle back. For she was MINE and MINE alone. I managed to find her thanks to the enhanced nature of my mid-stage form making me focus on Sweetie Belle specifically. I found her tied up and held by two stallions from class who were planning on torturing her to death. "What the...A DRAGON?! HERE IN PONYVILLE?!" One of the Stallions said. "GIVE SPIKE SWEETIE BELLE!" I warned them. "NEVER!" The other Stallion said. "Uh...I think we just signed our own death warrent dude..." The first stallion said before I knocked them both out by hitting them against each other. I saved Sweetie Belle and reverted to normal once she hugged me. "Spike...your greed saved me..." Sweetie Belle said. "It...it was nothing my darling..." I said to her. "But it meant everything to me..." Sweetie Belle said before kissing me on the cheek. The very act caused me to pass out. I woke up sometime later back at my room in Twilgiht's Castle with Sweetie Belle and Rarity beside me. "My handsome prince..." Sweetie Belle cooed at me. "Oh Spike...you saved my sister...I can't ever thank you enough!" Rarity said. "Don't mention it Rarity." I said. "You saved me from two mean stallions. Your my hero, Smoochums!" Sweetie Belle said before kissing me again. "Sm-smoochums?!" I exclaimed, caught off guard. "Well since my sister kept calling you Spikey Wikey, I figured I might as well get to call you something unique to me, and me alone." Sweetie Belle said. I smiled. "I can deal with that, my love." I said. "Oh Smoochums..." Sweetie Belle said, clearly head over heels for me at this point. Present Day, Third Person P.O.V. "Huh...that's why she called you Smoochums earlier..." Spoiled Rich said. "Yeah. It's her thing. No one else gets to use it." Spike said. "No one was planning on it, sugarcube." Applejack said. "It's getting late...everyone turn in for the night." Twilight said but stopped Spike. "...Do we need to tell them about your proposal?" Twilight asked her adopted son. "No mommy...we don't. As it was the same two stallions, same thing as last back then on the day I planned to propose to her. Which I still got to." Spike said. "I guess your right, my son." Twilight said. Tomorrow was a big day... Trilogy's Ending Part 1 - The Lives Everything ChangedTwo years have passed since the grand double wedding...so how did everyone end up? Celestia, Luna, Twilght, and Candence all lived long lives, though not immortal ones. Twilight may outlive the other elements of harmony, but she has faith she will see them again when her own life fades. Shining Armor was killed in battle during a massive invasion by a suddenly revived King Sombra. He was laid to rest in the Crystal Empire. King Sombra was later defeated once more and for good by Flurry Heart using the Crystal Heart. For Applejack, she looked after the farm like her granny did before her; eventually earning the title of "Granny Applejack" from the kids Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara had thanks to the spell that allowed them to have children. The lesbian couple have two beautiful children who both get along really well with the children of Sweetie Belle, Silver Spoon, and Scootaloo. Speaking of, while a half-breed, Sweetie & Spike's child; a unicorn filly they named "Gem Star"; was treated with respect and love for fear that she could have some of her father's blood in her that would cause those that mistreat her to pay the price. Silver Spoon and Button Mash got married and had a daughter of their own they called Combo Breaker; a video game refrence Button Mash thought was approiate since his break up with Sweetie Belle broke the combo of using video games as an additction. Button Mash is also now the president of his own video game company which Silver Spoon helps out with from time to time. Unofficially of course. Scootaloo became a full-fledged Wonderbolt shortly after the double wedding, and she and Rumble really hit it off. They had a daughter they named "Dream Stream", and shortly after she was born, the two got married. Lighting Dust gladly taught Dream Stream at her Filly Flight School on the weekends with no need for donations. Speaking of Lightining Dust, she too had a daughter she calls "Second Wind", and plans on raising her to take over the business once Lighting Dust passes on. It's unclear who the father is. Rumors are it's a stallion that once wanted Rarity for her business. Rarity meanwhile never remarried and took care of White Powder who became Gem Star's older sister over time. The two have had a few ups and downs, but it reminded Rarity and Sweetie Belle of their own sisterhood. History seems to be repeating itself, as a male dragon Twilgiht's own daughter hatched has developed a crush on White Powder. Twilight made her relationship to Flash Sentry Public Knowledge, the two had a daughter named "Velvet Night" in refrence to her two grandparents who saddenly passed away one day during Twilight's Pregnancy. Velvet Night was nammed after the two grandparents she would never get to see alive. Just like her mother and aunt, Velvet Night makes friends easily and loves to study too all while being very strong in her magic abilities. And she's just a unicorn. As for Rainbow Dash and Spitfire, they too had a daughter they named "Blazing Skies", she's Dream Stream's sister and enjoys lessons from "Auntie Lighting" as she's decided to call Lighting Dust. To say that Lighting Dust could've actually cried a river the day that Blazing Skies said that personally to LD would be an accurate statement. Pinkie Pie hooked up with Cheese Sandwich and the two of them had a daughter named Lil' Cheese. She's just as much of a Party Pony as her parents as well as her aunt and uncle Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake who took over the bakery from their parents when Mr. and Mrs. Cake passed away. As for Applejack, she did have a daughter named Apple Cider and she became the sister to the daughters of both Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara. Apple Cider was actually away for three years to learn more about the world at large alongside her friend Amelia. Amelia is the daughter of Fluttershy and Discord. She's got chaos magic like her father, but also cares for others like her mother. She owns a pet rabbit she modified with Chaos Magic named Jack. Starlight meanwhile hooked up with Sunburst and had a daughter named Luster Dawn who Twilight will make her personal student like Celestia did for the purple alicorn all those years ago... And as for everyone else, life moves on as it usually does. A much older Twilight could be seen with the children mentioned in the final pages of the story she just read to all of them. Her niece Flurry Heart; who was much older now; was also there. "And that, is how I remember them all...At least for those that are no longer with us." Twilgiht said. "That's...such a good story, Auntie Twilight." Flurry Heart said. "So what do you even call that story anyways, mom?" Velvet Night asked her mother. "I call it...Suddenly Sisters: The Trilogy." Twilight said with a gentle smile. "To think, it all started by mentioning a genealogy study I did on Pinkie Pie and Applejack. I never expected things to turn out the way they did..." She said. "But I'm very glad for it." She finished as she put the book away. Trilogy's Ending Part 2 - One Final ThingTwo Years ago, Scootaloo's P.O.V. I knocked on the door of my big sister's office. "Come in." I hear her calling from inside so inside I go. "Hey big sis." I said to my sister who was with Spitfire. "What's up little sis?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Well I hope you don't mind me going through your things big sis..." I said. "I don't. Sisters should share their things." Rainbow Dash said. "What's up squirt?" She asked. I took out a photo that had a baby version of myself, alongside two ponies I recognized as my adoptive parents alongside two I don't recognize at all. "This is them isn't it?" I asked, regarding the two I don't recognize. "The ones with my adopted parents...their my biological parents aren't they?" I asked. "Scoots, we talked about this..." Rainbow Dash said. "I know. But I found a note alongside it. It basically told me everything you told me eight years ago before Sweetie Belle and Spike got together." I said. "Oh. That thing. That was on the off chance you found that picture before you found out through other methods." Rainbow Dash said. "I figured as much. A way of telling me that yes, the two pegasus who are holding me alongside my adoptive parents are my biological parents." I said. "But I'm glad I found out the way I did instead. Who knows how everything would've turned out had I found out this way instead." I added. "I doubt you would've been that upset. I mean, I did my best to make sure you know that your biological parents are the ones to blame. Not me." Rainbow Dash said. "Still, I would've been angry at you for choosing to keep your loyalty to them over me. Now? Now I understand it. I understand why you would've preferred I found out a different way besides your note and this picture. And I'm glad I did. Because it allowed us to be proper sisters and be loyal to each other." I said. "Don't focus on the past so much Squirt." Spitfire said. "What's done is done. Don't worry about how things could've been. Focus on how things are going to be from here on out." She said, smiling. "That's not a bad tip." I said, getting up. "Thanks as usual Spitfire. I'll see you later, sister-in-law." I added before leaving. "...Wait but..." Spitfire tried to call for me. "What? Did you think I was gonna keep my little sister out of the loop?" Rainbow Dash asked her lover. Spitfire smirked. "...No. No I suppose not." Spitfire said. "I CAN HEAR YOU!" I yelled from outside. We all laughed. Present Day, Scootaloo's P.O.V. "And yeah...that's the last loose end that really needed sayiing." I said to Dream Stream and Blazing Skies. "So you and Rainbow Dash are still pretty tight sisters huh?" Dream Stream asked me. "Yep. We certainly are." I said as Rumble got back. "I'm back sweetie." Rumble said to me. "Finally, I'm starving!" I said and joined him at the table. "I can't wait to see what you cook up next." I said. "Heh...I'm glad your so loyal to me, otherwise I would think you'd love me for my cooking instead of who I am." Rumble said. I laughed. "Please, I'm much more loyal to my family then my biological parents ever were." I said. "I'm glad that's the truth." Rumble said. "Life can't get anymore awesome then how we all have it right now." I said. "Scootaloo, if mommy Rainbow Dash was here, she'd say your pushing the sappiness meter." Blazing Skies said. I couldn't help but chuckle at that statement. "And then I'd tell her, it wouldn't make my statement any less true." I said. "My mom has you there." Dream Stream said. "Aw man...I always lose to auntie Scootaloo." Blazing Skies said. "Cheer up squirt." I said, ruffling Blaizing Skies's mane. "I've just been at this long enough to know how things work." I said. "I guess that's a fair point. Doesn't make the sting of defeat any less though." Blazing Skies said. "And like I said: Even if it is sappy to say, life can't get anymore awesome then how everyone has it now." I said. "Amen." Rumble Said. Life really could not get anymore awesome then how it is right now for everyone. And I hope you all have an awesome life like ours too. SUDDENLY SISTERS: THE TRILOGY[/b] THE END Biological Connection Part 6 - Sisters till the endScootaloo's P.O.V. I was waiting for wonderbolt practice to finish today so Rainbow Dash could train me a bit. It's been a few weeks since we discovered our biological connection. In that time, not really a lot has happened to me and my friends. In fact, nothing really changed for all of us. "Guess that's a testimate to how much me and Rainbow Dash already felt like sisters..." I said. Suddenly I noticed Spitfire come up to me. "Scootaloo right? Rainbow Dash will be here shortly." Spitfire said. "Heard from your big sis that your gonna start training to be a wonderbolt even though your not old enough for it yet. I like your gumption kid." She said. Suddenly Rainbow Dash entered. "Thanks for waiting little sis." Rainbow Dash said. She was still in uniform. "So that's what you look like in your wonderbolt uniform. It makes you look at least 20% cooler big sis." I said. "Gee...thanks for that." Rainbow Dash said. "You two really are sisters. I almost swore that she sounded just like you, Flier." Spitfire said. "Tell me about it. I think I've rubbed off on her from all that time I spent with her when she didn't know." Rainbow Dash said. "Speaking of...Spitfire, wanna help me train Scoots today?" Rainbow Dash asked. Is she seriously asking? Of course Spitfire is going to... "I don't see why not. I want to see what she's capable of right now though." Spitfire said. "OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!" I was gushing now, zooming around the room in excitement. "...Yep...totally your biological sister..." Spitfire said. "Sisters until the end I say." Rainbow Dash said. She would be right. We would be sisters till the end. Eight years have passed since then. Spitfire is on her last year as Captain with Rainbow Dash set to take her place. And me? I'm only in the Wonderbolt Reserves right now, but with my big sister's training regimen and some help from Spitfire, I think I'll be a full fledged Wonderbolt before the year is through. New Beginnings Part 1 - Adopted StarlightStarlight arrived at the castle after playing in the snow with Rainbow Dash. "Phew...that was fun." Starlight said. "I never knew a snowball fight could be so...fun..." She added. "Yeah. And if you ask me, we both won." Rainbow Dash said, smiling. "Huh?" Starlight was confused. "It was good hanging out with you today. I'll admit, I've been nervous about this whole 'letting you hang with all of us' thing Twilight told you to do this winter, but I think I've gotten over it." Rainbow Dash said. "Still hung up on all that past stuff huh? Look, I've apologized for it already. Like, seventy times over." Starlight said. "More like seventy-five, but your right." Rainbow Dash said. "I think it's time for me to let bygones be bygones..." She said and put her hoof out. "Let's both be better friends from now on, deal?" Rainbow Dash said. "Deal!" Starlight bumped hooves with Rainbow Dash before closing the door and hanging her snow gear up. She then went to find Twilight in the Map room. "Oh Starlight!" Twilight said, smiling as she saw her student enter the map room. "Did you have fun with Rainbow Dash?" Twilight asked. "Yes. A lot of fun, actually." Starlight said. "I can see why you hold your friends in such high regard. All whose left to hang with is Applejack and Pinkie Pie." She said. Twilight blinked. "Wait...you've spent time with everyone else?" Twilight asked, unsure. "Let me recap the past day and a half for you: I started by helping Fluttershy get her animals ready for winter hibernation, then I helped Rarity out with some designs she could give out to the people from that village I helped form, and I just got done with Rainbow Dash. I thought you might want to go last." Starlight said. "Actually...I can't be last. Not for another couple of days at least." Twilight said. "Why's that?" Starlight said. "Applejack took off with her family so that they could spend Hearth's Warming eve with Pinkie's family." Twilight said. "Oh. Well I guess I can spend time with you next. Why are the apples going to Pinkie's rock farm for Hearth's Warming anyways?" Starlight asked. "Well back when the Golden Oak Library existed, I once did some genealogy research for each of my friends. For the most part, nothing surprised me." Twilight said. "Genealogy? Isn't that basically familial study and research?" Starlight asked. Twilight nodded. "Things got interesting when I started digging into both Pinkie Pie and Applejack. The more I dug up on one, the more I would find out about the other. Eventually, I found out that the two are cousins. Very distant cousins, but cousins none the less." Twilight said. "Wait, so their related?!" Starlight exclaimed. "Yep. Sure their just cousins, but ever since then, Pinkie Pie and Applejack have taken their friendship with one another to a whole another level." Twilight said. "So this is them attempting to make some connections huh?" Starlight said. To which Twilight nodded. This gave Starlight an idea. "Hey Twilight, I think I'm going to do some Genealogy research of my own. I'll let you know if I find out anything interesting." She said. She then took out a locket and trotted off. "I wonder who she could be related to. Well, I really hope it's nothing as crazy as Pinkie Pie. Then again, what could top that?" Twilight asked. Suddenly she felt a shiver down her spine. "...Why does it suddenly feel like I've just tempted fate?" Twilight Asked. "Not even one percent..." Starlight said. She had just did testing to compare her DNA to that of her mothers, which she had a spare lock of mane of. "But that can't be right..." Starlight asked. She then decided to call her dad. "Hey dad it's me. Yes I'm still alive. No, I'm not bad anymore, honest. Listen dad, your still my dad right? Then did you cheat on my mom?" Starlight asked. "...What do you mean why do I ask? I just tested my DNA to that of my mom's and it's not even a one percent probility. In fact, it's zero. So I have to know, who is my mother?" Starlight asked. "...Why are you so instant I know who it is? Okay then, how can she be my mother if..." Starlight stopped her self. "...Nothing dad. Goodbye. Love you..." She said and hung up. "...I'm adopted..." Starlight said. She went to find her teacher right away. "ADOPTED?!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed after Twilight told her, Fluttershy, and Rarity. "It's the only explanation. My dad was very insistent that my mother was who she was. And if he's so certain that the mare I know as my mother is my mother, then that only can mean that I'm not the biological daughter of the two ponies I know as my parents." Starlight said. "Well even if you are adopted, I think it was kind of those two ponies to raise you as if you were their own." Flutttershy said. "You know something...your right." Starlight said with a smile. "It was nice of them. Still, it makes me wonder who my real parents are." Starlight said. "I hope you find out who and tell us darling. I would love to make you a little necklace to celebrate." Rarity said. "Of course you would..." Rainbow Dash said. "Now Rainbow please be nice. This is already potentially life changing for me as it is." Starlight said. "Still, I'm hoping that no matter who my parents are, it changes nothing about our friendship." She said. "It won't. No way am I about to let who you were born to effect how I feel about you." Rainbow Dash said. "It'll be your parents I'll be more pissed at." She added. "Gee, that's a one eighty." Starlight said. "Element of Loyalty, remember?" Rainbow Dash said with a smirk. "And your biological parents obviously weren't loyal to you." She pointed out. "I'm sure they must have had SOME reason for it. Let's not rush to judgement now." Twilight said. "Twilight's right. Maybe I was born into a family who already was struggling to get by; or had so many kids that they couldn't afford to raise another one; or they maybe they were just too young to legally keep me." Starlight said. "The explanation could literally be anything." She added. Everyone looked at her. "...What? Was it something I said?" Starlight asked. "You know...for a moment there, you sounded just like Twilight." Spike said, speaking up for the first time. "Yeah. It was so weird. And the way you went about saying it was totally something Twilight would do too." Rainbow Dash said. "Not to mention just how many different very reasonable explanations you gave us just now. It's not unlike something Twilight would do." Fluttershy said. "I think what we mean to say Starlight Darling...is that if we didn't know better, we'd swear you were Twilight's sister or something." Rarity said. "What?! Me? The sister of my own Teacher?!" Starlight exclaimed. "That's a stretch if I've ever heard one!" She said and left the room. "Girls please..." Twilight said. "I could just very easily be rubbing off on Starlight. Or any number of specific reasons. I'd list them all right now, in fact..." Twilight suddenly stopped herself and went wide eyed. "...Oh sweet Luna, please don't let that be the case..." She said. "Could my student...really be my sister?" Twilight asked. "If she is, that's one Tartarus of a thing for Applejack to miss out on." Rainbow Dash said. "Knowing Pinkie Pie, she'll probably throw a party over it..." Rarity mentioned. "If nothing else, I'm sure everyone will support the two of you." Fluttershy said. "Even if I'm secretly praying that Starlgiht is not my sister?" Twilight asked. Her friends nodded. "I was afraid of that...I guess time will only tell though." Twilight said. Author's Note What is with me making Rainbow Dash exclaim stuff? I first do it in "Reign of Shadows" and now I do it here. What is wrong with me?! New Beginnings Part 8 - Moving AheadStarlight and Twilight finally arrived back at the Castle of Friendship. "What a wild ride this has been." Starlight said. "Yeah. That's kind of the norm it seems with me and my friends." Twilight said. "Sounds like I'll have to get used to it." Starlight said as they entered the castle and then the map room only to get surprise partied. "SURPRISE! WELCOME TO SISTERHOOD STARLGIHT GLIMMER!" Pinkie Pie shouted. Maud Pie was there with her, as was Applejack with Apple Bloom, Rarity with Sweetie Belle, and Rainbow Dash with Scootaloo. "Of course Pinkie Pie would have a party ready for us when we returned." Twilgiht said. But she noticed no one else was there. "Hey, where's the rest of the girls?" She asked. "Pinkie Pie made it clear this was a party only for those with sisters." Maud Pie said. "And I totally let Rainbow Dash bring along Scootaloo even though their just sarrogate sisters." Pinkie Pie said. "That's my sister for you." Maud Pie said. "Good to see you too Maud." Starlight said to her. "Wait, you two know each other?" Pinkie Pie asked. "We met a bit after I made friends with Trixie. I never got the chance to bring it up with Twilgiht." Starlight said. "You made another friend so quickly after Trixie?!" Twilight exclaimed before stopping her self from crying. "So proud..." She said. "I'm surprised your not making a big deal out of it like you did Trixie." Starlight said. "Hey, I said I wouldn't judge you for the friends you make from now on." Twilgiht said. "And I meant it." She added. "Thanks big sis." Starlight said, smiling. "Even if I don't like parties as much as my sister, I wanted to attend this one because it was a party for sisters." Maud said. The rest of the guests started gathering around Starlight. "It'll take some gettin' used to treating you like Twilight's sister." Applejack said. "Especially given everything." Rainbow Dash said. "But I think we can all put forth the effort." Scootaloo said. "Especially because now you and Twilight can join in the Sisterhooves Social if ya all want." Apple Bloom said. "Right. I forgot that was a thing." Twilight said. The party went on for four hours straight. Eventually the party started to wind down. "Hey Starlight, can I be honest with you for a second?" Pinkie Pie asked. "That's Applejack's thing, but go ahead anyways." Starlight said. "You were already acting a lot like Twilight's sister before you found out you were here actual biological sister." Pinkie Pie said. "OH COME ON!" Starlight yelled out in frustration. Author's Note Short chapter, but that's only because it's the last proper chapter before we get a time skip. The Things That Changed Part 6 - The Wedding Everything ChangedIt was finally the day of the double wedding. Spike was waiting at the altar already with Diamond Tiara escorted to the Altar ahead of Apple Bloom. Sweetie Belle was then escorted by her sister Rarity and Apple Bloom was escorted by Applejack. Twilight began. "Mares and Staillions, fillies and colts; we are all gathered here today for the first double wedding in Equestrian History." Twilight said. "So let's all make it a good one." She said. In attendance for this grand double wedding was all of Ponyville, the relatives of Diamond Tiara, the entire apple family clan, Twilight and Starlight's parents (both biological and adoptive in the later's case even if it's just her adoptive father); plus Shining Armor and his wife, the royal sisters, Tempest Shadow, Moondancer, Flash Sentry, the CMC, the Wonderbolts, Starlight's friends Trixie and Maud Pie; additionally the other elements of harmony, and last but not least Sunset Shimmer who was streaming the wedding for her friends from the other world to see (she was allowed to attend such a big event for that exact purpose). Cameras were also stationed to capture the weddings for all to see across the news. "I turn my attention first to Spike and Sweetie Belle. Do you, Spike the Dragon, take Sweetie Belle to be your wife for as long as you both shall live?" Twilight asked. "I do..." Spike said. "And Sweetie Belle, do you take Spike the Dragon to be your husband for as long as you both shall live?" Twilight asked. "I do; one thousand times over!" Sweetie Belle said. Everyone chuckled. "Now for the other couple. You own vows, as you requested." Twilight said. "Diamond Tiara...standing here now with you, under the tree that my ma and pa planted...I would like to solidify our own union so that one day our love too may grow as big as this tree has." Apple Bloom said. "Apple Bloom...I was such a complete jerk to you when we were younger, and yet we both moved past it and found love in one another anyways. No amount of money could ever hope to replace the love for you in my heart." Diamond Tiara said. "Bring forth the rings." Twilight said. Silver Spoon obliged. Sweetie Belle levitated hers to her horn, Spike put his on a claw, and the two earth ponies put theirs on a hoof. "As the Princess of Friendship, I now pronounce you four, as the first dual couples to be wed in equestria during the same cermony!" Twilight said. The Wonderbolts soon did a grand performance before the reception was kicked off. The two new couples then went on their honeymoons.
New Beginnings Part 2 - The Discovery"Thank you girls so much for wanting to help." Starlight said to the Cutie Mark Crusaders who were joined by Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon.
TO BE CONTINUED IN "SUDDENLY SISTERS 2: BIOLOGICAL CONNECTION"
Biological Connection Part 1 - Adopted ScootalooScootaloo's P.O.V.
SUDDENLY SISTERS: THE TRILOGY[/b] THE END
Biological Connection Part 6 - Sisters till the endScootaloo's P.O.V.
