Antithesis
Chapter 21
Previous Chapter“How's that look?!” A Pegasus called down, while another began checking off a list of tasks. Pegasi flew around arranging patterns and filling clouds while others sculpted the sky to make way for new weather.
The sounds of almost magical construction and winds flooded the facility as a shorter charcoal gray unicorn entered. “Excuse me, Is Mr. Remex here?” the stallion asked a random mare. Most ignored him while others shrugged and continued on with their work. He wandered around the facility until he reached an area with three offices.
One to the left and right where letters were being managed and a larger one in the center with a secretary stationed to the side. “A.R” on the window was a big enough clue. He began walking forward towards the door but was stopped short.
“Excuse me sir,” the secretary called out. “Mr. Remix is busy with an important visitor at the moment. Could you wait until your appointment time?”
“Well no. This is rather urgent”.
“I’m sure it is, sir but you’ll have to wait for your scheduled meeting. She pulled out a stack of papers asking for his name.
“I don’t have an appointment!” he shouted. Before the secretary could respond he handed the scroll from inside his sweater with a seal that was all too recognizable, a Sun with eight points protruding.
Taking her a few seconds to realize, her ears going back she apologized. “I’ll take this to him right away.
A green mare exited the office with a look of anger on her face. She grumbled passed the unicorn. After a few minutes Argo emerged booking for the pony his secretary described. “Come in,” he looked towards the others who were waiting for their appointment. “My apologies everypony, but something urgent has come up. You’ll have to meet with my secretary to reschedule.”
Everypony grumbled and complained but lined up at the desk. (The last ponies you wanna upset are the ones who control the weather.)
“Please come in, come in” Argo gestured to the stallion. Going inside Argo offered “Coffee, tea, energy drinks?”
“That'll be fine, I am just a messenger” he gestured to the letter. Argo took the leather opening and read it as the messenger spoke. “As you see the Princess has decided to reschedule her summer sun celebration this year in Creston.”
“What!?” Argo stood leaning over the desk. “Do you know what we did to make that week fit into the schedule!”
My apologies but something has come up and The Princess has asked for your understanding.” The stallion stood “The Princess will notify you of a later rescheduling for the event. Good day sir”
“Uh, I.. alright” Argo stammered as the messenger left the office. Stretching over his desk to make sure the stallion had left, “FUUUUUCK!”
"You know I'm getting tired of you kicking my ass, '' Antithesis said, while trying to escape the pinned position Tiv placed him in.
"Just get good" She giggled in response. Letting him go she took a peak at the clock on the wall. "Oh shit I'm gonna be late!"
Shaking off his recent defeat he asked "For what?"
Galloping out of the gym not even turning her head, "Interview". Tiv was gone before he knew it, leaving him alone to clean up the mats.
After cleaning up, Antithesis grabbed his stuff and headed out. Stepping outside he was greeted by the warm glow of a sun on its way to set. He exhaled, noticing the faint trace of his breath, Pegasi moved a few winds in to prepare for the coming winter around this time of the year.
"God" he sighed "It's about time". Walking back home he enjoyed the subtle cool breeze rolling over his sweaty fur. As he passed the D&C shop on to 40Th St. he caught a whiff of a peculiar smell as he continued on the block passing an alley. Double taking, he looked in, seeing three griffins.
The smaller griffins had a stick in his claw and with something skewered onto it. Noticing Antithesis, the griffin Asked "What? Never seen a griffin before?". The other two gave a faint chuckle at it.
"Only once" Antithesis answered, curious about the skewer.
They stopped their banter approaching him slowly, "It was a joke bub", noticing Antithesis' eyes still on the stick he held it up closer to him. "What's wrong pal? Want some?"
Taking a step back, (even though he is clearly taller than them) he asked "What is it?".
"This, it's me-"
"Hold up Fedra," one of the others interrupted with a laugh, "My friend it tofu, a food from griffin stone"
"Uhhh yeah, here give it a try" the first griffin said, handing it to him, as the third griffin covered his smile.
Taking it, Antithesis couldn't place quite where he had smelled it before. Shrugging his shoulders he took a bit from it, causing the griffins to burst into laughter.
"Oh my god he fucking did it, he- he bit it" the second griffon giggled nearly dropping to the ground.
Antithesis didn't notice it as he was engulfed into the flavor of whatever it was they had given to him. Swallowing he snapped back to reality. "Hey this is pretty good guys" Antithesis said, catching them by surprise.
The shorter griffon stopped wiping his eyes, "What did you say?" looking at the colt taking a second bite. "Yo, what the hell," he said, catching the other two's attention.
"This one ain't normal Fedra, I told you we should come out here" the third griffon said taking flight, the second soon followed.
"Hey! Wait for me" the smaller one said, readying his wings.
"Hold up," Antithesis called out "what did you say it was again?". No answer came as the trio flew away, leaving him with the skewer in hand. Confused, he slowly reached his head down to take the last bite.
