Starlight knew she could never be as amazing as Twilight Sparkle, Starlight idolized that pony as a mentor and a very good friend, but Starlight had much deeper feelings for Twilight than she would admit to anypony, even to Trixie, whom she had been dating for some time now. Starlight asserted "I’m not on them, I just got some once, you know, just in case. I had them for my first time last night. If one desires it strongly enough, then with the help of one powerful in dream magic, such as myself, they can craft themselves an experience where the spiritual and the material are one. A place where anything they feel and do can really happen, without the consequences of the real world. This may also be shared with anypony else who desires the same thing, equally as strong.” Starlight’s head spun at the explanation. “So you’re saying this really did happen then?” She tried to wrap her head around all of it “That I didn’t just dream all this wonderful stuff, but I really did connect with Twilight? And she connected with me too?” Luna just smiled, her eyes twinkling “And Twilight and I connected because we shared the same desire?” “Precisely” Luna said with a single nod Starlight was utterly bewildered. “So in one simple explanation, I dreamed I entered some spiritual plane of existence on my own, and Twilight shared it with me on her own, because…” She broke off before she could say it “…because she desires the same thing I do” “It was more than just a dream Starlight Glimmer. Much more.” Luna said radiantly “Holy shit!” Starlight exclaimed. It all made sense now, the experience had been as real as if she had done it while she was awake. All her deepest desires for the one pony she loved above all else, finally free and out in the open. And to make it all even more amazing, Twilight’s feelings were mutual. Starlight was lost for words. She then remembered her dream from two nights ago, with Twilight in the café. “But what about my dream two nights ago?” Starlight asked “The one of me and Twilight in BonBon café? That one felt almost just as real as this one” Luna tilted her head curiously “What other dream?” she asked. Starlight told her about the meeting in the café, the food and drinks she ordered, and the amazing kiss they shared, before the dream abruptly ended. She told Luna how real it had felt, and how she never experienced anything like this before. Luna was silent for a while, she appeared to be deep in thought. “Interesting” She finally said “It would appear that you and Twilight Sparkle have attempted a similar connection as the one you just shared, and it very nearly worked.” Luna looked impressed “You two nearly entered your own plane of existence together without the help of a curator such as myself, a truly amazing feat indeed!” “But why?” Starlight asked “You and Twilight Sparkle clearly share a very strong desire for one another, and both of you being very powerful and talented with magic, it appears a connection was attempted, though it could not fully form. A curator experienced with dream magic is usually a necessity to even begin such a thing, let alone hold it long enough for the connection to grow and mature. The fact that you two got that far is nothing short of a miracle!” Luna beamed as she explained Starlight was silent for a while, she was still processing all of this. “Damn” she said “It was real all the time. Not just this great time, but the feelings. And they were mutual!” Starlight looked up at Luna “This isn’t some kind of sick prank here in the dream world, right?” Luna laughed “Heavens no” She said. “I take the magic of dreams most seriously; I would never dare to even think about pulling something like that. Ponies around the land depend on me for such guidance” Luna was getting serious now “You have successfully connected both physically and spiritually with your significant other, Starlight Glimmer. Now do you see what I meant the other night when I said that it was your destiny?” Starlight thought back to the previous encounter with Princess Luna, how confused she was when she left, and how that confusion continued with her into her that day, but now the confusion was all gone. it was replaced by clarity. “I do” Starlight replied happily. She felt as if it had all come full circle, her entire lust for Twilight was not a fluke or a figment of her imagination. It was something very real. “And Twilight felt the same all along.” Luna nodded again and smiled “Now, Starlight Glimmer, it is time for us to part ways.” Luna said, her mane shimmering bright. “Wait” She said “What happens now?” “Hmm?” Luna was curious “Between me and Twilight… and Trixie.” Starlight said, she felt her guilt return as she thought of Trixie. “It would be wise for you and Twilight Sparkle to meet up in the waking world and discuss your true feelings for one another. I suspect there is much to talk about.” Luna said with a wink “Are you sure?” Starlight asked, as if still doubting all of what had just happened. “Dear Starlight Glimmer, the connection you have shared with Twilight Sparkle is a bond that cannot be broken. Only those ponies who are most truly in love share something that even remotely resembles what you two clearly enjoyed. The actions you performed on one another, the feelings shared, the senses that were stimulated, even the very surroundings you were in, each of these and more were contributed by the both of you and your fierce attraction to one another. And if none of this is convincing enough, I suggest you look around when you awaken. A sign of your connection can usually be found in the waking world soon after departing the subconscious.” Starlight thought about this, she remembered what Twilight said when they first met earlier. “It’s my old bedroom in the Golden Oak Library from when I first came to Ponyville. It’s my most favourite place in the world, I can still come here sometimes in my dreams…” Twilight’s sweet voice rang in her ears. “The place we were, it looked like Twilight’s old bedroom, she said it’s her most favourite place, and she said she sees it in her dreams” Starlight told Luna “Ah yes, it must be quite special to her if that was the location. As I said, both ponies contribute to the experience, and they only contribute the most meaningful of things to heighten the experience.” Luna said warmly. “But… what about Trixie?” Starlight asked finally “What do I tell her?” “That I cannot say” Luna replied “I cannot tell you what you should or should not say to her. Telling Trixie Lulamoon of your feelings and spiritual connection is a responsibility that rests entirely upon you and you only. That being said, if she truly loves you, she should at the very least understand what this connection means. However, I must again remind you of the importance of truth and honesty in a relationship. What transpired here tonight is not something to be secretive about. I apologize for not being able to say more, Starlight Glimmer.” Starlight expected something like this. “It’s alright” She said to Luna, though Starlight knew this was not going to be easy, to share with Trixie what had happened tonight. Even though it was the highest level of magic, Trixie would not believe it. That was just the way she was. “I long to continue conversation Starlight Glimmer, but it is really time for us to part now” Luna said calmly but firmly “I wish you all the best moving forward in your life, Starlight Glimmer” Luna bowed to Starlight and turned to trot away as the world around them slowly began to fade. “Wait!” Starlight called “One more thing” “Yes?” Luna turned “Thank you!” Starlight said affectionately “For everything!” She smiled at Luna and her eyes watered. Luna smiled back at her “It was my pleasure” Luna said with another nod “I am honoured to have been of assistance to you, Starlight Glimmer. I look forward to our paths crossing again in the future. Farewell!” And with that, Luna faded away, and Starlight felt herself slowly return to her conscious self. Starlight opened her eyes, the first few rays of sunlight shone brilliantly into the bedroom through the half closed curtains. A wonderful Monday morning was beginning. Trixie was still asleep soundly next to Starlight. As Starlight rolled onto her side to get out of bed, she felt a huge, soaking wet spot in her bed between her legs. Starlight knew all too well how volatile Trixie was, but surely even she had to understand what a spiritual connection meant. At the same time, Starlight could not help but feel guilty that her connection had not been with Trixie, because she knew how much Trixie loved her. Starlight was going to fix both her and Trixie a nice breakfast before they needed to leave for the School of Friendship. As Starlight made to get out of bed, she noticed a small midnight blue box by her bedside. It was adorned with Princess Luna’s cutie mark. Luna’s voice echoed in Starlight’s mind “And if none of this is convincing enough, I suggest you look around when you awaken. A sign of your connection can usually be found in the waking world soon after departing the subconscious.” Starlight used her magic to pick up and open the small box. There was a note inside. “Fairest Starlight Glimmer; I am honoured to have curated your connection with Twilight Sparkle. As I mentioned before, a sign of your connection can almost always be found after waking from your fateful experience. This is usually in the form of an item of significance from the encounter. The item is yours as a reminder to the both of you of the importance of this life changing event, and the unbreakable bond that has been formed between the two of you. I look forward to seeing you again.” – The Princess of the Night Starlight put down the note, and removed the wrapped contents of the box, carefully unwrapping it with her magic. Her heart skipped a beat and she clapped a hoof over her mouth when she saw what it was. It was the collar Twilight wore. Starlight couldn’t believe her eyes, this item had only existed in her imagination, until now. She turned it over in her hooves. The black leather was thick but soft, the inside was padded with a soft cushion, so as not to irritate the wearer. On the front of the collar was a gold fixing, where the gold O ring was attached, and to that, the golden shape of Starlight’s cutie mark, encrusted with diamonds around the edge. Even the metal buckle of the collar was gold, and Starlight knew it was all real gold. A small heart-shaped lock and key were also included, also made of gold. The collar smelled wonderfully of leather. It was the finest, most high quality accessory Starlight had ever held. Starlight gently placed it back into its box along with Luna’s note, she could not wait to give it to Twilight, and she had a strong feeling that she could expect a visit from Twilight that very day at some point. The very thought excited her. Starlight turned back to Trixie. She wished for an item as beautiful as this collar that symbolized her connection with Trixie. She was honestly grateful for everything she and Trixie had been through together, and it did hurt her that Trixie was not the one for Starlight. Starlight had to find the right moment to confess herself to Trixie, Starlight owed it and much more to her. Starlight packed the box into her saddle bag as she made for the kitchen to fix breakfast. Trixie came out shortly, and the two had breakfast and hot coffee. Starlight felt giddy from her night, she felt extremely well rested and ready for the day, she tried to pass some on to Trixie, but she wasn’t having any of it. “I bucking hate Mondays” She groaned “Cheer up Trix” Starlight chimed “Maybe your students will tell you some fascinating stories today” “Look who’s in a good mood” Trixie groaned “I knew that wet spot in the bed was from a particularly good dream” Starlight blushed. Every reminder of her night was pleasant. After breakfast they got ready to leave together. All that was on Starlight’s mind was her excitement of meeting Twilight. She knew Twilight would come to her at some point that day. Her excitement would carry through her day, she knew it. They had a quiet walk to the School, Trixie was unusually silent, only saying a few grumpy remarks about how she hated Mondays or how she didn’t look forward to seeing some of the students on her list that day. When Starlight entered her Head Mare’s office, there was a note on her desk in a brilliant purple envelope. Starlight opened it with her magic and read: “Starlight; I will see you at eleven. Love: Twilight Sparkle” there was a heart drawn next to her name. Starlight melted as she read. “Only a few hours!” She said to herself. After some long paperwork, and a few letters to the ministry, and a few worrisome uninvited visits from Trixie, Starlight got what she had been waiting for. Twilight Sparkle appeared in front of her with her magical teleport. She looked especially beautiful, as if her mane and eyes shimmered. “Hello Starlight” She said warmly. “Hi Twilight” Starlight smiled back. “So” Twilight began “wild night last night, huh?” She batter her eyelashes at Starlight. “It was unbelievable” Starlight replied “And to think that all this time you really shared my feelings. You really are something special, Twilight. Special and so beautiful” The two leaned in for a deep kiss. Starlight’s sex began throbbing again, finally she experienced this in the real world. They pulled apart and Starlight used her magic to retrieve her box from her saddle bag. “Prepare to be blown away” She said as she unboxed the collar. You can’t walk around in public with that on.” “Why not?” Twilight said smiling “I have to display my loyalty to my mistress. A good pet must always show who her heart belongs to” Twilight seemed to shimmer as she said it, it made Starlight melt. “Besides” Twilight continued “Who’s going to ask? I’m a princess! What I do is my own royally private business!” Twilight said with a mischievous smile, Twilight really did love her. This could not have proved that to Starlight any better. “Well then” Starlight said “Allow me to help you, my loyal pet” And Starlight used her magic to gently fit the collar snugly around Twilight’s beautiful neck. She fastened it gently, loose enough to not cause any discomfort, but tight enough so she would not forget it was there. Twilight moved her head around, showing off every last bit of it to her mistress, then, to finish, Starlight used the small heart shaped lock to secure it in place behind Twilight’s head. Twilight and Starlight both looked longingly at the medallion of Starlight’s cutie mark hanging at the middle of Twilight’s neck, the medallion seemed to shimmer with their love. “So, who should get the key?” Starlight asked longingly “Hang on” twilight said, she closed her eyes and her horn lit up with magic. “There” She said smiling “I placed an enchantment on the collar. It is magically protected from wear or damage. The magic is fuelled by our bond, so it will never wear off. A little trick Luna taught me.” Starlight beamed at her beautiful companion. “You thinking what I’m thinking?” She asked holding up the key with her magic. Twilight looked at it, then back to Starlight. “Definitely” She said, and the two made their way to the window of the office. Just outside was the little creek that flowed around the school towards Ponyville. “Together” Starlight said, and the two used both their magic to hold the key, and tossed it out into the creek. It landed with a small plop into the water. “To our bond” Starlight said, looking deeply into Twilight’s eyes. Twilight touched her collar with her hoof. “It’s beautiful Starlight.” “You look beautiful” Starlight replied, and the two locked into a deep kiss. Starlight was exhausted, she organized the finished exams and packaged them neatly into envelopes to be sent to the ministry next week. When she finished she slumped down into her chair and heaved a long sigh. “Finally” she said to herself “That’s the last of them” she used her magic to take a sip from her mug, draining the last half a sip of cold coffee which had been sitting there all day, slowly being sipped away whenever Starlight could spare a second from her duties. “How did Twilight handle this so well?” she thought to herself. Starlight found her thoughts frequently migrating towards Twilight Sparkle. She was just so good at everything, and Starlight loved that about her. She loved to see Twilight confidently attempt anything, somehow knowing that everything would be just fine in the end. Starlight tried to do what Twilight did, but it never quite worked out like that. Starlight knew she could never be as amazing as Twilight Sparkle, Starlight idolized that pony as a mentor and a very good friend, but Starlight had much deeper feelings for Twilight than she would admit to anypony, even to Trixie, whom she had been dating for some time now. Twilight would enter her thoughts whenever she got stressed, sad or frustrated, it would be an outlet for her throughout her days, and even some nights. Starlight felt her stress of the day leave as Twilight entered her thoughts again; she felt calmer, and clearer, almost as if the already silent office got even quieter, all Starlight could hear was Twilight’s voice singing to her. She was singing a beautiful melody of hums. Starlight closed her eyes and got lost in the melody, it made her heart beat faster. Her thoughts were shattered in an instant though when there was a loud knock at her door. Before Starlight could even gather herself, let alone ask who it was or even say “Come in” Trixie burst in smiling widely. “Hey Starly!” She seemed to sing as she walked in “Ready to get going? I’m soooooo ready to get out of this place and not even think of those kids and their problems for a few days.” She said as she strode in. Starlight quickly adjusted herself and used her magic to retrieve her saddle bag. “uh ya o-of course!” She said quickly to Trixie, as her reality quickly returned “You ok hun?” Trixie asked smiling and raising an eyebrow at Starlight “You work way too hard, Starly, it’s not good for you, ya know?” Starlight blushed a little “Ya, I know, it’s just there so much stuff Twilight left me responsible for” Trixie rolled her eyes “Ugh. That mare is such a do-gooder, she is all work and ZERO fun.” She said in an annoyed voice. Starlight could not help but feel taken aback by Trixie’s remark, but Starlight knew she wasn’t the biggest fan of Twilight in the first place. “She just thinks she’s so much better than anypony else with her magic and her friends. As if they are invincible together. It makes me sick! We get it, you’re the best, now shut the buck up!” Trixie frequently got herself hung up about ponies, especially Twilight, but Starlight knew this was usually aggravated by her end of week fatigue. “Come on Trix, lets go home” Starlight said trying to sound calming and affectionate. Though, she was still annoyed by Trixie’s remarks. She tried to just forget about them. As the two walked home from the School to their cottage at the edge of Ponyville, Trixie continued on about her day. “So get this, Ocellus likes Sandbar now, but she’s too chicken to ask him out, she’s scared of Yona or something, I don’t know. It was a very uneventful story, Ocellus is so shy it kills me!” Trixie went on. “Trix! You’re not supposed to tell me this stuff! That’s student confidentiality breach right there, completely violating a student’s trust.” Starlight scolded “Oh hush now Starly, its boring shit and you know I don’t have the patience for that” Trixie rebutted Starlight hated Trixie's bad habit of disclosing students’ private troubles. But there was not much she could do, Trixie was a pony that few could contain. And this was something that applied to every aspect of Trixie’s personality. Trixie was a free spirit, she did what she wanted whenever she wanted. Starlight sometimes found it hard to live with Trixie. She lived quite messy and hated cleaning up, a task that nearly always fell on Starlight, from cleaning to laundry; but Trixie was a very good cook who made many fancy dishes, much to Starlight’s enjoyment. Trixie was also very romantic; the couple enjoyed wonderful quality time cuddling and reading or watching movies together. Starlight sometimes came here in her dreams, it was here where she would meet Twilight for coffee and biscuits, and just enjoy one another’s company, one of Starlight’s more mild fantasies. Starlight sat down in her favourite booth, and ordered her and her friend’s favourite from the waitress mare: 2 cappuccinos and a sample platter of Belgian biscuits. Twilight arrived soon after. “Hey Starlight!” She greeted cheerfully. Starlight’s heart skipped a beat as she saw her. “Hey!” She replied trying not to blush. Twilight sat down beside her as the waitress brought them their refreshments. “Oh Starlight, my favourite! You always remember to order the best here.” Twilight said affectionately “I order the best, for you deserve the best” Starlight replied, batting her eyelashes “Mmmm, the biscuits are so fresh, and how do you know how to make my coffee even better than I know how to make it?” Twilight asked affectionately “I just know my best friend better than she knows herself” Starlight replied lovingly. The two leaned in close to each other, Twilight closed her eyes, and so did Starlight. Their lips met in an electric touch, and they kissed deeply. Starlight used her magic to pull out a small bottle of pills. “PegaSleep” The bottle read “Pony sleep aid tablets. Quick, and dreamless” “That’s what I need” Starlight said to herself. She had purchased these over the counter sleeping aids not long ago, but was too afraid to try them, but now, after her most realistic dream yet, she needed relief and was willing to try anything. She took out two tablets with her magic and swallowed them with some water. Starlight put the bottle back in the drawer and left to go back to bed. She got cozy on her side facing Trixie, she could already feel the pills taking effect. As she drifted off, she tried to focus only on how beautiful Trixie looked as she slept.
Chapter 2: Confessions of the NightStarlight was awakened by a shake in the bed. She opened her eyes and saw Trixie jumping on the bed next to her. “Wha?” she managed “Oh look who’s alive!” Trixie said still jumping “Cut it out!” She mumbled pulling her blanket over her head, but she felt her blanket removed completely from her body. “What the hay?” She said still partly asleep, she saw Trixie had stopped jumping and was now holding the blanket over her with her magic. “Do you know what time it is?” Trixie asked in an unusually demanding voice. Starlight looked at the clock on her side table and was instantly wide awake. “2:00 in the afternoon?” She said bewildered “Yeah!” Trixie said dropping the blanket back onto Starlight. “What they hay Starly? What’s the matter with you?” Starlight remembered immediately why Trixie was annoyed. It was their twenty-two month anniversary of being together in a relationship, and every month, Starlight ordered a special breakfast from their favorite restaurant and Trixie put on a delightful mini magic show after breakfast. It was a small celebration, but each month they did it. “Oh Trix, I… I’m so sorry” Starlight said, still bewildered, as she got out of bed. “Oh its fine, everything is fine!” Trixie said, but she didn’t seem fine. She was clearly annoyed and disappointed. She paced around the bedroom for a while, then looked at Starlight, she didn’t look angry, but she did clearly want an explanation. “I… I don’t know what happened” Starlight stammered. “You never sleep late, you’re up before me usually” Trixie said, she now sounded concerned “Are you feeling ok? You’re not sick are you?” “No, I’m fine, I just couldn’t sleep so at like 3 AM I popped some sleeping pills to help. I guess they helped a little too well” Starlight regretted what she said when she saw Trixie’s eyes go wide at the mention of sleeping pills. “You’re on sleeping pills?” she gasped “When were you going to tell me this?” Starlight didn’t know what to say, she couldn’t tell Trixie about the dreams “Are you on fucking Percocet too?” Trixie demanded “No!" Starlight asserted "I’m not on them, I just got some once, you know, just in case. I had them for my first time last night. I just couldn’t sleep but I was tired.” Trixie pressed on “Why couldn’t you sleep? You sleep like you’re dead like every other night” Starlight could not tell Trixie why she really took the sleep aid, but she knew Trixie would not let up until Starlight gave her a satisfying answer. There was just no getting around Trixie, especially when she was in a mood such as now. “I just… I don’t know I guess I was restless from the busy week I had. No matter how tired I was I just couldn’t fall asleep” Starlight lied. She had no idea what Trixie would do if Starlight told her the true nature of the dreams, how she really felt about Twilight. She knew neither of them would be able to handle the repercussions. “I’m sorry Trix, it won’t happen again” Starlight said Trixie looked at Starlight for a long while, and then quickly squeezed her in a tight hug. “I thought something was wrong with you!” She said “Don’t scare me like that again!” Trixie let go of Starlight “And that damned Twilight better chill out with her workload for you!” She said getting annoyed again. Starlight tried not to let it get to her. “Come on Trix, I can order us a yummy lunch, happy 22 months hun!” She said with a weak smile. “Humph, took you long enough to say it!” Trixie snorted through a smile. Trixie was still in her mood when their lunch arrived, but now she was just annoyed at Twilight for making Starlight work so hard. Starlight felt horrible lying to her partner, and even worse that Twilight was taking Trixie’s blame for it. None of this was her fault, it was Starlight who wasn’t content with her wonderful relationship. Starlight should have told Trixie the truth; but the truth would ruin what they had. There was no telling what Trixie would do if Starlight’s secret desire ever got out. Trixie could become unpredictable when things don’t go her way. Not to mention Trixie devoted to Starlight, Starlight knew she was the center of Trixie’s universe; her very grounding to this earth. And Starlight loved Trixie too, she meant every word of affection she ever told that pony. Starlight was confused, and last night’s dream only made that confusion much worse. “Damn Starly, we might have to change the tradition to lunches on our anniversary, that was good!” Trixie said finishing her meal. Starlight faked her way through the meal; she didn’t really taste much, she was far too disturbed. “Ya, its good!” She said trying to sound enthusiastic. “So, will you dazzle me with a little magic show?” she asked, Trixie’s magic shows always made Starlight smile. “The Great and Powerful Trixie shall blow ye away with her amazing magical prowess!” Trixie shouted enthusiastically, and she got to work setting up. Trixie put on her usual routine that never failed to amaze Starlight, Trixie had a special routine just for her. After a few card tricks and disappearing acts, and even a few jokes, the two were sitting, laughing in each other’s embrace, Starlight forgot about her issue for a little while. “I’m sorry for snapping at you this morning Starly” Trixie said “I’m sorry for the whole thing even happening” Starlight replied, she tried to tamp down her confusion rapidly returning. She knew that she needed to tell Trixie the truth, she knew that it would come out no matter what sooner or later. It would be for her own well being; this uncertainty tore Starlight up inside. Trixie and Starlight passed the rest of the day running errands together. It greatly helped Starlight that Trixie was so talkative all the time, she usually filled up the silence with her endless talking about whatever was on her mind. But eventually, it was evening, and after a nice dinner, movie and some more amazing sex in the shower, it was time for bed. Starlight had dreaded sleep since her previous night, she knew she was in for another encounter with Twilight, and she knew this time it would be even more realistic. In all of Starlight’s waking fantasies, she was in control of majority of her thoughts, and more often than not they would be interrupted before they ran away with her. But her sleep was very different, dreams were much more realistic. Starlight’s dreams were usually wild and vivid, but they never felt as if they were happening in reality, until last night. The incredible realism of that encounter resonated with Starlight’s core, and she knew it would only get more interesting from here. She was afraid of how much it would amplify her waking thoughts and feelings. “I nearly came in my sleep for Celestia’s sake! I felt her touch, taste and smell, I never felt those from a dream before” she thought to herself. She needed to do something soon. But where would she even start? How could she tell Trixie that she had feelings for Twilight that even she couldn’t wrap her head around? “Coming to bed Starly?” Trixie said in her usual singsong voice at this time of day. Starlight came out of the bathroom and found Trixie unusually covered up for this time of night. “I’m tuckered out love, mind if we just sleep?” She cooed in a soft voice “That’s alright” Starlight replied, she kissed Trixie once again and flicked off the light “Good night Starly, sweet dreams babe” Trixie said softly “You too Trix, goodnight” Starlight replied, but she was uneasy. Interestingly, she felt somewhat different as she drifted off to sleep, as if she somehow suddenly knew tonight would be different as she slowly entered her subconscious. Starlight found herself in a large, open and dark space. All she could see in any direction was an endless floor; there was not a wall or a single object in sight. “Hello?” she called, her voice seemed to echo into the void. “Hello Starlight Glimmer” a soft but commanding voice answered behind her. Starlight spun around and saw Princess Luna facing her. “Princess Luna!” Starlight nearly jumped at her sight. “Wh-what are you doing here?” She stammered “And… where are we?” “Do not worry Starlight Glimmer, we are in the Realm of Dreams” Luna replied softly “and I am here for you” “For me?” Starlight asked, perplexed “I don’t understand” “I sense distress in your subconscious, Starlight Glimmer, and I have come to aid you in whatever is troubling you.” Luna replied dutifully “But, didn’t you and Celestia retire?” Starlight asked uneasily, she regretted the silly question immediately. “My sister and I no longer rule the land of Equestria, but it is still my duty to watch over the night, and protect the dreams of sleeping ponies throughout the land” Luna’s mane shimmered as she explained “I sense a great deal of distress within you and your subconscious mind, tell me Starlight Glimmer, what is it that troubles you?” Starlight knew why she was here with Luna; it was time to confront her feelings. “Well…” She began “I… I have this problem… it’s not easy for me to say…” her voice broke off “Is it regarding your heart’s desire for Twilight Sparkle?” Luna asked comfortingly Starlight winced as Luna read her thoughts “How’d you know?” She almost felt stupid for asking. “I have been checking in on your dreams for some time now. I have seen that you have a burning desire to be with Twilight Sparkle.” Luna said in her magical voice. “I’m sorry. It’s just…” Starlight began again. “There is no need to apologize Starlight Glimmer. It is perfectly normal to desire to be with a pony” Luna replied warmly “Yes but… I’m in love with Trixie already” Starlight felt laboured to speak. “Hmmm” Luna said “is she whom you are in love with?” “Of course” Starlight replied quickly “I love Trixie, we share an amazing relationship. We connect on so many levels. We… we complete each other” “And yet you are clearly missing a sizable piece of your happiness” Luna said “complete is not a word I would use to describe you Starlight Glimmer” Starlight didn’t know what to say, she just stared blankly at Luna. “Tell me about your feelings for Twilight Sparkle” Luna saw Starlight was uneasy “I assure you your secrets are most safe with me. I have over a thousand moons worth of secrets ponies have confided within me, and I have dutifully guarded each and every one” Luna’s eyes twinkled, Starlight knew she could trust her. She took a deep breath and began to explain. “Twilight Sparkle is an amazing mentor and amazing friend to me” Starlight began “Ever since she saved me from that evil within me and opened my eyes to the wonderful magic of friendship, I have idolized her. She is perhaps the single most important pony in my life. Without her, I don’t know where I would be today. I always sort of thought there was something greater than friendship between us, but she had her other friends, and the School of Friendship, and her duty to Equestria, she would become ruler one day and I just never thought I would have the chance to explore anything greater than friendship with her. Twilight gave my life a new meaning with a job at the School of Friendship, and of course, the introduction of many great new friends, especially Trixie, but none were to me like Twilight was” Starlight had no idea how to explain her true feelings for Twilight or how they evolved. “I sense you’re beating around the bush, like you want to say something but can’t quite bring yourself to say it.” Luna said comfortingly “I also sense what you are about to say could be the key to me assisting you, for what you hold on to is something very deep and important. Beware with holding on to overwhelmingly powerful feelings, for it is the beginning of forming a Tantabus” Starlight knew Luna was right, she was indeed overwhelmed by her conflicting feelings, and her sexual desire for Twilight Sparkle. She knew she had to tell somepony, and naturally Luna was the best. Starlight had unknowingly summoned Luna into her dreams for spiritual guidance, now was Starlight’s chance to break free from her mental prison, all she had to do was reveal the deepest and darkest secret she kept. She took another deep breath. “I love Twilight Sparkle. I want to be with her. But not in just any way, I want her as my own. I wish to keep her as a kind of companion, or pet if you will. I know how that sounds, but this is my deepest desire, it’s what keeps me awake some nights, it’s what occupies my mind when I’m awake, it’s what keeps me from properly enjoying Trixie. I want Twilight to be mine, to do with her anything I want, but at the same time let her do with me whatever she wants. I want to show the world just how much I love her; I have never loved anypony more. I don’t just want her, I want her and I to share a spirit, I want to be one with Twilight Sparkle.” Starlight felt dizzy, not only had she just confessed her feelings to another pony, she just vocalized her heart’s deepest desire for the very first time. But she immediately felt lighter, as if some weight had been lifted from her shoulders. Luna smiled at Starlight “I see” She said warmly “You have confided within me a great and very personal secret and I commend you for your bravery in being open with me” Luna bowed slightly at Starlight. “These feelings for Twilight Sparkle, for how long have you had them?” Starlight thought for a second. She really remembered the vivid thoughts since she began seeing Trixie as a lover not just a friend, but she knew this went back longer in reality. “I suppose I have always felt this way” Starlight began “I think this is what I meant when I said I thought she was always more than my friend, but it took me some time to truly realize. The real explicit sexual desires showed up when Trixie and I began our relationship as lovers, but if I really look deep, this has always been there.” “Yes” Luna said “Desires such as these are usually in development for far longer than we initially believe. It is also common to have intimate feelings for one truly come out when in a serious relationship with another.” It felt amazing to finally disclose the very thoughts that have plagued Starlight for months; to finally have explanations for things she had stressed so much wondering about. “I assume that Trixie Lulamoon or Twilight Sparkle know not anything of these desires?” Luna asked, slightly more serious now. “Oh Celestia no!” Starlight quickly said “They can’t know!” She said even quicker without thinking about it. “Why cannot they know?” Luna asked raising one eyebrow. Starlight thought about how hurt and offended Trixie would be that Starlight kept a secret like this from her, or how she had completely betrayed her all this time. She also thought about Twilight, and how taken aback she would be at the confession of these desires. Surely she would not feel the same. “I guess…” Starlight began “You are afraid” Luna said calmly “You fear the reaction you would receive from these two very important ponies in your life. You are terrified of hurting them or turning either of them away.” Starlight felt tears in her eyes, all she could do was nod. “You mustn’t keep secrets such as these to yourself, Starlight Glimmer, sexual desire is a very powerful thing. Bad things can happen if you continue to hold these feelings in. Even worse if you hide such feelings from those who are close to you” “But how do I tell them, Princess Luna? How could I possibly have the courage to tell these feelings to Twilight and Trixie? What if they never speak to me again? I can’t be alone again!” Tears flooded Starlight’s eyes, she choked back sobs. “Dear Starlight Glimmer, please calm down.” Luna said affectionately “If what you have told me tonight is what your heart truly longs for, and I sense it is, you must take charge. You must be honest with those you love. Uncertainty will only hold you back, you must trust your heart, and believe that it will guide you, that it will help you find what you want most. If you truly love Twilight Sparkle as you say you do, trust that she will understand. And conversely, if you and Trixie share as strong a bond as you say, trust that she too will understand.” “But how can I know for sure?” Starlight begged “I was never big on the whole trust thing. It took me years to even trust myself. I… I’m just so afraid to screw up again” Starlight said still fighting her tears “Trust can be difficult” Luna said calmly “But trust can be greatly rewarded. It’s as simple as you won’t know until you try. But you must try Starlight Glimmer, because I believe in you. And I know your courage will be rewarded.” “I am grateful for Trixie” Starlight said “I do love her, she is such an amazing mare who is so loving and romantic, she cares so much, she just so damn gorgeous on every possible level. But I know that she is not my true desire. At the same time my true desire is in charge of all of Equestria, and I know she is far too busy to even entertain such a ludicrous idea like this, she’d flat out call me crazy. Not to mention how Trixie would completely lose her mind over this.” “Hmmm” Luna said again calmer than ever. “You think too negative Starlight Glimmer. You have not even tried to voice your feelings with those around you, how can you know for certain they will not share your sympathy?” Starlight felt a little better hearing this from Luna. “But Trixie would freak out, it would devastate her. And what about Twilight?” she said “Surely she would think I’m insane” “Maybe not” Luna said with a smile “The magic of spiritual and sexual desire goes far deeper than you may think, Starlight Glimmer” Luna’s eyes twinkled as she said it. “The truth is not an easy thing to tell, in fact, it is probably one of the most difficult things in life to speak. But the greatest reward comes to those who are honest, and despite the potential for consequence, the potential reward is far greater. Honesty is a powerful Element of Harmony, and like all the other Elements, when truly embraced, its power is limitless.” Starlight sighed, she knew what she had to do, and again she felt uneasy. She knew now more than ever that she had to confess to Trixie and Twilight how she felt, but she just had no confidence. “I sense your uneasiness, Starlight Glimmer” Luna said warmly “You know what must be done, but are unsure if you have the strength to do it. Let me help you. I will prove to you, Starlight Glimmer, that you do have the strength inside of you to follow your true desire, for I feel this is your destiny.” Starlight looked up at the radiant essence of the princess of the night, she felt almost entranced by her aura. “How?” she asked “Tomorrow night I will greet you in your dreams again, I will show you what I see inside of you, and what your significant other shares with you. But in the meantime, I ask that you reflect upon yourself. The power of the subconscious is remarkable” Luna said with a wink. Starlight didn’t completely understand what Luna was saying, but before she could clarify, the world around her began to spin and Luna faded from her sight. “I look forward to our encounter tomorrow night, Starlight Glimmer” Luna’s voice echoed from the mist that drifted from where she stood moments ago. Starlight felt her consciousness slowly returning.
Chapter 3: The Only Thing She Longs ForTrixie was still asleep when Starlight woke up. She felt well rested, her encounter with Luna in the Realm of Dreams still fresh in her mind. “What did she mean by what my significant other sees inside me?” she thought to herself “And reflecting on myself?” It was as if a spell had come over Starlight, she went through her day without feeling much, as if on some strange autopilot. She went about with Trixie finishing their last few weekend tasks, organized her things for the work day tomorrow and cleaned up the house, but she only pondered her encounter with Princess Luna last night, what she meant by reflecting on herself and how powerful the subconscious could be. What I do is my own royally private business!” Twilight said with a mischievous smile, Twilight really did love her. This could not have proved that to Starlight any better. “Well then” Starlight said “Allow me to help you, my loyal pet” And Starlight used her magic to gently fit the collar snugly around Twilight’s beautiful neck. She fastened it gently, loose enough to not cause any discomfort, but tight enough so she would not forget it was there. Twilight moved her head around, showing off every last bit of it to her mistress, then, to finish, Starlight used the small heart shaped lock to secure it in place behind Twilight’s head. Twilight and Starlight both looked longingly at the medallion of Starlight’s cutie mark hanging at the middle of Twilight’s neck, the medallion seemed to shimmer with their love. “So, who should get the key?” Starlight asked longingly “Hang on” twilight said, she closed her eyes and her horn lit up with magic. “There” She said smiling “I placed an enchantment on the collar. It is magically protected from wear or damage. The magic is fuelled by our bond, so it will never wear off. A little trick Luna taught me.” Starlight beamed at her beautiful companion. “You thinking what I’m thinking?” She asked holding up the key with her magic. Twilight looked at it, then back to Starlight. “Definitely” She said, and the two made their way to the window of the office. Just outside was the little creek that flowed around the school towards Ponyville. “Together” Starlight said, and the two used both their magic to hold the key, and tossed it out into the creek. It landed with a small plop into the water. “To our bond” Starlight said, looking deeply into Twilight’s eyes. Twilight touched her collar with her hoof. “It’s beautiful Starlight.” “You look beautiful” Starlight replied, and the two locked into a deep kiss. Electric ecstasy erupted between their lips, both their sexes erupted in desire. Simultaneously, their hooves made for the opposite’s mound, and the touch was sensual.
