A Time of Song and Sword

Equestria is a power in its infancy. Surrounded by hostile neighbours and riven with a fragmentary feudal structure, the land is held together by the Royal Pony Sisters, who ascended to the throne only four hundred and forty-three years ago. In these few short centuries of their reign, Princesses Celestia and Luna of the Royal Diarchy of Equestria have accomplished much, gathering many pony tribes under their banner and civilising them. All is not well at this point in the sisters' joint reign however, and with rumblings from the nobility and aggressive and crafty nations around them, Equestria is about to enter a time of song and sword. An age of heroes.

I've been working on a big project since June. However, I wanted to release these shorts to give people a feel for the setting and some of the characters involved in this project. Each of these is a one-shot, but they are all part of the bigger picture. They all take place just previous to the events of the upcoming story itself. This is set in the Equestria we know, only centuries before our favourite pastel-coloured ponies were born.

I will be posting the first few chapters of the main piece soon. I feel like unless I start actually releasing the story, I will never be prompted to actually finish writing. But I don't have time within the story (without seriously disturbing the flow and adding more POV characters than should be kept track of) to give anyone a sense of what's fully going on without these one-shots. Therefore, I will likely be adding the chapters here so that one can understand more and piece together an idea of what's going on.

I'm not sure about a cover image. I have nothing on hand, nor do I have the artistic talents necessary to make one. Title is pending, and I may be re-working the description as well. Feedback is encouraged. Positive or negative. I want to improve, and you only improve through writing and feedback. Feedback on everything, folks. I want opinions and yours is important to me, so please rate and review!
