With Hearth's Warming around the corner, and the preparations of the Main 6 closing in, the human they've taken in has his own path to ford. One that'd be easier to do not for the blitzes of unstable magic he's brought with him making literal hay out of the environment around him. Thankfully, Spike's with him during their run of the otherwise empty Castle of Friendship, and seeing where the magic is stirring in the human during a hot lights spurs him on to make the most of of this mystical night.
