Prologue: Hidden heritage.
Ever since having enough of Princess Celestia's strict rules and secrets, Sunset Shimmer needed to escape from her and enters the mirror portal alone.
Safely making it on the other side, she wakes up to find herself in the human world.
Despite the difficulty of slowly adjusting her human form and getting to steal some money & clothes, she manage to get use to the human realm, even if she has to get dirty and got accepted in schools.
Over several years from entering this world, Sunset would sometimes have strange foggy dreams.
She tries to forget about it, but couldn't figure on who those people or things are, only to hear cries of despair, monster roars, and combat fight sounds. Waking up from hearing those screams and roars, she had to take some pills in order to get better.
Then one year at the Fall Former, Sunset's defiance of power soon collapses down when she stole Princess Twilight Sparkle's magic crown from the portal and uses it to take over everything.
However, this proves to be a big mistake. After transforming to her demon form, she has screamed in despair and agony to make this sudden pain in her head stop as her magic is out of control.
Thinking something bad would happen to Sunset Shimmer, Princess Twilight uses her magic bond circle with Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity Belle, and Fluttershy to use there magic together by curing Sunset as she changes back.
In the aftermath Fall Formal battle, Twilight Sparkle requests that the five friends watch over Sunset and help her while she tries to find out the answers on what happen to Sunset and her past.
Hesitantly, the five girls agrees to her request as Twilight along with Spike, jumps into the portal.
Though despite not completely agreeing with her after what Sunset has already done, they won't break their promise to at least help Sunset since her state is really messed up and is taken in by Nurse Redheart.
Few days after recovering, Sunset's mental state isn't looking too good. Both Principal Celestia and her sister Vice Principal Luna, notice that she's been skipping classes, lunch, and work studies.
The five girls did try to help her out, but somehow they weren't getting through her.
Even worse, the ones she bullied in the past gotten back at her 10 times badly with receiving a lot of bruises.
Some tried to defend her, but were either thrown aside or given the same treatment.
Yet Sunset felt her body going to break soon and she hears the ringing as her body collapses outside.
The last thing she saw before blacking out is someone's magic knocking the abusers out and walk towards her.
In her dreams, Sunset's eyes opens her eyes as she finds herself near a spooky castle.
"W-Where am I? What is this place?" Sunset mumbles.
Her eyes glance to see someone at the entrance door, watching her.
"Ummm h-hello?"
Her reply went silent as the figure walks inside the castle.
"H-Hey wait a minute! Who are you?!"
Getting up from the ground, Sunset chases after the figure in the castle, unaware the entrance is shut behind her.
A minute later, she slows down and completely lost chase to find that person.
"Dammit, I lost sight of them. Well I better go look around this strange castle."
So Sunset proceeds to go looking around in different area rooms. In each one of them, she only finds some single beds and no picture photos or notes lying around the rooms.
Eventually, she gave up her search and plops down by a wall.
"Ugh, there's no sign of any clues. Plus it's too quiet, where is everyone?"
Grumbling to herself, hear ears then heard a whistling sound. She turns her head right to spotting the same figure, walking on another area and waving to her. Fuming a bit of anger, she gets up and chases after the figure.
"Your not getting away again this time."
When she got closer to catching them, she trips and sees that no one's here in this room. Before yelling out, she spots some kind of grey dusty container on the table with a strange insignia on top of it.
Curious on what's inside, Sunset walks over to the table and wipes the dust off the container.
"I wonder what's in this hunk of junk?"
Opening it up, her eyes slowly widen upon seeing the items. A whip, gear equipment, and a history book.
"Never seen a whip and this strange in here before."
When Sunset touches the book and whip, she felt an immense pain headache as she suddenly blacked out.
In a hospital at night, Sunset gasps in awake and her head sweat.
Slowly calming down, she notices that she's in a hospital, meaning someone has carried her here.
'Oh yeah, I remember feeling depressed after experience the magic of Twilight's crown. Then I skipped classes, ignored everyone around me, and gotten beat up pretty badly. Though I can't remember on who saved, even after all the crap I did as a bitch.' Her mind says.
"Miss Sunset Shimmer?"
Her thoughts were interrupted when she glances to see Redheart at the door, walking to her.
"Are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah, thanks for asking. How long was I out miss Redheart?"
"Sadly, you were in a coma for about a week. The last fight you had against those bullies, your body was in a weaken state. We had to transport you here and did some hard work to help keep you alive. The only thing we could do is praying that one day, you can wake up and a week later, here you are."
"I doubt anyone would come to visit."
"Oh don't be like that Sunset, some of the people at CHS did come to visit and gave you get well cards & baskets."
"Hmph, either way this doesn't make me feel any better."
"I'm sure you do just a little bit. By the way, earlier a visitor has left something for you."
"A visitor?"
"Yes and surprisingly, he's the one who broke up the fight and help carry you to the hospital."
Stunned and shocked at this news, Sunset didn't notice that Redheart left for a moment. She came back later and put the small box near Sunset's bedside part.
"He left a note inside and told me that only Sunset is allowed to open it. I believe it's very charming and warm hearted a young night in shinning armor came to save you, no matter if you did anything wrong or not. Though I'll leave you be and come back if you need anything else, good night Sunset."
After nurse Redheart left, Sunset is hesitant on what to do.
'There's so many questions on my mind right now, but I'll hold them back until then.'
Sunset grabs the small box, opening it up to reveal the same symbol container she saw in her dream.
"This symbol, what could it mean? Maybe something in my past in Equestria?"
Far off away from CHS, one of the bullies is thrown at the wall, earning a few cracked bones. The other bullies didn't fare well as there bodies are too weak to get up and also having a lot of bruises and broken bones.
"P-Please! H-H-Have mercy, I-I didn't mean to-"
His words were cut off when a young man grips the bully's throat.
"I don't accept those who thinks it's okay to take advantage of someone in a weaken state of mind."
The young man's voice grew cold as he conjures up a small flame.
"Tell you what, how about we play a game called pin the flame on a rotten tomato's ass cheeks?"
He didn't get a reply as the bully is having trouble of breathing and his throat is getting tighter.
"I'll take that as yes then."

The last day of 2020 is here and 2021 will be tomorrow my readers and followers. Prepare for the countdown folks as a new year is coming in. Also yes, I didn't forget about the story idea of Sunset being as a Belmont. Pretty sure some would say that it's not a good idea, well I say screw them.
