The story took place 20 years after season 9 finale, and on Earth, the time took place when President Obama is still here, ATTENTION!!! THIS IS AN ALTERNATIVE EARTH, WHERE MLP DOESN'T EXIST!!!
Intro: Dangers In the Horizon
It had been several months since the Equestrians and their allied countries had made their first contact with another intelligence species from another world; They're bipedal, omnivores, Homo sapiens, or as they called themselves, Humans. It all started with Princess Twilight Sparkle and Former Princess Celestia's new world discovering project, which is called Project Stargazer. After two years of preparations, the portal is set up, the scientific teams were gathered up, and both Princess and former Princess were ready fro their first contact; With the Humans.
The reason why Princess Twilight Sparkle chose the Humans as their first interactive targets is due to her early encounter with the humans from mirror world and from what Lyra Heartstrings mentioned; the humans have advanced technologies; which Equis is most needed. And this is the start of an advanced technological revolution. Princess Twilight, Princess Flurry Heart, Cadence, Luna, and Celestia has been observing the Human world for a while now, they picked the location at this place called Washington D.C in the country of United States of America. Having their first contact with their leader at their capital would be a good idea. The portal was ready, as the leaders and former leaders took their first steps into the world of mankind.
But they did forgot one thing; The White House is one of the most heavily guarded places in the United States, as the result, the Princesses were immediately surrounded by wide-eyed, shell-shocked agents and guards. Luckily, no fire were opened, President Obama was surprised that they have visitors form another world. At first he thought it was just some made-up stuff by some Extraterristial fans. But after witnessing the Princesses' magical abilities, Obama was left awed.
Soon, the United Nations heard of this encounter and was eager to meet those visitors from another world. After some interviews, Princess Twilight told the human leaders deals; They would not harm her subjects or any of the creatures from Equis, nor test them like rats, treat them like a human being, and have every rights of a human beings. After discussing among themselves, the human leaders agreed and also developed a treaty of sharing there technologies with the Equis, which the Princesses happily accepted. Earth needs some natural resources, after hearing three requests, Princess Twilight frowned and told them how they had being watching the humans ruining their environment, driving animals to extinctions, wars, terrorisms, and crimes. However, her niece Flurry Heart reminded Twilight all the good sides mankind had done, like wiping out a disease using advanced medical technologies, putting the first man on the Moon, and helping those in need.
Finally, after two weeks of discussions, the treaty was signed and in action, the aliens from Equis decided to revel themselves for the world to see. As the Princess of Equestria shook hands/hooves with the President of United States, the interspecies relationship between Equis and Earth was successfully established.
10 months after the treaty was signed, Equis was different then before, no more steam powered trains, replaced by electronic trains. No more golden armor for Royal Guards, no more spears, swords, crossbows, war chariot, and regular charts. Replaced by bullet proof vests, guns, tanks, aircrafts, and cars. No more small villages, Ponyville had evolved into a town, with modernized improvements, to the Apple family's amusement.
Many other places on Equis were filled with excitement and joys as the advanced technological revolution spread. The militaries, Hippogriffia/Seaequestrian Navy built their battleships, cruisers, destroyers, aircraft carriers, and other warships. Griffonia Empire built their own Air Force, introducing fighter jets, fighter bombers, heavy bombers, drones, and other military/civilian used aircrafts. While the Equestrians and the other ground based tribes advanced mostly on the ground.
Equis is at the dawn of technological evolution.
However, not everypony were happy about the interactions with the humans. A group of creatures and ponies hated mankind due to their violence nature and all those dark histories they'd heard from the reports, but the humans were the superior ones, they couldn't just go out and fight them. But then, after making contact with the terrorism forces on Earth secretly, those creatures and ponies formed another Equestrian Terrorism Force; "The Hydra". (No it's NOT a Cap America crossover)
The Hydra were mainly made up with both humans and Equestrian mercenaries, they either hated Equestria or have some bad histories with them before. None of these ruthless members would show any mercy, after several attacks, the Hydra grabbed the United Nation and United Kingdoms of Equis's attention, and was listed into the extermination list.
However, the Hydra's location switches all the time, the militaries are having trouble locating them, not to mention spies they'd send in were often discovered and killed brutally. The Navy SEAL and the Delta Forces were asked to train the Equestrians to form a special operation task force, but that's not enough though.
The United Nation discussed about their plan of creating a super weapon to force the Hydra down, however, the United Kingdoms of Equis were limited due to their lack of experiences. United Nations then formed a military scientific research group which the members volunteered as helpers. After three months of designing and planning, two worlds confirmed this new operation; Create an A.I fighter pony, with the body to switch between a fighter jet and a pony; flies at Hypersonic speed (Mach 5 or above), must be lighter than an aircraft, focus mainly on maneuverabilities and BVRAACA (Beyond Visual Range Air to Air Combat Abilities). This is the start of the legendary Project Icarus, or later known as the birth of Eddie Whirlwind.

The first thing I saw when my optic systems turned on is a bunch of stallions and weird looking bipedal creatures looking at me, form their eyes and expression, according to my emotional coding, I can tell they're nervous, excited, and joyful. Then a stallion with ties on and a bipedal being with glasses on walked in front of me. The stallion was lightish brown with dark brown mane and tail. The bipedal being stands about 5 foot tall, with a white lab robe on and very gentleman looking. The stallion spoke first.
"Eddie? Can you hear me?" Who is this Eddie?
"Who is Eddie?" I simply reply. Where am I? Who am I? What am I? So many questions I have no answers for.
"Why, that's your name, Eddie Whirlwind; you're the first Equestrian A.I Hypersonic Cyber Jet pony. You're currently at the Canterlot Secertive Military Research Laboratory. My name is Doctor Whooves, your creator, and the one next to me is a human; Doctor James Robinson, your designer." the stallion said, as the human doctor nods.
Loading Data... Human, or known as Homo sapiens, bipedal, intelligence living beings, omnivores, superior in technological advancement. I saved the new datas into my memory banks, "My name is Eddie?" I asked again for confirmation, which the man nodded.
"I'm the one who named you, you're named after Eddie, another A.I fighter jet, well, he's destroyed during a mission." Doctor James said, shivering at the memory of the mad A.I jet.
"What is my purpose?" I asked flatly.
Both doctors paused for a brief moment before replying, "You're a soldier."
Loading Data... Soldier, Soldier, military personnel who use a variety of firearms and explosives to combat hostile enemies.
"I was created for killing?" I asked.
"Well, in a way, yes. But your main purpose is to protect the innocents and protect those in need." Doctor Whooves said, I saved that sentence into my memory banks.
"Well... How do you feel?" Doctor Whooves asked, he sounds like he's expecting something.
"I feel nothing, Doctor." I reply blankly, "I am a machine, I don't have nerves to feel physical nor emotional touches."
"Oh... I see." Doctor Whooves said, disappointed.
"What's wrong Doctor?" I asked.
"Seems like there's some bugs I have made into you." James sighed.
"I have insects inside?" I asked, earning a chuckle from the man.
"No, no. That's just another term of saying that you have some coding issues, I'll have you fixed by tomorrow." James said, Doctor Whooves went back to his coding, probably trying to insert some emotional code and feeling codes into my core. James then walked to his friend. I heard them speaking.
"Princess Twilights wants Eddie to have almost the same anatomy as the ponies, feelings, and emotions." James said to Doctor Whooves, who sighed in return.
"That's a challenge," I heard him said as he took a quick glance at me, "making a man-made A.I to ave emotion and feelings like a living being is hard enough, but with the same anatomy?"
"Well, you did mentioned that you viewed Eddie as your son." James said, which grabbed my attention. Doctor Whooves viewed me as his son? But I'm a machine, how can I be his son?
"Yeah, so I have to do anything to make him better." Doctor Whooves said firmly, then he walked to me, preparing to turn me off for the night, "Goodnight Eddie."
"Goodnight Doctor Whooves." I replied before my optic sight turned off.

Date and Time - 03/11/1028 A.T - 11:30 A.M
As usual, I turned on my optic sight, but something immediately felt different, as if I can feel the coolness of the air around me, and I'm... breathing? I can hear my beating core in my chest? I blinked, I spotted Doctor Whooves and James looking tame with expectations.
"Eddie? How do you feel?" Doctor Whooves asked.
"I feel... Cold, coolness of the air." I said slowly, wait! Was that hesitation in my voice? Why does it sounds so much different than before? "Doctor? What happened to my voice? Why am I breathing? Why can I feel so much?" I asked, now sounding more like a living being than a machine.
"It worked!" Doctor Whooves cheered as he hoof/fist-bumped James, "Congratulations Eddie! I've inserted emotional code, anatomy code, and living code into you, now you can feel, talk, and laugh like a living being would!"
I don't know what to say, Doctor Whooves viewed me as his son, improved me, I noticed the bags under his eyes, so he worked on my codes all night? Why did he do that? Why am I having this weird feeling of... Happiness?
"Thank you Doctor," I said, surprising him, "For everything."
He smiled, "Anything for my son." He then embraced me, I was startled at first, but then I relaxed and returned the embrace. At that moment I realized something. I can move. Before this, I felt like I'm only a computer or just a screen, Doctor Whooves created my body for me? We broke the embrace as I chuckled my body, it was silver white, slender, I have long curvy ears that's actually sound wave sensor. My eyes can switch to thermal vision, UV, X-Ray, and laser. I have a pair of folded wings made of magnesium and my body is made of titanium, which made me almost unbreakable while still being light as an average pony. My muzzle has nano technologies to help me make expressions like a pony and a human. My memory is also updated with all terms of words to use. (Cuss words included. XD) My eyes, or my optic sensors were glowing color of bright lime.
In another term of description; I looked stunning and futuristic.
"Putting up your body is... let's say its like a 2 year-old tries to solve an adult level jigsaw puzzle." James said, "At first noon of us thought it'd be possible, but thanks to your 'father', we made impossible possible."
"is that my gears?" I asked as I spotted a table with many tools and weapons, including my jet engines. The Doctors nodded before leading me to the gears.
"Since you're about to be tested on your flight and defense abilities, it'd be a good idea to put them on, I think they suits you." Doctor Whooves said, "All you need to do is to think 'Gears Up' in your mind, they're connected to your core. As for the big ones such as the missiles and the cannon, they're stored up in the mini-pocket dimension we created for you."
I nodded before running through my systems and found 'Gears Up', I clicked that mentally and the gears scattered on the table immediately starts to fly towards me and assembled themselves on me. Soon, my jet engines, flaps, and weapons were completely covered.
"Go ahead and check your weapon systems, don't turn the jet engines on yet." James said.

After checking my systems, I turned to my creators, "Alrighty, all systems checked, ready to roll!" Suddenly, the door of the laboratory opened, revealing a large purple pony with a long horn around 3 feet on her forehead, a pair of massive wings folded on her sides. Her manes were mixed with bright, dark purple and bright violet, and they're waving as if there's wind blowing them. I figured that she must be the 'Princess' Doctor Whoove had been talking about due to her golden crown, horseshoes, and neckless; and the ponies in the room who bowed, the humans just politely saluted. According to the code he'd put in him, a bow is needed whenever a member of the royal family is here. I immediately bended my back and bowed, while saying, "Your majesty."
"Oh, what a polite A.I we got here." The princess smiled, "There's no need to bow."
"Your majesty, bowing to a royal is in my code, so are the formalities." I replied, while Doctor Whooves sheepishly scratched the back of his head.
"It's alright Doctor, you did your part," Princess Twilight said, as she circled around me, "I see that Eddie has being well designed and built. He even have the ability to breathe like an actual pony, nice work!"
"Thank you, your majesty." Doctor Whooves said.
"Now, head to the testing, shall we?" the Princess asked.
"Of course, your majesty," I said, "I'm ready to roll, let's get the show on the road!" Twilight chuckled.
"Oh I like him!"

Out in the fields across from Canterlot City, a huge crowd of humans, ponies, Griffons, Dragons, Hippogriffs, Changelings, Yaks, and other creatures from around and beyond Equestria gathered at the stage, where the newest and the first Equestrian A.I defender will be shown. The leaders from both Equis and Earth were also at the scene. This is a revolutionary moment in both Equis and Earth's history, for birth of the first, living, breathing A.I with emotions of a pony. Everyone/Pony/Creatures were chatting with each other, waiting for the show case to start.
When the time is right, Princess Twilight Sparkle stood up and went up the stage, "Everyone! Everypony! Everycreature, welcome to the Project Icarus show case." At her starting speech, everyone quieted down, even the Humans, as a sign of respect.
"It had been a while since we started Project Icarus, an operation of building a better and more safer world for the Humans and ourselves. Our scientists and the humans had put into great and hard works to complete our ultimate goal. A thanks from me for all of those who helped." Twilight said, getting a bit excited, "Now, I will officially introduce you... Our future defender, our hope, our light in the dark...The first Equestrian A.I Hypersonic Cyber Jet Pony... Eddie Whirlwind!"
At the mention of my name, I nodded to Doctor Whooves behind the stage and ignited my Variable Cycle Engines, I immediately dashed airborne into the sky above, did a few flips, and landed on the stage with an "Iron Man" landing, as James would say. I then switched to me bipedal mode and stood up, my height almost matching Princess Twilight's. The crowd gasped in awe and cheers. The Humans smiled and nodded in amusement.
"My name is Eddie Whirlwind, call me Eddie." I said, earning more shocked eyebrows from the crowd, "Thanks to Doctor Whooves and Doctor James, I'm able to breathe, talk, and have a body of an average pony. Though I'm an Artificial Intelligence, I'm more than a machine, I'm the defender, the guardian, and a son, as Doctor Whooves would say it." I said, "He viewed me not as a machine, but a family member, and I'd like to be treated that way from now on. As I'd be honored to protect both Earth and Equis from any harms."
The crowd cheered again, more louder than last time,
"To test my final result why don't I fly around Equestria with a volunteer on my back? I have magnetic sensors on my back, when the user wears the magnetic horseshoes on them and grabs onto me, they won't fall off. So... Any brave volunteers?" I suggested. The crowd murmured to each other, but no one came up. Then, some pony unexpected volunteered.
"I can give it a shot." Everyone turned and shocked to see it was Princess Twilight herself who spoke.'
"Your majesty! You can't be serious!" A Royal Guard stammered.
"If I can't trust the future guardian of Equis on a single simple fly-around-the world mission, why can Eddie trust us? Besides, I could test the safety and securety system while flying on Eddie. What do you say, Eddie?" she asked me.
"If the Princess say so, I'll gladly accept it," I nodded, "I don't worry, I will keep the Princess safe."
Princess twilight came over to me as she puts on the magnetic horseshoes, then she climbed onto my back, the magnetics quickly got hold of themselves as Twilight was locked onto my back safely, she tiled herself from side-to-side, amused to see she was completely glued onto me, I smirked in amusement, "Don't worry, your majesty, you can count on me."
"I know I could." Twilight smiled.
"Ready?" I asked.
(First Flight)
"Ready." she nodded, "Wings out! Engines on!"
My twin Variable Cycle Engines began to roar as it began to suck in air and release hot gases. My pair of magnesium wings were extended quickly.
"Thruster!" Twilight said, I wonder how she knows my steps of ignition, I guess she can thank Doctor Hooves for that. My engines Buena to ignite as bright lime colored jets shot out from my engines and slowly lifted us up.
"Eddie, I failed to see how this can be safe for the Princess." Doctor Hooves said worriedly, but I winked at him.
"And I failed to see how YOU failed to see how this is awesome!" I replied, I learned that line form "Big Hero 6" when I searched up the internet on Earth.
"Full thrust!" Twilight exclaimed while pointing her hoof upward, immediately I switched my engines and thrusters to max, the result is I blasted upward so sudden and fast that Twilight nearly screamed. I kept going pinto the air, higher and higher.
"Eddie! Too much thrust! Too much THRUST!!!" Twilight screamed in my ears due to the air around us. I turned off my engines and thrusters form 100% to 0%. Then we lost airspeed and fell straight towards the ground, "No! no, no, no, no! Back on! Turn back on!!!" Twilight screamed again. The crowd gasped at what's happening. But I did not turn back on my thrusters.
"Oh my Celestia! Eddie!!!!!" she screamed while we're losing attitude quickly, we're nearly touching the ground. But suddenly, I tiled my body upward and turned don my thrusters to 100%, shooting upward like a bullet. Twilight had her eyes closed, so I playfully nudged her, "Open up your majesty, enjoy the view!"
Twilight opened her eyes, and were struck awe with a bright smile on her face, to be honest, she looked kinda cute. We shared a smile as I continued forward with a smirk on my face. I maxed up my thrust as we went faster and faster, finally, a bond of white mist appeared around us.
BOOOM!
On the ground, the people and the creatures were shocked and in awe, especially Doctor Whooves.
After breaking the sound barrier and reaching Mach 1, I continued to add thrust while performing barrel rolls with a wild Princess on my back, "NOW RAINBOW DASH IS GONNA BE SO JEALOUS!!!" she cried. I suppose that this Rainbow Dash can also break the sound barrier? I'll see it in time. I did a low pass on the crowd below, as they cheered.
"WANNA SEE SOMETHING COOL?!" I asked loudly into the radio towards Twilight, which she happily accepted. I began to spin around in circle above a lake, faster and faster, until a huge tornado formed due to my speed, the water began to rise into a long tube.
"WHOA!" I heard Twilight exclaimed in awe, "THAT TAKES MORE THAN 800 WINGS POWER TO MAKE A TORNADO!"
"WELL HERE'S SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW YOUR MAJESTY!" I replied loudly, "I COULD FLY UP TO MACH 10! WHICH IS 7,672 MILES PER HOUR!" I couldn't hear her response as I suddenly stopped spinning and shot upward in the middle of the stream, it was so fast that I evaporated the water into mists as it poured into the crowd.
We flew upward until we reached the attitude of 8,000 feet, then I dived towards Canterlot, passing by buildings as I left behind a bunch of shell-shocked audiences. I dodged the buildings easily as I did a spinning barrel roll to the side. Flying out of the city, I increased my speed as I flew straight out of Equestria, activating a small camera next to us, so the crowd back there could see my flight LIVE. I reached my cursing speed, which is in Mach five, 3,836 miles per hour. I zoomed passed the clouds, but they did not vanish instantly, a few seconds after my pass, the sound wave and air current caught up and torn the clouds to nothing.
Our first flyby will be the Changeling Hive, everycreatures from around Equis had heard that I'll do a flyby around the world, so the Changelings had already waited on the peak of their hives, waiting for my flyby. I flew passed them so fast, that none of them noticed me, but the sonic boom and the strong wind coming next blew them up to a loud cheer.
Then we flew passed Griffonia Empire, also with Griffons waiting for us and cheering as well.
We flew across the ocean as we ended up at the other side of the planet, flying pass Zebrica and other unknown continent, which Twilight had recorded in my data pad. We flew passed Mount Aris, earning shocked and awed hippogriffs/sea ponies as the sonic boom reaches them. Now flying straight back to the main land, I decreased my speed, flying by Kuldgetown, where Capper and Celaeno were waiting for our return, the sonic boom drove them crazy.
Finally, Eddie saw the stage at the open field again, h decreased speed and flew slowly towards the crowd, then, in the wave of cheers, did the last sonic boom before landing on the stage. Applause and cheers can be heard, my fly-around-the world was captured by camera and put on LIVE for everyone to see.
As Twilight got off, Doctor Whooves came over with a timer while shouting, "10 MINUTES!!! HE FLEW AROUND THE PLANET IN 10 MINUTES! NEW WORLD RECORD!!!"
After the introduction and the show case's end, I was officially accepted by Equis and Earth, and I'd officially entered service in the Equestrian Air Force. Doctor Whooves was really proud of me, while Princess Twilight stop saying how amazing that experience is.
"My name... Is Eddie Whirlwind... Equestrian A.I Hypersonic Cyber Jet Pony... This message is to all of the evil forces out there... Leave Equestria and Earth alone... Cuz I'm coming."
