Let's Play Volleyball vol 1
"Here we are."
A young girl look out of the car window and look at the new house she was going to live was a girl with short blond hair that reached down to her shoulders, she was wearing a blue t shirt and some blue pants. The house was a normal one, it was white with a black roof.
"Watashi ga suisoku suru, kore ag ima no watashi no atarashi jinseidesu." Said the girl in Japanese.
"Sweetie," The girl look to her left and sitting in the driving seat was a woman in her thirties, she had short black hair, she was wearing a white t shirt and some black pants looking at her with a smile. "we are in America, you can at least speak English."
The young girl let out a sighed. "Fine, I'll speak English."
Before the older woman could say anything, the younger girl had open the door and gotten out of the car. 'I know this is hard for you Reiwara, but I promised your father that I would take care of you, even if we move to another country.' The woman by the name of Wakadera Aira thought to herself as she got out of the car. She then look at the house and let out a sighed herself. 'Reiwara is right about one thing, this is out new life.' She closed the door and walk to the front where Reiwara was already waiting, with her hands in her pockets and listening to music on her phone. 'Young teens and their music.' Aira thought with a smile. She then walk to the front door to unlock it.
Once inside they were in they could see stairs that lead to the second floor, to their left lead to the living room while to the right was the kitchen.
Aira placed both hands on her hips. "This isn't a bad house, isn't it?" She said with a smile while looking at Reiwara who just shrugged her shoulders, she then walk towards the stairs and up to the second floor to see her room. "I guess she's still not used to be around me, and I can't say I blame her." Aria mumble to herself. Then she heard a car horn, so she turned around to see a black car with a large truck behind it drive to the house, it read Microhouse on the truck. "Oh good, the moving company is here." She said while walking to the front yard.
Then a man with black hair step out from the car, he was wearing a brown moving suit. "Are you..." He look at the clipboard he had with him. "...Wakadera Aira?" He asked the woman who approached him.
"Yes, I'm Wakadera Air but you can call me Aira." She said with a smile as she approached him.
The man was a little relived. "That's good to know, I'm not sure if I could pronounce your name correctly, no offence."
Aira just smiled. "None taken, and your...?"
The man held out his hand. "My name is Mike, me and the crew is here to deliver your furniture." While they created each other, three other men got out of the car and walk to the truck where two others were waiting.
Aira happily shock his hand. "That's good to hear, I don't think sleeping on the floor would be very good our first night here." She said as the crew started to unload the truck. "I hope that the two beds are assembled already?" She asked Mike.
Mike took another look at his clipboard. "Yes, you paid extra for that and for the mattress, so they were assembled before we got her, that also go the pillow and duvet. I trust you already have bed sheets and other stuff?" He asked her.
She nodded. "Yes, I have them in my car, I haven't have the time to bring them in yet." Aira told Mike.
"Do you want us to bring them in for you?" Mike asked her.
Aira just shook her head. "The boxes aren't that heavy, I can handle them you can just focus on the furniture."
Mike nodded. "Got it." While they were talking, the crew had started to carry some of the stuff inside the house. "I have to say," Mike took another look at the paper. "some of the stuff you have bought is pretty expensive, how did you afford it all?" He asked her while scratching his head.
"Well, I work for Ghost Electronics."
Mike's jaw actually dropped when he heard that. "No wonder you can have afford all this, Ghost Electronics is one the most successful company in the world, you made the Spectre one of the most powerful gaming console ever created, I bought one for my son last Christmas and then I became father of the year."
Aire just shrugged her shoulders. "I don't rally know about that stuff, I just handle the numbers at the company."
Mike nodded. "That's cool, but aren't the main headquarter in Japan? What are you doing here?" He asked her.
"Were opening one her in Canterlot and I was asked to come her and work, and I show how it all works."
Mike scratched his head. "Doesn't that make you that boss of the company here?" He asked her.
Aira waved her arms in from of her. "Oh no, I'm not the boss, they have selected someone ells. I don't think I'm a very good boss."
"If you say so." Mike then tossed the clipboard into the passenger seat. "Well, I have to help the others with the stuff, is there something we need to know before we place the furniture?"
Aira placed a hand on her chin. "Well, make sure that couch faces the tv, you probably knew that already." Mike couldn't help but smile a little. "Then only think I can think of is that you make sure that my bed isn't near the window in my room, I don't want to have the sun in my eyes in the morning. My bed is the largest."
Mike nodded. "Got it." With that said, he went of to help his crew.
Reiwara has watch the whole conversation from the window in her new room, she couldn't care less what they were talking about, all she cared about that she didn't really wanted to be here. Ever since her father died, Wakadera Aira had become her legal guardian and she wasn't to happy about it. Reiwara didn't have any relatives back in Japan so she didn't have much of a choice, it was this or going to an orphanage.
Reiwara was brough out of her thoughts by some noise behind her, it was one of the moving people and he was holding her bed. "Hey kid, where do you want your bed?" He asked her.
Reiwara look around the room and saw that the window was the opposite of the door. "Just place to your left." The man nodded and be carried inside, another man had the other end. They placed it by the wall.
"We will right back with your mattress." Them man told him as they walk out, Reiwara just nodded her head.
It took the moving company about an hour before they got all the stuff inside, Aira handled the stuff she had in her own car which was clothes, bedding and food she had bought on the way to their new house, she was just glad that one of the first thing they carried in was refrigerator.
After Mike and the other had left, Aria was standing in the living room looking over the stuff. The 65 inch tv was on the tv bench, the table and the couch was placed not far from it so they could watch it without hurting their eyes. There was other tables she placed hers stuff on. 'I'll do that another time.' She thought to herself as she headed to the second floor to check on Reiwara.
Once Aira got to her room she could see the teenager already unpacking her stuff. "Do you need help Rei?"
Rei was busy looking through one of the boxes to look at her guarding. "No." Was the answer.
Aria couldn't help but fell hurt, she could hear the anger in the girls voice, and she couldn't blame her. Moving to a different country all off sudden, leaving her friends and old life behind, it's never easy.
"Alright, I'll be in my room unpacking if need help."
"Whatever." Aria left Rei alone.
It took a while, but Aria was finally finished with unpacking her stuff in her bedroom. He computer was on her desk, her clothes was in her dresser and she had made her bed. She wiped away some sweat from her forehead. "That took longer than I expected." She then happened to look out the window, it was dark outside. "What the...? When did that happened?" She look at the clock on her phone, it read 21.34 pm. "Wow, I didn't know it was this late." She then let out a yawn. "I guess I haven't get rid of the jetlag yet, I better check on Rei." She did that.
Once she arrived at Rei's bedroom, she could see that the door was slightly open, and it was dark there. Aira open the door carefully so she wouldn't wake Rei in case she was sleeping, it was a little dark to see but eventually she could see Rei sleeping peacefully in her bed which made Aira smile.
"I hope you are watching over her Koyada." She whisper so she wouldn't wake up the sleeping teenager.
Aira then closed the door very carefully and then she went to her own room to get some sleep, she could only wonder what the future would bring them in USA.

Let's Play Volleyball vol 1
It was new day in Canterlot and Reiwara was woken up by her alarm in her phone. “Stupid alarm.” She reached over to her nightstand and saw that the clock was 7 am August 12. “I guess it’s time to get up and go to a new school.” Reiwara mumble to herself, she got up and headed to the door, once in the hallway she headed to the bathroom to take a shower.
Once Reiwara was done in the bathroom she went back to her room to get dressed, she opened her wardrobe to get her school uniform but then she remember she didn’t need one. “That’s right, I don’t need to wear a uniform, that‘s going to take some time to get used to.” She just put on some normal clothes and headed down the stairs.
When Reiwara arrived at the kitchen she saw that Aria was already making food by the stove, the older woman look over her shoulder when she heard Reiwara arrived. “Hey there sweetie, did you sleep ok?” She asked with a smile on her face.
“I sleep well enough.” Said Reiwara as she sat down on one of the chair by the kitchen table.
“That’s good to hear.” Aira went back to the food. “I’m making French toast today.”
Reiwara couldn’t help but tilt her head to the side when she heard that. “Have you ever made that back in Japan?” She asked the alder woman.
Aira couldn’t help but giggle a little. “No, so I had to google it, I’m just glad there are videos online.”
Reiwara had never eaten French toast before but right now, she was a little nervous eating one. She knew that Aira was a decent cook but if this was her first time making French toast, she really hoped that she didn’t mess up to bad.
Then Aira voice brought her back. “By the way, I’m going to drive you to school today.”
“Why? Can’t I just take my bicycle?”
“You could but the reason I’m driving you today is because I want to explain to principal Celestia why you weren’t there when school started. But don’t worry, we can bring your bicycle with us so you can ride it home.”
“I guess that makes sense.”
Aira just smiled. “Great.” The food was done. “Now, eat up.” Aira brought a plate with food to Reiwara and herself and they stared to eat, the food was pretty good.
Once they were finished eating they headed upstairs, Raiwara had to find her school equipment and her gym bag while Aira had to chance for work. Once they were done they headed outside and went to the car, which was white 2020 Ford explorer once they had finished placing Raiwara’s bicycle in the back they drove to the school. The ride to the school was in silence.
It took them about twenty five minutes to drive to the school and when Reiwara saw the school she couldn’t help but marvel how pretty it was, the one thing that caught her eye was the horse statue which was in front of the school, she couldn’t help but think how ridiculous it was. Aira parked in the parking lot, which was behind the school, once they had parked Reiwara’s bicycle hey headed inside.
While walking through the hall of Canterlot high school, Reiwara could see a lot of America teenagers walking around, some of them was standing by their lockers talking, she didn’t fell home at all, she was foreigner in their country.
While Reiwara was focus on the people around her, Aira was looking for something ells. “Let’s see here, where is the principal’s office?”
Reiwara look at her guarding with a raised eye brown. “You don’t know?”
Aria look at the teen with annoyance. “Of course, I don’t know, I have never been here before.” Reiwara couldn’t help smirk. “I better ask someone.” She then spotted a girl with blond hair and a cowboy hat who was busy with her locker, Reiwara just thought it was weird, she didn’t know they were allowed to wear hats in schools, they weren’t allowed in Japan. “Excuse me.”
The girl look at the couple, she smiled when she saw them. “Howdy, how can I help you?” She asked while tipping her hat.
“Yes, can you tell me where the principal’s office is? I have an appointment with Celestia.”
“It’s easy,” The blond girl pointed down the hall. “just head up the stairs to the second floor, it’s on your left.”
Aria just smiled. “Thank you,” She bowed. “come on Reiwara.” Both of them walk off.
The blond girl look at the teenager. “Huh, I haven’t see her before. She must be new her, she doesn’t look American. I guess I’ll find out at lunch.” She closed her locker and walk off to class.
The blond girl was right, once they had reached the second floor they saw the office to their left, Aira open the door and they walk inn. The first they saw was a woman with brown hair with black glasses, she was wearing a brown jacket, she was sitting behind a desk looking at a computer screen, her arm was resting on the desk while her hear was reasting on her hand, she look a little bored.
“Excuse me.” The woman look away for the screen and notice Aira and Reiwara. “My name is Wakadera Aira and this is Uzutagi Reiwara, we have an appointment with Celestia Sun.”
The woman blink a few times before speaking. “Right? just let me check.” She typed something on the computer. “Let’s see.” It took a few minutes before she spoke again. “That you have.” She then pick up the phone that on the desk and pressed a button. “Principal Celestia, Wakadera Aira and Uzutagi Reiwara is here to see you.” They waited had to wait a few second. “Right.” She hung up. “The principal can see you now, just go right inn.” She went back to the screen.
As the walk to the door, Reiwara couldn’t help but look at the woman behind the desk and think how rude she was, did she even like to work at the school? When Aira open the door, they saw two woman talking. The closet one was sitting in one of the two chairs with her back facing them, her hair was blue with some light blue. She was talking to a woman sitting behind a desk and she had the most colour hair Reiwara had ever seen, she counted at least six different colours and the only thing she could think off was, she had to dyed her hair. She look like she was in her forty.
The colourful woman smiled when she saw Aira and Reiwara. “Hello, I see that our new student has arrived.” She then look at the woman in front of her. “Get up Luna so our guests can have a seat.”
The woman know as Luna let out a tired sighed. “Fine.” She got up and stretch her body. “I think I will walk around the school, see if I can spot some trouble makers.” She turn around and walk out oof the office.
“Just don’t scare any of the students.” Said the colourful woman, she then turned her attention to her guest. “My name is Celestia Sun and I’m the principal here, you have already meet my sister Luna Moon and you two are,” She had to look at her papers for a second. Wakadera Aira and Uzutagi Reiwara, did I say tour names right?” She said with a worried face.
Aira couldn’t help but smile. “Yes, you said our names right.” Then both of them bowed. “It’s nice to meet you Celestia.”
Celestia just started at them for a moment, wonder why they just bowed then she remember they are from Japan. “We don’t bow around here, we shake hands.” Celestia got up and held pout a hand.
“Yes, of course.” Aira stood up and walk over to shake her hand. “Nice to meet you Celestia.” They shook hands.
“Nice to meet you Wakadera Aria.” Celestia said with a smile.
“You can call me Aria.”
Celestia was a little relived when she heard that. “That’s good to hear, I’m not sure if can say your first name all the time, no offence.”
Aira just waved it off. “Don’t worry about it.”
Then Celestia look at Reiwara who hadn’t said anything yet. “And you must be out new student, Uzutagi.”
“You can just call me Rei, everyone I went to school called me that.”
Celestia nodded. “Then Rei it is.” She then gestured to the two chairs. “Please, have a seat.”
Both of them did that. “Thank you. I would like to apologized that we didn’t arrived at first day at school, the paper wasn’t ready, and our plane was delayed.”
Celestia blink a few time. “Oh right, don’t worry about it, you are not the only one who arrived late, I have a meeting with someone ells after you.” She went back to her papers. “I see that both you are from Japan and you moved her because of your job, is that right?” She asked Aria.
Aria nodded. “That is correct, I work for Ghost Electronics.”
“Well, don’t mention that to my sister, she is a gamer, and she is in love with you console.” She then shook her head. “I swear, sometimes I think my sister is ten years old and not a woman in her thirties.” Celestia then look at teenager. “And Rei,” The young one tensed up a little. “I see that you went to Redlands primary ad middle school.”
Rei nodded. “Yes ma’am, then I went to Karasuno high school before I got here.”
Celestia took a closer look at her papers. “That you did, it's all in the paper I got from Japan. I can see that you played volleyball for eight years.”
“Yes, that’s correct.”
“You can be glad that we have a volleyball team and also enough players to have a team, just barely.” Rei wonder what she meant by that. “Well, here is your schedule for the for the year.” Celestia handed her a piece of paper which Rei took. “And here is you paper for your locker and the code for the lock. Also, volleyball training is after school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the gymnasium after school, you can ask your teacher where it is. ” She handed Rei a small paper which contained what she said. “You better get to class which starts soon.” Rei nodded, she then got up and walk out. “She doesn’t talk much, doesn’t she.” Celestia said as soon as Rei had left.
“No, she was more talkative before her father died, who died six months ago, she also stop smiling.” Aira said while looking at the door.
Celestia couldn’t help but put a hand over her mouth in shock when she heard that. “Oh my, I read in the paper you send that the died, but I never believe it affected her that much. It much been hard for her.”
“It was.” Aira look at Celestia. “She lost her mother when she was 11 years old, she almost stop talking to people, luckily for her father was still there.”
Celestia couldn’t help but fell bad for Rei. “And what about you? How did you get to be Rei’s guardian?” She asked Aira.
“Well, I meet her father, Matahi. About one year ago and when he died I promised him that I would take care of Reiwara, she doesn’t have any relative, so I took her inn. It hasn’t been easy. I’m just glad that she talks to me.”
Celestia just nodded. “That must been hard. But,” She look at the papers again. “working for Ghost Electronics must also be hard.
Aira just shrugged her shoulders. “Not really, I just handled the numbers, it’s pretty easy when your good at it.”
Celestia just smiled. “I guess so. Just who is Rei’s father? I have never heard about him.”
“Kanero Matahi, he was a volleyball player and in 2012/2016 summer Olympic he won gold with Japan.”
Celestia couldn’t help but be impressed by that. “I remember that, I saw it on tv, Japan meet USA in the final both times and they got beaten each time. I would have been angry by it, but I was to impressed by how Japan played, they were unstoppable.”
Aira couldn’t hep but giggle. “That they were, it’s because of her father that Reiwara started to play volleyball, she want to play for Japan when she gets older, but I guess that going to be a little difficult now.” Aria hung her head in shame. “I fell bad for crushing her dream by moving her.”
“Well,” Aira look up at Celestia. “she have now the opportunity to play for USA, if she want to.” Aira was about to answer that when Celestia’s phone rang. “Excuse me.” She picket up the phone. “Yes Raven?” A moment of silence. “Right, tell them to wait for a bitt longer, I’m almost done.” She hang up the phone. “I’m sorry but we have to move on, I have to talk to another new student and her mother, they were a little late.”
Aira nodded. “I understand, I have to get to work myself, I’m late myself.” She got up and bowed. “It was a pleasure to meet you Celestia.”
Celestia wasn’t quite sure what to do so she just got up and bowed to. “It was nice to meet you Aira and…” She took a piece a paper and wrote something on it. “here’s my number, you can just call me if there’s any problem and I will help you as best I can.” She said as she handed the note to Aira. Aira happily took it.
Once Rei exit the office, she started to walk towards the stairs to get to the classroom. According to the paper Celestia gave her, the classrooms are on the first floor and the hobby room like music and art was on the second floor.
“Hurry up Sunset, we will be late.” That new voice made Rei look up from her paper.
“I know mom, you don’t have to say it all the time.”
Coming up the stairs was a red haired woman whit green eyes dressed in a red dress, Rei couldn’t help but admire her beauty. Right after her came a girl that was probably her own age, her hair was mix of red and yellow, she had a pair of black boots, an orange skirt, a pink t shirt with a sun on it and a black leather jacket.
“I know that but have already missed two day of school, you are not missing more classes.” Said the woman as they reached the top.
“I had a fever, I can’t go to school when I’m sick.” Said the teenager know as Sunset.
The woman open her mouth to answer, but nothing came out. “Alright, you have a point there.” Then they notice Rei. “Oh, hello. You don’t happened to know where the principal office is?” The woman asked Rei.
“Yes, it’s that way.” Said Rei while pointing at the door to Celestia’s office.
The woman smiled. “Thank you.” She then look at Sunset. “Come along sweetie, we don’t want to be late.” She then started to walk towards the office while Sunset followed her, letting out a flustering groan.
Rei watch them and she couldn’t help but fell envy towards the girl, it look like her mother cared about her daughter something Rei missed. She shook the feeling off and decided to head to her first class.

Let's Play Volleyball vol 1
Rei walk through the empty halls of the school which means that the classes had already started, her appointment with the principal took longer than she thought. Rei took another look at the paper she got, and the first class was history with a teacher called Cheerilee in room 1 A, she just hope she wouldn’t get in trouble for being late. Once Rei had placed her gym bag in her new locker she headed to the class room.
Once Rei got to the class room she could see through the window a woman that was a least thirty five, she was wearing a green dress with flower? Her hair was normal pink and light. Rei knock on the window to get her attention and it work, Cheerilee look in Rei’s direction, she said something to the class and walk over to the door.
Cheerilee open the door and poked her head out. “Yes, can I help you?” She asked Rei.
Rei took a bow. “My name is Uzutagi Reiwara and I’m a new student here.”
Cheerilee had to blink a few time before answering. “That’s right, the girl from Japan.”
Rei stood up. “That’s right and I’m sorry for begging late, I had a meeting with principal Celestia.”
Cheerilee nodded. “It’s alright, just wait here a minute and I will tell the class.” Rei just nodded as Cheerilee walk back into the class, Rei watch as she said something and then she saw the older woman made a motion with her hand that Rei should enter the class, Rei grabbed the hand, open the door and walk in.
Once Rei walk in she could see that all eyes were on her, they were curious about her and she could see it. Then Cheerilee spoke up. “Class, this is Uzutagi Reiwara from Japan and this is her first day at Canterlot high school, I hope you all will threat her well.”
Rei bowed. “it’s nice to meet you all, you all will probably have trouble saying my name so just call me Rei.” The entire class was in silence, not sure how to react.
Cheerilee then clap her hands. “That’s good to hear, we are just going through world war 2 but I don’t think you have any books yet.” Rei just shook her head. “That was what I thought but lucky for you, I have a spare book with me.” She took a book from the desk and handed it to Rei. “A teacher is always prepared.” She then look over the class. “There’s a free desk behind Twilight behind the window, you can sit there.” Rei nodded her head as she walk to the back of the class.
As she walk past the rest of the students, she could hear they talk about her.
“An exchange student from Japan? Why is her?” Rei heard one said.
“Just look at her, it’s like she own the place.” Sais another one, Rei just ignored them all.
When she arrived at her desk she saw a girl at her own age with glasses, her hair had three different colour and it was tied with a ponytail. She gave Rei a smile which the Japanese girl just ignored as she sat down on her desk. ‘I guess she isn’t very friendly to strangers, I don’t hope that Pinkie bother her too much.’ The girl with the glass thought as she went back to listing to Cheerlie.
The class wasn’t so bad as Rei thought it was, after history it was time for math and then geography. Then it was time for lunch.
Before Rei could have lunch she had to gather the books she need for the rest of the school year, lucky for she could Celestia came with them herself, she felt bad for not mention this to Rei at her office. Rei placed her bag in her locker, after closing the door she was about to walk to the cafeteria, but she didn’t get very far. Right in front of her stood a girl with puffy pink with the biggest smile Rei had ever seen before and it look like her eyes were sparkling? She had a pair of blue boots, a pink skirt with balloons on it? She was also wearing white and blue shirt.
“Hey, my name is Pinkie Pie and you are new at this school just like Sunset Shimmer which I talk to before you but she didn’t look like she wanted to be my friend so I’m asking you because I am friends with almost everyone in this school and I love to make new friends do you want to be my friend?”
Rei wasn’t sure what to think right now, who was this girl and how did she managed to say all that without breathing? One thing was for sure, Rei thought that this girl was annoying, and she really didn’t want to friend with her.
“No thanks.” Said Rei as she walk past Pinkie.
Rei didn’t get far as Pinkie was right in front of her again. “Why not?” She asked while still smiling.
“I just don’t want to.” Rei tried to walk again but Pinkie stood in front of her again. “Would you stop following me.”
Pinkie shook her head. “Nope, not until you tell me why you don’t want to be my friend.”
Rei just started at her in disbelief. ‘What’s wrong with this girl.’ She thought for herself. “You want a reason?” Rei asked this weird girl who just nodded. “Alright, are you on the volleyball team?”
Pinkie tilted her head in confusion. “What?”
“I asked you a question, are you on the volleyball team?”
Pinkie didn’t answer right away. “Huh, no?”
“Then I have no reason to be your friend, I’m only going to be friends with those who are on the team because they have to trust them and since you are not on the team I see no point being your friend. So, stop following me.” Rei walk past her again hoping she would leave her alone.
Rei was lucky, the girl who called herself Pinkie didn’t follow her to the cafeteria, she was glad for that, Rei wasn’t sure if she could handle that energy she had. Once she entered the cafeteria she felt like all eyes were on her and she wasn’t wrong. Almost every one there look at her and it made her uncomfortable, Rei just wanted to go to the school and not draw much attention to herself but, since you are a girl from another country, I guess that won’t work. She just got her food and decided to sit by the table far in the corner.
“Aw man.” Said Pinkie as she sat down by a table with four other girls. “I didn’t get any new friends today.” She then slammed her head on the table while letting out sad sighed.
“Pinkie dear, what are you talking about?” Said one of her friends who was wearing a pair of purple boots, purple skirt with three diamonds on it, she had a white shirt, and her hair was purple and elegant.
“What I mean Rarity is that I asked the two new students if they want to be my friend but both of them said no.” She told her friend.
“Really? Who are the new students?” Asked a new voice which sound a little shy.
Pinkie lifted her head up and look at who spoke. It was a girl with light pink hair, she was wearing green boots, a green skirt with some butterfly’s on it and a white shirt. “I only know the name of one of them and that’s Sunset Shimmer.”
“Seriously?” They all look at another girl by the table, this one had rainbow hair, she was wearing a pair of colourful sneakers and jeans a shirt with a cloud with a rainbow lighting, also a blue jacket. “How can you forget to ask the name of the other student?” The new girl asked Pinkie.
“I was just so happy to meet someone new that I forget to ask, you don’t have to be rude about it Dash.” Pinkie placed her head back on the table.
“Well, do you see this new student without a name in the cafeteria?” Rarity asked Pinkie.
“Yeah.” Pinkie point at the table where the girl was sitting.
All off them look in the direction of where Pinkie was sitting, and they saw a girl with short blond hair. “Oh, that’s Uzutagi Reiwara, she is from Japan.” Said the last girl by the table. Then all eyes were on her. “What? She is in the same class me.” Said Twilight.
The other girls nodded. “So,” Dash look back at Rei. “she is from Japan. I wonder why she is here in USA.”
Pinkie’s head went back to the table. “I don’t know, the only thing I know about her is that she is on the volleyball team.”
When Dash heard she couldn’t help but laugh. “Are you serious Pinkie?” The girl with her head on the table just said ‘yes.’ “She is going to join those losers?” Fluttershy look down on the table when her friend said that.
Rarity just rolled her eyes. “I wish you would stop calling the volleyball team losers.” She told Dash.
“Heck no, they didn’t won many matches last year, that’s why their coach left.” Then the door to the cafeteria open and a pair of twins walk inn, one of them had light green hair with a pink bow in it, the other one had white hair with some blue. “Speak of the devil. Hey Flitter, how many matches are you girls going to lose this year.” She said with tease in her voice.
“Go fuck yourself Dash.” Shouted Flitter’s sister.
Dash couldn’t help but snicker, she then notice her friends just gave her a disappointment look. “What? It’s not my fault that they lose all the time, I just think it’s funny that they only won like five matches last year, that’s all.” Her friends just ignored her.
“Pinkie, what does this Sunset Shimmer look like?” Rarity asked her friend, Dash just rolled her eyes that her friends was ignoring her, she went back to her food.
Pinkie lifted her head from the table. “Right,” She look around the cafeteria. “I don’t see her, but you can’t miss her, her hair is yellow and red.” She then started to eat her food.
Then Rarity spoke again. “Dose this Sunset have a black jacket?”
Pinkie stop eating. “How did you know?”
“I’m in the same class as her.”
Pinkie blink a few times. “Huh, what is the odds of that.” She then want back to her food.
While Pinkie and friends were talking, the twins was standing in line to get their food.
“Man, I wish that Dash just would stop mocking the volleyball team.” Said Cloudchaser while crossing her arms.
“I agree with you sis, but I heard from Fleur that we are getting two players and a new coach this year.” Said Flitter while she grabbed a food tray.
Cloudchaser grabbed her own tray. “Good, maybe we can start winning again which means that Dash would shut up.” Flitter couldn’t help but roll her eyes of what her sister said.
Once they had selected their food, Flitter decided to ask her sister. “So, where do you want to sit?”
“A table that’s far away from the Rainbooms.” Cloudchaser answered her.
“Right, that would be that table.” Said Flitter while nodding her head toward the table, her sister look at the table and already there was a girl they hadn’t seen before sitting there.
“Well. Let’s ask her if we can sit by her.” Said Cloudchaser, Flitter just watch her sister walk of, she eventually just shrugged her shoulders and followed her sister.
Rei was busy eating food she thought would be bad, but she was wrong. She took another bite of her sandwich not notice that two girls was approaching her. “Hey new girl.” Rei look up and saw two girls she hadn’t seen before, they look like twins but the one that a pink ribbon in her hair look a little lower than the other. One had a bow in her hair, she was wearing a dress that was a blue/green, the other one was wearing a grey sweater. “Can we sit here?” Asked the tall one.
Rei didn’t really want anyone to sit with her, but she wasn’t about to tell them to get lost, she wasn’t that cold heart. “Sure.” She went back to her sandwich.
“Thanks.” The twins sat down. “We just want to get away from the Rainbooms.”
That got Rei to look at the twins. “The who…?” She asked them, she had no idea who that was.
“The Rainbooms, those five girls over there.” The tall one point her thumb towards Dash and the other.
Rei look in the direction and saw the five girls, two of them she had seen before but not the other three. “Are they something special students or something.”
The tall girl snorted. “Hell no, they call them self the Rainbooms, we have no idea why.” She then point her thumb at herself. “My name Cloudchaser and this is my sister Flitter.” Nodded her head to the girl with the ribbon in her hair, who just waved at Rei. “What’s your name?”
Rei just let out sighed. “It’s Uzutagi Reiwara, just call me Rei, it’s easier.”
The twins nodded. “Cool, are you from Japan?” Rei just nodded. “That’s so cool, have you joined a club yet?” Before Rei could answer, Flitter smacked her sister in the head. “Ow, what was that for?” She asked her while rubbing her head.
“Don’t ask question just out of the blue, we don’t know her yet.” Cloudchaser just gave her sister an angry glare, which she ignored. “You have to excuse my sister, she can be a little blunt at times.”
“No, it’s okay. I’m in the volleyball team.” The sisters eyes widen when she said that. “What? Did I say something wrong?”
“You are on the volleyball team?” Asked Flitter.
“Yes, I signed up before I got here. Did I do something wrong?”
Flitter shook her head. “No, we heard that we were going to get two new players this year, I didn’t think that would be you.”
Rei was now intrigued. “You two are on the volleyball team?” The twins nodded their head.
“We sure are, I’m a setter while my sister is a middle blocker.” Flitter said with a smile. “Which position do you play?”
“I’m a wing spiker.”
The twins was relieved when they heard that. “That’s good to hear.”
Rei was confused. “How is that good?”
This time Cloudchaser spoke. “We had three wing spikers last year, but one went on to college while the other two change school. fucking traitors.” Said while slamming her hand on the table, she then look to her sister who was ready to hit her in the head again. “Don’t you dare.”
“Then stop acting like a child, they left and there’s nothing we can do about it.” Cloudchaser mumbled something they didn’t hear as she decided to eat her food. “I’m sorry about that, she get a little angry when we mention the girls who change school.”
Rei knew which school they went to. “You’re talking about Crystal prep academy, right?”
Flitter nodded her head while Cloudshaer just snorted. “That’s right, Crystal prep is the second school in Canterlot and our rivals, I still can’t believe Ebony and the others went to school, we had a bad season last year but that’s no excuse to leave the team.” Then the twins mood became sombre, Rei had no idea what happened, but they had to be very good friends with those who left if it hurt them this much. “But hey, this year we are going back to the A league and then we are going to show Crystal prep who is the best volleyball team in Canterlot.” Flitter said with a small smile on her face. Rei could only wonder why this school hated Crystal prep.
Then Cloudchaser spoke up. “So new girl, just old are you?”
“I’m 16.” Rei answered her.
“A first year, me and my sister is second, do you know where we have practice?”
“Principal Celestia said that practice is in the gymnasium.”
“That’s not right.” Rei look to Flitter with confusion. “We do practice in a gymnasium but not the main, we have our own gymnasium.” Rei nodded. “If you want we can show you where it is, which class are you in?” Flitter asked her.
“I’m in 1 A and yes I would like you to show mere where we practice.” The rest of lunch was sin silence.
While they students was eating, a woman in her thirties who had hair that look it was on fire, she was wearing a blue training suit with yellow strip on each side, who was walking towards the stairs to get to the second floor, once on the second floor she walk towards the principal office. Once inside she didn’t see anyone there. ‘There’s no one here, Celestia said that I could walk straight inn.’ She was towards her door and knock on the door. “Come in.” Said a familiar voice on the other side, she walk inn.
Celestia was busy with her lunch when someone knock on her door. ‘That must be Spitfire.’ She thought to herself while putting away her food. “Come in.” The door open and in walk a woman she knew from her childhood. “Spitfire, I haven’t seen you in years.” The older woman got up and walk around her desk to give the younger woman a hug. “How have you been?” Celestia asked Spitfire.
Spitfire return the hug. “Not bad, just move into a house last week at Clove street.” She let go of the hug.
“I heard about that place, the price is somewhere in the middle.” Said Celestia while walking back to her chair and sat down. “I thought you bought a more expensive house.”
Spitfire snorted. “I wish.” She sat down in the chair. “No, I don’t have enough money to buy an expensive house, not the once they have on the west side of this town.”
Celestia nodded in understanding. “I know what you mean. Anyway, I’m so glad you are here to become the volleyball coach for our high school team. They really need one considering our last coach quit.”
“Yeah, I heard about that, something about she didn’t like to lost because the players was so bad at the game.”
Celestia frowned. “I don’t think that was the reason, I think the coach was bad. We have a third year this year who has played for nine years.”
Spitfire couldn’t help but whistle when she heard that. “Nine year, that’s impressive. Do you have the paper with the information about the players?”
“Yes,” Celestia started to look at her desk. “I think so, it should be here.” She started to look at all the paper she had on her desk until she found what she was looking for. “Here we are.” She handed Spitfire the paper.
Spitfire took the paper and look at it, she frowned when she saw it. “Only seven players, that not much to go on.”
Celestia’s face became sombre. “Yes, we had four players transfer to Crystal pep because our team lost so much last year.”
Spitfire look up from the paper with a raised eye brown. “That’s a stupide reason to quit the team and transfer to Crystal pep, that stuck up school.”
Celestia couldn’t help but giggle of what Spitfire said. “I remember you got very angry every time you lost a match against them when you played volleyball for our school.”
Spitfire rolled her eyes. “Don’t remined me.” She look back at the paper. “I see we have a player from Japan, Uzutagi Reiwara. What’s her story?” Spitfire asked Celestia.
“A tragic one, both her parents died, and she had to move here because her guardian got a job her.”
Spitfire couldn’t help but fell bad for the girl. “That can’t be easy for her.” She look at the rest. “The other new one is Sunset Shimmer, she is from L.A. I have played against team from there and they are tough. We have four second year and one third year, and a girl by the name of Fluttershy is the manager.”
“Be cautious around her, she can be a little shy around new people and she get scared very quickly.”
“Don’t worry, I will play nice.” Spitfire then stood up. “Don’t worry Celestia, I will bring the Wonderbolt back to the top,” She then saluted. “you have my word.” Celestia couldn’t help but stare at Spitfire right now while the coach was blushing. “Sorry, my training from the one year in the army kind of kick in.”
Celestia nodded. “That’s right, Luna mention you enlisted into the army after college.”
Spitfire just snorted. “More like forced into the army by my dad but don’t worry, I’m not going to put them through military training.”
Celestia was actually relived when she heard that. “That’s good to hear.” She then got up and held out a hand. “Well, wish you good luck and I hope you will bring us back to the a league.”
Spitfire shook Celestia hand. “I will try my best and if I don’t see Luna before you, tell her I said hello.”
“I will.” Spitfire nodded and walked out of the office, of to train the new team.
Once they done eating, Rei and the twins went back to their classes. The rest of the day was okay for Rei, she didn’t have any trouble in class, they were pretty easy. Once school over, Rei headed to her locker to get her gym bag and when she closed her locker she saw Flitter walking towards her with her own gym bag over shoulder.
“Hey Rei, ready for practices?” She asked the girl from Japan which just nodded her head. “Great, follow me.” Flitter walk past Rei, who just followed her upper class.
It didn’t take long before they arrived at their destination, the girls locker room. Once inside Rei was Flitters sister and a girl she hadn’t seen before who was busy taking of her shoes, she had white hair with some purple at the end, she was wearing a brown jacket with some black pants, she also look older then Rei.
Then new girl spoke. “So, this is one of the new girls you talk about Cloudshaser, Rei was it?”
“Yes, my name is Uzutagi Reiwara, Rei is easier.” She then bowed. “お会い出来て嬉しいです.”
The girls just started at her in confusion. “What did you say? I didn’t understand a word.”
Rei got up and she was blushing. “Sorry, I said it’s nice to meet you in Japanese.” She said while rubbing the back of her head.
The girl just rolled her eyes. “Great, we have a girl that can speak Japanese. Well, my name is Gilda Feather, and I would prefer that you speak English. Got it?” Rei nodded. “Good.” She took of her jacket and hung it one of the lockers. “It’s bad enough I have to tolerate Pinkie, I don’t understand that girl sometimes.”
Flitter walk over to one of the lockers. “Give Rei a break Gilda, it’s her first day at this school.”
“First day or not, you should speak English when you are in America.”
Rei just hung her head in shame. “Don’t mind Gilda.” Rei look up at Cloudchaser. “Gilda can be a little direct sometimes but she nice when you get to know her.” Rei nodded and decided to fine herself a locker.
“There’s nothing wrong with being direct.” Gilda yelled at Cloudchaser who just stuck her tongue out at her. “Whatever.” Gilda look at Rei. “Here’s a question for you new girl, are you any good at volleyball?”
Rei just shrugged her shoulders. “You have to find out.” Rei placed her bag on a bench that was in the locker room.
Gilda just started at Rei while the twins had trouble containing their laughter, then Gilda smile. “You’re brave, I like that. Here’s another question, how long have you play volleyball?”
Rei didn’t answer right away. “About six years.”
Gilda was impressed by that. “Cool, you have play long than me then, I have only play for two years.”
Rei look at Gilda with interest. “Really? What did you play before Volleyball?” Rei asked her.
“Soccer.” Gilda answered with some anger in her voice, so Rei decided not to ask anymore. “Hey Flitter, do you know who the other new girl is?” Gilda asked her.
Flitter shook her head. “No, Fleur didn’t know either, so we just have to wait and see.”
Gilda let out a groan. “Great, I just hope she can play.”
As soon as Gilda said that, the door to the locker room open and three new girl walk inn. Rei recognized one of them, it was the same girl she saw when she had left Celestia office. The other two, no. One of the had purple boot/pants, light green shirt with a green jacket, her hair was purple with some green and it was tied in twin tails and it look like she was older then Rei. The last girl Rei thought was beautiful, she had long which was purple with some white in it. she was wearing a pair of light pink bots, orangs short, blue shirt and a dark pink jacket. She look a little older then Rei. All of them had gym bags with them.
The girl with pink hair clap her hands together. “Gilda, Flitter and Cloudshaer, it’s so good to see you again.”
“Hey Fleur.” Said the twins at the same time while Gild just waved at her.
Fleur placed both hands on her hips. “Really Gilda, I just get a waved from you?”
“Yes.”
Fleur just rolled her eyes, she then notice Rei. “And you must be the girl from Japan, am I right?”
Rei stood up and bowed. “Yes, my name is Uzutagi Reiwara, but you can call me Rei, it’s pleasure to meet to.”
Fleur actually blushed. “Well, that was quite the greeting, way better than two other I know.” that was directed at Gild and the girl with twin tails.
“Oh, ha ha, let’s all laugh at the one who look like a bully.” She then walk over to a locker. “I swear, it’s like I’m on a team with Adagio. You two are more like then you know.”
Fleur buffed out her chest. “I take that as compliment.” The grumpy girl just rolled her eyes. “Anyway Rei, my name is Fleur De Lis and I’m the captain and I play as a defender, the grumpy girl is Aria Blaze, and she is a defender like me.” Rei look at Aira who was busy with her bag. “and this is Sunset Shimmer.” She said while placing a hand on Sunset shoulder. “She told me she is from L.A.”
That got Gilda attention. “L.A. you say?” Sunset nodded. “Which team did you play on?”
“Santa Monica volleyball club.”
That made Cloudchaser whistle. “That’s cool, I heard that’s a very good volleyball team, which position do you play?” Cloudchaer asked Sunset.
“I’m a libero.” Said Sunset as she found herself a locker.
“Nice, I don’t think we had a libero on the team before.” That surprised Rei and Sunset at the same time.
While they was talking, Fleur took a locker right beside Rei. “So, Rei. How is to play in Japan?” Fleur asked her.
“it was okay.” She said while she started to change.
“Did your school win anything?”
Rei nodded. “Yes, in my second year in middle school my school won the spring nationals.”
All the girls was impressed when they heard that, even Gilda and Aira. “That’s impressed, I heard that spring nationals in Japan is one of the most toughest tournaments in Japan.” Said Fleur with marvel in her voice.
“Yeah, it was pretty tough.” Rei answered with almost no emotion on her voice.
Then Gilda spoke. “Hey Fleur,” The older girl look over to her team mate. “do you know who are our coach is this year? Considering or old coach quit.”
Fleur shook her head. “No, I tried to ask principal Celestia, but she didn’t say anything.”
Gilda hit her head against the locker door. “I really hope that it isn’t some old hag.”
“I don’t think I’m old enough to be considered an old hag.” Said a new voice and all the girls look in the direction of the door and there stood their new coach. “My name is Spitfire and I’m your new coach.”
