Hunter POV
Spartan F-127, Designation: Hunter, sprinted down the hallway of the exploding Polar Winter as another plasma blast shook the already critically damaged ship, causing a tilting that knocked down the fleeing marines before they staggered back to their feet. This of course didn't bother Hunter, being one of the many advantages of being a spartan.
Continuing his sprint a voice suddenly sounded out through the damaged frigate, "Crew of the Polar Winter we are scuttling the ship, abandon your stations and make your way to the nearest lifeboat." A pause came, as soming else hit the ship causing even him to lose his footing slightly. Screams suddenly echoed through the halls, as gunfire and plasmafire traded blows over the intercomm before falling silent, the quiet yet impossibly loud crackling taking over.
Hunter stood in silence for a few seconds mourning the lives lost in the control centre, before resuming his sprint a new course in mind, being the lifeboats located near the armory.
After a few minutes of sprinting, with his spartan speed he managed to find a lifeboat with a vacant spot. With his own safety secured he activated his radio, speaking into it urgently, "Frost Squad this is Hunter have succesfully made it to lifeboat, and are heading to nearest planet now, Cody are you their?" Hunter frowned in his helmet as a familiar crackling filled his ears.
His frown was soon removed though as a familiar voice replaced the accursed static, "This is Damian, heading to lifeboats near medbay." Damian said in panic.
"Roger that Damian, glad to hear a friendly voice," Hunter replied a slight smile coming upon him, "Have you seen Cody?" He continued.
"Cody is here with me but is heavily injured, I've run out of ammunition and the Covenant have secured about half the ship already."
"Roger that, heading to nearest planet, now." Hunter replied as the lifeboat prepared to eject.
"See you planetside, Damian out." And with that the transmission was cut.
Leaning back in his seat he sighed in exhaustion. It had been a constant chase with the Covenant never giving up, no matter how many slipspace jumps they took they couldn't shake 'em. It had all gone to crap when Reach fell, and had never really gotten better.
They were soon ejected out of the now exploding ship, and were now headed to an unkown planet, being who knows how far from Earth. Randomly jumping with no idea where you were gonna end up would do that to you.
Staring out the small window in the door, he caught his final sight of the frigate he had called home for many years. A sad sort of smile graced his lips, but of course to the frightened marines around him he was basically a robot. Speaking of which all were simply staring at him some out of fear, some in awe, and some were jsut plain curious. He noticed one marine which was simply staring at the ground shaking.
"Hey," He said to the shaking marine, causing him to jump and shake even more. "What's your name kid?" He asked, trying to blend some sort of kindness into his voice. Gulping the marine replied with a quiet, "Jack.".
Nodding Hunter quickly scoured his brain for a way to cheer the marine up. Then the most wonderful idea appeared in his head.
He would bribe him.
"You get one question" Hunter said, bringing in even more stares from the marines.
Still shaking Jack asked his question, the question that would probably reveal something immensely private about him to all marines present.
"How old are you?"
Hunter blinked inside his helmet. Guess not.
"22" He said flatly, honestly being kind of glad at the innocence of the question.
A swift punch soon came to Jacks shoulder, with the marine who threw the punch beginning to scold him about how he wasted the question, before turning to Hunter and pleading for one more question, getting a simple no. Laughter soon filled the lifeboat as the marine simply slumped back into his seat with of a child being told they couldn't get the latest toy.
"It ain't the end of the world Kowalski, hell your lucky you even heard the answer, no matter how bad the question was." The marine to his right said, rolling his eyes at Jack.
"Hey, we could have gotten some good dirt on a spartan for crying out loud!" Kowalski said indignantly, bringing another round of laughs, and even a small chuckle from Hunter. Looking around the lifeboat at the marines, as they chatted joked and laughed, a single thought came to his mind.
This is what I fight for.
His thoughts were cut short however as a sudden rumbling overtook the lifeboat. Looking back over his seat the pilot said, "We're making our way into the upper atmosphere, you may want to hold on!" Having to shout at the end due to the now insanely loud rumbling as the interior became extremely hot.
The shaking got less bad, but didn't show any sign of slowing down as they got closer and closer to the ground, the hot flames that had plagued the lifeboat on entry were soon dissipated as they got a claer look at the planet through the front and back windows. Several jaws dropped as a wonderful sight came upon them, so beautiful that even Hunters mouth opened a little.
An endless plain of lush fields of green, with small villages dotted among it. But what really took everyones breath away was the majestic castle that stood on the side of the mountain, a beautiful array of gold and white blended togetehr perfectly to create a majestic sight. And it was getting closer by the minute.
Hunters eyes suddenly widened as they drew closer and closer. The other marines began to notice it too and quickly started to brace themselves.
Gritting his teeth Hunter braced himself as well preparing for the inevitable crash.
The towers were getting closer, as the pilot failed to pull out of the crash course they were on, a loud shattering sound of metal against stone sounded throughout the city, knocking through several towers and walls before colliding with a wall strong enough to hold the now slowed down lifeboat, as Hunter quickly lost consciousness from the impact, the laughter of the marines surrounding him echoing in his mind.

And Hunter has basically got Reach Odst armor with black and red colours.
Princess Celestia walked through the partially destroyed halls of the Royal Palace, her mind spinning. There was apparantly another race out there, and was also extremely hostile. And the worst thing was that the royal guard was almost incompetent against the Changelings. If it weren't for Cadance and Shining Armor Canterlot likely would have fallen.
She sighed as she saw Guards patching their wounds with bandages, and doctors rushing through the halls. Of course the main city wasn't spared damage either and had a fair amount of buildings destroyed from changeling spells. She had failed her little ponies, had failed to defeat Chrysalis, and had to be saved by her niece and now nephew Shining Armor. She was completely embarassed and ashamed at how poorly she and the royal guard had done defending against the threat.
Regardless she had to stay strong, and with resolve in her eyes she vowed to never fail her little ponies again. A bang suddenly sounded outside, and while faint and faraway she could still hear it. Sprinting to the nearest balcony she noticed many guards also heading to it. Had it really been so loud that her alicorn hearing was not the only one that had heard it?
Making it to the balcony a large sized crowd of guards stood there looking up at the sky, while still bowing before her.
Curious she looked up to see a small speck in the distance, being a dark steel colour while the other speck next to it was much larger and sported a dark purple colour. Suddenly the dark steel one exploded loudly enough that she could hear it as if it was right in front of her. Covering her now ringing ears she noticed smaller balls of fire raining down from the sky, coming into the atmosphere at intense speeds. Making a mental note she remembered where each of the balls of fire were heading. One landed in the Badlands, another in the Frozen North, one then landed somewhere in the Everfree Forest. Tracking each and everyone she saw several explode before landing sending debris all over the realm.
And with that she looked at the final one that hadn't landed yet she noticed it getting bigger and bigger somehow. Her eyes widened in horror as it made a beeline for the Royal Palace, "Get to cover!" She screamed at the guards causing them to scramble away from the balcony, the object that she could now identify as a large metal rock of some sort crashed through several towers on the way, causing screams to erupt as rubble and debris landed all over the city.
Another loud crash sounded to her left in the throne room. Whatever it was it was in the throne room, and boy she was mad now. She walked towards the throne room only being a short distance there was no need to sprint, and she also needed to think. Something had happened in the sky yet she had no idea what sort of creatures they were to have been so big. Her thinking was cut short as she opened the door to the once majestic throne room, only to find it completely devasted.
The right wall was pulverised, and large chunks of the roof had destabilized and chunks soon began to slowly fall. Seeing this she cast a spell to reaffirm the remaining roof and reattach the fallen ones. After this was done her gaze fell on a group of guards surrounding the metallic object, with spells and spears at the ready.
Walking over to this she passed the guards, and examined the fallen meteorite, discovering what appeared to be some sort of door, peering through the cracked window to find several limp bodies. Eyes widening in panic she exclaimed, "Their are ponies in there!" This came as a shock to the guards and the quickly moved forward to open the door, but alas to no avail.
"Stand back!" She ordered as the door was quickly enveloped in a golden aura, she first pulled lightly against it, but found strong resistance, and so increasing the intensity of her tugging she soon felt a budge, smiling she constantly increased her power and soon the door came off clanging on the hard stone floor. Holding up a hand for her guards to hold, before stepping into the small room.
Seats lined the walls each with its own individual, except for one where a pair of straps was broken and he lay face first on the cold hard ground. Looking around she saw blood lining the walls. Filled with concern she knelt down and turned the limp body of the pony around so she could identify the damage.
What she saw made her sick. The face of it was bloodied with many chunks of skin fallen off, blood snaking its way down its shirt. Standing up with a gasp she gagged, holding a hand up to her mouth. Levitating the pony out of the room towards her guards, she silently set it down in front of the door. The sound of someone losing their stomach was soon heard behind her, but she didn't want to look to see who, for she might just lose her's.
Checking all the other bodies she found that all of them had died from either shock or had suffered severe damage to their skeletal system, causing them to die. And upon closer inspection she soon realized that none of these creatures were ponies, despite the similarities. She then looked to the final body, and noticed many things different and noticed many things.
For one this creature wore more armor then the rest of them and it looked to be made of a stronger metal, also having a yellow visor of sorts on the helmet. There was also the custom paint job done to it, sporting mainly black colour with red accents, giving it a menacing look. Cautiously and curiously she pressed her finger against the neck of the creature to check for a pulse.
At first nothing then a metal hand grabbed her wrist and twisted, causing her to cry out in pain. With not enough time to react the creature then brought a knee to her stomach, bringing her to her knees in pain, winded and still trying to comprehend what happened she was then thrust back up to her feet a wrist twisted behind her. In a last ditch attempt she threw an elbow at her assailant's stomach but brought it back in agony as she only met hardness. She then stopped struggling as a knife was pressed up against her throat, its edges serrated and already cutting into her neck, causing her to wince.
The creature brought her out of the metal object they had their little scuffle in to face the guards who now had there spears aimed at the assailant, with several of them also having spells ready to fire. She gulped but this only resulted in the knife cutting deeper.
She looked back at the creature that held her captive seeing nothing but her own reflection on the yellow visor. The creatures head suddenly shifted to the body on the floor, it's knife pressing harder against her throat as it turned back to Celestia.
"What did you do to Jack." It questioned threateningly, the knife pressing even harder, eliciting a portion of blood to leak out.
Shaking Celestia looked straight ahead, answering in a fearful tone, "We found it that way, everyone else in that room is also dead, we had nothign to do with it."
The creature looked at the body, then back at Celestia, alternating between the two.
There was a loud bang as the doors smashed open revealing Luna and a large contingency of guards, numbering about twenty strong. Her angry gaze came upon Celestia, briefly switching to one of fear, before alternating back to anger as her eyes fell upon the creature holding Celestia hostage.
"You dear hold our sister hostage!?!!" She yelled in fury, as she moved foward drawing a sword, pausing however when the knife dug deeper into Celestia. Celestia's once beautiful dress was now drenched in her own blood, and she began to lose her senses. She had lost too much blood. The hatred however had not left Luna's eyes as she raised the sword threatiningly at the creature.
"Release our sister now, and we will promise that you will be allowed to leave peacefully." She said, clearly trying to reason with it, yet not one ounce of anger left her eyes.
At this the creature's gaze shifted between guards. Most likely counting them, Celestia thought, hoping that he would consider them too many. In the end he nodded silently and slowly let Celestia go, and with her being unable to hold herself she quickly plummeted before being rescued by a dark purple magical aura. She was soon settled beside Luna who was now performing every first aid spell she knew
Knife still at the ready the creature moved over to the side, shuffling ever so slightly. A spell shot into the creature and her eyes tracked it to a furious Shining Armor. She looked over to the creature, and to her surprise, found it completely unharmed. Instead a yellow shield of sorts came out of nowhere, and deflected it into one of the other guards, knocking him to the floor.
One of the other guards then charged at the creature, before falling to the ground, his hands at his thoat as blood poured out like it was going out of fashion. And there stood the creature blood splattered onto his visor, with his knife held out to the side blood dripping off of it.
At this the other guards charged at the creature in a fury.
A bloodbath ensued...
_______________
Luna POV
This... Creature, fought like a demon. Already 10 guards lay limp on the floor, blood spilling out of them. Seeing all the guards die Luna looked to Celestia, who had just fallen unconscious, and stood up laying Celestia's head on the floor gently her usualy wavy hair now hung limp, and sprawled across the floor. Drawing her sword she approached the... thing with a look of revenge for Celestia and all the dead guards. It was now however just Shining Armor left who stood at the ready spear in hand confidence in his eyes.
Yet she could still see a small glimmer of fear. Sighing she came to Shining's side, shaking her head at the overconfidence of the Royal Guard, not excluding their captain. They had just charged at a superior foe, and gotten slaughtered for it. Even when they saw their comrades fall they still attacked and attacked. She quickly got into a battle stance as the creature's head shifted from Shining to her, it's grip on the knife tightening.
Slowly Shining and Luna advanced using the length of their weapons as their advantage, pressing him back towards the window making him stopa few feet before it. He then looked back at the window and then at the its two foes, slowly glancing between them.
Luna smiled. They had won. The creature had nowhere to go and they had the weapon advantage as well as spells.
"Give up now or die creature." She said the smile turning sadistic. Oh how she would enjoy making him pay for all the pain he had caused today.
The creature then got out of his battle stance, supposedly admitting defeat. And so they slowly continued to advance, until they were close enough that they could probably grab him right now. As such Shining reached forward cautiously making for its rest. The battle was won.
Until the creature spoke, chuckling darkly whiel he said it, "Spartans never die." Shining froze at that and looked at him curiously.
"They go missing in action."
And with that it sprinted towards the window, with no sign of slowing down.
"No!" Luna cried as she ran after him. But too late.
The creature burst through the fragile window and fell into the city below...
