Dreamcatcher

I want you to look at the clock. Watch the seconds turn to minutes. The minutes to hours. Study the sounds of the gears inside turning, not because they want to, but because it’s a comfortable habit. It’s safe.

I’ve been staring at that clock for… well I’ve honestly lost count. The blank screen in front of me? Even longer. I’m almost thirty and what do I have to show? No stories.

Not even one.

I’ll fall back into false hope, because it’s a habit. Everyone hopes that stories can be what we need. Teach us lessons about who we really are. Mine? It tells me I’m nothing.
