The Next Day
I smiled as I watched the Changelings party in their warehouse. They were excited about moving to the new base of operation. “Damn, I think they may be going a little too far.” I heard Chrysalis laughing, and I looked away from the window and saw her looking at me.
“What did you expect? We're moving from this beat-up old warehouse and into a new hotel in the area we took from Sombra’s former territory.”
I smiled then nodded as I looked back to the large doors. ‘My new gang should be here soon. I think the first thing I’ll do is purge the gang of anyone I think won’t listen to me. I will be doing away with the prostitution ring and make rules about who they can sell to. I’ve heard the stories about teens overdosing or getting killed by others for what they had. I know it will hit my profits some, but I think it’s the best action to take.’
“What’s going on in your head?”
I looked back at her and smiled as I nodded my head. “Don’t worry. It’s nothing that’s going to mess with your business. Besides, I’m a man of my word. I won’t mess with you or your deals from here on out. Anything beyond our deal is all you.” I smiled as I watched the doors open, and sure enough, a man and a woman walked in. “And there is my gang.” I stood up then grabbed my jacket off the coat rack. “I’ll be getting a cell phone later today. I’ll be coming by to get your number.” I smiled at her, and she gave one back before I walked out. I walked down and looked at the two. The man wore a white suit and had dark blue hair with light blue highlights. The woman was in a dress and had on light make-up. She had light skin and pink hair with purple and gold highlights. The man looked me up and down with an annoyed look on his face. I smiled then pulled out the golden gun, gaining their attention. “I will not tolerate dissent. You feel like trying your luck; please try it, and when I have you in a puddle of blood, I’ll take your woman here.” He looked at me and uncrossed his arms, as I pulled the hammer back.
“Shining!”
The woman grabbed the man’s arm, before she looked me in the eye.
“We’re in charge of gathering more members and finances. We’ve yet to find a new place to run the business, but we’ve brought this month profits.”
She turned and yelled for someone. A minute later, two men came in with two briefcases each. I smiled as they walked over to a table and opened them as I walked over. I saw stacks of twenties in one of the briefcases and stacks of hundreds in the other. I laughed as I walked over and grabbed a stack of hundreds. I patted the stack on my hand then looked back at the woman. “How much is here?” She cleared her throat, looking around before she spoke.
“A little under nine-thousand dollars, which is a little more than the last few months thanks to the expansion into protection fees.”
I nodded and took out a few stacks of hundreds before tossing them over to her. She caught them and looked back at me. “Take that and get new weapons and see how much it will cost to buy a house in the city.” She nodded, and they all quickly left the warehouse. I smiled and laughed a little more, then looked at the shocked men around me. I smiled, then pulled out a few stacks of twenties. “Go have some fun, guys!” I threw them over to some of them, and they erupted in yells. I closed the briefcases and headed for my car. I walked around the corner and stopped as I looked at my car, seeing Sunset sitting on the hood. She frowned as she looked at me, and I sighed. I knew that this had to come sooner or later. I walked up to her with all four briefcases in hand. “You found me a lot sooner than expected.” She huffed and jumped off my hood.
“When Rainbow told me the gangs near her house were fighting more, I knew someone had kicked the hornet’s nest. If it makes you feel better, you weren’t my first guess. But, I have to ask if you’re the one who took over Sombra’s territory.”
I smirked and nodded as I set the money down on the hood. “Yeah, it was me who wiped out most of the leadership. I’ll be making rules about who they can sell to. If crime can’t be stopped, why not control it. But, we have a problem now.” I pulled out my colt and set it on the hood as I looked back at a now scared Sunset. “Relax, woman. I’m not going to hurt a hair on your head. I’ve never raised a hand to a woman in my life. I’m not about to start now. This is for the guys that I know are coming after me. I know for a fact someone somewhere is going to do something. But, now the problem is the fact that I have a woman who knows who I am and who has and is going to gain more power.” She blinked and smiled as I stood up and opened the briefcase before taking out a few stacks of hundreds. “Tell you what, I need more information on the city. You and your friends live around the city, and you know stuff. Where to go, where not to go, I need that. I’m happy to pay for the information.” I held up a stack of two thousand dollars, and she looked at it. “I can make it a monthly deal. I think we can do, and I don’t know, eight hundred a month? There’s rent and then some to go into the bank. Plus this little starting bonus.” She looked at me then back to the cash.
“Do you plan to keep the prostitution ring going?”
I shook my head as I looked at her. “No, I’m going to close that route down and have the drug ring shrink as I’m going to tell them not to sell near schools and parks anymore.” She smiled, then grabbed the stack, and I held it when she tried to pull it from my hand. She looked back at me, and I narrowed my eyes as I looked at her. “Don’t make me regret this, Sunset.” She nodded, and I let the stack go before waving her over to the passenger door. “Come on, I need to get home, and I’m sure you don’t want to be caught out here.” She nodded and slipped the cash into her jacket before getting in. I grabbed my colt, then walked around and threw the briefcases in the trunk. I got into my seat and started up the engine. “Do you want something to eat?” She looked over at me, and I smiled as I looked at her.
“Um, sure.”
I smiled then pulled out of the alley and onto the street. I put my colt back onto my side, and as I drove, I looked at her out of the corner of my eye.
“So, I think we’re more alike than you think. I’m not going to question your past if you don’t question mine.” She smiled then leaned back into the seat.
“You know I think you should enroll at canterlot high. You’re what? Seventeen? Eighteen years old?”
“Seventeen but, I don’t have school records nor anything else I’d need to enroll.” She laughed before she rolled down the window making her hair wave in the air.
“I can handle that, I just need another few hundred dollars, and you’ll have what you need in a few hours.”
I raised an eyebrow and looked at her out of the corner of my eye. “Someone’s already dancing in this world?” She laughed and smiled as she looked over at me.
“Well, Rainbow’s parents are good friends with the school district’s superintendent. I gave them a few gold coins, and I was enrolled not five hours later.”
I laughed and smiled as we stopped at a red light. “Why don’t we head over? I may want to give him some work if he’s well connected.” She smiled then nodded her head to the right.
“Turn right and go straight for four miles, then make a left. We’ll go ten more miles, and then you’ll see a neighborhood coming up on the right.” I smiled and did as she said. It took us thirty minutes to get there, but we soon turned into a neighborhood. It was a nice place with large houses with fenced backyards. “Which one is their house?” She looked around then pointed down the street.
“That blue one on the right.”
I looked over and saw the deep blue house on the right. I saw Rainbow come flying out of the door as I pulled up.
“Jr!?”
Sunset laughed as I opened the door to get out. Sunset got out as Rainbow looked at me, a smile on her face.
“Did you come to give me that ride?”
I smiled as I looked at the excited smile on her face. “Okay, okay. Sunset, would you mind waiting here for us to come back?” She laughed as Rainbow jumped into the passenger seat.
“I’ll have a talk with him and his wife for you.”
I nodded, then got into the driver’s seat and started up the engine.

I watched them drive off, and I smiled as I looked back at the door. Windy looked down at me, a smile on her face.
“Got some more business for us?”
I smiled as I walked over to the bottom of the steps. “Yeah, I need the same as before but this time for the guy who just drove off with Rainbow in the mustang. He needs all the same stuff I did. License, school records, and a passport couldn’t hurt. He’s got the cash on hand if you can do it.” She laughed then waved for me to come in. I walked into the house, and Bow came down from the second floor and saw me.
“Oh! Sunset, it’s been a while. What brings you here this time?”
Windy spoke up as she walked over to the sofa.
“She’s got more work for us, Bow. This time for the boy that Rainbow just took off within a nice mustang.”
Bow nodded as we walked into the living room and sat down. Bow sat down beside Windy and sat on the loveseat on the other side of the living room.
“Ok, so what is he looking for? New life? School information?”
“Same things I needed, and he has the cash to pay in full.”
He smiled and nodded before we heard the engine roar again. I looked out the window and saw the back end of Jr’s mustang going down the street. “Seems like Rainbow wants to see how fast that car is.” They laughed as I looked back at them.
“That’s my girl! A need for speed is in her blood.”
I nodded as I looked back at the two. “Knowing Jr, it won’t last long. Oh, and before I forget, he’s the one who took over everything by killing Sombra and taking over this area.” Their smiles dropped, and Bow leaned forward.
“You telling us that kid is the one who slaughtered the whole upper level of control of this area?”
I smiled as I leaned back into the sofa and pulled out the small stack of hundreds, then set it on the coffee table. “Yep, and he’s offered to make me part of the new information chain, and he’s looking for info brokers. You two got dirt on a lot of people from your old lives. He’s willing to pay for what we all know. I got a feeling sticking with his is a safe bet, so I’ll be sticking by him. Betraying him seems like a death sentence, so I’d keep my mouth shut.” After I finished, the door opened, and Rainbow walked back in with a smile on her face. I quickly grabbed the cash and stuffed it back into my jacket.
“So you're really going to enroll in Canterlot High?”
“Yeah. Sunset told me it was the closest school besides Crystal Prep, but I’m not going to some study school.”
“Say would you give me lifts home if you do? I hate riding the bus every day to and from. And maybe Flutters too. She lives a little farther from the school.”
Jr shrugged as they walked into the living room.
“I don’t see why not.”
He sat down beside me as Rainbow ran up the steps. Jr dropped his smile once we heard a door close. He crossed his leg as he leaned back into the loveseat and crossed his arms.

“So has Sunset explained everything?”
They nodded, and I smiled as I pulled out two stacks of cash. One of the twenties and one of the hundreds. “You get six hundred in twenties now and two thousand in hundreds once I have everything in hand.” The man smiled and nodded before standing up.
“I’ll get the calls started.”
I smiled then threw over the twenties. He caught them and smiled as I walked over to the kitchen and put the cash into the cabinet. He grabbed the house phone and started to dial some numbers. I smiled as I stood then looked at Sunset. “Do you have a cell phone?” She nodded, then pulled out a touchscreen phone, a galaxy, I think. I nodded, then looked at the mother. “We’ll be back in four hours. If anything happens or we need to make a change, call Sunset.” She nodded and stood up to walk us to the door. I nodded my head as Sunset stood. “We’ll see ourselves out. You need to talk with your husband if you’re going to take my deal or not.” She nodded and waved as we walked out of the door. I smiled as I looked back at Sunset. “I know what you're thinking, but you're wrong.” She blinked and nodded as she looked at me.
“What do you mean?”
I laughed as we walked up to the car. “I’m not going to threaten anyone if this falls through. Rainbow has no part in this, and I won’t try and catch her in the blast radius if something happens.” She nodded, and we got in and started to talk once we were in the car.
“So, what are you really after? What do you want to gain from everything?”
I looked at her for a second, then nodded as I started the car and backed out. “You don’t need to know that Sunset. Your job is just to gather information.” She looked at me, and I sighed as I put the car into drive. “You’ll be safer if you don’t know what I’m planning. I don’t want you to get caught in the blast zone when I drop the nuke.” She nodded, and I turned us back onto the main road.
“So, can you at least tell me if you’re from Equestria?”
I looked at her confused, and she seemed to be relieved. I looked forward again as she laughed a little.
“Yeah, I guess I shouldn’t have asked you about it. Seeing as I don’t think you know what I’m talking about.”
Nodding, I turned right onto the main street, heading for the mail. I sighed as I looked ahead, but Sunset spoke up.
“Is that Miss Harshwinny?”
I looked to the left, and sure enough, Harshwinny was waving at us as she walked down the sidewalk. I smiled and looked at the back, and there was room. “I think she’d like a ride. Do you mind getting in the back?” She nodded, then climbed over the center console and sat down behind the passenger seat. We pulled off, and I was right as Harshwinny got in but seemed a little annoyed when she noticed Sunset.
“Oh, hello, Sunset. How are you today?”
Sunset smiled as she spoke.
“Fine, I was going to help Jr pick out a phone. Plus, it’s nice not to be stuck on a bus.”
I could see the tension between the two and nodded as I drove. “So where were you going, miss Harshwinny?” She smiled at me, and I felt my blood run a little cold, almost like when I was running for my life.
“Oh, I was coming back from a meeting with some people from the city trying to buy my apartment complex. They’ve done this three times now, and every time I have to argue with them about why I’m not going to sell.”
I nodded, and I smiled as Sunset told me to turn right. I saw the mall coming up, and I took the next right. After a minute, I found a parking spot. We all got out, but I noticed Harshwhinny giving Sunset a nasty look out of the corner of her eyes. Sunset hadn’t seen it, but I had, and I was a little worried after seeing that look. I acted like I hadn't seen it as we walked into the mail. Harshwhinny walked with us until we reached the phone store. She said she needed to go and get a few things and asked for a ride back to the apartment. Sunset went off on her own to look for a few things herself. I was happy to see them going in opposite directions and hoped they wouldn’t meet up or at least not fight like kids. I walked into the store and saw phones lining the display racks. I looked around and stopped as I saw a Galaxy A Eleven and Ten.
“Do you need some help?”
I looked to the right and saw a large man with torn-off sleeve. He had a big mohawk and wore a pair of black pants. He had a large nose ring with a headset on. I smiled and nodded as I looked at him. “Yeah.”

Three Hours Later
I smiled as I walked through my new place of business and smiled as I watched my people moving around. Jr had given us a chance for a real power base. I smiled then walked into the VIP room. I looked over at the desk and saw the map Jr had lent me. I walked over and looked down at it and stopped when I saw that the image had changed. It showed that my area had grown and Jr’s area had turned black. “What the hell?”
