Thunder clapped once more as the rain began to pour and winds began to hit. This storm happened every year, and was dubbed the "Canterlot Storm" by residents of Canterlot City. it was powerful, but something else scared Sunset. the thunder. and it just so happens that Sunset's father died when she was 7 years old, all because of one.

It was just a normal day, nothing to be worried about. Her father and herself were walking casually through the streets. As usual, they were arguing.

"Sunset, you need to make some friends. It's important." he said. "You're 7 and the closest non-family member you are close to is your maths teacher."

Sunset scoffed silently. "So what? I'm smart. Friends will only hold me back from my studies."

Her father sighed our of annoyance. "Sunset, if i hadn't met Iron Steel, he wouldn't of introduce me to your mother, and you wouldn't if been born. That's how important friends are. "Don't you want to find your special stallion?"

Sunset laughed. "Don't you know I'm bi, dad? Have you not been listening for the past year?!"

"Or course I have, honey. My point still stands-" a light pour interrupted him. "The storm came early this year?"

"Yeah, the pegasai needed it earlier for a while, so what? They're not that dangerous, Dad."

Her father knew what he had to do. "Sunset, we're leaving. The lightning bolts they use are enchanted and take time to recharge. if they moved it up, then it's possible to.."

"To?" Sunset wanted to know. "Don't keep stuff to yourself."

Sunset was lifted into her dad's back, while he began to run and inform his daughter on what was happening. "As i was saying, do you know how powerful the lightning is when they're not pushed back?"

"Yeah," Sunset nodded as her father swerved around a corner along with a few hundred more unicorns and earth ponies. "I've seen a tree get knocked down once. Why?"

"Sunny, one of those bolts this unprepaired will send anypony to where mommy went, you got that?"

Sunset could cry on the spot. As her father rounded another corner he lost his footing and fell. The two got separated between a stampede of small fillies, colts and stallions.

"Sunset!" He yelled over the thunder clapping overhead. "Go home! Daddy will meet you there, okay?"

Sunset tried to yell back, but the sound of hooves slamming down on dirt crowded her voice. She was alone, and could hardly stand up straight, so running was out of the option. The rain was now in full swing, her tears became masked with the rain.

"it's just like a test!" she lies to herself. "Find out the root of the problem, and solve it, right?" The only problem is there were multiple problems.

After some time, she made it into the pavement. Rain hit more and the winds began to pick up. "Home, home.." She paced down the spot. She now has a new goal. "You can do this, Sunset."

She arrived home after some advanced thinking. her father wasn't home. Nothing was there. She waited days for him to come home. Nothing. She was alone.

Sunset was interrupted by her phone buzzing on her nightstand. She reached over a picked it up, peering at the message.

Twilight was too good sometimes.

Sunset wanted to tell her about the fear she held so deeply, but the last time she told her assistants, they laughed at her and called her names. Sighing, she decided to tell her.

Sunset looked outside as another patch of lightning struck the earth. She flinched and curled up into a ball. "Just tell her, Sunset." she told herself. "She's not gonna break up with you."

something happened in equestria with storms, guess I never really recovered

The chat was silent for a few minutes.

just asked my mom if I can come over, said yes. U got anything to help urself calm down till I get there?

Sunset ran down her stairs that led to her bed and looked through a few draws, to come up with nothing. She swore that last week, she bought a fidget cube to help with her issue. may be she lost it. She ran back upstairs.

thought I had a fidget cube, apparently not she responded.

I have some stuff. use ur phone to maybe distract urself till I get there

Sunset sighed. ur the best babe

Twilight didn't respond to that last message, but hearted it.

The door unlocked 10 minutes later to reveal a Twilight with a soaked jacket. Sunset has moved from the bed to pacing between her sofa and tv.

They made eye contact as Twilight dropped her bag so Sunset could jump into her arms, small tears coming out of her eyes. Twilight kissed her forehead. "Shh, I'm here now."

"I've been so scared of telling anyone since I got here." Sunset said, in between sobs. Twilight rubbed her hair with a caring hand. "I don't think anyone else knows except you and a few others. They made fun of me for it."

Twilight looked shocked. "Why would they make fun of you for that?"

Sunset shrugged, wiping tears from her eye and paying her head in between Twilight's neck. "They were mean, I was mean. Kinda a system we had."

"Oh, was this back when you were a bully?"

Sunset nodded and adjusted her arms. "Deserved it."

Twilight scoffed. "With the way you're acting, you don't deserve it."

Sunset yawned "Thanks."

"Sounds like you need a nap." Twilight said, as Sunset blushed slightly. " But first, go get changed."

Sunset has her casual clothes on, and has them on the whole time. "Oh, okay." Twilight kissed her. "Bed's upstairs."

Twilight giggled and picked up the bag and headed upstairs.

Sunset emerged a while later, face washed and she was changed into some pants and a t-shirt. Twilight was very visable upstairs. Sunset was visible downstairs.

"You look adorable, Sunny."

Sunset blushed. "D-don't call me that!"

Twilight stuck her tounge out and signalled Sunset to sit down on the bed. She did so without question. "So, what's the big suprise?"

"Well, first of all, I found an extra fidget cube in my mom's car on the way here." Handing it to Sunset, she mindlessly pressed the buttons as Twilight continued. "I have these for yo-" More lightning struck the earth and Sunset's mood went from almost relaxed to terrified faster than Rainbow.

Sunset dove into Twilight's arms once again. "They just make me so...messed up! I can't help it!"

"You can't, and nobody's blaming you. Just lay with me-" Twilight draped a warm and fluffy blanket around the shaken up girl to try and calm her nerves. "And we can get through this together." Sunset curled up on Twilight and began dozing off for the first time in a while. Surprisingly, Twilight didn't mind this and began to gently rock the girl that was currently half coddled in her arms. Twilight, admittingly, has never seen Sunset act this scared over anything like this before.

Sunset yawned. "Maybe that nap is needed."

Despite the long term embarassment, Sunset was happy to of found her saviour in the storm: and that saviour was happy to help.
