The Heavenly Touch - Chapter 1
Did Equestria once have a Queen?
Queen Heavenly Touch was the eldest sister to Princesses Celestia and Luna. Their parents were old and weak, even so for alicorns, and were unable to raise the moon and sun any longer. They soon faded away from existence.
The elegant blue-coated alicorn stood up high and majestically on her balcony. She placed her golden hooves firmly on the ground and gritted her teeth hard. Her horn started slowly glowing up as she hissed and cursed various words. The light from her horn began lighting up the air, showing the details of the sturdy castle walls. Her two filly sisters, neither with a cutie mark, stood to her sides. They gazed astonished at her. They'd seen her do this many times before but it never failed to amaze them. "Some day, sisters, you two shall be raising these great astral monuments..." Her sisters gazed up in awe at the beautiful sunset emerging. "Some day, you two will mature and so will your magic..." as Touch put more and more strength into her spell, she felt the strain. It slowly got harder and harder, worse and worse. "S-Some day-" collapsing from the huge exhaustion, she lay on the ground breathing heavily. The moon had been risen. Her white-coated sister laughed a bit, then the dark one followed on. "You're funny, Sissy!"
After a while of panting, Touch pushed herself back up onto her hooves. She gave a reassuring smile to the fillies. "Now both of you, off to bed. You shouldn't be up this late…" With a nod and a joyful hop, Celestia skipped back to her bedroom. But Luna hadn't moved. She was sat, gazing up at the moon. "Sissy, I love the night sky!"
Touch turned to her dark-coated sister with a smile. "That is wonderful, Luna! I am glad to hear that. Not many ponies take notice of how beautiful it is. Would you like to spread the stars, Luna?"
Luna's face suddenly lit up with joy. "Yes please, Sissy! Please oh please!" Touch nodded, almost as a signal for her to start. Even as a filly, an alicorn's magic abilities are strong as some experienced unicorns. The stars were spread in funny, childish patterns through the sky. Only spreading the stars gave no strain to Luna. "Thank you, Sissy!"
Touch nodded with a smile. "Anything for my darling sister, Luna."
Luna bounded off back to her bed. She pulled her blankets over her with her mouth. "I hope I get to raise the moon one day. I want to be just like my Sissy!"
Touch stared into the night sky. She examined the way Luna spread the stars. The shapes seemed imperfect, though still beautiful. Luna has a creative mind. Bless her, the little filly... After a long moments of calm, Touch trotted back into canterlot castle. She went into a bedroom and cleared her throat. "Blaze Heart, my darling? Are you awake?" A handsome red-coated unicorn was seen as a light was turned on. "Of course. I always watch your sunset. It is almost as beautiful as you." Blaze Heart grinned at Touch and she returned a blush. The two ponies were a couple and their love was deep.
"Blaze… I'm having a lot of difficulty lately…"
He scratched his hoof across his short black and red mane. "Tell me. What's up?"
“It is starting to become very tiring to raise the moon and the sun at the same time...”
Blaze grunted. "You should let me help."
"Mother and Father wouldn't be disappointed in me…"
"So? Your Mother and Father are gone, Touch."
Touch’s parents were a sensitive subject to her. “Don’t talk about them like that.”
"You will have to admit it some day, Touch."
“No, I won’t!” Sensitive subjects easily hurt Touch, especially one like this.
Blaze huffed. "You do."
Touch started to get upset. She was close to her parents, more than her sisters. "I don’t! Shut up about them!"
Blaze put a comforting hoof around the top of Touch's neck. "Please, Touch. It’s only hurting you. You need to."
Touch pushed his hoof away. "No!" a tear rolled down her face.
“Touch! Admit it!”
“FINE! Mother and Father are gone and they’re not coming back!” shouted Touch. Her loud expression quickly turned to tears. She buried her face in her hooves, crying dramatically.
Blaze nervously sighed. "Thank you.” He put two hooves around Touch as a hug. Touch hugged him back, blubbering over his shoulder. “You need to get some rest.”
Touch wiped her hoof across her watering eyes and followed Blaze into their bed. She lay her head against Blaze’s chest, almost as a pillow to her. “You are a big drama queen, Touch.”
Touch unwillingly grinned in front of her tears and put her hoof on Blaze’s mouth to quiet him. He rolled his eyes. She wrapped herself around him, her hooves tightly wrapped around his body. They both soon fell asleep.
