I was too busy running for my life from this hunk of scrap metal!” the end of the corridor rapidly approached them, a dead end in more than a single way “Well brilliant!” Protested Dark Cloud “No power cuts, no charges! What’s become of Equestria?!” the wall rapidly approached and they finally met it as they turned to see Freedom in the hood of this monstrosity which sped to a halt as Freedom began his boastful pre-killing speech “I always knew this day would come, you two are so incompetent after all” He Began as Star Whistle rolled her eyes, it looked like that habit was here to stay “And it’s only fitting you die by a genius such as myself... I will give you no last words, let the crushing speak for you” and with that he flicked a lever inside of the machines hood and an arm went speeding towards the pair of Unicorns that had been backed against a wall. And then there was a flash of light. Chain Hoof was still clueless as to his location all he knew for certain was that he was dead and that being dead was intolerably boring. He had realised after a few attempts of escaping from the world his mind had created to contain him within the depths of his own personal hell as the outside world became nothing more than a fast fading memory, his ability to speak also neutralised so he couldn’t cry out for help. Drip.... The noises outside of what he assumed was the coffin always were the same the eventual dripping of water from above hitting the soil and occasionally the crying of what he could only assume were relatives. Drip.... It must be raining outside, after all the water didn’t usually drip this fast. Suddenly there was feeling in his back hooves, a horrible stinging pain as the illusionary world he had been stuck in began to spin and the dripping became unbearably fast. A bell ringing in his mind went incredibly fast as if to warn his conscious that he was trying to escape again. A shot of electricity went straight through what he remembered to be his spinal cord as the ringing halted and his sight turned into a brilliant shade of violet. Was he alive again? The warehouse door began to close as Twister ran through the falling shelves and was being chased down by a pack of hungry dogs. He used magic to tighten the strap connecting a baseball bat to his waist as the warehouse door grew closer yet. The lights also began to fall as the door seemed like all hopes of escape had been diminished from him but there was still a spark, a will to get to the door before it closed, a shelf before him fell spilling boxes and packages everywhere to which he leapt a few feet into the air and kicked off of his own hooves to allow another jump over yet another falling shelf. The dogs at this point were in the middle of dodging the shelves just as Twister was. The door was now but a few metres from completely sealing him inside of the warehouse as he approached and slid beneath the door being greeted by what he believed to be the sunlight. He grinned massively before opening his eyes to reveal that the light wasn’t the sun but rather a large ray of light which pointed towards an area of dense cloud in the distance. Now Twister wasn’t one to jump to conclusions but he believed that this was actually a distress call, and he would probably be right in believing that. After all he did receive a few distress calls being one of the fastest running Unicorns in Equestria so he decided to head towards it without questioning it much. Weirder distress calls had been made after all. Elsewhere in Equestria a Pegasi by the name of Magnum sat in one of the roughest bars in Equestria, as he silently sipped at his cider the rest of the bar were throwing chairs at one another as an obviously new resident approached Magnum. Nopony approached Magnum, not unless they had a death wish. The pony in question tapped him on the shoulder “What do you think you’re doin’? This ‘eres a fightin’ bar!” Yelled the enraged pony, Magnum placed his mug onto the counter and rose from his chair laying a punch directly in the face of the pony in question. An audible crack echoed throughout the bar as the victim’s nose was broken and was sent crashing into the far wall “I care not for your fighting” Stated Magnum solemnly “It bores me greatly when the challengers are of no match” and with that he turned to sit back onto his chair but found himself landing on the ground in the middle of a town that looked similar to Appleoosa in some respects. How strange, he hadn’t had that much cider had he? In a whole other universe Diamond Iridescence was facing a realisation, the white star on her cutie mark was similar in appearance to the effect which appeared when a successful teleportation spell was cast. This could change everything, a hidden meaning behind her cutie mark could mean a breakthrough in the entire science behind the concept of cutie marks, she decided to perform a simple teleportation spell taking her from one end of Canterlot to the other a spell which even a studying Unicorn could perform. She began casting the spell and the familiar flash of white light surrounded her as she was thrown to where she believed the correct destination was. The light disappeared and she found herself atop a building in a town that looked similar to Appleloosa, how had she messed up that spell? Sky Gaze smiled in relief as he saw several bolts of lightning signalling the arrival of the allies he had called for and approached the nearest one to be greeted by a group of three ponies squabbling amongst one another and one seemed to have found the flamethrower “Well... it was never gonna be easy...” Sighed Sky Gaze, his smile disappearing, as he approached the group “I seemed to fail killing you that time... but now I have this!” Freedom exclaimed raising the flamethrower to Star Whistle as Sky Gaze pushed it away “Use that on the attackers” Uttered Sky Gaze “Listen I need to explain some things to you three...” he noticed that one had picked up a wrench and was now rummaging through the pile of weapons searching for something “Where’s the blueprints?” Inquired Dark Cloud as he did so “All of you just listen...” Sighed Sky Gaze as he felt the brute force of a shovel hit the back of his head sending him flying a few metres forwards “More of these talking ponies?” Sighed Rilik as he lowered the shovel “More to kill I guess...” “Are you a human?” Inquired Star Whistle immediately interested at the sight the other ponies that had been summoned arrived as Sky Gaze rose back to his hooves, rubbing the back of his head “Even more talking ponies?” Spat Rilik in disgust, he glanced at the weapon pile as he picked up a rocket launcher and shotgun “That was stupid of you...” he aimed at Twister as he did this, Sky Gaze’s eyes were completely white and glowing as he stood in the centre of the chaos “All of you!” His voice boomed, different to before it sounded more demanding and more like a figure of authority “I have summoned each of you here from your worlds to do a single thing for me, help in the defence of this town” Star Whistle shuddered as Magnum raised an eyebrow “A robotic army approaches the town as we speak and I have but 5 minutes to explain before they launch the attack” Sky Gaze continued as his voice got louder as he looked at Rilik “I couldn’t care less if you dislike ponies. I’ll send you back to where you came from after I’ve recruited your expertise at killing, you can fire at only enemies and if a shot is intended for a teammate then you will experience the damage rather than they would. This is how I intend to encourage teamwork, split off and form your own small teams if you want but just ensure that your enemies are the robots” Sky Gaze flung a sniper over his back as he turned away from the small crowd “Grab your choice of weapon, no squabbling, and get ready for an attack” Uttered Sky Gaze in his normal voice “I trust each of you will be ready when the robots come for you” and with that Sky Gaze left the crowd in a state of mild shock. Rilik stood and thought for a moment, this could mean an escape from this hell infested with talking equines. “I don’t care about the rest of you” Stated Rilik coldly “I’ll be near the front of the charge if you need me” and with that Rilik wandered towards the large locomotive equipped with a rocket launcher, shotgun and shovel “Freedom” Stated Dark Cloud “As insane as this may sound, working together may be the only way to escape this place... and I don’t intend upon staying here for very long” Dark Cloud strapped a automatic pistol, shotgun, destruction PDA and Construction PDA to his belt before levitating the wrench before him “I don’t like this idea” Sighed Star Whistle as she picked up an odd looking contraption with a medical cross sprayed onto the side along with a gun full of syringes and a rusted bone saw before turning to Dark Cloud “But I don’t have a choice do I?” “I’m only doing this so I can kill you all later” Solemnly stated Freedom as he equipped himself with a shotgun and fire axe whilst levitating a gas mask towards him “I’m the leader though, I am the expert at killing after all” and with that they also headed towards the locomotive Magnum sighed and turned to Twister “Teamwork?” Inquired Magnum blankly whilst he picked up a mini-gun and a shotgun, Twister nodded, grabbed a smaller shotgun and a pistol before he turned to Diamond Iridescence “You in?” Asked Twister happily “Why not?” Replied Diamond Irdescnece as she picked up a revolver, butterfly knife, an odd recording device labelled ‘Sapper’, a box labelled “Disguises” and a digital watch with no time presented on it but instead a green bar was flashing. “I’m Twister” Smiled Twister as he clipped the shotgun to his belt “Diamond Iridescence” Smiled Diamond as she examined the Sapper closely “Magnum” Grimly uttered Magnum as he wandered ahead of the rest towards the locomotive. And there was Chain Hoof alone but smiling, glad to be alive as he picked up two grenade launchers one of which looked peculiar and contained a few spiked bombs and lastly a smashed whiskey bottle as he trotted after the rest. The locomotives large steam paddler door slowly opened revealing a large army of robotic enemies which sat in rows of various classes as the machines behind them constructed more by the second “They look a lot like my robots...” Sulked Freedom as they began to march towards them “I wish they were... because then they’d be responsible for killing everyone here...” “We’re not dead yet” Assured Dark Cloud as he finished the construction of a turret “And we’re not going to die, ponies like us stay alive through many things” “Especially terrible giant robots that can’t crush properly” Smirked Star Whistle “The invasion has begun” Smiled Twister “This will be fun!” with that he bolted towards the locomotive “There’s no stopping some ponies” Chirped Diamond as she loaded her revolver “There’s no way we can fail” “If you insist” Replied Magnum lifting his mini-gun from the ground Rilik leant against a wall as he observed the door slowly opening “This is gonna to be easy” he sighed as he finished loading his rocket launcher Chain Hoof finished loading the grenade launchers and began to set down the spiked ones which he had dubbed ‘Sticky Bombs’ due to their incredibly sticky spikes which allowed them to be set practically anywhere and would be even better upon a robots head. Sky Gaze readied his sniper rifle as he leant on the wall of the old watch tower “We can’t be stopped, there’s a reason this team was summoned here” Smirked Sky as he looked down the sight of the rifle “We’re all remarkable fighters” Said the ponies all in time despite not knowing where one another were “And I’m a damn remarkable ODST” Muttered Rilik as he stood directly in the path of the robots “And I’m ready to kill, first ones in... last ones out” Teamwork beginsRilik observed as the robotic ponies began to run towards the mining encampment whilst he calmly loaded some shells into his shotgun, he had been trained to remain calm in situations which seemed as if the only plausible outcome would be an untimely demise. He loaded in the eighth shell and pumped the shotgun before checking his last weapon, a foldable shovel which seemed more likely to fly back and hit his helmet than to damage the robots any amount he followed the action of unfolding it in the quickest way he could without destroying the joint which allowed the shovels head to fold into the handle. “Yo what’s up” Stated a crackling robotic voice as the feeling of a baseball bat gently tapping his right arm was felt, he glanced to see a robotic earth pony holding onto a shining metallic baseball bat which he was about to swing at Rilik’s head. The motion occurred and Rilik placed one arm on the bat and the other on the connecting joint between the robots front hoof that held the bat as he slowly tore it away from the rest of the body before hitting its head with the baseball bat “Like I said...” Muttered Rilik “Easy” he dropped the bat and turned back to the oncoming horde of robots when there was a distant gunshot followed by a large robotic earth ponies body falling onto Rilik, lifeless and without a head. He turned behind him to see a glint of shining glass from the top of the towns watch tower no doubt where their host had set up his foothold. He took note of this as he turned back to the horde of robots once again, they had now reached the frontline where Dark Cloud and co. had established their defense. Dark Cloud smashed at the pile of scrap metal before him with the wrench he had picked up and began to doubt the blueprints. Star Whistle was stood without a clue of what to do with the weapon she had picked up and was looking at the faded labelling on the weapon as she began to observe the syringe gun she had picked up, Freedom was the only one of the group which was having any amount of success as he had previous experience with flamethrowers and other weapons – as did Rilik and Sky Gaze – and because of that was the only one managing to hold back the waves of robotic ponies as they attempted to get past the frontline. Rilik arrived at the frontline wielding his shotgun in one hand and shovel in the other as he kicked a rock towards the scrap metal which Dark Cloud was hitting so frantically, the rock made impact with the heap and caused it to spin and transform into a turret looking object which immediately made a beeping sound and began firing large bullets, armour piercing Rilik believed, and the oncoming robots began to drop like flies. Star Whistle took another look at the weapon before deciding that it would be fired from the large handle atop the weapon which needed to be pulled back to allow something to happen, she pointed the barrel at Freedom so she would have nothing to lose and pulled the handle back causing a red holographic line to flow into Freedom as a few wounds began to close rapidly. Freedom gave Star Whistle an odd look and attempted to say ‘thank you’ but couldn’t bring himself to say it and instead returned to burning the robots, Dark Cloud rummaged through the small satchel of blueprints and produced something that looked similar to a soda machine in his opinion. Rilik fired a rocket into the crowd of robots sending them flying in all directions and many limbs to hit walls and other robots as he swung his shovel into the head of another crowd of robots and all fell quiet on the frontlines. But there was something much more dangerous occurring behind the frontlines. Magnum span the minigun barrel, it appeared as though the robots had decided upon two entry points to distract the main fighting force from the actual danger. The robots that had entered the second way were mainly robots that appeared to have the ability to transform their appearance so they could look like members of the team, in short spies. As well as snipers and some robots that wore helmets which covered their eyes from view completely, Diamond Iridescence was in the centre of the action as she fought off an enemy spy who had blocked her magic from use by using a similar item to her Sapper but was inbuilt into the robot and effected the area around it. She drew her butterfly knife as she blocked an oncoming slash, the impact was really quite strong and caused her to be forced back a small amount. She immediately drew back her knife causing the robot to fall forward and swung her knife down attempting to stab it in the back, just as the knife was about to make impact the knife was shot from her hoof by a sniper stood but a few meters away. So now it was two on one, but that didn’t matter at all. Diamond drew her revolver, pointed it at the sniper and shot causing its head to roll from its metal spine and onto the floor, the spy however cut through the barrel of the revolver after the first shot preventing her from using it any further in this fight. She glanced quickly down to the butterfly knife that had been shot from her hooves, it lay but a few meters away from her but was behind her current target. She glanced over her shoulder at Magnum to see he was busy fending off the seemingly infinite waves of the helmeted robots that appeared from seemingly nowhere, so she would have to beat this robot on her own without any magic and without a weapon. About as fair as things had been today at any rate. She span around and landed a kick into the robots face sending it tumbling back a short distance, but not enough for it to be behind the knife much to her annoyance, the spy took a moment to seemingly recalibrate as it began to make a whirring noise which made Diamond feel extremely uncomfortable and uneasy. Suddenly the robot sprouted a horn as well as wings, this couldn’t be good for her at all. “Diamond, I’ll be with you in a moment” Grimly stated Magnum as he continued to mow down the robots before him “Take your time” Replied Diamond “This could be interesting” she sighed as she attempted to think of a clever one liner but was rudely interrupted by the robot which was now an Alicorn lifting its knife and raising its wings ready for an attack. With full force it pushed off of its hind legs and flapped its metallic wings with the knife pointed at Diamond, she closed her eyes and prepared for a sharp pain but instead heard the sound of clanging metal. “I leave for a few minutes and this happens? Man this is more lively than the frontlines for sure” Happily stated a voice. Diamond opened her eyes to see Twister stood before her with the spies knife lodged into the metal baseball bat he had picked up earlier “You gonna get your knife, Diamond?” Diamond took a moment to understand what was going on and scurried to her butterfly knife as Twister placed his shotgun to the spies head and pulled the trigger causing a shower of nuts and bolts to scatter onto the floor. Diamond sighed in relief as she felt her magic being restored but this was short lived as another wave was approaching from behind Magnum. Attempting to fix her revolver whilst Twister attempted to dislodge the knife from his bat they believed they were surely to be killed but instead fate smiled upon them in the form of highly explosive sticky bombs detonating at the feet of the robots. Chain Hoof wandered through the shower debris with a large grin on his face and Twister looked at him completely in awe of what had just happened, Chain swung the sticky bomb launcher onto his back and produced a glass bottle which he smashed around the head of a slightly alive robot causing it to fall to the ground without a chance of survival “Now that’s what I call an explosive entry!” Chirped Diamond, happy to get a one liner in before anypony else could speak, Twister sighed and returned to tugging the knife from his bat as Chain Hoof approached the crowd of three “Where’d you learn that?” Asked Twister as he finally succeeded, Chain Hoof thought for a moment and gestured to the large bandage across his stomach “A little help would be nice” Interrupted Magnum as his minigun took the last of the bullets and began to make only clicking noises. The other three turned to the horde of helmeted robots before nodding and returning to the onslaught. Sky Gaze inhaled deeply as he aimed carefully at the largest robot in the oncoming horde, behind him was a half empty cup of cider and several empty jars “Easy...” Stated Sky under his breath “Line up the shot...” his ear twitched as he heard a noise from behind him. Quickly he swung his sniper back into the face of his attacker before grabbing the large knife he had on the box next to him and slashed down onto the spy robot which had just attempted to kill him “What?” Muttered Sky “How could they have got this far back...” he turned back to his rifle and lazily pulled the trigger causing the robot to fall backwards onto a large amount of other robots, completely crushing them. He used the scope to look around the area “They’re in groups of four now... but still not working together completely...” Muttered Sky “We need to work together for this...” Authors Note: Sorry about using Bleach music, I intend to keep it around TF2 music but I was listening to those songs while I wrote the fight scene and the apperance of Chain Hoof. Hopefully I'll only use Bleach music or any other music if I REALLY need to Wave Upon WaveRilik ran backwards whilst firing a barrage of rockets at the next oncoming horde consisting of mainly robots with flamethrowers which admittedly worried the others a significant amount but they would have to fight through their fears to defeat this horde. Dark Cloud hammered at the automatic gun as it fired off a few missiles accompanied by a wave of high calibre bullets which pierced through the robots metal armour. “Right flank!” Yelled Rilik as he began to reload the launcher, they’re attention turned directly to the right as the robots made their next advance from there where Freedom stood with the flamethrower and the mental preparation to fight the oncoming horde by himself. The first few leapt over him and were met by a rough blast of air which sent them soaring back a few metres before they were completely burnt to a crisp. Rilik nodded as he considered the right flank to be in safe hands and returned to firing barrages of rockets at the frontal wave. “Moving up!” Beckoned Dark Cloud as he grabbed hold of the sentry and blindly ran towards the centre of the street they stood in before tossing it down and resuming the violent hammering to try and benefit the gun. He produced another blueprint with his spare hoof and looked it over before emptying a satchel full of scrap metal onto the floor and began to hammer at that which produced a large red box of sorts which emitted a red ray similar to that of Star Whistle’s healing gun she had began to use on Freedom, there was a dial which had no numbers but instead contained the letters ‘E’ and ‘F’ at either end. As the dial flicked up it quickly flicked back down as more scrap metal appeared inside of the satchel Dark Cloud had just emptied, so this was effectively a dispenser in Dark Cloud’s eyes. Meanwhile Star Whistle was assisting Rilik in his assault against the front waves of robots, her healing gun recoiled a moment before discharging some red electricity at the front as the many unlit lights now lit up and glowed faintly. “What’s happening?” Yelled Rilik as he glanced over his shoulder to Star Whistle “I don’t know! The entire gun is glowing!” Replied Star Whistle as she looked over the weapon “There’s a small switch on the side, should I try that?” “Might as well!” Replied Rilik as the ground near him was hit by a rocket as a wave of soldier robots joined in the charge, she flicked the switch and the guns ray became a darker shade of red and Rilik was coated in a red colour completely removing the dark colours of his armour and the light reflection of his helmets visor, the oncoming rockets and bullets bounced off of Rilik as he marched forwards. “I’m invincible!” He laughed manically over the sounds of the many explosions as he greatly thinned the number of robots charging towards them. “I wouldn’t count on it lasting forever, the dial on the side is going down quite quickly!” Replied Star Whistle as the red covering began to flicker before disappearing completely, the smoke rising from the craters began to fade and revealed that there were no more robots heading their way once more. “That was close...” Muttered Rilik as he sat down in the middle of the street and looked at his rocket launcher “More annoying than the covenant...” Sky Gaze looked through the scope of his rifle and observed as the buildings in the encampment began to be destroyed by a few collector robots, by the looks of things the tank had already began to run out of materials to manufacture the robots with and were resorting to tearing apart the landscape around the encampment for additional materials. “Dammit...” Muttered Sky Gaze as he watched, he knew that firing his rifle did about as much as throwing stones at a magical barrier did to those robots after he had tried to stop them the first time. He tore himself away from his rifle and picked up the sub machine gun he had placed next to his knife and also grabbed attached his knife to his belt before clambering down the staircase he had came up about an hour ago. He pushed open the broken wooden door and began his march towards the four that had stuck further back than Dark Cloud and the others. Magnum fired off a heap of rounds into the support robots before his minigun overheated and he was forced to drop it the floor and punch it a few times for good measure, Twister leapt over Magnum and smashed a robots head into pieces before landing a kick on another robot which sent it spinning into a wall before exploding and spraying bolts into the air. “Where’s diamond?” Yelled Twister to Magnum who had just picked his minigun back off the floor and resumed his unstoppable firing into the crowds of robots “No idea” He replied blankly “Keep an eye out” Chain Hoof launched himself over both of them using his sticky bombs and landed atop a building from which he launched a barrage of grenades to hold off the main robots of the wave. Diamond was sneaking around behind the wave completely invisible as she manipulated the light rays which made her visible to the naked eye. She approached the most dangerous appearing robot before plunging the knife she held deep into its back. “There she is!” Yelled Twister as he leapt over the crowd of robots who all turned to face her after this outburst from Twister “What a twist...” Muttered Diamond as she drew her revolver and prepared to fight the oncoming horde of robots. Suddenly a grenade landed in the centre of all of the robots as they glanced to the glowing object and realised that they were about to be destroyed. “Aw sh...” Exclaimed all the robots before being violently torn apart by the grenade “That was close” Sighed Diamond as she drew her knife again “Thanks Chain!” Chain Hoof smiled and nodded happily before leaping down from the rooftop. “Isn’t that our host?” Inquired Magnum as he ignored the others and was facing the opposite direction, the others squinted and saw a silhouette through the disturbed sand that had been flung about in the grenades explosion. “It is...” Stated Twister “And he doesn’t look like he has good news either...” TANK!Freedom placed his flamethrower down as the last of the robots fell and there was a strange spell of silence, the carrier tank had stopped making robots by the looks of things and everything was quiet for the first time since they had arrived. “Is that the last of them?” Inquired Star Whistle as she stopped using her healing gun “Seems like it” Replied Freedom as he surveyed the area once more “Hey guys...” Began Rilik “Isn’t that the rest of our team?” behind them a crowd of five was walking towards them, one of which was bouncing around excitedly with a bat in his hooves. The leader was their host and was looking particularly grim as he approached. “What’s up?” Inquired Dark Cloud “That was the last of them, right?” the words hung about for a while before Sky Gaze made an answer. “I’ve seen what they’ve been making all this time, and it isn’t more robots” Stated Sky Gaze grimly as he pointed his machine gun at a wooden barricade which had a few rails going into it “What is it?” Inquired Star Whistle, she looked suspiciously at the barricade “Some kind of explosive?” Magnum followed suit and pointed his minigun at the barricade whilst the conversation progressed “They’ve been destroying buildings while we were fighting, not because they wanted to make robots...” Resumed Sky Gaze “They were making something much bigger” Chain Hoof planted a few sticky bombs outside of the barricade before retreating to what he believed to be a reasonable distance “Out with it!” Spat Freedom as he grasped his flamethrower “They were making...” Began Sky Gaze, Diamond produced the sapper and hid around a corner nearer to the barricade. “Just tell us what the hell it is you overdramatic equine” Pouted Rilik, suddenly the ground shook and the barricade was consumed in a wall of smoke before a large red light pierced through it “They were making that...” stated Sky Gaze as the ponies unleashed their attack on the smoke cloud “A smoke cloud?” stated Dark Cloud as he began to chuckle but was interrupted by a large blue box placed upon two tank tracks emerge from the cloud “Oh... cra...” he was interrupted by Twister "TAAAAAAAAANK!" He yelled excitedly before jumping at it Magnum cursed as his minigun overheated a second time and the seemingly unstoppable tank had reached the end of the first street “Sap it!” Yelled Star Whistle over the noises “Sapper is already on!” Screamed Diamond back as she unloaded another six shots from her revolver into the tank “Fire some rockets at it Rilik!” Yelled Twister as he frantically hit the top of the tank with his bat “Don’t tell me what to do when you’re the one hitting it with a god-damned bat!” Boomed Rilik back as he quickly reloaded his rocket launcher “If anything you should be blaming Freedom for not using his flamethrower properly!” “I am using it properly you dunce!” Screeched Freedom back as he burnt the front of the tank whilst walking backwards “It’s that damned Sky Gaze that’s...” “All of you shut up!” A deep and unfamiliar voice boomed causing all to fall silent “Quit your bickering and just shoot the damned thing!” Diamond turned to discover that it was Chain Hoof who had just yelled that “So you’ve decided to join us in this thrilling world of conversation then?” Smiled Diamond as she hastily reloaded her revolver, Chain Hoof nodded and Diamond sighed “Or not...” a barrage of grenades flew over the groups heads and hit the tank which sent it back a small amount. The tank turned the final corner and went down the hill towards the hatch placed in the centre of the encampment “Give it all you’ve got, if this destroys that hatch we’re done for!” Yelled Sky Gaze over the sound of gunfire, Dark Cloud threw his sentry in the path of the tank as it fired off a barrage of missiles and bullets before being crushed by the tank completely. He drew his shotgun and fired multiple rounds at the tank as the smoke which had been coming from its vent increased and became thicker, it was almost destroyed. It just needed that little push more to do the job... Dark Cloud drew his pistol as well and fired both weapons at the same time, the others soon followed this idea and the tanks armour started to fall off. “It’s almost to the hatch!” Yelled Diamond as she stabbed the metal plating violently “It just needs a little more!” the group fired each one of their guns into the tank as a missile rose from the top of the tank, the group ran their separate ways to escape the blast that would occur at any second now. “Where’s Sky Gaze gone?!” Yelled Rilik over the chaos Sky Gaze broke into full sprint up the stairs and grabbed his sniper rifle, he looked down the sights quickly and took aim at the tip of the missile. “This is gonna be to close...” He muttered before he pulled the trigger The bullet flew from the rusted metal barrel of the sniper rifle and out into the mining encampment, it spun around as it flew towards its target. Over the piles of dead robots, over the fences and buildings around it and finally plunged into the tip of the missile, everything was still for a moment as if the world was a picture before the missile exploded sending shrapnel everywhere and the hatch to be badly damaged in the process. Rilik looked to the tower where Sky had taken the shot from to be greeted by a glint from the scope of Sky’s sniper rifle. “That was to close...” Muttered Rilik “We’re almost on our last legs...” “Look!” Yelled Star Whistle as she pointed at the carrier tank where the robots had came from “There are robots headed our way, and they look better equipped than the others...” Dark Cloud dropped some scrap metal down and hit it with the wrench at an extremely fast pace “We’ll hold out here until they run out of robots...” Stated Dark Cloud “It’s all or nothing now, we have to work as a team” Magnum sighed and looked around the opening at his team before holding his hoof out. “Everypony in?” Stated Magnum as the others placed their hooves over his “I feel somewhat left out...” Jested Rilik as he placed his hand atop the group of hooves “But hell, we’re all going home after this aren’t we?” the ponies and one human raised their hooves and hand to the sky and began setting up their defenses. Team BuildingRilik sat atop one of the remaining buildings and observed the robots as they began to run towards the hatch, Twister appeared from nowhere next to him and rested his bat on the back of his neck before speaking. “You seem really obsessed with getting home” Twister happily observed “I’ve been trapped in this world for more time than I’d care to imagine” Retorted Rilik as his visor stared onwards into the setting sun, Twister turned to him and watched as the sun caught the visor and glinted in an oddly picturesque way. “You must really miss home” Replied Twister as he adjusted his gaze to the setting sun as well “I’d miss it too” Twister closed his eyes and thought back upon his life before he was interrupted by the sound of Rilik speaking. “It’s not just that... a friend of mine was killed in this world, and I intend to get my revenge at some point” He replied in a somewhat angered tone “After this is all done I’d watch yourself, you could be the next I kill” Twister opened his eyes and looked over Rilik who was now stood up and loading his shotgun. “Violence rarely solves anything” He stated before he leapt down from the building and into the wave of robots that approached. “I don’t want it to solve anything” Thought Rilik aloud “It’s just damn fun to kill” he pumped the shotgun and leapt down from the roof and joined Twister. Magnum placed his minigun on the ground as he cursed the invention for having such an obnoxious habit of overheating at a vital moment, Dark Cloud managed to overhear this and stepped towards Magnum. “I could help you with that” Stated Dark Cloud as he raised an eyebrow, the minigun seemed to be in a rather primitive form and it could do with some much needed upgrading as it was so the invitation of help from the engineer of the team was more than a life saver for Magnum. “That would be helpful” Stated Magnum in his monotone voice “I’ll be but a moment” Smiled Dark Cloud as he began hitting the weapon with the wrench he had used to build everything else with. Chain Hoof was sat polishing the barrel of his grenade launcher as he re-evaluated his original outlook of living, it was a lot nicer than he had remembered and for certain a lot more comfortable than being stuck in a coffin under the ground. He looked up and saw the medic of the team wandering towards him, she gave a sheepish smile as she approached and sat next to him. “You don’t seem to talk to many ponies” Star Whistle inquired in a hushed tone “Why?” Chain Hoof rolled his eyes, this question was bound to come up at some point and he hated answering the question more and more. “I’m dead” He simply stated in a soothing voice as he resumed the polishing of the launcher. “What do you mean?” Inquired Star Whistle in a confused tone “I was dead before I came here, I feel as though the dead should remain silent” Stated Chain as he put down his launcher and looked to the clouds. “You don’t have to, your input could be extremely beneficial to us all” Smiled Star Whistle “That way we can get this over with quickly and all go home” “I don’t want to return home to that dark, desolate fate of mine” Replied Chain grimly as he got up “Now, we should really be preparing, should we not?” he offered Star Whistle a helping hoof to get up and he turned to face the noises of Rilik and Twister fighting. Star Whistle looked at him for a moment before deciding now she knew this pony a little better – even if she only knew so much about him it would surely be the start to a new friendship. Freedom leant against the wooden wall of a remaining building as he looked over a small silver locket that had been hidden using an invisibility spell, the locket was a love heart shape and inside was a picture of a mare. Diamond had been watching Freedom for some time now and was starting to creep her out more than a little bit. “Don’t dwell on the locket” Smiled Diamond as she broke the awkward silence between the two, Freedom looked up with pure spite in his eyes. “Leave me be” He stated, his voice brimming with anger and pain “I’ll do my job when the robots come” Diamond rose her eyebrow at this. “I’m not worried about the robots getting here” She replied “I’m worried that you’ll stop doing your job properly if you keep locking your mind on that locket” Freedom looked up at Diamond. “I’ll do my job to a better standard than anypony else on this team” Spat Freedom as he tucked the locket away “None of you know what I’ve been through or what I face” he turned away from Diamond and began to walk away. “Well then, what have you been through?” Inquired Diamond, Freedom stopped in his tracks as the shock of being asked this caught up with him. “More than I’d care to tell you” Replied Freedom before he resumed a steady stroll away from Diamond “More than you could probably imagine, to” Twister was backed into a corner by the ranks of the various robots running towards him they raised their metallic bats as the scene played in slow motion, the bat was about to make contact with Twister’s head but was halted when Rilik unloaded a shotgun round into the robots heads and kicked their arms away. “I’m not watching another death, don’t back yourself into a corner like that” Firmly stated Rilik as his attention returned to the attackers that charged towards the pair. “Thanks...” Replied Twister as he picked up his bat and leapt over Rilik’s head. “Damn equines...” Muttered Rilik before firing a rocket into the crowd of robots. The Beginning of the EndFreedom approached the oncoming horde with no fear or hesitation as he raised his flamethrower, after he had looked at the locket his determination and courage had returned to him after his short period of doubt and fear. The robots were falling incredibly fast to Freedoms flamethrower which immediately struck him as odd, why were they falling so quickly? Could it be that the end was drawing near on this battle? “Watch out!” Yelled Diamond from next to him as she uncloaked and quickly stabbed one of the scouts which had managed to get past Freedom’s wall of fire “You shouldn’t be out here on your own, you should know that we have to work as a team” the two of them slowly turned back to back as the hordes of robots continued to seep from the area around them. “Thanks for the save, but I can handle myself” Spat Freedom as he resumed burning the robots around him “I only want to stay alive” “Then the best way to stay alive is to fight together, and the best way to fight together is back to back” Replied Diamond as she managed to fire off a good few rounds from her revolver “You’re not the only one that wants to stay alive here” “For different reasons” Barked Freedom back as a few robots fell to the intense wall of flame. “I only want to stay alive so I can kill all of you after” he drew his fire axe from his back and crushed a group of robots beneath it, Diamond pulled her sapper out and tossed it into the crowd causing them to malfunction and collapse. “I need to stay alive if you want to kill me” Stated Diamond as she shot a few revolver rounds over the top of Freedom’s head “So let’s work together, not to stay alive but to kill each other later” they both grinned wildly. “I like your thinking” Grinned Freedom “You’re on!” they stood in a more alert back to back position and resumed the hail of gunfire and flamethrower fire into the seemingly endless horde. Magnum slowly wandered up the road as a tumbleweed blew past his legs. He carried with him the modified minigun as he thought about the ponies he had met today and his life in general. “These ponies, they’ve accepted me” Grunted Magnum “They’ve helped me through thick and thin” Memories of the teamwork they had all shared went through his mind at the precise moment and his pace began to increase. “I don’t intend to be the loose end of this team” Grinned Magnum as he broke into full sprint “I’ll kill every one of these robots so my friends don’t have to” “That’s good” Smiled Dark Cloud as he appeared next to magnum, running backwards beside him “That kind of positive thinking works wonders for the mind, also for your team” he had a red box in front of his face as he ran which may have explained why he was running backwards in the first place. “So what have you got there?” Inquired Magnum as he turned the corner and stood before a street full of robots. “Something that’ll help us in this kind of situation” Grinned Dark Cloud wildly “You ready?” “You know it” Replied Magnum as he hoisted his minigun and aimed at the crowd “Fire!” a hail of gunfire from the minigun struck the robots as Dark Cloud swung the box upside down and placed two sentries either side of Magnum to prevent the horde from reaching him. “Only issue now is ammo, and I can sort that with a simple dispenser” Cheered Dark Cloud over the sound of gunfire and crashing of dead robots “Let’s do this” Dark Cloud spilt the contents of the scrap metal satchel to the ground and began hammering at it whilst a dispenser began to shape up behind Magnum. Chain Hoof inhaled deeply as Star Whistle used the healing gun on him. “You ready for this?” Smiled Star Whistle as she looked at the swarm of robots that approached them. “You bet I am” Grinned Chain Hoof as he raised his grenade launcher “Let’s do this Star Whistle, not because we want to go home... but because it’s damn fun” he leapt towards the enemy launching grenades as he did so and was followed by a very nervous Star Whistle who struggled to keep up with the reckless ponies charge. Crowds at a time fell to the continuous grenade barrage which struck them before they could even see what was coming. “Do you have the feeling this is too easy?” Inquired Star Whistle nervously as she ducked to avoid an oncoming chunk of shrapnel “Or are we just getting better at this?” “I think it’s too easy...” Began Chain Hoof only to be interrupted by a wall being knocked down to reveal the single most largest robot they had seen during the entire battle. And it had a minigun. Twister and Rilik watched as the huge robot towered over every structure in sight as practically all the robots around them stopped in their tracks and began to disintegrate before the dust flew towards the robot repairing every dent it had in its metal. “What in Harvests name is happening...” Muttered Rilik in awe of the scene before him “I don’t know where in Equestria that is, but I’ve gotta agree this is one helluva scene” Interrupted Twister as he dropped his bat. “We’re gonna have to stop that aren’t we?” Stated Rilik, dumbstruck “Probably...” Replied Twister, there were hoofsteps from beside them and Magnum with Dark Cloud approached. “You guys seein’ this to?” Inquired Magnum as he looked at the giant robot “Or have I had to much cider again?” “We better take that thing down, and fast” Replied Rilik, completely ignoring Magnum’s question “I have the feeling this is gonna be more frustrating than that tank” and with that an alarm sounded and Sky Gaze’s voice was broadcasted through an old speaker system. “Tank has entered the area!” Yelled Sky Gaze as the sound of tank tracks echoed throughout the entire mining encampment “Half go for the robot, half for the tank. We’re gonna have to prioritise who goes where though, that could make or break us” “Dark Cloud, Twister” Stated Rilik “You two go for the robot. That would slow him down, Magnum and I will go after the tank to destroy it quickly and then help you with the robots” Dark Cloud and Twister nodded before breaking into a sprint towards the robot. “You ready to destroy this tank?” Asked Magnum eagerly “I’m more than ready” Replied Rilik as he loaded multiple rockets into the barrel of the launcher “I’ll land constant barrages on it, you maintain a steady flow of bullets into it” Magnum nodded and they both ran towards the tank. Freedom and Chain Hoof began their sprint towards the tank. “You have much experience in killing?” Asked Freedom as he hopped over a pile of dead robots. “Got an experience of being dead” Replied Chain as he attempted to close the gap between them “Not a very nice experience as it turns out” “I’d assume so” Chuckled Freedom as he slowed down for Chain to catch up “How do you think Star Whistle and Diamond will be back there?” “They’ll be fine” Assured Chain “They both know how to handle themselves in a battle extremely well” Meanwhile at the base of the robot Diamond had thrown a sapper towards it and also stabbed its foot quite a few times. “This thing isn’t dying!” Yelled Diamond angrily as her efforts were to no avail “What do I do?” the foot began to lift off the ground and hung above Star Whistle who had no idea it was there, it began to lower itself as Diamond barged Star Whistle out of the way of the foot but was unable to escape from the approaching foot, she was ready to accept her fate at the foot of this metal monstrosity. She forced her eyes closed as her life began to flash before them. At first there was nothing, but then there was the sound of metal making contact with something and Diamond quickly glanced upwards to see Twister standing on two legs holding his bat up to the foot of the robot and stopping it from moving. “What in Equestria... how is that even possible....” Murmured Diamond “’sup” Grinned Twister “Got Dark Cloud to fill my bat with Titanium, won’t break that easy anymore” he pushed the bat upwards and threw the robot off of balance. “I told you it’d work!” Yelled Dark Cloud’s voice as he trotted towards the scene, a satchel swinging by his side as he did so “How’s that metal hoof working out for you as well?” “Metal...” muttered Diamond as she looked at Twister “What?” Smiled Twister “Good for punching...” The Finale (Part 1)“And punching...” Stated Twister “Is just what I’m gonna do!” he swung his metal hoof forward as the tip sharpened and pierced the robots foot – but this was by no means the end of this display, whilst Twisters hoof had pierced the metal of the robots foot a sudden surge of unseen magic to coarse through the spike and flood into the giant robot which caused it to freeze in place. “I see the magic worked!” Exclaimed Dark Cloud excitedly from a safe distance “That’ll hold it for a few minutes, sadly we could only fit one charge in though” Twister pulled his spiked metal hoof from the robots foot as it re-shaped back to a normal hoof. “So this is good to keep using? The spike I mean” Inquired Twister curiously as he looked over the metal. “Should be alright as long as you don’t break it, in that case you’ll have one hell of a time finding a replacement” Grinned Dark Cloud as he threw his empty metal satchel to the floor “That bat and hoof better prove worthy of wasting all that metal” Dark Cloud pulled a shotgun from his back and pumped it. “Wait... so what did you do with his actual hoof?” Inquired Diamond as she exited her trance of confusion “Binned it” Replied Dark Cloud nonchalantly “What did you expect us to do?” “Get rid of it properly!” Screamed Star Whistle “Oh, quit whining” Stated Dark Cloud as he turned back to the giant robot “We have to kill that thing before we do anything” he began to hail shotgun rounds into its leg. “I’m gettin’ the top of it!” Yelled Twister as he ran and punched the ground which caused him to be propelled upwards an incredible distance (A distance that was roughly equal to the robots shoulders) “Where’d Chain Hoof go by the way?” Asked Diamond as she loaded her revolver “For a pony who’s name would suggest that he’d stay in one place he sure does stray a lot” “He ran towards the tank and left me here” Replied Star Whistle as she shot a barrage of needles at the robot “Where’d Freedom go?” “He went running towards the tank as well, I’d guess that Freedom and Chain must have met up on their travels” Replied Diamond as she fired the revolver at the robot. Rilik and Magnum ran frantically towards the tank as the sound of explosions became louder. “I might have to leave you in my dust” Stated Rilik as he raised his launcher “That okay with you?” “Go ahead, we’re gonna kill this tank either way” Replied Magnum as he was in the middle of slowed running because of the minigun he grasped, Rilik nodded and aimed his rocket launcher to the ground behind him. “I’ll meet you at the tank” Yelled Rilik as the explosions became louder “Don’t take your time” he shot a rocket at his feet and sent himself flying into the air at a tremendous speed which hurtled him towards the sounds of the fight against the tank. “Wait a second...” muttered Rilik “Why are there so many explosions when there’s only one demo pony?” he spun in mid air and looked at where he was headed to see that the tank they were fighting was very different than what he thought it would be. This one had guns. Chain Hoof and Freedom leant against the flimsy wooden barricades they had as makeshift cover to avoid the hail of gunfire the tank was spraying at them, bullets flew through every angle of the barricades and barely missed the two as they attempted to form a plan. “Any ideas yet?” yelled Freedom over the gunfire “Or are we just winging it?” “Well... the idea of firing grenades at it from cover didn’t work!” Replied Chain “So I guess we are just winging it... wait a second...” Chain squinted at the sky above him as a shadow passed over the two, a shadow which they had never seen before. “That’s no pony...” Muttered Freedom as Rilik hurtled into the tank itself and knocked a few guns from its front “That’s an idiot...” Rilik combat rolled to the front of the tank before realising there were still many guns he had failed to knock off. “Aw damnit...” Muttered Rilik as he leapt over the wooden barricades the two ponies hid behind “So this is the situation you’ve been in for... how long?” “About five minutes...” Replied Chain shamefully “We’ve been forced to move back a few times and we can barely get a shot off on it...” “Speaking of moving back, the tanks pretty much on top of our cover” yelled Freedom as he began to scurry back towards the next set of poorly constructed barricades “I’d move back if I were you!” Rilik fired a rocket at the tank and ran towards the cover, the rocket hit and did seemingly no damage. “How strong is this thing?” Yelled Rilik as the gunfire continued its annoying loud chime “Too strong!” Boomed Chain as he launched a few grenades at it and at that point Magnum swung around the corner and hailed the tank with gunfire. “Gonna need some fire here, Freedom” Stated Magnum calmly as he faced the tank. Twister had grown bored of hitting the robot and had persisted that Dark Cloud “Do something cool” to his metal hoof and that was all that Dark Cloud had been doing for the past few minutes. “Are you done yet?” Complained Twister “I wanna hit stuff...” “You asked for the upgrades, so keep quiet” Replied Dark Cloud, extremely annoyed. Star Whistle and Diamond had sat down and watched the process of the upgrade as it slowly progressed, the robot had been left unattended in its frozen state and the sound of explosions in the distance made them all assume that the tank was being handled. “So what are you actually doing?” Asked Star Whistle as the quiet became unbearable. “When the time comes you’ll be able to see” Replied Dark Cloud as he attached a few wires to the interior of Twisters hoof “Almost finished with this...” he attached a thin metal plate to the electronics he had placed in the hoof and used a screwdriver to fit the screws in place. “Sweet...” Muttered Twister “What does it do?” “Star Whistle, don’t use your invincibility charge on Twister until I say to. Alright?” Demanded Dark Cloud “Alright...” Sighed Star Whistle “If you’re gonna keep us all in suspense for this effect then I guess we’ll have to wait...” “Yep” Interrupted Twister “I bet it’ll be something like a spike again” as he said this the robot began to slowly move behind him as it recovered from its temporarily frozen state. “Well, we’ve best be getting on with this” Exclaimed Dark Cloud as he stood up and loaded his shotgun “The tank should be finished with soon enough and we’ll be able to kill this giant robot...” The tank had been almost completely annihilated by the three ponies and one human dealing with it. “Just a few more rounds!” Yelled Magnum as Rilik’s barrage of rockets made impact with the front of the tank causing its remaining weapons to fly off in all directions “Now go all out!” Freedom ran closer to the tank and resumed his wall of fire as the others continued their bombardment of the tank. “Any second now...” Yelled Freedom “I can tell...” as he finished that sentence the tank burst into a huge ball of flame and scrap which timed perfectly with the giant robot beginning to walk again. “No rest for the wicked I guess” Remarked Chain as he turned the other way and bolted towards the robot. “Some ponies...” Muttered Rilik as he leapt onto the roof of a building with the help of his rockets and followed Chain. “I have the terrible feeling we’re going to have to follow this thing rather than attack it” Stated Star Whistle as they stood underneath the robot. “Friends close, enemies closer” Replied Diamond as she trotted along happily with the giant robot “And we’ve got Twisters metal hoof if anything goes wrong” “Let’s hope so” Muttered Star Whistle as the robot continued its path. It had been around five minutes since the robot had resumed walking and was rapidly approaching the hatch. “Where are the others?!” Exclaimed Dark Cloud in utter frustration “The hatch is right there!” as if on cue the others arrived no more than a second after Dark Cloud had said this, but it seemed to be too late. The robots hoof opened and revealed a bomb inside of it which began to prepare itself, Dark Cloud cringed at the thought that his hastily made ‘Upgrades’ to Twisters hoof may have to be used after all. He shook his head in regret and turned to Star Whistle. “Use the charge!” Yelled Dark Cloud angrily to Star Whistle who immediately aimed at Twister and activated the readied charge. “What in Equestria is happening down there...” muttered Sky Gaze as he sipped some coffee from his cup and looked out of the tower towards the hatch “What in...” Twister had a sudden sensation surge through him, one he’d never felt before and hoped to never feel again. It was a mix of sorrow and adrenaline as well as a distinct amount of pain, his hoof raised itself and he found himself sitting down against his own will from the force. An unexplainable gust of wind blew out from his hoof and caused even buildings to collapse from the force. “What’s going on?!” Yelled Twister in confusion “It’s working!” Replied Dark Clouds voice. Twisters hoof began to open up and spread out into a large barrel which resembled a rocket launcher in appearance but looked as if it could fire nothing – he was of course proved wrong when the metal was surged with magic and seemed to be overloading. “What...” he muttered as the charge fired and a bright white light emitted from where the robot once stood “Is going on?!” The wall of colour eventually subsided and revealed an empty clearing, the robot had gone... “Dark Cloud? Diamond?” Yelled Twister as a building behind him collapsed as if attempting to break the silence. “Right here... that was glorious” Chuckled Dark Cloud as he appeared from under a pile of planks. You guys are awesome :) Skull The Finale (Part 2)The carrier tank had left soon after the destruction of the large robot and tank, the eight ponies and one human which had attempted to prevent the destruction of this mysterious town now stood where they had first met and were saying their farewells to one another. Rilik at first stood at a distance from the crowd of ponies awaiting his transport back to his own world. “Hey, Rilik” Smiled Twister as he approached Rilik “Great to meet ya buddy” Rilik turned and looked over the pony who had an unexplainably large grin on his face. “I’d expect you ponies to be sad to be leaving one another...” Replied Rilik “But, it’s been a minor pleasantry to make your acquaintance as well” “I’ll admit I was sad to leave at first, but then I realised....” Began Twister “I live in this world, so I’m going nowhere!” Rilik unexplainably laughed at this and hated himself for doing so. “So you going back to your family or something?” Inquired Rilik “I’m probably gonna be staying here for a while to help rebuild the town... Sky Gaze was trying to stop me but I’d rather help a pony than leave them to suffer a problem which was caused by something else” Replied Twister “I’ll be seeing you, Rilik” and with that Rilik trotted away towards the crowd of ponies. “Been a pleasure meeting you” Smiled Dark Cloud to Diamond “Though we didn’t talk much you seem like a nice enough pony” Diamond smiled back at Dark Cloud. “You to, maybe we’ll meet again under some slightly happier circumstances” Replied Diamond happily “Maybe” Grinned Dark Cloud back “But I’ve got to get away from Freedom first” and at that Freedom wandered past Dark Cloud and punched him on his side. “Not a chance” Chuckled Freedom as he wandered towards Twister, Diamond and Dark Cloud shook hooves and parted from one another. “So you got a home?” Inquired Magnum to Chain “I’ve got a grim fate awaiting me...” Replied Chain “But at least I was able to meet a ton of friendly ponies before I returned to it..” “Surely you could just ask to stay here?” Smiled Magnum as Chain formed a smile “You could stay with Sky Gaze, Twister and I” “That’d be great!” Chirped Chain as he leapt around in excitement “There’s so much I want to do in this world again” Magnum grinned wildly. “We’ll all do them together” Smiled Magnum “As a team!” Star Whistle sat with Sky Gaze as they discussed their life stories with one another, how Star Whistle had been trapped in a lab and met Dark Cloud and how Sky Gaze was once considered a fallen star but now lived a perfectly normal life. They envied one another for their adventures and friends. “Maybe we can all meet up again sometime...” Smiled Star Whistle as she looked into the sky above “Maybe...” Chuckled Sky Gaze “One day...” With the farewells finished the ponies were sent one by one back to where they came from, Magnum, Twister and Chain Hoof stayed with Sky Gaze to assist in the repairs of the town and Rilik was sent back to the universe of Equestria where he had been trapped before. PrologueIf you have not done so already please read the end part of the description (Both about music and other OC's) to avoid confusion c:) Sky Gaze smiled as he locked the door to the sheriff’s office, it was awfully nice of him to let Sky Gaze take the sunset watch and lock up after what had happened last time but that didn’t matter anyway the houses were in desperate need of repair anyway, just speeding up the process as he believed. The sky suddenly turned black and a collection of clouds blocked out the sun, the was odd for a start as the Pegasi had promised a nice day today, but then it got even more odd. There was the sound of a large locomotive moving through the dusty plains just out of town to which he decided it best to find a vantage point and look at what was headed his way and began a steady trot towards the watchtower on the border of town. The door opened lazily letting in a thin ray of much needed sunlight to the dusty interior of the tower consisting of a broken table complete with chair and half empty box of cider and the tower made creaking noises as it struggled to sustain the weight of but one pony carefully clambering towards the top and as he reached the top was greeted by the sight of trailing smoke on the horizon and an amazingly large vehicle with the front door of a paddle steamer was approaching his town, and with that he realised that he had seen no other pony on the way to the watch tower which was extremely odd as the town was but a mining encampment. “Attention Ridge Mining Co. this is a warning to say that you and your encampment full of soldiers is about to be raided” Echoed a robotic voice “Ridge Mining Co?” Muttered Sky “They packed up years ago... the mines haven’t been used at all recently...” “You have two hours to announce your surrender, no more but probably less” Resumed the voice “This can’t be happening... I didn’t drink before this at all so it can’t be a hallucination...” Sighed Sky “Why do these things always happen to me...” he thought for a while before finding a solution, he would protect his home with everything he had... and maybe just a little help from others. He piled the weapons available into the centre of the town and began to summon forth the heroes he would need to save this place... well so he thought. “Ridge Vs. Robot”
The Team AssemblesStar Whistle and Dark Cloud ran along the corridors of Neigh Science’s facility as a horrifying mechanical monstrosity followed “Did you set the charges?!” Yelled Dark Cloud as a robotic arm clamped down next to him taking a few mane hairs with it “Charges?” Screamed back Star Whistle “I’m didn’t! I was too busy running for my life from this hunk of scrap metal!” the end of the corridor rapidly approached them, a dead end in more than a single way “Well brilliant!” Protested Dark Cloud “No power cuts, no charges! What’s become of Equestria?!” the wall rapidly approached and they finally met it as they turned to see Freedom in the hood of this monstrosity which sped to a halt as Freedom began his boastful pre-killing speech “I always knew this day would come, you two are so incompetent after all” He Began as Star Whistle rolled her eyes, it looked like that habit was here to stay “And it’s only fitting you die by a genius such as myself... I will give you no last words, let the crushing speak for you” and with that he flicked a lever inside of the machines hood and an arm went speeding towards the pair of Unicorns that had been backed against a wall. And then there was a flash of light. Chain Hoof was still clueless as to his location all he knew for certain was that he was dead and that being dead was intolerably boring. He had realised after a few attempts of escaping from the world his mind had created to contain him within the depths of his own personal hell as the outside world became nothing more than a fast fading memory, his ability to speak also neutralised so he couldn’t cry out for help. Drip.... The noises outside of what he assumed was the coffin always were the same the eventual dripping of water from above hitting the soil and occasionally the crying of what he could only assume were relatives. Drip.... It must be raining outside, after all the water didn’t usually drip this fast. Suddenly there was feeling in his back hooves, a horrible stinging pain as the illusionary world he had been stuck in began to spin and the dripping became unbearably fast. A bell ringing in his mind went incredibly fast as if to warn his conscious that he was trying to escape again. A shot of electricity went straight through what he remembered to be his spinal cord as the ringing halted and his sight turned into a brilliant shade of violet. Was he alive again? The warehouse door began to close as Twister ran through the falling shelves and was being chased down by a pack of hungry dogs. He used magic to tighten the strap connecting a baseball bat to his waist as the warehouse door grew closer yet. The lights also began to fall as the door seemed like all hopes of escape had been diminished from him but there was still a spark, a will to get to the door before it closed, a shelf before him fell spilling boxes and packages everywhere to which he leapt a few feet into the air and kicked off of his own hooves to allow another jump over yet another falling shelf. The dogs at this point were in the middle of dodging the shelves just as Twister was. The door was now but a few metres from completely sealing him inside of the warehouse as he approached and slid beneath the door being greeted by what he believed to be the sunlight. He grinned massively before opening his eyes to reveal that the light wasn’t the sun but rather a large ray of light which pointed towards an area of dense cloud in the distance. Now Twister wasn’t one to jump to conclusions but he believed that this was actually a distress call, and he would probably be right in believing that. After all he did receive a few distress calls being one of the fastest running Unicorns in Equestria so he decided to head towards it without questioning it much. Weirder distress calls had been made after all. Elsewhere in Equestria a Pegasi by the name of Magnum sat in one of the roughest bars in Equestria, as he silently sipped at his cider the rest of the bar were throwing chairs at one another as an obviously new resident approached Magnum. Nopony approached Magnum, not unless they had a death wish. The pony in question tapped him on the shoulder “What do you think you’re doin’? This ‘eres a fightin’ bar!” Yelled the enraged pony, Magnum placed his mug onto the counter and rose from his chair laying a punch directly in the face of the pony in question. An audible crack echoed throughout the bar as the victim’s nose was broken and was sent crashing into the far wall “I care not for your fighting” Stated Magnum solemnly “It bores me greatly when the challengers are of no match” and with that he turned to sit back onto his chair but found himself landing on the ground in the middle of a town that looked similar to Appleoosa in some respects. How strange, he hadn’t had that much cider had he? In a whole other universe Diamond Iridescence was facing a realisation, the white star on her cutie mark was similar in appearance to the effect which appeared when a successful teleportation spell was cast. This could change everything, a hidden meaning behind her cutie mark could mean a breakthrough in the entire science behind the concept of cutie marks, she decided to perform a simple teleportation spell taking her from one end of Canterlot to the other a spell which even a studying Unicorn could perform. She began casting the spell and the familiar flash of white light surrounded her as she was thrown to where she believed the correct destination was. The light disappeared and she found herself atop a building in a town that looked similar to Appleloosa, how had she messed up that spell? Sky Gaze smiled in relief as he saw several bolts of lightning signalling the arrival of the allies he had called for and approached the nearest one to be greeted by a group of three ponies squabbling amongst one another and one seemed to have found the flamethrower “Well... it was never gonna be easy...” Sighed Sky Gaze, his smile disappearing, as he approached the group “I seemed to fail killing you that time... but now I have this!” Freedom exclaimed raising the flamethrower to Star Whistle as Sky Gaze pushed it away “Use that on the attackers” Uttered Sky Gaze “Listen I need to explain some things to you three...” he noticed that one had picked up a wrench and was now rummaging through the pile of weapons searching for something “Where’s the blueprints?” Inquired Dark Cloud as he did so “All of you just listen...” Sighed Sky Gaze as he felt the brute force of a shovel hit the back of his head sending him flying a few metres forwards “More of these talking ponies?” Sighed Rilik as he lowered the shovel “More to kill I guess...” “Are you a human?” Inquired Star Whistle immediately interested at the sight the other ponies that had been summoned arrived as Sky Gaze rose back to his hooves, rubbing the back of his head “Even more talking ponies?” Spat Rilik in disgust, he glanced at the weapon pile as he picked up a rocket launcher and shotgun “That was stupid of you...” he aimed at Twister as he did this, Sky Gaze’s eyes were completely white and glowing as he stood in the centre of the chaos “All of you!” His voice boomed, different to before it sounded more demanding and more like a figure of authority “I have summoned each of you here from your worlds to do a single thing for me, help in the defence of this town” Star Whistle shuddered as Magnum raised an eyebrow “A robotic army approaches the town as we speak and I have but 5 minutes to explain before they launch the attack” Sky Gaze continued as his voice got louder as he looked at Rilik “I couldn’t care less if you dislike ponies. I’ll send you back to where you came from after I’ve recruited your expertise at killing, you can fire at only enemies and if a shot is intended for a teammate then you will experience the damage rather than they would. This is how I intend to encourage teamwork, split off and form your own small teams if you want but just ensure that your enemies are the robots” Sky Gaze flung a sniper over his back as he turned away from the small crowd “Grab your choice of weapon, no squabbling, and get ready for an attack” Uttered Sky Gaze in his normal voice “I trust each of you will be ready when the robots come for you” and with that Sky Gaze left the crowd in a state of mild shock. Rilik stood and thought for a moment, this could mean an escape from this hell infested with talking equines. “I don’t care about the rest of you” Stated Rilik coldly “I’ll be near the front of the charge if you need me” and with that Rilik wandered towards the large locomotive equipped with a rocket launcher, shotgun and shovel “Freedom” Stated Dark Cloud “As insane as this may sound, working together may be the only way to escape this place... and I don’t intend upon staying here for very long” Dark Cloud strapped a automatic pistol, shotgun, destruction PDA and Construction PDA to his belt before levitating the wrench before him “I don’t like this idea” Sighed Star Whistle as she picked up an odd looking contraption with a medical cross sprayed onto the side along with a gun full of syringes and a rusted bone saw before turning to Dark Cloud “But I don’t have a choice do I?” “I’m only doing this so I can kill you all later” Solemnly stated Freedom as he equipped himself with a shotgun and fire axe whilst levitating a gas mask towards him “I’m the leader though, I am the expert at killing after all” and with that they also headed towards the locomotive Magnum sighed and turned to Twister “Teamwork?” Inquired Magnum blankly whilst he picked up a mini-gun and a shotgun, Twister nodded, grabbed a smaller shotgun and a pistol before he turned to Diamond Iridescence “You in?” Asked Twister happily “Why not?” Replied Diamond Irdescnece as she picked up a revolver, butterfly knife, an odd recording device labelled ‘Sapper’, a box labelled “Disguises” and a digital watch with no time presented on it but instead a green bar was flashing. “I’m Twister” Smiled Twister as he clipped the shotgun to his belt “Diamond Iridescence” Smiled Diamond as she examined the Sapper closely “Magnum” Grimly uttered Magnum as he wandered ahead of the rest towards the locomotive. And there was Chain Hoof alone but smiling, glad to be alive as he picked up two grenade launchers one of which looked peculiar and contained a few spiked bombs and lastly a smashed whiskey bottle as he trotted after the rest. The locomotives large steam paddler door slowly opened revealing a large army of robotic enemies which sat in rows of various classes as the machines behind them constructed more by the second “They look a lot like my robots...” Sulked Freedom as they began to march towards them “I wish they were... because then they’d be responsible for killing everyone here...” “We’re not dead yet” Assured Dark Cloud as he finished the construction of a turret “And we’re not going to die, ponies like us stay alive through many things” “Especially terrible giant robots that can’t crush properly” Smirked Star Whistle “The invasion has begun” Smiled Twister “This will be fun!” with that he bolted towards the locomotive “There’s no stopping some ponies” Chirped Diamond as she loaded her revolver “There’s no way we can fail” “If you insist” Replied Magnum lifting his mini-gun from the ground Rilik leant against a wall as he observed the door slowly opening “This is gonna to be easy” he sighed as he finished loading his rocket launcher Chain Hoof finished loading the grenade launchers and began to set down the spiked ones which he had dubbed ‘Sticky Bombs’ due to their incredibly sticky spikes which allowed them to be set practically anywhere and would be even better upon a robots head. Sky Gaze readied his sniper rifle as he leant on the wall of the old watch tower “We can’t be stopped, there’s a reason this team was summoned here” Smirked Sky as he looked down the sight of the rifle “We’re all remarkable fighters” Said the ponies all in time despite not knowing where one another were “And I’m a damn remarkable ODST” Muttered Rilik as he stood directly in the path of the robots “And I’m ready to kill, first ones in... last ones out”
Teamwork beginsRilik observed as the robotic ponies began to run towards the mining encampment whilst he calmly loaded some shells into his shotgun, he had been trained to remain calm in situations which seemed as if the only plausible outcome would be an untimely demise. He loaded in the eighth shell and pumped the shotgun before checking his last weapon, a foldable shovel which seemed more likely to fly back and hit his helmet than to damage the robots any amount he followed the action of unfolding it in the quickest way he could without destroying the joint which allowed the shovels head to fold into the handle. “Yo what’s up” Stated a crackling robotic voice as the feeling of a baseball bat gently tapping his right arm was felt, he glanced to see a robotic earth pony holding onto a shining metallic baseball bat which he was about to swing at Rilik’s head. The motion occurred and Rilik placed one arm on the bat and the other on the connecting joint between the robots front hoof that held the bat as he slowly tore it away from the rest of the body before hitting its head with the baseball bat “Like I said...” Muttered Rilik “Easy” he dropped the bat and turned back to the oncoming horde of robots when there was a distant gunshot followed by a large robotic earth ponies body falling onto Rilik, lifeless and without a head. He turned behind him to see a glint of shining glass from the top of the towns watch tower no doubt where their host had set up his foothold. He took note of this as he turned back to the horde of robots once again, they had now reached the frontline where Dark Cloud and co. had established their defense. Dark Cloud smashed at the pile of scrap metal before him with the wrench he had picked up and began to doubt the blueprints. Star Whistle was stood without a clue of what to do with the weapon she had picked up and was looking at the faded labelling on the weapon as she began to observe the syringe gun she had picked up, Freedom was the only one of the group which was having any amount of success as he had previous experience with flamethrowers and other weapons – as did Rilik and Sky Gaze – and because of that was the only one managing to hold back the waves of robotic ponies as they attempted to get past the frontline. Rilik arrived at the frontline wielding his shotgun in one hand and shovel in the other as he kicked a rock towards the scrap metal which Dark Cloud was hitting so frantically, the rock made impact with the heap and caused it to spin and transform into a turret looking object which immediately made a beeping sound and began firing large bullets, armour piercing Rilik believed, and the oncoming robots began to drop like flies. Star Whistle took another look at the weapon before deciding that it would be fired from the large handle atop the weapon which needed to be pulled back to allow something to happen, she pointed the barrel at Freedom so she would have nothing to lose and pulled the handle back causing a red holographic line to flow into Freedom as a few wounds began to close rapidly. Freedom gave Star Whistle an odd look and attempted to say ‘thank you’ but couldn’t bring himself to say it and instead returned to burning the robots, Dark Cloud rummaged through the small satchel of blueprints and produced something that looked similar to a soda machine in his opinion. Rilik fired a rocket into the crowd of robots sending them flying in all directions and many limbs to hit walls and other robots as he swung his shovel into the head of another crowd of robots and all fell quiet on the frontlines. But there was something much more dangerous occurring behind the frontlines. Magnum span the minigun barrel, it appeared as though the robots had decided upon two entry points to distract the main fighting force from the actual danger. The robots that had entered the second way were mainly robots that appeared to have the ability to transform their appearance so they could look like members of the team, in short spies. As well as snipers and some robots that wore helmets which covered their eyes from view completely, Diamond Iridescence was in the centre of the action as she fought off an enemy spy who had blocked her magic from use by using a similar item to her Sapper but was inbuilt into the robot and effected the area around it. She drew her butterfly knife as she blocked an oncoming slash, the impact was really quite strong and caused her to be forced back a small amount. She immediately drew back her knife causing the robot to fall forward and swung her knife down attempting to stab it in the back, just as the knife was about to make impact the knife was shot from her hoof by a sniper stood but a few meters away. So now it was two on one, but that didn’t matter at all. Diamond drew her revolver, pointed it at the sniper and shot causing its head to roll from its metal spine and onto the floor, the spy however cut through the barrel of the revolver after the first shot preventing her from using it any further in this fight. She glanced quickly down to the butterfly knife that had been shot from her hooves, it lay but a few meters away from her but was behind her current target. She glanced over her shoulder at Magnum to see he was busy fending off the seemingly infinite waves of the helmeted robots that appeared from seemingly nowhere, so she would have to beat this robot on her own without any magic and without a weapon. About as fair as things had been today at any rate. She span around and landed a kick into the robots face sending it tumbling back a short distance, but not enough for it to be behind the knife much to her annoyance, the spy took a moment to seemingly recalibrate as it began to make a whirring noise which made Diamond feel extremely uncomfortable and uneasy. Suddenly the robot sprouted a horn as well as wings, this couldn’t be good for her at all. “Diamond, I’ll be with you in a moment” Grimly stated Magnum as he continued to mow down the robots before him “Take your time” Replied Diamond “This could be interesting” she sighed as she attempted to think of a clever one liner but was rudely interrupted by the robot which was now an Alicorn lifting its knife and raising its wings ready for an attack. With full force it pushed off of its hind legs and flapped its metallic wings with the knife pointed at Diamond, she closed her eyes and prepared for a sharp pain but instead heard the sound of clanging metal. “I leave for a few minutes and this happens? Man this is more lively than the frontlines for sure” Happily stated a voice. Diamond opened her eyes to see Twister stood before her with the spies knife lodged into the metal baseball bat he had picked up earlier “You gonna get your knife, Diamond?” Diamond took a moment to understand what was going on and scurried to her butterfly knife as Twister placed his shotgun to the spies head and pulled the trigger causing a shower of nuts and bolts to scatter onto the floor. Diamond sighed in relief as she felt her magic being restored but this was short lived as another wave was approaching from behind Magnum. Attempting to fix her revolver whilst Twister attempted to dislodge the knife from his bat they believed they were surely to be killed but instead fate smiled upon them in the form of highly explosive sticky bombs detonating at the feet of the robots. Chain Hoof wandered through the shower debris with a large grin on his face and Twister looked at him completely in awe of what had just happened, Chain swung the sticky bomb launcher onto his back and produced a glass bottle which he smashed around the head of a slightly alive robot causing it to fall to the ground without a chance of survival “Now that’s what I call an explosive entry!” Chirped Diamond, happy to get a one liner in before anypony else could speak, Twister sighed and returned to tugging the knife from his bat as Chain Hoof approached the crowd of three “Where’d you learn that?” Asked Twister as he finally succeeded, Chain Hoof thought for a moment and gestured to the large bandage across his stomach “A little help would be nice” Interrupted Magnum as his minigun took the last of the bullets and began to make only clicking noises. The other three turned to the horde of helmeted robots before nodding and returning to the onslaught. Sky Gaze inhaled deeply as he aimed carefully at the largest robot in the oncoming horde, behind him was a half empty cup of cider and several empty jars “Easy...” Stated Sky under his breath “Line up the shot...” his ear twitched as he heard a noise from behind him. Quickly he swung his sniper back into the face of his attacker before grabbing the large knife he had on the box next to him and slashed down onto the spy robot which had just attempted to kill him “What?” Muttered Sky “How could they have got this far back...” he turned back to his rifle and lazily pulled the trigger causing the robot to fall backwards onto a large amount of other robots, completely crushing them. He used the scope to look around the area “They’re in groups of four now... but still not working together completely...” Muttered Sky “We need to work together for this...” Authors Note: Sorry about using Bleach music, I intend to keep it around TF2 music but I was listening to those songs while I wrote the fight scene and the apperance of Chain Hoof. Hopefully I'll only use Bleach music or any other music if I REALLY need to
Wave Upon WaveRilik ran backwards whilst firing a barrage of rockets at the next oncoming horde consisting of mainly robots with flamethrowers which admittedly worried the others a significant amount but they would have to fight through their fears to defeat this horde. Dark Cloud hammered at the automatic gun as it fired off a few missiles accompanied by a wave of high calibre bullets which pierced through the robots metal armour. “Right flank!” Yelled Rilik as he began to reload the launcher, they’re attention turned directly to the right as the robots made their next advance from there where Freedom stood with the flamethrower and the mental preparation to fight the oncoming horde by himself. The first few leapt over him and were met by a rough blast of air which sent them soaring back a few metres before they were completely burnt to a crisp. Rilik nodded as he considered the right flank to be in safe hands and returned to firing barrages of rockets at the frontal wave. “Moving up!” Beckoned Dark Cloud as he grabbed hold of the sentry and blindly ran towards the centre of the street they stood in before tossing it down and resuming the violent hammering to try and benefit the gun. He produced another blueprint with his spare hoof and looked it over before emptying a satchel full of scrap metal onto the floor and began to hammer at that which produced a large red box of sorts which emitted a red ray similar to that of Star Whistle’s healing gun she had began to use on Freedom, there was a dial which had no numbers but instead contained the letters ‘E’ and ‘F’ at either end. As the dial flicked up it quickly flicked back down as more scrap metal appeared inside of the satchel Dark Cloud had just emptied, so this was effectively a dispenser in Dark Cloud’s eyes. Meanwhile Star Whistle was assisting Rilik in his assault against the front waves of robots, her healing gun recoiled a moment before discharging some red electricity at the front as the many unlit lights now lit up and glowed faintly. “What’s happening?” Yelled Rilik as he glanced over his shoulder to Star Whistle “I don’t know! The entire gun is glowing!” Replied Star Whistle as she looked over the weapon “There’s a small switch on the side, should I try that?” “Might as well!” Replied Rilik as the ground near him was hit by a rocket as a wave of soldier robots joined in the charge, she flicked the switch and the guns ray became a darker shade of red and Rilik was coated in a red colour completely removing the dark colours of his armour and the light reflection of his helmets visor, the oncoming rockets and bullets bounced off of Rilik as he marched forwards. “I’m invincible!” He laughed manically over the sounds of the many explosions as he greatly thinned the number of robots charging towards them. “I wouldn’t count on it lasting forever, the dial on the side is going down quite quickly!” Replied Star Whistle as the red covering began to flicker before disappearing completely, the smoke rising from the craters began to fade and revealed that there were no more robots heading their way once more. “That was close...” Muttered Rilik as he sat down in the middle of the street and looked at his rocket launcher “More annoying than the covenant...” Sky Gaze looked through the scope of his rifle and observed as the buildings in the encampment began to be destroyed by a few collector robots, by the looks of things the tank had already began to run out of materials to manufacture the robots with and were resorting to tearing apart the landscape around the encampment for additional materials. “Dammit...” Muttered Sky Gaze as he watched, he knew that firing his rifle did about as much as throwing stones at a magical barrier did to those robots after he had tried to stop them the first time. He tore himself away from his rifle and picked up the sub machine gun he had placed next to his knife and also grabbed attached his knife to his belt before clambering down the staircase he had came up about an hour ago. He pushed open the broken wooden door and began his march towards the four that had stuck further back than Dark Cloud and the others. Magnum fired off a heap of rounds into the support robots before his minigun overheated and he was forced to drop it the floor and punch it a few times for good measure, Twister leapt over Magnum and smashed a robots head into pieces before landing a kick on another robot which sent it spinning into a wall before exploding and spraying bolts into the air. “Where’s diamond?” Yelled Twister to Magnum who had just picked his minigun back off the floor and resumed his unstoppable firing into the crowds of robots “No idea” He replied blankly “Keep an eye out” Chain Hoof launched himself over both of them using his sticky bombs and landed atop a building from which he launched a barrage of grenades to hold off the main robots of the wave. Diamond was sneaking around behind the wave completely invisible as she manipulated the light rays which made her visible to the naked eye. She approached the most dangerous appearing robot before plunging the knife she held deep into its back. “There she is!” Yelled Twister as he leapt over the crowd of robots who all turned to face her after this outburst from Twister “What a twist...” Muttered Diamond as she drew her revolver and prepared to fight the oncoming horde of robots. Suddenly a grenade landed in the centre of all of the robots as they glanced to the glowing object and realised that they were about to be destroyed. “Aw sh...” Exclaimed all the robots before being violently torn apart by the grenade “That was close” Sighed Diamond as she drew her knife again “Thanks Chain!” Chain Hoof smiled and nodded happily before leaping down from the rooftop. “Isn’t that our host?” Inquired Magnum as he ignored the others and was facing the opposite direction, the others squinted and saw a silhouette through the disturbed sand that had been flung about in the grenades explosion. “It is...” Stated Twister “And he doesn’t look like he has good news either...”
TANK!Freedom placed his flamethrower down as the last of the robots fell and there was a strange spell of silence, the carrier tank had stopped making robots by the looks of things and everything was quiet for the first time since they had arrived. “Is that the last of them?” Inquired Star Whistle as she stopped using her healing gun “Seems like it” Replied Freedom as he surveyed the area once more “Hey guys...” Began Rilik “Isn’t that the rest of our team?” behind them a crowd of five was walking towards them, one of which was bouncing around excitedly with a bat in his hooves. The leader was their host and was looking particularly grim as he approached. “What’s up?” Inquired Dark Cloud “That was the last of them, right?” the words hung about for a while before Sky Gaze made an answer. “I’ve seen what they’ve been making all this time, and it isn’t more robots” Stated Sky Gaze grimly as he pointed his machine gun at a wooden barricade which had a few rails going into it “What is it?” Inquired Star Whistle, she looked suspiciously at the barricade “Some kind of explosive?” Magnum followed suit and pointed his minigun at the barricade whilst the conversation progressed “They’ve been destroying buildings while we were fighting, not because they wanted to make robots...” Resumed Sky Gaze “They were making something much bigger” Chain Hoof planted a few sticky bombs outside of the barricade before retreating to what he believed to be a reasonable distance “Out with it!” Spat Freedom as he grasped his flamethrower “They were making...” Began Sky Gaze, Diamond produced the sapper and hid around a corner nearer to the barricade. “Just tell us what the hell it is you overdramatic equine” Pouted Rilik, suddenly the ground shook and the barricade was consumed in a wall of smoke before a large red light pierced through it “They were making that...” stated Sky Gaze as the ponies unleashed their attack on the smoke cloud “A smoke cloud?” stated Dark Cloud as he began to chuckle but was interrupted by a large blue box placed upon two tank tracks emerge from the cloud “Oh... cra...” he was interrupted by Twister "TAAAAAAAAANK!" He yelled excitedly before jumping at it Magnum cursed as his minigun overheated a second time and the seemingly unstoppable tank had reached the end of the first street “Sap it!” Yelled Star Whistle over the noises “Sapper is already on!” Screamed Diamond back as she unloaded another six shots from her revolver into the tank “Fire some rockets at it Rilik!” Yelled Twister as he frantically hit the top of the tank with his bat “Don’t tell me what to do when you’re the one hitting it with a god-damned bat!” Boomed Rilik back as he quickly reloaded his rocket launcher “If anything you should be blaming Freedom for not using his flamethrower properly!” “I am using it properly you dunce!” Screeched Freedom back as he burnt the front of the tank whilst walking backwards “It’s that damned Sky Gaze that’s...” “All of you shut up!” A deep and unfamiliar voice boomed causing all to fall silent “Quit your bickering and just shoot the damned thing!” Diamond turned to discover that it was Chain Hoof who had just yelled that “So you’ve decided to join us in this thrilling world of conversation then?” Smiled Diamond as she hastily reloaded her revolver, Chain Hoof nodded and Diamond sighed “Or not...” a barrage of grenades flew over the groups heads and hit the tank which sent it back a small amount. The tank turned the final corner and went down the hill towards the hatch placed in the centre of the encampment “Give it all you’ve got, if this destroys that hatch we’re done for!” Yelled Sky Gaze over the sound of gunfire, Dark Cloud threw his sentry in the path of the tank as it fired off a barrage of missiles and bullets before being crushed by the tank completely. He drew his shotgun and fired multiple rounds at the tank as the smoke which had been coming from its vent increased and became thicker, it was almost destroyed. It just needed that little push more to do the job... Dark Cloud drew his pistol as well and fired both weapons at the same time, the others soon followed this idea and the tanks armour started to fall off. “It’s almost to the hatch!” Yelled Diamond as she stabbed the metal plating violently “It just needs a little more!” the group fired each one of their guns into the tank as a missile rose from the top of the tank, the group ran their separate ways to escape the blast that would occur at any second now. “Where’s Sky Gaze gone?!” Yelled Rilik over the chaos Sky Gaze broke into full sprint up the stairs and grabbed his sniper rifle, he looked down the sights quickly and took aim at the tip of the missile. “This is gonna be to close...” He muttered before he pulled the trigger The bullet flew from the rusted metal barrel of the sniper rifle and out into the mining encampment, it spun around as it flew towards its target. Over the piles of dead robots, over the fences and buildings around it and finally plunged into the tip of the missile, everything was still for a moment as if the world was a picture before the missile exploded sending shrapnel everywhere and the hatch to be badly damaged in the process. Rilik looked to the tower where Sky had taken the shot from to be greeted by a glint from the scope of Sky’s sniper rifle. “That was to close...” Muttered Rilik “We’re almost on our last legs...” “Look!” Yelled Star Whistle as she pointed at the carrier tank where the robots had came from “There are robots headed our way, and they look better equipped than the others...” Dark Cloud dropped some scrap metal down and hit it with the wrench at an extremely fast pace “We’ll hold out here until they run out of robots...” Stated Dark Cloud “It’s all or nothing now, we have to work as a team” Magnum sighed and looked around the opening at his team before holding his hoof out. “Everypony in?” Stated Magnum as the others placed their hooves over his “I feel somewhat left out...” Jested Rilik as he placed his hand atop the group of hooves “But hell, we’re all going home after this aren’t we?” the ponies and one human raised their hooves and hand to the sky and began setting up their defenses.
Team BuildingRilik sat atop one of the remaining buildings and observed the robots as they began to run towards the hatch, Twister appeared from nowhere next to him and rested his bat on the back of his neck before speaking. “You seem really obsessed with getting home” Twister happily observed “I’ve been trapped in this world for more time than I’d care to imagine” Retorted Rilik as his visor stared onwards into the setting sun, Twister turned to him and watched as the sun caught the visor and glinted in an oddly picturesque way. “You must really miss home” Replied Twister as he adjusted his gaze to the setting sun as well “I’d miss it too” Twister closed his eyes and thought back upon his life before he was interrupted by the sound of Rilik speaking. “It’s not just that... a friend of mine was killed in this world, and I intend to get my revenge at some point” He replied in a somewhat angered tone “After this is all done I’d watch yourself, you could be the next I kill” Twister opened his eyes and looked over Rilik who was now stood up and loading his shotgun. “Violence rarely solves anything” He stated before he leapt down from the building and into the wave of robots that approached. “I don’t want it to solve anything” Thought Rilik aloud “It’s just damn fun to kill” he pumped the shotgun and leapt down from the roof and joined Twister. Magnum placed his minigun on the ground as he cursed the invention for having such an obnoxious habit of overheating at a vital moment, Dark Cloud managed to overhear this and stepped towards Magnum. “I could help you with that” Stated Dark Cloud as he raised an eyebrow, the minigun seemed to be in a rather primitive form and it could do with some much needed upgrading as it was so the invitation of help from the engineer of the team was more than a life saver for Magnum. “That would be helpful” Stated Magnum in his monotone voice “I’ll be but a moment” Smiled Dark Cloud as he began hitting the weapon with the wrench he had used to build everything else with. Chain Hoof was sat polishing the barrel of his grenade launcher as he re-evaluated his original outlook of living, it was a lot nicer than he had remembered and for certain a lot more comfortable than being stuck in a coffin under the ground. He looked up and saw the medic of the team wandering towards him, she gave a sheepish smile as she approached and sat next to him. “You don’t seem to talk to many ponies” Star Whistle inquired in a hushed tone “Why?” Chain Hoof rolled his eyes, this question was bound to come up at some point and he hated answering the question more and more. “I’m dead” He simply stated in a soothing voice as he resumed the polishing of the launcher. “What do you mean?” Inquired Star Whistle in a confused tone “I was dead before I came here, I feel as though the dead should remain silent” Stated Chain as he put down his launcher and looked to the clouds. “You don’t have to, your input could be extremely beneficial to us all” Smiled Star Whistle “That way we can get this over with quickly and all go home” “I don’t want to return home to that dark, desolate fate of mine” Replied Chain grimly as he got up “Now, we should really be preparing, should we not?” he offered Star Whistle a helping hoof to get up and he turned to face the noises of Rilik and Twister fighting. Star Whistle looked at him for a moment before deciding now she knew this pony a little better – even if she only knew so much about him it would surely be the start to a new friendship. Freedom leant against the wooden wall of a remaining building as he looked over a small silver locket that had been hidden using an invisibility spell, the locket was a love heart shape and inside was a picture of a mare. Diamond had been watching Freedom for some time now and was starting to creep her out more than a little bit. “Don’t dwell on the locket” Smiled Diamond as she broke the awkward silence between the two, Freedom looked up with pure spite in his eyes. “Leave me be” He stated, his voice brimming with anger and pain “I’ll do my job when the robots come” Diamond rose her eyebrow at this. “I’m not worried about the robots getting here” She replied “I’m worried that you’ll stop doing your job properly if you keep locking your mind on that locket” Freedom looked up at Diamond. “I’ll do my job to a better standard than anypony else on this team” Spat Freedom as he tucked the locket away “None of you know what I’ve been through or what I face” he turned away from Diamond and began to walk away. “Well then, what have you been through?” Inquired Diamond, Freedom stopped in his tracks as the shock of being asked this caught up with him. “More than I’d care to tell you” Replied Freedom before he resumed a steady stroll away from Diamond “More than you could probably imagine, to” Twister was backed into a corner by the ranks of the various robots running towards him they raised their metallic bats as the scene played in slow motion, the bat was about to make contact with Twister’s head but was halted when Rilik unloaded a shotgun round into the robots heads and kicked their arms away. “I’m not watching another death, don’t back yourself into a corner like that” Firmly stated Rilik as his attention returned to the attackers that charged towards the pair. “Thanks...” Replied Twister as he picked up his bat and leapt over Rilik’s head. “Damn equines...” Muttered Rilik before firing a rocket into the crowd of robots.
The Beginning of the EndFreedom approached the oncoming horde with no fear or hesitation as he raised his flamethrower, after he had looked at the locket his determination and courage had returned to him after his short period of doubt and fear. The robots were falling incredibly fast to Freedoms flamethrower which immediately struck him as odd, why were they falling so quickly? Could it be that the end was drawing near on this battle? “Watch out!” Yelled Diamond from next to him as she uncloaked and quickly stabbed one of the scouts which had managed to get past Freedom’s wall of fire “You shouldn’t be out here on your own, you should know that we have to work as a team” the two of them slowly turned back to back as the hordes of robots continued to seep from the area around them. “Thanks for the save, but I can handle myself” Spat Freedom as he resumed burning the robots around him “I only want to stay alive” “Then the best way to stay alive is to fight together, and the best way to fight together is back to back” Replied Diamond as she managed to fire off a good few rounds from her revolver “You’re not the only one that wants to stay alive here” “For different reasons” Barked Freedom back as a few robots fell to the intense wall of flame. “I only want to stay alive so I can kill all of you after” he drew his fire axe from his back and crushed a group of robots beneath it, Diamond pulled her sapper out and tossed it into the crowd causing them to malfunction and collapse. “I need to stay alive if you want to kill me” Stated Diamond as she shot a few revolver rounds over the top of Freedom’s head “So let’s work together, not to stay alive but to kill each other later” they both grinned wildly. “I like your thinking” Grinned Freedom “You’re on!” they stood in a more alert back to back position and resumed the hail of gunfire and flamethrower fire into the seemingly endless horde. Magnum slowly wandered up the road as a tumbleweed blew past his legs. He carried with him the modified minigun as he thought about the ponies he had met today and his life in general. “These ponies, they’ve accepted me” Grunted Magnum “They’ve helped me through thick and thin” Memories of the teamwork they had all shared went through his mind at the precise moment and his pace began to increase. “I don’t intend to be the loose end of this team” Grinned Magnum as he broke into full sprint “I’ll kill every one of these robots so my friends don’t have to” “That’s good” Smiled Dark Cloud as he appeared next to magnum, running backwards beside him “That kind of positive thinking works wonders for the mind, also for your team” he had a red box in front of his face as he ran which may have explained why he was running backwards in the first place. “So what have you got there?” Inquired Magnum as he turned the corner and stood before a street full of robots. “Something that’ll help us in this kind of situation” Grinned Dark Cloud wildly “You ready?” “You know it” Replied Magnum as he hoisted his minigun and aimed at the crowd “Fire!” a hail of gunfire from the minigun struck the robots as Dark Cloud swung the box upside down and placed two sentries either side of Magnum to prevent the horde from reaching him. “Only issue now is ammo, and I can sort that with a simple dispenser” Cheered Dark Cloud over the sound of gunfire and crashing of dead robots “Let’s do this” Dark Cloud spilt the contents of the scrap metal satchel to the ground and began hammering at it whilst a dispenser began to shape up behind Magnum. Chain Hoof inhaled deeply as Star Whistle used the healing gun on him. “You ready for this?” Smiled Star Whistle as she looked at the swarm of robots that approached them. “You bet I am” Grinned Chain Hoof as he raised his grenade launcher “Let’s do this Star Whistle, not because we want to go home... but because it’s damn fun” he leapt towards the enemy launching grenades as he did so and was followed by a very nervous Star Whistle who struggled to keep up with the reckless ponies charge. Crowds at a time fell to the continuous grenade barrage which struck them before they could even see what was coming. “Do you have the feeling this is too easy?” Inquired Star Whistle nervously as she ducked to avoid an oncoming chunk of shrapnel “Or are we just getting better at this?” “I think it’s too easy...” Began Chain Hoof only to be interrupted by a wall being knocked down to reveal the single most largest robot they had seen during the entire battle. And it had a minigun. Twister and Rilik watched as the huge robot towered over every structure in sight as practically all the robots around them stopped in their tracks and began to disintegrate before the dust flew towards the robot repairing every dent it had in its metal. “What in Harvests name is happening...” Muttered Rilik in awe of the scene before him “I don’t know where in Equestria that is, but I’ve gotta agree this is one helluva scene” Interrupted Twister as he dropped his bat. “We’re gonna have to stop that aren’t we?” Stated Rilik, dumbstruck “Probably...” Replied Twister, there were hoofsteps from beside them and Magnum with Dark Cloud approached. “You guys seein’ this to?” Inquired Magnum as he looked at the giant robot “Or have I had to much cider again?” “We better take that thing down, and fast” Replied Rilik, completely ignoring Magnum’s question “I have the feeling this is gonna be more frustrating than that tank” and with that an alarm sounded and Sky Gaze’s voice was broadcasted through an old speaker system. “Tank has entered the area!” Yelled Sky Gaze as the sound of tank tracks echoed throughout the entire mining encampment “Half go for the robot, half for the tank. We’re gonna have to prioritise who goes where though, that could make or break us” “Dark Cloud, Twister” Stated Rilik “You two go for the robot. That would slow him down, Magnum and I will go after the tank to destroy it quickly and then help you with the robots” Dark Cloud and Twister nodded before breaking into a sprint towards the robot. “You ready to destroy this tank?” Asked Magnum eagerly “I’m more than ready” Replied Rilik as he loaded multiple rockets into the barrel of the launcher “I’ll land constant barrages on it, you maintain a steady flow of bullets into it” Magnum nodded and they both ran towards the tank. Freedom and Chain Hoof began their sprint towards the tank. “You have much experience in killing?” Asked Freedom as he hopped over a pile of dead robots. “Got an experience of being dead” Replied Chain as he attempted to close the gap between them “Not a very nice experience as it turns out” “I’d assume so” Chuckled Freedom as he slowed down for Chain to catch up “How do you think Star Whistle and Diamond will be back there?” “They’ll be fine” Assured Chain “They both know how to handle themselves in a battle extremely well” Meanwhile at the base of the robot Diamond had thrown a sapper towards it and also stabbed its foot quite a few times. “This thing isn’t dying!” Yelled Diamond angrily as her efforts were to no avail “What do I do?” the foot began to lift off the ground and hung above Star Whistle who had no idea it was there, it began to lower itself as Diamond barged Star Whistle out of the way of the foot but was unable to escape from the approaching foot, she was ready to accept her fate at the foot of this metal monstrosity. She forced her eyes closed as her life began to flash before them. At first there was nothing, but then there was the sound of metal making contact with something and Diamond quickly glanced upwards to see Twister standing on two legs holding his bat up to the foot of the robot and stopping it from moving. “What in Equestria... how is that even possible....” Murmured Diamond “’sup” Grinned Twister “Got Dark Cloud to fill my bat with Titanium, won’t break that easy anymore” he pushed the bat upwards and threw the robot off of balance. “I told you it’d work!” Yelled Dark Cloud’s voice as he trotted towards the scene, a satchel swinging by his side as he did so “How’s that metal hoof working out for you as well?” “Metal...” muttered Diamond as she looked at Twister “What?” Smiled Twister “Good for punching...”
The Finale (Part 1)“And punching...” Stated Twister “Is just what I’m gonna do!” he swung his metal hoof forward as the tip sharpened and pierced the robots foot – but this was by no means the end of this display, whilst Twisters hoof had pierced the metal of the robots foot a sudden surge of unseen magic to coarse through the spike and flood into the giant robot which caused it to freeze in place. “I see the magic worked!” Exclaimed Dark Cloud excitedly from a safe distance “That’ll hold it for a few minutes, sadly we could only fit one charge in though” Twister pulled his spiked metal hoof from the robots foot as it re-shaped back to a normal hoof. “So this is good to keep using? The spike I mean” Inquired Twister curiously as he looked over the metal. “Should be alright as long as you don’t break it, in that case you’ll have one hell of a time finding a replacement” Grinned Dark Cloud as he threw his empty metal satchel to the floor “That bat and hoof better prove worthy of wasting all that metal” Dark Cloud pulled a shotgun from his back and pumped it. “Wait... so what did you do with his actual hoof?” Inquired Diamond as she exited her trance of confusion “Binned it” Replied Dark Cloud nonchalantly “What did you expect us to do?” “Get rid of it properly!” Screamed Star Whistle “Oh, quit whining” Stated Dark Cloud as he turned back to the giant robot “We have to kill that thing before we do anything” he began to hail shotgun rounds into its leg. “I’m gettin’ the top of it!” Yelled Twister as he ran and punched the ground which caused him to be propelled upwards an incredible distance (A distance that was roughly equal to the robots shoulders) “Where’d Chain Hoof go by the way?” Asked Diamond as she loaded her revolver “For a pony who’s name would suggest that he’d stay in one place he sure does stray a lot” “He ran towards the tank and left me here” Replied Star Whistle as she shot a barrage of needles at the robot “Where’d Freedom go?” “He went running towards the tank as well, I’d guess that Freedom and Chain must have met up on their travels” Replied Diamond as she fired the revolver at the robot. Rilik and Magnum ran frantically towards the tank as the sound of explosions became louder. “I might have to leave you in my dust” Stated Rilik as he raised his launcher “That okay with you?” “Go ahead, we’re gonna kill this tank either way” Replied Magnum as he was in the middle of slowed running because of the minigun he grasped, Rilik nodded and aimed his rocket launcher to the ground behind him. “I’ll meet you at the tank” Yelled Rilik as the explosions became louder “Don’t take your time” he shot a rocket at his feet and sent himself flying into the air at a tremendous speed which hurtled him towards the sounds of the fight against the tank. “Wait a second...” muttered Rilik “Why are there so many explosions when there’s only one demo pony?” he spun in mid air and looked at where he was headed to see that the tank they were fighting was very different than what he thought it would be. This one had guns. Chain Hoof and Freedom leant against the flimsy wooden barricades they had as makeshift cover to avoid the hail of gunfire the tank was spraying at them, bullets flew through every angle of the barricades and barely missed the two as they attempted to form a plan. “Any ideas yet?” yelled Freedom over the gunfire “Or are we just winging it?” “Well... the idea of firing grenades at it from cover didn’t work!” Replied Chain “So I guess we are just winging it... wait a second...” Chain squinted at the sky above him as a shadow passed over the two, a shadow which they had never seen before. “That’s no pony...” Muttered Freedom as Rilik hurtled into the tank itself and knocked a few guns from its front “That’s an idiot...” Rilik combat rolled to the front of the tank before realising there were still many guns he had failed to knock off. “Aw damnit...” Muttered Rilik as he leapt over the wooden barricades the two ponies hid behind “So this is the situation you’ve been in for... how long?” “About five minutes...” Replied Chain shamefully “We’ve been forced to move back a few times and we can barely get a shot off on it...” “Speaking of moving back, the tanks pretty much on top of our cover” yelled Freedom as he began to scurry back towards the next set of poorly constructed barricades “I’d move back if I were you!” Rilik fired a rocket at the tank and ran towards the cover, the rocket hit and did seemingly no damage. “How strong is this thing?” Yelled Rilik as the gunfire continued its annoying loud chime “Too strong!” Boomed Chain as he launched a few grenades at it and at that point Magnum swung around the corner and hailed the tank with gunfire. “Gonna need some fire here, Freedom” Stated Magnum calmly as he faced the tank. Twister had grown bored of hitting the robot and had persisted that Dark Cloud “Do something cool” to his metal hoof and that was all that Dark Cloud had been doing for the past few minutes. “Are you done yet?” Complained Twister “I wanna hit stuff...” “You asked for the upgrades, so keep quiet” Replied Dark Cloud, extremely annoyed. Star Whistle and Diamond had sat down and watched the process of the upgrade as it slowly progressed, the robot had been left unattended in its frozen state and the sound of explosions in the distance made them all assume that the tank was being handled. “So what are you actually doing?” Asked Star Whistle as the quiet became unbearable. “When the time comes you’ll be able to see” Replied Dark Cloud as he attached a few wires to the interior of Twisters hoof “Almost finished with this...” he attached a thin metal plate to the electronics he had placed in the hoof and used a screwdriver to fit the screws in place. “Sweet...” Muttered Twister “What does it do?” “Star Whistle, don’t use your invincibility charge on Twister until I say to. Alright?” Demanded Dark Cloud “Alright...” Sighed Star Whistle “If you’re gonna keep us all in suspense for this effect then I guess we’ll have to wait...” “Yep” Interrupted Twister “I bet it’ll be something like a spike again” as he said this the robot began to slowly move behind him as it recovered from its temporarily frozen state. “Well, we’ve best be getting on with this” Exclaimed Dark Cloud as he stood up and loaded his shotgun “The tank should be finished with soon enough and we’ll be able to kill this giant robot...” The tank had been almost completely annihilated by the three ponies and one human dealing with it. “Just a few more rounds!” Yelled Magnum as Rilik’s barrage of rockets made impact with the front of the tank causing its remaining weapons to fly off in all directions “Now go all out!” Freedom ran closer to the tank and resumed his wall of fire as the others continued their bombardment of the tank. “Any second now...” Yelled Freedom “I can tell...” as he finished that sentence the tank burst into a huge ball of flame and scrap which timed perfectly with the giant robot beginning to walk again. “No rest for the wicked I guess” Remarked Chain as he turned the other way and bolted towards the robot. “Some ponies...” Muttered Rilik as he leapt onto the roof of a building with the help of his rockets and followed Chain. “I have the terrible feeling we’re going to have to follow this thing rather than attack it” Stated Star Whistle as they stood underneath the robot. “Friends close, enemies closer” Replied Diamond as she trotted along happily with the giant robot “And we’ve got Twisters metal hoof if anything goes wrong” “Let’s hope so” Muttered Star Whistle as the robot continued its path. It had been around five minutes since the robot had resumed walking and was rapidly approaching the hatch. “Where are the others?!” Exclaimed Dark Cloud in utter frustration “The hatch is right there!” as if on cue the others arrived no more than a second after Dark Cloud had said this, but it seemed to be too late. The robots hoof opened and revealed a bomb inside of it which began to prepare itself, Dark Cloud cringed at the thought that his hastily made ‘Upgrades’ to Twisters hoof may have to be used after all. He shook his head in regret and turned to Star Whistle. “Use the charge!” Yelled Dark Cloud angrily to Star Whistle who immediately aimed at Twister and activated the readied charge. “What in Equestria is happening down there...” muttered Sky Gaze as he sipped some coffee from his cup and looked out of the tower towards the hatch “What in...” Twister had a sudden sensation surge through him, one he’d never felt before and hoped to never feel again. It was a mix of sorrow and adrenaline as well as a distinct amount of pain, his hoof raised itself and he found himself sitting down against his own will from the force. An unexplainable gust of wind blew out from his hoof and caused even buildings to collapse from the force. “What’s going on?!” Yelled Twister in confusion “It’s working!” Replied Dark Clouds voice. Twisters hoof began to open up and spread out into a large barrel which resembled a rocket launcher in appearance but looked as if it could fire nothing – he was of course proved wrong when the metal was surged with magic and seemed to be overloading. “What...” he muttered as the charge fired and a bright white light emitted from where the robot once stood “Is going on?!” The wall of colour eventually subsided and revealed an empty clearing, the robot had gone... “Dark Cloud? Diamond?” Yelled Twister as a building behind him collapsed as if attempting to break the silence. “Right here... that was glorious” Chuckled Dark Cloud as he appeared from under a pile of planks. The Finale (Part 2)The carrier tank had left soon after the destruction of the large robot and tank, the eight ponies and one human which had attempted to prevent the destruction of this mysterious town now stood where they had first met and were saying their farewells to one another. Rilik at first stood at a distance from the crowd of ponies awaiting his transport back to his own world. “Hey, Rilik” Smiled Twister as he approached Rilik “Great to meet ya buddy” Rilik turned and looked over the pony who had an unexplainably large grin on his face. “I’d expect you ponies to be sad to be leaving one another...” Replied Rilik “But, it’s been a minor pleasantry to make your acquaintance as well” “I’ll admit I was sad to leave at first, but then I realised....” Began Twister “I live in this world, so I’m going nowhere!” Rilik unexplainably laughed at this and hated himself for doing so. “So you going back to your family or something?” Inquired Rilik “I’m probably gonna be staying here for a while to help rebuild the town... Sky Gaze was trying to stop me but I’d rather help a pony than leave them to suffer a problem which was caused by something else” Replied Twister “I’ll be seeing you, Rilik” and with that Rilik trotted away towards the crowd of ponies. “Been a pleasure meeting you” Smiled Dark Cloud to Diamond “Though we didn’t talk much you seem like a nice enough pony” Diamond smiled back at Dark Cloud. “You to, maybe we’ll meet again under some slightly happier circumstances” Replied Diamond happily “Maybe” Grinned Dark Cloud back “But I’ve got to get away from Freedom first” and at that Freedom wandered past Dark Cloud and punched him on his side. “Not a chance” Chuckled Freedom as he wandered towards Twister, Diamond and Dark Cloud shook hooves and parted from one another. “So you got a home?” Inquired Magnum to Chain “I’ve got a grim fate awaiting me...” Replied Chain “But at least I was able to meet a ton of friendly ponies before I returned to it..” “Surely you could just ask to stay here?” Smiled Magnum as Chain formed a smile “You could stay with Sky Gaze, Twister and I” “That’d be great!” Chirped Chain as he leapt around in excitement “There’s so much I want to do in this world again” Magnum grinned wildly. “We’ll all do them together” Smiled Magnum “As a team!” Star Whistle sat with Sky Gaze as they discussed their life stories with one another, how Star Whistle had been trapped in a lab and met Dark Cloud and how Sky Gaze was once considered a fallen star but now lived a perfectly normal life. They envied one another for their adventures and friends. “Maybe we can all meet up again sometime...” Smiled Star Whistle as she looked into the sky above “Maybe...” Chuckled Sky Gaze “One day...” With the farewells finished the ponies were sent one by one back to where they came from, Magnum, Twister and Chain Hoof stayed with Sky Gaze to assist in the repairs of the town and Rilik was sent back to the universe of Equestria where he had been trapped before. All was good in Equestria. PrologueIf you have not done so already please read the end part of the description (Both about music and other OC's) to avoid confusion c:) Sky Gaze smiled as he locked the door to the sheriff’s office, it was awfully nice of him to let Sky Gaze take the sunset watch and lock up after what had happened last time but that didn’t matter anyway the houses were in desperate need of repair anyway, just speeding up the process as he believed. The sky suddenly turned black and a collection of clouds blocked out the sun, the was odd for a start as the Pegasi had promised a nice day today, but then it got even more odd. There was the sound of a large locomotive moving through the dusty plains just out of town to which he decided it best to find a vantage point and look at what was headed his way and began a steady trot towards the watchtower on the border of town. The door opened lazily letting in a thin ray of much needed sunlight to the dusty interior of the tower consisting of a broken table complete with chair and half empty box of cider and the tower made creaking noises as it struggled to sustain the weight of but one pony carefully clambering towards the top and as he reached the top was greeted by the sight of trailing smoke on the horizon and an amazingly large vehicle with the front door of a paddle steamer was approaching his town, and with that he realised that he had seen no other pony on the way to the watch tower which was extremely odd as the town was but a mining encampment. “Attention Ridge Mining Co. this is a warning to say that you and your encampment full of soldiers is about to be raided” Echoed a robotic voice “Ridge Mining Co?” Muttered Sky “They packed up years ago... the mines haven’t been used at all recently...” “You have two hours to announce your surrender, no more but probably less” Resumed the voice “This can’t be happening... I didn’t drink before this at all so it can’t be a hallucination...” Sighed Sky “Why do these things always happen to me...” he thought for a while before finding a solution, he would protect his home with everything he had... and maybe just a little help from others. He piled the weapons available into the centre of the town and began to summon forth the heroes he would need to save this place... well so he thought. “Ridge Vs. Robot”
