Author's Note

I hope you enjoyed this story.
I think it could've been better when it came to the sex scene but there's always next time.
The reason I'm leaving this incomplete is that - despite it being a commission - I'm strongly considering coming back to it to write up ideas for two alternate endings I had, one involving Silver Spoon and the other involving Diamond embracing the 'stud' she became.

Ciao for now. :raritywink:

Happiness Is Blind

One Month Later

“Hey, Diamond!”

“See ya Monday.”

“Have a nice weekend!”

The mirth behind their voices was a relatively new sound but Diamond was already used to it, responding to the speakers with a nod of acknowledgement or a smile. It was unpleasant, to begin with, but that was when her past experience of such a sound was overhearing others converse with the CMC. Now when she glanced at passing students, instead of flinching as they did in the past, they beamed back at her with sincere smiles. It was an awkward process but if ponies had a singular virtue, it was that they were quick to forgive and forget.

She emerged from the doors and shielded her eyes from the brightness of the sun. It was a nice day out, prompting her to grin. Silver Spoon was waiting for her, wearing a small, acknowledging smile of her own. Whilst Diamond’s change in demeanour came as a surprise, Silver seemed jubilant to go along with her newfound attitude. Furthermore, she seemed perfectly okay with the ‘other’ change Diamond came back with, making her the only other mare aware of the secret currently stuffing out the pink mare’s tight underwear.

Silver immediately began to follow Diamond at her side, as always, without a word. Diamond might have initiated conversation if she didn’t want to savour the heat brushing against her cheeks. Today just seemed especially good, and considering the plans for that weekend, she knew why.

“You’re always smiling now,” Silver remarked a few minutes into their walk, glancing at her sideways.

Diamond met her friend’s eyes, looking at her sideways and cocking a brow. “So?” she replied, neutral.

Silver’s smile deepened, looking back ahead. “I think it suits you.”

Diamond felt a heat in her cheeks but knew it wasn’t from the sun. Although touched with fluster, her smile refused to waver. She looked straight again.

The pair parted ways at a certain point, moving in separate directions to head to their respective homes. Diamond waited for Silver to be out of view before she picked up her pace to a slow jog. Running wasn’t really an option any more thanks to obvious reasons, but she could at least reach home slightly faster than just walking. She couldn’t keep her heart waiting for much longer…

Reaching home, she tried to slow her pace as not to attract suspicion or worry from the staff, doing as she always did. Hanging up her bag to be picked up later, she ascended the stairs, not turning a single head from maid nor buttling stallion. Although instead of heading left to her room, she carefully checked the coast before taking a right instead. The room she headed towards was already open, the door cracked open enough for her to slip her head in. She almost called out on reflex, tightening her lips before doing so; Her eyes landing on the single occupant within: Spoiled Rich.

She was standing there with her back to the door, packing a suitcase, her body wrapped in a floral dress that might have been called “tacky” once upon a time. Like Diamond, Spoiled went through a few changes of her own, and in Diamond’s opinion: for the better. Her mother looked just as good from the back as she did the front, and Diamond’s lips cracked into a cheeky grin at admiring her mother’s body. That ass was still unbeaten in her mind, its appeal never-fading despite how often she had seen it bare nowadays. However, with the formulation of a plan in her head, that smile took a turn for the mischievous. With her hooves muted by the plush carpet within, she crept into the room and up behind Spoiled, holding her breath to ensure she wouldn’t get caught.

Coming up from behind, she suddenly wrapped her arms around the older mare’s, snatching Spoiled into a lopsided embrace.

“Oh!” Spoiled quietly gasped, tensing up before Diamond felt her relax in her arms. Diamond pushed her face into Spoiled’s nape, inhaling her scent. Strawberries. “You startled me,” Spoiled said, her voice low and kind, trailed by a soft laugh.

“Sorry. Couldn’t help myself.” Diamond left a kiss on her mom’s neck after speaking. It was risky to pull off such an intimate manoeuvre, especially with the door wide open, but she had become long addicted to that warm feeling in her chest from doing so.

Spoiled leaned into the kiss. “What if we get caught?” she asked, no agency in her voice.

Diamond planted another kiss. “You ask that every time.” And another.

“And you’ve never changed your answer,” she smirked, receiving each one with happily.

“'Worth it’.” They both said in unison. The day back in Diamond’s bedroom after midnight. In the changing room of the mall boutique. Under the table during breakfast. It wasn’t even the risk that motivated them, at least according to Diamond. They’d go so long without sharing in affectionate for one another that it would bubble over, compelling them to drop whatever it was they were doing to hug, kiss, or fuck. Of course, no matter how slim their chance of getting out undiscovered, they always did. “Worth it” became a mantra of their relationship by this point. It always was.

The biggest testament to that was what pushed up against Diamond’s hands, which had settled on only one area when she hugged Spoiled from behind. Under her palms and pressing fingers, separated only by a thin material of the dress, was a bump. Diamond had her theories. Maybe Spoiled had lied about her own age so frequently that she actually forgot her own, off the mark by a couple of years. Either that or Diamond’s magical appendage was magical in more ways than one. It was, after all, against everything known to biology. Maybe she was packing something ‘super’ in those balls of hers. Needless to say, she didn’t work hard on the theories. Thoughts and critical thinking became background noise when her head when to the subject of her mother’s pregnancy. They were usually evaporated by the intense warmth of the joy she felt.

“I have to finish packing,” Spoiled said unconvincingly, not making any effort to escape Diamond’s arms. “The train gets here in an hour.”

Diamond squeezed her regardless, resting her chin on her shoulder; keeping her close. “I want to stay like this. Just for a little longer.”

Spoiled smirked, leaning her head against Diamond’s. “Okay…”

Diamond inhaled her mother’s mane, her mother’s warmth causing affection to roil in her chest. “Mom.”

“Yes, sweetie?” Spoiled murmured.

She must have said it more than a thousand times now, even in this, un-familial context. Still, she felt that compulsion rising up in her chest. She planted a kiss on the older mare’s cheek. “I love you.”

“I know…” Spoiled replied, smirking. Her arms crossed over Diamond’s, over her stomach, over their growing foal. “I love you too...”
