Twilight Sparkle rushed outside at dawn, carrying a bag of dandelion sandwiches and a few water bottles. She jumped into an old beach chair and sat down.
She was here to watch the pegasi. Twi often came to this very spot with food and water to watch them. She admired how they flew without any trouble.
Twilight spotted her good friend Rainbow Dash clearing clouds.
"Hey, Rainbow!" She neighed to the rainbow-maned pegasus.
"Whats up?" Dash said, flying down to the lavender unicorn.
"I wish I could fly." The unicorn blurted out.
"Why don't you just use your magic to make you have wings for a day?" Rainbow Dash asked.
Twily grinned and gave the cyan mare a hug. "You're a genius!"
Before Dash could reply, Twilight dashed away.
Twilight Sparkle searched through the shelves with help from Spike.
"I found it!" Spike declared.
Twilight grabbed the book from Spike and flipped through the pages.
Twilight read a passage and went upstairs. She put on her crown and focused her magic.
Her eyes glowed white and she was levitated into the air. She was surrounded by white light.
When the white light faded, Twilight still had her horn, but.......She had wings!
"Twilight," Spike gasped. "You have wings!"
"I know!!!!!" Twilight Sparkle squealed with joy. "Aren't they just gorgeus!?!?"
Before Spike could give her a compliment, she flew out of the library and into the light blue sky.
Rainbow Dash saw Twilight flying, and she flew over to the lavender mare.
"Twi," Rainbow said. "You have wings."
"I know! Now I can fly for a day!" Twilight said and soared away.
Soon, Twily became tired. She plopped down on a cloud and fell asleep..........
Twilight woke up. It was noon. She yawned and landed by the beach chair and ate a dandelion sandwich and got a drink of sparkling water.
She flew back into the sky approached Fluttershy who was flying with some hummingbirds.
"Twilight! You're flying!" Fluttershy gasped, astonished.
"I know!!!" Twilight said, showing off her purple wings. "Aren't my wings beautiful?"
"Oh, yes." The shy pegasus complimented.
"Thank you!" Twi said. "Can I fly with you?"
"Of course!" Fluttershy answered. "Lets go."
Twilight flew wing-tip to wing-tip with her friend. Twilight talked about new spells, while Fluttershy talked about animals.
"Angel can be really stubborn." Fluttershy said to the lavender mare.
"You need to show him who's boss, then!" Twi exclaimed.
"Oh, no! I could never do that.." The yellow pegasus neighed.
"Yes you could!" She argued.
"No I couldn't." Fluttershy lowered her voice into a whisper.
"Yes. You Could." Twily said, looking into Fluttershy's turqoise eyes.
"NO!!!!!!!!!" Fluttershy yelled.
Twilight was so surprised her wqings folded onto her sides and she couldn't open them. The purple mare fell through the air and her life flashed before her eyes.......
Twilight Sparkle opened her eyes. Her vision was blurry. A yellow pony with a long, pink mane and a cyan pony with a rainbow mane stood over her. The ponies felt familiar, but she couldn't remember a thing. Not only that, Her right back leg hurt like buck.
"Is she ok?" The yellow pony asked.
"I think so." The cyan pony answered.
"Look! She's awake!" The pink-maned pony exclaimed.
Twilight's vision cleared and she recognised the faces at once. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash!
"My leg...." Twily moaned.
"Its broken." Rainbow neighed.
Twilight flared her wings. "Fluttershy, you did this to me!"
"I know." Fluttershy sighed and crouched doiwn beside her friend.
Twilight found herself laying on her bed in her bedroom. Twily ried to sit up, but she collapsed when her broken leg refused to move.
"Don't move." Fluttershy warned.
"Yea." Dash agreed.
"Ugh...." The lavender mare complained.
"Don't try to move!" Rainbow Dash scolded, pressing a hoof down on her flank.
Twilight yelped with pain as her friend's hoof made contact with her flank.
"Stop, you're hurting her!" Flutter neighed, moving Dash's hoof away.
"I'm only touching it lightly." The cyan pegasus mumbled.
Twi looked at the window. It would be sunset soon! Thats when she would lose her precious wings.....She flared her wings and hovered above the bed.
"Look, guys! I can still fly!" The unicicorn-pegasus exclaimed and flew around the room. "I can move around like this! It doesn't hurt my leg!"
"Well..." Rainbow thought.
"I guess you can do that..." Fluttershy finished Dash's sentence.
"Yay! Lets go outside and have a race, Rainbow Dash!" Twilight squealed and fluttered outside.
Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle flew around in the sky. But little did Twilight know, Rainbow wasn't going as fast as she could so she would let Twi win.
Once at the finish line, Twilight boasted "I beat you! I am the fastest pegasus in all of Equeastria!"
Rainbow laughed. "Yup! Congrats!"
"Does that mean I can do a Sonic Rainboom?" Twi asked curiously.
"I'm afraid not, Twily." Rainbow answered.
"Hey! Don't call me Twily!" She said, giving the rainbow-maned pegasus a small shove.
"How's your leg?" Dash sneighed.
"Its fine! Don't worry about me!" Twilight snorted and fluttered home.
At home, Fluttershy was cleaning. "Oh, welcome back." She neighed.
"What are you doing?" said Twilight.
"Just doing some cleaning." The shy mare answered.
"Okay," Twilight trotted away and unpacked a dandelion sandwich. "Want one, huys?"
"Sure! Flying sure works up an appetite." Dash answered and bit into one of the three sandwiches.
"Same with cleaning." said Fluttershy and took a bite of the last sandwich.
It was almost sunset, but that was okay with Twily. She had enjoyed the day. She finished her dandelion sandwich layed down on the floor, ready for her wings to disappear forever.
Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy had fallen asleep on the floor. They were snoring softly.
Suddenly, Twilight's purple eyes glowed white and she was floated into the air. A bright, white light surrounded her..
Twilight fell down on the floor and checked her sides. No wings! But Twilight just smiled. She heard a voice at the back of her head.
Congratulations, Twilight Sparkle. You had your day of flight.
