Chapter 1: Summer the Kirin
In the magical realm of Equestria, there is an old legend about powerful mineral crystals known as Pokemon Gem, said to have the power to summon Legendary Pokemon. Powerful pokemon that have amazing and unique abilities and strength beyond compare. Some people say these Pokemon Gems are just a myth, but others believe they are real. But nopony has eve been able to prove which side is correct.
Meanwhile, life goes on as ponies and Pokemon live together; helping each other, playing with each other and bonding with each other. All throughout Equestria, Pokemon and Ponies are brought together in friendship.
But there was one pony... actually... not even a pony, who wasn't one of them but that was about to change in a huge way.
It all began one bright sunny day in Canterlot. Pidgey and Fletchlings were flying high above the capital of Equestria. Canterlot, home of the Princesses of Equestria; Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. Both bring harmony to their land by Celestia raising the sun and Luna raising the moon each and everyday. The two had their own pokemon partners as well. Celestia had a pink cat like pokemon that was pink with a red orb in the center of its head called Espeon, the Sun Pokemon while Luna had a black pokemon with several yellow rings on its ears, legs and tail called Umbreon, the Moonlight Pokemon.
The two sisters were happy with each other and their pokemon.
But this story isn't about them, let's go and see our main character shall we..?
Walking through the streets of Canterlot was a cream colored kirin with a red and orange toned mane and tail. Her scales on her hooves and back were bright yellow. Her name was Summer Blaze. Summer was the only kirin living in Canterlot. She used to live at the Peaks of Peril, far beyond the boarders of Equestria, until her village leader, Rain Shine, suggested that she go out and explore Equestria, secretly hoping she would try and make some friends.
You see... Summer.. isn't really interested in making friends. She was more interested in reading and studying magic rather than friends. Even looking at the happy relationships between the high-class Canterlot ponies and their pokemon didn't change Summer's idea on friendship.
As a filly kirin, she tried to play with other creatures her age, but because she was a half pony and half dragon creature, she was seen a freaky and the other kids avoided her, making her think she would be better off being alone. Since then, she started to distance herself from others, becoming insecure of herself and she saw friendship as a waste of time, to be honest. Summer made it to her house, where she entered and locked the door behind her. Her living was pretty simple; just a couch with a table in front of it and a rug underneath it. There was a small chandelier hanging overhead. Summer went upstairs and entered her bedroom. Summer went to the small bookshelf and she pulled out a book named 'Advanced Unicorn Spells' Now I know you might be wondering, why Summer would be interested in learning about unicorn magic even thought she's not a unicorn?
Well the reason is that, unlike her kirin brethren who only used their magic to grow plants and other vegetation, Summer wanted to do more with her magic like the unicorns did; transfiguration, teleportation, shield spells and much more! She wanted to learn magic just like a unicorn. Placing the book on her bed, she climbed onto it and started to read the book when..
Knock Knock Knock...
"Huh?" Summer wasn't expecting anyone.. well maybe her parents but they would usually send a scroll before they came, so Summer could prepare. Climbing off of her bed and going downstairs to the door, Summer opened the door.... and saw nopony there? "Umm..." she look left and right and she didn't see anypony there. She looked down and only saw a large brown box that was taped shut. "I wasn't expecting a package?" Summer said, completely confused. Summer levitated the package and brought it inside, closing the door behind her. She placed the package on the table and removed the tape from it. Opening the box, she saw two eggs and a red... square like object.
One egg was brown with a white stripe in the center while the other one was white with a very dark brown stripe in the center. "Huh...? Weird... I didn't order any eggs... and certainly not these pokemon eggs, but I can't just put them back out into the streets, who knows what'll happen to them."
Summer knew that there were some ponies in Equestria that saw pokemon as a profit or a weapon; Pokemon smugglers, poachers and other bad guys who would treat pokemon horribly. Leaving the eggs outside would leave them vulnerable to anypony good or bad. So whether Summer wanted to or not, she only had one choice, "Sigh... looks like I'm keeping you two.. great." she grumbled with her ears back, not looking forward to this.
Two Days Later...
The eggs have been with Summer for two days now and ever since then Summer acted as a caretaker to the two eggs. She gently washed the two in warm water, wrapped the two eggs in blankets and slept, curled around the two eggs. As much as she wanted to dislike this, over the two days, she found herself.... a bit... happy. This was weird for her. Normally, she was happy reading her books and practicing her magic, so why was she happy with these two eggs? Summer just didn't have the answer to that question.
In the morning, Summer was rubbed her tail against the two eggs, warming them up. "I guess... taking care of these two isn't so bad..." Summer thought herself. Just then, the two eggs began to glow brightly and Summer carefully moved away from them. The eggs... were hatching. Summer watched as the two eggs broke and changed into two baby pokemon.
The brown egg turned into a brown puppy pokemon with bent ears that were tipped with dark brown. It also had dark brown paws with a white collar with some rocks included in it and it had a white tail with a large curl on the end and blue eyes.
The white eggs turned into a white fluffy sheep pokemon with two large braids that hung down from the sides of its head. It was dark chocolate with four little legs and a cute face.
Summer stared at the two and they blinked at her.
"Rooo?"
"Baaa....?"
"Um.... hi there." Summer greeted awkwardly, waving at the two of them. The brown puppy barked happily and nuzzled Summer's face while the sheep pokemon carefully walked over to her and sniffed her. "What are you two?" Summer looked at her bookshelf and she remembered she had a book with the complete list of pokemon, but before she could get the book,
"I see you've met your pokemon, huh?" an electronic like voice came.
"WAH!" Summer fell off of the bed in shock and the pokemon cried in worry, "I'm okay, but who said that?" Summer asked and then what came in front of her was the red square thing... with a face and a mouth?
"Um... what are you?" Summer asked, confused.
"I am Rotom Dex and I seen you've hatched these two pokemon. I'll gladly tell you who they are." Rotom Dex said and it was pointed at the brown puppy pokemon, "Rockruff, the Puppy Pokemon, a rock type. Rockruff train themselves by running around. When Rockruff is getting ready to evolve, it becomes more aggressive and tends to act more independent." and then Rotom Dex pointed at the white sheep pokemon, "Wooloo, the Sheep Pokemon, a Normal Type. Wooloo don't like conflict and when it needs to escape an enemy, it tends to roll away by curling up."
"Okay... so I hatched a Rockruff and a Wooloo, huh?" Summer stated. Rockruff and Wooloo were two of some pokemon that Summer liked along with a few others. Rockruff and Wooloo walked over to her and nuzzled her,
"Rooo..."
"Baaa..."
Summer heart fluttered a little at the two cute pokemon. Summer reached up and rubbed the two pokemon on their heads. "Hi there, I'm Summer Blaze." Rockruff wagged his tail and barked while Wooloo smiled and gave a 'baaa' happily. Summer gave them a small smile.
Outside Summers' house, there were two ponies staring at her through spyglasses. One pony was black as night with a bandanna on his head. He was an earth pony. He had a small scar on his right cheek and he had a white mane and tail that looked thick and rough. His companion was a unicorn stallion that was gray with a black mane and tail. He didn't look as roughed up as his companion but he did have a bandanna, only this one wasn't on his head, it was one his right foreleg. By their sides were two canine like pokemon. They were both black with a red underbelly and a very short tail and they had what looked like silver rings around their ankles and they had three ring on their back. They growled, seeing their target.
"So, Nightshade, when do we strike?" the companion asked, turning to his partner, who laughed, "We wait until the cover of night, Fang. That's when we strike. We'll get those two pokemon... and sell them for a profit, hahaha!"
That Night....
Summer Blaze was just reading a book in front of her tv, minding her own business while Rotom Dex was charging up his battery and Rockruff and Wooloo were playing in the house nearby.
Knock Knock...
A sudden knock at the door drew everyone's attention. "Huh? Who would come by here in the middle of the night?" Summer asked as she went to answer the door.
"Are you expecting someone?" Rotom Dex asked.
"No.." Summer replied and she opened the door..... only to find nothing but a white case in front of her. "A white briefcase..?" Summer questioned, grabbing the case in her magic before closing the door behind her. Summer turned on the chandler's light and placed the case on the table. "Wonder what's inside of it?" Rotom Dex asked. Rockruff and Wooloo sniffed the case curiously before Summer opened.... revealing 19 metallic and mineral crystals with the insignias of pokemon in the center of them.
Summer gasped in awe at what was in front of her. "What Summer?" Rotom Dex asked.
"T-They're Pokemon Gems, the legendary artifacts known to summon legendary Pokemon...." Summer gasped in awe at the gems.
"From the Legends?! No way!" Rotom Dex gaped.
"I believe so.... but.... why would someone leave them with me?" Summer pondered before....
"So you can just hand them over to us!" Summer gasped, turning around to see Nightshade and Fang with their Houndour Pokemon. Summer screamed at the sight of the four intruders. "How did they get in here?!" Rotom Dex exclaimed in shock. Their pokemon growled at them, "What are they?!" Summer yelled.
Rotom Dex scanned them, "Houndour, the Dark Pokemon and Dark and Fire type. They make repeated eerie howls before dawn to call attention to their pack."
Nightshade and Fang knew they had to act, "Houndour, get that case!" Their Houndour charged forth but Summer grabbed the case and leaped out of the way before Rockruff and Wooloo leaped over them and Rockruff's tail shot out rocks covered in a white glow. it struck the Houndour and they cried in pain. "What was that?"
"That was Rock Throw!" Rotom Dex identified
"Houndour, Ember!" Nightshade and Fang ordered the the Houndour unleashed a flurry of flames. Wooloo scurried in front of Rockruff and curled up into a ball and it glowed orange for a moment.
"Wooloo used Defense Curl and it increased its defense!" Rotom Dex stated. Wooloo rolled over to the Houndour and bashed into them, sending them crashing into the wall. "Ugh!"
"Woah..." Summer gasped.
Rockruff then charged forth and lunged forth with its fangs covered in electricity. "Rockruff is using Thunder Fang! An electric type attack! Amazing!" Rockruff bit one Houndour, shocking it and making it cry in pain. Its companion growled and bashed Rockruff, "Arroooo..." Rockruff fell on the ground.
"Rockruff!" Summer gasped in horror. But Rockruff got up and growled at the Houndour.
"Now Use Fire Spin..!" Nightshade and Fang ordered and the Houndour howled before they coated themselves in fire and charged forth. Rockruff and Wooloo cried out before Wooloo charged forth coated in electricity, "That's Wild Charge!" and Rockruff unleashed Rock Throw. The combination of the four attacks caused a large explosion which sent the Houndour's Fire Spin crashing into one of the walls of Summer's home, causing it to quickly become engulfed in flame. "Oops.." Fang winced, earning him a whack from Nightshade, "Idiot!" he exclaimed before the consumed the whole house and everyone in it.
The ponies and pokemon of Canterlot saw the explosion and were shock and horrified.
"Oh dear, what happened?"
"Isn't that Summer Blaze's house?"
"Somebody alert the Princess..!"
Soon, the ponies saw Rockruff and Wooloo dragging an unconscious Summer Blaze,(who was still holding the case) out from the wrecked house with Rotom Dex nearby. "Oh my goodness!" a mare and her husband rushed over and examined the poor kirin. "Poor dear.." the mare said.
"Arroo."
"Baa.." Rockruff and Wooloo nuzzled Summer Blaze, wanting her to wake up, as the smoke from her destroyed house rose into the night sky.
Summer Blaze began to wake up and her vision was blurry. She could make out something brown and something white and red before her vision cleared, "Ugh... Rockruff? Wooloo? Rotom Dex?"
"Summer, thank goodness you're alright." Rotom Dex said with joy. Rockruff and Wooloo cried happily and Rockruff nuzzled her neck, "Hehe.. easy boy.." Summer said before noticing something missing from her grasp, "W-Where's the case!"
"Don't worry, its right here." Rotom Dex pointed to the case that was on her bedside, much to Summer's relief.
"Well, I see you're awake now." Summer turned and saw a brown pony with a short dark brown mane, wearing a doctor uniform with a stethoscope around his neck. "I'm Doctor Hooves."
"Hi Doctor.." Summer stated, "W-What happened?"
"Well from what we got from the ponies who brought you in, there was a huge explosion in your house, leaving you unconscious and leaving your house...er... well... no more.." Summer's heart skipped a beat, "My house is... gone...?"
"The ponies searched for anything that could have survive the fire and only found this large bookshelf filled with books. It's in the waiting room, by the way." Doctor Hooves stated.
"Good thing I put that shield spell on my bookshelf." Summer mentally sighed in relief. Rockruff and Wooloo nuzzled her, "These little guys were quite worried about you, along with two others.."
"Huh?" Summer asked confused, until she heard,
"Summer?" "Sweetheart?"
Two more kirin entered the room. A male and a female. The female had Summer's mane color except she was tanish brown with white scales on her hooves and back while the male had Summer's hooves and scales color except his coat was fiery red. Their names were Spring Flare and Flash Fire. "Mom? Dad?"
Spring and Flash approached their daughter and hugged her, "Oh honey, we were so worried." Spring stated with tears in her eyes.
"What happened, dear?" Flash asked.
"Well... all I can remember is these two stallion breaking into my house with two Houndour... I think they tried to take the case on the table."
"But why....?" Spring Flare asked.
"Well..... the case holds 19 Pokemon Gems.... the same ones from the legends." Summer replied, much to her parent's shock.
"Those gems hold a lot of power.... if they were to fall into the wrong hands..." Flash Fire said grimly.
"I know dad.... someone gave the case to me.... like to use or protect the gems from danger..." Summer replied before Rockruff and Wooloo nuzzled their trainer. "I see you've finally got some pokemon of your own. A Rockruff and Wooloo." Spring Flare smiled, changing the topic.
"Yeah.....Rockruff and Wooloo fought against those guys to protect me and the case." Summer explained.
"Oh my, that must have been so scary for you.." Spring cooed, rubbing her daughter's mane.
"It was.. kinda, but Rockruff and Wooloo protected me." Summer stated. Rockruff wagged his tail and Wooloo gave a happy 'baaa'. Flash Flare then turned to Doctor Hooves, "So how bad is she?"
"She's not bad at all, just a few burns and scraps, nothing too serious." Doctor Hooves stated with a smile. "She'll be discharged later today. I'll leave for alone." Doctor Hooves exited the room, leaving the kirin family and pokemon alone.
"We heard about your house, honey. We're so sorry..." Spring Flare cooed.
"Y-Yeah... w-where am I gonna live now..?" Summer inquired in a worried tone.
"I believe I have a solution for that." the kirin family turned and saw a tall mare with a muti colored mane and tail wearing yellow shoes, a yellow necklace with a purple gem in the center and a yellow crown with another jewel in the center. "Princess Celestia?" Spring Flare gasped in awe. Summer gaped at the sight of her. She had never actually seen Princess Celestia up close before.
"Good morning, everypony. I believe I have a solution to your housing problem." Princess Celestia said. "I've arranged for you to stay in Ponyville with my prized pupil."
"Ponyville?" Summer asked.
"It's a small town far from Canterlot. It's where my faithful student, Twilight Sparkle, lives in her Castle of Friendship. I'm sure being with her and her friends will help you greatly, Summer Blaze." Princess Celestia explained with a smile.
"T-Thank you Princess." Summer said with sincere voice. Celestia nodded, "Now onto a more serious matter, you said that two ponies broke into your old home?"
Summer nodded, "They had two Houndour with them."
"Can you remember what they look like?"
"Umm... well one was black and the other was grey. The black one had a scar on his cheek and a bandanna on his head. The grey stallion had a bandanna on one of his forelegs." Summer described. "They said they wanted to Pokemon gems inside of the case."
"Hmmm.... thank you Summer Blaze." Princess Celestia said. "Once you've recovered, my guards will take you to your new home, along with your pokemon friends. You must not lose that case or the Pokemon Gems inside of it."
Summer nodded, "I Promise..." and Princess Celestia left the kirin family alone once more. "Looks like I'm moving... again.." Summer sighed.
"Oh honey, it'll be okay." Spring Flare reassured with a smile.
"Yeah, you have two pokemon friends and maybe you'll make some more friends; pokemon and pony." Flash Flare added.
"Yeah.. maybe." Summer said before Wooloo jumped onto her lap and nuzzled her face, "Haha, hey that tickles.. eeee!" Summer cooed. Spring Flare and Flash Fire both smiled at their daughter and the little Wooloo and Rockruff.
"Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on your daughter for you." Rotom Dex said to the couple. They both chuckled, "Thank you." Wooloo and Rockruff turned to the parents, "And you two watch over my daughter too, please?" Flash Fire asked. Rockruff barked and Wooloo nodded.
"Alright honey, we'll let you rest and we'll come back when you're released." Spring Flare stated with a grin and Summer nodded as she watched as her parents exited the room, leaving her to rest. Rockruff and Wooloo looked at her, "Well you guys... I guess... tomorrow... we'll start a new chapter together..." Summer said to them.
Rockruff and Wooloo smiled. "I can't wait to see what Ponyville has in store for us." Rotom Dex smiled, spinning in the air happily.
"Me either, Rotom... me either..." Summer stated.
The Next Day....
Summer's POV
Hi there, I'm Summer Blaze and if you've read the first chapter, you probably know what I'm doing right now, right? Yep, you guessed it, I'm going to Ponyville after my house was blown up after an attack by these two strange stallions who wanted my new case filled with Pokemon Gems from the legend. I know they want them for no good, so I'm suddenly given the responsibility of guarding them, making sure they don't fall into the wrong hands. Luckily, I had a book on the Pokemon Gems, hopefully it'll teach me how to use them.
Now I was placing my suitcases filled with my books into the chariot that was attached to two royal guards, curtsy of Princess Celestia herself.
I can't believe I actually met her yesterday. It was awesome. My mom and Dad were there to see me off. "Will you be okay, without us honey?" Mom asked me and I rolled my eyes playfully. After what happened yesterday, she's been fretting about my safety even though Dad and I told her that Rockruff, Wooloo and Rotom Dex would look after me. "Mom, I'll be okay. I have my pokemon and Rotom Dex to look after me." I reassured, nuzzling my mothers' cheek.
My dad came and put a hoof on her shoulder, "She'll be fine, honey." he reassured. Mom sighed and smiled at me, "Okay honey, just send us a message if you need something."
I chuckled at my mom and hugged her and my Dad. "I will Mom. I love you both."
"We love you two, honey." Dad stated before he kissed me on the cheek. "Now you better get going." I nodded and Rockruff and Wooloo jumped into the chariot with me. The guard neighed and they spread their wings and they took off as I waved goodbye to my Mom and Dad. Once Canterlot was out of sight, I turned back and sighed.
Honestly, I was really nervous. I mean, living in a new place and going to a new school none the less? Talk about a change. I wasn't sure what was in store for me in Ponyville or at this School of Friendship. Rockruff cooed and nuzzled my foreleg and I smiled, rubbing his head, "I'm alright, Rockruff. Just thinking."
"I'm sure you'll have nothing to worry about." Rotom Dex reassured, hovering above my head.
"Yeah.. probably not..." I said with a small smile and I hope he was right.
The chariot landed in front of a large crystal castle that had a large building in the back. I'm guessing that was the School of Friendship Princess Celestia told me about. I climbed out of the chariot along with Rockruff and Wooloo and I levitated my bags out of the chariot. "Thank you sirs." I said to the guards who saluted and flew back to the Canterlot Castle, trailing the chariot behind them. Then I walked up the yellow steps and was about to knock on the door when they opened, revealing a small purple dragon with wings and green scales. "Hello there, you must be Summer Blaze, right?" it asked me.
"Um... yes..." I stated nervously.
"It's alright. No need to be nervous. My name is Spike."
"I'm Summer Blaze."
"I know who you are. Twilight told me already when Celestia wrote to her." Spike smiled cheerfully at me. "She's in the throne room with her friends, come on." Spike said. Rockruff and Wooloo bounded into the castle. "Woah!" Spike fell over and gasped, "Woah, you have pokemon too?!"
"Yeah, Rockruff and Wooloo." I stated with a small smile. The two of them looked around the large hallway and gasped in awe. Woah... even I had to gasp. It was huge and so beautiful. "The throne room is this way, come on." Spike said as he go up. I levitated my bags and followed Spike through the hallway until he opened one door, "Come on." I followed him inside and I placed the boxes and my bags on the side and saw a large table surrounded by six thrones. Sitting in these thrones were six ponies; two earth ponies, two unicorns, two pegasi and one alicorn.
"Hello there." the purple alicorn greeted. "I'm Princess Twilight Sparkle."
"H-Hello, I'm Summer Blaze." I greeted back with a grin.
I looked at the orange earth pony who tilted her cowgirl hat at me, "Howdy, my name is Applejack."
Then the blue pegasus with the rainbow mane stated, "Sup I'm Rainbow Dash."
The white unicorn with the curly purple mane, brushed her mane back and greeted, "The name is Rarity, darling."
The yellow pegasus with a long pink mane, hid part of her face, "I'm Fluttershy, nice to meet you."
And the pink earth pony... came beside me and started bombarding me with questions, "Hi I'm Pinkie Pie and I like parties and surprises, do you like surprises, do you, do you, do you?" Twilight levitated her away, "Pinkie, calm down. You'll scare her." she scolded, giving Pinkie a glare.
"Oops, sorry."
Then I looked at the pink unicorn who had a purple mane and with an aquamarine stripe down the middle. "And I'm Starlight Glimmer, Twilight's student nice to meet you."
Rockruff and Wooloo bounded over blissfully and leaped onto the table. "Roo."
"Baaa.."
Fluttershy immediately cooed at them, "Aww... they are so cute..." she cooed in a sweet voice. Rockruff wagged his tail and barked while Wooloo smiled.
"What the hay are they?" Rainbow questioned, pointing at my two pokemon.
"They are Rockruff and Wooloo." Twilight explained. "Rockruff is known as the Puppy Pokemon, a Rock type who train themselves by running around and are very loyal to their trainers. Wooloo is known as the Sheep Pokemon a normal type. They don't like conflict and when they are presented with danger, they curl up and roll away."
"Hey that's my job!" Rotom Dex whined, shocking the girls.
"And what the hay is that?" Applejack asked, pointing at Rotom Dex.
"I am Rotom Dex. I can tell you everything you need to know about a pokemon." Rotom Dex stated proudly and I rolled my eyes playfully as Rockruff and Wooloo came to my side. I turned to Twilight and asked her, "You know about pokemon too?" Twilight nodded, "Yeah, I have my own afterall. Noctowl!"
"Hooot!" A brown owl like pokemon flew into the throne room and perched itself on Twilight's throne. "Woah.. cool... do your friends have pokemon too or just you?"
"I have one but its back my family's farm helpin out." Applejack stated.
"I have one too but its' chill at my place." Rainbow added.
"Oh me, I don't really need a pokemon since I have alot of my animal friends." Fluttershy stated with a blush and a smile. Rarity and Pinkie just shook their heads.
"Now Princess Celestia said you'll be staying here in Ponyville right?" Twilight asked me, levitating a scroll in front of herself.
"Y-Yeah.." I stammered, nervously.
"Great, you can stay with me and Starlight in the castle along with your pokemon." Twilight grinned. I gave them a nervous smile, "Yeah... hehe."
"Now now sugarcube, don't be all nervous. This place is a hoot and a half!" Applejack exclaimed happily.
"You'll have a great time." Rainbow stated with a determined grin.
"I can throw you a 'Welcome to Ponyville Party!'" Pinkie Pie cheered, throwing confetti into the air. I just nodded stiffly.
POV Ends
Outside the Castle of Friendship, Nightshade and Fang were spying on Summer, "Hmmm.... so she's staying here in Ponyville with the Princess of Friendship and her friends, huh? Well... this might just be fun...." Nightshade chuckled evilly.
"So what's the plan?" Fang asked, earning him a smack from Nightshade.
"Don't you remember? We capture that Kirin and bring her to the boss before she discovers the Aura and Creation Trio Pokemon and realizes her destiny." Nightshade hissed.
"Oh right....." Fang said.
"Now.... all we do now.... is wait..." Nightshade hissed as they continued to spy and wait for the right moment to strike.

Chapter 2: Thorax the Changeling
A week had passed since Summer, Rockruff and Wooloo came to live with Twilight and the others in Ponyville. Twilight gave Summer her own room in the castle which was big enough for her, Rockruff and Wooloo. The room had a dresser on the right side of her bed while there was a small table with a lamp on the left side. Her bed was comfy with big pillows and a beautiful blanket that had a starry night pattern on it. Rockruff and Wooloo had their own little beds and Rotom Dex has his charging station on the dresser as well.
Today, Twilight, Starlight and Spike were taking Summer, Rotom Dex and her pokemon to the Crystal Empire to visit her brother and sister in law, Shining Armor and Princess Cadence, the rulers of the Crystal Empire. Spike was wearing a large coat and hat cause he was popular at the Empire, being called 'Spike the Brave and Glorious' after he saved the Crystal Empire from King Sombra when it first returned by getting the Crystal Heart to Princess Cadence in time.
The train stopped at the station and the group got off of the train and entered the Crystal Empire. When they entered the city, they saw that it looked like a ghost town. There wasn't anypony outside at all. "That's weird where is everypony?" Twilight asked, wondering where everypony was.
"Odd..." Summer said.
"I can explain, everypony." a voice said and Summer saw a white unicorn with dark blue hooves and a mane and tail that were also dark blue with a lighter blue stripe in them, wearing a royal guard uniform with a shield cutie mark coming beside an alicorn female who was wearing golden shoes and had a pink with a purple, yellow and pink mane and tail whose cutie mark was a crystal heart coming towards them alongside a crystal pony guard and another male unicorn. This one was a bright orange with a darker orange mane, tail and bread whose cutie mark looked like a sun reflecting rays. He also had white hooves as well.
Summer had been told about Crystal Ponies and their crystal magic, which gives them their crystal shiny coats. "Oh, Cadance, thank goodness! What's going on?" Twilight asked.
"We can explain, Twily... if it really is you." Shining Armor said before he looked at his wife and nodded towards her. Cadence nodded and went over to Twilight before doing a special dance, "Sunshine, sunshine...ladybugs awake! Clap your hooves and do a little shake! Mmm!" She and Twilight did together before they hugged each other.
"It's okay, everypony. It's her." Shining Armor said with relief.
"Of course it's her! What's all this about?" Starlight asked, going over to Sunburst who was carrying a small baby carrier in his magic which held Flurry Heart, Shining Armor and Princess Cadence's baby. She was an alicorn filly with cute chubby cheeks and a tiny muzzle, light grayish magenta fur with tinges of pale light grayish fuchsia, a curled mane and tail with a gradient mixture of light cerise to grayish violet with light arctic blue streaks, and big cute light opal eyes. Her wings were huge as well.
"A changeling's been spotted nearby." Sunburst replied.
"A changeling?!" Twilight exclaimed.
"What's a Changeling?" Summer questioned.
"It a really bad bug like pony that feeds off of love." Spike said.
"Yes, Spike is correct. After Queen Chrysalis took my place at our wedding and invaded Canterlot with her army of minions, we're not taking any chances." Princess Cadence said.
"Changelings feed off of love. And ever since Flurry Heart's Crystalling, the Empire is filled with more love than anywhere in Equestria. It's possible they've come for the baby." Sunburst said, looking at the sleeping baby, who started to awake.
"That's why we posted the extra guards, and why we're—" Shining Armor began before Twilight finished for him, "Checking everypony's identity.
"I'm sorry for all of this. Flurry Heart's really been looking forward to seeing you." Cadence said as Twilight came over and Flurry Heart cooed at the sight of her Aunt.
Flurry Heart giggled at her Aunt before she spotted Summer and her pokemon. Flurry Heart cooed before she fluttered out of her carrier and onto Wooloo, hugging her wool. "Awww... Flurry Heart loves Wooloo." Twilight cooed at the sight.
"Baaa..." Wooloo smiled at the tiny alicorn filly.
"I'm guessing you must be Summer Blaze, the kirin?" Shining Armor asked Summer and she nodded, "Y-Yeah... I'm living with Twilight, Starlight and Spike now.
"Well, we're glad to have you and your Pokemon here in the Crystal Empire, Summer." Shining Armor said. "You can look around if you want, just be careful." Summer nodded.
"Okay, thank you. I'll have Wooloo stay here so he can play with your little baby." Summer said, seeing Flurry Heart nuzzling Wooloo's warm wool. Cadence and Shining Armor chuckled. "Rockruff, come on buddy..."
"Rockruff..!" Rockruff barked before he followed his kirin trainer as they explored the Frozen North together. They weren't very far from the Crystal Empire and saw nothing but snow, which was very new for Summer since in the Peaks of Peril, it was always warm and humid there with vegetation all around. Seeing snow, and ice for the first time was a big change for Summer, but she didn't mind at all.
"Hmmm... wonder what a Changeling actually looks like, huh Rockruff?" Summer asked her Puppy Pokemon. Rockruff shrugged not knowing what a Changeling would look like. However, his ears perked up at something nearby, "Rockruff...!"
"What is it boy?" Summer asked Rockruff. The Puppy Pokemon lead her to a small cavern that was underneath the snow that had ice crystal and gems inside of it as well. "H-Hello...? Anypony here...?" Summer called out.
"W-Whose there...?" a timid voice came.
"Um.... I'm Summer Blaze... a Kirin.... I'm not a threat to you..." Summer called back. Summer and Rockruff heard footsteps coming near them and out came a male Changeling who had blue eyes. "Oh, you're a Changeling."
"Yeah...." the Changeling sighed. "It's okay. I know you don't wanna be friends." he fluttered his wings and prepared to leave but Summer called to him, "Wait! Don't go, Changeling."
"My name is Thorax." Thorax said as he landed on the ground again.
"What's wrong? You seem sad and lonely here..." Summer asked, seeing his sad look.
Thorax sighed, folding his ears, "All I've ever wanted is a friend. From the moment I first split my egg in the nursery hive...I was part of the attack on Canterlot during the royal wedding, but I'd never seen true friendship like that! And I couldn't just steal it and feed on its love. I wanted to share it! After that, I knew I couldn't live with my kind anymore. I set off looking for love to share, but..."
"But... what?" Summer asked.
"I'm starving! And there's so much love in the Crystal Empire right now. It's what drew me here! But it's drivin' me crazy!" Thorax exclaimed.
"That would be from that Royal Crystalling thing they held a while back. It's pretty much a giant outpouring of light and love for a new baby." Summer said before Thorax hissed at her but Summer didn't flinch in fear as Thorax controlled himself. "Oh, sorry! I'm just so hungry! If I had a friend, maybe the love we shared could sustain me, but I don't think the Crystal Ponies want to be friends."
Summer and Rockruff felt bad for Thorax. He was the kind of Changeling that wanted to change for the better despite what the Changelings did at the Royal Wedding in Canterlot. Summer knew that Thorax was a nice Changeling but Twilight and the others wouldn't think that based on what happened during the Royal Wedding.
"Well... maybe Rockruff, Wooloo and I could be your friends, Thorax." Summer offered, much to Thorax's surprise.
"R-Really?" Thorax asked.
Summer nodded, "Yeah, I can tell you're not like the other Changelings and that you want to change your entire kind for the better to live in peace and not cause war or harm to others."
Thorax smiled with tears appearing in his eyes. "T-Thank you...."
Summer nodded. "But everyone is still looking for you cause they spotted you nearby."
"S-So what do we do?" Thorax asked Summer. Summer thought for a moment. She could take Thorax inside the palace in disguise, but that might be a huge risk, if the pair would come across Flurry Heart who would be emitting a lot of love from her Crystalling that it might cause Thorax to lose control of himself and cancel his disguise.... but if Thorax already had enough love to sustain him through his friendship with Summer, then he wouldn't need to take love from anypony else and it would show everypony that there is hope for Changeling kind.
"Well... how about this... I continue to share my love with you through my friendship until your satisfied enough that you won't lose control of yourself. Then once you are ready, we'll go into the Crystal Empire with you in disguise so that no pony will know that its you and when the time is right, you can reveal yourself to everypony." Summer explained.
"Huh.....? So... once I feel full from your friendship, then I won't feel hungry anymore so everypony will see that Changelings' aren't all that bad and maybe I can be accepted into the Crystal Empire." Thorax smiled, seeing Summer's plan. "Great plan, Summer."
Summer nodded, "Your welcome."
And so that's what Summer did for Thorax for the next three days in the Crystal Empire. While Twilight, Starlight, Spike and the others searched for the Changeling in the city and palace, Summer would sneak off to the Ice Cavern where Thorax was hiding and they would spend time together. Thorax would show her some of the precious Ice crystals he found while exploring the cavern and Summer would show Thorax some of the magic spells that she knew and there were a lot of spells that she did know, from Transfiguration spells, to teleportation and even levitation.
Thorax was impressed with Summer's magical arsenal and her skills in magic. "I wish Changelings knew as much about magic as you do Summer? How'd you learn about so much magic?"
"I've studies magic for years in the Kirin Village before I decided to go to Equestria and live in Canterlot to advance my studies. It really helped alot." Summer explained.
"I'm impressed." Thorax smiled.
"And I'm surprise that you can change into anything at will; whether pony or inanimate object. It's incredible. I wish there was a spell that could allow me to do that." Summer pondered.
"Well maybe there is but you just haven't found it yet." Thorax smiled at Summer, who smiled back. "Yeah, guess I'll just have to keep looking." Thorax nodded at Summer as they continued to spend time together.
After about a week of searching Twilight and the gang were not very successful in finding the Changeling. "Oh this is gonna take forever to find the Changeling." Twilight groaned in dismay.
"Well, it is a Changeling. They're mastered at blending in cause they can change into anything and be in plain sight." Shining Armor said to his sister.
"I just wish we had a small lead as to where the Changeling was hiding, then it would be easier to capture it." Cadence wondered.
"I'm sure you'll find out a way soon... anyway, I'm gonna go and explore some more. Come on, Rockruff." Summer stated and Rockruff barked happily at her before he followed Summer.
"Well at least Summer's enjoying this trip." Twilight smiled.
"Yeah...." Starlight smiled before she realized something, "Wait.... has anypony noticed that Summer and Rockruff have been exploring way more lately?"
"What do you mean?" Spike asked.
"I mean at first Summer and Rockruff were just exploring for about an hour before they came back, but now they've been gone for more and more hours at a time." Starlight said. "Isn't that a bit worrisome?"
"Well, exploring can take sometime." Twilight defended. "But it does seem odd know that I think about it. What do you think they could be up to?"
"I don't know.... but let's find out...." Starlight smirked at the group.
Soon, Twilight, Starlight, Spike, Cadence, Shining Armor and two royal guards trailed Summer and Rockruff from a distance so they wouldn't notice they were being followed. They saw Summer and Rockruff go underneath the snow and disappear. "Huh? They went underneath the snow? How is that possible?" Spike asked.
"There are large Ice Caverns underneath the snow, but they're hard to pinpoint since you have to fall through a hole to figure out if one's there." Cadence explained.
"Why would Summer and Rockruff go in there?" Shining Armor asked.
"I don't know, Shining Armor, but let's find out." Twilight suggested and the group carefully went inside the Ice Cavern and hid on the side, peeking out from behind to see Summer and Rockruff.... talking to the Changeling they've been looking for!
Starlight gasped, "Summer and Rockruff have been talking with the Changeling!"
"We have to save them!" Spike exclaimed, but Twilight grabbed him in his magic before he could rush out. "Wait Spike..."
"What is it Twily?" Shining Armor asked.
"Look at the Changelings' wings." Twilight whispered, pointing to Thorax's wings which were now crystalline and sparkling. "They're.... crystalline... normally Changeling wings are transparent but that Changelings' wings are crystalline."
"He probably was feeding on her and Rockruff's love." Spike suggested bitterly.
"If that was true then Summer and Rockruff would have been returning to us, really frail and weak, but they look the same just as they left. Something else is going on." Twilight pondered as the group eavesdropped on the conversation. "Thank you for helping me, Summer." Thorax thanked.
"It's what friends do for each other, Thorax. Whether pony or Changeling." Summer smiled. Rockruff barked happily, wagging his tail. Thorax smiled while buzzing his wings. "It's really nice to know that somepony wanted to be friends with me. That's all I really wanted and now thanks to you, I don't feel hungry anymore."
Twilight and the group looked at each other in awe and shock.
"Well no matter what may have happened in the past, you can't let that cloud your judgement on someone you haven't gotten to know or let you jump to hurtful conclusions." Summer told Thorax. "Hopefully, Twilight and the other ponies will realize that too once I introduce you to them..."
"Actually....." Thorax and Summer turned and saw Twilight and the others looking at them. "You already have." Thorax gasped in fear before it turned into a rock and fell on the ground. "It's okay Thorax, we know your not a threat to the Crystal Empire."
A pair of eyes appeared on the rock and Thorax changed back into himself. "Y-You do....?" Thorax asked nervously.
"Yes, we heard what Summer and Rockruff have been doing to help you, Thorax and she's right we shouldn't let what happened at the Wedding effect how we feel about Changelings in the present because some of them can be nice, just like you." Twilight smiled as she came closer to the pair.
Summer and Rockruff smiled along with Thorax. "On behalf of the Crystal Empire, I would like to extend my hoof in friendship, and I'm sure all of my subjects are eager to do the same." Princess Cadence announced and the two guards cheered happily.
Thorax smiled brightly once again, "Welcome to the Crystal Empire, Thorax. I'm sorry we didn't take the time to get to know you. Maybe we can change that now." Shining Armor offered which Thorax happily agreed to, "That'd be so amazing! I want to know all about friendship, and maybe one day I can take that knowledge back to the Changeling Kingdom! If my kind learned how to create love for one another, maybe they wouldn't have to take it from others!"
"I think that's a great idea." Twilight smiled at Summer and Rockruff happily.

My Little Pokemon: Friendship is Magic
A week had passed since Summer and Rockruff befriended Thorax at the Crystal Empire. The male changeling was so happy to have more friends with him now and Summer knew that he would achieve his goal one day thanks to her. Now Summer was just walking through Ponyville with Rockruff and Wooloo, just exploring her new home.
“So Summer what the plan for today?” Rottom Dex asks floating next to her as they explore ponyville.
“Well... I might as well try to figure out more about the Pokemon Gems, since I have them now." Summer replied. "I’ve only been in Ponyville for a week anyway."
Rotom Dex nodded and Summer teleported back to her room and went over to her bookshelf and took out the book that had the information about Pokemon Gems on it. "Hmm.... The Pokemon Gems harness the power of Legendary Pokemon and whomever uses them are automatically bonded to said Legendary Pokemon, being able to utilize their signature attacks and summon them at will. If the gems are placed within an item that can harness their power, they shall be more effective that way."
"Woah.... so you're able to use the attacks of Legendary Pokemon?" Rotom Dex gasped.
"Depends on the Pokemon Gems.... let's see exactly which Pokemon Gems I got..." Summer replied, going over to the case and opening it. Inside the case it held 23 Pokemon Gems.
The respective Pokemon were; Suicune, Raikou, Entei, Ho-Oh, Giratina, Dialga, Palkia, Lugia, Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyruem, Rayquaza, Kyoge, Groudon, Latias, Latios, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde and Cresselia.
"Wow.... look at them all...." Summer gasped.
"Incredible..." Rotom Dex gasped. "They're the Legendary Pokemon of Kanto, Unova, Kalos and Hoenn."
“Oooh, what do we have here? A Kirin with the Legendary Pokemon Gems?" a voice came from around them.
"Whose there?" Summer called out, quickly closing the case.
"Don't worry I won't take them." a voice replied before here was a flash of light before the owner of the voice appeared in front of Summer revealing themselves as the one and only spirit of chaos and disharmony. “Hello there my dear."
“Huh? Who are you?” Summer asked.
“You can call me Discord, the Lord of Chaos.” Discord smirked floating above Summer and her friends.
“Discord?” Summer echoed.
“I’m guessing you haven’t heard of me huh well that’s a shame here I thought that everyone had already heard of me?”
“Maybe Equestrian News doesn’t reach that far everywhere?” Says a clone of discord that appeared out of nowhere. Summer and her Pokémon just stated at Discord for a moment. “So you're friends with Twilight and the others?” Summer asked.
“Well yes sort of but I’m mostly friends with dear old Fluttershy.” Discord said, summoning up a picture of him and Fluttershy. “And in matter of fact she’s the one that told me about you during one of our tea party we always have.” He says conjuring up a floating chair and a cup of tea as he sat down on the floating chair.
“Oh. Okay.” Summer said.
“Mmhmm and she even told me about that incident you had back at Canterlot.” He says taking a sip of his tea as he looked at Summer.
"Oh...." Summer winced. "Yeah...."
"Oh think nothing of it, little kirin. Now
"My sincerest sympathy, my dear Summer, but you should at least know that the two stallions that wrecked your house might return." Discord said, surprising Summer.
"Yeah... I know... for the Pokemon Gems." Summer said grimly.
"I'm still surprised that a Kirin like you got a hold of such powerful items." Discord said, floating above the two. "You know, you should really have an item that can hold those things."
"Umm.... I have the case..." Summer replied slowly.
"I mean something that can harness their power in battle and allow you to summon said Pokemon. Such as...." Discord snapped his fingers and appeared a long sword with a winged guard that held seven empty spaces that looked to be able to fit the Pokemon Gems inside of it. "This..."
"Woah....." Summer gasped, grabbing the sword in her magic.
"This should aid you greatly, little Kirin." Discord smirked before he snapped his fingers and placed, Giratina, Dialga, Palkia, Suciune, Raikou, Entei and Lugia's Pokemon Gems inside of the guard.
"Wow.... t-thanks..." Summer replied with a smile.
"Oh think nothing of it, little kirin. I do hope we can talk more in the near future but I must be going now tah tah.” And with that, Discord vanished with the snap of his fingers.
Rotom and Summer looked at each other for a moment, "Okay..... so... that was weird..." Rotom Dex said.
"Yeah, but at least I have something that can use the Pokemon Gems." Summer said looking at her sword.
"Wonder what I should call it?" Summer questioned.
"You're going to name your sword?" Rotom Dex deadpanned.
"Hey, it's mine now. It's only apporpriate." Summer defended. "I'm gonna call it..... the PokeSword."
"Very original...." Rotom Dex deadpanned and Summer smacked him into the Window of her bed room. "OW....uhh....." he groaned as he slid down the window.
Later on, the group were walking near the Everfree Forest together with Summer wearing a strap with a seath for her new PokeSword on her right side. As they were walking past, Rockruff picked up something, "Rockruff..!"
"Rockruff? What is it?" Summer asked before the group of four saw an explosion nearby and two cries, "Rio..!" "Reep!" Smoke could be seen from nearby the Everfree Forest as both Wooloo and Rockruff ran towards it.
“I think someone in trouble!” Rotom as he follow Rockruff and Wooloo.
"Wait for me!" Summer called as she chased after the three.
Rockruff stopped at a clearing as the others caught up. "Rockruff?" Summer looked ahead and gasped, seeing Nightshade and Fang again with their Houndour attacking two Pokemon. The first one a small, blue, canine Pokémon. It has a black torso and legs, a blue tail, and a yellow collar. It has rounded bumps on the backs of its forepaws. It has a black "mask" and red eyes. It stands on its toes instead of its entire foot. It also has two black appendages that hang down from its head.
The second pokemon is a sheep-like Pokémon with fluffy cream-colored wool covering its entire body, as well as a curly tuft of wool in the middle of its head. Its head is blue, and it has black eyes. Its four feet are blue and have two digits on each foot, and it appears to be on tiptoe at all times. Its conical ears and tail have a yellow-and-black striped pattern. It also has an orange sphere at the end of its tail.
"Rio..!" "Reep..!"
“Houndour use Fire Spin.” “Use Dark Pulse.”
Both Fang and Nightshade's Pokémon did as they were ordered and attacked the two Pokémon as they try to defend themselves. "Rotom, what are those two Pokemon?" Summer asked.
"Riolu, the Emanation Pokemon. A Fighting type. It can discern the physical and emotional states of people, Pokémon, and other natural things from the shape of their aura waves.
Mareep, the Wool Pokemon. An Electric type. Its fluffy coat swells to double when static electricity builds up. Touching it can be shocking." Rotom Dex explained.
Summer concluded that Riolu and Mareep were young Pokemon, hearing their high voices and with their sizes. "Poor things, I can't let those stallions harm the little ones." Summer said.
“These Pokémon will fetch a great price don’t you agree, Fang?” Nightshade said with a evil grin on his face as both Riolu and Mareep were to weak defend themselves now. “Haha yeah I agree with you there Nightshade and now that they’re to weak to defend themselves now I say that we wrap this up.” Fang said as he and Nightshade were getting ready to do the finishing blow on the two Pokémon
“Rockruff, Rock Throw quick and Wooloo, Wild Charge!” Summer called and her two Pokémon intervened by Rockruff hitting the Houndour with a super effective Rock Throw and Wooloo ramming them away with Wild Charge.
“What you, what are you doing here?” Nightshade said glaring at Summer for stopping their attacks on the two Pokémon.
“Heh so you want to be a hero, huh? Fine than once we defeat you we’ll take your Pokémon like we try to before than take those other two!” Nightshade said with a grin on his face as his Houndour was ready to attack.
“Hey Nightshade what do you think the boss will give us if we not only capture her Pokémon but her as well?” Fang smirked evilly as his Houndour was ready to attack as well.
“That won’t happen!” Summer exclaimed, “Rockruff, Rock Throw once more!”
“Flamethrower, dark pulse!” Both Nightshade and Fang commanded as their Houndour did what they were told. Rockruff’s Rock Throw countered the Flamethrower but the Dark Pulse struck Rockruff, “Rooo..!”
“Rockruff, hang in there little guy.” Summer called and Wooloo nuzzled the Puppy Pokemon
“Houndour use Bite on Wooloo!” Nightshade commanded his Houndour and it ran straight for Wooloo.
“Riolu...” A blue sphere of energy was shot at Nightshade's Houndour, who was knocked away from Wooloo. "What?!" Nightshade exclaimed before Riolu ran up to his Houndour and touched him with his right palm, which unleashed a large amount of energy sending the Houndour flying and knocking him out!
"That was Force Palm!" Rotom Dex exclaimed.
"Riiii....oluuuuuuu!" Riolu cried as he launched the same sphere of blue energy at Fang's Houndour and knocked it out in one blow! "That was Aura Sphere, a move Riolu rarely know unless they evolve into Lucario!" Rotom Dex added.
Nightshade and Fang growled at the Riolu, but the Emanation Pokemon snarled at them, "Darn that Riolu!" Nightshade exclaimed as he and Fang returned their Houndour.
“You’ll pay for this mark my words you’ll pay for this Summer!” Nightshade says as him and through down a smoke ball that caused smoke to cover around them.
When they were gone, Summer sighed in relief. Riolu limped over to Mareep to help it up as the both of them were badly hurt when Nightshade and Fang attacked them.
“Don’t worry little ones. I’ll get you some help.” Summer cooed, picking the pokemon up with her magic before rushing them to Fluttershys.
At Fluttershy's cottage, Fluttershy was attending to all her animal friends as she was in the middle of feeding them when Summer came running “Fluttershy! Fluttershy!”
Fluttershy turned and saw Summer, Rockruff, Wooloo and Rotom Dex and spotted the injured Riolu and Mareep on Summer's back. "Oh my goodness, what happened?" Fluttershy gasped.
"It was those two stallions from before. They were attacking them so they could capture and sell them but I intervened. But their badly hurt."
"Oh dear, I'll take a look." Fluttershy cooed, grabbed the injured Pokemon before they all rushed inside.
Soon, Riolu and Mareep had a few bandages on their bodies and were healing, "These two will be just fine." Fluttershy smiled happily.
Summer was relived, "Thank goodness."
Fluttershy nodded and the two pokemon cooed at Sarah, "Rio..." "Reep...."
"What is it little guys?" Summer asked.
"I think they wanna go with you, Summer." Fluttershy smiled. Riolu and Mareep nodded happily and Summer was surprised, but Rockruff and Wooloo smiled at the two of them, wanting them to come along.
"Well... I can't say no to these little guys..." Summer smiled and Riolu and Mareep smiled happily.
