Speedy Academy.
The Aerobics Competition
Previous ChapterNext ChapterToday was the auditions for the Aerobics competition; a contest that puts the fastest, the strongest and the best at sports in another competition against other schools. First was who could fly five laps around huge track first.
“On your marks...” Coach Basket started.
‘I hope I don’t come last.’ I thought.
“Get set...” Coach added.
‘What if I do come last?’ I thought.
“Go!” Coach finished. As soon as he said go, I spread out my wings and zoomed. I was on to my second lap before almost all of the ponies got half way through the first! I finished the five laps in a matter of seconds!
“Am I first?” I asked as I looked around. “I am!” After a few seconds, Rainbow Dash finished her fifth lap.
“At least I’m not last!” Dash said.
After everypony else finished the five laps, we had a new test of speed.
“Whoever runs five laps and gets back here first is the winner!” Coach told us.
‘What if I’m not good at running?’ I thought.
“On your marks, get set, go!” Coach said. When he said ‘go’, I galloped off. I started off really fast, and got faster and faster! I finished the five laps in two seconds!
“Wow!” I said. “I guess I’m a good runner!” About a minute later, Rainbow Dash finished, looking tired.
“You’re... fast!” Dash panted.
“I know!” I replied, trying not to sound like I was gloating.
The next competition was to see who was the strongest. I won that, too! I won every competition, and Dash always came a close second.
“The ponies who will compete are...” Coach read his sheet of paper, saying who will compete. “Speedy Gal,” I jumped into the air and smiled. “Rainbow Dash,” Dash cheered for herself. “Soarin’,” "Soarin’ smiled. “And Spitfire!” Spitfire had a slightly arrogant smile on her face.
Later that day, me and the others who won the competition where in a train to the next competition.
“What do you think it’ll be like there?” I asked.
“It’ll be awesome!” Dash answered as she lied down on her part of her and my bunk bed.
“Yeah!” Spitfire agreed.
“Yeah... Awesome...” I trailed off.
“What’s wrong?”Dash asked.
“I miss Jam.” I admitted, sadly.
“Who’s Jam?” Spitfire asked.
“He’s her boyfriend!” Dash answered for me, with a mocking voice.
“Rainbow Dash!” I yelled. I used my magic to levitate her.
“Put me down!” Dash yelled. “I don’t like being in the air if I’m not controlling it!”
“Then don’t mock Strawberry Jam and me!” I yelled.
“Uh, I think you should put her down.” Spitfire advised.
“Why?” I asked.
“You’ll wake up Soarin’.” Spitfire replied.
“Fine.” I reluctantly agreed. I let Dash go and she crashed on the floor.
“Hey!” Dash yelled.
“Shh! You’ll wake up Soarin’!” I loudly whispered.
“Girls!” Spitfire yelled. “I don’t like fighting!” Her fiery mane looked like it was growing.
“’I don’t like fighting’!” Dash mocked.
“Grr!” Spitfire growled. She hit Dash with her tail, burning her light blue coat.
“Ow!” Dash screamed. “Your mane and tail are actually fire!”
“You can’t burn me!” I said. I used my magic to put a force field around myself. I stuck my tongue out at her.
“I’ll get you sooner or later!” Spitfire yelled. Her mane returned to normal and she walked to her bed.
“You’re lucky you’re an alicorn!” Dash admitted.
“I know!” I replied. I put a force field around Spitfire and got rid of the one around me. “Ha!” I stuck my tongue out.
“Let me out!” Spitfire yelled as she banged on the edge of her force field.
“Will you burn me?” I asked.
“No!” Spitfire promised. I let her out.
“I wish my friends were here.” I said.
“I’m not your friend?” Dash asked.
“You are,” I started. “I just meant, my best, best friends!”
“Like who?” Dash asked.
“Like Derpy, Mistletoe, June.” I said in example.
“What about me?” Spitfire asked.
“I only met you today!” I reasoned.
“So?” Spitfire asked.
“Ugh...” I groaned.
We knew we got there when the door opened. We all walked out.
The first competition was the running race, and I of course was chosen to run it.
“On your marks, get set, go!” A purple female pegasus with a whistle cutie mark said. I sped off, and quickly took the lead, but a few seconds in, a male green pegasus caught up to me.
“Oh, no you don’t!” I said to him. I ran even faster, but so did he.
“Not so fast, alicorn!” He yelled. That sentence brought back memories.
“Hahaha!” A black filly earth pony laughed at me. I was the same age as her.
“Alicorn!” A purple unicorn colt mocked. I started to cry, as I couldn't believe they made fun of me because I was an alicorn instead of the fact that I was a blank flank at the time. Of course, I couldn't cast magic at the time, though.
“Argh!” I growled. I ran as fast as I could. Dust was left behind me. I ran so fast that I ran five extra laps. I finished my 25, and extra five, laps before anypony else finished their first! I skidded to a stop. Everypony watching were slack jawed! Even I was surprised at myself, but I acted as if I knew I could do that.
“And the winner is, Speedy Gal!” The pegasus with the whistle cutie said. She put a gold medal around my neck.
As the time of the competition past, I won seven gold medals; Spitfire won two gold and five silver; Soarin’ won one gold and six silver and Dash won four gold and three silver.
“I think we did well!” Soarin’ said before they announced the winning school.
“We won fourteen gold medals!” Dash replied.
“They’re going to announce soon!” Spitfire said. We flew to where they were announcing the winning school.
“And the winner is...” The purple pegasus started. Everypony who was competing looked hopefully at her. “Flight Academy!”
“Yes!” I cheered as I leaped into the air. I high hoofed Dash. The four of us flew over to her and she gave Spitfire a trophy.
“We won!” She cheered as she raised it in the air.
“We won!” I chanted, over and over again.
“I can’t wait to tell the school!” Dash admitted.
“Me neither.” Spitfire trailed off as she walked towards me. Her mane grew again.
“Spitfire!” I started. “Don’t burn me!” I flew up to the top of the train cart, but she followed me. She hit me with her tail, but it didn’t hurt! “Was that supposed to burn me?”
“Yes!” Spitfire yelled angrily. She flew back to the floor.
“You’re unburnable!” Dash said as I flew back to the floor, giggling.
“Maybe we should get some sleep.” I suggested. I couldn’t be bothered to say that ‘Unburnable’ wasn’t a word.
When we got back to school, I ran to find Jam.
“Jam?” I yelled. “Jam?” I looked around, but couldn’t find him.
“Speedy?” Derpy asked.
“Hi, Derpy!” I greeted. “Do you know where Jam is?”
“Uh...” Derpy started. “He doesn’t go to this school anymore.”
“What?” I said in shock.
To be continued.
