Sunset recoiled in shock. The revelation that Pinkie was a lesbian was a bit surprising, but the person she loved was all the more so. Pinkie and Fluttershy were so utterly disparate and so detached from the norm. One was a hyperactive party planner who loved balloons, cake, and extremely colorful displays of sociality. The other was a quiet, kind, shy person who much preferred the company of animals to anything overly exaggerated. One wore free fitting clothes, leaving very little to the imagination, as a sign of her bubbly attitude and willingness to travel where life took her. The other wore a modest dress with small butterflies printed on its blue canvas. Their lives were different, their smiles were different, and even their minds were different.

Yet it seemed Pinkie had found some niche she could attach herself to. Sunset found the sudden thought somewhat parasitic, both in nature and in existence. She mentally waved a hand through the clouded conjuration, trying to get it to go away. But no matter what she did, it would not leave. She suddenly began seeing Pinkie and Fluttershy holding hands, kissing, and even having sexual encounters. Vaginal coitus was shared between the two, and Sunset suddenly became very disassociated from her own lungs. Breaths came in sharp, rapid bursts, and she quickly saw her pink friend get up and grab her by the shoulders.

“Sunset, are you alright?!” Pinkie asked, worry painted on her face.

“I’m-fine,” Sunset panted.

“You sure? ‘Cause…ya don’t look fine to me,” Pinkie said.

“No, really, I’m good,” Sunset said, placing a hand on Pinkie’s and slowly drawing her away, “I’m just a little…spooked, to be honest.”

“Spooked?”

“I mean, you’re in love with Fluttershy?”

“Yeah,” Pinkie said, blushing deeply, “I am. Truth is, I’ve been in love with her for quite some time now. Ever since I noticed just how beautiful her eyes were, I’ve loved her.”

“But love is much deeper than pretty eyes,” Sunset pointed out.

“Oh, I know that,” Pinkie said, “I just…don’t really know how to express my knowledge. I know I love her, I just don’t know how to tell her.”

“Wow…that’s original,” Sunset said, rolling her eyes.

“Oh, come on, Sunny!” Pinkie said, “I really need your help with this one!”

“Okay, okay, okay,” Sunset said, “look, if you really wanna tell Fluttershy the truth, then just come out and tell her. Don’t be fancy, don’t play at it, and don’t be too overt. Treat it with gentility and the trueness of your heart. That’s how I told Flash I loved him.”

“Really?” Pinkie asked, “it’s…that simple?”

“Well,” Sunset said, “I wouldn’t call it simple. Love is very complicated. Don’t let its superficial sense of simplicity fool you. But all the same, going through life with someone is a whole hell of a lot better than doing it alone; and, who knows? Fluttershy might feel the same way.”

“You think she could?” Pinkie asked.

“Yeah, I do,” Sunset responded, “because I know you, and the more I think about it, you two do share some things in common. But the biggest thing you have is each other, and you need to act on that. So go. Go and tell Fluttershy the absolute truth!”

“Okay,” Pinkie said as she got up, “…wish me luck!”

“Good luck!” Sunset called as Pinkie ran out.

It didn’t take long for Pinkie to find Fluttershy. Of course, the animal lover was in the park, surrounded by all of the adorable creatures that inhabit such places. Pinkie couldn’t help but smile at the sheer and soft loveliness of the scene. Fluttershy was perched on a bench, blinking her beautiful eyes and speaking words of kindness to all the creatures around her. Restraining her inner fiery lover, Pinkie approached her secret love and settled beside her. The birds chirped away in the heights behind them. Squirrels, chipmunks, and all manner of woodland animals formed a semicircle around the two. It took a moment, but Fluttershy finally registered that she was no longer alone on her bench.

“Oh, Pinkie,” she said, “sorry, I didn’t see you come up.”

“That’s okay,” Pinkie said as her nerves began building, “I just…needed to tell you something.”

“Oh? What is it?”

“Um…uh…” Pinkie said, entranced by Fluttershy’s blue gaze and gorgeous face, “I…I mean…um…”

“Cat got your tongue?” Fluttershy asked kindly, “if so, it’s alright. I get nervous all the time. A little trick I know of is to imagine the person I’m speaking with…well…um…in their underwear.”

Pinkie’s face went beet red as she mentally undressed Fluttershy. Different combinations of bras and panties flashed before her eyes, all tied together by the kind girl’s smooth skin. Pinkie felt her hands go numb and she was sure she’d broken out in a cold sweat. She still didn’t know what to say to this girl. After all, she’d be exposing her own lesbianism and confessing love all in the same sentence! Her mind began to toy with itself, exacerbating her sexuality as she fantasized about Fluttershy’s breasts. She suddenly began experiencing her own episode regarding shortness of breath, and she fell to her knees and stared at the ground. Her stomach was in a very tight knot, one that her body could not support, and soon enough its contents lay on the dirt in front of her.

Fluttershy instantly bent down to support her friend. “Pinkie, what’s wrong?! Are you sick?!”

“Yes!” Pinkie suddenly cried, tears streaming as her mind finally broke, “yes, I’m sick! I’m lovesick, Fluttershy! I’m fucking lovesick!”

“Hey, hey,” Fluttershy cooed, “now, come on. There’s no need for language. I’m right here, just tell me what’s on your mind.”

“You are, damn it!” Pinkie yelped as she fell into Fluttershy’s embrace, “you are…”

“I am? But, why?”

“Because I love you, Fluttershy!” Pinkie said as she buried her head into Fluttershy’s gentle hold, “I love you…”

“Love?” Fluttershy asked, “you…love me?”

“Yes,” Pinkie said, feeling a lot better now that everything was out in the open. “Yes, I do.”

“Oh, Pinkie,” Fluttershy said, suddenly twisting her head around Pinkie’s own, “I love you too.”

“You do?!” Pinkie asked in shock.

“Yes,” Fluttershy responded with a smile, “I do. I just wasn’t sure how to bring it up. Pinkie, I love everything about you. Your bubbliness, your excitement, your joy…it’s all just infectious!”

“Oh, Fluttershy,” Pinkie said as happy tears worked their way from her eyes, “I…I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy.”

“Me either, Pinkie,” Fluttershy said as she pulled Pinkie into a soft kiss.
