Miles, a 16 year old boy with no end of problems from the age of 7, stands at full height of 6 ft at the edge of a cliff near his foster home. His short, brown hair flicks in the wind, his ocean blue eyes filled with tears. He wasn't a strong boy, nor was he slim. He was fairly weak and a bit on the chubby side. This only got him more harassment from his peers.

Day after day he would go to school, get beaten up, get picked on by the teachers, go home to whatever awaited him at the orphanage and spent the afternoon avoiding the others for fear of being beaten again. Life was all but good to Miles. Not one person could see his true self. The person behind the broken shell. The kind, caring person who just needed a chance to shine.

One afternoon when Miles came back from school out of breath running from the bullies that stalked him home every day no matter which home he was living in Miles broke down at the sight. The one thing in the  world he couldn't live without and the one thing that kept him going......gone.

"This is how it ends, its about time. Its finally going to be over. All it takes, is one. Final. Step."

As the ground grew closer a smile of relief from the life of pain and suffering spreads across his face. And as the ground  is close, his memories fly through his mind.

"No! I'm sorry!" He wailed as his his previous foster parents hit him and kicked him in his chest and sides causing a rib to crack.

His foster parents beat him for any reason they could, be it spilling a drink or just not putting his pillow back in the right place.

As Miles fell his thoughts went to his birth parents. A tear ran down his face and dripped off his nose.

"I'm sorry." That's all he was told when his parents died. "I'm sorry? Is that all they could say?" Bastards. No one cared about him. Nobody gave him a second thought . All those people who never helped him or gave him a second glance. He was glad it would all be over in a few seconds.

The ground grew closer and closer until he was a few feet away. Nearing the final few feet to the ground his vision became darker until he blacked out.
