"Milesssssssssssssssssssssss............" A faint whisper rang through Miles' head. His eyes shot open but nothing was there.

"Who's there?" Miles looked around. He was floating in complete nothingness. No light. No ground. no gravity. He spun around in the air trying to get his bearings.

"I'm right here. Don't you see me?" The voice called out, this time more clearly.

Miles was about to respond before gravity returned pulling him to the invisible ground. Looking all around once more revealed nothing as the sky, the floor, everything, was black.

"Some lights might help." He replied sarcastically and rolling his eyes.

"Now now dear brother. No need to be like that." The voice sounded as a small child-like figure appeared from the darkness. It was a small female child with a white bow with blue polka-dots in her hair. She carried a small and dirty teddy-bear in one hand whereas the other was covered in bloody bandages

"Cliche much?" Miles thought to himself with a smirk.

"Listen here kiddo." He said aloud. "This is the most over done horror movie type of scene there is. Just like whenever someone hears a sound in a dark alley-way, they go and check it out. Plus, you're not my sister. She's dead." Miles spoke with a condescending tone as he patted the girl on the head.

"Mr. Tuddles doesn't like the way you talk to me." The young girl frowned.

"And would this be Mr. Tuddles?" Miles ripped the bear from the girl's hand. "Well hello there Mr. Tuddles. Whats that? She isn't very good at being scary or intimidating? Thats not nice to say, even if it is true."

"Give him back."

"Whats that? Rip his arms off? OK!" Miles slowly started ripping the threads that attached the arm to the body slowly, making the child watch. "I really really wish this could have been one of them nightmare dream things that actually are scary. Then again, I would have been murdered by now if it was. Christ those things are stupid. They stand there and let the murderer come for them when they could easily out run them." Miles babbled on in his thoughts.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" The girl screamed loud enough to make Miles drop the bear and cover his ears. "LEAVE MR. TUDDLES ALONE!!!"

The girl pushed her arm out and sent Miles flying backwards and into a large creature's leg. Getting to his feet Miles dusted himself off despite there being no dust on the floor. Turning round, he came face to face with a large, purple, semi-transparent creature.

"Hmm. This must be one of them Ursa Majors that Twi told me about." Miles spoke to himself but was met with a loud roar to the face making his hair stand backwards.

"I told you to leave him alone." The girl appeared behind him.

"You can't hurt me. Do what you want." Miles stuck his middle fingers at the large bear behind him "He on the other hand, might be able to."

"Is that so?" The girl held her hand out as his pistol appeared in her grasp shot him in the shoulder.

"SHIT!" Miles covered the wound with his hand as the girl held the gun towards his head, her non-bandaged hand just managing to hold the gun in her tiny hand "Where did you get that?"

Looking up, the bear had its paw held above his head waiting for the approval of its master. "See. I can hurt you. And so can Mr. Tuddles."

As the paw came crashing down Miles looked her in the eye and spoke "Bitch" before diving to the side and out of the way of the gigantic paw.

"Get back here and DIE!!!" The child yelled firing more bullets after Miles as he ran into the darkness without looking back.

Running further and further, his chest burnt and his legs ached but he couldn't stop as bullets whizzed passed his head. Miles never stopped running for what seemed like hours, his muscles screamed for mercy, yet he pressed on.

"The hell is going on? Discord? You there?" Miles came to a sudden stop as the ground started to shake and half destroyed buildings shot out of the ground.

"Discord. Now would be a good time to reply." Miles called out.

Miles looked at the world around him as the hail of bullets stopped but the shaking didn't. Under his feet another building rose and towered high into the air. All around from one horizon to the next all that could be seen was a destroyed city. Looking over the ruins of the lifeless concrete jungle gave Miles an eerie chill.  Looking over the edge, the young girl rode the Ursa through the streets in search of her prey.

"Come out brother. Lets play a game." The young girl spoke normally but her voice echoed throughout the world "Lets play a game of hide and seek. If I find you, you die. If I don't find you, I keep looking and then you die. Ahahaha." The girl cackled maniacally.

"What a bitch. That is totally one sided."

Miles backed away from the edge and rested against broken wall. Taking off his top he wrapped it around the wound because, well, its what you do when you have a wound.

"MMMMMMMMMMMMiles!" A voice echoed out.

"What? Who's there?!"

"IIIIIIIIIIIt's me. You have to run! You have to find a way out! I.....I can't help you! You're on your own!"

"Discord?"

"RRRRUN!"

Miles was cut off before he could respond as a large purple claw gripped onto the roof followed by the rest of the bear. "Found you! Now die!" The girl pulled out a flame-thrower and fired it at where he was sat "Ahahahaha."

The fire stopped and nothing was left. The once occupied space was now as empty as the rest of the city. "That wasn't a challenge, its no fun if its not a challenge." The girl's mood changed from evil to disappointed.

In the distance, a dark blue dot shot through the air. "The chase is on." The girl's lips curled into a sinister smile.

"Luna?" Miles clung on for dear life.

"Yes it is I. But who was that down there?" Luna turned her head back at the city down below.

"My sister. And how did you find me?" Miles hugged up to the princess to keep from falling.

"Your sister?! But she isn't alive. And I'm here because I sensed you were having some sort of trouble so I came to investigate your dreams."

"You can come into other's dreams? This is a dream? More like a nightmare."

"Yes, it is a talent I possess. Its a good thing I came because you look like you need help."

"Oh you couldn't be more right. Whats the plan?"

"You wake up."

Miles closed his eyes and began focusing hard. All his thoughts focused onto waking and entering the real world. "Nope. Not working. Any more bright ideas?"

"Grrr. I was afraid this would happen." Luna sounded disappointed.

"What do you know?" Miles spoke sternly

"Black-sun sent a letter telling us about wanting to do some experiments on you. You must still be under the effects of the anesthetic."

"What?!!!" Miles' head burst into flames.

"Calm down. Trust us, it is in your best interest. I promise you."

"It better be. Or I will drive the tank into both castles and blow shit up!" The fire disappeared but left wisps of smoke coming from his ears.

"So do you have a plan on what we're going to do? Because, whilst you're in here, everything you feel will be real. Any pain you suffer, will follow you back into the real world."

"What?! I thought when you feel something in a dream it stays in the dream."

"It is an unfortunate consequence of the anesthetic. Normally you would be right but because you can't wake up, the body believes it is real and tries to heal itself resulting in the exact injury they received in the dream."

"That makes absolutely no sense." Miles furrowed his brow.

"I'm not a doctor. I don't know everything. Geez." Luna rolled her eyes.

"So, I die in here, I die for real? I have my arm ripped off in here, my arm will fall off for real? If I was to have an accident and shit myself-"

"-Yes! It would happen in the hospital bed. Wow, you're disgusting."

"So what happens if you get injured or whatever in here?"

"It is your dream so I'm thinking it might have the same affect on me."

"Wh-"

"-Don't ask me why! I don't know for sure, its just a hunch."

"You don't have to be rude about it."

Luna began her descent onto a rooftop of a nearby skyscraper "We'll rest here. We need to do something about....your sister."

"I see where this is going, by do something about her, you mean kill her don't you?"

Luna said nothing as she turned her head away. Her head bowed as she began to speak "Miles, I'm sorry but-"

"-OK. How do we do it?"

"W-what?"

"Its not like she's real or anything. Hell, it might not even be my sister for all I know. It could be someone claiming to be her if others can get in."

"That is possible. But who else would have the power to CHRYSALIS!!"

"Who?"

"Queen of the changelings. She must know about you."

"Why does she want me dead?"

"You're the guardian of the diamond. She wants it for something."

"Ah. Wait. Who's been looking after it whilst I'v been away?"

"We moved it temporarily into the castle."

"At least there's that."

"I'm going to go and get help. Just stay alive."

Luna's horn glowed a brilliant white followed by a cloud of smoke filling the area where she once stood. In her place stood a dark figure with a crooked horn and holes in parts of the body.

"Luna? You look different."

"Ahahaha that fool. Nothing can escape unless I say so."

"Would I be correct in thinking you're not Luna?"

"Quiet you ape!" The queen's horn shone a sickly green as Miles was lifted off the floor and thrown into a wall.

"Leave him alone, Chrysalis." Luna appeared behind the queen.

"How did you escape?! The Ursa should have killed you!" The queen's rage grew.

"Ursas don't have wings." The night princess deadpanned "You're not smart are you?"

"Insolent cretin! How dare you mock me! You must remember, I'm in control here!" Chrysalis' horn grew bright green.

Behind the night princess an army of changelings began to form at an alarming rate. The buzzing of the wings was deafening and only grew louder as the city filled with more and more changelings.

"Now my babies, ATTACK!" Chrysalis ordered.

As thousands of changelings raced towards Luna, she watched helplessly as from all angles she was surrounded. A kick from her left caused her to crash into the floor with a heavy thud. She could do nothing to defend herself from the barrage of attacks. If she covered one area, the attackers focused on another. If she attacked one changeling, two more took its place. Blow after blow made her weaker as she could do nothing to fight back. A single tear came to her eye as she awaited death.

All of a sudden, the world went silent and the beating stopped. Lifting her head from the ground and her hoofs from her face she saw the reason why. Standing only a few feet away was a fiery Miles with Chrysalis' head in his grasp. "Thats right. You touch her one more time, queen bug gets cooked."

The queen had a look of terror on her face as she knew she could not escape, and that her life was in Miles' hands, literally. The changelings looked between each other as if looking for what to do next. One changeling in particular had a sinister look upon its face. The changeling glanced over to the bruised princess then back over to Miles. Staring at daggers at Miles, the changeling kicked Luna in the ribs one more time without breaking eye contact with the infuriated human.

"Now you've done it!" The fire around Miles' hands increased; burning the queen's head. The queen squealed and writhed in agony but Miles didn't bat an eye. A slight smile formed on his lips as the smell of burnt changeling filled the air. After minutes of torture, the queen final succumb to the pain and injuries as her body went limp.

"You." Miles' voice was a low growl as he walked over to the one that kicked the downed princess  "I'm going to rip you to pieces."

"Ahahaha. You think you stand a chance against me?" The changeling retorted. "That who you just cooked, wasn't the real Queen." The changeling morphed into the form of Chrysalis "It could be me."

"I'm still going to gut you." Miles swiped at the queen.

"But I might not be the real one." She dodged the attack.

"It could be me."

"Or me."

"Or me."

"Or maybe even me."

More and more changelings took the form of the queen; thousands of Chrysalises filled the city and more continued to appear.

"Very well then." Miles changed back to his normal self "I'll just have to kill you all." Miles reached behind his back for his sword that wasn't there "Ah. Right, no weapons on me. Could I interest you in some cyanide? Maybe even some napalm? I can have it delivered straight to where you live. And if you purchase in the next five minutes, you get a second load absolutely free!"

"Miles we have to run. There are too many of them." Luna grabbed him by the collar and dragged him into the air.

"You can run, but you'll only die tired." The Chrysalises called out.

Soaring into the sky, Luna chucked Miles onto her back as she gained speed heading away from the mob of changelings. "What do we do now? We can't escape and if we die here, its lights out for both of us out there." Luna landed again inside a destroyed home.

"I don't know. But whatever it is, you're staying here."

"Why? We both have our lives at stake here and we both have to work together or we'll die for sure."

"No. This is my mind, and I won't let you put yourself in harms way to help me."

"I'm not staying here."

"Yes, you are."

"I'm going with you. There is if's, and's or but's about it!" Luna's voice rose to near shouting.

"Why should I let you risk yourself for me?!" Miles roared back.

"Because we're family! And family protect each other!" Luna yelled in the royal canterlot voice before covering her mouth.

"W-what did you just say?"

"Nothing, just a slip of the tongue. Forget I said anything."

"Fine. I'm going back. I have a plan."

*smack* The sound of a hoof hitting a face echoed throughout the empty streets.

"I'm going. Thats final."

"No."

"As princess I order you to let me come along to help."

"Don't give me that shit..." A finger pointed at the princess' face.

"Miles! Those are your orders. Now do as I say."

"I really dislike you some times." Miles groaned.

"I know." Luna cheered slightly as she hopped like a filly over a broken window.

"First, we need to do some recon."

**************************************************************************************************

Luna shot through the air with Miles riding on her back over the infested city. Luckily, they hadn't been spotted yet and still had the element of surprise. The ground below was teeming with changeling queens all gathered around what seemed to be a throne made from human skeletons. In the throne sat a Chrysalis barking orders at the rest as the Ursa was sleeping just behind her.

Looking down from the sky, the two could still make out the one in the throne playing with the pistol from before. *BANG* The gun went off sending a bullet straight through another queen's skull.

"Looks like we found our target."

"I sure hope so. But are you sure this will work? I mean, sneaking up with a lump of concrete on a pole and beating her to death doesn't seem very promising. Or clean for that matter." Luna grimaced at the thought.

As the two began to descend a loud noise boomed from below.

*BANG*

A bullet ripped through the air and through Luna's left wing "AAGH! My wing!"

Without the full use of her wing Luna could not keep in flight as she began to slow down "I can't.......we're going down!" She grunted.

Plummeting from the sky, Luna and Miles were in free-fall heading straight to the crowd below them. Instinctively, Luna wrapped her wings around Miles to lessen the impact on him. Luna writhed in agony as they fell from the sky down to the thousands of changelings below.

As they fell, Miles thought bout his encounters in Equestria, the friends he had made, the enemies too, and the adventures he had. Discords voice rang in Miles' head, repeating over and over again. "Remember, in your mind, you are like a god."

"He's right." Miles burst into flames again.

"W-who's right?"

"Luna, you're going home. I'll see you soon." Miles' hands glowed as a white light enveloped the injured princess and sent her back out of his mind.

Looking below, the crowd had gathered directly below him with hungry faces and drooling mouths whilst the one in the chair simply smiled.

"COME GET SOME!" Miles shot towards the floor going faster and faster until impact. The shock-wave was comparable to a meteor's impact. A bright flash of light before the world started shaking and an inferno covered the city in flames, decimating all it touched.

As the flames died down, all but one changeling had been destroyed. The queen was hidden behind a magical barrier which shielded her and her throne from the blast.

"Well, that was impressive if I say so myself." The queen stood from her throne and walked towards the crater in the ground "But you are still no match for me."

Quick as a flash, Miles launched himself out of the crater and into the queen. The two slammed into the ground as Miles stood above her. Fear in her eyes told him that he had gotten her by surprise.

"Listen here. In my mind, I'm god." Miles raised his hand into the air.

"Too bad gods die!"

All around the ground started to shake, the buildings still standing crumpled and the ground split into pieces as fire filled the cracks. The queen laughed as her form started to fade before he could land the finishing blow. All around the world was slowly collapsing. As a shadow grew over the surrounding area, Miles looked up as the last thing he saw was a large building falling towards him.
